Osama bin Laden wanted to assassinate Barack Obama so that the "utterly unprepared" Joe Biden would become U.S. president, according to documents seized last year during the U.S. raid that killed the al-Qaida leader.
In letters from his last hideout -- according to a report called "Letters from Abbottabad: Bin Ladin Sidelined?" that was posted online Thursday by the U.S. Army's Combating Terrorism Center -- bin Laden also fretted about dysfunction in his terrorist network and the loss of trust from Muslims he wished to incite against their government and the West.

Other materials found inside the compound last May have revealed how al-Qaida's then leader regularly ordered his subordinates to plan new attacks, despite an increasingly limited cadre of operatives.

During the raid, Navy SEALs recovered five computers, 10 hard drives and more than 100 storage devices -- DVDs, discs and thumb drives -- that included between 10,000 and 15,000 documents and between 15,000 to 25,000 videos, including a large number of duplicate files.

The documents also contained some slightly odd revelations, including the idea that al-Qaida thought Irish Catholics might be ripe for conversion to Islam.
“I noticed the sympathy of the Irish people to the Palestinian issue, and the soft treatment by the Irish Judicial system of Muslims accused of terrorism, and also not participating with its troops in [President George W.] Bush’s Crusade wars,” American al-Qaida spokesman Adam Gadahn wrote in a letter.
“The other matter is the increasing anger in Ireland towards the Catholic Church after exposing a number of sex scandals … The people there are moving towards secularism, after it was the most religious of atheist Europe, and why do not we face them with Islam?” he added.
Al-Qaida also fretted over its brand name. One document discussed how the group’s name was shortened from Qaida al-Jihad to al-Qaida and “this name reduces the feeling of Muslims that we belong to them.” It suggested names that could not be easily shortened “to a word that does not represent us.”
Those included “Muslim Unity Group,” “Restoration of the Caliphate Group,” and “Jihad Organization for the Unification and Rescue of the Nation.”
Al-Qaida also appears to have had a particular dislike for Fox News.
Talking about sending an al-Qaida message to the media, the spokesman Gadahn wrote, “I suggest that we should distribute it to more than one channel, so that there will be healthy competition between the channels in broadcasting the material, so that no other channel takes the lead. It should be sent for example to ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN and maybe PBS and VOA.”
However Fox News, Gadahn said, should be left out the loop.
“As for Fox News, let her die in her anger,” he wrote.

When Texans attack Obama is shows that he is doing absolutely what is needed most. Most of the Texas' posts reveal that they are desperately trying to get a George Bush clone back in the White House.

As I read these posts it occurs to me that Bin Laden didn't have to do a thing to bring down our country. We are doing it to ourselves. Read these posts! Lefties, righties, neo-cons, nazis, fascists, socialists, communists, moslims, aliens! Labels everywhere. We are so convinced of our own rightness on every issue that we fail to consider that someone else may have a credible and valid point of view. President Obama is so hated by some that he could have been asassinated by Al Queda and I think some posters would have rejoiced. It is more than depressing and sad. It is heartbreaking. Some claim we are a Christian nation but their posts show the opposite. We hate what we don't understand or what we fear. We can protest without hate. We can dissent without splitting our country apart. We can only converse if we are willing to listen. But I fear if we continue down this hateful, spiteful path, our days as a strong nation are numbered. And people, we did it to ourselves.

BinLaden didn't do anything. All he was was a face. He made no plans. He gave no orders. They could really have taken a random person from the area, put him in front of a camera with a fake gun, let him say whatever in his own language and have a script to say "what he really said." Bin Laden knew when McCain or Romney didn't win his days were numbered. Only a few inside the Republican Party knew hands off Bin Laden. 2004 President Bush ended the unit that searched for Bin Laden and even said he didn't think of him anymore. Carlyle Group assured the Bin Laden Family Osama would not be looked for. The Mission was as Dick Cheney said Oil fields and money. 2003 we invaded Iraq and never gave a thought to Bin Laden the new issue was Saddam. During the 2008 Debates Romney and McCain said they agreed with Bush and wouldn't was time looking for Bin Laden. Bin Laden had been watching US News and his friends in Pakistan feeding him inside information from the US as many on the Law Makers Foreign Policy committee were keeping Pakistan informed. President Obama had to do this without even the US enemy knowing it because you can best believe if he had gone to any of the GOP, Bin Laden would have left quick. 2009 Bin Laden knew this President would search for him as he soldiers requested.
After all the parties are long dead Americans will learn who were the real planners of 9/11 and how the powerful leaders of the United States protected Osama Bin Laden. At lease Bin Laden got to see how easy it was for Bush/Cheney to fool American people but they couldn't fool the world. Bush had Colin Powell lied to the United Nations and no one believed the lie except American citizens, as Bush said he would go it alone. Powell did apologize for lying to the World and American citizens. All that must have given Osama a good laugh. But Americans never thought about the 9/11 victims or the soldiers, it took President Obama to step up to the plate.

President George Bush rejected as "non-negotiable" an offer by the Taliban to discuss turning over Osama bin Laden if the United States ended the bombing in Afghanistan.
Returning to the White House after a weekend at Camp David, the president said the bombing would not stop, unless the ruling Taliban "turn [bin Laden] over, turn his cohorts over, turn any hostages they hold over." He added, "There's no need to discuss innocence or guilt. We know he's guilty".
In Jalalabad, deputy prime minister Haji Abdul Kabir - the third most powerful figure in the ruling Taliban regime - told reporters that the Taliban would require evidence that Bin Laden was behind the September 11 terrorist attacks in the US, but added: "we would be ready to hand him over to a third country".

In passages of Osama bin Laden's so-called "Letter to America" that were not initially translated into English when first made public two weeks ago, the al Qaeda terror chief says he was deeply offended by ex-President Bill Clinton's "immoral" Oval Office sexcapades.
"Who can forget your President Clinton's immoral acts committed in the official Oval Office?," bin Laden complains in the 4,000 word message, first reported by Al-Jazeera TV's Yousri Fouda, in which the 9/11 mastermind also warns of further attacks against U.S. targets.
A full translation of the six page letter attributed to bin Laden, which appeared in London's Observer newspaper this week, reveals that he was also irked that Clinton was not indicted by prosecutors for lying about his illicit affair with White House fellatrix Monica Lewinsky.
"After that you did not even bring (Clinton) to account, other than that he 'made a mistake', after which everything passed with no punishment," bin Laden allegedly wrote. He then added, "Is there a worse kind of event for which your name will go down in history and (be) remembered by nations?"
In his "Letter to America," bin Laden also complains about other aspects of what he describes as America's tendency towards "debauchery."
"You are a nation that permits the production, trading and usage of intoxicants," he rails. "You also permit drugs, and only forbid the trade of them, even though your nation is the largest consumer of them."
"You are a nation that permits acts of immorality, and you consider them to be pillars of personal freedom. You have continued to sink down this abyss from level to level until incest has spread amongst you, in the face of which neither your sense of honor nor your laws object."
Bin Laden concludes that the U.S. is "the worst civilization witnessed by the history of mankind."
