Subscribe to RSSAn individual wearing an Afghan police uniform opened fire on a group of civilians in western Afghanistan on Sunday, killing three civilians and wounding several others, a senior U.S. military official confirmed to NBC News.
The casualties included Americans and the shooter was also killed, officials said.
The civilians were contract workers for NATO's International Security Assistance Force. They were working at a regional training center for Afghan security forces based in Herat but there was no word yet on their specific job duties.
It wasn’t immediately known if the shooter was an actual police officer, the official said.

I agree and also strongly feel that we should keep away from most of the Muslim nations including Syria, Iran and other places.
In Afghanistan, Pakis have backstabbed the US and NATO forces big time. Half of NATO forces deaths are due to ungrateful and backstabbing Pakis.
When the NATO forces were entering Kandahar in 2001, Pakis airlifted key al-Qaida, Taliban, ISI and others militants by back door from Kandahar.
This includes Mullah Omar, Osama and many including Paki Haqqani militant network leaders.
Hope people remember about Pakis sheltering Osama.
These Paki Islamic religious Nazis don't bother about their people and they are into reckless killing games in the name of jihad.
Drone attacks are not enough and to reduce NATO forces losses, Paki militant areas should be carpet bombed just like 1991 Iraqi war.
Or else just get out right now.
Also no Paki, Afghan and other liabilities should be permitted inside the US, UK, European nations and other non-Muslim nations.
It looks like the Taliban are already anticipating NATO's departure, so they can take their country back into the dark ages. The Taliban will once again establish their brutal tyranny over Afghanistan. They will once again provide a safe haven for Muslim terrorists. And they will once again build their suicide bombs and plan yet more attacks on the civilized world. What a waste.
It is, perhaps, small comfort to realize that the citizens of the country who refused to fully support the NATO forces will be back under the oppressive boot heel of the Muslim extremists. Maybe they will regret their cowardice.
I'm sure their women will.

In order for the 'war' effort to continue supplies mostly fuel must pass through the Khyber Pass which is controlled by Pakistan.
Now do you know how many gallons of fuel have been destroyed in the pass since the Pakis decided to side with their raghead friends?
Millions... the incompetent and liberal 'press' never says one thing about the destruction of the fuel.
But our great leader, a Nobel Prize winner no less has never raised an issue with the Pakis over this. Why not ? Well does one muslim chastise another NO OF COURSE NOT. Of course over the years other not so great folks have been awarded the prize. Such notables as Yasser Arafat shared the prize with that miserable dumbo who chose to disrespect his dad when he was sworn in. He demanded that he be sworn in as “Jimmie Carter’. His real name was and still is: James Earl Carter, Junior.
Now isn’t that sweet ? We have another Junior stinking up the White House with the same criminal attempt.
Is there anyone who believes this destroyer is a Christian? Is there anyone who believes he is 'qualified' for the office ?
No just the dismal and abysmal fools who continue to drink the cool aid and eat the ham (oops no ham for muslims) sandwiches and the free food, unemployment and food stamps he has so cleverly arranged to be passed out to the potential voters. Of course if you are unemployed, have no savings anymore and no chance of a job in the near future you must vote for the hand that feeds you.
Even if you bankrupt the Treasury and ruin the Nation... you must.
Or you can get off your high horse and your ass and vote this pretender out of office.
Then launch an investigation into his crimes while in office and imprison him and his minions.
We can fight the MUSLIMs FOREVER or just draw a final conclusion that they are Not Ready for a Democratic form of Government, nor will they ever be. Their lives are based on the Queran, and Sharia Law and they will remain in the Dark Ages for ALL ETERNITY. After we leave that country, within six months it will be as though we were never there.
Muslims are not now nor never will be ready for any democratic form of government. They are a people who need to be left along to die and fade away as that is their destiny.
Maybe we the American people are looking at this all wrong.... Obviously these Taliban fellows are tough tenacious warriors.. let them rule there country with fiefdoms.. nothing like a real good warlord to keep as an ally.. just to help out now and then.. they are fiercely loyal to those who are loyal to them.. we should reevaluate our goals.. after all ..

Even after 11 years and losing thousands of soldiers and spending trillions of dollars, these are state of affairs.
It was most foolish to have most ungrateful and backstabbing Saudis and Pakis as allies.
Another dumb act was to get into to Iraqi war in 2003 without stabilizing Afghanistan.
At least, Bush and co and military planners and leaders should have known that Iraq and Afghanistan are the toughest battle zones in the world.
Very few have conquered and held them for long.
