First butt buddie? Maybe. But lady? Not. If I were a betting person I'd lay odds that the real partner is a first man.

Let me guess, because he is a socialist, you have decided Hollande must be gay even though there is absolutely no evidence of this. Here is a radical suggestion--how about trying to form your opinions on the basis of facts rather than the crazy ideas that float around in your head?

Seriously.. "oh la la"? What ever happened to learned journalists and editors? Every article I read has some sort of error.

Oo la la indicates some "hotness" involved with a French woman. "Oh la la" sounds like "Lah-ti-dah".

Well Steve, if every article has errors in it, and since you don't like that, why even read and post here? Nobody is forcing you to be here, and you aren't the word police either. In other words, who gives a damn if they make an error. I supose you never have made any errors in your life time?????

Expectations. Most of us have them, especially for professionals. We expect our dentist to extract the bad tooth, the RC priest to be celibate, the fire department to respond to the correct address.

Food prep workers are expected to wash their hands, Accountants are expected to have basic arithmetical skills.

It should not be unreasonable to expect to have journalists and their editors to use skills many of us believe relevant to their profession.

Actually, Steve972, the French phrase "oh la la" is incorrectly used by anglophones.

"Oh la la" is NOT an expression that infers something good, or as you wrote "indicates some hotness". It's similar to the English "oh dear!" or "oh no!" as in "Oh la la! You spilled your milk!" or "I forgot to pay the electric bill--oh la la!"

I get a big laugh every time an anglophone uses the phrase "oh la la" in the name of their restaurant or beauty salon because it indicates (to me) that the service will 'suce boules'! :-D

Sally: Jim stated my position very well. (Thank you Jim).

Charles: I appreciate the correction. We see it used in older movies as a expression of appreciation. But I would rather be corrected than make a faux pas if I have the chance to learn a bit more Frence and vist a country where it is spoken better than I likely ever will. Salud, mon ami.

DoNut: Rendered that opinion based on your knowledgable expertise of them, huh?

Carla has had too much plastique...

The new one is rousing even though she's not as glamorous.
