Subscribe to RSSThree of the seven men arrested last week in the UK were charged with terrorism offenses, a statement by the West Midlands Police said. West Midlands is more than two hours from London.
Police arrested the seven men over three days after impounding a car they believed was uninsured, the BBC reported. In the car were firearms and other weapons.
Those charged were Jewel Uddin, 26, Omar Mohammed Khan, 27, and Mohammed Hasseen, 23. The three men were expected to appear in London’s Westminster Magistrates Court on Tuesday. Prosecutors say the suspects bought cars and intended to commit acts of terrorism. They also allege that the men had manufactured an improvised explosive device.
The four other men remain in custody, according to the West Midlands news release. Police normally have 48 hours to detain suspects but were given extensions in these cases. Prosecutors now have until Wednesday evening to charge three of the remaining men, although they could also apply for a warrant of further detention. They have until Thursday evening to charge the fourth man.
The BBC reported that the arrests were not connected to the 2012 London Games. Nor were they connected to arrests of six other terror suspects – five men and one woman – on Thursday in London.

Nice attempt at misleading headline for PC. UK men? How about islamic terrorists? Or at least islamic terrorists in UK.
They are not convicted of any offence, merely charged. Under UK law, calling them terrorists would prejudice their trial.

Definitely not Brits but Arabs (I guess Allah wasn't there to help them). Why do counteries allow these people into their own countries?
They are allowed in because of our Empirical past, they congregate in certain areas and then drive the locals out. The majority do not assimilate and then want to bring there culture, religion and laws and impose them on the true Brits. You are starting to see the same here in the good ole USA.
Why doesn't England round up all these people and send them bacK? The old England never would have put up with this!
British should not have admitted uneducated and undesirables in the first place.
They should have taken preventive measures long time back and not just in time for Olympics games.
Now Olympic games will be held under massive security and suspicions! Has any games been held under missile covers till now?
Looking at the headline, I had the distinct feeling that their names would not turn out to be Bill Smith, John Jones and Peter Anderson.
That would be John Smith, not William (Bill) Smith.

That would be the safe assumption as I was deleted. The truth is that I was deleted without insulting anyone, and without suggesting genocide.
I did suggest hope that if they were all sent to their homeland that they would all kill each other until there were none left because of a suicide bomb.
I did not realize that simply hoping that the most murderous group of people turn their weapons upon each other instead of us would warrant deletion.
This just goes to show how biased the news is, and how only a few bleeding hearts that want to give these murderers a chance to do to our countries what they have done to their own can be our complete downfall into Islams fascist ways.
So the very thing that these bleeding hearts are fighting for may disappear within 75 years and leave our children in a living hell on Earth.
I'd rather round them all up, send them home, and give them all AK-47's and 1,000 rounds each to do as they will with.
All the names sound like somewhere in central Scotland. Lucky they weren't Muslims.
They were on their way to attack the peaceful English Defence Leagues march in Dewsbury. Given the nature of the English Defence League if they are attacked it's pretty unknown what their response may be.

Political correctness is a cancer that will destroy everything good that made us a great country. We need conservative values and should not be affraid to tell the world who and what the problem is. One day not too far in the future many will wonder how we were so stupid not to see that the hole we dug was our own.
There must be way more to this than what meets the eye. I'm thinking that the wealthy, who travel privately, with security, say things like; Whats a few hundred nationals, compared to the world economy? Well, if it was them, or their children being blown to peaces, there would be some answers, 'toot sweet'! Like profiling often, and hard!
Muslims are becoming the cancer of the human race. The crime of terrorist is the lowest of the low as it doesn't care who the victims are. They could be innocent children for all the terrorist care they just want to destroy our way of life. Remove them and send them back to their own country. Why are they migrating all over the world anyway? Their way of life conflicts with Western Civilization in every way. Send they back!
Give them a fair trial. But if they're convicted, spray them with bacon grease and shoot them in the head on national TV. All you have to do is take away their "stairway to heaven" for committing heinous acts...
Having a British passport doesn't make you British,it lets you be a citizen.We don't have to watch what we say in front of real British people.We don't worry about them feeling unloved by the masses.I don't expect Muslims and others to fit in,multi cultural living is a failure.It is much more trouble trying to force regular Brits to accept all these other peoples who beg to live here but want to bring their pathetic traditions with them.Guess I am racist, so what ,but I'm all for Muslims doing their own thing in their own countries...Not trying to destroy cultures of others
