Alleged 'buxom bandit' denied bail, charged with armed robbery

A security camera catches a thief as she robs a gas station -- all while keeping a smile on her face. Msnbc.com's Richard Lui reports.

A 22-year-old woman dubbed the "buxom bandit" has turned herself in to Australian police, days after she was seen on surveillance video trying to rob a gas station, NEWS.com.au reported.

Tonee Walker gained international attention after a video showing her holding up the business while wearing a revealing low-cut top went viral.

Walker made off with a small amount of money.

According to court documents, getaway driver Alexander Joshua Spinks, 22, told police he had adjusted Walker's top to expose her breasts before she held up the station in Arundel, southeast of Brisbane, on July 2 armed with a knife, NEWS.com.au reported. Walker said she wanted to give the middle-aged male attendant "something to look at," according to the report.

The surveillance video of Walker's robbery attempt even inspired a Taiwanese animation that shows her going into the gas station on a kangaroo and stuffing cash into her cleavage.

After turning herself in on Friday, Walker was charged with robbery and theft, and appeared in court Saturday.

According to NEWS.com.au, police opposed granting bail, saying the woman was already on probation for drug offenses.

Walker was denied bail and remains in custody until her next court appearance on Aug. 20.

That sounded like a good way to get away with the crime, no guy clerk would remember what her face looked like.

They say she was armed with a knife? Looks to me like she was packing a couple of 44s as well!

Lets trade her for some of our criminals.......I would rather face a nice set of boobs and a pocket knife than the nasty dudes we have here in the USA as criminals.

Almost as dumb as robbing a bank with identifying tattoos all over yourself. It's pretty easy to pick her out of a lineup.

A robber is a robber is a robber. Treat her just the same as any robber. "Equal Justice Under Law" means just that.

I am certain she could have made more money showing her boobs than she made on the robbery
