Members of the group Afghan Young Women for Change take part in a protest denouncing violence against women in Kabul, Afghanistan Saturday.
Members of Afghan Young Women for Change staged a protest march in Afghanistan's capital Kabul Saturday, denouncing violence against women, according to AFP photographs.
Some among the group of about 30 women were pictured holding placards that read "Where is justice?"
They took to the streets following the killing of five Afghan women in less than a month in three provinces of the country, AFP said.
Concern is mounting among some Western officials, activists and some of the country's lawmakers that women's rights could be compromised under any power-sharing deal between the government and the Taliban, which President Hamid Karzai has been seeking to end the war, Reuters reported.

Afghan police keep watch from behind a wire fence during the protest.
Activists were outraged last month when Karzai appeared to back recommendations from his powerful clerics, the Ulema Council, to segregate the sexes and allow husbands to beat wives under certain circumstances, reminiscent of Taliban rule, Reuters said.
The Islamist group banned women from most work, education and the right to vote during their 1996-2001 rule, laws which halted Koofi's medical studies following her bachelor degree in law and political science.

And there other indications that Karzai and his government, by extending an olive branch to the Taliban, have started to clamp down on political rights.
Lawmaker Fawzia Koofi has announced she will stand for the Afghan presidency at the next election.
Koofi -- lucky to be alive after she was condemned to die shortly after birth for being a girl -- has become an outspoken Afghan member of parliament and a champion of women's rights.
The 36-year-old expects harsh opposition, threats of violence and pressure against her family as her campaign gets underway to replace Karzai, who must step down that year after serving the constitutional limit of two consecutive terms.
"I am sure my campaign will be the noisiest. I will have lots of troubles against me," the politician from the country's remote northeastern Badakhshan province told Reuters in an interview this week.
"It's very easy to terrorize a woman in Afghanistan. It's very easy to create accusations against a woman, and then her political life will be finished," she added.
Reuters contributed to this report.

I say more power to this brave woman for standing up. I wish her and all of the women of this backwards country the best of luck in this battle for equal rights.
I hpe the result they achieve is going to be worth the pain they will endure.
She would be lucky if JUST her political life is finished. Once the Taliban come back then I fear for each and every Afghan trying to modernize or reform that society. They will be marked for death.
This will be the first time in a long time that I have an answer to why we are still there. There needs to be a little more firght and these women are starting to reclaim their identity. Good for them. There is a great risk when fighting against a sociopathological disorder, and this is like the tip of the sun peeking out over the dawn of darkness.
It is time for them to stick up for their rights. I am certain that there is a portion of humane Afghanistanis who support them, and there is the Taliban who will accuse them of prostitution and want to kill them. When I see them stand up for themselves against doctrinal tyranny I am more inclined to support our prolonged efforts. I hope our troops agree.
First thing they have to do is remove that head scarf. How can you truly say your're not "oppresses"when you have to cover your hair / face, while men don't. Time to ditch ancient religous folklore that makes no sense.
For these poor women this is an exercise in futility. On the horizon is the end of the U.S. presence in Afghanistan along with their NATO allies. Soon after, the Taliban will emerge initially as co-rulers then take over completely. Then, all will be as it was before. Consequently, the Taliban will reap the benefit of all that ordinance (just like Viet Nam) that the U.S. left behind for use by the Afghan military.
By then Karzai will have left Afghanistan for his palatial estate (purchased with looted money) in London.
Yeah ....its commendable ...but its a pipe dream .....
rasmasyen
Part of the reason there are problems in the world is ignorance of what is really going on. People making assumptions without wanting to know the real story. Check out the third paragraph in this first link. Then decide weather the woman in the second link looks oppressed.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:3504796495_b-spring-fest-016.jpg
One other thing rasmasean. By stating "the first thing they need to do", you are no better than those who they are protesting against. Don't tell them what they need to do. They've got enough of that going on.
It's a shame that these brave women will be raped and beaten and slaughtered by the Taliban. Nice that the US gets respect for trying to help them. Oh, my bad, we get criticized for trying to give them human rights.
Although we are not the standard bearer for woman's rights as women couldn't vote or own property for the 1st 130+ years of the US's existence, I wish these women the strength to move forward. I couldn't help but notice the male soldiers with automatic weapons--behind barbed wire.
Right On !!! s/b; A CRIME to physically harm Any Woman, Any Where.......
Koofi is extremely brave. While I believe as she does, I know I wouldn't have the courage to run for political office in that country.
we have wasted thousands of our solder's lives, 50 thousand or more serious wounded, 10 thousand disabled for life, over a trillion taxpayer dollars; and now the government we helped in power, wants to make peace with the Taliban and return to a 6th century theocracy; are we nuts or just plain stupid; get the hell out NOW NOW NOW .
Let us hope that Karzai does not get to enjoy his looted millions and that he is jailed for corruption the very moment he leaves office.
A woman can still be emancipated and self-empowered while wearing a head scarf.
Social norms vary from country to country, including concepts of decent dress, and sexual differences abound. In the United States, woman cover their breasts, even on the beach. On many European countries, topless woman on the beach are common.
Are American woman oppressed?
Anyway, my [metaphorical] hat is off to these woman, who have the courage to speak out against the violence against women in Afghan society.
the head scarfs are from the old testament, women covered their hair in order not to temp the fallen angles; most of the Koran is taken from the books of the old testament.
@wichasha: great point, thanks for those links.
Grandma used to wear a headscarf and she was from Yorkshire.

I'd bet 200 years ago the idea a completely desegregated in terms of race, independent women and all races allowed to vote, etc. would also have been considered a pipe dream in the USA.
If you think the U.S. military presence is helping these women protest, then you are dead wrong. The Taliban can easily attack these women at nights when the soiders are in their barracks. These types of suffrage movements needs to stem from the people. Women in this case, foreign nations trying to push democracy down domestic throats never really had any results.
This article is a joke!
Islam does not give justice to women and minorities!
Look at all Muslim nations especially ME, Afghanistan, Pakistan and some other nations!
It doesn't matter if our soldiers are there or not....I believe they are trained to 'ignore' anything that they see as part of the Afghanistan culture...the soldiers are there just to root out the 'insurgents'....No wonder some of our soldiers are having problems of dealing with what they see over there....Think about a soldier who has children and/or moms-sisters-wives and seeing what is most likely happening but is 'helpless' to stop it because of their culture.....and things will be worse when they are gone.....
I really do feel empathy for those women.
I hope that women from all over the country get behind her a fast or I fear it will be a short run for the presidency sadly.
She will need help from men as well as women and in that country its not gonna be an easy fight.
I Wish her and the people the best and if she succeeds it could transform the country for the good.
Funny what education can do in the right hands.
Last I checked the middle eastern Muslim culture was in general tollerant of this. Good luck changing it.
Dome...correctly stated...The entire world should know by now that cruelty and subjugation of women is a part of the culture of islam. As long as that hate filled, corrupt, cruel religious culture persists killing and abuse of women will continue. Interesting that there seems to be no one, or no group in the world willing to stand up to islam and stamp out this hideous, cruel culture. Here in America we foolishly go overboard to sanctify treatment of any and all minorities and guard every right, but allow the hateful culture of islam to flourish and the cruelty of this culture to continue unchecked.
You'd better read what laws the GOP/TPers are trying to enact to deprive women of equal rights and liberty. Not as bad yet as what these women are going through but it's going in that direction.
Yeah, and Ann Romney never worked a day in her life. Just had to open your trap with your democrap rantings.
Ann Romney has domestic help. I am a stay at home mom and I agree that she does NOT work.
Please look into the law that Scott Walker signed last week, which limits a woman's ability to sue for equal pay. Then tell me that the GOP aren't trying to take away women's rights!
I agree with Jack. The treatment is worse in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and some other ME nations.
Women are treated as child manufacturing and working slaves!
Ask the Russians who have had their own experience there. Ask them what happened after they pulled out. Questions like: what did the Muslims do with all those female school uniforms? Use them for firewood?
30 woman protest....wow, what a story!
Thirty courageous women, Bill. It reminds me of the man who faced down a tank in Tian-an-men Square.
What are you doing to achieve justice and freedom in our world?
Yeah Bill H why don't they just accept the injustice and take their beating like good women. If everyone thought like you we would all still be living under monarchs. At least they have the courage to stand up for what is right.
Our original fight in Afghanistan was against the Taliban because they were protecting Osama Bin Laden and patting him on the back for his success....if we leave that country, and the Taliban still have any governmental authority then we have failed. Attacking Afghanistan made sense, and Hamid Karzei is a weenie.
Everybody by now should know that Iraq was muddled into it because of "W's" personal vendetta against Saddam. This action greatly reduced our ability to do it right in Afghanistan. Good Luck to this young woman and her people!
Do what right in Afghanistan? The Taliban was routed to the point of near extinction. Karzai allowed them to grow from the ashes because he is a corrupt buffoon.
Saddam sponsored terrorism and killed hundreds of thousands off people simply because he wanted to. Not to mention he violated the cease fire agreement at least 14 times.
What's going to be interesting is to see Karzai relinquish power or will he use his new found alliance to stay? Or will the Taliban simply cut off his head and seize power? These women should be thinking of lives as a refugee.
The bravery of these women is inspiring.
I wonder what these backward, mysogynistic societies think their world would be like if they finally succeed in destroying all their females. No second generation, dudes! Wake up. You were all born of women. Until they can figure out how get a man pregnant, they'd better realize women have value. Oh, wait, they don't believe in science either. I guess no pregnant men. So sad for them.
And Republicans and Democrats are saying there is no War on Women?
There has been a war on women since the first woman walked on this earth. (submissive Eve; or my favorite, the rebellious, demonized, Lilleth. She was really the first woman until she was replaced when she said, no way to Adam and wanted to be on top.) It seems you can not say no if you are woman or you can not be on top. I challenge that.
No, you can not shove religion down my throat, No you can not keep me pregnant when I don't want to be. No you can not sideline me without a vote, No you can not keep me from supporting my Afghan sistrers and NO NO NO I will not shut up and go away and NO NO NO I will not vote Republican.
It is important for American women to not lose ground in our battle for equality and to support the other women who have a more difficult path since they have not yet found their ground.
We have to keep at it or Romney and the Taliban will try to put us in our "place".
We are one election away from experiencing Romney's Talibanesque tactics against women.
All in the name of religion. It appears to me that religious men create war on women.
BTW, Catholic church, you raised me in your catechism (more like cataclysm) and I watched those altar boys wondering why I as a girl could not be an altar "person". I found out when I got older. You can not push your dogma on me in my adult life. You are just afraid your coffers are empty because people like me do not let you scare and push us around any more.
My mother regrets putting me in catachism/cataclysm.
She became less afraid of men in white dresses as she got older.
since Obama took office, Women's unemployment rate has worsened by 27%. Earnings by women have dropped by 32%. Taxes paid by women have gone up about 11% (federal).
So...it's fun to huff and puff about women's rights, but if you want to see an accurate picture of what women go through in the US, research how things have gone for them in totally democrat controlled Michigan over the last 50 years.
"It is important for American women to not lose ground in our battle for equality"...under Obama, the % of earnings between men and women: Women have actually lost ground. These statistics have been reported by all major networks.
I have a daughter, 2 stepdaughters I love as my own. 3 granddaughters, 6 nieces. I love them all and DO NOT want them to accept anything less than equality. When my daughter was born in 1974, I was a liberal Democrat. I began to research the state of things for women. Let me tell you, Democrats hate women. Call Michelle Bachman or Sarah Palin. Call Romney's wife, who the democrats say "never worked a day in her life" as she raised 5 kids. This is how Democrats treat women.
Don't believe me, I understand. You sound intelligent. Just for fun research these thing yourself. Be honest...leave your emotions behind for a little while. Frankly, you are in such a minority that nobody cares how you vote. Nobody is interested in impregnating you. Supporting your sisters in Afghanistan means going WWII on the Taliban, and your boy doesn't have the seeds for it. You don't need to take up religion. But for your own edification just quietly get to know the truth. It will set you free. I have a good feeling for you from your posts. you are a little paranoid and a lot angry. Me too. You deserve the best. But building your anger from the lies of Male (or any) politicians is a fool's game.
You go sis.
I have been able to sleep at night for the last 4 years while the Democrats have been in office.
Where are Romney's tax returns?
I am not a minority. I am a WOMAN.
And yes, I am angry at the Republicans that almost RUINED the country that I love.
Looks like you have been doing research about me. Figured that would happen due to my IfITellUWhoIAmUCanWireTapMe?. I welcome it, I have nothing to hide. I am happy with my life and my accomplishments as a FREE woman. I am not afraid or ashamed to show my tax returns.
The Patriot Act is disgusting and part of what Republicans did to almost RUIN the country that I love and the freedom that I have.
I am actually proud of my tax returns. Especially 2011 when the Democrats were in office.
It shows an American woman can earn more than her husband when they have the same education and the playing field is level.
Eve was NOT submissive...she did what she wanted not what she was told to do. You may want to use a different example if you want to win the discussion.
I'm saying as a Democrat voting American woman you are in the minority. Not an insult, and not worth being distracted. You tell us all about your opinions, and then seem pissed that anyone presumes to observe your demeanor.
Of course you are free. Your Taxes (assuming you are not running for office) are your private business. I'm not worried about mine, either. This proves what??
I'm amused that you think the Republicans are ruining the country. I believe it was Mark Twain (could have been Will Rogers) who said "the three biggest enemies of the US are the Democrats, the Republicans and the Press." I pretty much agree.
I would consider Obama's stated Socialist goals a ruination of America. In his writings, and in his speeches (pre-running for president) he claims to be foreign born, a muslim and a socialist. Where are Romney's taxes? Maybe they are in the same drawer as Obama's real birth certificate. There, we yelled at each other. Happy now? Romney should come clean as to ALL his life documentation, including birth, school records K-top level earned, and all other public information that applies to him. So should Obama. Fair?
I don't think Obama's muslim socialist views represent America, and I believe he will lose by a landslide in the next election. If you wish to have your earnings low and your taxes high....you will be disappointed.
Arguing is fun, but unrewarding. I see you side stepped my suggestion to check out the facts. I'm not surprised. And I know it takes a lot of checking to get to the real truth.
the patriot act? That all the democrats voted for also? Would hanging our heads and letting Muslims take control of our country make you proud? They would have YOU in a Hijab in 2 minutes, and take away your freedom by lunch time. I know that would make Obama happy, but how about you?
What has Romney's tax returns got to do with you being a woman?
BTW....Obama and the Democrats joined in renewing the Patriot Act. I guess your indignation doesn't cross party lines. They claim it helps to keep us safe unless you're a terrorist. Are you a terrorist?
Do you know that the Obama administration pay women 18% less than men?
The way you and the rest of the Republicans talk, you would have this woman in hell in one second and I would have no freedom at all; much less freedom until noon.
My taxes are already high and a lot higher than the 1%, but I have enough and I can afford to help out defense, education, highways, the underprivileged and especially Planned Parenthood and Title 10.
I have already done my research. I had 8 years of George Bush.
Bush's crony Republican are all still alive. Cheney just got a new heart. I don't want them running the country again.
Don't you remember how it was the last month's of Bush's Reign of Horror?
The banks were collapsing, the retail industry basically died, the stock market was making people jump out of the window and the stock market was headed straight downhill. I don't see any stock brokers jumping out of windows today.
You say I seem pissed; you seem pissed because I am able to post on MSNBC.
I am glad Republicans are researching me and reading my posts.
They should also try and read my best seller of a book, but sadly I don't think many Republicans are capable of comprehending it.
If it's anything like your post we don't have to read it. Here's a synopsis:
Republican's bad. Bush bad. Democrat's good. Obama savior. Blah blah blah.
Tell me the name of your book and I'll give it a shot. I have to tell you, your post offer no great insight. Just more of the leftist uninformed dogma.
"War on women" created by George Stephanopolis and carried out by the Democrats.
Geez, it is a technical book, a computer book.
Can you program a computer? Most weary people can't.
I have been doing so over 30 years and started in Ross Perot's company.
BTW where is Ross this year?
Blah Blah Blah!!
to ifITellUWhoIAmUCanWireTapME?:
i can read technical computer books. i can also remember that over 12 yrs ago the real cause of our economic melt down started under the clinton administration. this was caused by both democrats and republicans. they each had their own laws they got pushed through at this time which caused a lot of the economic problems we saw during the second bush's administration. you're ignorance and reliance on dogma is showing. the democrats pushed through a law saying that banks had to give home loans to people who couldn't afford them. republicans pushed through a law saying that banks could hide the actual details of securities sold based on the loans. these two laws, offered to the banks and those incapable of affording houses so graciously by both major parties brought about the 2008 crash that the media and people like you seem to like to pin on george w bush. he screwed a lot of stuff up, but let's be fair and honest. it was the republican congress, and president bill clinton and all the lovely democrats who supported such bills who were to blame for the economic melt down which started before the year 2000 and only looked like it happened in 2008. again, this all happened before the year 2000. don't blame bush for the clinton administration and republican congress's suicidal laws. i could point out a lot of other ignorant things you've said, but i doubt you'll even bother to look up what i've written here! and i can't really blame you for being a sheeple of the mainstream media. it's the way that almost the whole world is. people like you label americans as stupid because they are media sheeple, but then you go and buy the whole lie about bush's policies causing the economic melt down...maybe you could try coming at this thing from a perspective of education instead of dogma in the future? it would greatly improve your argument...even if your argument gets changed.
We know how you crazy chicks are in the sack,YES!
The Karzai gov't, the Taliban are both cut from the same backwards, ruthless piece of social-fabric! I once believed that our soldiers in Afghanistan would make mush out of these 15th century-minded cave-dwellers!! Why haven't the allied forces run these thugs out of town yet? Yeah, I know, its the politics of it all!!
Heaven help those courageous women who will probably be martyred before all is said and done - Karzai is a coward and a punk! I wish that I was able to relate that to both of his faces!! Once a supporter of this war, I now say, GET OUR SOLDIERS OUT OF THERE!
"Backwards, ruthless piece of social-fabric" sounds like Romney and his campaign to eliminate Planned Parenthood and Title 10, especially the backwards part.
Mitt and Ann Romney epitomize backwards.
Have they ever heard of population control?
So...people shouldn't be FREE to have the number of children they choose? Is population control a law now? Your are a FREE WOMAN, but all other women should check with you before exercising their freedoms. Yup, you are a democrat.
Your boy Obama is the muslim. Romney is a Morman. Both religions had human rights issues in the past, but Mormans got over it. How about muslims?
The earth is too crowded. Can you do math?
Do you know what a geometrical curve is? It is exponential growth and that is how we are populating the earth now. Just because the Romney's are rich and they are Mormon does not make them any less responsible to control the size of their families.
But, they can do what they want in their bedroom, we are in America not China, they are as free as me.
So now YOU are the child police??? Romneys haver 5 boys. You demand they should have aborted 4????
They are not, repeat NOT on WELFARE with 7 kids and 7 different fathers !!
Bravo!!!! Mitt and his wife pay the way for their children...unlike the welfare libs.
how is the earth too crowded? i can do math just fine. the only reason we have resource problems is greed. anyone with half a brain cell can see that.
also, i really do not want you to control the population. maybe if you want the population controlled, it's better that you don't have children and that you be an example to all us ignorant fools who believe that the population isn't a problem. maybe we'll follow you?
maybe you should realize that the platform you support has always been against the basic rights of citizens. just look at the history of the laws they try to pass. they're really the same as the platform you oppose. they may have pretence of civil rights as they do advocate equality...sometimes. but equally depriving people of their rights is a bad thing. you should look elsewhere for leadership as you will find no support for rights and freedom from the current administration or the democratic party. just look at all of our rights they have trampled on in less than half the time that g.w. spent doing the same thing. the fight should be against those who would take away our rights and freedoms, not against a specific party. besides, can you really expect any politician to protect your rights and freedoms when their entire aim as a politician is to gain money and power? why do you think they are running for a position of political power? it's not to make things better for you. it's because they want control.
for a computer nerd, you are severely lacking in logic. try looking at things with a fresh perspective. throw away the dogma and read the actual laws they are shoving down our throats. the health care law and the ndaa are really just there to trample on our rights and destroy our economy. the same can be said about the patriot act which was reaffirmed by the current administration.
the republicans are not as bad. yes, they are bad, but they are less aggressive about killing our country. the real solution is to look for leaders outside the two major parties. we need someone who will stand up for our rights, not tear them down and then label people who stand up for basic rights and freedoms as dangerous extremists.
Well done! and good for them,, more please!,, and though it may have been 30, this time!.. next time? it will be 300, then 3000 then 30,000, then 300,000!,, and so on,,, SIC PARVIS MAGNA, in action[great things have small beginnings].. yessir!!..it works like this, bystanders have phones, they e mail pics etc, those get forwarded, and forwarded etc etc,,and next time!.. half the country is in the loop,... powerfull tool,, no??..BTW,, great comments,,your support for these women, regardless of where they live or who runs the country[or tries to??], is very important, and Kudo,s on MSN for running this so important story,,,you cant! have a "revolution" and cut out half the population,,,you will FAIL!,,, on the other hand,, if you do have a "revolution" and include!! those 50 %,??.. you will succeed big time!!...this is why the opression in the first place,, it is about CONTROL!,..weak minded persons who crave control, and attack and abuse women to gain and keep it are just that WEAK!,[not to say, disgusting as well!!]..vulnerable[they dont know this ha ha], and open to OOTB action that will blow them out of the water,,,so be it!!... that!! is JUSTICE,,,And yes this womens candidate is going to have it rough,, lets get on that and reduce!! the problems as much as possible,, this could very well be the real! end to the "problem" of afganistan,..Solutions are where you find them,, look, think, act,,,and talk about it LATER!!.. eh??
Although countries around the world are fighting against terrorism of many forms the real fight that is being waged is a war against Religious Socialism.
Religious Socialism is a religious ideal that says because you are a woman that you have to perform various tasks that would be associated with what a woman should do and what a woman should not do.
When women and men break out of the mold those who have willfully entightled theirself to this form of thought of taking from such people their freedom of choice to force the individual to do something that goes against the individuals will but benefits the person forcing them to do the thing against their will is considered Socialism for the main fact that one person is being to do something while another receives something for free which is the very essence of socialism receiving something for free without having returned a service for what was given.
We are also fighting the spread of socialism here in America where political agencies vested in forcing people to follow a certain religious doctrine or political idealogy are spying on Americans and then giving the information about what they do in their off times to employers so that the person or group can use their choice against them to force them to follow a doctrine of what the religious nutters want the person to believe that benefits only the person wanting control over the person for the purpose of making money form the person through extortion.....once again a person making their self entightled over another and wanting money from them so they can live happily while those afflicted live an unhappy life.
Socialism will continue to rise in America the more that the gas prices increase and its not President Obama that is increasing the gas prices it is the Socialist Speculators in Wall Street that are turning America into a Socialist Religious Country.
It's still a "man's world" in that part of the world! What a joke Karzi is!
How very brave these women are!!!
What are our soldiers doing there?
Invest the money in intelligence, and get our troops out of that sureal situation!
I truly feel sorry for these lovely women - especially the one whose medical studies were interrupted. However, they must realize that the only individual solution is to get out of Afghanistan. It will only get worse for them. Karzai is no better than a Taliban dupe. Similarly, the U.S. needs to be out of there now.
Airborn7,
Review your history lessons. The great Roman Empire never flinced when sacrificing their soldiers to ensure their slave colony is up and running full speed ahead. Why should we? And the Romans even paid thier soldiers A LOT more compared to today, where soldiers get dirt compared to private industries.
No matter how long it takes, with or without Karzai, your clothing, shoes, and toys will one day be made in Afghanistan. Did you forget the photo's of ppl in burca's learning to make blonde dolls? hmm?
After all, this is called "bringing civilization to the barbarians"! ;)
Seriously doubt that the Afghan people will ever completely become a minion of other nation's enterprises. Many have tried and many have died since Alexander The Great. We're finding that out the hard way.
The faster we can get women rights in Afghanistan, the faster we can have them work and make cheap stuff for America. China is getting expensive so we need cheap laborers...men or women alike.
They know they are putting their lives on the line to free the captives. Women are not property, women are human beings with equal dignity and human rights. We in the west also need to understand this. If we think we do, WE DON"T....the sexual exploitation of women is appalling in the west. Women are objectified here. Wake up.
Laureen,
The cold hard fact is that Women will never be completely equal to Men until someone has invented the artificial womb. And add robot nanies to that too...unless you will be able ot get some cheap axe nanies in quantity from the pool of future Afghan imigrants. When you take off months to have children...no matter which way you look at it, you will be at a disadvantage of a Man who can even trade in all his vacation days for pay. THAT is a fact. And THAT is also fair. There are lots of women who make much more money than men...and they mostly have late or small families. Take your pick.
In a place like Afghanistan, where like half the children die befroe adulthood, and women over 30 die en mass from birth giving, this is how it is. The woman's job is in the house and no where else because that's how they "protect" them. Sometimes, their laws have unfortunate consequences from shady ppl. But the media overblows it. As if "everyone" in the USA steals 50 million dollars from stock markets so it seems in the media.
here is some food for thought,, lets suppose we connected all the women, all at the same time,[thats what 3.5 billion! PERSONS],..and got them all acting[or even just thinking about] JUSTICE, all at the same time,,world wide,,what would happen??.. anyone??.. think about it first,,,"people" ahem are watching,,Can we do this??. I say yes,, it can be done,, and in fact IS BEING DONE!!, and that is food for some serious grey cell action,, "small beginings" can be powerfull when they grow,..especially when they have real justice in mind,..so be it!!, Ya know, if I was a political, anytime, anywhere, I would get on this wagon pronto and ride it to wherever! it takes me and quite likely get some fame and attention at the same time,,,funny so many miss the boat isnt it??.. says something about the problems, and where we are at, right now,,, tommorow though?? thats another story,,"If you try to change THE WORLD?, you will fail, it is too complex,, on the other hand, if you change your world!, then the rest of the world WILL CHANGE AROUND YOU!..good advice that,, not mine either,,I use it though, yessir!!, works,, and in the end, thats what matters,..
I feel very badly for all of the women that are suffering by the hands of men but they have so much worse than any women.
But without help from men in their area nothing will ever get changed because women are looked as they are in the way sadly that is a fact.
Seem's to me that this Bald Headed Idiot Karzai was a Taliban supporter from the very beginning. Get us the Hell out of that stone age country. Vote Obooma out of office.
I bet you Karzai is "sleeping with the enemy" so he can remain in power longer. He probably feels that if he makes peace with Taliban, he can invoke their laws. Time for us to clamp down on Karzai and remind him that human rights and democracy is non-negotiable in his country.
Just shows that this War on Women is global.
So why is Obama and MSNBC and the news going after working women? Ha! Ha! Ha! Women that raise children according to the Democrats and the Obama administration do not work. Could it be this president if we talked about his record would fail so miserably the millionaire that payed less on his taxes than a family of three with an income of $25,000 per year is the issue the news should avoid? Not really.
The news is following its boss and avoiding any real discussion of the Presidents failed policies that will continue to ruin the American way of life even when he is retired on his own medical plan and writing books and making meaningless speeches for multimillionaire like President Clinton has done. Did you know half the congress are millionaires and the top five millionaires are Democratic. Yep.
The news in America has failed its people and has taken the side of the Socialists. It it not time to talk about the presidents successes and failures instead of this Women Race Card and race card issues? Where is the American press in China?
Although I dislike Obama, his paid taxes of 22% of his income is a bit higher than the roughly 12% that a family of three making $25,000 would pay. Obama does pay a bit less than others in his income bracket would pay. So before spouting your mouth off about something, you might want to make sure your facts are correct.
JG, it's very sad for you that you have to use lies instead of facts. That only proves what losers the GOP/TPers are.
Yes, but Obama earned 750 thousand. (oooh! OOO! RICH...HE's RICH) and his secretary paid a higher rate, according to the Obama staff.
Greed?
CEOs like Romney make multi-millions. President Obama earned his money I am sure.
He found Bin Laden.
American owes him a big, huge bonus for that.
How come the Republicans could not find Bin Laden?
They had years to find him and could not do it or didn't want to?
Justice would have been to get the ones that we responsible for 911, not over 300,000 unrelated Iraqi's.
Feel free to correct my numbers, I am sure they are higher now.
Did you see any pictures of Osama?? he did not get Osama he had been dead for years
Good for these brave women, and I was encouraged to see at least one man marching with them. But the Taliban have such a near-pathological hatred of women (acid in schoolgirls' faces, etc.) that I'm afraid everyone involved in the protest will pay dearly for their courage.
Except the Taliban doesn't run the country, or these women would have never been able to protest, or at least remained alive to protest.
Except the Taliban doesn't run the country
Yet.
I like the image of all the heavily armed Police w/ their weaponry. Then I look at the protesters. Looks like they pose a real threat; yeah, like the child in the wheelchair recently, who was gone over with a fine toothcomb by our heroic TSA agents at an airport. In reality, these women and those who support their movement will be dealt with, assuredly. Mr. Karzai will see to that. And too, where is Ms. Rosen now, where is Gloria Allred, The head of NOW, where is the "champion of women's rights", Ms. Clinton, and why not add the First Lady, Ms. Obama? Are they going to speak out in support of these women? Doubt it. It's not PC to do so. Not with a Presidential election looming!
