Bulgaria official: Suspected suicide bomber carried fake Michigan license

Burgas airport security cameras caught the alleged terrorist wandering around a terminal minutes before he boarded a bus filled with tourists and allegedly blew himself up. Police are now trying to identify who he was with the help of DNA analysis. NBC's Martin Fletcher reports.

Updated at 1:37 p.m. ET: SOFIA, Bulgaria -- A bombing that killed at least seven people and injured dozens on a bus full of Israeli tourists was most likely a suicide attack, Bulgarian officials said Thursday. The suspected attacker was carrying a fake Michigan driver's license, they added.

Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov said the suspect appeared on security camera tape near the bus for nearly an hour before the attack that gutted the airport in Burgas, a popular gateway for tourists visiting the Black Sea coast

"We have established there was a person who was a suicide bomber in this attack (on Wednesday)," Tsvetanov told reporters. "This person had a fake driving license from the United States, from the state of Michigan. He looked like anyone else -- a normal person with Bermuda shorts and a backpack."

Bulgarian media reported Thursday that former Guantanamo Bay detainee Mehdi Ghezali was believed to be the suicide bomber. However, U.S. intelligence officials later denied the reports.

Video footage showed the suspect wearing checked shorts and a blue T-shirt. He appeared to be Caucasian with long dark curly shoulder-length hair under a dark blue baseball cap.

The bomber was said to be 36 years old and had been in the country for between four and seven days before the attack, Reuters reported.

Officials are still trying to determine how the alleged bomber triggered the explosion.

"He either had turned with his backpack toward the bus when he exploded it or pretended he was one of the group putting his backpack in the baggage compartment under the bus," according to a Bulgarian official with knowledge of the investigation who spoke with the New York Times.  "Video footage clearly shows him in the airport earlier wandering back and forth, following the group, looking nervous."

Seven people, including five Israeli tourists, were killed Wednesday after a bomb exploded on a bus in Bulgaria. The suspected attacker was carrying a fake Michigan driver's license, officials say. TODAY's Natalie Morales reports.

Authorities had managed to obtain DNA samples from the fingers of the suspected bomber, Tsvetanov said.

Officials did not release the name that appeared on the fake driver's license.

Prime Minister Boiko Borisov added: "We worked on this with colleagues from the FBI and CIA. They said that there is no such person in their database."

According to the Associated Press, officials lowered the death toll to seven, including the suspected bomber, after mistakenly reporting that someone had died overnight.

Bulgarian security services had received no indications of a pending attack. However, Israel accused Iranian-backed Hezbollah militants of responsibility.

Iran denied it was behind Wednesday's bombing.

Mangled metal
The tourists had just arrived in Bulgaria on a charter flight from Israel and were on the bus in the airport parking lot when the blast tore through the double-decker. Body parts were strewn across the ground, mangled metal hung from the vehicle's ripped roof and black smoke billowed over the airport.

As 150 Israeli tourists boarded buses to go to their hotels, a massive explosion killed at least six. Police don't yet have any answers, and nobody has claimed responsibility. NBC's Martin Fletcher reports.

"It felt like an earthquake and then I saw flying pieces of meat," said Georgi Stoev, an airport official. "It was horrible, just like in a horror movie."

On Thursday, the airport in Burgas -- a city of some 200,000 people at the center of a string of seaside resorts -- remained closed and police prevented people from approaching.

Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak accused the Tehran-backed Lebanese Shiite Muslim group Hezbollah of carrying out the bombing. "The immediate executors are Hezbollah people, who of course have constant Iranian sponsorship," Barak told Israel Radio.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also said Iran, the Jewish state's arch-enemy, was behind the attack and that "Israel will react powerfully against Iranian terror."

Israeli government spokesman Mark Regev linked the arrest of a foreigner in Cyprus earlier this month on suspicion of plotting an attack on Israeli tourists there with the Bulgaria bombing.

"The suspect who was arrested in Cyprus, in his interrogation, revealed an operational plan that is almost identical to what happened in Bulgaria. He is from Hezbollah ... this is a further indication of Hezbollah and Iran's direct responsibility," he told Reuters.

Bangkok blasts wound Iranian attacker, 4 others

The blast occurred on the 18th anniversary of a bomb attack at the headquarters of Argentina's main Jewish organisation that killed 85 people and the Argentine government blamed on Iran, which denied responsibility.

BGNES via AFP - Getty Images

Smoke rises over Burgas airport following a Wednesday's blast.

Israeli officials had previously said that Bulgaria, a popular holiday destination for Israeli tourists, was vulnerable to attack by Islamist militants who could infiltrate via Turkey.

Israeli diplomats have been targeted in several countries in recent months by bombers who Israel said struck on behalf of Iran.

'Inexcusable'
Although Tehran has denied involvement, some analysts believe it is trying to avenge the assassinations of several scientists from its nuclear program that the Iranians have blamed on Israel and its Western allies.

Israel and Western powers fear Iran is working towards a nuclear bomb but it says its uranium enrichment work is strictly for peaceful ends. Both Israel and the United States have not ruled out military action against Iranian nuclear facilities.

"The attack is terrible and inexcusable," said German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle. "It is a time to act responsibly. We have no information of our own. We urge caution in starting to assign blame."

The Associated Press and Reuters contributed to this report.

If he was from Michigan, there is a very good chance he was from Dearborn. The Muslims, as well as Chaldean regularly attack white guys who are alone, but they do it in packs of 12 + guys.

I have seen it many times near a restaurant I used to work at in the area. Those guys are pieces of crap. They don't just knock down, they rip them to shreds. All it takes is no fear to stop them. Deep down they are pussies.

That is where we need to be sending drones and clearing Muslim neighborhoods. They kill Christians and everyone else, why aren't we killing them back, Every time they burn a church, we should burn a mosque, Every time they kidnap someone we should kidnap an Imam. Every time they burn an American flag we should burn a Koran. If they want to protest and tear things apart, bring out the Napalm it worked great last time for crowd control.

But this will never happen, most Americans don't have the B@lls and the government is only interested in money. People are too busy whining and complaining.

Maybe the Michigan thing was to try and scare us, this could be happen in one of your towns, people better think they had a fake ID from that State, so someone had to provide an actual one to make the fake. We need to be very cautious about these Muslims in our country, I worked with Arabs from Palestine and they are not to be trusted, they will stab us in our back given the chance. Even if they are born in America they are sent back to the middle East at a very young age and taught to hate America, the Arabs I worked with did not hate Americans they hated our country and what it stood for they are totally brain washed people.

Well the article said it was a fake id, so chances are he was never in the U.S. You can buy fake id's on the internet that come from China. They even have the holograms that some states use. Police have troubles telling the fakes from the real ones. Of couse since they are from China, there isn't much the U.S. can or will do about them.

@ Woodshed: I live right alongside of Dearborn, and first, Chaldean's are mostly Roman Catholic, and are the ones who primarily own all the party stores in the area.

On another note, there is an incident on Youtube displaying a horde of Arab's at the Arab American Festivale in Dearborn, Michigan, who were attacking a small group of Christian missionaries that were there by pelting them with bottles, rocks and whatever else while the Dearborn police stood by and did nothing to stop it. [Type in: American Arabs Stone Christians or something to that effect].

For the most part, I personally have no problems with my Arab neighbors and they tend to keep up their property, but I don't doubt for a moment that there are individuals in the Arab community in Dearborn, who have direct links and ties with some of the terrorist orginizations out there.

@Big Curt - The video is right there when you Google your words at the top of the list. It was a sheer escalation into dangerous projectiles being thrown. The police did nothing to the assaulters. Only in Dearborn would that have happened and nobody retaliated heavily. If it were elsewhere in America, the outcome would have been much, much different. But they know where they are safe, and where they would not be so safe if they try and bring that violence elsewhere in America.

And I do find it most interesting the main stream media did not bring this to the attention of America. I guess they are still too focused on making Obama look competent and the Tea Party the violent haters in America.

That is one of the most ignorant comments I've ever heard.

You don't blame all practitioners of a religion just for the actions of a few. Every religion--even you Christians (of whom I'll assume you're a part of because of Crusader Knight you use as your icon) have sects of your religion with which you don't agree. Your Westboro Baptist folks come to mind here--they are Christian, but the majority of the practitioners of your religion don't espouse the same views they do.

By your logic, then, if one person like Timothy McVeigh blows up a building, then it would be okay to go to the church he attended and blow everything and everyone up in retaliation for what he did? Joseph Kony, down there in Africa, is razing whole villages and taking child brides and brainwashing boys into being child soldiers, all in the name of founding an African nation based on the Ten Commandments, which makes him Judeo-Christian. For every village he burns, we should burn a Christian town, for every child he rapes we should rape a christian child?

You're very good at painting everyone with the same broad brush. Back in the Middle Ages during thre Spanish Inquisition, you Christians went on a rampage aganist practitioners of my religion; because a few of our practitioners violate our Goddess's word to 'Harm none', you blamed all witches for the actions of a few and tried to wipe us off the face of the earth. What you got, instead, were a lot of people who did nothing wrong except not fitting in.

One would think you'd learned from that mistake. You don't blame all birds for the one that pooped on your car!

But this will never happen, most Americans don't have the B@lls and the government is only interested in money. People are too busy whining and complaining.

It's not that we don't have the testicular fortitude, it's that we're collectively more intelligent than that. And what do you think you're doing? Whining and complaining here. If this is what you believe, you take up arms, go out to Iraq and Afghanistan, and randomly start shooting up a Muslim town and killing Muslim children. Or you hijack a plane and crash it into Abu Dhabi in retaliation for their loose cannon crashing planes into the Twin Towers. See what happens to you.

We have had Muslims in our country for all 200+ years of our nation's existence. They have never been a problem. When the attack came, it came not from within, but without. There are Muslims serving in our military, fighting over there in the Middle East. By lumping them in the same category as the extremists who attacked us, you disrespect their sacrifice. Grow up.

@10tacle: No doubt. I totally agree with you.

The following year at the Arab Festival, there was another group of Christian's just handing out Bible tracks to the folks there. No signs. No confrontations on their part. Then the Dearborn Police came and ran them off because they were quote "Not in a Free Speech Zone," and arrested them for refusing to stop filming the conversation going on between them and the cops who were trampling on their Constitutional rights.

It's difficult to imagine what the perception of the US is to the average Iranian. Eisenhower overthrew a Democratically elected government and installed the Shah. We've issued a trade embargo and it has a direct effect on their food supply. Would I trust Israel or the US is I were Iranian? Nope, I wouldn't. We, nor Israel, have the right to dictate who develops what weapon. After all, we are the only ones to use "the ultimate weapon" on people.

I've gone to Native American gatherings and been harassed by Christians yelling out Biblical passages and prayers to cast out us so-called heathens, had to deal with my youngest child being cornered at a funeral by a preacher and his wife who were verbally bullying him about needing to convert to Christianity (and who denied they were doing this when I confronted them right in the middle of it), have been told by a church deacon that since I'm Native and we are the spawn of the devil that none of us can go to heaven, etc., and so on.

The purpose of mentioning the above? Every religion has some level of intolerance for others, never mind the fact that in most religions there are commandments to love others, to do other people no harm, to not blame a whole group for the actions of an individual, and to forgive those who wrong you. Don't see a whole lot of this going on among or from Christians, Jews, Muslims, or even Buddhists these days.

The best method of prosletyzing for your faith is to live it in every aspect of your life and most especially in your relationships with others be they friend or foe. Be the most honest, upright, compassionate, forgiving, generous, wise, and humble person you can be so as to be a role model. And instead of showing up at somebody's place of worship or religious/cultural festival with signs, Scriptures, and tracts (which are a rather rude intrusion) how about developing friendships with the people you want to convert? Let them get to know you, see that you are genuine? That you walk the talk?

As for the topic at hand...please stop speculating as it only makes you look like an idiot. Wait until the investigation has been completed and the results are released. You know, that principle of American jurisprudence about innocent until proven guilty? Try practicing that level of circumspection, please.

I haven't heard any comment that bring some sense to the discussion.

Israel is confronting a "global wave of terror" sponsored by Iran, Israel's Defence Minister Ehud Barak said on Thursday, a day after an attack in Bulgaria that left six Israelis dead.

"We are facing a global wave of terror... the attack in Burgas was led by members of Hezbollah and sponsored by Iran," Barak told Israeli public radio.

"The Al-Qaeda and Islamic Jihad networks also operate globally," he added, citing a long list of recent attacks or attempted attacks on Israelis around the world.

Bulgaria's Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov said Thursday that the attack at the Black Sea airport of Burgas was carried out by a suicide bomber, and left six Israelis and one Bulgarian dead.

"There are hundreds of thousands of Israelis abroad, and our intelligence services are in contact with their foreign counterparts to share information," Barak said.

"There are often very big successes, but it doesn't always work and we must continue to live. We will do everything possible to track down the perpetrators and instigators of the Burgas attack and punish them," he added.

On Wednesday evening, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly accused Tehran and Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah of involvement in the attack.

"All the signs point to Iran," Netanyahu said in a statement, which said the blast was the latest in a string of attempts to attack Israelis in Thailand, India, Georgia, Kenya, Cyprus and other places.

And in a phone call with Bulgaria's Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, Netanyahu "indicated that Iran and Hezbollah were conducting a global terror campaign against Israelis across the world," a statement from his office said.

Wednesday's explosion, which ripped through a bus picking up tourists arriving from Tel Aviv, is the deadliest attack on Israelis abroad since 2004.

The explosion came only a few days after a suspected operative of Hezbollah, the Lebanese militant group with close ties to Iran, was arrested in Cyprus on suspicion of plotting to kill Israeli tourists there. That was big news in Israel and reinforced the sense of suspicion that Israelis vacationing abroad might be targets.

It is a clear that this is a retaliation for the deaths of scientific Iranians who were developing nuclear weapons in Iran, Iran accuse Israel for the attacks but so far is no prove. To be fair not Obama, Romney, Tea Party and the State of Michigan got nothing to do with this. We have a common enemy and this is Iran. We can't allowed those son of b@#$%# s continuing killing innocents in the name of their religion and their desire to put the world under their knees.

With Obama's open borders and don't pick on illegal policies there is also little doubt that this bomber was in and out of here quite easily, the Mexican border has become a pathway for anyone to slide through. There were 25 people taking flying lessons here that were foreign nationals. This is illegal in and of itself however add to that 17 of them were either here illegally in the first place or had overstayed one of those visas the Obama administration passes out like candy. If liberals can't see the threat coming from this they really do live in fantasy land. If it would only effect them I'd say good for them but it will in the end hurt us all. And Obama thinks middle eastern people are picked on here and need our tax dollars to help them establish businesses. WHAT, got any gas or stopped at a convenience store lately? Now, that being said...I work in a Christian private company. I get literature at my desk urging me to 'repent' and 'be saved'. I got suspended from work for sending an email before the three-day Easter weekend that said 'Happy non-denominational celebration day.' Not a day goes by when someone doesn't shove some kind of Christian literature into my hand on the bus. I stopped an elderly woman from crossing the street once just before a Jag ran a red light. She looked at me, saw the pentacle hanging next to my dog tags and screamed "you're going to hell!" before she continued across the street.

I have met with more religious intolerance from US Christians than from practitioners of any other faith. Now would this be the case overseas? I honestly don't know, I have never traveled overseas. But this is my experience here.

Kony may be funded and armed by Sudanese Muslims, but he SAYS that God speaks to him, is telling him to found an African Nation based on the rule of the Ten Commandments.

Are either of these entities true 'Christians?' No. I went to private/parochial school when younger, was raised Catholic by a staunchly Irish Catholic father. The nuns at school taught us to love the sinner hate the sin Turn the other cheek. Do good to those who despitefully use you. We're all God's children and He loves us all. Some of the attitudes displayed here are nowhere near close to what I was taught.

You can say you are Christian and yet display none of the characteristic of what Christianity teaches--tolerance, kindness, love and compassion for your fellow man, patience and understanding.

It's what you do that matters, not whose Name you do it in.

Leave Michigan alone and Dearborn, there have been large numbers of Arabs and eastern Europeans there for many decades. I lived there, there were problems sometimes but no more or less than with any other large immigrant group, I didn't see any I hate America conspiracy. The ID was fake, what would you all be saying if he'd chosen Texas instead of Michigan for his fake ID, where would you point your fingers then.

Isreal is the father of terrorism, too bad you dont know the history, remember the King David Hotel bombing? who invented malataugh cocktails? who killed all the women and children in the vill. of diess yassiem? I guess you never heard of the Irgun or Stern Gang. Isreal started the cycle of terror in 1945. the plo founded in the 1960s, Hezbolla years after that. So who are the terrorists? .......waiting...........waiting........waiting...........times up.

heres a quick story: the "terrorists captured and English soldier. they strangled him by hand. They hung him from a tree with a rope and put an explosive under the leaves beneath him. When the English came to get him down, booom, one guy lost his legs. this happened in 1946, the guy in charge was former prime minister to Isreal Beigin who was also convicted in absentia in England for the King David hotel bombing which killed a young child. So tell me please. who started this sht?

Muslims clean up your own house, and stop worrying about the Jews

Dearborn is the largest gathering of Muslim extremists in the country. Notice that we hear NOTHING about it in the mainstream media. They have control of the city, the county the police and they have a Muslim senator who spews out Muslim retoric and NO ONE in the senate or the media says one damn word to condemn it. We are so worried about threats from the outside and the next big attack will come from within our own shores!!!

Actually it is a matter of a historical fact that Mossad and the Hagannah blew up Jewish cafes in Iraq in the the 1940's in order to get Iraqi Jews to emigrate to Israel. It was proven in court. Naem Giladi, an Iraqi Jewish Journalist, wrote a book entitled "Ben Gurion's Scandals" and it is available at truetorahjews . c o m

"Just a guess,,,,,he was from Dearborn and was a muslim until he lost his head!"

That's not so far fetched. There is a connection between Michigan and Hezbollah terrorists. It's too complicated to explain here, but I would recommend you read the book Lightening Out of Lebanon: Hezbollah Terrorists on American Soil. There are 18 references to the state of Michigan in the index of that book, and 4 of those are to Dearborn. According to the authors, Hezbollah has succeeded in establishing a presence in the Americas, including North America. So the Israelis may be correct. That book makes fascinating and frightening reading. Highly recommended.

For the last few years, the united states of america has been the chief user of terrorism by assassination.

According to a Sienna poll done in June of 2011, 48% of New Yorkers Support a New 9/11 Investigation into Building 7′s Collapse. Building 7 was never hit by an airplane yet it fell a little after 5PM on 9-11. Over forty stories high and it fell to the ground in a little over 6 seconds. Victims of 9-11 such as Robert McIlvaine, Manny Badillo, and Janet Pollicino call for a new investigation into Building 7's collapse. Joey Garofalo, an advocate for thousands of first responders and someone who helped at ground zero, also calls for a new investigation. This is not theory it is a fact. I stand with the victims of 9-11!

I love this, anytime anyone says anthing critical about the jewish people you are automatically labeled a "jew hater" or an "anti-semite". So I guess we are just suppose to let them do what ever they want to who ever they want like they are the kings of the world and not say a thing to them? It seems all religious fanatics are just alike, Jews, Christians and Muslims all want to be able to hate anyone they want but the rest of us are forced to love them no matter how crappy they treat us. Sorry but I think you are all a$$holes and the world be be a much more peaceful place if you would all just rapture the hell out of here, and soon!

Here's two white bombers, not sure if they were Christian, though: Tim McVeigh and Andrew Kehoe. I believe McVeigh intended to face the death penalty for his actions, so even if he did not kill himself at the site of the bombing, the results were the same. Andrew Kehoe was indeed a white suicide bomber--look up "Bath School Disaster".

We can speculate all we want on who is responsible and why they did this, it won't resolve the issue facing us which is hatred. Hatred is usually born from fear and ignorance. We seem to have many qualified "hate" candidates here in the U.S. You hate this group and they hate that group and so on; and on and on.....

Next we will have retaliation for this horrible act and then? You guessed it, another terrorist attack and more retaliation. The worst part is the people who do not hate anyone get caught in the crossfire (or explosion). What we NEED is communication and compromise, NOT more hatred, acts of terrorism, retaliation or wars!!!!!

How come we are not allowed to forget how the Jews were treated by the Germans, every year a new films is released by Hollywood about the holocaust.

Yet go to the parking lot of any Synagogue and you will find it full of Mercs and BMW's. Onto Israel the new settlers were not even born in the area and they are grabbing land from Families who have lived thier for many years.

And if the Jews are so perfect how come they are the ones who are always persecuted, Britain would not allow them in for 400 years, the Germans still do not exactly "love" them.

Your remarks show a deep streak of antisemitism coupled with a startling lack of knowledge about history. Minority groups, be they ethnic, political or religious have often been the target of purges by the majority population in nations where they lived.

Aside from the Jews, one could speak of the Armenian genocide in Turkey a century ago, or the slaughter of Tutsi tribesmen at the hands of their Hutu countrymen in Rwanda during the early 1990s, or the purge of the Muslims and Jews from Spain following the reconquest of Grenada in 1492 by Ferdinand and Isabella.

Such purges say more about the majority population in nations where they occur than about those expelled or killed, and your remarks say a great deal more about you than about anybody of the Jewish faith.

Ethnic/religious hatred and ignorance. Funny how those two qualities are often found in the same person, or perhaps funny is not the right word.

Early reports said the attack was similar to bombings last February in India and Georgia - and planned in Bangkok before careless bombers blew up their home and themselves on Valentine's Day.

In those attacks, Iranians trailed cars with Israeli passengers on motorcycles, and attached bombs with magnets before speeding away. Similar attacks were reportedly planned in Bangkok before three Iranians blew themselves up instead.

The blast came on the anniversary of an attack on a Jewish community centre in Buenos Aires in 1994 that killed 85 people and wounded 300. The attack was blamed on Iran, which denied the charge.

                        reference - http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/world/303212/four-dead-in-attack-on-israelis-in-bulgaria

The BKK incident, where the bombers got to experience their bombs up close and personnel. They had traveled from several countries into Thailand, but their home of origin was Iran...

Five are charged, two made it back to Iran, the remainder are in jail/hospital. One blew his own legs off, when his bomb bounced back at him... Ha! Ha!

Or maybe the guy in the picture is a patsy like Lee Harvey Oswald. I don't know what the truth is, but i do not trust any of the players.

Americans will have attack drones used on us by our own government in the near future. If your neighborhood is in the way of a big corporate developer and you try to figth it, you and your neighbors could be attacked overnight. Out protesting against government corruption? Again, drones can easily and very precisely take out the crowd with a minimum of property damage and without using the police who might sympathize with their fellow Americans too much. Agitate against the system and you could be taken out while driving your car to the store or to work.

Think I'm going around the bend on this? Lets talk in a few years and see.

We've been moving towards fascism since the late 1960's and as corporations have pretty much taken over our government and own our elected officials the process is very nearly complete. Once we all lose our voting rights or voting rights are curtailed only to those of the "approved" party, America will no longer be America at all and those who dissent or protest will be attacked as viciously as anything we've seen in the most repressive regimes up until now. Why do you think there are so many prisons being built by provate corporations? Why do you think Blackwater (now Xe) has such a huge mercenary force and so many global corporate clients? Why do you think our voting rights are being attacked?

                            Wake up sheeple.

I had a manager back in the mid '70s who moved out of Michigan because of all those, you know, Jews (sorry, can't do written Lewis Black), so he moved to sunny California.

I wonder if he ever went back to Michigan, got a MI driver's license, renewed his hatred of Jews and then flew over to Bulgaria and bombed the bus full of Jews.

I am jewish, I have seen the "Passions", and there was nothing anti-semitic there, he was just following the bible word for word, and the rest was free to interpretation.

Mel clearly has some issues (fighting with police and bitting up your girlfriend is not healthy) but his movies are just informative hystorical movies that don't carry any real political propaganda.

If any anti-semites out there think they were inspired by Mel Gibson's movies, they are just delusional. They could just as easily be inspired by a cerial box, because they thought Count Chacula looked jewish.

This is what happens when the Republicans (mostly, but the West in general) keep waging war in the middle east and then letting immigrants come from the countries they invade. Do you think only passive friendly people will immigrate? Your enemies don't even need a trojan horse to enter, you open the gates and invite them in and then are shocked when they misbehave.

"This is what happens when the Republicans"???

It was Carter who funded, supplied with weapons, and trained the Muslim radicals in Afghanistan during the 1970's.

Clinton was supporting these same people during the Bosnia Conflict. It was during his watch the the terrorist planned, trained, and placed their key people in the USA, for 9-11...

George Bush and the UK turned the Afghanistan 'Nation Building' over to the UN & 52 other countries in dec 2001. Bush used the same justification & intel that Clinton used to justify the 1998 Iraq bombing, for the 2003 invasion. After receiving almost 100% support for the US Comgress. Remember when Saddam was paying successful terrorist bomber families $10,000+USD???

You can't be Christian and hate Jews. When Jesus walked the earth he was a Jew. He lived like a Jew, worshiped like a Jew, when he comes back he will be a Jew.

Come on people, think! With all the saber rattling between Israel and Iran, what a perfect opportunity for a false flag attack! Terrorists more often than not, claim their kills. No group has done that yet. Why would Iranian terrorists travel to Bulgaria to kills Jews? There are Jews in Iran, and Israel is relatively close. Israel is itching for war with Iran and to drag us into it (The US is Israel's puppet), so why not blow something up to make it look like Iran did? It's not like the Mossad has no history of such attacks, including assassinations all over the world. Don't fall for the trickery of Israel.

Quite true, Isreal have more to gain than they have lost. They always seem to have more to gain than to lose.

funny how a very expensive magnet bomb, is used to kill people - is an assassination. But 1 man than can only carry c4 on his back, is a terrorist.

Israel is just a guilty of acts of terrorism and war as any nation..

My heart goes out to the innocent people caught in the cross fire.. :(

                                  false flag attack

                                  Good luck with that one!

I guess you could always try to piggyback that on the tale of the four thousand Jews who didn't go to work in the WTC on 9/11.

Now, that would have been a "false flag attack" for the ages, wouldn't it.

Well said. Israel HAS used false flag attacks before where they dress up as Arabs to make Brits and Americans think it was Muslims that killed their citizens (King David Hotel bombing, the Lavon affair, even the U.S.S. Liberty was supposed to point toward Egypt). Israel has also been caught stealing and faking British, American and Australian passports before. I'm not buying this latest "Iran attack". However, most Americans WILL, and we will be losing another 5,000 to 10,000 (or more) American soldiers shortly.

bonos, the Israelis called in a warning to the King David Hotel, making it clear who they were...and thus using a technique they had learned from their mentors in the IRA.

But of course. Because someone from the US wanting to bomb them would be from Michigan. There's no other people from any other state more likely to carry out such an attack. Better yet, no other country more capable of doing so. We're they trying to insinuate that he was a 'secret agent'? Better yet, a citizen acting alone? Because after all, we know that it's the American people that hate every country. Not just our government and it's politicians.

Or maybe they were planning on bombing Michigan next!! Oh noooz, theyz gonna bomb Michigan. There's sooo much to lose up there (from a terror standpoint). Let's all start building bomb shelters and not go outside. The big bad terrorist is coming to kill us.

You people are such sheep. Things are not as bad as you have been led to believe. Stop getting all your info from the normal sources that just feed crap to the masses. I know it's the American way to be lazy as s*** these days but really, try honoring your ancestors and actually do some work and think for yourself. Think logically and intelligently. It's hard, I understand but it can be done.

The Michigan 'fake'driver's license tells the fact that terror orgs' members have it easy in US even to visit the WH,get an audience from CI/WH, Dep.Secr.State and ask for the release of WTC I bombing instigator, abettor (sentenced for life in a court of law)al Rahmen-the Blind Sheikh -to be released. Iran is financing, training, faciliating the Hizbollah and Hamas terrorists and July 18th was the 18th anniversary of the Buenos Aires AMIA bombing with 87 dead and over 100+injured. Obama/HRC solution for peace talks- give the Palestinians guns and release the terrorists in Israeli prisons- as a 'inducement' for talks.

Almost ALL other countries are required to receive a Visa prior to arriving in Thailand. Without a Visa you are limited to 3 - 30+day tourist pass...

Presently this is being reviewed by the new Thai Government...

Bulgaria has a very porous border with Turkey. Bulgarian intelligence service was often used by the Russians for assassinations and black bag jobs. The failed assassination attack on Pope Paul in the 80s was carried out by a Turk, recruited by the Bulgarian intelligence service on the behest of the then Soviet Union. Russia is Iran's good friend. Get the picture.

It seems they chose this location because:

a.) popular destination for Israeli tourists, and

b.) the security is crap. From the article, quotes by Bulgarian spokesperson: "Video footage clearly shows him in the airport earlier wandering back and forth, following the group, looking nervous." Then later "In no way did this person distinguish himself from the arriving tourists who were in the area,".

Of course he distinguished himself. You said it - he wandered back and forth, following the group, and looking nervous. That is exactly the type of behavior that Israeli security (and other functional security forces) would look for in a terminal. They would stop him and interrogate - isolate until checked out.

And these ME people apparantly have no idea how CLEANLY we can pop that pimple It is not 1960 anymore and we can cleanly extinct the entire population within minutes. THIS IS A FACT. It would childish to think that we would not do this. Grow up and deal with reality.

That is only a reality if you are looking from outer space. To 'pop' that pimple would simply escalate the entire region to include the rest of the world with a no-win nanner-nanner.

If the Russians or Chinese pop it-the Americans would take action/offence (even though the end result would have been beneficial)

If the Americans did it- the Russians ---blah blah blah - same result.

The ME hates the rest of the world - but they sure do love the money and the culture when it suites them. (911 boys were said to have spent the night before at a strip bar)

We have created, nurtured, and armed them because they had what we needed (erl) now we have to deal with the fact that we never did more than throw money and arms at them thinking that they would 'love' us and gladly join us in the century in which we live in.

J.P. It is not just Israel or any other specific country. It is the entire culture of the ME who are behaving like neanderthals and the Big Three and the world are sick of watching innocent childeren and citizens being killed due to their neanderthalic cultures. Their time is running out unless they quickly grow up.

Well the rest of the world should be sick of what the Israeli's are doing to the Palestinians, especially considering the U.S is giving them the green light to ethnically cleanse them and steal their land. What goes around , comes around.

What more can the Jews do? they've given up land, collect taxes for, provide electricity and water, and take care of all infrastructure for the Palestininans! The idiot Muslims can't seem to wrap their heads around the fact that the Jews are there to stay, and (historically) have as much (if not more) claim to the homeland as the palestinians do. If they would stop with the suicide bombimgs, rocket attack and killing of Jews (and each other) for more than 5 minutes they'd have a pretty good thing goin. Unfortunatly, they won't and they continue to bring everything down on themselves.

No matter whether you believe in Jesus or not the Israelis are Gods chosen people. They are surrounded by islamic people who want nothing more than to exterminate them. Wouldn't it be funny if the Israelis had a few neutron bombs? A quick conclusion to the islamic problem.

It's not about GOD having "favorites." It's about HIM "choosing" them to reveal HIMSELF, HIS Ways and Words to them. And then through them, bringing Salvation to the world, through HIS Son, JESUS CHRIST. All Biblical Prophecy is centered around Israel and the Jewish people.

Being God's "Chosen People" does NOT give Israel the right to do as it damn well pleases to other people, including conducting ethnic cleansing of Palestinians and other non-Israelis. Nor does it give Isael the right to conduct espionage, saboutage, and assassinations or to foment war between other nations. It doesn't give Israelis the right to throw stones at tourists in Orthodox neighborhoods or grown Orthodox men to spit on and menace female tourists and all while the police watch and do nothing to protect those being assaulted. Nor does it require that the rest of us accept or support such behavior. And if you'll recall the actual passage, it was God's promise to Abraham and his descendents...and through his two sons Ismael and Isaac he fathered many nations, all of whom were included in the blessing and the promise. There was no Israel at the time that promise was made.

Alan do you ever stop to think that most Palestinians and Samaritans are the direct descendents of 1st Century Jewish and Christian Judeans who were not expelled by the Romans? Israeli professor Shlomo Sands has hypothesized this for several years but the Israeli government won't all him to conduct DNA tests from 1st Century remains and modern Palestinain and Samaritan populations to prove the validity of this. Wonder why? I mean if they aren't the descendents of the original Judeans (who were the descendents of the original Israelites) wouldn't Israel want to prove that so as to justify the ethnic cleansing?

So Allison who gave the American government the right to do the same? Israel is a tiny country that is surrounding by many much larger ones that want them gone/dead. Yeah I know Palestine is so innocent in all of what has been going on. It really was not hundreds of missles/rockets a week that they launched into Israel, it was just some Estes model rockets.

To be honest I applaud Israel for so restrained through the years and not striking back in full force except when there boarders were attacked. People say Israel just wants to attack Iran and waht would that matter or cost them? Well considering the size of their country it could cost them a large % of their population. If you think the Palestinians are such innocent and good people them why dont you move there, well maybe becaus you may be white and a non believer so they would not have you, you may even then end up as a hostage and guess who would most likely try to or even free you-The Israelis. Listen there are many-many Israelis that I cant stand but I do give them credit for sticking together and helping there own, just imagine if us Americans could care and do for other Americans half as much as what the Israleis do for their people. As far as them being "Gods Chosen People" well if I had invented/started this 'God' Theory then I would also say and write the same thing.

More and more Jews are heading for the middle east and grabbing Arab land, we are facilitating that.

I hate to see innocent people hurt or killed.

That said, when you screw over another nation or people bad enough, they will want to kill you. I think it foolhardy and arrogant to believe otherwise. Doesn't matter how good your security either. That includes the US. By sticking your nose into the issues of the middle east, you have created a permanent enemy who will be a threat for generations, or maybe forever. And regardless of the level of security, they will kill people sooner or later. It's inevitable.

So people need to realize, that your family may be the unlucky bunch that happens to get it one day. If that isn't incentive to demand you government stop interfering in the affairs of other nations, I don't know what is. And the reason most of the politicians want to interfere in the first place, is glory and recognition. Nobel peace prizes and crap like that, or resources and money for fatcats. Rarely is it for any real good reason worthy of lives, especially innocent lives. It's almost always for greed of some kind.

Israel and the West are simply receiving the backlash that everyone should have realized was inevitable. Think about it.. If someone was doing to you, what Israel and the West so glibly do to others, how would you react? If some country killed my family, or took my land by force, I would go to any length to get revenge. Anyone who says they wouldn't do the same is a liar, or deluding themselves.

There is only one way out of this mess, stop interfering and make restitution. Then, and only then, is there a chance for this nightmare to end. Otherwise the killing will go on and on forever, and likely only get worse.

Near as I can tell restitution to them is we all convert to Islam. We can't even get over our bickering here. Just look around here, politices, race, religion, gangs, drugs, crime, aliens, Rush Limbaugh, Heck, if we were Islam we just like them.

Nuking the Middle East will only create even more enemies. All Arabs don't live in one place. Just like all Jewish people dont live in one place, or all white people, or all black people. Not only that, people of other backgrounds may take up the cause against you, just for being killers. Some people take offense to that. There is no simple solution, or easy one.

And restitution does work with these people. They have been using that system for thousands of years in the Middle East. And by restitution, I don't just mean paying them off. I mean give them back land that was taken as well.

Great point freedom4everyone...George Washington said "avoid entangling foreign affairs" he was right then and he is right today. Focus on your citizens and the country...no one has come here and occupied our country since we became one in the manner that we have occupied other countries...stay the F..ck out of the middle east. It only serves as a reason for hatred of our citizens and country. Whats the purpose of the UN? where is diplomacy? why are we (USA) so quick to bomb people?? should be like this...you try something here, we will kick your a_s! You hurt our people, expect pain! otherwise, be nice and play well in the sandbox! if you have issues take them to the UN and we can collaborate...and in the UN isn't working ...get to root cause of why it isn't and do something to fix it...that should be the place to iron out differences.

                                                          Restitiution does not work.

Israel gave away half of what it had in the 60s, and nothing changed. Hamas made it clear that they wont settle for the entire territory of Israel. Excuse Israelis for not wanting to give away all of their country.

Kev-just cause you say it over and over does not make it so. The only way that would happen is if they - all of the B.T. held hands and each grabbed an instrument to play that final waltz.

The other sollution is one or two doing it and the rest of the world following suit against each other. The ME does not have to 'grow up' because they know no matter the outcome of the current situation, they are the winner. How can you battle a foe that is willing to die en-mass to destroy their enemy.

The obvious answer, I know, to give them their way.

This was a false flag attack - designed to throw suspicion onto someone else, or at least to hide the identity of the real attacker(s).

Jesus Christ never permitted His followers to perpetrate violence against others, to act in revenge, or to take from others their lands, possessions, or lives. His commandments were for His followers to love God above all else, to love your neighbor as yourself, to care for the poor and oppressed, and to seek justice for everyone. In the Parable of the Good Samaritan, Jesus defined "neighbor" as everybody on the planet. He also stated that you cannot hate your neighbor and claim to love God. If you hate anyone, it means that you do not truly love God. Worse, if you know that and still think its ok to hate you have made your hatred of others more important to you than God.

IF this was an Iranian-sponsored fiasco meant to "avenge" the killing of their nuclear scientists (who were making a bomb to kill as many thousands of innocent people as possible), you strike back by blowing up a bus full of tourists?? Maybe if you are feeling scared and impotent you do.

Great thinkers. Boy, they fooled everyone! They are so smart they killed tourists on a bus. GENIUS!

I know this because of the 11 Sept. 11th bombers, none were Iraqis, 2 were Saudis, and the rest Egyptians. They got fake drivers licenses in NJ. NJ has a much larger population of Muslims owing to the proximity to their main port of entrance in NY.
