Clark is the Number 2 airport after Nimoy Aquino on that island. That airport is busy because the travel tax is 400 Php compared to 750 at Aquino. The only thing left of the US bases at Subic is a few bunkers that have been taken over either by the goverment, businesses or conservation groups. Some of the checkpoints are still up but our bases are assimilated. The old landing strip is passed off as an international airport. The naval base is commercial shipyards.

After watching the Republican Debate in Florida, I wholeheartedly agree with you. Mitt and Rick were the worst. Newt also had a "let's go kick their butt" mentality. Ron was the only one who was humane about it the whole thing.

If Obama loses, and I hope he doesn't, I would only want Ron in the White House.

Wish I could encircle my banker with 11 aircraft carriers. Maybe I would get a reduced intrest rate like the very wealthy who will not be paying for these bases. No, the poor and middleclass will be forced to fork over the money to build bases in the Phillipines. The rich will profit from them.

How long ago was it that they told us to get out? Let's stay out. It's another play for oil. Oil in the Spratly Islands that China, Viet Nam, the Philippines, and Brunei all are claiming. Let China take them. They will then need less Iranian oil. That's good for us. China won't have to ship oil so far. Good for the environment and us. China will then owe us some minor concession in the future. That's good for us.

We should be pulling our troops back, not putting more over there. Bring the troops/money back to the US. If the Japanese, Koreans, Filipinos are worried about China, then let them use their own money and people to counter them. It is a very good idea to for the US government to think well ahead when it comes to China and block any aggression they are without a doubt going to be showing in the near future. Yes you are right all parties were involved in the last fiasco in the Iraq war and the nation rebuilding that cost trillions of American debt. The true numbers are not out there on the debt as of yet. I am not going to point fingers of who was at fault on the Iraq war because anybody with a good intellectual thinking and common sense was not blinded by the smoke and mirrors. No doubt we needed to be in Iraq but on a different level. The days where a rich individual or individuals think thay can do what they want with no repercussions are over. We need to counter every move of China ahead of the game. This is real life yes there were a lot of rich idiots who got America in this mess the last thirty years. I am not profiling anybody to be rich is not a bad thing but what you do with your wealth is another. If you want to through it a way fine do it. If you want to buy an American election for you and your buddies own selfish gain without moral any thought of others not thats not a good idea anymore . Not all money is good money and whoever thinks they are above the law because of wealth are wrong in their thinking. The people behind the scenes who have sacrificed their lives and their families lives to protect life as all know it in this nation are very tired of protecting bad money. It makes OUR NATION weak when WE are carrying this much debt and all of our manufacturing is done over seas. You are wrong whoever said we would fail because of countering China, America will never fail ifwe stand up for what is right or protect our children's futures. If the American economy were to collapse it would be all out world war because we are basically the Global Economy. China knows this as well as all other countries with a large economy. These are very complicated times and we need very intelligent people handling the situation that we are facing not tomorrow but TODAY. For example about what caused many of these problems :it doesn't mean because your grand daddy was rich and left you a lot of money that you are intelligent. It is good that grand daddy was smart and hopefully a good fellow but if somebody were elected into public office because their grand daddy was rich that was a poor idea. Economics is only one part of this great nation and yes we are hurting in that area right now granted. We need to keep moving in the direction are going which is painfully repairing the past mistakes that have been made on all sides of the isle.Obama needs to stay in office for another term and everybody doing public service need to chip and fix this mess. Forget about the parties and think about our people which is the greatest investment anybody could make.
