Officials say masked gunmen have killed 16 Egyptian soldiers at a checkpoint along the border with Gaza and Israel. NBCNews.com's Dara Brown reports.
At least 16 Egyptian border guards were killed and seven wounded in an armed attack on a police station in Rafah, in North Sinai on the border between Egypt and Israel, on Sunday, medical and security sources said.
Egyptian state television reported that an Islamist militant group was behind the attack that came at sunset.
The Israeli military said the attack was part of a plot to abduct an Israeli soldier. Two vehicles commandeered by the attackers crashed into Israel, where one blew up and the other was struck by the Israeli air force.
In a statement, Israel's Defense Minister Ehud Barak said Israel's military and the internal security agency "thwarted an attack that could have injured many. The militants' attack methods again raise the need for determined Egyptian action to enforce security and prevent terror in the Sinai."

Egyptian state TV said the attack on the checkpoint was carried out by Islamist militants who coordinated with Palestinians who entered Egypt from Gaza and Egyptians in Sinai.
Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi called for an urgent meeting with the country's military council. He said the attackers "will pay dearly."

Israeli government spokesman Ofir Gendelman said seven militants were killed, four on the Israeli side and three in Egypt.

A picture released by the Israeli army shows a vehicle burning near the Kerem Shalom border crossing after unidentified gunmen crossed into Israel from Egypt late Sunday.
Israeli soldiers were combing the area for other militants who might still be on the Israeli side of the border. The military instructed Israeli civilians to stay inside their homes.
An Egyptian military official said Egyptian troops were pursuing the militants who returned to Egypt.
Egyptian officials have been warning of a deteriorating security situation in Sinai, where militants have taken advantage of a security vacuum in the area following the uprising that toppled longtime President Hosni Mubarak last year.
Since Mubarak stepped down, Israel has allowed Egypt to send in more troops to Sinai, which has been mostly demilitarized according to the 1979 peace deal between the two countries.

Looks like Obama's agenda in the ME is rolling right along...
Yes. It appear that the elected government in Egypt is treating this as a terrorist attack by Islamic fundamentalists, and not supporting the terrorists as the anti-Obama folks have been telling us. Sorry Michelle Bachman, looks like the Muslim Brothehood is also against Islamic terrorism. You'll need some new group to vilify now for political purposes ... you can always go back to bashing gay people ... maybe they are trying to infiltrate the government.
What should have he done in Egypt? Prop up a elderly dictator and supply him even more arms to shoot down the people in Tahir Square? Mubareks army was having none of it. Don't the people of Egypt have the right as we do to decide exactly what type of government they want? Yes a lot of nutty Islamists running around with guns playing army and shooting. Been to any area where are "militias" are "training" here? Some states/people in the ME will achieve democratic governments and some will not. Just like the states of the former Soviet Union. The Baltic states have achieved it. Belarus has slipped back into dictatorship. While Russia in somewhere in between. It is sure folly to believe that any country including the US will control what happens there. Even if the president wears "magic underwear"!
Bush's policies were a whole lot better, weren't they? How many thousands of our young people did we lose in his pointless war? And wasn't tracking down bin Laden part of his plan, too? Who had to do that for you right wingers?
At least so far there is still cooperation between Egypt and Israel to try and combat these fanatics. Israel has allowed Egypt to move more troops into the Sinai to try and maintain order even though this is against the agreements in the 1979 peace treaty. I just hope that these attacks are not being staged by the Egyptian government s an excuse for a military buildup in the Sinai as a prelude to an attack against Israel. I do not trust Morsi or the Muslim Brotherhood and they have a long way to go before they have demonstrated that they can be trusted. Until then, Israel must keep a close eye on the military buildup in the Sinai to make sure that it is only about maintaining order in the face of these attacks and not a prelude to something else.
What you people don't realize is the "new government" has basically no power. If anyone should be accredited with keeping stability and continuing to work with Israel, it should be the military council.
CAIRO — Egypt's military rulers are committed to a quick transition to
civilian administration, two leading U.S. senators said Sunday after meeting the
general who heads the ruling council.John McCain, R-Ariz., and John Kerry, D-Mass., visiting Egypt at the head of
a U.S. business delegation, said it is in America's national security interests
to see the uprising that ousted President Hosni Mubarak succeed.
They said Washington is not interested in dictating policy to Egypt. Instead,
the focus is on finding ways to help the Arab world's most populous nation boost
its economy and address the needs of its people.

Egypt Military Wants Civilian Government
What a lot of BS. Morsi probably sent them and even if he didn't, he surely sanctioned it.
Some of you don't know a thing about what has and is happening in Egypr since the Arab summer. While the muslim overthrew the president there the military still is and always has been in charge of the country. They are the ones who are keeping both sides in check and they still have an agreement/treaty with Irael to secure the border. The last thing the Egyptian army wants is a fight with Irael because they would get their asses kicked hard. That is why this uneasy peace still exist. The Egyptian politicians are mere puppets being controlled by the military there. They will walk the fine line and let the people think they have gained new freedoms while actually giving them nothing.
@Olivia Forever What world do you live in? Saddam attacked 7 countries, according to who the IDF and Heritage Foundation? ? expansionist policies? 2 million people are you including the war with Iran? - you are insane!
Please keep your propaganda to your John Birch conspiritist friends, there is no room in the real world for your outright lies.
Or you could just blame the jews. Some genius on Newsvine is going to, we know that.

ROTFLMAO!!!!!
Yeah, killing Osama certainly brought a screeching halt to all the terrorism in the world didn't it?
When will you limp-wristed Libbies finally learn Osama was nothing more than a figurehead for the past decade. Al Qaeda, the Taliban, Muslim Brotherhood has been growing despite his existence.
What, do you think Osama was financing all the terrorism for the past decades? Just look to Iran, Pakistan, Yemen, Russia and others for that legacy. Now that our boy-toy president has pulled everyone from Iraq and has given them our timetable for Afghanistan we'll truly see our efforts wasted. All so Barrack Husein can give the appearance of accomplishing something.
We have killed countless 2nd and 3rd in commands from Al Qaeda and the Taliban. Do you really think they are that disorganized? Why do you think Bush and Cheney said Osama wasn't a significant target. Yes, it was important to kill him, but it was purely symbolic for his involvement with 9/11.
Osama's been dead for over a year, yet the UK just spent over $1 billion on security against terrorism.
Terrorism is not one mans face on a WANTED poster. It's an ideology that will take decades to beat, with or without Osama Bin Laden.
Oh, by the way, we've lost twice as many troops under Barrack Husseins watch in Afghanistan than we did under Bush and still nothing has been accomplished. Where is your outrage about that?
Hypocrite.
StevenB, #1, very juvenile, there is no factual basis for that post, I'd expect to hear something like that in a schoolyard at recess, what are your aspirations when you grow up?
Steve, #1.1, as for anti-socialist Bachmann, she will probably go to her Wisconsin farm and collect more Farm Subsidy money, courtesy of the American taxpayers, GOP/TP, the party of hypocrisy and bullcrap.
JimSpense: I Agree, we got Bin Laden, so now we can dissolve the CIA, FBI, SEAL Teams and half the military. Last I heard the cops got the killer in Milwaukee, best dissolve the police force cause we don't need them now... JIM, this is EXACTLY how you sound to others...
As for Bin Laden, with taking him out the CIA got more Taliban intelligence in 1 swoop than any other mission, your simplistic view of things is very shortsighted according to the world stage, bombs are still going off around the world. You believe that because there will always be terrorists we lost so lets give up. Smart people say, while there is still terrorists we still need the protection....
haaa.. Ed's arse just got roasted by Olivia....
Hahahaha ... great spin there Main Stream Media. You we can depend on.
wakani
Perhaps you should go back to fox news. Where they admit that they are popular because they make up the news.
Musta hit a Kool Aide drinker's nerve? HAHAHAHA

Just stating a fact. Something you know nothing about.
Young lady what do you know about facts?
Enough of the "I know you are but what am I" already!
Troll alert. Bush league trolling is boring.
killings here killing there killings klillings everywhere. Ahh religion, aint it wonderful
@max; They are motivated by power and greed, and the desire to kill and destroy, under the guise of religion. This problem has been ongoing for over a year now. I posted over a year ago this type of problem on the border would only get worse, this is just the beginning, they will get across, they will cause mayhem unless Egypts upgrades their security on the border.
This is why Israel was right on the spot.
Oh and stephen b; This has nothing to with Obama. More to do with corruption of gaurds.
That had nothing to do with religion. It's about power and control.
Power and control is the cornerstone of religion.
"This problem has been going on over a year now" ... Seriously, a year? Maybe a year plus a few thousand. Yeah, nothing to do with religion. Only if Islam isn't a religion. Good, God, you people are f'ing brain dead.
yep pray hard, im with ya, 2000 plus years and counting........and boy are they kidding themselves if they think for a second religion has nothing to do with it........
@ blow hard;
The problems starting at the checkpoints in Egypt, not the problems in the ME, you are the one that is brain dead to take it that way. What you do not know is that most of these attacks are politically motivated under the guise of religion to regain power by Islamist. They are not truly fighting for Allah, because they are the attackers, something most do not understand,if you do not know of Islam. Moderate Muslims do not want anything to do with these people, as they are hijackers of their religion.
@ blow hard;
You post something as ignorant and hatefull as this, and you call others brain dead? Did you not realize we have Muslim congressmen? You are just as bad at preaching hate toward Muslims as Islamist are against you and I. Look in the mirror sir.
To blame religion is rather simple minded. There are lots of places where people of different faiths get along just fine. The problem is within humanity, not God. We desire something our neighbor has and find an excuse to justify our greed. In the Middle East the fight actually seems to revolve around real estate. Two different tribes want the same plot of land and won't share. Both claim greater favor in God's eyes, both condemn themselves. If not religion it would be national chauvinism, racial superiority, social justice, or some other excuse to go on fighting until one side gets sole possession of their little clump of earth.
Well just think of religion when they speak of global warming. What the Heck do they thing statred melting the Ice Age 20,000 years ago. Stupid people think of the earth in hundreds of years when it requires Millions. So if you live long enough, you might see another Ice Age. And to think these people drive cars. No wonder so many get killed.
"Egyptian state television reported that an Islamist militant group was behind the attack that came at sunset."
Great! Purifications and killings of Muslims during Ramadan, Islamic holy month" should be far greater!
If these people clean Islam with such small numbers, they don't deserve any virgins leave alone 72.
headhunter, it is about religion being used to control & rule others. To gather followers under fake beliefs & invisable beings. It is to have power over those who follows blindly in faith until death. They pick on the poorest & most ignorant of their population offering false hope & dreams of the after-life. Why else fear letting women be educated? The same reason Amercian slave owners & local governments made illegal to teach slaves how to read. Knowledge can be powerful.
You can believe religion or no religion as the cause but more people have been killed in the name of God than any other cause!
big
Amen! ®¿®
So these Islamist morons thought they could drive vehicles past an Israeli checkpoint and get away with it, good going "Achmed the dead terrorist".
So, how does the Egyptian Brotherhood like their own troops attacked by terrorists????? Quite ironic I would think!! Somehow I'm sure, Israel will be blamed for this?!?!?!?! NEVER AGAIN!!!!
Morsi, front end for Sunni extremist Salaffi, MB has opened a good account.
Iraqi wars jokes are being repeated in Syria, Iran and other places.
Still many stooges of seventh century desert mindset barbaric and bigoted Sunni Saudis & co, oil companies and their lobbyists are doing their cruel jokes again and again and want to decide the winners!
Shiites and Sunnis are busy battling whose Allah is greater.
What roles Hillarys, McCains, Libernanns, Romneys and other money chasers and Netanyahos (Jewish religious nut case) have in Syria, Iran and other places?
I truly believe that Muslims, even Muslim extremists, are smart enough to recognize that this whole Palestinian identity thing is just a silly charade. I'm sure they know that there is no such thing as a Palestinian people uniquely identifiable by culture, language, race, religion, or any other characteristic, other than having, at one time, occupied a portion of Palestine. They remember that it was just some Muslim Arabs who organized a little club in the late 1960's (led by an Egyptian) and then appropriated the name "Palestinian" for it. That is why Jordan, which represents the largest part of Palestine kicked that club out of their country in September, 1970.
The Muslim countries view the “Palestinian” club as convenient junkyard dogs to bedevil their enemies, but recoil in horror at the idea of actually having to live with them.
Of course they know. Of course they understand, they are not stupid. But as someone that has been there and see the horror, it is imply despiration. Of course they know they cannot win by throwing rocks at troops with M-16 machine guns, but they have nothing else. Until that is solved . . . . . . we have Obama.
Wakani, Because Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush I and Bush II solved it so permanently?
Don't forget Johnson, Carter, Kennedy and Truman
Palestinian people and culture have existed for thousands of years. You can find references to the Palestinians going back to roughly the 5th century BC. Not sure how you can say that they're a made up country or culture? As an FYI, Newt and his buddy Sheldon are not a reliable source. You may know them as Philistines from the Bible.
And their rights to the land are the same as the Israelis--given to them by the very same UN declarations which created the state of Israel. Only difference is that now instead of having nearly half of the land, they're begging for 22%. It's not in Israel's interest to have peace until they steal even more land from the Palestinians.
I gues you weren't around, unsami, when Clinton brokered a deal to give the Palistinians 95% of what they wanted. Know what happened? The dirtbag of all dirtbags Arafat, nixed the deal because he wouln't have their cause anymore to use as a bargaining chip (not to mention millions given to him by other countries most of which went into his pocket). You really should do a little more study on the area.
umsami - your opinion is at odds with Arabs in a position to know:
"There is no such country as Palestine. 'Palestine' is a term the Zionists invented. . . . Our country was for centuries part of Syria. 'Palestine' is alien to us. It is the Zionists who introduced it." — Local Arab leader to British Peel Commission, 1937
"There is no such thing as Palestine in history, absolutely not" — Professor Philip Hitti, Arab historian to Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry, 1946
"It is common knowledge that Palestine is nothing but southern Syria." — Ahmed Shukairy, United Nations Security Council, 1956
One of the reasons arabs got paranoid about the word Palestine was that originally, the Romans, several thousand years ago, when they overran Israel renamed entire areas and cities. Israel was then called Palestine, by the Romans.
The word was commandeered by arabs in 1966 or so. the arabs that call themselves "palestinians" are not allowed medical care, cannot own land, or businesses, in the arab countries where they reside in squalid camps. However in Israel, the "palestinians", can own land businesses, have free medical, courtesy of Israel.
In fact about 80% of Jordan are Palestinians, except they can only vote for minor officials, and the entire country is run by the Hashemite Kingdom, courtesy of the Brits back in the 40's
The Palestinians, or Philistines as they are also called, were mentioned in the Bible (remember Goliath?) The Zionists, on the other hand, date back only to the end of the 19th century in Europe, yet they lay claim to the Levant based upon the word of a God that they don't even believe in.
Yes, Philistines were mentioned in the Bible as those who attacked the Hebrew kingdom. It says they ruled what's now Gaza, but were most certainly nowhere near Jerusalem, much less Judea or Samaria.
So, if you are basing the claims of Palestinians on the Bible, everything is done by the book.
AS for Zionists, they actually date back to the Hebrew kingdom. Ever since Romans destroyed it, Jews kept trying to get back to their land. Every time the land changed a master, the new master would try to cleanse it of Jews, but they would always come back. The biggest wave of returns was during the 16th century, under the rule of Ottomans. Feel free to research it.
Religion here, religion there, I think we oughta outlaw religion. How can anybody go to church and pray knowing how hypocritical their religion is at every turn. I guess people are totally lost these days, they have no interest in doing anything but watching TV and criticizing.
Appears they're doing something in the Middle East.
The quest for purpose of being is as old as mankind. "Religion" is a natural byproduct of that quest.
Religion was outlawed in USSR. Believe me, you guys would not want to live there. People don't really need religion to kill each other, it's just one of many convenient excuses.
So now Israel has to worry about Militants out of Egypt? This bodes well for them.
I'm assuming that in a more complete news story there would be some sort of condolences by Israel for the lives of the Egyptian boarder guards killed, etc.
I don't envy Morsi's job. Egypt's economy is in ruins--and it has a very large, very poor population who wants immediate changes. Good luck.
Sounds like the situationn here in America. No one blames our leader either.
These guys never learn...they should have a reality TV show (not sure of the title) with cameras following them through each stage. I'd love to hear the motivational speech, gotta be a humdinger! "Okay guys, we're gonna attack that Israeli Army outpost over there". "We'll charge through the three layer minefield and sneak through the night-vision, electronic, electromagnetic, sound phone, seismic monitors covered by three layers deep concertina razor wire, past the patrols with dogs and then attack against the bunker-ed Israelis with close air support and arty on-call". "Good, everybody got that clear?...any questions?". I got it, a name for this show..."No Survivors".
lmao RTC that was funny as hell.....................
Here are some of the actions taken by the military rulers and the Muslim Brotherhood rulers of Egypt that contributed to this tragedy:
After taking over from Mubarak, many Islamist who were in prison, including many MB leaders who are now controlling Egypt either escaped and/or were released from prison.
Thousands of radical Muslims who were exiled or escaped prison terms, were pardoned and allowed to go back to Egypt.
Egypt opened all borders with Gaza, and allowed Palestinians to Enter Egypt without visas.
While many reports indicated that Islamists want to establish an independent state in Sinai, as a first step towards liberating Palestine, the Egyptian Government did not try to take care of those radical Muslims moving into Sinai and prevent them from forming alliances with Sinai's tribes.
Some MB leaders in the Egyptian Government declared that they wanted to liberate Jerusalem, and were not clear about their position on the Camp David treaty.
The fact that this cowardly attack happened while Muslim soldiers are breaking their Ramadan fasting, should open the eyes of moderate Muslims that this plague of radical Islam should be stopped before it destroy the country.
I second Olivia, Coptic Christian. You bring us valuable knowledge that we could not read elsewhere. Thanks!
Thank you Olivia and Kannin. I Have tried for some time now to report the facts that are either missed or ignored by Western Reporters. I believe that any meaningful discussion should maintain a reasonable balance between reporting the facts and stating our opinion. But unfortunately, in many events, especially those happening outside the United States, our MSM do not usually report all the facts.
And yet you site no source for your claims Coptic.
It that because they are FOX news and Drugde Report and you would be laughed off the board?
Let's see your sources.
And for that matter, let us see the sources of the other John Birchers.
Ed my sources are what was published in Arabic in Egyptian newspaper. I know you wouldn't be able to understand a single word in Arabic, so here's the story as reported in the English Edition of Al Ahram
http://english.ahram.org.eg/NewsContent/1/64/49660/Egypt/Politics-/UPDATE---Egyptian-soldiers-killed-at-Israel-border.aspx
On the other hand, if you can get a translation of this article, here is the story in Arabic with readers comments. So instead of mindlessly attacking conservatives, do your homework and go to the source.
http://www.ahram.org.eg/Incidents/News/164306.aspx
Coptic Christian and facts prevail over Ed-1131119 and mindless insults. Yay!
@Coptic Christian. You may notice @Ed & IMHO have never sited a source. Just a couple of Bully's!
I think 'soldier', as most people understand the word, refers to a member of a recognized military organization. Typically, these 'soldiers' would be easily identifiable by their uniform attire which allows them to identify members of their 'side' of a military incident.
The use of the term 'Muslim soldiers breaking Ramadan' is a misnomer where this attacking organization is nothing more, nor less, than an Islamic terrorist group. But, I think your point is well made CC.
Seattle Sunshine, I don't understand exactly what you are saying, but what happened was that regular Egyptian Border Crossing Soldiers were eating their first meal of the day at sunset, when they were attacked by terrorists who killed 15 (or 16 according to a later report) of the soldiers. The purpose of the attack was to take over Egyptian military vehicles and use them to attack Israel. The terrorists took over two vehicles from the camp and tried to cross the border to Israel. One of the vehicles exploded at the border and the other one was destroyed by the Israeli's air-force, The most recent report said that Israel found the bodies of seven dead terrorists.
Wonderful how the NBC News Service can write a story about Terrorism, Where the terrorists attempt to blow up civilian targets and attempt to kidnap civilians.. And then continue to describe them as "militants" over and over again? And make it seem that those that thwarted the civilian attack, were the "killers" themselves?
Obama doesn't allow them to call these people terroroists. It isn't NBC's fault. They have to go along with the White House propagandist that programs their news for them.
Mr. Mursi, what you do or don't do now, will now define who you are. I am very curious to see.....
Looks like those wonerful Palestinians that the liberals are always defending against the Jews that they hate so much are not so peaceful after all. Maybe Egypt will now join with Israel and drive them back into the desert from whence they came. Won't happen under the present Muslim in the White House of course.
Communists definitely support the Palestinians. I am a socialist, like many of the European Jews who founded Israel, and I support Israel. I don't know about liberals, b/c I am not a liberal. Obama is way too far right for me, and Romney is WAY, WAY too far right. Watermoon needs to look at the leftist influence in Israel's founding fathers and mothers. Certainly not communist, but definitely socialist.
Moon, as one that I would perceive as a near perfect idiot, I find that you are right up there with my best friend of over 44 years.
Get over it brother, if the President were really a Muslim, there would already be a very large assortment of monogrammed prayer rugs available in the White House gift shop; you might even find them in some fine Hawaiian prints.
What the hey Jose , the Muslims ain't got nothing over on the Mexican drug cartel. I wonder what the body count in Juarez is this month?
One day the Jews of Israel will have no other choice but to use their nuclear arsenal on these maniacal practitioners of the "religion of peace".
World go BOOM
Dec.21 is just around the corner.
I'm tired of living through all these "End of the World" dates.
Want things to deteriorate quickly. Vote for this POS radical right wing cracked teanut dunce.
All braindead pathetic right wing radical cracked teanuts should listen to your leaders.
Rick the Dick Santarium has brainwashed his followers, the evangelical Children of the Corn zombies and the gay rapist, pedophile catholic priests that lyin' Willardo is a member of an evil cult and is the anti-christ. He also told them that lyin Willardo is the worst person in history to ever run for the presidency, can't be trusted and will destroy our country. Groper Nutquist, the boss of the right wing cracked teanuts and Nut Gingerhead, the criminal lobbyist, totally agreed with the last three assessments.
So most of the evangelical sheep will probably stay home on election day or some may even vote for Obama. They are totally scared to death of lyin Willardo, the Mexican Mormon Moron tax evader, bankrupter, job outsourcer, draft dodger and Etch A Sketch champion.
If this repuke tax evading draft dodger ever became president, and war broke out in the middle east, he will be putting his dog on the top of his car and fleeing to his birthplace in Tijuana and hide in one of his 4 grandmammy's (pappy's side only) outhouses.
Life2, they talk a good game, but all they want is the freedom to loot and you can't loot high radiation areas.
Any reader here who is still “undecided” - Please re-read this hate-filled, bigoted post by Life2, a typical Democrat, and ask yourself: Are these the people I want running my country?
Kannin,
Is this 'Life2' babbling fool one who is amognst those for whom you might be willing to defend their freedom of speech? What's more, does anyone know what Life2 had to say?
Sunshine - you mean "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it" ?
To be completely honest, I am not that much of an idealist. I admire those who are, but personally I would just as soon see Life2 and all his ilk sink into the cesspits of their own hate-filled madness.
To Life2 your out look is not the kind this country of ours will ever see. You have no understanding of the world or the universe. Your rose colored glasses only hide the truth. Take them off smell the roses and see that the past three years of this current administration has draged this land of ours to the deepest abyss of wrong choices an wrong leadership.
Yep, you hit the nail right on the haid Kannin.
And, being equally as honest, I think that oath should be modified to read, 'defend if I agree with you!' It would be so much easier that way, we might even get more people to take that oath.
This isn't good news for the region and international shipping....I hope they step up security measures fully and soundly and death or detainment to all terrorists no matter the cause.
Be at peace Artie, the region and its international shipping will be very much as intact as it has always been. Many, many hundreds of camels are waiting to go back on the trade routes in all of the middle east.
For all that is known at this time, the "Terrorists" could have been "Egyptian Jews" as was the case many years ago when the Israeli government attempted a False Flag attack and where actually caught in the act. A number of the "Terrorists" were apprehended and admitted to being Egyptian Jews recruited by Israeli Intelligence, and that the purpose of the attacks was an attempt to sway British and US policy against Egypt. I will look up the year and the specific target, which one of, was a movie theater full of American, British and Israeli citizens. Please do not react by calling me anti Semitic or a racist in any way. I simply have an interest in History and I had read about this not that long ago, although the year and some specifics, I will have to look up, and it is true. False Flag attacks are a relatively common tactic of governmental intelligence agencies.
It seems that it is also a preferred tactic of Allah's followers Daniel, I hope you didn't overlook that part.
The False Flag attack occurred in the 40's when the Jewish Population in Egypt was approx. 75,000. The current population is estimated at less than 100. One major newspaper's estimate is a few dozen. Most of these people are elderly. Extremely unlikely that this population would participate in a False Flag attack.

The area is way to convoluted. No body is right if everybody is wrong. They cannot go back to square one. The only thing Egypt can do is go into locked down. The so called Palestinian areas are in such a state that it is easy for outside influences to help create distrust and discord that leads to attacks against Israel who retaliates. And now we can watch Egypt go the same way. This is nothing more than the results of fear, hatred, and ignorance.
Is this 'fear' something that is their free choice or perhaps something that has been forced upon them by Islamic terrorism?
the UN resolution that created Israel did not create a "Palastinian" state. It left a dead space between Israel and Jordan and the Gaza strip between Egypt and Israel but did not name the two areas. When the "Arab League" attacked Israel in 1956 some of the Sinai, prt of the "Strip" and the West bank were lost to Israel, when they tried again this time with Syria helping, the "6 day War" they lost all of the west bnk, the Golan heights, and all of the Sinai to Israel. The Philestines who occupied the coastal areas of ancient Israel came from the north, possibly from Turkey/Persia at the time. Different roots and weapons of iron not bronze, enabled the Phillistines to cut out prt of ancient Israel and hold it for several generations, until the coming of David, King of Judah/Israel.
the peoples that Israel took the "land of milk and honey" from were of several ancient tribes. Asserians, Cannonites, Amorites, to name a few. look it up in your orld history or the Bible. its all there including the commands to leve no two stones together and to kill every man, woman and child, beast ot the field and fowls of the farms. there was no one left alive once the "children of Israel" passed.
Nobody cares about facts gary.... what's wrong with you brother? Not that I care but, just who was it that 'commanded' the children of Israel? Was this in a Texas state approved history book or some other trustworthy and reliable source?
The UN resolution that created Israel offered to also create a Palestinian state, but the Arabs refused that offer, and started a war instead. Now, Palestinians are paying for their choices.
As for oh-so-horrible massacres in the Bible, that is how things were done back then. Jews are not the ones who tried to bring ancient habits into today's world. That's why Palestinians are still alive and welcome to live as a civilized nation, if they ever choose to.
The Russians are handling this well. Clearly they understand that the muslims wont appreciate the help/assistance, regardless of who wins, so why bother.
Simply
Damn smart ME policy.
it was Obama that invited the Muslium Brotherhood to become involved in the Egyption government. Then thru corruption and under the cover of "moderates" The Brotherhood got themselves elected (with the backing of the Obama lead CIA) . One of the 1st statements of the brotherhood was to call for the nation to get ready for war with Isrial!
Obama works very slowley but forever creeping favoritism to the radical Islam philosphy. I saw a interview with the Reverend Jaramia Write that said Obama was more a believer of Islam than christian. I would not care but we are seeing there laws creeping into the ultral cities like new york, Obama is very dangerous and is laying the ground work for the demise of the US. He says he cares about the middle class but passes legislation that hinders job growth, he passes higher corporate taxes wich is done under "being fair" but it hinders job growth ect ect could go on but this is not the topic. I believe Obama is laying the ground work for the introduction of socalism and Islam into america, Neither must not be allowed to happen!!!
