Updated 12:20 p.m. ET: At least 32 people -- including at least six policemen -- are dead from a car-bomb attack near a funeral procession, The Associated Press reports. Police said the blast struck in the predominantly Shiite neighborhood of Zafaraniyah, where mourners had gathered for a funeral. They said 65 people were wounded in the attack, including 16 police.
Updated at 4:46 a.m.: The blast outside a hospital struck a funeral procession for Mohammed al-Maliki, a real estate agent who was killed with his wife and son on Thursday, a doctor and interior ministry official tells AFP news agency. Both speak on condition of anonymity.
Published at 4:17 a.m.: BAGHDAD -- Twenty-six people were killed on Friday when a suicide bomber detonated an explosives-packed car in southeastern Baghdad, Iraqi officials said.
The attack occurred at 11:00 a.m. (3:00 a.m. ET) in the Iraqi capital's predominantly Shiite neighborhood of Zafaraniyah, police said. They said 53 people were wounded in the attack.
Hospital officials confirmed the death toll to The Associated Press.

All officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release the information.
Insurgents have stepped up violence in Iraq since the U.S. military withdrawal last month. More than 200 people have been killed since the beginning of the year.

The only way to consider Islam as {the religion of peace} is if you consider it's victims at peace? Why do we keep messing with these people they are nothing but trouble,bizzare,backwards and primitive. Now we are getting prepped and ramped up for a war with Iran. This is all a bunch of bull just leave them be and defend our borders and limit muslim immigration.
As an American I can understand your defend our borders and limit muslim immigration, after all this is the land of freedom built on religious freedom to worship. But I am having a hard time with the idea of the muslim religion even being allowed to exsist let alone be in this country. That goes against everything I believe, but think it is necassary if America is to continue to be the land of the free.
I liken it to the wizard of oz , are you a good witch or a bad witch, but theres no magical shoes to tell the difference between a good muslim or a bad muslim.
Totally deny access. You can't tell which muslim family may have a child who embrace's fanatic islam any more than you can tell from a Catholic family that may have a child who embraces priesthood. If devotion is the only seperation then better to not even have islam around to be devoted to.
A Catholic will marry a Baptist and either will change religion as they worship God not the religion, can muslims say the same?

Only 26 dead? Must have been a small funeral. This is only the beginning of what is to come once Mulah Sadr gets the new election and becomes the Grand Aytolha of Iraq and presumably the President or Prime Ministeror whatever he wants to call himself. The the border with Iran will be erased and the Calif of Persia will join both countries. The good news is that the are Shi'a and are considered heritics by all the Sunnis. The whole middle east will be one great big suicide bomb. Finally the Saudis and the rest of Sunni world will go after them and a giantic Muslim war. Neither side will come out whole agan. Barry Obummer and his crew will have to use the oil and natural gas in America. The bad news is it will take years to get it up and running.
Will we have peace in the Middle East when all the Sunnis and all the Shiites have killed each other? Will there ever be a government among Muslim nations that recognizes human rights and ends torture? These "Arab Springs" have evolved into Arab Winters for so many people. I see little or no gains for the common man, and certainly not the common woman or child, as a result of these "revolutions". And now Obama wants to take the money allegedly saved from maintaining an army in Iraq and the withdrawal from Afghanistan and give it to Egypt? Like hell, I say! For God's sake, don't keep arming the generals who torture and oppress the citizens to maintain their dominance over them.

To teach a lesson to the Sunnis, Shiites should start from Mecca and Medina. Last time, they only tried to capture them.
This is not killing for Islam, this is killing for Satan! The Quran says to kill non-Islamics, yet, they kill Islamics, and in a hospital! They defy the book that they use to justifiy everything!
These are no followers of God, Allah, etc., they are the pure manifestation of evil, agents of Satan. The sooner people know this, the more counterstrikes will be done against these demons.
Just think how insignificant all this would be is Mother Nature had had the common sense to put the oil in, say, Canada.

I'm glad we're out of Iraq, but don't hold your breath on Afghanistan. Remember, Barry said that Afghanistan was the "good war."
And we all know that the media will always back him up, even if he keeps us there for decades.
So when the puppet goverment that was installed by the US collapses and the radical religious right wing conservitives takes over and blockades our embassy will we start another war of liberation or will we finally figure out that we can't change 2000+ yrs of inbreds hated .
The closest thing to a Islamic Democracy is Turkey and now that they have a problem with Israel we can't trust them anymore . And it looks like liberating Libya is not turning out as planned . In fact it had to say that for all the American lives lost in the Middle East they have not had any lasting result other than for every innocent life that was lost we grew 2 more people that are will to take up arms against us .
And it hard for me to accept that all those that fight us are terrorist when it look we are the one that have invaded their country looking for people who are doing what we Americans would do if we were invaded , they don't see us as liberators but as occupiers
