Suicide bomber kills 25 in Yemen

ADEN -- A suicide bomber killed at least 25 tribal fighters when he blew himself up in the midst of a funeral in a village in Yemen's southern province of Abyan on Saturday, officials and residents said.

The bomber targeted tribesmen who sided with the Yemeni army during an offensive against Islamist militants that the government hailed as a major victory in June.

The blast came two days after an Italian embassy security officer kidnapped last Sunday by tribesmen in the oil-producing province of Maarib was released in good health.

On Tuesday in Jaar, militants attacked a police station in Yemen's southern city of Jaar, killing four policemen and injuring one.

Ansar al-Sharia, which swears allegiance to al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula, seized control of several cities in Abyan province last year during a wave of protests that forced former President Ali Abdullah Saleh to step down.

Yemen's army drove militants from Jaar and the provincial capital of Zinjibar in an offensive seen as a breakthrough in a U.S.-backed drive to secure stability in the region.

It appears that a war with the Islamists is in full swing with the governments of any country that is not. Where are the moderate Muslims in this and why are they not pointing out the Islamists to the goverments?

Yesterday I read a report about a anti-jihadist comedian in Somalia who was shot dead, probably for speaking out against the Shebab (linked to Al Qaeda) insurgents.

People do not speak out in these countries for the same reasons people did not rat on the Mafia in its heyday in the U.S.: because they do not trust civil authorities ability to protect them.

I doubt that any of you are so puzzled by this silence would be loudly speaking out on anything if you thought you'd be killed within days for it, and that the murderers would walk away scot-free.

If you lived in a morass such as Somalia or Yemen, you be silent too, or you would soon be dead ...and silent thereafter.

This is such a waste of American resources. If we had not when into Iraq, all the violence and fear would not be at this heightened level. Americans, UN, and NATO need to let the Middle East repair its self without outside interference. No one wants any more Americans to die for no reason.

Where are the moderate Muslims in this and why are they not pointing out the Islamists to the goverments? [sic]

From the article:

A suicide bomber killed at least 25 tribal fighters when he blew himself up in the midst of a funeral... The bomber targeted tribesmen who sided with the Yemeni army during an offensive against Islamist militants that the government hailed as a major victory in June.

So, the answer to your question is that they were at a funeral and now they're dead, so they won't be pointing out any insurgents ever again. They spoke up, aided in the resistance against these radicals, and were decimated for it. Isn't Allah merciful?

"The bomber targeted tribesmen who sided with the Yemeni army during an offensive against Islamist militants that the government hailed as a major victory in June."

It is Ramadan time, a holy Islamic month. Is it permitted during the holy month to do suicide bombings and kill their own Muslims?

al-Qaida, Sunni Islamic religious warriors and jihadis, are leading these people!

So all the hoaxes of "moderate", "liberal", "secular", "socialists" and other label Muslims that Islam is a religion of "love", "peace", "charity" and so on are thrown into the dirtiest garbage dumps by themselves!

Whom are these people fooling in 21st century?

Add Sunni Saudi Salaffi ones too!

Followers of Islamic cult, especially Sunni Saudi inspired Islamic radicals and militants (al-Qaida, Salaffi, Wahhabi, MB, Taliban and other label ones), are fast marching backwards to their seventh century desert tribal days.

Mind you: Islamic radicals and terrorists, especially Sunni ones, have too many labels in different nations just like their Trojan horses in our nations.

One exmple: Amongst Taliban, in Pakistan and Afghanistan, they are Pakistani Taliban, Afghanistan Taliban and so on.

They are indulging in rapings, lootings, killings and genocides of non-Muslims (Darfur, S. Sudan, Nigeria and spreading like wild fire in many regions and Muslims (Mali, Iraq, Syria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yemen and other places.

Sunni Saudi backed Salaffi and MB new chapters are opening up in Egypt. Just watch the fate of Christians, women and Israel as the time goes by.

Even in Syria, if Assad is overthrown by Sunni Islamic religious Nazis like al-Qaida, MB, the conditions of Christians will be unbearable just like Iraq.

Are we not committing hara-kiri by supporting our enemies and killers?

I know majority of Americans do not want to believe that our government would ever invade a country for self reasons, but the truth is this Middle Eastern uprising is the US's fault, along with the UN and NATO for allowing us to do this. We, Americans need to let the Middle Eastern and African countries work among themselves without other countries using their governments or military forces. Americans seem to think it is okay to attack countries that have done nothing to us and let countries that we have problems with continue to conduct business with them (ie China and Saudi Arabia).

am I the only one who is caring less and less about this kind of "event"

at this point its just being selfish, blowing youself up doesnt bring change and in 2 years no one will remember the bomber or the people he killed so why bother wasting your time and life in the 1st place?

      Dumb.

The religion of death strikes again. If we wait long enough, perhaps all the muslims will kill each other off and then we won't have to worry about them killing us non-believers. Like in Syria, they are making great progress!

Due to the lack of evidence in this artical proving it was a suicide bomber this very well could be a obama drone strike.

Shiites and Sunnis are busy battling whose Allah is greater.

What roles Hillarys, McCains, Netanyahos, Libernanns, Romneys have in Syria, Iran and other Muslim nations?

By the by do these great warriors get 72 virgins for each of their killings? Any bonus for killing during Ramadan, Islamic holy month, time?

In this great religious battles, Muslims of all non-Muslim nations should go back to one of the Muslim nations and fight the battles.

They can close all their mosques. It will save lots of resources, which they can use in their battles at home.

After deciding whether they will have Sunni Sharia laws or Shiites Sharia laws, they can be a bit free. Or else they will be failing in their religious duty and they will become non-believers!

It is only matter of time before some mullahs and Isalmic scholars will declare that these Muslims of non-Muslim nations have become traitors to Islam and have hid when they were needed most!
