Updated at 8:19 a.m. ET: Police in Paris are investigating claims that fugitive Canadian porn actor accused of killing and dismembering a Chinese student has been staying in the French capital.
Luka Rocco Magnotta is suspected of murdering the man in Montreal, making a video of the attack and sending the victim's dismembered body parts in the mail - including posting a foot to the headquarters of the country's Conservative Party.
Magnotta is wanted by authorities in Canada for first-degree murder and other charges. Interpol has put Magnotta on the equivalent of its most-wanted list, The Associated Press reported Sunday.
Police believe Magnotta, 29, fled to France on May 26. Police identified the victim as Chinese university student Jun Lin, 33.
An official in the Paris prosecutor's office, speaking on condition of anonymity because of office policy, told the AP police were looking into alleged sightings in Paris but had no additional details.
French newspaper Le Parisien reported on Sunday that the manager of a bar in the 17th arrondissement of Paris saw Magnotta in his bar on Wednesday night and that Magnotta spent two nights at a nearby hotel.
Luka Rocco Magnotta is wanted by police in connection with a murder in Montreal.
It also reported that police believe Magnotta committed two thefts from shops in the neighborhood. The Le Parisien report could not be confirmed by police on Sunday.
On Friday, police in France told NBC News that Magnotta could have taken a car and driven to another country.

Amazing! He can still rent a car, check in a hotel, go to bar/nightclub after being on interpol's most-wanted list and all over the news for almost a week!!!!!! The polices are really good at their jobs.

The link in the article to the French newspaper, Le Parisien, gives more details about what he did in Paris if you can read French. According to a bar owner there, he came in his bar and asked him in English for a Coca-Cola to go. The bar tender put a bottle on the bar, but told him he would have to drink it there. He said he was really thirsty and guzzled it down, and while he was drinking it, another man with an impressive physique, whom he appeared to know, came in and they talked for a little while and left together. The police are checking the Coke bottle he left behind for finger prints as well as the video tapes from the bar's security cameras. Magnotta is also suspected of committing two thefts in that area of Paris.

Yeah... it's kinda hard to be a "disgrace" in an industry that is pretty much entirely scum. Don't get me wrong, I've been known to enjoy the occasional nudie flick, but I wouldn't want the people involved in my house or even as acquaintances. It might be a huge industry, but there is nothing to respect or laud about it.
Why have all the media dropped the note that this guy is a GAY porn star? Criminal justice stats show clearly that 98% of sexual abuse victims are victimized by straight men, often married, and usually close to their family in some way. Yeah I don't think the "gay" aspect is an important aspect of the story at all. This guy would have killed his partner no matter what gender they were. You claim has no substance in reality. I really hope that the Canadian and French police aren't as incompetent as they seem as I'm reading about this story, which has really disturbed me and I haven't seen any of the videos online thank god. But apparently a man from Montana tried to alert the police to this video of the horrific murder and they shrugged it off. It wasn't until they found the body parts in the mail that they acted and Magnotta was already gone. Then they said they don't know how to look for him because he has so many aliases. Um hello? Trace is passport and airline ticket! Now the French say there have been multiple sightings of him in bars, they have surveillance video of him and yet still can't find him. It's also worth mentioning that he has a long criminal past and history of killing animals and posting the videos on the Internet, and he repeatedly posted online that he was going to kill and the police did nothing. How can this be?? I really hope this is all just getting misreported and the police know what they are doing. Unbelievable.

I am a Canadian, and find this whole story mystifying..how can this sick individual evade police in no less than 2 countries, he certainly does appear to making the "authorities" look incompetent..and I can tell you, the reports you are hearing are correct, he did in fact do all those horrific things you mentioned, and more, he essentially warned everyone time and time again, and left a note saying he would be killing again. The man from Montana who informed the police was in fact a lawyer, and they still did not follow up on that info..I am embarassed, but judging from the police force in my small canadian town, this does not suprise me!

I don't think the bartender who served him the Coke knew who he was at the time. It was only later when he was talking with the police that he recalled it.
