Subscribe to RSSIran is to build a second nuclear power plant in the southern city of Bushehr, by early 2014, state television reported Sunday, according to news reports.
"Iran will build a 1,000-megawatt nuclear power plant in Bushehr next year," state television quoted Fereydoon Abbasi Davani, the head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organisation, as saying, according to a report on Afghanistan news site Tolo News.
He was referring to the Iranian calendar year, running from March 2013 to March 2014, the site said.
The current Bushehr nuclear plant was started by German engineers in the 1970s, before Iran's Islamic Revolution, and was completed by Russia, which continues to help keep it running and provides fuel for it, Tolo News said.
Iran has repeatedly said in recent years that it is planning to build more nuclear power plants but nothing has been offered to show that any work is under way, according to a report by The Associated Press.

Yes, they are all insane. They pose no threat and never will. When you were in high school, did you turn your lunch money over to 3rd graders? We have satillites on them that can see when the workers bend over to tie thier shoes. I'm sure we also have spies all through their regime. The other billions of people on Earth are not going to let them blow up the world, not for the coming of anything. They are not the boogieman, they are ants under our magnifying glass. Stop thinking there are monsters under your bed. There aren't. Fear of these people is their greatest (only) power. That's why it's called terrorism. They can chant death to america in their streets untill hell freezes over. It is just something to giggle at. If they ever attempted to put a missile in the air we would turn them into a parking lot.
I mean really, how much has America spent on defense and weapons and reaserch and development in the last 50 years? And Iran? Have a little faith. If not in God then in satalites linked to supercomputers linked to instant intercepting missiles most of which have been pointing at the middle east for a long, long time just waiting. You don't have to like America's military, but you have to admit it's the best one on the planet. Iran is a poser loser country filled with empty threats. Don't fear them.
Once again Iran thumbs it's nose at the civilized world and once again the civilized world will react with a round of pompous harumphing while keeping their collective thumbs up their collective butts. I don't know when the day of reckoning will come with Iran, but it will come. And when it does, it will be very expensive.
Iran has the right to advance scientifically like all other nations of the world. But even in the worst case the Iranians were to be constructing a weapon it would their right to use it defending their land. Iran and all other nations that are obeying Western interests have much reason to fear the American empire and its deathly war agenda.

They are in no way sanctioned for working on defense technology. A nuke is an offensive weapon. Yes, we fight wars for oil. All wars in history were over resources or territory, even when they were masked as religion. You would be hard pressed to find a single American who would want to have ANYTHING to do with the middle east if they didn't have the oil. At least, they could rot and kill each other in their deserts for all of me. But since the world does currently run on oil we have to concern ourselves with it. I will bet anything that alboron's computer isn't running on a solar battery while he types about the "American deathly war agenda".
Whether the reason is, truth hurts about the American regime's ambition and Iran will rightfully fight back and defy the American empire.
I would never argue against the fact that America is controlled by war-mongers who make billions off of starting and continuing wars. I am really well aware of this. America has blood dripping in gallons from it's hands. But the middle east has been in damn near continuous war for a thousand years or more. It's kinda their thing. Plus the average american citizen isn't a maniac who spends their days marching in the hot desert sun burning Iranian flags and calling for them to be destroyed. There are plenty of warmongering government bigshots doing it, yes. But on a whole, no. I'm not afraid of them, and I think they have a right to defend themselves of course. But given the history over there I can understand people worrying over it. Not every country is Israel or America, you see. With the bomb they could dominate many underdeveloped countries and draw us into WW3 for the love of god. They are an indirect threat, but that is still a threat.
The American government strikes without signs of threat. The sanctions are only the first step towards that war and the Americans actually hate that particular nation supporting the policies not needing to express. The Middle East has being definitely in conflict since biblical times and the world must not waste time trying to fix that. Israel and Iran need to stop it or confront the consequences.

My question is. What will Obama do to US security and our national economy if he is reelected and has"flexibility" to do what he wants? Will he attack Iran or pull all forces out of the area so Iran can fully develop their weapons.

Reality is a bitch, ain't it? Does anyone remember how this got so out-of-hand with O'bozo? In the begining, only one site existed. Iran stalled, bs'ed and locked any inspection of their site. Back then, we were at the verge of bombing the place. After months of "negotiations", iran decided that they would agree to inspection. They said "OK, but by the way, here are five sites we didn't tell you about." Instead of O'bozo bombing all of them, he did nothing! He again showed that he is a fool, so everybody is more than happy to screw him over, whenever the opportunity arises. Instead of one site getting bombed, they showed five we had no idea of, and no response from US.

When you look at it with a functioning brain, you can ask yourself, why would Iran want to attack Israel or the US? Iran would have nothing to gain. Iran has all the resources it wants or needs. Iran has plenty of oil, gas and water. Israel has nothing, except American politicians in her pocket.
Iran knows if they ever attacked Israel, they would be leveled. They don't even have the remotest chance of attacking the US, so that is out of the question.
Iran is not a threat to any nation. However, if attacked, it could do damage to surounding countries, primarily the one that attacks them.

We have thousands of nuclear weapons, submarines, missiles and war planes. Iran has nothing, much like Iraq had nothing. No missiles, nukes or blue water navy. They have an antiquated air force.
The UN is usless. They have been sitting on their hands for the past two years and have done nothing.
They are investigating their own corruptions, with untrained and corrupt investigators. Great work when you don't want to find out anything. We make the best nukes in the world. We should be taking Iran's money to provide Iran with the best nuclear power plants and fuel that we know can not be used to make weapons without us knowing.

Just like after WW2 when my dad would bitch about Japs and Krauts and anything to do with them I learned the hate came from the War . I wonder how much of what happens between the US and Iran is related to the oldtimers and maybe their kids who basically lived a middle east Hatfield's and McCoy .

I say we all go nuke. We do not have enough two headed calves in the world. Evolution needs a little help huh. Does mother nature really care if there are humans. So the Iran issue is the Mullahs = religious leaders running government correct , so why is it such a tuff fight getting many and I mean MANY Americans to agree separation of church and state is so important . Don't anyone think if Iran wanted a nuke they could have gotten one perhaps they really do just want it for what they say they want it for how can we as Americans priding ourselves on ones right to chose how they live then tell another sovereign nation how they should do business when the Iranian people decide they no longer want to be oppressed they will stand and die for what they want and freedom loving people will stand with them . Better watch your own governments least you lose what freedoms you have real or imagined .
