Good point daisyrose, though we did burn people for witchcraft: about 400 years ago. Islam emerged (if that is the right verb) about 600 years after Christianity, which committed heinous acts during its evolution into the more benign religion it is today. It's unpleasant to think that Islam will follow a similar evolutionary pattern, that we have another 600 years of beheadings to look forward to, until Islam "grows up."

Notice how there is "no written legal code", hence the law is whatever the judge finds it to be (I know that we have some of those here, too). When this is the case the concept of a "fair trial" is pretty much out the window. God is enough of a jury for the accused. Society doesn't need to provide them with an attorney or a jury. Only prayers that Allah will have mercy on them; someone to recite Allah's verdict; and, to carry out the punishment due.

That pretty much sums up the Sharia code of justice and world view. A woman cannot have just other women or even just one witness to speak in her defense as her testimony is presumed to be unreliable and deceptive. Her husband has to testify in her defense for her case to be really heard. If the husband does testify on her behalf, he will be seen as weak and nothing more than a puppet to his wife's caprices and so the man will be made an object of public ridicule. It is evident that there is no hope for the accused in such a judicial system just like there was none for the women of Salem accused of sorcery where the same social dynamics were in place. Once accused, their conviction is a fait accompli.

I am tired of North America (Canada included) accomodating muslims, making exceptions for them, etc. In Toronto a school is allowing muslim prayer to be conducted because of the large number of muslim students. Last time I checked, religion had been removed from public schools and I don't see why an exception should be made for these muslim students.

I am sure there are intelligent and peaceful muslims but.....

Any report on actions that we have taken since 9/11, would show that we haven't done enough since there are still viable populations in those countries. When the Muslims reach a population here in the US, as they have in Europe, you won't be so quick to defend them and assail the actions that we have taken to defend ourselves.
