He may be involved with the dismembered body found in the Hollywood Hills of California in Jan 2012, so if more evidence is found regarding that.....he may be extradited again to the USA to serve justice for that murder....and California DOES have a death penalty. There is also a time frame that ties him to a dismembered corpse found in Tuscon, Arizona ....so there may yet be the option of capital punishment regarding Magnotta.

I could be wrong, but unfortunately I don't think Canada will extradite him unless we take the possibility of the death penalty away in a trial for this man.

@phauno33, knowsrightandwrong is correct if he is indeed involved in any US murders in order for Canada to agree to extradite those US Jurisdictions would have to agree not to seek the death penalty against him. It is unfortunate especially in the case but Canada as far I can remember as held firm on this in all cases.

Let Canada keep him, and pay for his upkeep. Not for us to worry.

Under Section 745 of the Criminal Code of Canada, offenders serving a life sentence for murder may be considered for parole after serving 15 years of their sentences.

Offenders serving life sentences for first-degree murder become eligible for unescorted temporary absences and day parole three years before their full parole eligibility date (normally 25 years). An offender may apply for escorted temporary absences after admission to a federal institution.

Canada unlike the USA believes they can reform prisoners even psycho depraved ones. It would be possible for a life sentence to be life if it becomes a psychiatric detainment but who knows how likely that is.

The guy who ate the homeless mans face had just finished sniffing bath salts...people will do anything to get high. In the matter of this sick f*ck, thats just wrong and sick and I am appalled. People are sick and this world is sick, it seems like the good people are getting less and less.

Actually, I would say that this incident was very disturbing and my opinion just as, if not completly worse than the Miami incident.

Of course what happened in Miami was horrific, but what this guy did was videotaped and I don't know if some of you have seen it or not but I watched it and it was absolutely terrifying.

It won't be too long before Magnotta ends up getting 'Dahmer'd' in prison. Someone will get to him.

I saw the short 11 minute video of it..not the longer one where they say he ate some.

Some said it was fake the video..but doubt that, or they were the greatest makeup artists and special effects persons in the world.

I can't argue with any of these replies. Let's just say that both people represent what [we hope] are the outer limits of human depravity. The Miami person is dead, and I have to say that is the probably the best end for him. This other clown will not face the death penalty, but seriously, if every anybody deserved some .357 justice, it is him.

It doesnt show him eating any part of the body. You do see him taking a knife to the man's buttock and then picking up a piece of flesh with a fork, but you don't see him eat it.

Also, the video is authentic and I too, did at first think it was fake. The video starts and shows the victim clearly alive but tied up. Magnatta cut his throat and killed him off camera before he came back and retarting the recording. By that time, the victim had already been beheaded and then the arms and legs. In the middle of all of that is the stabbing and slicing. You then see Magnotta having intercourse with only the torso.

One thing about the Miami incident was that the offender didn't actually consume any of the victim's flesh, he basically just chewed it off and spit it out. The victim in that case seems to be doing better and better everyday now.

Those sentences are for PC violators like white males that don't believe in global warming or gay marriage.

The solitary cells (actually, concrete boxes) at Pelican Bay, the worst prison here in California, are 8x10 square feet! Nearly half the size. And then there's the torture. And the damp, freezing conditions..

Canada's too nice for this guy.

Say what you want about foreign prisons and countries not having the death penalty. They also have far lower violent crime rates. Violent murderers get life in prison in Canada and at least the murder of a human being yields more time in prison than some of the laws we now have in the United States, non-violent and enacted solely for the sake of political grandstanding.
