Pakistan opposition leader: War on terror creating extremists

The man who aims to become Pakistan's next president, Imran Khan, claims the West's strategy has caused nothing but trouble for Pakistan in the last ten years. He told ITN's Mark Austin there has to be a political not military solution and that Iran had to be involved in any talks.

The West's policies in Pakistan are pushing the country's population toward extremism, says Imran Khan in this interview with Britain's ITN. To achieve a lasting peace, authorities need to talk to the Taliban, he says.

Khan is not only a powerful politician -- he also served as captain of the country's cricket team and was married to British celebrity Jemima Khan (née Goldsmith).

It is profoundly important to rebuild our relationship with Pakistan. They have always been friends of the US. I wish Mr. Khan luck...let's hope he can settle the country down.

Absolutely correct assessment by Khan. Let us all learn from this and set the right tone into a better humane future for all. Cut back on the "war on terror" mantra - enough said, enough done, enough lost.

The headline of the artical says it all. What a myopic statement. Islamic terror has been eminating from Pakistan for hundreds of years. Perhaps the largest and most prolonged genocide was the Islamic Moghuls against the Indian subcontinent. Islamic terrorists like Timur (aka Tamerlane) Burned cities, killed hundreds of thousands, enslaved and raped the dispised pagan Hindu infidel. Pakistani Islam IS terrorism against the infidel. There is no other description. Killing terrorists in Pakistan is like throwing flowers into the sewer. The stink will keep coming back. The only way to stop it is to shut down the terrorist factories called the Madrassas. It is in the Madrassas that the students (aka Taliban) learn their Islamic zeal.

So when did negotiating with terrorist become a good idea? They hate us because we are successful, and would be very happy to kill you and your children just because you are freedom loving Americans.

The extremest that bomb NY city civilians created the war on terror. Surrender, drop your arms...then we might consider talking. Packistan has quite a history of harboring terrorist and no interest in stopping them. So what's to talk about, Islamst hate us. Period.
