Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair was accused of being "a war criminal" by a heckler who burst into a courtroom as he testified at an U.K. inquiry into media ethics on Monday.
Updated at 10:49 a.m. ET: LONDON - Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair was accused of being "a war criminal" by a heckler who burst into a courtroom as he testifed at an U.K. inquiry into media ethics on Monday.
The protester, who gave his name as David Lawley-Wakelin, shouted that Blair should be arrested -- but only seconds later he was bundled away by security staff.
He yelled at Blair, who is a $2.5-million-a-year adviser to U.S. investment bank JP Morgan: "This man should be arrested for war crimes. JP Morgan paid him off for the Iraq war, three months after he invaded Iraq."
In response to the outburst, Blair said: "Can I just say on the record what he said about Iraq and JP Morgan is completely and totally untrue. I have never had a discussion with them about that."
Lawley-Wakelin describes himself online as a documentary film-maker working on a project called the "The Alternative Iraq Enquiry", for which he has traveled to Iraq.
ITV News reported he was being questioned by police, but later released.
Sky News reported that an investigation was immediately launched into how he entered the secure area of the court - an embarrassing breach of security less than a year after Rupert Murdoch was hit by a custard pie at a inquiry into the same subject at Britain's parliament.
Prior to the interruption, Blair was facing questions about his relationship with Murdoch.
Blair, who served as prime minister between 1997 and 2007, was the latest senior politician to appear at the investigation set up last year in the wake of a phone-hacking scandal when it emerged that reporters at the Murdoch-owned News of the World tabloid had routinely hacked into the phones of public figures. Other witnesses have included actor Hugh Grant, as well as Murdoch and his son James.

Blair is godfather to one of the powerful News Corp. chairman and CEO.'s children.
Ordered by Prime Minister David Cameron, the inquiry has tarnished Britain's elite by laying bare the collusion between politicians, the police and the media.
Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair testified this morning about his close ties to media mogul Rupert Murdoch, who's News of the World tabloid is in the middle of a phone-hacking scandal. NBC's Stephanie Gosk reports.
While Blair is no longer active in British politics, the inquiry may still prove uncomfortable as it examines issues such as his decision after stepping down as prime minister to become a godfather to Murdoch's daughter Grace at a ceremony on the banks of the River Jordan.
"Blair led the way in having no shame about courting Murdoch," said Ivor Gaber, professor of political journalism at City University. "He set the style and the standard and if you regard Cameron as the 'heir to Blair' then it's not exactly surprising that he followed suit."
The BBC reported that, giving evidence earlier in May, one of Mr Blair's former Cabinet ministers told the inquiry he felt the relationship had "arguably" become "closer than wise".
Murdoch told the inquiry last month that he had never asked a prime minister for anything.
Blair set the tone for his relationship with Britain's press when he flew to Australia in 1995 to speak before a gathering of Murdoch's executives who had previously used their British tabloids to vilify his Labour Party predecessors.
'Into the lion's den'
The decision infuriated much of his left-of-center party who saw the Australian-born tycoon as a right-winger who had helped to keep them out of power for years.
"People would be horrified," Blair said later in his autobiography. "On the other hand ... not to go was to say 'carry on and do your worst,' and we knew their worst was very bad indeed."
Former News International chief executive Rebekah Brooks and her husband, Charlie Brooks, have been charged with perverting the course of justice during the U.K. phone hacking scandal. ITV's Keir Simmons reports.
"The country's most powerful newspaper proprietor, whose publications have hitherto been rancorous in their opposition to the Labour party, invites us into the lion's den. You go, don't you?"
With the backing of Murdoch's top-selling Sun tabloid, Blair swept to power in 1997 and again in 2001 and 2005. But with an ever-increasing reputation for public relations "spin", he started to face questions over his sincerity.
"Tony Blair quickly became famous in Fleet Street for inviting in one group of newspaper people and telling them how skeptical he was about Europe; and then inviting in another lot and telling them how keen he was on Europe," Andrew Marr, a senior BBC journalist, told the inquiry.
May 1: Rupert and James Murdoch are severely criticized after investigations into phone-hacking allegations - and three of their senior executives are accused of misleading parliament. ITN's Juliet Bremner reports.
"But the different groups compared notes, and his reputation was not hugely enhanced."
Much of that came to a head when Blair and then President George W. Bush agreed to invade Iraq, going against the public opinion in Britain.
Blair is likely to be asked why he spoke to Murdoch three times in the days leading up to the Iraq war and whether this had any impact on the fact that all Murdoch's papers supported the unpopular invasion.
Rupert Murdoch returned to the Leveson Inquiry to give evidence for a second day. ITV's Paul Davis reports.
He will also be asked whether his reliance on Britain's press meant that he did not properly scrutinize their role in society and whether any group, such as Murdoch's UK arm, News International, had too much control of the market.
"There was a desperation to get the Sun onside and to get News International on side, basically at all costs," Liverpool University's political professor Jonathan Tonge, told Reuters. "And if that meant sacrificing a serious analysis of the relationship and the health of the relationship, then so be it."
Reuters and The Associated Press contributed to this report.

who do you expect this mass murdering, serial killing psychopath to associate with
"Much of that came to a head when Blair and then President George W. Bush agreed to invade Iraq, going against the public opinion in Britain."
Tip of iceberg of the cheap agents who sold their countries and citizens dirt cheap!
I wonder who the real serial killers are and i wonder how many lives big corporations take all with no accountablity the garbage they feed the people the water they pollute the air they pollute , but if you are starving dont take a chocolate bar this system will string you up. The weapons of mass destuction were used in Iraq. In Syria they just stand back and watch another serial killer.
The headline should read, "Lax Security Allows Total Idiot Into Hearings"
I would dearly love to see Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld take the stand on war criminal charges. In Cheney's case, better hurry as his death may cheat us from that.
Blair is a puppet to the US and big oil.
The protester must be a Saddam Hussein lover ...
Cheney will probably outlive many of us. He has deep pockets and can afford the medical care that will keep him alive for a long time.
Not sure what the charges would be ... do you have any idea?
terrible to take someone in the NATIONAL Guard ... put him or her in a war that is trumped up and not National ... and destroy families lives ....
Truly heartless, dumb, and criminal ............
Any politician taking the decision to invade a country IS A CRIMINAL ! War can only be justified when someone invade us.
Yes, Bush and his clique should be arrested for war crimes because they are white collar war criminals that protect themselves with corrupt justist systems, and the police
They make laws for the average citizens but them are not concerned !
ummm, lying to the American people, for starters.
Good luck with that. I think you will find that the best intelligence supported the assertions that Saddam had WMDs. If lying, as you put it, is a war crime, you might want to start with Clinton.
So you are saying we were not justified to go to war in WWII?
Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Blair and Murdoch all need to be tried as terrorists and their assests siezed and distributed to the families of the soldiers who died fighting wars for Unocal and Haliburton.
Bush Cheney Rumsfeld they all should be tried for war crimes. But little Tony should be tried for aiding and abaiting these war crimes. That's all he did. He didn't really have the balls to go to war with Tanzania if it were to be done by himself. Iraq would be too big for him.
I see history isn't your best subject, David. WW II started in Sept. 1939 when Germany invaded Poland. The US entered that war in Dec. 1941 after being invaded by Japan, an ally of Germany and Italy. So, no rush to judgement there. In fact, the government listened to the demands of the people who overwhelmingly supported staying out of the war. Unlike Bush, who invaded a country that had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks, lied to the American people and went ahead anyway. There are 4,000 troops that would still be alive today if greed and corruption hadn't gotten in the way.
"There was a desperation to get the Sun onside and to get News International on side, basically at all costs," Liverpool University's political professor Jonathan Tonge, told Reuters. "And if that meant sacrificing a serious analysis of the relationship and the health of the relationship, then so be it."
Sort of like when Obama panders to NBC and vice versa?
Who would believe a "heckler"?
There's lots of "hecklers' on the streets. Why take this one serious?
When there is a major uproar against Tony Blair, I'll give more consideration to the story.
This is tablboid news. Not journalism.
poodlefan, please, back away from your keyboard and go back to smoking your crack pipe. I have seen other posts of yours and none of them ever make sense.
poodlefan007 " War can only be justified when someone invade us."
So John F. Kennedy is a war criminal for starting the Vietnam War? And Lyndon Johnson as well for greatly expanding it?
And was Woodrew Wilson a war criminal for entering WW1 against Germany?
The attack on Pearl Harbor could be viewed as an attack like the one on the WTC. The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, much as the jihadists "bombed" the WTC and the Pentagon with those aircraft. There were no Japanese ground troops involved; there were no Japanese ground troops and no bombings on the mainland US. So, David's question is an valid one- saying that the WTC attack (which was a SECOND attack on the same place) was not an attack that was grounds for entering a war is the same as saying the attack on Pearl Harbor was not grounds for entering a war. Whether committed by terrorist organizations or by a country's regular military, an unprovoked attack is an unprovoked attack. The US has turned its cheeks far too many times; the Cole, Khobar Towers, both WTC attacks, etc. etc. etc.
If anyone truly believes that the non-Muslim people of the world aren't at war with Muslim extremists, they're delusional. These radicals believe that if you're not Muslim, you don't deserve to live. They truly believe that Allah wants them to seek out and murder all "infidels"- men, women, and children. They use their own women and children to carry out many of these attacks. They have no honor.
I agree that the US had a legitimate reason to go into Afghanistan, but not to Iraq. Someday Bush and Chaney will be tried in a court of law. I believe public opinion here and abroard is that they were wrong and had personal interest for doing it, especially in our allies opinion, its that it was an unjustified attack. People will remember those 2 as war criminals, now hopefully they are brought to justice.
David's problem, and Dani's, and this is a BIG problem, is that Iraq did not invade us -- A FUNDAMENTALIST MILITANT RELIGIOUS GROUP DID. And the U.S.A. wasn't even invaded then, it was ATTACKED.
But hey, David and Dani, please do not allow facts and TRUTH to get in the way of your twisted, biased opinions.
Actually yes. Exactly as Dwight Eisenhower said - they all became hostage to the war machine and waged unnecessary wars all over the world. JFK was a great president and so was Lyndon Johnson. Unfortunately they waged wars neither US nor the world needed. And in doing so war crimes were commited.
At one time not too long ago, the "infidels" were anybody who didn't bow down to the Catholic Church. Those infamous Crusaders were blessed by Rome to rape and rob the Muslims across the Mediterranean. So what's new?
Bush Derangement Syndrome still alive and (un)well and apparently incurable inspite of the election of Barrack Hussein Obama. A major symptom of this mental illness is voting against Bush (again) in 2012, 2016, 2020 ...
Well, cottoncat, I must tell you that if the Catholic church (or any other religious organization) started another Inquisition, I would feel just as strongly against that agenda as I do against the radical Muslim agenda. The fact that it's a Muslim jihad against "infidels" doesn't make it any more okay than the Catholic war against all "heretics".
And to quacked: Iraq didn't "invade" the US any more than Japan did, but Iraq doesn't mind harboring those who would do so. I have a cousin who has done four tours in Iraq. When he tells me that yes, the US presence there was justified, I believe him.
The nice thing about life is that soon the seasons change and the farmer gets to reap what he sowed. Regardless of human laws, Universal laws apply at all times and all our actions will come back to exact reconciliation with personal responsibility. There is no where to hide from oneself regardless of monetary values in the bank. Even for blair, bush and dick.
Yes, JFK, AND Lyndon Johnson were War Criminals in attacking tiny VietNam, then Richard Nixon,Republican candidate for president, in an effort to beat Hubert Humphrey, the Democrat candidate in 1968, did something even worse.....the North Viet-Namese were sitting down in Paris talking Peace with the USA...talking PEACE,..and Nixons emissaries met secretly with the North VietNamese in Paris, when Nixon was just an un-elected civilian...and in violation of federal law which prohibits civilians from making such deals with foreign governments, Nixons people promised BETTER TERMS to North VietNam if the North VietNamese would leave the Peace Talks in Paris to embarass the Democratic Party ( Johnson was still president).....
The North VietNamese agreed and walked away from the Paris Peace Talks, which got Nixon elected, then the lousy Scum Nixon pressed on with the War for another 5 years !!! Result, another 11,000 American dead, 27,000 wounded and 58,000 Vietnamese dead......
Nixon and his advisor Henry Kissinger did this, and both should have gone before a firing squad.......
Until 1964, the US had supported South Vietnam with money and military advisers. It wasn't until 1964, when LBJ reported that US navy vessels had been attacked by North Vietnam, that troops were sent. The US supported the South because of the fear of the spread of Communism. Although Nixon increased bombings in North Vietnam, he also began withdrawing troops; this sudden withdrawal of support led to the downfall of South Vietnam.
.....AND George W. Bush and Dick Cheney are BIG WAR CRIMINALs on the same ranking as Hermann Goering or Josef Goebbels....the UN had inspected and inspected again and again for the so-called WMDs in Iraq and could find NONE.....even Bush's father was astounded that, first of all his dumb son, George W. Bush was elected President and he and Barbara Bush said so... they were astonished " We thought that Jeb might have a chance one time, but never George...." ...Barbara Bush
The Old Man, George H.W. Bush told him, once the invasion began to "Stay out of Baghdad, if you go in there, you'll break Iraq into pieces and the USA will have to stay and repair the mess"............
But George W. Bush is not playing with a full deck of cards, maybe only 46 or 47 cards...he got into Harvard Business School because of family connections and graduated 6th LOWEST in a class of 900 !
Turns out there were NO WMD's, and NO Al Quaeda ( the CIA had already told him so) and there was NO reason to invade and LOTS of reasons NOT to invade........such as the destabilization of the Mideast which little BUSH created.......definitely Firing Squad for little Bush
America's entry into World War I was a Declaration of War, which means the President must go before Congress and receive approval. Roosevelt did the same on Dec. 8, 1941. Both times the votes were unanomously in favor of military action. Since then, no wars have been formally declared making them military interventions or police actions, not wars. btw, Wilson was hardly a war criminal. He tried his best to keep this country out of combat operations on the Western Front, but after repeated violations on the open seas by the German navy, he had no choice. Geez, you wingnuts need to study your history.
Geez, liam, I sure hope you're not teaching any history classes.
Funny thing about white paper is that it will accept any ink. So does history when it is written by those 'in power'.
Iraq never harbored any of the extremists that attacked the US until AFTER we invaded Iraq, then the extremists came running for a chance to "kill the invader infidels". but dani, it's funny that you mention the Cole and Khobar towers, both of which are symbols of American intervention and meddling in the affairs of coutries overseas
the muslim extremist nutcases aren't the ones with military bases in dozens of countries overseas...
David said "So you are saying we were not justified to go to war in WWII?" Wow, totally wow. Forgot about Pearl Harbor, or so ignorant of history that you've never even heard of it?
I can't remember which of the rocket surgeon's here equated opposing the Iraq War as lovers of Saddam, one does not equal the other. We've hated North Korean dictators for 60 years, Castro for 50, but we ain't in massive wars brought to us via lies.
To those who still trumpet "all the intelligence said WMD..." are--what's the word?--wrong! Most of the intel said it was bad info, but Cheney and Wolfowitz and their ilk kept fudging the numbers till they got the answers they wanted. When the CIA said that Saddam might be working on WMD, but they can't find hard evidence, The Neo-Cons relayed that as a fact, not a supposition.
As far as what charges could be brought against Bush, Cheney, et. al.; TORTURE! Water boarding is considered torture by all international standards, and by American standards as well, until the amoral Bush regime came along.
Well, the Brits have gotten us back for this one......LMAO! Anything will be done to save American lives, why do you think the Atomic bombs were dropped on Japan. The estimated cost of American lives to invade the Japanese homeland was un acceptable. So we melted people, whats a little well placed water.

@tonybeerm - Thank you for your accurate history lesson. The debacle that is the current Middle East and North Africa is a direct outcome of some of the late 19th Century European empire building, mostly of the Great War and, with subsequent contributions from the outcomes of World War II. Various revolutions in the region haven't substantially changed or resolved the roots of tensions that all finally came into existance as we know them now after World War II. Even the Afghan invasion by the former Soviet Union didn't resolve anything and exacerbated tensions there. The original Triple Entente in the Great War was Britain, France and Russia. The original Central Powers were German, Austria-Hungary and Italy. The US didn't enter the war until 1917 and then only after repeated sinking of neutral US ships outside the internationally recognized beligerancy zone by Germany, an violation of long understood and accepted laws of the sea and an act of war that killed numerous US citizens. Even then, the US was not at war with any nation other than Germany, and so did not ally with the Entente, but became an "Associated Power." However, the outcome, revolutions and nations created by the Great War created the ideal conditions for the European part of World War II. At least those conditions were not repeated after World War II in Eurpoe, but they still exist in the Middle East. The great unrest in the Middle East today is a consequence of World War I and the Entente's war with the former Ottoman Empire (i.e. Anatolia, Arabia, Egypt and Sudan which comprised the entire region from the south coast of the Black Sea south to almost all of the Arabian Peninsula, west to Greece, east to Persia (Iran) along with eastern North Africa comprising Egypt and Sudan) something in which the US did not participate. In the decline of the Ottoman Empire from the last of the 19th century until its ultimate demise after the end of World War I with the Turkish Revolution, the Entente powers singlely and collectively created the Middle East and North African nations and governments that substantially exist today. The point here is that we never seem to learn from history. From the sixth century onward, there have been powers in the Middle East that revolve about an axis that is Islam. Countries and empires have come and gone, but Islam remains the constant axis. 19th, 20th and 21st century interventions and wars have sought peace and stability, sometimes at the expense of the region, other times to its benefit. Yet Islam remains the constant axis. Were this axis benign, no one would ever care. But it is not benign. Over the centuries, it has been, at best, a suppressed malignancy, at worst a raging torrent of violence against people, esepecially innocent bystanders to its rage and most especially to women and children all with whom it vests no respect of person, whether they be Muslim or Infidel. Were it of violence because of the taint of political or ethnic ambition, it would be of only temporary significance, as has been the case with other religions when their taints from political and ethnic ambitions are overcome or naturally dissipate. But, the violence is not because of that taint. The violence is intrinsic to Islam itself and has continuously been so for 14 centuries. The fundamental conflict from which that violence is this: Islam by its very essence, cannot coexist with anything else that is not Islamic and, by virtue of its essence, must prevail, through violence if it encounters any resistance at all, over all other world views and religions. It must, by its very essence, extinguish through conversion or death and destruction, all else that is not Islamic. The current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have their deepest roots in the axis of Islam. The greatest danger to the occidental is not seeing or believing the danger.
Comment # 1 restored for clarity.
Comment # 2 deleted, huge derail.
danwill: Muslim extremists do indeed have "bases" all over the world. Their "bases" may not be noted on any maps, but they're there. And they're here.
sorry dani, a handful of nuts trying to make homemade bombs in a garage or kitchen lab do not constitute a "military base"
paranoia will destroy you (and you will happily take the rest of the world down with you)
Danwill, then how did 9-11 happen? Is it paranoid to want that to not happen again? How many support groups did they have in this country? How many groups were helping finance their efforts in this country?......Are we comfortable that you feel that it was just a handfull of nuts?
9/11, guys with BOX-CUTTERS exploiting the then current policy of cooperating with hijackers.
so are you going to claim that a handful of lunatics with box cutters constitute a "military base" on US soil?
ROFLMAO!
how about OK city, oh yeah, that was a US citizen that was NOT a muslim building a truck bomb right here in the good ole USA. so would you consider these "christian militant militias" that are armed to the teeth and keep making noise about a new revolution to be part of these "hostile bases"? how hard should we clamp down on people that think the country is going the wrong way? how many "undesirables" should be imprisoned and silenced? when they start coming for your family members because they might have expressed dissatisfaction, are you going to complain then? what happens when they come for you for complaining? why don't you explain just how much you are willing to let the government control your life to make you feel safe from the big bad boogymen when there are thousands of things that are hundreds of times more likely to kill you
why don't you tell me how many microscopes you are going to let the government crawl up your a$$ with?
danwill....You have gone from ridiculous...to extreme ridiculous.... they dont have military bases here in the sense of WW2 type bases....But it is extremely dumb to assume that they had no plan other than to acquire box cutters. What they did took some money, effort and planning. There are organizations right here in our country supporting these radical killers knowing that this can be the result....You are living in a make believe world....A nutty, ignorant hate america make believe world. It is unbelievable that you can trivialize what these killers did and are willing to do again...
j.a., I refer you to comment #1.41:
ok?
where did I say they didn't plan anything? they planned to exploit a policy that was in effect up until 9/11, they were promising the victims on the plane that everything would be alright until they flew the planes into the WTC buildings. from what I recall, the original idea was to get 20 planes at the same time, but they only ended up getting four . with the victims on the fourth making the heroic decision to go down fighting those a$$holes rather than be used as a bomb.
yep, and there are entirely homegrown organizations that would do great harm if they could too, organizations that would do so while waving the flag. look at OK City and Norway for examples of extreme right-wing lunacy.
"hate America"? where do you idiots come up with this sh!t? we are neither the sole source of all good in the world nor the source of all evil in the world, you are the one that is being ridiculous. I suppose you are one of those delusional fools that thinks that "they are attacking us because they are so jealous of us" rather than responding to the various miscalculations and mistakes we have made over the decades. Iran does have rather strong reasons to distrust us (and I think their government IS an absolute joke, albeit a dangerous one), including the overthrow of a fairly elected leader by our own CIA and our support of the ruthless dictator that replaced him.
but what ultimately emerged is proving to be even worse. that is what I mean by miscalculations and mistakes, the list is quite long of our errors from meddling in the affairs of other countries. even 9/11 would probably not have happened if we had kept our word to the Afghanis after Russia pulled out, but we just dropped them after we used them to embarrass Russia. on the other hand, we have also done a lot of good in the world , giving aid and food to many of those that have been in need. we aren't perfect either way.
now back to our own soil, this increasingly ubiquitous survellience system that intrudes ever deeper into our lives "in the name of safety from scary terrorists" can go horribly wrong faster than you could blink, we are installing all the mechanisms for a full police state "to keep safe from scary terrorists", and as this "security apparatus" keeps growing in power and ability to probe ever deeper into our lives, any administration, acting with congress, could simply use it to take full control in a heartbeat. and then there would be nothing you or i could do about it. I couldn't even predict if it would be a far right administration or a far left one, because they both keep the security state growing.
it happened in Germany, it could just as easily happen here. I just want people to keep their eyes open and mind clear as to how it could all go wrong without our own vigilance. we have to watch the watchers and maintain a balance between security and freedom. otherwise, you can (and will) just kiss that freedom goodbye
How understanding of morality, ethics and justice evolving now, so such creature is walking away every crime he commits. How dangerous and powerful still he must be – there is no single court or prosecutor can touch him.
Another liberal left wing nut like Michael Moore claiming everything in the world is a conservative conspiracy. He is coo-coo for cocoa puffs.
Mosin: It's not just one "liberal left wing nut", but a popular concensus a conspiracy exists; thus the purpose of the official inquests.
George W. Bush, Tony Blair, and Dick Cheney all need to be charged and prosecuted for War Crimes, but they probably never will be. It is shocking how leaders can get away with mass murder and never have to face trial for their actions.
The Iraq War was perpetrated by lies about Weapons of Mass Destruction and was totally illegitimate. I have nothing but contempt for Blair, Bush, and Cheney. It is also shocking too how Obama has perpetuated Bush's policies on Guantanamo, and Afghanistan. Left or Right, world leaders are often immoral.
Jesse G: We are living in a crony capitalistic world. Always, follow the money.
Jesse-G
if you were to do a little investigating you would see that the bush family is notorious for war crimes and profiteering from death. the grandfather and greatgrandfather were caught in october 1942 of dealing with the enemy. the original family fortune came from slave labor in naxi occupied poland. poison gas was also in high demand which was also provided. this was well after the war started and our own troups were being killed and the holocaust was well underway. nothing was done to these criminals except the government closed the bank they were doing business through. in fact, the grandfather was elected to congress in 1952 and never a word was said about his nazi ties.
d
For Bushes, Blairs, Clintons, many Republicans, conservatives and other cheap agents of oil companies, lobbyists including Jewish lobbists, "morality, ethics and justice" were not their in their dictionaries. They danced on Iraqi wars as Saudis and co and oil companies wanted.
Despite horrible economies all around, the same gangs are imposing sanctions on Iranian oil and manipulating oil prices higher.
Who in right senses would worry about Iran and Syria while there are too many miseries of people at home?
only the LOSERS in a conflict can be tried as war criminals .. Blair ...Cheney ... Bush .. will never be tried those on the WINNING side had god on their side...
Blair is a war criminal, just like Bush and Cheney are.
Tony Blair was the leader of the Labour Party, the equivalent of the Democrats. How is it claiming a "conservative conspiracy" when you take that into account?????? Apparently you're the one with political blinders on.
All of you liberal left wing anti war wackos like to claim all of these charges against those that you do not agree with. But as Mondale once proclaimed "Where's the beef?". All I see from y'all is hot air from a buch left wing wind bags. if you got proof send it to the Hague, otherwise go pound some sand. Y'all are anti anyone except for what you support. To claim that the labour party was part of a conservative consipracy is absolutely ludicrious. You are as bad as that wacko Cindy Sheehan was, now that Obama is in power you dont ever hear a peep out of her. Wacko and liberal, just like a watermelon, green on the outside but soft and red on the inside.
Murdoch is a megalomaniac out to control history--his kind is the reason countries need to place reasonable limits on how much media one person can control.
Does that apply to Obama?h\He has almost all media in this country kissing his ass but I bet the liberals here don't mind. No,all they can do is complain that Fox is not in bed with Obama and claim[falsely]that they tell lies although never back it up with any facts. Not so for liberal media, they have been caught lying on many occasion,Trayvon Martin case being the latest.
there goes the famous "blame the liberal media" excuse when you have no substantial argument. The facts are that nearly all news outsources are owned by large media corporations, who would hardly favor a liberal agenda. The other fact is that President Obama is more of a centrist than liberal. But don't let that get in the way of hate.
I voted for Obama last time and definitely won't this time. Romney is of the same club and the only alternative is Ron Paul. He will get my vote if there is even an election. The way it looks, the U.N. is going to announce this year that it is now the Global gov't. It already has announced plans to take away our right of property ownership in the name of climate change. Look closely to what comes out of the U.N. Environmental conference in Rio soon. Better plant a garden and stock up on necessities!
George Soros does the same thing. Where is everyone griping over him? If Murdoch were liberal we wouldn't even be on this discussion board.
Rush Limbaugh actually works for Mitt Romney's company. Bain Capital owns Clear Channel, but I guess that doesn't count.
Control the news, control the world.
Theyre all bought and paid for, just look at how much money they raise to run for office.Congress is horrible.
No term limits for congress, they vote that for themselves? This endless war stuff is stupid,i guess its great if your profiting from it.
Ill write Ron Paul in.He is the only decent one.Romney and Obama are about the same.
So you dont like wars?think theyre stupid?write in Ron Paul he would end wars and close overseas bases.
Wheres all the support for Ron Paul from anti war folks!
Just think of it this way,if RP loses you get either Obama or Romney, theyre voting record is about the same. But change would be good im not impressed with Obama.
Remember! Ralph Nader syphoned off enough votes from Gore to make the showdown with Bush possible.
By voting for Paul you invite the same catastrophy
Or we'll get a brokered convention and could end up with Dr. Paul, the same way we got former President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Like Ron I will be voting for Ron Paul also.
tonybeemer needs a little schooling too. Bush did get congressional approval to invade Iraq. The Japanese didn't invade the US....they attacked our fleet at Pearl Harbor. Quit talking out of your a**.
tonybeeerm
good post and i agree wholeheartedly!!!!! however, hate seems to be the main objective of modern politicians. sort of stirring the pot to keep things going ! makes you wonder what their real objective is. is it because we are in 145 countries now? i believe there are only 196 countries in the world. something bigger?
You sure you're not Stoned Mason? Do you really think that we as American citizens, liberal, conservative or independent, are going to let the UN take away our soveriegnty just like that? Where you ever get this stuff is beyond me. Must smoke hooch and watch too many movies.
@baldeagle - thanks for the compliment.
FATCAT you are trying hard to be one of the great bloggers on this page but for jumping up jacks please provide FACTS not lies, made up stuff and innuendos. Clear Channel, Rush and Romney have no connection except in a true business sense.
And for you info Romney is no longer with Bain. And Bain is a stockholder in Clear Channel and Rush is found on Clear Channel stations across the Nation. But neither he, nor Romney are employees of Bain.
Try to rest more in the afternoon... it will ease the frontal lobe pain, perhaps?
Tony - Love your avatar. Michelle is probably enjoying this way more than any time spent with Marcus!
every voter that writes in Ron Paul will be another vote for Obama..
This is something that should happen to all the mass media mongral dogs. All the news that is important to is tainted by these dogs. All news companies in the US are controlled by them. I want to know, Who the republican was that got to you to stiffle NBC for telling the truth. It was a,"who cares about it thing." This makes me wonder how many other facts of truth that you are preventing me from knowing!
6dogs
no need to wonder
President Ronald Reagan changed the laws of the United States of America for Rupert Murdoch when he purchased FOX Network. At that time it was illegal for anyone but a native-born citizen to own a radio or television station in this country, but Murdoch had bags of money so Ronnie changed the law (as Republicans always do for anyone who has money) so that a naturalized citizen can own a broadcast station. Look it up, that's what happened after Murdoch bought FOX.
That's right, Ronnie Reagan legalized Murdoch's purchase after the fact. You needn't believe me, check the facts for yourself. Something illegal happened and a Republican president made it legal.
At the same time the law was also changed to allow news stations to report other than the truth. Was there a connection? What do you think? Lies, manipulations, 'infotainment', all of this we owe to our actor president. I never voted for him and would give a lot to have these laws undone. There's no integrity in journalism now. It's sickening.
This is news?
I know Peridiot, their nothing like democrats. Democrats are all poor, they never tell lies, they would never do anything to harm anyone. They are saints.
Hey Peridiot--Corporations own Networks and many of those corporations shareholders are foriegn born non-citizens. Just like we can own shares in foriegn corps, they can own shares in american corps. How thick is that tin-foil you wear?
Thanks mostly to your lap dog liberal media outlets like this one einstein.
LlewellenFawr, your lack of information is glaringly obvious.
First, to own controlling stock or outright own a broadcast co. you must be a natural-born citizen. His point is the law was changed for Murdock. Someone (individual) must apply to the FCC for the permit. That would be the owner or owner of the controlling interest. Simple.
Second, if you are going to take everything you are told by the media as truth, you are lost. I can only imagine the sheltered lives you and others here have lived in order to come up with the claims you make here. You live in a dreamworld of catch-phrases, and talking-points. Reality is much more complicated than that. I'm sure you take satisfaction from getting your little digs into people here. Having a real understanding of the events in our world takes some fortitude. Living within your bubble is easy. Stepping out of it takes accepting our elected officials for the most part, don't care about you, me, your family or friends.
Our world is changing so much right now, in a short time you won't recognize it.
Aren't you glad Obama has been so "transparent" and has "drained the swamp" during his tenure as president? If you think that it would be fair to arrest and imprison administrations for lying, Obama and his leftist liberal ilk should get a life sentence for all the lies that they have and continue to espouse.
trkrueg - But obama is god and above all things. Lmao...
As for MSNBC, I would say that this articles editor has to be the most incompetent one alive. A "war criminal" headline for an investigation into the murdoch/blair connection. I guess MSNBC are just a bunch of greedy SOB's going for clicks equal cash.
Either, NBC News' Baruch Ben-Chorin and msnbc.com's Alastair Jamieson, or both should lose their positions. A better rag for them to report from should be the national enquirer or whatever the currrent rag is.
peridot your story sounds good but if you look at the time line it doesn't add up
congress revised the fcc rules in the 1984 cable television act which had nothing to do with changing the fact you had to be a us citizen to own radio or newspapers. the law never said native born, just barred foreign ownership.
ok so that was 1984.
in 1985 Murdoch became a US citizen
and then in 1986 he launched the fox news channel
so what act of congress did Reagan sign in 1986?
Well, you don't think Murdock had been planning it all along? Just a timeline to convince you Murdock and our politicians weren't in bed together. A little naive eh?
Imagine that, sneaky rich folk getting theyre way.Its always good to come here and read about the evil republicans and the sainted democrats. The democrats are of course all poor and live with the average man, they feel your pain.I use the image of Nancy Pulousy or Harry Reid as diet aids, they make me feel sick and i lose my appetite.
Actually RR did not change the law, only Congress has the authority but let us not let facts interfer with you reality
It would be interesting to hear Toni Blair's version about how GW Bush and the neo cons associated the attacks on 911 to Saddam Hussien and the bin Laden lead al-Qaida especially when Blair had no dog in the fight? Americans can understand why GW Bush wanted Saddam out to appease his father, but why Toni Blair got involved when he didn't have to personally other then risk the lives of those British soldiers? But now that he has ties to Wall Street more of the historic story can be told. It is still a lingering question as to how bin Laden when cornered the military was called to pull back and not pursue, months later Bush had no more concern for the man he claimed he would chase to the ends of the Earth to kill. History will tell the truth about the Bush's and every leader they took down with them including Saudi Arabia and Rupert Murdocks Fox News business partner. This is turning into a vile group of people that lead the free world and one has to wonder who really was steering the pirate ship?
Just as in Iraq, oil rich Sunni seventh century bigoted Saudi barbaric and beastly rulers and their Sunni pals (Kuwait, UAE and others), oil companies, lobbyists and Jewish mad people (Netanyahos and co), bankers, Wall Street are repeating their seventh century desert dances through their cheap US puppets on Iran and Syria.
Earlier Tony Blair danced and now David Cameron is dancing.
We have sanctions on Iraqi oil and oil price hikes oil prices manipulations higher and higher by Saudis & co and oil companies.
Wait for the oil prices to shoot up to $200 a barrel this time.
Talk about ungrateful people and backstabbers: you have the Sunni Saudi beastly rulers and co!
jonathan is using this platform to see if he can put 2 coherant sentences together.
I did get his message and he is preety much right.
I wonder if Bush told him about 'Gog and Magog'?
If you don't understand that reference, it is worth a google. It's where Bush told Chirac that Iraq was fulfillment of the biblical prophecy of Gog and Magog, clearing the enemies of god in advance of the biblical millennium.
Chirac, as any normal person might, decided that Bush was not in complete control of his faculties.
As the prophet Dan Quayle said: "People that are really very weird can get into sensitive positions and have a tremendous impact on history." Amen, brother.
headhunter22: You have proved that you are not able to understand two coherant sentences together.
I write such that even low IQ people can get my posts into their heads. Hope you can understand where you stand.
And its the second time recently that security has been compromised in UK. Were they US trained? At least Murdoch got a pie out of the deal.
It's time to get Murdoch's wife back to bolster UK security. Keep her in London for Jubilee, Wimbledon and Olympics.
So the media just gave this guy's bogus message a free, world wide advertisment. No one should have reported it.
Now it gives the hateful, spiteful, vitriol spewing masses another forum to spew on. The media does the job they intended to do again. ironic that it all occurs during the Murdoch inquiry. How many people actually get that prior to spewing?
Barry Goldwater, where are you when when we need you?
You are no doubt spinning in your grave.
Who do you think opened the back door to let the nut in?
This is front page news at msnbc?
What is your agenda?
Agenda is to make Fox News look bad. Like they need any help.
And the award for best fiction goes to........
msnbc writes what they want...no truth and a little distorted...
WHY does this kind of crap even make headlines?
security breach, could be deadly in the future
Don't worry, WorkN. Go back to sleep...
Because the "whole truth" would cause a world wide revolution. lol
This kind of crap makes headlines because the media has to find something to print 24 hours a day now.
tina, you are correct. However, businesses exist only by giving the people what they want so if the public didn't want it, there would be no 24 hour news, sports, and weather channels. Don't complain about it, just don't read it. The very fact that you are here just shows that you had to satisfy your need to see what's going on.
Actually, Bush is the war criminal, having caused the deaths of over 5000 brave US soldiers and at least 100,000 Iraqi deaths with his preplanned war for Iraq's oil! It is good that Iraq told bush to stuff it with the oil, the 50+ bases, the control of Iraq's air space, immunity from Iraq's laws for soldiers and conractors. Iraq basically told him to get the hell out!
If no one can obtain an indictment, at least we can take some comfort in the fact that bush is basically restricted to US and its territories! At any other place, he risks being detained. That is a good thing!
No matter how much they dislike one another they always protect the offices. Bush Cheney and Blair and all the rest will never be convicted of anything. Until the people demand we fix that nothing will ever happen. They will find some tyrant like Saddam to make you think they are doing a clean up job but they will join ranks to prevent their own from being put to trial
Tom: nail on the head...!!
When you talk, does your head rattle?
I didn't know that we got tossed out when Bush was president. When did that happen?
i didnt know bush was a war crimminal? so what law did he violate?
Tom,Bush wasnt a king. Many people supported his dumb ass actions.most likely big companys who profit from war.Obama isnt much different, wars and spending.
If Bush & Co. were to be charged with war crimes in this country, they would be as dangerous to us
as Osama was-even republicans wouldn't be safe!
Disclaimer: This is a comments board- no links, verifiable facts required
This is News? Oh, come on. Waste of good type face. There are a lot of pot smoking idiots out there who will say anything about anybody. So, someone has an opinion. Big whoop. Didn't even read the story as the headline says it all--and by the way--this story was written 4 yeats ago then copied again several times. They just change the name of the person to fit the facts--but nothing else changes. So a few people think Tony Blair is a war criminal. Some people vote for Mickey Mouse too. Are we going to keep reporting that too?
See the damages these cheap Bushes, Blairs and some more have done!
Net results of Saudi, Kuwait, UAE, oil companies and their lobbyists directed 1991 and 2003 Iraqi wars are
WINNERS
1. Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE and other rich ME sharks became richer by manipulating oil prices too high.
2. Oil companies and their lobbyists also benefitted. Oil prices, which were hardly $30 a barrel before 1991, shot up to $140 a barrel.
3. Since 2003, future traders, rating agencies, Wall Street and oil companies and their lobbyists transferred five trillion dollars from oil importing countries to oil exporting nations.
4. Rich Sunni ME sharks (Saudi Arabia in particular) funded Salaffi and Wahhabi mosques and Islamic radicals and terrorists all over the world. These Sunni Islamic radicals and terrorists are rampaging all over the world. World’s 80 percent of problems are due to them.
LOSERS
1. General US and European nations’ public. There have been high unemployment, cut in welfare measures, housing market collapse and more miseries. Since 2001, US spent three trillion dollars on Iraq and Afghan wars. Did the Saudis and co foot the bill?
2. Poor soldiers killed and injured and their families. In Iraq and Afghan wars 6300 soldiers were killed and 40000 injured.
3. High budget deficits and heavier borrowing. Many nations (PIIGS) and people are on line to bankruptcy!
4. Iraq will plunge into bloody sectarian civil wars leading to the creation of Shiastan, Sunnistan and Kurdistan. Here the losses are of Iraqis.
Its a volunteer military,so many people arent that bright. Its all about money just like it is today.
ron17571: For some, it is a question of jobs and feeding family members.
One US soldier in Afghanistan beautifully narrated his dilemmas on fighting there on one of my posts.
That's because both him and Bush ARE war criminals.
They were officially tried (in absentia), found guilty and convicted of war crimes not even two weeks ago.
Why not have some nuts MSNBC and run THAT story?
http://theintelhub.com/2012/05/13/bush-found-guilty-of-war-crimes/
i bet that if i asked 100 republicans "how many people died as a result of that war?" not one would be close to the number.
Thank you Jam. Very interesting...
Thanks for the link. I had read that but not in much detail.
As long as they keep the citizens turning on each other, as many do in these discussions.......they win. It's called divide and conquer. And it seems many of us, both Republican and Democrat, are too foolish to see we are being played.
Wow, 4 yeats ago. How long is that in the USA?
I would explain it to you but your a liberal and it would be over your head.
Please Alan, tell me about yeats. I'm a liberal because I don't know what yeats are?
Does "your a liberal" actually mean "you're a liberal"?
Mug, u didn't need to mention ur a liberal. The narrow focus of ur post makes it obvious.
People dont want to think about the debt or how the usa is teetering on the edge, like all of europe.
bush, cheney, blair...all are war criminals ...all should be sent to the hague..they won't be because a helluva lot of people made a helluva lot of money from the invasion of iraq...
Obviously this intruder was one wave shy of a shipwreck.
Dear Mugtech, Fox does not need any help in looking bad. lmafo@u
They = Fox News.
I agree
Yeah only evil people watch fox news,or men who like looking at blonde sluts tell the news.
MSNBC is so slanted towards Obama its sickening.
better than watching that bull-dike maddow
Thank you Britain, for bringing Blair and Murdoch out in public under oath! These proceedings in Britain are a real eye-opener for us. Maybe now the truth will start to come out about what happened in our own government during the Bush/Cheney Administration, not only with how they managed to bring off the unnecessary, and pre-planned invasion of Iraq under our noses and with many of us swallowing their lies, but all of the backroom business corruption, cronyism, bribery, and secret agreements that have placed us on the brink of disaster.
The British Parliament seems to be our only hope for finding the truth, since the sleazy morons in this Congress are so busy covering up for Bush/Cheney and the corporate corruption crowd by holding hearings about gay marriage and "religious freedom."
It's particularly fitting for this to come out on Memorial Day, when we honor our veterans and the sacrifices they made, to find out whether our civilian leaders misled them and abused their trust.
"War criminal"? LOL! Over here, in the USA, we call obammy a lot worse than that (because he is a lot worse). I hear it every day, but it isn't mentioned on internet 'news sites'.
people like you who call Obama Marxist, socialist, communist and more, HAVE NO IDEA WHAT ANY OF THOSE WORDS MEAN LOL. I ask republicans all the time just to see that dumb blank stare. One group of your brothers was protesting Obama in my town, they had signs saying he was "socialist" "communist" and "fascist" So I asked them for a definition of "fascism" Their response was 'socialism' they had no idea, they did not know what communism was or socialism either. Too dumb to know the contradiction of fascism and socialism..kinda like being a tall midget lol but we understand your limitations lol
Obama has successfully passed legislation to make Health Care available to more Americans - thanks to the Affordable Care Act, 2.5 million young adults gained health insurance and 2.65 million seniors saved an average of $569 on prescriptions last year - and to protect our choices from Republicans who want to prevent Americans from having Health Care; he has created jobs despite Republican efforts to trash America's economy - since the last SOTU, the economy has created 1.9 million private sector jobs, in fact private sector job creation under Obama in 2011 was larger than seven out of the eight years Bush was president; he kept the banks from failing, Detroit automakers from going bankrupt, and Wall Street from crashing worse than it did, he has ended Federal discrimination against people because of their sexual preference, created a Bureau to protect consumers from business fraud despite opposition by Republicans, lowered taxes, improved America's image and leadership around the World, and slowed the rate at which Republican mismanagement of the economy under Bush is increasingly damaging our economy. And, in 2011, the United States killed Al Qaeda’s most effective propagandist, Anwar al-Awlaki; its operating chief, Atiyah Abd al-Rahman; and of course its founder, chief executive and spiritual leader, Osama bin Laden.
It takes Republicans, who are trying to flush the United States down the toilet with both hands, to make the claim that Obama is not among the very best Presidents EVER. They do that to steer attention away from the traitors and convicts they keep running for office. Maybe if Republicans would get off their lazy, greedy, thieving, welfare-subsidy sucking asses and work for a change, instead of robbing hard-working middle-class Americans for a living, things would get better faster. They really need to quit behaving like screaming children kicking the lifeguard in the nuts while he's busy rescuing them, and contribute to our survival, or they need to leave America.
As a european I laugh at these right wing morons that uses words they have no idea what they mean.
Some americans are truely stupid and they should refrain from posting on these boards especially when it comes to President Obama who is a great president, but again, they have no idea of what great means !
It's not for other countries to decide who is a great American President. It's for Americans to decide.
No, anyone anywhere can decide if a president is great. It's called an opinion. They can't vote. There's a difference. But poodlefan 007 has it right when she says some Americans are stupid.
There are stupid people all over the world. No single country has a corner on that market.
georgepauljoh:
You nailed it. Folks who throw those words around like to sound like a wit, but they generally are only half right.
Just like the word Nazi. Anyone who uses that word automatically loses credibility with me, unless they are a historian.
Poodlefan:
My son is an expatriate living in Germany and can back up everything you said.
I concur also.
But I have to agree with Dani that there are stupid people everywhere.
So because Obama is bad, that makes it ok to do what Bush/Cheney/Blair did? Great logic there.
And georgeoauljohn neither do you, know about Marxism/Socialism plus any other ISM on the books! Oblabber Mouth is a Socialist/Marxist Clown, and yeah,I know exactly what those words mean. You want the friggen definition? It'll take HOURS!
Where the HELL have you been? You don't see a slow methodical pattern here,by this clown, little by little by little Annihilating your civil rights, and trying to shove his AGENDA down your's everybody else's throat?Of course most likely, you're one of the ones who watches dancing with the stars, american idol, and has a cell phone and every and any other Technological devices growing out of theirs asses, that you and the rest of the herd don't even notice!
Oblabber Mouth LOVED MARXISM,his favorite book was the Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx. His best buddy was and still is William Ayers, the leader of one of the biggest Marxist Terrorist Groups of the early 70's,the Weathermen.By the way this SCUM killed a lot of people.Obama worked with this Scum Ayers, back in Chicago, in the early days of his law Career, getting their Scum Socialist/Marxist/Communist Agenda up and running, for the people of Chicago!I could go on, and on, and on, and on.But like I said it would take hours!
Now one or two things about your post.!. You're REALLY NAIVE,or 2. You're in DENIAL!
If anyone doesn't know the meaning of Marxism/Socialism/Communism IT'S YOU!
Obama is all that and more.WAKE UP!
So No people don'
Well poo, take away the jew killing and Obama is a lot like Hitler. He is evil.
geaorge pauljohn- or is it ringo? One of my degrees is in modern (20th century) European history, so I probably know more about the definitions of socialism and communism than you ever will, and obammy's plans fit the pattern. I didn't mention either one of those, but you are correct to bring them up in reference to the obammy regime. I am related to Jimmy Carter and for a long time, was embarrassed to admit that. Now that we have a far worse example occupying our White House, Carter looks much better.
weren't the nazi's really the NATIONAL SOCIALIST WORKERS PARTY? so be so kind for someone explain to me the difference between a socialist and a nazi?to me there is little difference to see the modern socialists and compare them to the 1930s nazi party
danangel, you claim to be an educated person, but then you refer to our President as "Obammy."
What is wrong with this picture?
I often wondered how Faux could tout that Reagan was the best president edver, now I know, they owed it to Reagan! Apparently, those folks weren't efeected negatively by Reaganomics. I know alot of horror stories and it was the first time I'd ever heard of homeless in the United States, other than railroad hoppers.
The funny part is that Reagan said "deficits are the enemy of America' and then Dick Cheney said at the 2004 debates, when Edwards complained about mounting debt. '"Reagan taught us that deficits don't matter" I wonder why the liberal media never mentioned that lol.
Mabe all the jobs and good times under Reagan made people look the other way,and not think about debt.
Of course Blair's a War Criminal, just like the traitor George W Bush, who can't leave the US anymore because of the warrants for his arrest in most other countries around the World. The heckler was partly wrong though - J.P. Morgan paid Blair BEFORE the War in Iraq started.
ROTFLMAO.. you really need to get out more. find a girl... go on a picnic, take a nice walk, get a hobby. Yo are really losing it Bro.
Ironic that he has become a prisoner of the US. Keep him in Texas with the rest of the criminals, Delay and the like.
Loosen the foil just a bit, friend. It seems to be cutting off the blood flow to your brain. If Bush and Blair are war criminals then so too is every British MP and US Congressman who voted funding for those actions. Likewise the UN representatives who voted for the resolutions authorizing intervention in Iraq. And let's not forget the other countries who joined the US and Great Britain in Iraq. Regardless of degree, their leaders are also war criminals by your logic just as the camp guards at the Nazi death camps were as culpable as the officials who ordered their atrocities. That, by extension makes all our soldiers, Marines, sailors, and airmen who participated out to be war criminals. Remember, "I was just following orders" is no defense.
Or did you not think of that in your haste to lash out in blind hatred of something you don't understand very well?
Yes they all are war criminals and must be brought to justice.
East of Eden, authorizing funding for the possibility of a war and voting for "resolutions" which authorize the use of force are NOT the same as actually ORDERING the use of force and invading another SOVEREIGN NATION.
And yes, any and all U.S. soldiers who knowingly and blatantly decided to follow any order to invade another SOVEREIGN NATION without Just cause -- KNOWING that there was no actual TRUTHFUL reason for such invasion -- should be tried as War Criminals.
YOU would demand the same from all other countries, and you know it.
Quacked One - I agree with your first statement. Bush and Cheney ordered the war. Perhaps they thought it would be a "cakewalk"
Zionist
warmongers like Ken Adelman and the Zionist Washington Post pushed the war in
an editorial titled, “Cakewalk in Iraq.” Jewish supremacists Richard Perle and
Paul Wolfowitz told you that Iraq would “Welcome us as liberators.” Iraq became
the longest war in American history. Here is a report from USA Today: “Pentagon
officials estimated for the first time Wednesday that up to 360,000 Iraq and
Afghanistan veterans may have suffered traumatic brain injuries.” Now that’s
not counting tens of thousands who have suffered maiming, amputations, or death
in this war based on lies.
The soldiers have to do what they are told. They must obey the president.
The Iraq war was illegal and contrary to everything America supposedly stood for in the past. Nowhere, is it legal to invade another country based on speculative intelligence about WMD. The WMD, which Iraq was alleged to possess and be manufacturing was nothing compared to the WMD, which America possesses. Of course Iraq's WMD was all a lie. They had none and were not manufacturing any. The Niger documents were forgeries. Who would forge documents to make it appear Iraq was building nukes? What might be their reason? The forged documents are proof positive, that ouside forces wanted to build a case for a war. Note: The primary suspects were neo conservatives in the Bush administration.
We have thousands of nuclear weapons, capable of destroying the world and the delivery systems to send them anywhere on earth. Iraq had next to nothing. Iran has next to nothing in comparison with America or with Israel, yet we (the media and the politicians, especially the right wingers) are touting Iran as some kind of threat.
Tell that to the Nazi judges and politicians who stood trial for their roles. As for "knowingly taking part" that was addressed by the rulings against those who tried the "only following orders" gambit.
RalphH,
Your argument is a few sandwiches shy of a picnic. The US had "next to nothing" in the way of nuclear capablity when we used what we had in Japan. We lost fewer soldiers in the Entire Iraqi war than Japan lost in a single moment. Would you prefer we wait until our enemies have the capability to strike us with such weapons to do something about the threat? If so, I do hope you volunteer to live at ground zero along with all those you hold dear. As for me and mine, we're perfectly fine with bleeding our enemies on their soil instead of ours. We're perfectly ok with preemptive strikes. Especially when the action is authorized by both the US Congress (as required by our law) and the UN (as required by international law). Just because you don't like how things work doesn't mean they're crimes.
P.s. I was one of the "war criminals" in uniform. I welcome the chance to stand trial in any fair, open venue. Let's put both ourselves at risk. You win, I go to jail. I win, you go to Afghanistan.
i prof u wrong!
MSn........ really a heckler is top news....It seems that you are rying to validate the heckler with your headline.
This heckler wasn't just a name-caller, though. He brought attention to the possibility that Blair had ties to JP Morgan as well as to Murdoch. Now that's an interesting piece of information.
http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/military/news/1227842
no conspiracy skeptics,,people hate the USA and the hero is making the tough decisions.
He actually had ties to the obamy administration!
MSN - NEWS????? Yeah, if you call feeding scraps of crap to people on daily basis that feed on crap.
If Blair actually had ties to the Obama administration, which did not exist at the time of the Iraqi invasion, why did Blair appear with Bush at so many press conferences? If I remember correctly, Bush and Blair appeared together quite frequently long before anyone heard of Barack Obama. Funny, that.
bush, cheney and blair are all criiminals and they should be in jail.
