People carry an injured Palestinian protester during clashes with Israeli security forces at a demonstration marking Land Day at Qalandiya checkpoint, near Ramallah, Friday.
Israeli security forces fired rubber bullets, tear gas and stun grenades to break up groups of Palestinian stone-throwers on Friday as annual Land Day rallies turned violent.
Palestinian activists have called for a "Global March to Jerusalem" to mark the day when Israeli Arabs protest against government policies that they say has stripped them of land.
Arab news channel Al Jazeera reported in a live blog on its website that the Israeli army was "pushing protesters back towards Ramallah with the use of tear gas and water cannons".
It also reported that there are close to 1,000 protestors gathered in Ramallah.
Israeli forces were put on high alert at frontier crossings with Lebanon and Syria but there were no reports of any protesters nearing the border fences, unlike last year when several demonstrators were killed there in Land Day protests.

However, violence flared at checkpoints in the occupied West Bank to the north and south of Jerusalem. Witnesses also reported disturbances at gates leading into the Old City, with police looking to limit access to the revered al-Aqsa Mosque.
Israeli security forces fired rubber bullets, tear gas and stun grenades to break up groups of Palestinian stone-throwers as annual Land Day rallies turned violent. Msnbc.com's Dara Brown reports.
A Reuters reporter saw two men being carried away injured after scuffles at Jerusalem's Lions' Gate, while police said they had made several arrests at the nearby Damascus Gate.
Jerusalem is a focal point of conflict, as Palestinians want the city's eastern sector, captured by Israel in a 1967 war, as capital of a future state. Israel has annexed East Jerusalem as part of its capital and insists the city remain united.
"We are determined to march together toward Jerusalem, and hopefully we will break through and reach it," said a masked youth, calling himself Rimawi, as he faced off against soldiers in the West Bank city Ramallah, a short distance from Jerusalem.
Flag-waving crowds neared the Qalandiya crossing out of Ramallah, some of them hurling stones at the security forces, but were forced back when border police sprayed them with foul-smelling liquid from a water cannon.
Land Day commemorates the killing by security forces of six Arabs in 1976 during protests against government plans to confiscate land in northern Israel's Galilee region.
Arabs make up about a fifth of Israel's total population. Many complain of discrimination. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has recently called for improved efforts to integrate Arab citizens into Israel's work force.

For everyone- see for yourself- go to http://www.ynetnews/artricles/0,7340,L-4210176,00.html Palestinians riot at Qalandiya checkpoint - throwing Molotov cocktails (these cocktails are not for drinking- they are incindiary). Pictures, text, video. - also 120 buses hired by HAMAS on th way to Lebanese front,8000 protestors marching from Jordan.
The Koran instructs Islamic people to attack infidels and specifically Jews and Christians. Israel will never be accepted by Islam and Palestinians, which are blindly lead around by Radical Islamic groups like Hamas or Hezbollah.
They are protesting land they never owned. The Palestinian people are Jordanians, Lebanese, Bedouins and whatever People wandered through. The Arabs that live within Israel enjoy more freedom than most other Middle Eastern states. Many of the limitations are the focused on maintaing a Jewish State, the only Jewish state in the world.
Israel was legally created in 1948 and attacked multiple times since. The attacks will only end when Israel is gone, which is never. The attacks are not about the land, they are about the elimination of Israel.
Israel has every right to protect itself and its borders and Jerusalem is and will always be the capital of Israel. A Jerusalem controlled by Islam will go the way of Mecca, shut off to the world and reversion back to the 7th century.
lets not also forget the f16's, white phosphorus....
This is an example of what Palestinians call peacefully protest. They are looking for the dead of one of his owns to have the "Martyr in the Land Day" and be the victims of the oppressors Jews.. Bunch of hypocrites .
@ ftbrgtrnd
actually the Koran tells Muslims not to harm Christians or Jews because we all believe in the same God.
Ignorance is not bliss... It is dangerous.
EROCK17
I have read the Koran and Mohamed'shistory in the Hadith and both instruct followers to kill Jews and Christians. The Koran instructs it's followers to kill infidels to guarantee passage to Paradise. It instructs followers to terrorize. It seeks revenge rather than forgiveness. If you read it you would agree.
The verses below are taken from the Quaran. These quotes are the inspiration for Islamic terrorists worldwide.
Quaran 2:193 Fight against them (unbelievers) until there is no dissension, and the religion is for Allah
Quran 3:56 As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to help
Quran 4:74 Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, on him We shall bestow a vast reward
Quaran 8:12 I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them
Quran 9:5 Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war
Quran 47:4 When you clash with the unbelieving Infidels in battle (fighting Jihad in Allah's Cause), smite their necks until you overpower them, killing and wounding many of them. At length, when you have thoroughly subdued them, bind them firmly, making (them) captives. Thereafter either generosity or ransom (them based upon what benefits Islam) until the war lays down its burdens. Thus are you commanded by Allah to continue carrying out Jihad against the unbelieving infidels until they submit to Islam
And these words are from the Hadith of the Gharad tree:
Truly, a "religion of peace" /sarcasm
Here are the words of the Jews in Israel.
"We have to kill all the Palestinians unless they are resigned to live
here as slaves."
Chairman Heilbrun of the Committee for the Re-election of
General Shlomo Lahat, the mayor of Tel Aviv, October 1983.
"We declare openly that the Arabs have no right to settle on even one
centimeter of Eretz Israel... Force is all they do or ever will understand. We
shall use the ultimate force until the Palestinians come crawling to us on all fours."
Rafael Eitan, Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defense Forces -
Gad Becker, Yediot Ahronot 13 April 1983, New York Times 14 April 1983.
"We must use terror, assassination, intimidation, land confiscation, and
the cutting of all social services to rid the Galilee of its Arab
population."
Israel Koenig, "The Koenig Memorandum"
"It is the duty of Israeli leaders to explain to public opinion,
clearly and courageously, a certain number of facts that are forgotten with
time. The first of these is that there is no Zionism, colonialization or Jewish
State without the eviction of the Arabs and the expropriation of their
lands."
Yoram Bar Porath, Yediot Aahronot, of 14 July 1972.
"I don't know something called International Principles. I vow that
I'll burn every Palestinian child (that) will be born in this area. The
Palestinian woman and child is more dangerous than the man, because the
Palestinian child’s existence infers that generations will go on, but the man
causes limited danger. I vow that if I was just an Israeli civilian and I met a
Palestinian I would burn him and I would make him suffer before killing him.
With one hit I've killed 750 Palestinians (in Rafah in 1956).... I wanted
to encourage my soldiers by raping Arabic girls as the Palestinian women is a
slave for Jews, and we do whatever we want to her and nobody tells us what we
shall do but we tell others what they shall do."
Ariel Sharon, current Prime Minister, in an interview with
General Ouze Merham, 1956
" It lies upon the people's shoulders to prepare for
the war, but it lies upon the Israeli army to carry out the fight with the
ultimate object of erecting the Israeli Empire."

Minister)

All interested should listen to this.
@FtBgtrnd - Your first post is nothing more than lies. Arabs owned over 90% of the land in Palestine at the time of partition and that is a fact. These people have been living here much longer than 95% of the Jews in Israel. You fail to mention that most Israelis are recent European transplants. Without refering to the Bible can you please tell me what legal right the Jews had to Palestine in 1947? The rest of your post is udder nonsense. Historically Jews have been much better off under Muslim rule than Christian rule. After the Crusaders expelled all the Jews from Jerusalem it was Saladin, an Arab that allowed them all to return. Before the mass illegal immigration of European Jews, Muslims and Jews lived peacefully in Palestine. If Israel was created legally than that same legal framework calls for the establishment of a Palestinian State. Are the settlements legal? Target assisinations? denying freedom of movement? The continued theft of land? Israel is the only country in the entire world that seems to think so
Israel needs to keep all these POS leaders and activists accountable for such "peaceful protests". When your leaders and heads of state proactively encourage and finance the ignorant and uneducated masses to riot at Israels borders, throw rocks and molotovs and generally burn sh*t every year as a way to commemorate something (lol), knowing wholeheartedly that this will likely result in casualties of your own people who they can later tote as martyrs and spin it for their own political gain - f*ck it, arrest them for inciting riots.
They obviously dont care about the well being of their people, same reason they shoot rockets from the roofs of their own family homes - because they are so dumb as to convince themselves that they are doing god's work and sacrificing themselves in the name of Allah, and people are actually buying this crap? You have got to be kidding me. Can you say Darwin winners?
I want to say I don't have a dog in this fight, but America is so invested psychologically sort of speak that I do have a dog in this fight, but this is getting to the point that when people cannot settle their differences they resort to the ole, "If i cant have it neither can you" perhaps a better example is the biblical fight over the baby between the 2 mothers. Will this baby be scarified to the point that no one enjoys the growth of this child into adulthood and it is sent into atomic destruction, that way no one wins and the land lays bare?
I'm sorry for this is disappointing to a point beyond despair.
What a bunch of BS, Mimi! There was a minor incident of rock throwing when a group of Palestinians were tear gased when they tried to go to their mosque for prayers. These demonstrations have been mostly peaceful. This is just part of the Israeli facist government manipulating the American people. If it was as you claim the Israelis would bring in F-16's and napalm them and the American press would be screaming how Israel was just defending itself. Every country in the world knows how horrible Israel treats the Palestinians except America.
That's a lie. True Islam is a religion of peace, just like true Christianity.
It's the extremists that doctor up this violent sh*t.
Ron, you have got to be out of your mind. Even the pictures on here, a known anti-Israel news source show them throwing rocks. Its practically a national pastime - Im amazed not one has made the MLB yet! And what exactly is a peaceful Pali protest, because I dont think there ever was one - I think theyre brothers are still peacefully protesting in Syria.
How dare Isreal tear gas my Repubican brothers in Palestine! Godless Chinese communists, those Israelis are!
Allah is not the same as the God of the Christians and Jews as describe in the Bible. Allah stands for the moon good . n Arabia, the sun god was viewed as a female goddess and the moon as the male god. As has been pointed out by many scholars such as Alfred Guilluame, the moon god was called by various names, one of which was Allah! (Islam, p. 7).
http://www.biblebelievers.org.au/islam.htm
Here's a good article by a hardcore Zionist:
http://www.salon.com/2012/03/28/rethinking_zionism/
Actually you are wrong in everything. First of all the Koran considers Christians and Jews to be "Children of the Book" and not "Infidels." Remember it was Muslims that offered sanctuary to Jews who were expelled from Europe.
Secondly the Palestinians are Palestinian, the first recorded history of people living in Palestine comes over 300 years before Christ. Hezbolloh is not a Palestinian organization. It is a Lebanese one. The Arabs in Israel are treated like second class citizens, they are not treated well there.
Israel was actually illegally created in 1948, specifically against the British and UN mandate for the partition of Palestine. Israel is also a terrorist state born out of terrorist acts. Israel has been attacked twice, not multiple times. Israel has attacked its neighbors at least three times, The Six Day War, and the two invasions of Lebanon.
The Capital of Israel was Tel-Aviv, and Jerusalem was never meant to be its capital, nor a part of Israel or any other country. And you also seem to forget that it was Muslims that opened Jerusalem back up to Jews, after they were barred from the city by the Romans.
Israel is the country that has taken Palestinian and Arabic land by force and has illegally occupied it. It was Israel that confiscated land from Palestinians within its border and evicted them. Doing the same to the Palestinians that was done to them throughout history. Israel is the problem child of the Middle East.
Allah is the Arabic word for God, it is not the name of a God. Arabic Christians also use the word "Allah" The Islamic Allah is the same God of the Christians and Jews, it is the God of Abraham. The Roman gods use the word "god" does that mean the Jewish and Christian God came from them? No.
The Palestinians in the picture are wearing "Hoodies"!
Derek,
I like your sarcasm. The Chinese Communists invaded Tibet slaughtering thousands. They suppressed the Tibetan religion, destroyed monasteries, imprisoned leaders, and moved thousands of Chinese into Tibet to change the ethnic character of the country. The UN action was to make China a permanent member of the Security Council.
T Melora, actually, in the pre-Hebrew era the way it worked was that pretty much every tribe in the area had two gods, as you mentioned. One female the other male. These gods helped their own tribes in their own ways but once you left the area your tribe lived on you were on your own. These gods did not offer you protection every where you went.
Once you were in someone else's land you were at the mercy of their gods. Well, eventually the Babylonians came with the idea of one god. The Jews who lived in exile in Babylonia liked the idea and they adopted it for themselves.
Furthermore, the Jews thought of the concept of this one god as, 1) The supreme god who created the world, 2) This god would offer you protection everywhere you went and, 3) This god could punish you with natural disasters if you got him upset.
A few hundred years later the Christians were formed and decided Jesus was the son of god who came to bring his word and all that good stuff.
A few more hundred years later when the Arabs decided to have their own prophet it was well established that this prophet was serving the one and only god. The concept of god as the Jews came up with was the only version of god that existed at the time and agreed upon.
"Allah" simply means god in Arabic as "Dios" means god in Spanish. Your argument is as ridiculous as saying that Spanish speaking people have their own god simply because it's called "Dios".
Have a good day!
I think the Israelis are showing restraint by only using non-lethal means of stopping these violent protests. The "Palestinians are throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails which can both be lethal while the Israeli police are using water cannons, tear gas, and rubber bullets, all of which are non-lethal. The "Palestinians" call this a peaceful protest!!! I find it interesting that they think throwing rocks and fire bombing things and people is a peaceful means of expression!!! For those who wonder why I put "Palestinians" in quotes, it is because there really is no such thing. These so called "Palestinians" are really nothing more than Arabs from Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt who have been disowned by their own people because of their actions. There never was any such race or ethnic group as "Palestinians" before these land disputes surrounding the creation of Israel started. These people were nothing more than nomadic Arabs who had never established any civilization or even permanent settlement in the lands they are trying to claim as their ancestral home. It is a bunch of propaganda BS that they have been shoveling for so long that the uneducated now believe the lies about some ancestral home that they are entitled to. The West Bank belonged to Jordan prior to the '67 war, not some mythical "Palestine." Jordan has made absolutely no attempt to try and reclaim the land. This is in large part because they want nothing to do with these so-called "Palestinians" and would rather leave Israel to deal with them than have to deal with them themselves. The same is true of the Gaza Strip, which was part of Egypt. The Egyptians do not want it back nor do they want to have to deal with the "Palestinians." The border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip was as locked down as the border with Israel prior to Mubarak's fall. Only since the end of Mubarak's regime and the takeover of the Egyptian government by Islamists has the border been even marginally opened up a little. However, even now with the Islamists exerting control in Egypt, crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt is severely restricted. None of the Arab countries bordering the "Palestinian" territories wants anything to do with these neighbors.
Their national sport over there.
I don't know nothin about Tibetians because they aren't represented by the Muslim Republican Party we have right here in the United States! Besides of which, I am pretty sure Tibetians aren't Muslims, or at least if they were Republican, then they would be! So it hardly matters if some Godless Chinese Communists kill a bunch of Godless Tibetians, as long as one of our Republican Mullahs makes it to the White House!
Who We Are And Who We Are Not
By 1946 all the countries that surround Palestine had gained their independence and delineated their borders in their respective constitutions.
That, in itself, defined Palestine.
Never mind the name was first coined by the Greek historian Herodotus around 400BC, never mind every map drawn ever since called the area Palestine, never mind the British calling their administration of that territory the Mandate for Palestine in which article 25 makes it clear no other territories will be added to it, including Transjordan for which the British established a totally separate administration for it.
And never mind the cities of Jerusalem, Meggido, Ashkelon, Jericho, Hebron, Shiloh, Beershebah, Bethel, etc. were ALL FOUNDED, BUILT AND CREATED BY THE CANAANITES AT LEAST 800 YEARS BEFORE ANY JEWS SET FOOT ON THEM.
Most Jews who lived in Palestine before the 1948 War came over AFTER WW2.
When the Arabs came to our aid during that war it was after the Zionist terrorist groups had already expelled over 300,000 Palestinians. These terror groups were so ruthless they managed to expel an additional 500,000 Palestinians and erase over 400 Palestinian villages and towns even after the Arabs intervened.
The state of Israel was established with the help of its terror groups (the Irgun, the Hagannah, the Lehi, the Stern Gang, etc) all of whom had members who either were elected as Prime Ministers of Israel, or chosen to became members of the cabinet by the ruling parties.
Israel didn't have a Prime Minister who was born in Israel until 1996, and by then 7 of the 9 PMs it had were all born outside of Palestine.
The reason we didn't establish Palestine when Gaza was under Egyptian control and the West Bank under Jordanian control was because we wanted to keep the integrity of Palestine as articulated in the 1964 PLO Charter:
"Article 21. The Palestine people believes in the principle of justice, freedom, sovereignty, self-determination, human dignity, and the right of peoples to practice these principles. It also supports all international efforts to bring about peace on the basis of justice and free international co-operation."
"Article 22. The People of Palestine believe in peaceful coexistence on the basis of legal existence, for there can be no coexistence with aggression, nor can there be peace with occupation and colonialism."
And even if we did establish a state back then Israel would have gone ahead with its goal of conquering all of Palestine and "transfering the Palestinians" as they've been saying in everyone of their Zionist manisfestos since the late 1800's, starting with The Jewish State by Theordor Herzl.
Damn if we do, and damn if we don't.
The best peace offer Israel ever made would have that country in complete control of all the borders of Palestine, all of its airspace, all of its coastline, and over 80% of its water resources.
International law calls for the end to all military occupation within reasonable time regardless of how the occupied people feel about it, including Hamas.
Hamas is a political party just like all the other Israeli political parties that call for the expulsion of Palestinians or the prevention of a Palestinian state and that run in every Israeli election and have been part of pretty much ever Israeli cabinet.
Hamas is made up of people who have been born into a ruthless military occupation, have gone to school, married and work under it and who're now watching their children and grandchildren and great granchildren being born, going to school, marrying and working (if at all possible) under the same ruthless military occupation.
You gotta have some balls to invalidate our existance in Palestine, question our humanity, tell us what our history is and is not, who we are and who we are not, and what belongs and doesn't belong to us.
I see your making up your own history again? Why do you even bother writing such lies? It is a sham that you continue to write total bull on these pages, like people are going to believe you. Hamas are a bunch of murderers. When they go into Israel they go after a family and murder them like the Fogel's. Hamas's peaceful protest is throwing Molotov cocktail and concrete at jews! You have a lot of nerve coming on here and speaking without telling the truth! Your culture teaches hatred and murder. It is disgusting and so is your posts that are full of lies.
Derek...
Having delusions of adequacy?
Don't let all that failure go to your head.
How dare you insult your God, Allah, BigTex! You and I both know that we both are adequate in His Grace. If you read your Koran, you will see it right there before your eyes.
Remember, vote Romney, pray to Mecca, and throw the Godless Communists out!
onedumbcookie. What was written above is the history of Palestine and its peoples. The one reading "revised" history is you. Hamas is a political organization as much as a militant/ terrorist one. But your binary brain can't fathom that.
raddave, your a liar and a fraud. You just try to make your own history. Disgusting and done like the true anti-semite you really are.
Muslim's has brainwashed the world "general opinion" thru an obviously biased media to belive in an "occupied land"... If the media was logically and rationally unbiased, they will reffer to Jerusalem and the west bank lands between Jerusalem and the Jordan river, "disputed lands"... not "occupied lands" (a definition that show unilateral acceptance of one side.
The recognized history state Jerusalem was build by king David (about 900 years before Jesus and more than 1500 years before Muhammad...) so that city can be seen as a "liberated land" or "recovered land" from the one side... So, The honest unbiased reference to those "lands" would be "disputed lands" or "contested lands"...
But, again, it seems that the muslims are brainwashing the media with an unilateral dogmatic position. They talk about "talks" but but demand preconditions... Honest talks must be made openly without preconditions from any side. NOT by demostrating power and will to fight.
Come on everyone. You know it's not a Land Day Rally until someone gets tear gassed. It's BYORB all day today. (Bring Your Own Rubber Bullets)
@ raddave
The Palestinians are not the "Philistines" that are referenced in the Bible. That's just nonsense they use to try an legitimize themselves as having historical claim to the land. The Philistine culture died out long ago.
You mean Palestinians should drop their rockets (that have a 99% miss rate) and the Israeli government should stop bombing neighborhoods? That would be more accurate.
http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1369755/in_gaza_conflict_compare_palestinian.html
That's a more accurate ratio for all Palestinian and Israeli conflicts and Israel has no problem wiping out children, women and civilians - and then refusing help to the injured from the Red Cross.
http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSLR1342320081227
Yes, Hamas is a militant group - but Hamas is not representative of the people - certainly not the children of Palestine. So stop lumping Palestinians with Hamas as if they were one - is ridiculous.
Also, if Israel didn't have it's own hate groups then Yitzhak Rabin would still be alive and would have worked out a peace deal - he was so close, so an Israeli terrorist assassinated him.
Why am I not surprised at the Israeli government's actions today.... a brief history...
http://electronicintifada.net/bytopic/672.shtml
The Qassam rockets are unpredictable and rarely kill anyone - compared to the very sophisticated Israeli military who obliterates entire neighborhoods with Hellfire missiles.
The Israel rejection of the UN War Crimes Committed by Israel (not the other way around) report is old news - the pictures tell what happened, dead Palestinian children - now that is a war crime.
http://www.france24.com/en/20100921-un-criticises-israel-hamas-inadequate-war-crimes-probes-goldstone-gaza-offensive
Does this seem like a fair "war?" The Palestinian Authority has said that it:
link: http://www.haaretz.com/news/pa-won-t-oppose-war-crimes-trials-for-hamas-militants-1.5971
I think this shows that Palestinians are for peace, Israel is not.
http://www.france24.com/en/20090915-un-report-accuses-israeli-army-palestinian-militants-war-crimes-gaza-strip
If you watched Palestinian news, or read AlJazeera, you know that the violence in 2008 was carried out on civilians and Israel knew it, they bombed as most children were retuning from school, they leveled an entire block to "supposedly" kill just one Hamas militant who "may" have been in the area. Israel was condemned by the world for this action, with the exception of the United States.
WARNING, THE LINK BELOW HAS GRAPHIC IMAGES OF DEAD PALESTINIAN CHILDREN FROM THE 2008 ISRAELI ATTACK -
http://www.uruknet.info/?p=50118
If you are so proud of how Israel reacts - it should not bother you to see the dead Palestinian children
The link below is a report of the 2008 massacre (no images).
http://www.indymedia.org/pt/2008/12/918368.shtml
While Israel was chastised in the Goldman report at the UN, several countries, including the US walked out.
Link: http://www.haaretz.com/news/pa-won-t-oppose-war-crimes-trials-for-hamas-militants-1.5971
Israel needs to stop killing Palestinians for there to be peace. Israeli mothers and Palestinian mothers alike, do not want to bury their children. Israeli TV (you can watch it on LINK channel), always claims that it attacks Palestine and kills "a few" militants after provocation. Then the Palestinian News comes on, and all you see is destruction and death and wailing. Mother's holding a dead infants asking what did this infant do?
I am obviously pro-Palestine because so many civilians are murdered each year, with no excuse or apology, I wish, however, for peace. I think most of the world would agree, as most of the members of the UN stated in their report.
onedumbcookie, you are forgetting that Arabs and Palestinians are also Semitic people, so your claim of "antisemitism" are bogus. And again, it is not "teh mooslims" screaming about "occupied land" It is international law and the UN Charter that defines it as "occupied lands. It is not "disputed lands" because Israel agreed to the partition plan, that separated Jerusalem from any country. Jerusalem was founded by the Canaanites about 1900 years before Jesus.
No, they are not the Philistines, they are Palestinians. Called Pelest in Ancient Egyptian test, and it was actually from 1150 BCE, not 300. Called Palashtu or Pilistu in Assyrian text.
FtBrgtrnd: you lie. you never studied anything about Islam. I have a Masters Degree in Middle East history and policy, the Qur'an requires observance of Judaism and Christianity, and only advocates killing those who would force their religion on Muslims.
As usual , the right-wing ignorant hate-mongers continue to spread their BS.
BTW, the right-wing is no friend of Israel, they still believe all Jews will go to hell if they don't convert at the end of times- and the ONLY reason they pretend to support Israel and Jews is to bring their mythical un-christian end-of times story to life.
well, whatever the history, whatever the legalities were/are, the fact is that Israel exists, and Jews own it. So it must be the will of allah. Why don't the arabs accept allah's will? If allah wants something different, he will send mohammed back to clarify his will. Until then, can't we all just wait patiently?
May God bless Israel and deliver them from the hand of the wicked which seek the destruction of Israel.
How long does the "day" of Land Day last, anyway???
For those that do not know or understand, a wonderful viner, kpr has done a great deal of work on the subject of whether or not allah is the same as GOD. They are not the same, not even close.

Face it. Right now Islam has an image problem, Islam has an image of hatred towards non-muslims.
Muslims (Not Non-muslims) now must act in order to change their perception,
The genetics of modern day Palestinian, date their arrival to the area around Jerusalem to 600 to 700 AD, after the Muslim invasion of Jerusalem.
The genetics of modern day Jews date their arrival to the area around Jerusalem to before 1200 BC.
Palestinians are Arabs.
Jews are Jews.
Jerusalem is the City of David. King David was a Jew, NOT a Muslim. Just Saying.
At one time Jews and Muslims lived in peace with each other. That was a time where Islam praise the sciences and the arts. Now Islam has changed and become more intolerant of the sciences and the arts. They also are intolerant of other religions.
Face it. Right now Islam has an image problem, Islam has an image of hatred towards non-muslims.
Muslims (Not Non-muslims) now must act in order to change their perception,
Palestinian youths throw stones because THEY LOVE IT! They are willful and ignorant pawns of Hamas and Gazawood, just like their parents. Remember Mohamad Merah - he got his crazy ideas from somewhere.

Note there is a scene that is disturbing - luckily it's acted but I would suggest to not watch the violent part.

You are living proof that you can learn nothing in a liberal education. If you ever read the Koran you would know that it directs its followers to kill infidels and Mohamed did kill infidels because he followed the Koran. And the Koran promises paradise to those that kill infidels. I don't know about you but that sounds very different from the Old and New Testaments.
I hope you did not PAY for your education.
Thanks, kpr. By strange coincidence, I had occasion to clip them to another article today, as well.
Me too!!! Seriously, have you thought about writing a book??? You always have lots of great info. Glad you're here for us. ☺
Hmmm, didn’t they promise it was going to be peaceful and non- violent? Throwing stones? Isn’t that what 4 year olds do?
@steven, no i didnt complain when the terrorists used it. the amount they used is small in comparison, israel however used it everywhere and it stayed burning for days, people were losing feet from simply stepping on something they didnt know was lit. israel used it directly in a crowded neighborhood, bombed the un compound and committed every act of war it could think of. yet people here are quick to attack saying they threw this and they threw that.... now exactly how many people were throwing vs how many armed soldiers shooting?
I noticed in this article the writer didn't mention the Molotov Cocktails. I thought that these were just peaceful Muslums out for a morning stroll. I guess the writer has a hidden adjenda and has not been truthful.
Bucky i read about them throwing Molotov Cocktails also in other news on it.
bucky999,
"I noticed in this article the writer didn't mention the Molotov Cocktails."
MSNBC reported just yesterday that the Palestinians said this was going to be a "non-violent" protest. I did not believe that when I read it then, and this only confirms my disbelief. I don't think there has ever been a protest by the Palestinians that has not degenerated into violence.
Where does all the news come from? The answer is, Israel makes up it's own news, where the Jews are always the victims and the Palestinians always start the violence. There are no independent observers allowed in Israel to determine who is at fault. It is very possible that Israel provked the demonstrators, until they responded. Without an independent source, it is impossible to lay blame.
Jerusalem doesn't belong to Israel in the first place. What claim does a Russian immigrant have on a place his ancestors never lived or saw. The entire international community recognizes Jerusalem and the West Bank as belonging to the Palestinians. The original mandate called for an international peace keeping force in Jerusalem, not the IDF.
The UN should gather a force and drive the Israelis back to the pre 1967 borders and strip Israel of its membership, until it can learn to get along with it's neighbors and quit stealing land. Israel is like a rabid dog in the ME.
Yup, and the US can go back to it's pre-treaty etc borders since American's stripped the land from Native Americans.
Emanuelle, when the U.S. stole land from the Native Americans, there was no UN. The UN charter, which Israel is a signatory party, prohibits the settling of occupied land. UN Security Council resolution 242 compel Israel to return occupied territory back to the original countries. Resolutions 256, and 267 state that Israel has no legal claim to Jerusalem and to return East Jerusalem back to the Arabs. Israel has ignored these resolutions for almost 45 years now.
OH!! So it's okay to steal land so long as there isn't a voluntary powerless committee making decrees regarding the bull@!$%# that is unenforcable international law in existence to say something?
My bad. Here I thought everyone was saying stealing is bad, not stealing is bad when someone disapproves. And since I'm sure it's not obvious to you, this entire post is dripping with sarcasm.
I am saying when the UN was founded, it was chartered to bring about international law. the UN is not powerless, and has used force quite a few times to enforce resolutions, like expelling Iraq from Kuwait, repelling the North Korean invasion of the South. But, for some strange reason, they don't want to use force or even the threat of force against Israel.
The UN has no power outside of sactions. Really? What military do they have? The UN is the equivalent of a boys club that says "Everyone wear a sweater vest." And when someone doesn't, nothing really happens but a silly slap on the wrist.
Also, resolution 256 was a warning that attacks similar to that launched by Israel on Jordan in 1968 would be a failure to with resolutions. Nothing about borders. Nice try, though. Bringing up resolutions from the 1960's to further your drivel that the UN wasn't established so the USA was totally okay in stealing land from Native Americans is laughable, at best. More amusing? Your follow up. Thank you. I needed a laugh.
And before you reply, this entire "stealing" propoganda has nothing to do with the basis for the "protest." The protestors got violent, the military reacted. Same stuff that happens in Britain, France, USA, and any other nation to keep order.
For the palestinians, Molotav Cocktails are not violent, they're party favors. And the party is just getting started. Land Day, baby!!!!!!
Ever get hit by a water cannon - it can kill you, you will fall and depending on how your head lands, you may be dead. You start with the Palestinians having a peaceful protest, here come the Israeli RIOT POLICE, armed to the gills - what would you do? You have either lost a relative or a friend due to Israeli violence - and the Israeli blockade of humanitarian help for your people.... are you going to sit back and let the RIOT police kill more of your friends or are you going to throw a few Molotov cocktails. I'm not saying that it is right, but NOTHING Israel does in Palestine is right, so you may as well fight because Israel does not understand the word PEACE.
The UN has power under its charter. It derives it military power from its members. Such as when we bombed Libya under the UN mandate. the other two resolutions that I cited do talk about Borders, and 256 says that Israel has no authority to annex Jerusalem. And, the basis of this protest is in fact the stealing of land by Israel.
2000 years and still at it......they are not ever gonna get along hand in hand.......we are kidding ourselves if we think otherwise ......religion drives the middle east.....until they learn how to separate church and state it ain't gonna change.
Agree! Here we have these PEACEFUL palestinians, peacefully demonstrating at the border of israel, peacefully holding their cocktails, when all of a sudden evil Israelis force them to start throwing the cocktails. The palestinians were surprised, what were they supposed to do, go home? Because its so reasonable to simply bring molotov cocktails to the border of other countries you want to obliterate. I just know they threw the rocks and cocktails in a peaceful way.
So a nice peaceful protest was promised.
And stones and molotov cocktails were given.
Kudos to the Lebanese govt. and others who prevented people from reaching the border.
Stone and Molotov throwing are not ways to achieve your goals.
Archeim: can you honestly say you have personally thrown molotov cocktail before? If not, you do not have rights to speak. Cocktail give person negotiation advantage. Just last week, I was in Tehran, at Crazy Sinbad's House of Discount Appliances to buy a camel washer. Crazy Sinbad no want to give 10% discount. So I throw cocktail, destroying entire inventory. I get camel washer for free! I did lose my 12 year old wife in ensuing inferno, but hey! Free washer! And Crazy Sinbad learned good lesson.
Stoo - upvoted +1 for the laughs. Laughs are always welcome :)
Well what a shocking development, a protest in one of the most tense places broke out in violence, I guess the real tragic thing is that A most people will think it was all pre-planned or B that it truly comes as a surprise. To which I have to say, that if the violence was pre-planned then surly it would have been worse, I mean Palestinians seem to have no problem finding guns to shoot in the air on birthdays and so on, so why not break them out at a protest? It’d give the first Israeli responders a surprise wouldn’t it? And second obviously this was going to break out in violence, hell most people who go to Jerusalem even on a good day say that the tension is so thick you can cut it with a knife.
The palestinians only use just enough violence to cause a response from Israel in self-defense so that the pals can then go into "victim mode" screaming about how they were just minding their own business when the Israelis came out of nowhere and attacked. I'm surprise we haven't seen the obligatory photo of the teddy bear/ mickey mouse doll thrown into the carnage. Wait for it...
yourspellcheck. Israel responds to a stoning by a bombing. They go overboard in their response.
spellcheck: I'll abbreviate my earlier post for the vacuous attention span shown by pro-Israeli posters:
The Israeli rejection of the UN War Crimes Report, fingering Israel for war crimes (not the other way around) is old news - the pictures tell what happened, dead Palestinian children - now that is a war crime.
http://www.france24.com/en/20100921-un-criticises-israel-hamas-inadequate-war-crimes-probes-goldstone-gaza-offensive
Does this seem like a fair "war?" 1,400 to 13 (ten of whom were soldiers)
The Palestinian Authority has said that it:
link: http://www.haaretz.com/news/pa-won-t-oppose-war-crimes-trials-for-hamas-militants-1.5971
It bothers me to see a dead child from any country, but Israel takes the cake! Your tax dollars put a bullet in those children's heads, or paid for the Hellfire Missile....at least I'm ashamed that my tax dollars are doing this in any country, to any civilians.
And as soon as the militants stop hiding behind and amongst children, we will see a considerable decrease in civilian deaths and an increase in militant deaths. I'm not going to hold my breath on that happening anytime soon.
Too much restraint. Arabs read it as a sign of weakness. Instead of rubber bullets and tear gas, IDF should have fired the .50 machine guns they have atop every armored vehicle. In that region, force and ruthlessness were always respected, and softness always disrespected.
Anonymous User
“IDF should have fired the .50 machine guns”
Wow what a good idea, and I’d bet if the Arabs were to shoot at the IDF then you’d be one of the first calling them terrorists right?
You mean use real bullets like Assad does in Syria?
I don't understand why people in this country so fully support one radical middle-eastern group of people and so are so overtly hostile towards another. I'm sure everyone here has heard radicals in this country speaking in support of genocide, about nuking Iraq/Iran, specifically "turning their country into a sheet of glass". At the same time these people decry the Palesinian radicals that say the state of Israel does not have the right to exist.
Personally I say a pox on both their houses. It is against my "religious beliefs" and an assult on my sences that any of my tax money go to the support or condemnation of either of these bronze-age countries.
To those that will rebut that we have some moral responsibility to defend Isreal I say we defend them for the same reason and in the same manner as we have "defend" everyone else throughout history. We get the church to step in to convince the common man that taking a side is gods will. That allows cover so the natural resorces of a region can be stripped from the country and its inhabitants and deposited into the capitalists accounts. Tale as old as time.
You can't be overly hostile towards Muslims to match their hostility towards Infidels.
Remember 9/11!
"Infidel" is a Latin word, one that means "a person without faith." It does not care which "faith" that person adheres too. The Qur'an is meant to be read only in its original Arabic - bad English translations say "infidel," good ones say a person who has no faith, no "God." It does not matter if a person calls their "god," Allah, Yahweh, Jehovah, God, etc... it encompasses the faiths of Islam, Christianity and Judaism.

The Current Killings in Syria, BOTH SIDES,
EACH Side KILLING The Other Side,
IS PURELY Islamic....Muslim Killers, BOTH Sides
Shi'a Killing Sunni and Sunni Killing Shi'a....
The Sunni Countries Are Talking about Sending Soldiers To Help The Syrian Sunni,
and
The Shi'a Countries Are Talking about Sending Soldiers To Help The Shi'a Syrians....
The Question NOW, IS
WILL The U.N. Send Troops, or Support in ANY WAY,
ONE Side -OVER- The OTHER Side??!!
You SAY NO, the U.N. will NOT go into Syria.....!!
then, ALSO NO
The U.N. is NOT going into Israel or The West Bank and Gaza....;
Tell tehm to ask their "Syrain brothers & sisters" about protesting. There won't be any sissy ass tear gas. More like arrest, torture, execution, bombing, pure terror....I guess that's not an issue though...Just keep hating the Israelis because that's EASY instead of facing your REAL PROBLEMS which are EDUCATION, JOBS, FREEDOM, JUSTICE, RULE OF LAW...Try those or Instead Just keep hating and looking for more war,,,
Iran in the "Bronze Age?" Sheltered much? Their highways rival the Autobahn - and so clean, you could eat off of them. It's a beautiful country.... what is the US? Stripmalls and Wal-Marts... whoa, we have it great! ... We've been a country for a mere blip in Persian time...and we are bankrupt - fiscally and morally - morally in the sense that we think we are USA #1, sure our kids can't count, our industry is gone but we have Wal-Mart - go USA!
Yeah .....nobody saw this coming. It's kind of like two different species of ants running across each other in the wild. What did you think was going to happen ?
Have you ever met or seen a Palestinian with a job? Exactly and furthermore, Palestinians are considered the lowest form of human life second only to Jews by their Muslim Brothers. Wake up - An Arab won't even look at a Palestinian but some of you whack jobs expect the Jews to accommodate them when the Arabs and Persians won't.
Point so well made. They are treated as 5th class in neighboring Jordan - and the truth shall set you free!
@Kirk- I don't expect the Israelis to accomadate them at all. Just simply return the land they stole, compensate the 750,000 original refuges they created, and for once follow International Law and UNSC resolutions. Is that really to much to ask? I love this country but Americans have got to be the stupidest, most ethnocentric, ignorant people on the planet. If you went on vacation and returned only to find out that I have moved into your house and paid armed guards to protect me would you just hang your head and sulk or fight for what is yours? Oh and yes I have seen many Palestinians with jobs, many I'm sure with better jobs than yourself. Have you ever seen a racist named Kirk? He's considered the lowest life form even by his Klan brothers
Stew - Apparently you have not read your history - can you name what country the Palestinians fled after they tried to over throw the country? Probably not, and furthermore you are a hypocrite - lead by example and give your home (trailer) and the lot it sits on back to the native Americans - you are a talker and talk is cheap - now go do the right thing and join the military and do something useful with your life
Unfortunately this is true. If a Palestinian women marries a Kuwatti or Jordanian man then their child is not considered Kuwatti or Jordanian. The women who marries is never even considered a citizen either. The families consider her no more than a maid, she has no rights and no standing in the community. The Arab world really doesn't want the Palestinians and would prefer them to be Israel's problem. Look at the size of the middle east, there is pleanty of land for everyone. If the Arabs really wanted peace with Israel then it would have happened by now. The Arabs have constantly lied to Israel and the US about deals that would work within the peace process. If Israel goes back to the 67 borders then they have no buffer zone to protect themselves. We all know that the Arab world can not be trusted because there are no real leaders who can make decisions and make life better for their masses. That is why some of them, most of them still live in the 12th century, no running water, no electricity, no education, no future, nothing to look forward to.
UNfortunately Sean your wrong. My daughter is considered Jewish and I am married to a christian woman. You should read a little more and educate yourself about religions, especially before you make comments you are not able to support. Not all Jews are Hadassic, but they all live together in harmony. There are different entities in Judism and they do not include Prejudice to women or himosexuals. In the Moslem world women are treaed as second class citizens and homosexuals are murdered.
This could of been a news article form 1970. Same thing every day. Let them fight to the finish with no intervention and get it concluded.
Keep the American munitions, military, and money out of Israel's pants for once, and let Egypt and Syria squeeze the Zionist boil until it pops.
I actually think he's just another Arab who is a hater and jealous of our relationship with Israel.
I can't wait until Israel has no running water, only a bit from desalination because Iran turned off the tap! Maybe then Israel will be more amenable to peace and negotiating - can't hit Iran with a nuke unless you like your water with enriched uranium!
Israel needs ONLY to Prevent a NUKE in Iranian Control,
The Iranians can be "kept busy", by a *friendly power*, That might be "helping" Iran's Enemies....
An Old Arab Proverb, "The Enemy of My Enemy, IS MY FRIEND"....
Iran HAS NON-Persian Enemies....
Israel WILL BE a GOOD FRIEND to Iran's Enemies....
I say that Israel should take a cue from their arab neighbours and mow down the protestors. Simply open fire.
Like you couldn't see this happening
Why isn't the headline "PALESTINIANS THROW STONES DURING HOLIDAY".....?
Gee I just wonder. No bias or agenda here is there "msnbc.com staff and news services"...?
You can always go to FOXnews for the wonderful Israeli love fest where history is irrelevant to the pro-Zionist editors.
Of course the law breaking Israeli land thieves are using tear gas and water cannons against people protesting Grand Theft- the Zionists are the militarized nuclear mafia of the Mideast propped up by the hypocritical Americans.
I have seen people accuse DOU44 as being a Nazi? People have said: "I know what DOU means." Well, I don't know what it means, Deutchland ? ? 44..... Someone please tell me, because he is making a better case against the Israeli Thug Police than the rest of you....
No sarc... I don't know what it means.... on the other hand, if I called myself "Hamas#1" - I'd get railed on even if what I said was true... Don't judge a book by its cover... but what is DOU?
This is what came back on my search:

HEY DOU44 - no clue what your name means but just looked up your comments and like your style. I sent you a friend request - whatever DOU44 is, I don't care, you also fight for the underdog - and not just on the Israeli/Palestinian issue! .... for the haters, I already said, you can't judge a book by its cover - look up his comments...more insightful than most of what has been said so far.
Never mind haters, pacifist that I am, I have no problem with gun ownership, especially mine, - a WWII gun is called a DOU.44? Like your Grandfathers or fathers or great-grandfathers didn't pull guns off of Nazi's when they had the chance. My grandfather (didn't really know him and he was a jerk) but he had German guns too...that he pulled off a dead soldiers..., owning an old gun does not make you a Nazi, maybe it's your favorite gun, who cares, .... I'll go by "Walther PPK/S" from now on....does that change the fact that I stand by the underdog? ridiculous convo again...
Israel is the size of New Jersey in land, the 5th smallest State in the US. The Arab world is larger than the United States. So when you say you stand by the underdog I am wondering what you are talking about? Here is a map to show you the difference in sizes. By the Way the population of the Arab world is 372 million compared to 7 million people of Israel. That means Israel has 365 million fewer people and is 1/10,000 the land size. So who do you think is the underdog? Here is a land map for you to look at. Don't tell us how intelligent Dou44 is, we all know that he is not intelligent at all and only a bigot.
Look at what Israel has done for the World, between the Jewish Scientist, teachers, and Jewish doctors! A Jewish Doctor invented the Pill, another Jewish Doctor invented the Polio vaccine, and Jewish people have won many nobel prizes. What has the Arab's contributed to the world besides suicide bombers and Jihad? The next time your laying in bed of a weekend morning making love to a woman that doesn't have polio you should thank the Jewish people.
Shame on MSNBC for this blatantly misleading headline! It is clear that the Palestinian stone-throwers are the instigators here, not the IDF. As a liberal, I want to be able to come to MSNBC for honest, left-leaning coverage of the world, but the honesty is missing here.
Just out of curiosity, how can you admit to wanting to read left leaning news and then wonder where the honesty is?
It's either the truth, or skewed. If it's left leaning or right leaning, there goes any chance for 100% honesty.
When I say left-leaning, it is more about what is covered than how things are covered. I expect honest news. I don't find everything Sarah Palin or Rick Santorum say to be news-worthy and I choose to seek my news from sources that cover things of interest to me. No one source can cover every topic. I expect the chosen topics to be covered honestly from anyone that calls himself or herself a journalist. This article is not news. It is blatant anti-Israeli propaganda and it is shameful.
If you want news - learn foreign languages.... Merkel said that the American school system (and I am paraphrasing) was to make sheeple for the government.... so true... our kids can't count, can't do science, and can't speak to people from other countries in that country's language... sheeple people (mission accomplished)
It would be good if you had some cred! Do you know what Cred is? Credibility! You can't spell and you make IGNORANT COMMENTS that make no sense and are prejudice. Why don't you try not being the prejudice hateful person and contribute truth instead of trying to make up your own history. Then and only then can there be an intelligent conversation.
Using water cannons is probably just giving these people a much needed bath. Israel you can do better than that.
You've never been to a Moslem area, have you? Whatever else might be true, Moslems tend to have better personal hygiene than non-Moslems as a matter of religious practice.
Obviously you've never met a Bedouin, Tetrapoda.
Well, if we are talking about smell, let's throw the French in the mix too - seriously, how ridiculous is this conversation getting?
Muslim has brainwashed the world "general opinion" thru an obviously biased media to belive in an "occupied land"...
Under international law it is "Occupied land" It has nothing to do with "teh mooslims" It is NOT "disputed lands" Because the state of Israel accepted the UN partition plan in 1948.
Israel did accept it, but the Arabs didn't.
Israel accepted someone elses land. Of course they would accept it, that is the same as money for nothing. Since that time, Israel has started wars, such as the 1967 war and enlarged their land and water holdings. They are now occupying Palestinian land, in violation of UN accords.
The UN should step in with the armies and air forces of several nations and drive the Israelis back to the 1948 borders of the original mandate. If Israel refuses or resists, drive the IDF into the sea. The only thing Israel understands is force.
The Israelis DO Understand *Warfare*....
Their Enemies....NOT so Good....
At This Moment,
The Shi'a of Syria, Understand *Warfare*....
Their Sunni Syrian "Enemies"....NOT so Good....
ALSO at This Moment,
The Turks understand *Warfare*
Their Kurdish "Enemies"....NOT so Good....
...and there are MORE....
Ralph, on the Six Day War get educated.

Wow! Anytime religious zealots of any kind get fired up it's a real mess. Without religion there would be peace.
Oh, yes, the Communists in China and Russia were prime examples of your theory.
Whenever a peaceful protest turns violent the government has to stop it to protect its citizens. The poor Palestinians that throw rocks and molotov cocktails wonder why they Israeli forces had to stop it. If these idiots had half a brain they would know once the trouble makers began to make trouble it would be stopped. Look at how they Syrian government stops its citizens from peaceful protests, Iran allows it citizens to protest all the time without any government intervention.
Where in the world to these rats think they are they they can protest and destroy other peoples property. The organizers who told the morons to start trouble should be punished.
Israel should abandon all attempts to negotiate and just concentrate on building their country, their economy, and higher walls. They should cut off all contacts with the Palestinians, deny them entrance to Israeli hospitals, teach them nothing more about farming in the desert and allow none in to work there. Enough with them. Good fences make good neighbors.
Israel's got a great economy based on much-needed high tech and medical advances. Just like the people crossing deserts and risking their lives to come to Europe and the US, people do so to come to Israel. It's also the best place in the ME for gays and lesbians.
Just Israel being Israel
Yayyyy religion!
Israel is morally dead. Time to bury the corpse.
How is it morally wrong to use non-lethal force to violent protest? Wouldn't those using violent protest be the ones on shaky moral ground?
Non-lethal force to STOP violent protest, rather.
Israel is morally dead and are guilty of worse terrorism and human rights crimes than any other country or terrorist group out there. Something does need to be done to stop them.
The protestors in this case should not have become violent as they did. However, they have been pushed. How many of them have been murdered by Israel in recent history? They feel that their only recourse is to get violent because the countries who can help them, such as the U.S. and Great Britain, are siding with Israel because they are afraid that Israel will attack them as well.
I see people making comments about this such as;
"The Koran instructs Islamic people to attack infidels and specifically Jews and Christians. Israel will never be accepted by Islam and Palestinians, which are blindly lead around by Radical Islamic groups like Hamas or Hezbollah."
However true that comment is we have to look at the other side as well. I can turn that comment around and have the same truth. The Bible instructs people to attack nonbelievers and those who don't do what they say. Pagans and other religions will never be accepted by Christians and Jews.
So, where does it all end? We need to learn to put ancient myths and fairy tales behind us and co-exist in peace. If you follow any religion and that religion dictates that one person is better than another just on grounds of religious choice, then you really need to question the motives of your religious beliefs.
Something major is about to happen in the world and now is the time for all people to decide for themselves what they believe and stop following blindly ancient beliefs which were born of war and hate.
Be nice to one another.
I can't agree with the direction protesting has taken. In other countries or in the United States. Protestors these days make their false claims of being nonviolent and peaceful yet, they attack and are anything but nonviolent.
Throwing objects, spitting, yelling obscenities, threats and waving weapons around is not peaceful. Protestors do these things, antagonizing the authorities to the point where they must stop them and then the protestors get pissed even more when they are rightly arrested for breaking laws.
NOTHING can be changed through protesting... NOTHING. ... Rethink the situation. Change your tactics or go home.
The US needs to stop giving Israel huge amount of "foreign aid" each year. Israel continues to steal Palestinian land with US compliance and backing.
What land did Israel steal? I thought that Israel was attacked by 6 million Arabs in 1967? They defended themselves. Your comments make no sense at all. You seem like a stupid sheep making stupid comments like this. Are you KKK or just plain dumb?
Russin CA you don't know what the hell you'er saying about ISREAL.
stewgotts and others: The "Palestinians" didn't own 90% of the land in Israel at the partition. The Ottoman Empire (Turkish NOT Arabs) owned 80+% as absentee landlords. The Zionists legally BOUGHT the land they had with $$ that the Arabs gladly took. Then the Ottomans sided with the Germans in WWI and England won all their occupied imperial territory and gave Israel TO THE JORDAN RIVER to the Jews. The Jews lived in those lands since the time of the pharaohs but the Muslims drove them out, just as they are now driving out the Christians who have lived there since the time of Christ.
Remember, Mohammed lived in the late 600s, so Islam is Johnny-come-late to the party. And our own Mark Twain said that "the Holy Land sits in sackcloth and ashes," nearly depopulated malarial swamp in 1870s. That was under the stewardship of the Ottomans and the lazy Arabs, who, if you note, have failed to develop any economy if they don't have oil to be removed from the earth by Western technology. It was the Zionist who made the desert bloom and drained the swamps, to the amazement of the whole world.
That's the history of Muslim lands. Look at a world map. Israel is a TINY bit of the ME and the offenses of Muslim countries are waaaaaay worse, yet MSNBC jumps on some justified, non-lethal tear gas.
Rachel, the Ottoman empire ceased to exist 30 years before the partition of Palestine. The Zionist did not legally buy the land, they occupied it. England did not give Israel the land to the JORDAN River, the West Bank was given to the Palestinians. The Jews did not live on that land since the time of the Pharaohs. It was the Romans and Christians that drove the Jews out, it was not the Muslims.
Raddave, the British owned Palestine, won fair and square when the Turks joined the Huns to rampage across the world in WWI. They had the right to give the land to the Jews and had promised the land to the Jordan river to the Jews. That's right! All the West Bank.
That is a lie Rachel, the west bank was promised to the Palestinians. The British were trying to limit the immigration of Jews to the area and after WWII were putting Jews in detention camps in Palestine because they felt there were too many immigrating. Nice re-write of history.
raddave almost as good as your rewrites of history.
Why don't you educate yourself before you open you mouth? You should learn the history before you make it up yourself. It was with Jordan, not the Palestinians. This land was part of Jordan. Get your history right. The land was called Palastine.
On November 29, 1947, the United Nations General Assembly approved a plan which partitioned the British Mandate of Palestine into two states: one Jewish and one Arab. Each state would be composed of three major sections, linked by extraterritorial crossroads, plus an Arab enclave at Jaffa. The Greater Jerusalem area would fall under international control.
Partition between Israel and Jordan
After partition, the fight for Jerusalem escalated, with heavy casualties among both fighters and civilians on the British, Jewish, and Arab sides. By the end of March 1948, just before the British withdrawal, and with the British increasingly reluctant to intervene, the roads to Jerusalem were cut off by Arab irregulars, placing the Jewish population of the city under siege. The siege was eventually broken, though massacres of civilians occurred on both sides,[citation needed] before the 1948 Arab-Israeli War began with the end of the British Mandate in May 1948.
The 1948 Arab-Israeli War led to massive displacement of Arab and Jewish populations. According to Benny Morris, due to mob and militia violence on both sides, 1,500 of the 3,500 (mostly ultra-Orthodox) Jews in the Old City evacuated to west Jerusalem as a unit.[34][35] See also Jewish Quarter. The comparatively populous Arab village of Lifta (today within the bounds of Jerusalem) was captured by Israeli troops in 1948, and its residents were loaded on trucks and taken to East Jerusalem.[34][36][37] The villages of Deir Yassin, Ein Karem and Malcha, as well as neighborhoods to the west of Jerusalem's Old City such as Talbiya,Katamon, Baka, Mamilla and Abu Tor, also came under Israeli control, and their residents were forcibly displaced;[citation needed] in some cases, as documented by Israeli historian Benny Morris and Palestinian historian Walid Khalidi, among others, expulsions and massacres occurred.[34][38]
In May 1948 the US Consul, Thomas C. Wasson, was assassinated outside the YMCA building. Four months later the UN mediator, Count Bernadotte, was also shot dead in the Katamon district of Jerusalem by the Jewish Stern Group.[citation needed]
Division between Jordan and Israel (1948–1967)

The United Nations proposed, in its 1947 plan for the partition of Palestine, for Jerusalem to be a city under international administration. The city was to be completely surrounded by the Arab state, with only a highway to connect international Jerusalem to the Jewish state.
Following the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, Jerusalem was divided. The Western half of the New City became part of the newly formed state of Israel, while the eastern half, along with the Old City, was annexed by Jordan. According to David Guinn,
According to Gerald M. Steinberg, Jordan ransacked 57 ancient synagogues, libraries and centers of religious study in the Old City Of Jerusalem, 12 were totally and deliberately destroyed. Those that remained standing were defaced, used for housing of both people and animals. Appeals were made to the United Nations and in the international community to declare the Old City to be an 'open city' and stop this destruction, but there was no response.[40] (See also Hurva Synagogue)
It should be added, as noted by David Guinn,
On January 23, 1950, the Knesset passed a resolution that stated Jerusalem was the capital of Israel.[41] It is also the largest city in the country.
And what about your post goes against what I said? Not a damned thing.
@onecookie
Now you are relying on Wiki to prove your argument, seriously.... [citation needed] .... give it up now, you are embarrassing yourself while attacking other people who have VERY valid comments - (go raddave.)
You are not nice, you attack, and attack with NOTHING to back you up, until you tried too ...with Wiki? I'm going to go write a Wiki article on the fact that cancer cells vibrate at a different frequency than normal human cells (that is a true statement)... but I can go write it now and leave it at [needs citation].....
We understand your personal beliefs - I won't change your mind or try too, no matter how much I, personally, disagree with you.... you have given me only opinions, no hard facts [needs citation].
Really, opinions? I gave you the FACTS. Are you simple? Those are the facts. Is it my opinion that Israel has 7 million people, compared top 365 million arabs surrounding them? Is it my opinion that Israel is the size of New Jersey and the Arab World is larger the the US? Are they only opinions? You speak with a forked tongue! Do you know what that means? You said that you support the underdog, did you not? Your whole argument is based upon history that you made up! there is nothing that you stated in any book or record anywhere. So tell me why you think you have to come here and absolutely lie about everything? Is Israel not the underdog?
