Prostitute at center of Secret Service scandal: Agents were 'stupid brutes'

The prostitute at the center of the Secret Service sex scandal speaks in her first American television interview, calling the agents "stupid brutes" and saying she's "not to blame for being attractive." NBC's Michelle Kosinski reports.

Updated at 8:16 a.m. ET: MADRID, Spain -- A woman identifying herself as the Colombian prostitute at the center of a scandal involving U.S. Secret Service personnel has called the group of agents "stupid brutes" who put partying above President Barack Obama's security.

"These seem like completely stupid, idiotic people," Dania Londono Suarez said in an interview which aired on Monday's TODAY. "I don't know how Obama had them in his security force."

She also accused the agents of "leaving their duty behind" and described them as "stupid brutes."

The scandal broke in April when, in advance of Obama's arrival at the Summit of the Americas in Cartagena, Colombia, agents allegedly brought prostitutes to their hotel rooms.  One of the men, Suarez told NBC News, refused to pay her for sex so she went to the police.

So far, eight agents have lost their jobs as a result of the incident.

Suarez, 24, said three men who approached and propositioned her and her friends were drinking vodka like it was water.

"They liked to show off their bodies, great bodies, well-defined abs," Saurez said of the men she first met at a nightclub. "They liked attention."

NBC's Kristen Welker talks about the interview given by the woman in the middle of scandal, in which she alleges she did not know the men were Secret Service agents.

The mother of a nine-year-old son said she made it perfectly clear to one that a night with her would cost $800.

"And he accepted. And it was clear," she said.

But in the morning after they had had sex, the man gave her only $50 and ordered her out of the room, Suarez said.

"I am not to blame for being attractive," she told TODAY. "They are to blame -- for leaving their duty behind."

$800 versus $50... close enough. These fools have been around politicians too long. It shows both in their actions and in keeping their promises.

An all night drunk is like the campaign before being elected... you wake up and only want to pay $50.

A Colombian whore refers to our Secret Service agents as "Brutes"? Who does she think she's kidding. Her pimp probably beats the crap out of her at least twice a day whenever she not bent over getting the clap or AIDS. These guys are major Type A personalities who are away from their families for months at a time. They're going to get whores. This is such a non-story that the GOP is desperate to keep in the headlines, because it's the closest they can come to defaming our president since he's done a remarkable job saving us from the destruction of our nation that Bush put us into.

Let's have a show of hands from all the Secret Service agents and politicians who have used prostitutes. Wait, too many to count. Let's narrow it down to Republican politicians who have had sex in men's room stalls. Wow, still can't count that high.

Not necessarily--you don't know if she even has a pimp. $800 definitely sounds fishy for this one, simply because this took place in Columbia. If it were in the States, it would have been plausible.

Agents should never keep their stuff lying around, and they really shouldn't try to cheat people out of their money. Then again, stealing money is something that the government's really good at.

Ed McT-2404427,

The Prostitutes in Columbia don't need "pimps" ,,,,they work independently as Prostitutuion is legal.

I would say that she is correct is making her statement as those involved are "stupid brutes" !!!

What they do when they are not assignment in an "anonymous" setting is their own business.

The fool that thought he was not going to pay the woman was a real "bozo" in my opinon,,,,

The actions of those involved , ruin the credibility of the "secret service" ,,the institutions very name ! They should be let go ( what a bunch of "nimrods" !)

Regardless of her being a whore, she is right about them being dumb. I have never been with a prosti, but I would not risk my job for sex under any circumstances, and I suspect most of you would not wither. They are dumb and should have paid. Also, I am not sure because I have not followed this closely, but I believe she was talking about $800.00 Colombian currency, not US. Can anyone confirm that. It is a large difference, moneywise

To MSBNC,

Please stop. Just stop. This is the kind of news that one reads in The Enquirer or equally redundant tabloid in the supermarket checkout line.

The agents were idiots who needed to be fired, as well as their immediate superiors. It was conduct beyond the pale for people in their positions.

At this point, you're just bleeding the story for gossipy details that are neither here nor there, and no one cares, including the Johns, what a hooker thinks.

This isn't about her, her chosen profession, or how much the agents did or didn't agree to pay. This is about the agents and the agency, and his behavior was inappropriate regardless of what anyone feels about the woman.

Let's stop making excuses and soldier up. The responsbility and scorn should be on the agents who pissed all over the honor they were given when being awarded a job at one of the most elite agencies in the world.

Shame on them, not her.

OMG, you've got THAT right schoolyard. She looks like a cheap, sleezy street walker, so her profession fits her. I know nothing about the kind of money they can command, but if she thinks anyone in their right mind would pay her $800 for a STD-producing romp, she's delusional. I think $50 was way too much if you ask me. Gross. You would have HAD to have been drinking vodka like water to go up and proposition that.

What I find rich is here is a skanky prostitute, who has to sell her body to make a living, calling someone else stupid. What kind of mother can you be, or what kind of example can you be to a nine year old boy? Maybe he can follow in his mother's footsteps and become a pimp.

I agree the agents were indeed stupid for destroying their careers over a drunken, STD-inducing romp with a street walker, but don't you find it interesting that this 24 year old woman, who has a nine year old son (so she was 15 when she had him), calls a bunch of men "stupid brutes" when she has to sell her body to make a living? You can't be too bright yourself when you choose this kind of profession when a) you have a child and b) your chosen profession could leave you beaten to death in a back alley. LmarcT - You are taking the word of a Columbian hooker?

What also seems to be ridiculous is that the media keeps putting this trash out there. Which widens the berth for the scumbags of the rest of the world to do the same. These hookers may or may not have been duped. They say the could have gotten the missile launch codes if they wanted. It is all conjecture, because we don't know what actually happened.

I'm sure the secret service members, and the others who were with them, could have spent their down time doing something else, but they were on TDY in a country that caters to such people looking for exactly what these guys found.

Good Prostitutes keep their mouth shut. Part of that pay is for that discretion. Of course she wasn't paid, so can't totally blame her. But it will probably reflect poorly on her and other sex workers in the future.

Only in America do we give a prostitute (from another country no less) the platform to continue telling "her side" of the story. Come on MSNBC, time to change the record. Numerous agents have had their careers ruined and embarrassed. Justice seems to have been served swiftly.

Quit throwing money at these whores in an effort to solicit the dirty details. I mean, 10+ years ago this would only make People Mag or something along those lines. Today, it's headline news.

Truthwillsetufree,

Thank you!

I look at it like this... She would never have been able to speak to the press, or make up stories, or claims, or anything, had the agents been professional in their behavior. The instigating factor in all of this, was the piss poor judgment by those agents.

She's a Colombian prostitute, they're members of an elite agency, trusted with protecting the leader of the free world, and paid by us. I'm not pissed about anything SHE does, because she can only do those things, due to the agents. And, oh yeah, she's a Colombian prostitute, duh, of course this was going to happen.

When you, not only get drunk and buy hookers, but refuse to pay them, while in a professional capacity, it has consequences. And, shocker, the pissed off prostitute getting her 15 minutes at your expense heads up the list of those consequences.

I'll never understand the US attitude towards sex. It's ok to shoot people and show dead bodies to kids on the news, but show a boob or talk about actually having sex and it's time to lock them away for life.

She's a prostitute and she makes money by having sex. So what? Why does this automatically make her less of a person than anyone else?

I think Americans need to rethink their morals a bit...

That has got to be a blow to the Colombian prostitute biz. Even if she were pretty, I wouldn't touch her with a pitchfork out of fear getting blackmailed, after paying a pretty penny. One reason a prostitute gets paid is to keep her mouth shut.

I certainly don't condone her profession, but where she lives, it's legal. Just like in Vegas. She doesn't need to hide in back alleys, or cruise the streets looking for anyone that will give her the money.

As for selling her body for money, we all sell ourselves for money, in one way or another. We sell our minds and talents to our employers for our weekly paychecks.

Myself, I'm more apt to believe her story than the agents who knowingly disgraced themselves and their organization by their behavior.

Any man who feels compelled to patronize a prostitute is an idiot; although at least where prostitution is legal, the "professionals" can be kept under medical control. I agree with the woman in question that these guys were a bunch of morons. What were they thinking? And then trying to stiff the woman out of her fee is even dumber (I'm sure the 800 is Colombian money, not U.S.). Fire that whole bunch of guys and as far as the woman is concerned, she's obviously loving the limelight, but I think we've seen enough of her.

How can you tell a Columbiana working girl is lying? Her lips are moving. These girls will SAY ANYTHING and EVERYTHING!She knows $800is also a lie! Toda la nocha (all night) goes for $300 max. usually in the 150-225 range. An hour starts at cien (100) and goes down from there during negotiations.

Also, these girls are extremely aggressive. More than likely SHE approached him and SHE propositioned him. I find it very unbelievable the agents propositioned her (read, no way in hell!).

Columbiana working girls are "vipers" the Ticas, Nicas and Panamanas are much nicer and are sweethearts.

Nor does it take one to know that you can get even more money taking down secret service agents that aren't in the president's pocket by selling your story to liberal media. Hmmm, mighty suspicious that black conservatives, and other traitors to PC ideology always seem to end up accused of sexual misconduct. You guys think Obama has never slept around before Michelle? And we know Clinton has during Hillary, but come election time of a democrat, that fact gets swept out of the way.

As for her not being attractive... Ummm, have you guys SEEN the average prostitute? They're usually not half this attractive because they're coked out and old. But the point is, doing this scandal makes her an ugly person.

Prostitutes are all over in Government.

Monica Lewinsky was a "Hooker". She got paid for shuffling papers in the WH.

How many more of them are there; "Service to our Politicians, by Escort Services, Prostitutes".

The Secret Service Agents thought they deserved the same Rights. Dying for a President, while in a crisis makes them feel entitled to Partying in the bedroom. They could die, too.

It isn't her fault for being pretty?

One hopes her 9 year old one day asks her why if she was so pretty she has to sell herself?

Only in today's world would a semen catcher such as herself not only give an interview, but have the gall to come across as arrogant?

Thank you David, well said. It is ridiculous what our no good media is trying to milk from this garbage. Now they make a whore the judge of how well Dumbama was protected. Not that I care, but what a joke.

Is she a whore absolutely but SHE WAS NOT WORKING TO PROTECT THE PRESIDENT AND ON THE CLOCK! Don't get life confused you WOULDN'T BELIEVE how many men WOULD pay $800 OR MORE to have sex!!! A man will do JUST ABOUT ANYTHING FOR VAGINA clean or not. Not only is it sad on the men's behalf, but now this prostitute is about to make the most $$$$$$ she has ever made in her LIFETIME due to these fools stupid/ irresponsible/careless behavior. Men are pathetic and sad. Unreal that women have this much power over them........ and it will NEVER change......

But the 'stupid brutes' were just that, as an american merchant mariner, the 1st thing you look for overseas is a piece of ass to go along with the boozin, but these pigs went too far; a niteclub prostitute is a sailors party, elite ss goons should have used escort service to the hotel, what were these american trash thinking?

If the agent(s) had the intention of paying the girl $50.00 all along, of course he would agree to the $800.00. He knew he was not going to pay her so, like an idiot he agreed and got himself and a lot of others in deep trouble. He saved $750.00 and lost his job over it. What a fool! He deserves everything he gets. He is a fool, and actually a thief. This guy has no business being in the Secret Service. However, his job performance appears to be right in line with the people in the administration he is employed to protect. Obama breaks the law nearly everyday....everyday if you consider his eligibility. He ignores the Constitution that clearly defines his responsibility as the Chief law enforcement offical in the country.

Isn't this just a stupidity coverup / fake out for what the actual motive is going to be? First an obvious bust that anybody with half a brain would know they were going to get busted. Next a new set of Secret Service agents and or teams will be instated. Finally the "new agents" are actually an assassination team designed by the neocons in the Defense Department the same way they did away with JFK! Think about it.

I can’t believe that anyone this stupid could manage to land a job with the Secret Service. Any idiot knows you can’t renegotiate the price of any kinds of goods or services after you have received them. That being said though, just how drunk would you have to be to think that this girl would be worth $800 in the first place? That’s the equivalent of paying about $5000 dollars for a hooker here in the States. Even if she looked like Rihanna she wouldn’t be worth that much in Columbia. After all, this girl’s got a face that could stop a clock and only a mediocre body at best.

Of course I’m assuming that this girl is telling the truth about everything. I know from experience though that things aren’t always what they seem. In fact I once had some Filipina prostitutes try to shake me down and I didn’t even have sex with them. It happened one night when I was walking back to my hotel from a nightclub in Manila and these three rather plain looking girls approached me. They didn’t really look like prostitutes but I knew what they wanted before they even said it. Anyway I told them dozens of times that I had no interest in having sex with them but they continued to follow me all the way back to my hotel. Unfortunately I couldn’t get them to just go away and I was tired of arguing so I finally agreed to let them come up to my room to use my shower and to talk. But I also made it absolutely clear that I would NOT under any circumstances be having sex with any of them, nor would I pay them anything. Anyway after about an hour I told them that I needed to sleep and that they would have to go at which point one girl ask me for cab fare home. Then after I reluctantly agreed, just to be nice, she asked for money for her friends as well. When I refused she got very irate and even threatened to call the police if I didn’t give her what she was asking for. It would have been very easy of course just to give her the measly forty or fifty dollars that she wanted to make the problem go away but I just refuse to submit to extortion no matter what the cost. It’s the principle of the thing. Anyway it turned into a big scene with the hotel staff having to intervene but eventually after 20 minutes of screaming and yelling back and forth I finally got them to leave without paying them a dime. Still I was worried all night that the police might show up at my door, and even though I had not touched any of the girls, nor allowed them to touch me, it was three people’s word against mine and for all I knew the police might actually believe them. As scared as I was though I just refuse to be strong-armed. In fact I would gladly go to jail before I would let somebody shake me down.

As for the Colombian girl, I think she probably asked this guy for 6 to 8 times her normal rate, thinking he was rich, and he was too drunk to realize just how much this really was in dollars until the next morning. Then he was too stupid to realize what kind of @!$%#-train he would bring down on himself by refusing to pay what was agreed upon. He probably could have make the whole thing go away for about $200 but he had to insult her by offering much less than even her normal minimum rate. The guy was just plain stupid anyway you look at, and people that stupid and lacking in common sense shouldn’t be charged with protecting the President of the United States.

Go move in with Octomom, you deserve each other.

Ken F., and the rest of the guys in here who see her for who she is, I say, "thank God some men still have decent taste in women and aren't impressed by a woman who has to sell it to get it".

Kevin C-752389 is absolutely correct. I've been to Central/South America 14 times over the last 9 years. There is no way she was charging $800 per night, and there is no way they (the agents) would've accepted that price. The hookers look like fashion models, and they are everywhere! The competition is fierce! I'm not justifying their actions, I'm just saying that any man that has gone out for a night in Central/South America knows that she is lying about that price. By the way, some of you make comments about her "pimp", but there is no pimp. Prostitution is legal and sanctioned by their government. They work out of strip clubs, just like ours, the only difference being that you can sleep with the women. The government is hard core about testing them for STD's, because they don't want their source of $ dying on them/not coming back. Because of this, you don't see prostitutes on the streets. That would be stealing from the government, and you know that ain't gonna' happen! It's not like what most non-traveling Americans assume.

I don't even know how this Secret service worker put his eyes on this piece of crap woman. I hope the media stop advertising her, she doesn't deserve it. The entire secret service staff does not change when a new president is elected. Some of these agents may have served both Bush's and are now serving Obama. Political party has nothing to do with this.

It is the press that solicits prostitution like they are with this article.

And you all that charge that American men fall - are those here occupying the underbelly of the article.

Yeah. That's a fact...kinda like Romney, Cantor, Gingrich, Boehner, McConnell, DeMint....only they charge WAAAYYYYYY more than 800$. Of course, the Columbian woman's filth washes off. Romney's and Gingrich's doesn't.

The Secret Service agents are employees that last from one administration to another. They are not hired by Republican president Bush exclusively, nor are they hired by Democratic president Obama. Sorry, folks. Can't blame this on the "liberalls." Enough blame to go around on this one for somehow tolerating a culture of sleaze and bullying behavior.

Why do you think someone that gets paid to have sex is less of a person? In a way, I think it's much more honest than the games many people play when dating.

I'm curious, have any of you actually talked to someone that gets paid to have sex? I'm guessing if you did, you might be surprised. Yes, there are the drugged out waste cases, but there are also plenty that are intelligent, productive individuals that have a goal in mind and don't mind (or like) the profession.

@SIESTASIS.....A politician is a politician and will say or do anything for money. Most people with a weak constitution will do anything for enough money. The problem is "morals" and "ethics", money has none.

Let's simply face reality here. These guys in the secret service or the military are barely able to multiply, divide, add or subtract, so why should we expect intelligence and moral reserve from them. They need to have a mature intelligent boss to keep them in line and write the rules on a chalk board and you cannot leave the kids alone to play in a foreign country.

Besides, these guys are supposed to jump in front of a bullet to protect the President, not much intelligence needed there, just the sense of honor and duty and a buff body to deflect the bullets. Maybe they thought it was a duty to test out the local call girls before the President got there. Maybe they wanted to make sure the prostitutes were not a threat to the President and they needed to get drunk and do other drugs to be nice people and fit in with the locals to get the necessary information and the sex was just part of the job. An under cover job that night. (obviously being sarcastic here)

Regardless of what was going through their tiny brains, they should have had a mature adult there to baby sit while they were representing the US. When I go to other countries representing the University, I am representing the University 24 hours a day. I expect the same from our Government officials.

Ron, so you would be beaming with this same pride if your daughter sold her body like a cheap whore, with the distinct possibility of her getting herself beat to death by her pimp (after all, it's part of the profession)? Easy to make a blanket statement until perhaps a daughter of yours became one, then I'm thinking all bets would be off. When you mentioned "games many people play when dating", you sound jilted. Never give away your secrets.

                                truth,

The lives of all prostitutes are not always what you see on TV. As to the daughter comment, if she was in a situation like you describe, then I would do everything in my power to change the situation. But, if she was in a better situation, then I would still offer advice, but I don't see myself trying to force her to change.

Again, I think it gets back to the US attitude towards sex. For me, it's something you do for fun - just like playing a sport or reading a book. I don't see why it should be treated like a dirty secret that is only discussed behind closed doors.

Hardly any American women even compare to her in the visual department. :) $800 a night does seem unrealistic for such a poor country but then if i were there and so inclinded to hire a prostitute, I would seriously consider her for $800 if I got her all night long. You do realize of course they have several hispanic and black female newscasters at FOX, right? Several contributors too. Why is it everything we do not care for ends up racist? Oh, because you fail to have logical arguments (of which there are many against FOX, MSNBC, and CNN), and are reduced therefore to ad hominem attacks and inuendo. Good job.

Excluding security risks (i.e.; leaving out documents, intineraries), the actual act is not what should be questioned here. These agents should only be scrutinized and held accountable for security breaches or secrutiy deficiencies (to include risking international relations).

But, if America is going to put them under the radar for engaging in prostitution, well, then you are going to have A LOT of investigating to do in the federal government including a large group of military soldiers in foreign countries. Let's nor forget, this has been going on since we globalized our presence in foreign nations. Yes, your brothers, uncles, cousins, sons, fathers and even husbands. If they served their country abroad, it's likely many of them got served. Hell, even during stateside TDY's.

Rob as a ex sailor who was in his teens and early 20's during my service I couldnt agree with you more about how servicemen behave overseas, didnt see as much stateside though. However though these men were part of a Presidential detail, not just some US ship making a port visit, big difference. Countries should expect the best behavior from our diplomatic delegations, they dont from some sailors off a ship.

Well, in my eyes, federal government is federal government. I could qualify for the Secret Service. I spent 9 years in Spec Ops. Obtain proper security clearance, fitness level and integrity evaluation. I know of plenty federal workers who transitioned into the Secret Service. It's a federal job. Yes, the mission is elite, but it's more strategic than physical at the end of the day.

With that said, these men were off duty and had apparently completed their work. Again, if security was breached or left open...then all charges associated with that should be introduced. However, engaging in prostitution is a non-issue.

Furthermore, Im not sure WHEN you served (I served from 1995-2007), but we were absolutely expected to present ourselves in the most positive light possible in the military. But, it was well known we were going to go downtown and have drinks, check out the local party scene and have some fun. Fighting, drugs, illegal activity and so on were ZERO tolerance, as they should be.

One other thing...from my perspective, having been overseas, her charges are off the charts. No doubt, this is a scam to get money. Fifty dollars is on par actually.

of course it is. FYI $800 US is almost 2 million columbian pesos no way in hell she was making that much a night. and $800 COP is only 45 cents so that wasnt the price either. i believe that this wasnt that guys first rodeo so he knew what was the going rate and that is why he gave her what he did.

ok i really don't care about the prostitute I'm more interested in the agents being hungover while protecting our president while in a country known for kidnapping.prostitution is legal there ok that doesn't bother me that's why she simply went to the police that's why there's no pimps they're not needed.using tax payer money for it instead of they're own now that's a problem guarding the president while hungover should have them in jail! considering the guy is not married. and i agree with Rob-1647498 800 pesos maybe lol

Going rate is around 200. They do not have Pimps. They also have to be tested for STD's every 2 month's, to keep their working License. She is lying!

Agent's were just dumb and cheap....

Who cares about the going rate for a prostitute in Colombia!!!We should care more about the disgusting, unprofessional culture that has eveolved in the Secret Service while "on" duty, even though the preisent was not there yet when this happened, being drunk and hungover when he did get there is worse in a way than having had sex the night before....so much for the heroic James Bond model. And the cheapskate behavior....

When I was in the Navy I had an operation and had to stay stateside for a 6 month tour...from what I saw, the wives were just as "loyal" to their husbands as the husbands were to them in foreign ports... (i.e.; some were loyal, many were not)

As to the going rate, I do think it's valid to discuss since it gets to the character of the person making the accusation. If the going rate is $50 for one encounter, and she was having sex with multiple people and doing other unnamed "extras" that night, then the $800 bill for the night might well be legit.

Elite organizations which have little or no oversight tend to become insular. These agents and others Im sure haven't been tested in real world circumstances and their unquestioned ability needs to be questioned. I hope sloppy agents like this arent the typical agent surrounding the President.

I'd like to know what she does for $800.00. I'd just use my imagination, and I have a vivid one, but I doubt seriously that it would 'add up' to that much. Unfortunately, what she did can't be disclosed here.

Make a trip to El Paso and watch the man bring a pickup truck loaded with teenage girls to pimp out at the truck stop Cheap Charly and talk to me again about American behavior!

Not American, universal. France, Russia, English, Germany, you name it. They all do the same thing. This is not unique to America. We are the newest country and prostitution is the oldest profession, do the math.

I object to this article that is nothing more than advertising whores in South America to American men.

NBC should be charged with soliciting prostitution by publication.

Paying money to a prostitute always seemed too much like going into a bar and paying the guy next to you 20$ to act like he's your friend. Seems pretty desperate to me. I've heard lots of stupid guys who pay prostitutes try to denigrate marriage and dating by equating the money you pay in those relationships to prostitution but I think that's silly. As someone stated earlier on this thread, a prostitute will do pretty much anything for money. Hopefully your wife or girlfriend won't. An affair of the heart is a long way from an affair of the crotch. These guys are stupid.

Best part is it's totally legal where she was at and at the time there were no actual rules in place for the Secret Service that prevented this kind of thing. The only issue was they didn't want to pay, that was the dumb part if they wanted this to stay secret. I don't see how this happened though, it's really bad for everyone involved lol...

Does anyone really believe that the Secret Service Agents had weapons codes, etc., "just lying around"? They were there to check the area and review security precautions. They don't carry government secrets with them.

I have lived all over the world and American men are no bigger bullies than any other country's men. Some men are just Jerks and no nationality has cornered the market. Some women will sell themselves, that too happens in all countries.

I don't get it that any 'crime' occurred - so how does this continue to be news of any sort? The agents got stupid on the job, they've been dismissed, end of story.

You also never criticized the hooker in a logical manner AT ALL. All she did was make fun of her looks...loike a jealous female always does. "Look at her shoes", "she's ugly", "look at her hands"...who the freak cares?!?

Try using logic, not appearence and typos, to criticize people...it might have some validity in an 8th grade debate class or better.

And stop hating every woman who looks better than you and gets paid more than you, or does something you think in your head is not ethical...try having real non-psychologically flawed reasons for disliking them.

Why would anyone listen to someone like you who thinks FOX is any less or more of a propaganda machine than MSNBC, CNN, or HSN?

No one in their right mind would.

                                                    Question: should we legalize prostitution?

(Clue: the answer would be "yes" if you're not a total statist tyrant.)

Having known (not sexually) many hookers back in my drug dealing and pimping days (not times I'm proud of, but for the sake of honesty and perspective), a good stripper gets her lap dance money upfront, a good crack dealer gets his crack money upfront, and YES a smart hooker gets her cash upfront...she wasn't the brightest hooker, or they had stupid customs in Clombia (even if it was legal).

Of course, just as we should legal drugs.

See, we should be in Congress. We agree on ALMOST nothing, but can come together on important issues (and in fact civil rights issues) like these. Neither of us had to compromise anything, just collaborate.

It makes me see why Congress sucks so much. They disagree more because their constituents want them to than because they really do. It's all vote whoring (aprapos? I thought so).

I have a new repsect for you sir...I'll try to be a little less evil toward you from now on :)

(I'd like to mention though, you did say legalize MOST drugs in another post I saw...it's ALL drugs, not most, imo...people in a free society can commit suicide if they like, and by-way-of-drug is one way they do it. Also the social effects are to be governed at the point of harm and fraud, not the chance of it happening...and stats show that chance is nowhere near 100%. Harm and fraud are always wrong, but those are the crimes, not the motivations for hamr and fraud.).

Here's anopther one I bet we agree on without compromise and for totally different reasons...should we end corporate personhood?

I say yes, as a free market guy (corporations are inventions of the state and it's interventions into the market economy...although I'm sure your reasoning is totally different, I bet the answer is the same).

I was going to add this to my last post before being distracted by my neighbor at the door:

"By the way, I am a socialist who is pro free enterprise and anti-crony corporate capitalism. I also dislike libertarians because they are fakes in the face of their principles and are generally sophomoric enough to consider Ayn Rand more than a science fiction philosopher on the order of Ron Hubbard."

Harm and fraud are always wrong, but those are the crimes, not the motivations for harm and fraud.

That's an interesting thought. I want to mull that one over, it's deeper than it appears at first glance.

I'd like to mention though, you did say legalize MOST drugs in another post I saw...it's ALL drugs, not most, imo...people in a free society can commit suicide if they like, and by-way-of-drug is one way they do it.

That's true to a certain extent.

However, I am of the opinion that there are instances where it behooves a society to act protectively toward those individuals not necessarily capable of protecting themselves physically and/or mentally.

Making some chemicals available only by prescription by a professional versed in the use and dangers of that substance is sensible to my mind. While I agree that everyone has the "right" to commit suicide by whatever means, I don't know that society should either encourage or assist by way of turning a blind eye to the situation. And I therefore have no problem with society making people jump through some monitoring hoops before granting access to the more dangerous substances.

Perhaps in terms of the recreational drugs we could require that people get a license of some sort indicating that they have a rudimentary knowledge of the uses and dangers? Prostitutes could be licensed or get a trade ticket in the same way about medical and other issues that come with the job.

By the way, I am a socialist who is pro free enterprise

Okay that confuses me a bit...since socialism means (and not the general bubble gum "I hate Obama" meaning) all means of production are socially (collectively) owned, as opposed to free enterpise's hallmark; private ownership. Perhaps you mean syndicalism? Please explain, I'm intrigued.

I also dislike libertarians because they are fakes in the face of their principles and are generally sophomoric enough to consider Ayn Rand more than a science fiction philosopher on the order of Ron Hubbard

Well Ayn Rand hated libertarians as well...but because she was so vain as to believe she invented liberty philosophy (while ruining it simultaneously by being a minarchist not an anarchist). While I agree her fiction work is all that is worth recommending to another human, I have read some of her non-fiction...and in the proper context (not looking to her for answers, but with a critical mind) she's partly right. It's not original though, where she is right. For instance, "the virtue of selfishness" is really just a restated Adam Smith concept of the Invisible Hand...people accidentally benefiting others while pursuing their own self interests (which we all do everyday pretty much). I think you meant fiction, not "science fiction" per se, as I'm not off-hand aware of any science fiction works by her. She was not a libertarian though (and hated them) for sure. On her own Ayn Rand Institute website, her followers thought enough of Objectivism (her minarchist "philosophy" - it's actually an ideology like a statist-based political concepts) to list her quotes denigrating libertarians and specifically anarchists.

As far as libertarians being fakes...well certainly the minarchist ones are to a degree, as the fail to take their ideas to their logical and ethical ends...anarchism. But then again, most anarchist are fakes who do the same by saying things like "anarchism is a world without coercion" and "markets can't exist in anarchy" simultaneously. As if one could ever have a non-ceorced world where something is banned! It's illogical. They seem to think markets = harm...which is fine...but so does boxing, and only an authoritarian would ban that. Real anarchists seek to ban assault, not boxing, involuntary economics, not a specific school.

Hell, some of my favorite anarchists I've read were socialists. I think every market anarchist is a anti-state socialist at heart really...as we seek the most humanitarian world. We're just convinced market give us that world, not wealth redistribution (coerced by a state...of your own free will is fine and in fact encouraged).

As you can see, I'm not a "fake"...I say what I am plainly. I can argue my philosophy's better virtues and failings. It has all five criteria needed to be a philosophy (as lacking one or more makes it an ideology): epistemeology, metaphysics, aesthetics, logic, and ethics (most important to me).

However, I am of the opinion that there are instances where it behooves a society to act protectively toward those individuals not necessarily capable of protecting themselves physically and/or mentally.

I would agree. But the onus is on you to prove they wish to end their lives or are drug addicts out of mental deficiency or illness...as fre people can't go around proving their sanity beyond a reasonable doubt. This would be effectively impossible. However...I'm about to quote and expand on a Benjamin Tucker (socialist individualist anarchist) quote:

"If you (as an adult) have the (mental and physical) ability to govern yourself, then you have the right to govern yourself, and (logically) all external (compulsory) government is tyranny." - Benjamin Tucker and I

So certainly anyone lacking the age of adulthood or mental and physical ability to self govern (mostly this applies to the insane, the handicapped, or the criminals) others have the right to govern them in a non-harmful (or less harmful than otherwise) and non-fraudelant (or less fraudelant than otherwise) way. I say "less than otherwise" to point out sometimes there is no non-coercive choice (like stealing to keep from starving to death), and at that point one must ethically choose a seemingly non-ethical choice out of practicality..."the path of least coercion".

Making some chemicals available only by prescription by a professional versed in the use and dangers of that substance is sensible to my mind.

That's still legal, so we agree...but I would allow them to perscribe them to anyone who wanted them, not just those who "needed" them, as otherwise you create a black market and the inevitable sociopaths will run that black market. What's worse? Suicidal drug morons? Or murderous drive-by happy sociopaths with lost of money to hire lots of thugs and arm them with lots of guns and bullets (and whrther you ban guns, bullets, or cars, these drive bys will happen via a black market for whatever you ban). If we only ban that which harms or defrauds DIRECTLY (guns don't kill anyone directly, they are inanimate objects), then we do not create black markets unnecessarily.

While I agree that everyone has the "right" to commit suicide by whatever means, I don't know that society should either encourage or assist by way of turning a blind eye to the situation.

While I agree, I do not think it's encouraging suicide to make it legal. Humans tend not to kill themselves judging by population growth pre-nation-states. Also, that's a bit like saying we encourage prostitution by making it legal. Not at all...I'm against it in my personal life. I've never had sex with a hooker....and I used to pimp drug addicts back in the day (and I'm ashamed of it now). We are never going to aliminate alcohol use, but legalizing it didn't encourage it...it made addiction rates go down even as consumption went up. How is that possible? Uniform industry standards in alcohol content occured due to anti-fraud laws (labels with contents) so adult consumption became more predictable in dosage. Also, child addiction virtually plummeted to near zero...as now you had to show ID (otherwise selling to children is harm) to get alcohol. Drug dealers on the black market don't ID kids.

And I therefore have no problem with society making people jump through some monitoring hoops before granting access to the more dangerous substances

Depending on specifics, we might agree.

Perhaps in terms of the recreational drugs we could require that people get a license of some sort indicating that they have a rudimentary knowledge of the uses and dangers?

I'd be against that as I'd assume most people know heroin and crack ruin lives...and they do it anyway. That was my very involved experience. Some humans just aren't evolutionary winners. BUT...if you wanted those busted even for a minor harm or fraud to feed that habit to get a liscence...now we agree. They have compromised their individual sovereignty via harm or fraud actions, and therefore it is not tyranny to govern them. I'd say the same for hookers.

I'm pretty dead set against pre-emptive regulations. Post-action...no problem.

Now would you tell me if you want to end corporate personhood please? I asked you in the last post! :)

First, excellent post. There's nearly nary a thing I found to disagree with which you expounded on. How rare is that given my argumentative nature? I enjoy your clarity and depth.

Now would you tell me if you want to end corporate personhood please? I asked you in the last post! :)

Sorry I missed that...(today has been somewhat harried for me as I am in the middle of a move).

I would end corporate personhood in a NY minute as it is nothing but a legal nicety which got blown all out proportion from it's early 19th century invention and (especially in it's modernly expanded form) for which I can find no redeeming value to society at large.

I understand the necessity of allowing that for purposes of lawsuits and as a signatory to contracts corporate personhood is a reasonable legal fabrication, but beyond that limited construction, trying to add literal common usage definitions and rights as outlined in the US Bill of Rights to a legal entity is absurd. Corporations have no memory, no consciousness, no self-hood nor sentience that would be hallmarks of what we consider a "person". Corporations are simply economic mechanisms with no need for social interaction beyond acquisition, in that, they do not have the capability to act responsibly with the personhood rights they are being granted except within the context of their primal motive.

Tiff, we should. We're both far "left" and far "right" and yet totally agree on what is important (even if for totally different reasons). This is what the world could be...no compromise, just coalitions based on shared goals (even with different motives for those goals).

Culheath...a world with you and I setting policy would be a much better place (although I suspect most of the policy would be "do as thou pleases provided you aren't harming or defrauding anyone or their possessions/properties").

This is why Congress sucks...if two people on such polar opposites of philosophy (like us) can agree on such important things, the fact they cannot in Washington shows how BS our system really is. Maybe it's best they do nothing, if they can't do anything right.

Why are (all or most) of your comments degrading her looks? Are you old, ugly, or both? Maybe you're just a stuck-up social conservative? I'm not sure which, but obviously you have a shallow problem with your own self image. Get right with yourself, stop hating on that hot hooker. Mad you can't get $800 for what you got? hmmmmmm...lol.

Ha ha ha...yes, that's it. I'm old, ugly and jealous of a hooker. Um, the only reason ANYONE is commenting about her looks is because she proclaimed herself to be attractive. It's sort of like in court...if one side opens the door to a topic...it's fair game for the other side. This side says...she looks like a dude in drag.

Not hating on her at all but since she threw her "looks" out there to be commented on...well, free speech means we can all add our two cents if we want. If you put yourself in the public eye and make comments about your looks you are bound to get some comments - some in agreement of your own opinion - and some not in agreement. It goes with the 15 minutes of fame territory.

I think she can handle herself and probably doesn't need a Knight in Shining Armour to stick up for her.

She's the one who threw out the "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful" line. You have to back up a boast like that, and she doesn't have anything close to being hot. She isn't ugly, but she's far from being a 10, maybe a 7.

That's clear. She is one hot latina hooker. She's no J.Lo in her prime, but she's smokin' hot. Hence the price she fetches. Stop hatin', hater.

It's no different than paying for "it" with a dinner, show and drinks.

And even if that wasn't the case here, and she was in it purely for the money - so freakin' what? It's her body, not anyone else's. If a woman has an absolute right to have an abortion, why shouldn't she have an absolute right to other parts of her body?

Not many men or women can make what she makes with "what we have upstairs".

                                                                $800 a guy, just 3 guys a week is $2400 a week. That's $9600 a month. Take 2 monthes off for vaction, that's $96,000 a year...nearly double the median income of the USA...and she's in Colombia!

It's called marginal utility. If she could of made even $50,000 a year in Colombia (more than the average American Joe makes), then she just needs $46,000 in marginal utility value in her mind (her preferences) to hook and make it worth it. Some wouldn't shame themselves for $46,000 a year...but Colombia's median income is much lower...

...CIA stats show "the per capita GDP was estimated at $6,300"!

So she is shaming herself for $90,000 more in income basically....or 15.24 tmes what the average Colombian gets in total GDP of the country!

That's equivalent to a hooker making $640,000 a year in the USA! (our median income set @ $42,000 a year)

No one should tell two consenting adults what they should do with their bodies or their money. I'm actually surprised the US government hasn't figured out a way to tax the hell out of prostitution.

for the next 60 years she is going live on her memories???????? she should have been working on developing her 'upstairs', rather than putting all her hopes on the 'downstairs'. sorry, but she or anyone who does this is rather stupid, imho!

Why does it need to be taxed to be legal?!?

Why do people think only if something can be extorted (taxed) on the threat of kidnapping (prison) that it should be un-banned?!?

You're ewither for freedom and liberty or you aren't. This conditional "well we could tax it" nonsense is just social engineering and collectivist greed. Your coffers don't need more money, you need to spend less. If you tax something you are making it cost more, and thereby guiding behavior through tyranny to get some BS result YOU want. Syop taxing vices...let people do whatever they want provided they aren't directly hurting or defrauding other people!

And to the "super genius" right above me...if you made $640,000 dollars a year hooking, how many years do you need to work to save for retirement and never hook again? Not your wholel ife. I'm not saying ity's a good idea, I'm just pointing out how she was FAT paid....and almost no one here or there would have made an equivalent living doing ANYTHING else.
