Right-wing Swiss politician Alexander Müller is out of a party post as well as his private job after using Twitter to call for “Kristallnacht … this time for mosques.”
The Zurich man also faces a criminal investigation and police searched his home and confiscated his computer, according to media reports and his own blog.
The prosecutor’s office said Müller, 37, admitted tweeting in response to the May acquittal on hate-speech charges of a Muslim man who said it was "Sharia-compliant” for a man to beat his wife if she refused to have sex with him, the newspaper Tages Anzeiger (Daily News) and others said. Otherwise, Aziz Osmanoglu had said, the man might be unfaithful.
Müller tweeted from his @dailytalk account, “Maybe we need a new Kristallnacht … this time against the mosques.”
The tweet was erased, but newspapers, including 20 Minuten, recovered it and other posts.
Müller also had tweeted that “we should take this pack out of the country. I do not want to live with such people” and “I would like to stand certain people up against the wall and shoot them. Less dirt on the earth would be good.”
Müller’s tweets now are open only to confirmed followers, according to his Twitter profile page.
On Wednesday, Müller held a news conference in which he apologized and resigned from the Swiss People's Party executive committee for Zurich districts 7 and 8 and from his seat on the local school board.
Roger Liebi, the party's Zurich leader, said the comments were “unacceptable.”

Müller said in his blog that he was fired from his job at a credit insurance firm after his employers learned of his tweets through the media.
Abdel Azziz Qaasem Illi, spokesman for Islamic Central Switzerland, was quoted in Islamaphobia Today as saying that Müller's party is no friend to religious Muslims. In 2009, the party had supported a constitutional ban against the construction of minarets in Switzerland.
Islamaphobia Today reported that Illi said statements against Jews are avoided in Switzerland, but "it is more common to hear anti-Muslim hate speech.”
Dr. Herbert Winter, president of the Swiss Federation of Jewish Communities, called Muller’s Twitter statement “totally unacceptable,” the Jewish Telegraph Agency reported. He said it was “very offensive” to both the Jewish and Muslim communities because it “implies that Muslims deserve Kristallnacht treatment as the Jews deserved it in 1938.”
Kristallnacht, or “the night of broken glass,” took place Nov. 9-10, 1938, when mobs throughout Germany and parts of Austria killed nearly 100 Jews, ransacked and burned more than 1,000 synagogues, destroyed more than 7,000 Jewish-owned businesses, and vandalized Jewish cemeteries and schools, the Jewish Telegraph Agency news group explained. Some 30,000 Jews were arrested and sent to concentration camps, JTA said.

From the article: "Sharia-compliant” for a man to beat his wife if she refused to have sex with him"
Who in their right mind could follow Sharia law? These people are brainwashed with this cult.
Read the Bible. It's full of a lot of the same kind of kooky talk.
All religions are cults.
You're young, right? Or else perhaps only familiar with christian teachings of less than 2 or 3 decades ago right here in America.
Google 'rule of thumb' and read the origin of that phrase. Any infraction was fair reason for 'punishment', not just withholding sex. This was acceptible because it was deamed women were not as intelligent as men, (plus all those scriptures in the Bible about men being the head of the house, etc.) therefore needed corporal guidance.
It's been a heck of a job to debunk that sort of thinking right here in America. Globally, there's miles to go.
Perhaps you ought to go google sharia law and the US and read what is going on in this country right now.
Judges are actually using sharia law as a basis of judgements in US courts as we speak.
Recently in NJ a judge refused to grant a restraining order against a man who was raping his wife citing that under his Muslim belief system and sharia law, he was not acting criminally.
Also in PA, a Muslim man was accused of beating an atheist in a parade dressed as a parody of Mohammad. The judge refused to allow video tape evidence then stated that there was lack of evidence of the attack and dismissed the case. In his own statements, the Judge mentioned that in Muslim countries depicting Mohammad as the atheist did would be punishable by death, aka Sharia law.
You people need to wake up. What Muller said was unacceptable. Perhaps not worth losing his job over but in very poor taste. But let's be very clear, Islamists and Sharia Law are gaining ground around the world including right here in the US. And let's be perfectly clear what that means, one day you might wake up and find out that the Constitution and Bill of Rights are dead and you will be forced to live under Sharia which tells you how to live ever facet of your life or be punished including which way you face when you piss.
@ EarlyOut and easydoesit: I commented on the subject of the article... that is sharia law's idiocy as free speech and Muller's response as free speech. Christianity isn't included in this article. But since you both detour to the subject of ALL religion, here's my response.
If you consider 48 yrs of age young, then I am. As for the old & new testament teachings of the Bible, of course there is similiar crazy verses on various subjects. When those scribes wrote those "stories", man was considered superior to women. I could go on and on with examples such as Lot having incestial sex with his two daughters while being dead drunk, etc. Or Moses instructing their army to kill everything in their path except the young virgins. Abraham's faith was tested by building an altar and almost murdering is first born...yeah right. I could go on and on... but the point of the article was directed at a Muslim's code of ethics and another person's response to it. Not Christianity.
@Intel2,
from what I have been told, what you quoted there is not the "muslim code of ethics". It's one sect's interpretation. Certain muslim groups, especially the wahabists, have a dark interpretation of their book which is a direct offshoot of the old and new testaments. That vision scares a lot of the 1.5 billion muslims of the world, which itself is divided into many sects with differing views There is no question in my mind if you go to muslim countries you will find being practiced some of what that one man has espoused. But by the same token, there is a lot of the same type of stuff in the more backward parts of the Christian world. If you have ever traveled deep into South America or even our own backyard, Mexico, you know what I'm talking about, and you know it does not represent the totality of Christianity. In short, religion can legitimize some extremely backward practices, and in my estimations most religions are guilty of that to varying degrees.
It goes farther than that -- Sharia law states muslims don't have to pay interest--so the idiots are arguing that to not pay their mortgages. Why aren't the compliant Muslims who actually live what was taught by Allah speaking up? The only muslim voice out there are the goons who hide behind masks, move around like Chicago street-gangs and shoot children --they'd shoot more women but face it, there could be a chicken @!$%# Muslim man under that berka. What a crop of holes.
nikki, the only idiot is you.
your ignorance didn't allow you to understand that it is not that they don't have to pay, it is sinful for them to engage in transactions involving interest.I am sure your thick head still does not understand. Let those blinded by hate be damned. They are bigots and worse they don;t know it.
@John
I've seen you post this garbage a number of times but you've never cited legitimate sources for this crap. How about some, otherwise we might think that you just post nonsense.
Prove it, prove it, prove it. Just because you keep repeating it doesn't make it true. You people tend to do that.
1.6 billion Muslims follow Sharia law. 57 OIC countries follow Sharia LAW.
The right wing in the US will now start calling Swiss Miss Cocoa Freedom Miss Cocoa.
Jane, no they don't. Many Muslim countries may incorporate elements of Shariah law (not all of which is bad), but very few go all the way. And many such as Turkey are explicitly secular.
John, do you have any idea how hard it is to amend the Constitution, especially for anything remotely controversial?
We will fight theocracy in all its forms, but right now Christian theocrats are a bigger threat than Muslim ones.
Hey, you can find plenty of stuff just as horrible in the Bible. Look at these nuts who picket the funerals of KIA soldiers waving signs about God hating gay people (only in cruder terms).
Jock explain how christian theocrats are a worse threat than muslim ones? You are blind.
@WorldGoneCrazy,
They live here.
They know better.
They sell their souls/economic future, to corporations for money to enact abortion laws, deny same sex marriage, etc.
More?
Please ban "Sharia Law" and every other religions' law that matches it. Maybe all religious laws can be outlawed. That would be nice.
These relentless Idiots always bring up Christianity whenever Islam is criticized, as if that were some kind of refutation or excuse to condone Islamic barbarism.
The argument is that: "Well, whatever the Muslims do now is okay because some one thousand-ish years ago, the Christians were doing the same thing, so please don't criticize Islam."
I think that's a very condescending and intellectually bankrupt position to take, and if any attempt at stopping these Muslims from continuing to live like people did in the 15th century will ever be made, these Islamic apologists are doing their very best to stall it.
It wasn't so long ago I was attending a Baptist Church and the Pastor was telling women they should have their homes clean and children feed and ready for bed when the husband comes home from work. He preached how important it was for a woman to provide sex when a man wanted it. This was my father's church and that is the only reason I didn't walk out. I have not been back. We need to understand that Bible was written 2000 years ago by men that wanted total control of their lives and their lives over their family. Why is it so important that people treat others with such disrespect and then demand it in return?
Well Dennis, you have a PC and access to google perhaps you should look it up yourself. But if you must have a single source:
http://sweetness-light.com/archive/lets-ask-the-imam-muslim-bathroom-etiquette
Of course the full text of Sharia law in English that I used to read is gone from the net. There are only snippets here and there. There is quite a lot of BS in Sharia law that Sunnis don't want westerners to know about.
at's why we have the 2nd amendment..to stop tyrants from destroying our FREE from BS country.
Jock, it doesn't have to be amended, it just has to be ignored. We've been willingly giving up our freedoms and liberties for decades. All it would take is a significant event to put the military on our own streets and put us under martial law. The government already has a plan to do that if needed. And most would willingly let that happen under the guise of security.
France and other European countries are finding Islam to be a disease. It concentrates in small pockets to begin with, like cancer and spreads. Sharia Law is the glue that binds Islam together. It is not a religion, it is a code of law that governs every part of Islamic life. Some here say it isn't a danger because not every Muslim strictly adheres to it. If they are Muslim they do adhere to it; they have to. Moderate Muslims are belabored for not speaking out against what is being called a perversion of their religion. It is a literal reading to those following it, everything else is the perversion. The Muslim Brotherhood is the financial procurement and enforcement arm of Islam. I suspect many moderates are silent through fear of the Brotherhood. If you doubt their ability and desire to dominate look at the recent elections in Egypt. We are faced with a deeply seated problem and our government is ignoring it just as it stares off into space when illegal immigration is mentioned. The Democratic left seeks to make the United States into a vassal state of the UN. Obama makes deals with these people that we have no idea about, makes them in our name. We need to wake up while we have any nation left.
I don't get it, what did he say that was bad? The guy deserves a medal. Europe was never much for standing up for itself.
Actually, no, it's not OK. The reason it's brought up is because there are people on this board who are unable to understand that Islam is exactly the same as Christianity. It has its share of haters, terrorists, murderers and good people, exactly like there are Christian terrorists, haters, murderers and also good people.
Look above, you will see comments like "Islam is a disease." Another hater.
No, it's not OK, but it's not a good reason to declare war on a couple of billion people, most of whom would be just as horrified as we are by these acts.
Declaring war on them isn't going to actually help them progress, now, will it? Just because you don't understand a subtle argument doesn't mean that it's intellectually bankrupt.
Alex deserves a medal. We should start thinking along the same lines here in the US. Get rid of the rag heads before they bury us......
Byrong, you lose all credibility with stupid statements like that. Sounds more like wishing it were so on your part than anything based in fact(s). One could sanely argue that there are some similarities, but "exactly the same??" Fool's blather.
Byron------ Your comment is nonsense. The article above has nothing to do with any other religion but Islam. You have no defense of the Islamic view that women can be beaten by their husbands but you want so badly to defend Islam you change the subject to something else, like Christianity or other religions or the Crusades. It's really risible and transparent but a common tactic of those trying to defend the indefensible.
Hmmm... Some time ago I read where the goal of Islam is domination of the world. People will be offered the choice to convert to Islam or die.
If that is even remotely true, all non-Muslims must wake up and be on guard. I agree, the man needs to get a medal for stating his beliefs. Although, he might have worded things better.
I believe that too many countries are far too kind in welcoming religious diversity. In one way or another, all religions are CULTS. The Bible, edited by King James, only expresses his views. The scholars he appointed to translate the ancient languages stated in the preface, that they recognized it - amid florwer praise to the king - as the "king's own work."
Today, very few Christians realize that King James was either a homosexual or a very active bi-sexual. Many Bible researchers conclude that King James edited the Bible to protect his own beliefs and prerogatives.
Someone needs to step up to the plate and take action to protect all other religions against the goal of the Muslims. The Pope? The Dali Lama? Who will take this bull by the horns and throw it to the ground?
Religion - the number one cause of death in the history of mankind! Imagine the day that we outlaw religion worldwide - that would be something to witness!
Judges are actually using sharia law as a basis of judgements in US courts as we speak
BullS Site the case numbers you submitted as proof or shut up. No sitting judge in America would ever hand dow decisions as you state they are against the laws of the US and Sharia law does not take precedent here.
As far as this story We all know right wingers hate everyone except their own idea of what man should be which is the same as hitler.
When living in a foreign land local laws must be adhered to. Spousal abuse should be met with arrest and prosecution to the extent of local laws. When in public office hatred, apartheid, racism, calling for 'Kristallnacht', etc. should be met with immediate removal and prosecution to the extent of the law. Everybody has a right to life and the pursuit of happiness. Outdated modes of culture, laws, religious dogma, etc. should meet with evolution and revolution. Those unwilling to change will meet with extinction naturally. Darwin said so.
Funny how you mention that "these folks" (third person perception horror alert) are not supposed to pay interest?
Well, news flash for all you christians? : That is one of YOUR 10 COMMANDMENTS ... you know .... the GREED one .... though, it used to be referred to as USURY ..... Do you "christians" even know what USURY means?
Every generation re-writes the bible ... How did King James know god, again? Or, for that matter, Peter, Paul, Mary ... oops, I mean John, Luke, et al ??? But yet you allowed him to re-write "god's word??"
Gasp!
The real enemy here isn't religion, it is THIRD PERSON PERCEPTION. Go ahead .... look it up. (Hint: think bigot)
breadex
Unfortunately it's true.
Everyone needs to clearly understand that all three of these Abrahamic terminal religious belief systems were covertly designed and installed by outside offensive totalitarian ETs, for the ultimate purpose of crashing and exploding our emerging human world in a final programmed cataclysm of global warfare fueled with WMDs, known as the Christian Apocalypse or World War III. These outside offensive totalitarian ETs want to use their eminent domain rights of military intervention in our sector of the Milky Way galaxy to once again masquerade as Divinity toward mankind, this time as the returning Christ or Messiah. They want to take over our emerging human world on the heels of the programmed WWIII, and eventually take it completely away, while once more masquerading as Divinity toward mankind, this time as the returning Christ or Messiah. Their ultimate goal is to eventually steal and annex our extremely valuable celestial real estate, while also rendering mankind extinct on this planet at the same time. I personally know all of this because I lived at Wright Patterson Air Force base from 1951 to 1953, while my grandfather (Colonel Charles Faulkner Carter) was second in command there. He was personally involved in the background investigation into the Roswell Incident of 1947. These same ETs overflew Washington DC for several weeks in 1952, in order to demand the return of the Roswell crash remains. They chose the middle of the Korean War as the most opportune time to do this, since we had our hands full with the Soviets, the Red Chinese, and the North Koreans. Please understand that mankind potentially has countless millions (even billions) of years of growth, development and expansion so long as they don't fall for these ET designed and installed terminal religious (Abrahamic) belief systems. Our world has been under covert biocybernetic warfare attack for thousands of years already, primarily in the form of these "End Time" religious belief systems. Please listen before it is too late, mankind !!!!!!!!!!!!! - Rick Carter
(I am also former U.S. Special Forces, 6th Group (Psyops) and 5th Group, top "Go Team" Ft. Bragg, N.C., ETS from active duty 1972. Please know that I would not lie about any of this, especially to the entire world !!!!!!!!!!!!) - Rick Carter
(PS - Thanks for everything, Captain Hayworth! God bless you FOREVER! Go, A-Team 132! (Our A-Team won the first SF Winter Olympics. Trained in air, land, sea, mountains & snow.)) - RC
Islam is by nature fascist.
We need to create a universal standard for all religion in our world, by the means of a future international treaty. All religions in our world need to be required to fully respect modern day human rights, civil rights and internationally accepted mental health standards, if we are to finally bring these deadly covert ET designed and installed terminal religious belief systems (program religious viruses) under control. In lieu of that we stand to lose our precious celestial real estate to these outside (diabolical & conniving) offensive totalitarian ETs, who are covertly seeking to thwart mankind's successful emergence as a full fledged member of our greater galactic community, and who have already conspired for thousands of years to eventually steal and annex our extremely valuable celestial real estate. Please listen before it is too late, mankind !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Rick Carter
Christianity is also fascist too, but in a much more subtle and sophisticated way. All of these program "End Time" Abrahamic religions call for the future totalitarian takeover of our entire world by a supreme messianic dictator who is supposed to perpetually rule and reign over our entire world in a future totalitarian theocratic kingdom. This default New World Order spells total disaster for our emerging human world. Please understand (in no uncertain terms) that all three of these ET designed and installed terminal religious belief systems are actually ET designed critical components of a larger ET designed PWMD, or Program Weapon of Mass Destruction, which in turn is modeled (in part) after a thermonuclear device in a critical mass psychological way. Please understand that if this PWMD ever goes off in our world in an program "End Time" way, it will be outside offensive totalitarian ETs "coming in the clouds" militarily, this time under the surreptitious guise of the returning Christ or Messiah. These outside offensive totalitarian ETs hope to eventually use their eminent domain rights of military intervention in our sector of the Milky Way galaxy to eventually steal and annex our extremely valuable celestial real estate, while also effectively rendering mankind extinct in the process. Mankind potentially has countless millions (even billions) of years of growth, development and expansion ahead of them, so long as they don't fall for these ET designed and installed terminal religious (Abrahamic) belief systems. Please listen before it is too late, mankind !!!!!!!!!!! - Rick Carter
As you can see this crap/BS IS happening in the US
Sharia in New Jersey: Muslim husband rapes wife, judge sees no sexual assault because Islam forbids wives to refuse sex
Muhammad said: "If a husband calls his wife to his bed [i.e. to have sexual relation] and she refuses and causes him to sleep in anger, the angels will curse her till morning" (Bukhari 4.54.460).
He also said: "By him in Whose Hand lies my life, a woman can not carry out the right of her Lord, till she carries out the right of her husband. And if he asks her to surrender herself [to him for sexual intercourse] she should not refuse him even if she is on a camel's saddle" (Ibn Majah 1854).
And now a New Jersey judge sees no evidence that a Muslim committed sexual assault of his wife -- not because he didn't do it, but because he was acting on his Islamic beliefs: "This court does not feel that, under the circumstances, that this defendant had a criminal desire to or intent to sexually assault or to sexually contact the plaintiff when he did. The court believes that he was operating under his belief that it is, as the husband, his desire to have sex when and whether he wanted to, was something that was consistent with his practices and it was something that was not prohibited
It must be great to live in Europe. No Mexicans to drag it into the third world.
somebody doesn't seem to know what the 10 Commandments are. while the Old Testament does command against charging interest between fellow Jews (Ex 22:25), it did permit it to be charged for foreigners (Deut 23:19-20).
King James didn't "re-write" the Bible, or really have anything to do with the translation of the text of which he only authorized the translation.
"Recently in NJ a judge refused to grant a restraining order against a man who was raping his wife citing that under his Muslim belief system and sharia law, he was not acting criminally."
That is an interesting interpretation; however, to use this as a foundation for your premise that Sharia law is being used in our courts is not tenable. The crime that was charged, rape, was based on elements, as are all crimes under OUR system of law. One of the elements of that particular charge is criminal intent. I suggest you google it and learn what it consists of as a term of art, not a layperson's understanding.
If any element falls, the entire charge falls. The judge was explaining how the element failed because the accused, under OUR laws, lacked the requisite mens rea. The prosecutor should have filed a different yet similar charge if it was hoped to be successful. The Muslim beliefs did NOT determine the case here. But the accused's individual and personal beliefs, which happened to based on sharia, prevented him from having the requisite state of mind to fulfill the mens rea requirement of that particular charge under OUR laws.
You really should not interpret judicial holdings absent an understanding of legal analysis and the underlying applicable U.S./State law and then use your misapplied understanding to support an argument. Although, I have seen this repeatedly posted so I assume you read it somewhere and accepted it at face value, without research; wherein you would have discovered the erroneous reasoning.
the 3 largest religions in the world or the ones talked about the most is christianity , judism and islam and none of them are without sin NONE of them .
I feel any structured religion is wrong it is all about the power greed and control over other peoples lives . they all have murdered raped and tortured all have molested children . I think muslims are going for #1 as far as killing and torturing children . Also the bottom line for all religions is mans compleet control over women and allowing rape and abuse without punishment just cause they are married. Islam beng the worst as many of thier women are abuse even mutilated and some are not even allowed to go to school , because if they are educated they will see how wrong it is for them to be treated this way . I was taught men and women were equals that means women are just as good as a man .
I also worry about the numbers of muslims in our country and the rest of the world waiting for the time that they take over the world . It would proberly turn into WWIII. another war over religion.....so sad and shamefull that people in this time have to deal with such things . do these people really think that god, jesus, allah and so on really want this , unfortunately some do . As far as I am concerned that killing maiming and otherwise in any gods name is the worst sin of all and such a blasphamy .
I think all nonmuslims really need to watch our backs and keep thier laws out of AMERICA . we have our own justice system it may not be the best but is sure as hell is alot better then sharia or how ever is it spelled .
Most non-Muslims feel what the Swiss politician says!
Those who want Sharia Laws and pray five time a day in their hate preaching and killer training centers, mosques should go back to their Muslim nations.
We don't want the liabilities and curses in our societies and nation.
They are not happy either without their Sharia Laws.
Alameda88, you're suspended for a day for violating #1 of the Code of Honor.
Ray el Viejo, you're suspended for a month for violating #1 of the Code of Honor. Don't slur entire demographics.
Neither Aziz Osmanoglu nor Alexander Muller should be fired, convicted, nor investigated.
Alexander Muller should not have lost his job or party post, unless he was explicitly speaking for his employer or party.
Free speech is free speech. Muller's tweet was not a direct and specific threat, and so should be protected as free speech. (And you can certainly sympathize with his sentiment, given what he was responding to.)
the swiss aren't afforded the protection of free speech promised in our constitution. not all countries have to follow our laws
Yet the Swiss are supposed to be a "neutral" country quietly money laundering for the Drug Trade, Corporations, and the worlds wealthy elite. They could not handle a breaking glass night like in Gemany and would cry to the US for intervention after the first stone was thrown.
Typical American. Free Speech is your value, Dude. In Switzerland, they do what they do......
IXLR - not EVERY Swiss national has the fire of the right: just as not EVERY American is a Republican and for those who are, not all American Republicans are Tea Baggers. Obviously you believe every stupid stereotype you hear, not to mention you've mistaken their abilities to handle a crisis with France. And you must be a 'Typical Ignorant Inward-looking American', eh? At least you can try not to post YOUR stereotype.
Porter: I'm certain you're frightened by anyone wearing a a head-covering, but not all Muslims are "baddens" and not all of Islam is "evil": you need to get your extremists sorted. AND - Even in America -there are LIMITS on "free speech", in case you didn't know.
This kind of flame-throwing rhetoric should send up red flags anywhere it occurs, as it is suggesting that the least stable people (or most fearful hate mongers) in the state should seriously think about taking aggressive action. In the US: this is Synonumous with Glen Beck and that other worthless rightwing-fruitloop on the radio that incited three seperate incidences where people "acted in aggression against supposed threats".
All of this kind of rhetoric is POISON, concocted soley from FEAR and in many cases falsely and perpetuated ON PURPOSE by the espouser in the hopes that someone else will take the action, which they then hope will replicate with even MORE people. Those that spew this variety of POISON know exactly what they are trying to accomplish (through others) and are normally sane enough to not take the action themselves. In this way, they 'inspire' others to act out their fantasies so that they can claim that "they had no part" (ie NO RESPONSIBILITY) for anything that occurs, yet are inspired by their words. Sanity needs to start fighting back, or there will be no civilisation left to defend.
Alex, "not every swiss has the fire of right" , starts off making no sense, ends in babble. But I bet it was fun to write and you feel better, good for you! Read it in the morning and see how you compare.
Free speech does not mean you are immune from any actions caused by that speech. If you are my employee and i find you are doing something offensive that could damage my business as outined in the employee handbook, I may fire you. If you slander me, i may sue. If you say you are about to hit me, i can have you arrested for assult (assult is the threat of imminent, unwanted contact while battery is the actual contact). If you yell fire in a movie theater (cliche i know) and you knew that there was no fire, you may be held responsible for any resulting effect. You can't say you are going to kill the prez without a visit from the secret service
So go ahead and say whatever you want, just be aware of possible consequences
Kristallnacht was the start of the German genocide of 6 million people. For any person anywhere to call for that to happen again is a show of immorality beyond belief. He not only should lose his political post and job, but should face trial at the Hague for this.
Totalitarians have suppressed freedom of expression , the most fundamental human right , since the beginning of time. Voltaire was right ; think for yourself and let others enjoy the privilege of doing so too.
Free speech has its limits and you cannot yell fire or injure or preach injury or incite people to viiolence even in contries who have it Switzerland in particular because of the anti Jewish occourances has strict limitations for such hate speech.
Can't he just make up some crazy religion like Islam and claim it is his right to make such statements? I applaud this man for speaking his views but I do think he did take it abit to far. It is one thing to have such views and another to speak out loud or act out. I can see why this man may feel this way as his country is being overwhelmed by these Islamist as is NJ
breadex ----- any limit on speech should be as rare as hens teeth, such as the fire in a theater limit. You then say you cannot injure, but injury is not speech so it has nothing to do with the subject and limiting the " right " to injure is not limiting free speech.
As to preaching injury, that is protected by free speech and Muslims do it all the time. Even on these threads you see liberals preaching injury and death to Bush and Cheney on an almost daily basis.
What is inciting people to violence? If I say your views lack validity and you say that incites you to strike me, am I the one to be limited in my speech or you for your violence? The answer is you for your violence. Criticism of any system or view or behavior is protected free speech , in America , as it should be. Certainly in any country with lesser respect for the most fundamental human right , the right to think what you want and say what you think, this may not be so. That's one of the things that makes America exceptional.
Muller just said what a lot of people are thinking. The religion of peace, not!
Fair enough. But what does that say for the Christian world when it has waged the greater majority of wars for the last 250+ years, including the Napoleonic wars, the Prussian wars, the Spanish war, the 2 world wars, the cold war, the Korean war, the Vietnam war, 2 invasions of Iraq, the Balkan war, an invasion of Afghanistan, countless coups and invasions of tiny countries? On top of that, it possesses the greatest arsenal of destruction every assembled, which it gladly sells to the same Muslims to kill each other with?
The Muslims have been in a constant state of war for..........EVER.
Ron
It only takes a stone to kill and is more quick to cast
What are you? Some kind of expert on Islam? Fill us in.
So, assuming what you say is true, is it your position that an appropriate response is GENOCIDE?
To pk, I don't need to be an expert on Islam to know they are not the religion of peace.
To wants, no my position is not genocide, but I think Europe and America would be better off if the Muslims would pack up and move to the Middle East.
You mistake the religion for what the radicals preach. The basis of the religion is peace albeit peace for the individual man. Islam to me is just another way to enslave a part of their population namely women and to rally all men behind the religion. It was easy for the Taliban and Alqueda to name a couple to "adjust" that thinking to validate their interpretation of the laws. I do not belong to any organized religion as all of them are flawed. Once the idea moves to organization you must follow the leader and often they go down the wrong path with you following them.
This man should become president of the United States... Id vote for him...
Well, sure you would. Anybody with your verbal skills would.
The Republicans (Teaparty) are looking for a true Facist to run - this guy would be perfect!!
Rule of Nines, Quit making up lies about others beliefs. All the Tea Partiers want is less government. We want less bureaucracies, less government oversight of personal freedoms, less spending for foreign aid and we want the government to once again be accountable to the people. I am a Tea Party supporter and am definitely not a Republican. The Tea Party is made up of mostly independant thinkers who are tired of the devisive rhetoric spewed for by the two major parties and their mindless puppets like you. Look up the definition of facism and you will find that the Democratic party actually fits the description. Your avatar is the symbol of communism. We know what your thoughts are.
commonsenseaintcommon- while you have every right to call out troll-baiting ignorance like that posted by Rule of Nines, your comment ' Look up the definition of facism and you will find that the Democratic party actually fits the description.' is not only ignorant, but easy to prove exactly the opposite- comunism may be the far left, but fascism is the far RIGHT. worse, by showing that you don't even understand basic definitions of the topic you are trying to discus, you actually make yourself look worse than the troll. fascism is government by corporation, and mr romney's presidential run certainly seems like a huge shove in that direction. but, of course, i am not accusing mitt of being a fascist....for that he would actually have to believe in something.....
@silkchimp
Absolutely brilliant. I love how they call us fascists, Marxists, Communists, Socialists all while having zero idea what those belief systems espouse. All they do is advertise their ignorance of, well, darn near everything. The funny thing is, I don't think they would know a Fascist, Marxist, Communist or Socialist if they tripped over one. And yet, they're constantly calling us one or the other. Then they wonder why we mock them. Hard not to.
@commonsense, Bullsh_t!!
If the Republicans are in search of a 'true Facist' to make president then the Democrats have found their true Socialist. Neither choice is any where what the US needs but they are what the two party political system says we can have. It comes down to what the least of the two evils is. This election has nothing to do with what's good for the Nation. It is all about who hates who most and how many they can infect with that hate. The men who signed the Constitution would be so proud.
@Mike-1404114 and commonsenseaintcommon
AMEN!
The Tea Party is made up of mostly independant thinkers who are tired of the devisive rhetoric spewed for by the two major parties and their mindless puppets like you.
Sorry pal they bs'd you. The tea party is nothing of the sort. Maybe you have those feelings but you are so far from the true Tparty it is not funny. The Koch Bros own the Tparty which was started as an astroturf party to raise fund for two ex Republicans one of which is in jail. The milked it then tossed it aside and the Koch bro's invested in it and now it is a political scam for the far right. Callin the Democrats fascsists is proof you know nothing as the past Bush administration is a perfect example of that line. So if you really want to see the puppet go look in the mirror
Ok you clowns with the socialits spouts. Go look up socialism Marxism and commnism. Boy are you going to be surprised.
@commonsense, DOUBLE BULLSHYTE! Wherever the Tea party gains any power, the 1st thing they do is regulate woman's vaginas, deny any equal rights for gays, make having brown skin illegal, rewrite school books to fit their ideology, vote for an official state firearm, kick public employees to the curb, & slash education funding because ignorant breeds more teabaggers. Their goal is to turn the US into a marxist theocracy. Shall I go on?
Say whatever you will, but the Tea party's actions speak much louder than their words.
Marxist Theocracy is an oxymoron! It might, however , be humorous to see where your logic(?) might lead you !
Gee, maybe the Swiss could volunteer to hold on to the Muslims' cash, gold, jewels, and artwork for them. And then mysteriously lose track of ownership. They're good at that.
May God be pleased with the Jewish leadership who recognizes such hate speech is bad for everyone. I think this is a great example of two great religious communities standing against hate and stupidity.
I do not think that threats should be made against any place of worship. Beating a woman for sex, however, is far more heinous whether spouse or not. Did the muslim person who made that statement lose his job?
robert haile ----- Muhammad said a man could beat a disobedient wife. He is the gold standard for Muslims and the Koran is the inerrant world of Allah so they have to take that position. Try reading the Koran and Sira of Muhammad then you will see why they do what they do around the world today.
I can understand the free speech arguments. However, those who have had to live through German-dominated Nazi Europe might be somewhat sensitive to his reference (at its greatest extent it covered all of mainland Eurpope except Spain & Switzerland, including all of "Eastern Europe," and most of North Africa). Here is a pretty good basic breakdown to remind folks that Kristallnacht was just the first scene of the first act of the Nazi-led Holocaust:
And these are only "executions" and does not include all the civilian deaths in England, France and the Low Countries from bombings, the "partisan" executions, and the enormous loss of British, American, French and other allied troops to end this black mark on modern history.
I don't think that trivializing the suffering of Jews in WWII is the issue. We keep bending over backward in western democracies to allow "free speech" that is destructive to our own stated ideals of equality toward the sexes. It needs to stop or our daughters and granddaughters face a very uncertain future.
It's Switzerland, not the United States. Presumably, their interpretation of free speech differs from ours. Anyway, nobody arrested the guy -- he had to resign a party post. If you think that has never happened here, you live in an underwater cave.
Look at it this way: Mitt Romney "had" to fire a foreign policy because the guy is gay. What do you think would happen to a Republican staffer who publicly agreed with the SCOTUS decision about Obamacare?
Well done, Bill. The Holocaust, kicked off on Kristallnacht, was the worst thing that has ever happened. If more people studied it and were aware of it, we might have a sort of barrier to future human-made disasters. One Jewish child, one Arab child.....They are still humans...They deserve to live. All of them, just as much as my children. Casually tossing around threats against the Islamic world only inches us closer to a new Holocaust.
Obviously, some of the idiots posting here have no idea what "Kristallnacht" was; or, having an idea don't care it was the start of an horrific genocide!
Mary - I respectfully disagree - the Holocaust was not the worst thing that ever happened (between humans). Try reading all 5 books of A.I. Solzheitsyn's Gulag Archipelago. Joseph Stalin murdered more than twice as many as the Nazis...of his own people!
What do you think would happen to a Republican staffer who publicly agreed with the SCOTUS decision about Obamacare?
You mean like this?
Mitt Romney has lied about supporting an individual mandate in health care reform say two cable news talking heads, and he will have to face the music.
Mitt Romney and the individual mandate in the health care reform law are "kissing cousins", according to MNBC's Joe Scarborough and Lawrence O'Donnell.
When Tea Party activists and right-wing Republicans focused their distaste for the Affordable Care Act or as conservatives derisively call it, "Obamacare" on the individual mandate provision, fingers pointed to Mitt Romney for including such a provision in the state law he championed and signed when he was governor of Massachusetts.
The Romney strategy for the GOP presidential primary season has been to say that while it might have suited the citizens of his state, at that time, it isn't necessarily a good thing to require it for the other 49 and he opposes it on a federal level.
Unfortunately, another op-ed piece in the USA Today has come back to bite him. During the bitter debates on the legislation as it moved through Congress, Romney wrote:
"There’s a better way. And the lessons we learned in Massachusetts could help Washington find it. Our experience also demonstrates that getting every citizen insured doesn’t have to break the bank. First, we established incentives for those who were uninsured to buy insurance. Using tax penalties, as we did, or tax credits, as others have proposed, encourages “free riders” to take responsibility for themselves rather than pass their medical costs on to others."
In other words, the individual mandate.
Guess its ok to beat your wife. as long as your a Muslim. just dont say anything about it.
Nobody said it was OK. It was a free speech issue.
It's not a free speech issue. The guy wasn't arrested -- he had to resign from a party post. And it's just possible that the Swiss view free speech through a different prism than we do.
Yes the man did say it was OK to beat your wife and in fact it was a pious thing to do.
Your endless criticism of western culture and christianity shows how self hating your mind is. No where are those "dangerous christian values" practiced in any way that you say they are. All over the muslim world sharia practices are going on and they very anti human rights.
WorldwentCrazy, all over the Christian World, Sharia Law is being enforce where it coincides with Christianity.
Ban them both.
This man should receive a parade! How does the world tolerate these knuckle-dragging primitives? Send them all back home, and let them do their own thing in their various third-world dirt-holes. The problem with Islam is there is no division between "church and state": when we transgress society's rules, it's a crime, when a Muslim (woman, because let's face it: their men have carte blanche to do whatever they please; sweet, eh?) violates a rule, it's a sin. It's a culture jealous of the West, and their men are spoiled, arrogant children. The real problem is, they're forcing themselves elsewhere. Time for countries to stop bowing and scraping to accommodate these people: don't like it? Get the f*ck out.
Coming soon to a U.S. city near you thanks to the Tea Party.
The arrival of shariah dominated courts will be facilitated by your liberal/marxist scum.
Well Brent, I guess we can count on you and all your little brown shirt, goose stepping friends pointing that out to us. That will never happen in this country. Just because you and your ilk say so doesn't mean that it is. So just goose step on outta here.
Grow up Brent.
In other words, libtard toleration go wild.
Kristallnacht comment: offensive to both the Jewish and Muslim communities--could we enlarge that to "offensive to the human race"?
The us is not now nor will it ever be dominated by religion. The basis of our society is secular. We tolerate all religious worship but secular law rules. Unless the government is bought by a religion that will remain the same. If it is bought look for the citizens to rise up against it. Funny how some of the right wing idiots on here swear it is a "liberal" plot in one breath and calling liberal athiests in the next...
who are the "confirmed followers"?
Just deport those fools to Arabia.
Sounds like he had a good idea to me.
Are death camps next?
Don't listen to Jock, he is a self hating westerner. He cannot see the bad in any culture but his own, which makes him a fool.
No Jock, after Krystallnacht comes assisnation of the brown shirts, you know, the people who performed Krystallnacht for der Furher. These guys have no ethics or morals.
Before it is all over the Western World is going to get tired of the Muslim's wanting to change everyone to the idea of thinking and eventually the pooh pooh is going to hit the fan. Muslims will all have to go back to the middle east where they can do what they want because if the persist in the west thenm then they will be run out of all the countries and it does not matter if they are birth citizens or not. A lot of people will not say it but most of the people in the west are tired of Muslims and their thinking and hopefully we will not go to war because if we do there will not be anuymore Muslims left in the world.
We are also pretty tired of Christiam theocrats too. What should we do with them?
Jock you are not intelligent. Your only argument seems to be "well the christians did this 300 years ago". That is the liberal argument. You are not looking at the damage that the islamic culture is doing, you blindly defend it while critcizing the culture that brought you into this world and ALLOWS you to be able to think the way you do, albeit flawed. You are the danger to the west, as much as the muslims because you welcome them into our nation.
"You are not looking at the damage that the islamic culture is doing, you blindly defend it while critcizing the culture that brought you into this world and ALLOWS you to be able to think the way you do, albeit flawed. You are the danger to the west, as much as the muslims because you welcome them into our nation."
The US allows for free speech, yes. Jock is pointing out that Christianity is just as flawed as any other religion which is not wrong. As for welcoming Muslims into the US, um, they've been here for years. There were reports of black Muslim slaves back in the 1700s and 1800s and we did business with Muslim countries as evidenced by the treaty of tripoli of 1797.
I, like jock, dislike any religion that tries to use its beliefs to control a government whether that is in the US or anywhere else. But, I especially am offended that the world hates on Muslims when Christians are just as terrible. Sometimes when we are busy hating others that are different from us, we aren't looking in our own backyard. As someone who worked in domestic violence, I have seen the evidence first hand of Christian men arguing that the Bible gave them the right to beat their wives. It wasn't even until the 1970s that we had real, enforcable domestic violence laws in the US. Also, it wasn't until the 1990s that states began to recognize spousal rape as a crime.
We need to start fixing our own society first before criticizing others. Everyone is entitled to his or her beliefs. But, just like not every Christian is bad, not every Muslim is bad either. Seriously, it should be obvious but people are just oblivious to what blind hatred of a single group does to society and the world. It's not wrong for Jock and I to point that out- even if you disagree.
Jock, keep making sense, those attacking you don't seem to make any.
I don not see a lot of difference between the Muslim's, and the Mexicans coming here and polluting the culture. I firmly believe that there will be an altercation. I just don't know if the Muslims or the Mexicans are going to be the start of it. We are very rapidly approaching a point of no return. We are almost past any hope of keeping our culture.
Erin ----- What does Christianity have to do with the article that is the basis of this thread? It is about the Islamic rule that men can beat disobedient wives and a comment by a Swiss politician regarding an attack made by Nazis on Jews prior to WW2. Why are you incapable of remaining focused on these issues? Why don't you tell us how savage the Visigoths and Huns were? That would be about as relevant and make as much sense as your other comments.
As to your comment that we "did business" with Muslim countries as evidenced by the Treaty of Tripoli of 1796, I would hardly call it doing business. United States shipping was being attacked by Muslims thugs from North Africa. They were stealing our ships and taking our seamen as hostages and slaves. We were paying ransom to get them back. In the Treaty , we agreed to pay tribute to them so they would stop these depredations. Does that sound like doing business to you?
By 1800 , 20% of our national budget was going to pay these pirates not to steal our ships and enslave our men. When Jefferson became president , in 1801 , he took steps to end this Muslim blackmail and declared war on the thugs. We defeated them in that war and put a stop to their piracy. This was our first war against Muslim terrorists, called The First Barbary War.
By the way , as a bit of history for your edification, long before the war, in 1785 , Jefferson and John Adams went to London to negotiate with the Muslims and determine why they were attacking American ships and enslaving our sailors. The Muslim Ambassador told them as follows :
" It was written in their Koran , that all nations which had not acknowledged the Phrophet were sinners ,whom it was the right and duty of the faithful to plunder and enslave...."
Jefferson passed on this conversation to John Jay who reported it to Congress. So you can see , you were laboring under a misconception when you concluded we were " doing business " with the Muslims.
Lastly , you say you dislike any religion that tries to use its beliefs to control a government ? Under Islam, it is the government. There is no distinction. In every country with a Muslim majority the government is controled by Islam ; it is a political ideology that controls every aspect of society. This is unlike any other religion in the world today.
People like erin have no concept of what it is like to be anything else but muslim in a muslim nation. You are treated like the jews in germany. You are under constant pressure to convert and under constant threat of attack. Christianity and islam ARE different. Your liberal ideologies have clouded your judgement. Women have few rights in islamic nations. When you compare the lack of basic human rights to women in these nations to the fact that some christians are anti-abortion or anti-gay you are missing the point. DO you see bombings and kidnappings daily because they dont like gays or abortion? Do you see group after group of violent extremists. For once actually do your research on muslims and stop talking about christians from the 1500's. Christianity EVOLVED. In fact the western world really isn't that religious. You seem unable to see the faults in islam. You are like someone who defends nazism saying, well they weren't all that bad, even christians killed the jews in the 1500's. That is the same logic as your argument.
17 deleted, yoomama calling for deportation of 'Diaperheads'. Banned, miserable recent history full of #1 and #5 violations.
The sharia law idea is gaining a foothold in the US judicial system. Don't be surprised if one day soon it is staring you in the face.
We still have a Constitition, and a whole lot of people willing to defend it.
Engbers, I'd like some proof of that. Knowing full well that you don't have any.
h engbers, grow up.
bobber and IMHO
Why do my links keep disappearing????
I am horrified by this madman's statements. However, I am even more horrified at Muslims who leave their countries and 7th century culture and try to inflict their sick morés on civilized people.
Anyone advicating theocracy should and will be fought with every ounce of our strength; but within the rule of law, not through violence or bigotry.
Jock I dont see you defending western anything.
Rule of Law is a joke if nobody honors that law. Why do European folks have to be such pussies about things? Spengler was right. Only white people talk of peace and stick their thumbs up their asses while the drugs of this world talk of war and violence. Muslims are on the march, and with demographics on their side, they will rule Europe in the next 50-100 years. Whites are supposed to be on a constant guilt trip over conquering the world basically since they have a better grip on technology and science, along with how to conduct warfare on a large scale. Europeans need to drop Christianity and go back to the Old Norse ass kicking old time religions of their ancestors. I am descended from Vikings. My god they must think we are total pussies looking down from us from Valhalla, if their is indeed some sort of heaven out there. Shoot Paris would be torn down and the Louvre burned down to the ground if Arabs ever took over France. Our culture and our heritage are worth saving, and if our backs are up against the wall, even killing for. People here knock monotheistic religion and that is all fine and dandy, but that is the basis of our sense of morality. Take out the monotheism and anything goes. Round up all of these Muslims and ship them back to the ME or do the unthinkable. These people want a Muslim theocracy in Europe, and they look like they will get it eventually. Too many Europeans are guilt ridden pussies to do anything about it. Our European forefathers who conquered large sections of the world with rather small standing armies must be shaking their heads in shame out in the great unknown or spinning in their graves.
War was the lifeblood of the Norse, Slavic, and of course Germanic races. These consitute virtually all of the European or White Race. Christianity is a foreign religion that was forced on these races by Rome. It is the biggest act of cowardice in human history when a race decides to commit suicidal genocide out of guilt just because they climbed to the top of the heap as it were.
Keep defending multi-culturalism, a Western ideal, at least for America. Jock, they don't get it, they won't get it, and they wouldn't get it if it bit them on the butt.
IMHO
Do you ever have anything substantive to add to any discussion ? All I've seen from you so far are tired old Alinsky rants!
One would think, with all your self assured omniscients you would jump at the chance to educate those of us you proclaim to be so ignorant ! Enlighten us OH WISE ONE !
Muslims have already ruined France...I don't blame the guy ...maybe his choice of words were wrong but he does see the writing on the walls.
Only the most wacked out individuals can see any justification for beating your wife. If there is a law in your country against it then any religious affiliation can not overide it. People are being too ploitically correct these days and not abiding by what is clearly wrong.
There is no doubt in my mind that we would do it all again; genocide, internment camps, pogroms. These are not just things if the past, even in the Untied States.
Why is your spelling so poor jock?
Jock, I think WorldGoneCrazy has it out for you. :) I would hope that we have learned from our mistakes. The motto of WWII was "Never Again." I saw this inscribed outside of Dachau when I visited there several years ago and I remember how moved I was to think that maybe, possibly, we, the whole world that was engaged in war, will not repeat our actions against each other. So, I can only hope that we will not forget that motto.
We have learned from our mistakes, but now we are better at hiding our indescretions. Torture being defended by our president (Bush on waterboarding), and extralegal incarceration on foriegn soil (Guantanamo) to name two. Now we have the American Facists who want Krystallnacht here in the USA. They haven't learned to keep it under that rock they crawled out from under.
There will never be world peace due to all of the ignoramuses that walk among us. No religious group, political party, country or race is free of them.
Maybe this politician knows the truth , take his warning as a prelude of what is to come.
The only thing it is a prelude for is bigotry and ethnic violence, if not worse.
Unless Europe acts, it will be over run with islam and its madness.
So what do you think native Europeans are supposed to do just sit around and die out and let their heritage be extinguished by Muslims and the multicultural leftists? This guy was too nice!
This politician and truth are perfect strangers.
Muller I would like to say thank you. These people are the scum of the Earth. They want to change American laws for their benifit. If we slip into the grasp of sharia law this coutry will be screwed. I will not live in a coutry where it is ok to beat your wife. These people are from the religion of "peace" but for them peace will only happen with the annihilation of Christainity.
Maybe you should learn to spell first. Obviously this topic is too intelligent for you.
Who are "these people"? There are over a billion Muslims in the world.
Name one Muslim who has tried to change American laws for his or her benefit. I'll finish reading The Complete Speeches of Fidel Castro before you come up with an answer.
"These people" are the ones in all of these muslim nations who are chaotic, violent and intolerant.
Believe nothing on the faith of traditions, even though they have been held in honor for many generations and in diverse places.
Do not believe a thing because many people speak of it. Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past.
Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you.
Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.
Buddha
Pkgoode,
Read up on the "Holyland trial" you'll find your answer PDQ.
Ixor, so I read up on the "Holyland trial"
Totally irrelavent. You make no point with that reference. I see your logical skill and ability is zero.
There's no one like that here?
IM HO,
You asked for an example of Muslim trying to change our laws. I provided you with a suggestion to research an trial that prosecuted people illegally diverting money to terrorists. During the course of the investigation documents were uncovered that revealed that org's objectives & strategies for destroying our country including to use and subvert our laws as a means to achieve those goals. Also CAIR is now known as an unindited co-conspirator in that fiasco & protected by our State dept. You claim to read up on that topic. Either you can't read or have learned nothing as a result of being in procession of a weak intellect, or are you lying.
You accuse me of not possessing power of logic. Please illuminate me point for point if you have any guts..or powers of logic. So far all you appear to do is take one or two line trollish potshots at people.
The Holyland Investigation and Trial opened a can of worms:
http://shariahthethreat.org/2011/04/a-short-course-on-shariah-and-the-muslim-brotherhood/
Muslims need to be annihilated. This will do away with there 8th ecentury stupidity
Then what will we do about our 1st century stupidity?
lol
Annihilation of an entire people is 1st & 7th Century Stupidity. These folks (1.8 billion) need to be healed away from that 7th Century Judeo-christian hijacking, mass murderous monster, misogynist, false prophet...
A call to terrorize people based on their appearance being different that us, yes, I would call that facist and stupid.
Once there was a call in the Middle East to terrorize Americans. Someone pointed out that Americans could look like anyone in the world. So if you want to see what an American looks like, look in the mirror, look in the newspaper, look on TV, but look at everyone.
Then call me a fascist, but being a fascist is not necessarily stupid. Islam needs to be contained now. It is not truly fascism though because all other religions are welcome. They gotta go.
