A YouTube video reportedly showing protesters stopping Iran's presidential motorcade in Bandar Abbas.
Iran’s hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was ambushed during a public motorcade tour by a woman and an elderly man angry at growing poverty – an incident that was caught on camera.
The leader was touring the streets in the southern city of Bandar Abbas when his car was mobbed by Iranians complaining about a lack of food and wages, according to a report in The Times of London newspaper, which operates an online paywall.
Footage of the ambush, which the paper said took place last week, was uploaded to YouTube Wednesday.
The video shows Ahmadinejad standing up through the sunroof of his motorcade waving to crowds when the elderly man approaches.
US companies lose as sanctions strangle Iran
The Times reported the man as saying “Ahmadinejad, I am hungry. They haven’t paid my money.”
A young woman is then seen climbing onto the car, waving her hands and shouting into his face.
The incident is rare in a country where dissent from the hardline leadership of Ahmadinejad and Islamic fundamentalists is not tolerated.
Sanctions imposed on Iran by the United States and other Western countries have led to high inflation and household poverty.

This clearly shows there's more freedom in Iran than the media here in the U.S. tries to portray. Try coming within ten feet of the U.S president and see if you can get anywhere close to him to scream in his face. His Secret Service will have you on the ground before you can say "cheese", that is of course if they aren't busy horsing around with some prostitute out there. America, America, land of the free, gullible and hypocrites.
No, it just means they will kill him and not have to worry about that again. There is a huge difference between our secret service and whatever is around ahmadonemessedupiran....
Iranian President didn't kill Osama, HE would KISS HIM instead. The US Secrete Service is doing very well their job, well (when they are not "horsing around" of course).
U.S. secret service didn't kill Osama, wtf?
Guys I still believe that the secret service charge was trumped up by the white house in order to discredit them. I can not believe they would d such a thing I mean 11? And as for the Iranian protestor, he will get his wish to meet Allah soon.
one1000percentAmerican,
"Try coming within ten feet of the U.S president and see if you can get anywhere close to him to scream in his face. His Secret Service will have you on the ground before you can say "cheese"
Then how did Arizona governor Janet Brewer get away with shaking her finger in President Obama's face?
It's ironic that the people that the sanctions are hurting are those that probably don't care about the nuclear program one way or another, rather than those responsible for it.
SI
IMO> Iran has caught wind of a attack coming from Israel and is wanting to play the international community to buy time and stop them .. This was a staged event to give impression that sanctions are working and will work with time. If those people came that close they were allowed too.
Nice one....beat me to it...lol.;)
Yet another example of great 'leadership'. NOT. There are Americans going hungry in the US as well and can not find decent living wages and conditions. I see that economic slavery is working all around the globe. Capitalism born competition driven by fear and greed is a well established arena allowing the current human condition we ourselves have created and accepted. I have mine and you can go to h@ll.
I wonder how tough Ted Nugent will flap his pie hole today?
The story is not what they have done .... It's where they end up ! Keep me posted MSNBC..
It's sad that the ones suffering from the sanctions are the ones who really couldn't care less about politics.
Getting close to Ahmadinejad isn't a problem but try getting that close to the Supreme Leader and see what happens.
1.5 million Iranians are not Muslim.
Amazing someone getting that close and he's still living..wonder why all the fruit cakes are still alive.
A simple well selling middle eastern 'BLOW-UP belt' would be nice then.
Your an idiot! What the camera does not show is the Iranian secret police dragging both away to disappear forever!
These two people will simply disappear in the very near future. They may have gotten close to Ahmadinejad this one time, but it will be ensured that they do not get that close again. They will wind up in some dark hole of a prison somewhere or just wind up buried in the desert in an unmarked grave.
That old man was fed, right before he was shot.
one1000percentAmerican , sounds like you want to move to IRAN! Better think about it a little bit more though, if you have such a problem. Getting back here is a lot harder.
Hope these people don't end up dead. But really the same thing happens here in the US.
Pay close attention if anyone talks bad about Obama, they either get a meeting, Nugent is a good example, or the person quickly says that he didn't mean to criticize Obama, as if they are in fear. You never see any celebrity talk bad about Obama, you never see Saturday Night Live give it to Obama hard. You just don't.
Remember when Abu Ghraib incident happened in Iraq? The media and everyone else gave such a hard time to the Bush Admin. including Rumsfeld. It was in the headlines for months. Look at what is happening today over there. It's much worse. Every month we are hearing something our soldiers did. Another incident was reported yesterday. Yet, I've noticed it makes the headlines and then disappears. I don't see the outrage from the media and the things happening over there are much worse than Abu Graib.
Ask yourself why. IMO because this makes Obama look bad and media is afraid of him.
If the media had the balls to criticize Bush why don't they have the balls to criticize Obama? I know most media members are liberals but still. I would think honesty to the American people comes first.
Mickey... the governor of Arizona was not just some random protester - she had unprecedented access and clout.
one1000percentAmerican:
Are you kidding?!? These people were dead by the end of the day! Of course nobody can get close to the President. Your comment is completely lame and ignorant as you really can't be serious to think anybody should be able to walk up to the President unchecked.
one1000percentAmerican:
Everyone else pretty much said it. You are ignorant you think there will not be recourse for these people we dont even know what he told the girl on the car to make her leave he probably threatened her life and her family. Iranians dont have freedoms at all. And it has gotten worse since Amehdencrazy took power. Just think about it you are saying they have more freedom but there government is getting rid of there internet and creating there own intranet so the public can not be influenced by other parts of the world and that is just the tip of the iceberg.
Well, the US secret service would have someone on the ground. Hopefully, it's not a Colombian woman.
Just like North Korea, Iran has infinite money for weapons and nukes, no money for bread.
Allah provide! (That's Persion for 'let them eat cake')
I just finished reading A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. Do the wealthy ever read this classic and if so why don't they learn from it?
Freedom isn't free. If you want it then you have to sacrifice.
I know! I mean, they caught Jared Loughner! I'm pretty sure that's the only guy we have in America who'd try shooting the President if given the chance!
/sarc
Try converting from Islam (or, for that matter, being gay) in Iran, and then say with a straight face that Iran has more freedoms than America. The fact that people like Michael Moore, Glenn Beck, Alex Jones, Ron Paul, and Noam Chomsky are still alive, living comfortably, and speaking their piece in America while Youcef Nadarkhani languishes in jail in Iran totally disproves your point.
It's this simplistic, reflexive, unthinking, Manichean anti-Americanism of some people that gets me, particularly when the claims they make are clearly, demonstrably, metaphysically incorrect. AND HE GETS UPDINGED!
Yeah, but 98% of Iran's total population are muslim, over 76 million. So playing your little numbers game, there is only a 2% chance that the original statement was wrong.
You are a fool if you think they have more freedom than we do. What do you think happened to those people after the camera was off and the motorcade left? they are probably in prison being tortured for speaking their mind.
A large percentage of the Iranian people are Western thinking, pissed off at the clerics and wanting a change to a more Democratic society. However, the clerics are strong.
Hopefully, this action will spur others to protest the clerics and perhaps Iran will have its own Arab (Persian) Sprig.
Iran has no poverty, just like they have no gay people! No doubt some of these unfortunate folks are already being held and tortured in Iranian secret police custody while being told, "Repeat after me. There is no poverty in Iran! I was not tortured!"
Mickey-1983943
He was in her state. And in reality she has authority over him in AZ. He doesnt respect state sovereignty and this is the problem with the FEDS. They have no jurisdiction in any state. He cannot tell AZ what laws they can implement. He is lucky he wasnt arrested by the state of AZ for breaking his oath to the Constitution. She could have had him tried for treason.
Good point, countingbodies. Too bad she didn't.
I feel very sad for these two brave/desperate souls who stood up to Ahmadinejad. Doubt very much they'll be alive for long. Most likely they--and their family members--are in prison being interrogated under torture, after which never to be seen again. I hope I'm wrong.
Little did these people know these would be the last words they would say before meeting allah face to face...:p
They didn't finish the headline. It should have read:
"Iranian protester shouts into President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's face until Ahmedinejad stomped on his face and pissed in his eye". :)

Derek,
re: post 3.1
Agreed.
This video was shown already yesterday at least 18 hrs ago in Europe- Ahmedinejad got petitions on paper and clear pleadings in person- people are hungry (their foodstuff is affected by the sanctions on their exchange capability) .People do act when they are hungry and their g'ment does not answer their basic needs.(This is not the same as starvation-when people become too feeble to do anything).Iranians deserve so much better- never to be afraid of their g'ment.
As is destined by fate to be,an Iranian democracy there must be.More slap in the face of iranian president Ahminstinedad is in order,a forehand AND back hand,so get out the neck braces to put the iranian president in.
I didnt here where the old guy through his sandals at him!
Try it like this, bubba: " I didn't hear where the old guy threw his sandals at him". Ummm, huh?
Instead of yelling at him, they should have shot him in the head!
Uh, what gun would they use???
Agree, gun control works.
The wrong way though.
The old man is probably in a landfill already.
Ahmadinejad is a clown.
Dudogger: Someone there has a gun, I can assure you of that!!!If not, there are always other weapons.
Stonepipe you need to lay off the bong first thing in the morning. Iranians do not have guns at home unless they are part of the peoples militia. Regular citizens are forbidden to have private weapons other than pots, pans, brooms and mop handles (restricted to nothing less that 18.5 inches). If they had weapons they would have used them by now. Gun control run by Hitler, Stalin, Ahmadinejad and other future Emperor's of the world have to work or their people will overthrow them. After the re-election we will find out about that here in America. That girl is now a recreational ride for a battalion of Red Guards and the Old Man is now a demonstration model at the Iranina torture school.
Didn't know about that. Thanks for enlightening me.
Frogman, you need to set your secret agent decoder ring to sarcasm.
Just so all the simpletons know, my name refers to something old as man on this continent used to honor our Mother Earth not smoking bongs, one hitters or joints.
Good for them. Get in his face as much as possible. Might not help but other will see this.
The good news most likely is that neither one of them is hungry anymore. Of course this is because neither one is alive. But to be so hungry you are willing to risk your life to eat conditions must be very bad.
It couldn't happen to a nicer dictator.
LOL! Yes, that poor, poor man! What did he do to deserve this kind of rude treatment?
Where is Iran's version of Siberia ??
Everywhere outside of Tehran.
Has anyone verified this video? I've watched it a few times and the quality does not allow me to be certain it is him. I also question how there happened to be a person with the ability to film this and also have the ability to get in on youtube. I also wonder how Ahmadinejad's security would allow two people to get up to the car, much less allow someone climb up on the car and yell in his face. There are enough questions that make me wonder if this is real or not. If it's not real, what's the reason for the sham?
jrl
re: post #17
You don't understand- a mob is a MOB! So many angry people around that shooting just one will guarantee the death of all of the security people by being torn limb from limb by the crowd- literally! Its a matter of being overwhelmed by the sheer number of people such as in a human wave attack like the Japs were so famous for in WW II and also the Chinese in Korea in the 1950s.
So Merlin, what you are saying is that the Iranian security forces protecting the President of Iran go out on the street with out enough people to protect their man. Ya, that sounds logical.
I'm sure that punk will answer in his usual way. To denounce and imprison them both. Heck if you tried that with our Socialist leader you would def serve some time. In fact they would twist it into either a hate crime or Domestic terrorism and ruin you forever. It's getting to be that these Countries we once looked at with disdain because of the lack of freedom for their people now have more freedom than we do. Here's hoping for some real change in 2012. Vote for anyone other than the Socialist pig we have now
wayback,
Yeah man, lets vote in a republican nazi pig instead, right? I say dump both parties and give someone else a chance. The problem makers are NEVER going to be the problem solvers.
BTW- those other countries are "freer" than we are because their governments collapsed. Don't make the mistake of thinking that Russia no longer has a KGB just because they gave it a different name.
Oh yeah... "that punk" as you call him, now sits in the Oval Office and is YOUR president too. If we compare him with you who is the more powerful and who is the punk? I didn't vote for him either but you all take it too far.
My mistake, wayback. You didn't call the Pres "that punk". I got confused for a moment there. I plead humanity.
Umm, guys, in case you haven't been following this, Ahmadinejad isn't all that popular with the Supreme Leader right now-- he's seen as too independent of the clerics. Groups claiming the support of Khamenei just beat Ahmadinejad's faction in the parliamentary elections in March (see Haaretz, I can't seem to put in a link). Tthe clerics are all too happy to throw Ahmadinejad under the bus...
They just did.
GOOD!!! Keep it up.
I'm sure they'll have a private stoning for her later.
Recently the Iranians actually got serious about nukes talks, pleasantly surprised the U.S. representatives. This kind of sentiment among the people is probably why. Think the sanctions are starting to work? I know, WWIII would be more fun for many, but I'll take this path.
"I'm sorry your life sucks, because I make poor choices; but, here is a sandwich!"
Yours truly,
Ahmadinejad
Looks like he has things well under control, for a 4'3" loudspeaker.
I will give it to him .......He has a set of brass ones . Riding around in the street like that ? It's amazing he is still around to talk about it .
He is still around because his citizens are not allowed to own, or purchase, any type of weapons. Why do you think that is???????
This guy is as good as dead.
