Subscribe to RSSU.S. drones fired six missiles and pounded a house and car in the Mir Ali subdivision of Pakistan's North Waziristan tribal region on Sunday.
Local villagers said the drone targeted a house where militants reportedly resided.
The villagers said a car has also been damaged in the attack.
Pakistani security officials based in the area said five U.S. spy planes were seen flying over the area during the attack.
A security official said five people had been confirmed dead and four others were injured in the attack.
There was no immediate information about the identity of the victims.

Local residents however said besides Pakistani militants, members of al-Qaida and Afghan Taliban were also hiding in the area.
It was the second attack by U.S. drones in North Waziristan during the holy month of Ramadan.
Fourteen people, all believed to be militants, were killed in a previous drone attack at Dre Nishtar village of Shawal Valley of North Waziristan.

Pakistan officials have for an end to U.S. drone attacks.
Ambassador Sherry Rehman, speaking to the Aspen Security Forum on Friday, said the drone attacks have already succeeded in damaging al-Qaida but are now only serving to recruit new militants.
"I am not saying drones have not assisted in the war against terror, but they have diminishing rate of returns," Rehman said, speaking by video teleconference from Washington.
"We will seek an end to drone strikes and there will be no compromise on that," she added.
Pakistan's spy chief, Lt. Gen. Zaheerul Islam, is expected to reiterate the demand in his first meeting with CIA Director David Petraeus, at CIA headquarters in Virginia, next week.

Pakistan provides a safe haven for the Taliban and Al Queda because they consider an unstable Afghanistan to be in their interest. Also, it serves to tie the US military to their bidding. They can poke the US in the eye and take our billions knowing we can't retaliate.
They actually welcome the drone strikes because they have little control over their Taliban warlords The drones encourage the Taliban in Pakistan to behave or face unrestricted assault from the US.
The little (Ivy League) missy ambassador squeeks up to make the Pakistanis think the government gives a damn about who is vaporized on their soil.

This piece of 'news' exposed it propaganda agenda by over emphasizing the fact that local Pakistani people identified the victims and intended victim as 'militant' or Al Queda members. It is an obvious heavy-handed, hard-selling strategy to exonerate the mistaken killing of women and children by American drones, earlier.
America has been waging war in Afghanistan for more than 10 years and during that time has overtly and covertly invaded Pakistan as well. As thousands of Pakistani civilians have died and suffered at the hands of the American military forces, the majority of Pakistani have little affection for America. In response to American military aggression around the world and especially in Pakistan, more of Pakistani disenfranchized and poor have joined the jihadist's call for guerilla war against America as the casualty mounts. Essentially, the American military has produced more anti-American extremists than it has killed, endangering America even more.
America has become the world's assassin. Any foreigner who expresses anti-America rant through the media is executed via the Predator as were several vocal disloyal American citizens living in Yemen.
America invades four nations and wages war against their people who dislike America or its foreign policy. Without provocation from Pakistan, America unilaterally decides which Pakistani civilian deserve death under the pretense of global war on terrorism.
While America grieves and flies its flag at half stafff when a mad Colorado gunman kills a handful of people in a movie theatre, America fails to feel the suffering of the Pakistani people who have grieved much more when a mad America military slaughters thousands of people throughout Pakistan.
As long as there is one of these filthy terrorists out there, plotting, the "RETURN" has not been ENOUGH!

After 9-11 Readers Digest did a survey in Pakistan as to what they thought of Osama Bin Ladin. 65% thought Bin Laden was a hero. Making assumptions that they hate us because of drone strikes instead of just hating us because we aren't Muslims is your big mistake. What excuse will you Muslim defenders use when we're long out of Afghanistan and they continue to attack us?
Yup, because we were attacked on our homeland by an enemy based in Afghanistan and now living in Pakistan. We have given Pakistan hundreds of billions of dollars to help us fight the enemy on their soil to no avail. Any country that gives safe haven to an enemy that is attacking us is subject to our attack.
Regardless of the intellectual conclusion that our attacks only recruit more terrorists, the facts are that during these last 10 years terrorist attacks against American interests outside the theater of operations, including here in the U.S. have been almost non-existent.
Contrast that to the previous 30 years when American Administrations either failed to act or only provided a "limited response" such as lobbing a few dozen cruise missiles into the afghan hills. Attacks escalated from the Iran Hostage Crisis, the Marine barracks bombing, attacks on Embassies, The US Cole, and finally 9/11.
Doing nothing and limited response don't work. They only show weakness and encourage the enemy. If you had spent a little more time in the school yard instead of cowering in the library, you would understand this.
Apparently what we are doing now is working better than what we were doing during the previous 3 decades. Let's keep it up.

Killing people by drones without notifying the country's officials seems to be a bad move that only strengthens international resentment, especially when there are so many innocent people killed collaterally. How would we feel if drones bombed are neighborhoods because a suspected terrorist was seen at the local KMart?
Plus, this story seems suspicious in its getting everyone in the neighborhood saying its okay.

The villagers do not want these types here. The problem is they(militants,terrorists) have guns and rpgs and the villagers have pitch forks, and shovels. Noone in these areas are happy about drones flying overhead everyday, this affects them pshycologically daily, so I do not believe any of them are saying it is o.k,nor is that what our govt is trying to pervay.

In Afghanistan, Pakis have backstabbed the US and NATO forces big time. Half of NATO forces deaths are due to ungrateful and backstabbing Pakis.
When the NATO forces were entering Kandahar in 2001, Pakis airlifted key al-Qaida, Taliban, ISI and others militants by back door from Kandahar.
This includes Mullah Omar, Osama and many including Paki Haqqani militant network leaders.
Hope people remember about Pakis sheltering Osama.

Drone attacks are not enough and to reduce NATO forces losses, Paki militant areas should be carpet bombed just like 1991 Iraqi war.

You see, with the drone attacks, obama can look "hawkish" but can also NOT appear as a "war monger". Which is fine I guess so long as tiddly-winks is the game of the day, but when other world players stop fooling around, this game of drone attacks is going to fall way short. I can only hope we have not gutted our military by then to where we are left with our asses hanging out, with only a mediocre military machine, commanded by a weak POTUS with questionable loyalties and motives.

We are tamping down the flames of terrorism. This "fire" is almost impossible to fully extinguish but we can not let it burn out of control once again. The unfortunate part are the innocents that are hurt or killed in the process.
This also lessens the need to send our own people into dangerous situations.
My advice to those "innocents" in these areas is to stay waway from the militants as much as possible.
