Police find severed human head, foot in park near Toronto

Canadian police are searching for body parts as well as answers after finding a severed female head in a local river on Thursday, near where hikers found a severed human foot the previous day.

Police said the body parts were believed to be those of an adult but they could not confirm they belonged to the same victim until DNA testing was complete, The Toronto Star newspaper reported

However, "common sense tells us this is most likely related," police spokesman Randy Cowan said. "Without a cause of death we can't call it homicide, but certainly foul play -- there's definitely something amiss."

Hikers found the right foot, which police think belonged to a woman because its toenails were painted with yellow polish, in the Credit River on Thursday in Mississauga, a city of 700,000 people west of Toronto.

Police found the head in Mississauga's Hewick Meadows Park later on Thursday.

"We'll be looking for the entire victim," Cowan said.

Second gruesome discovery
It was the second gruesome set of discoveries in Canada in less than three months. In June, body parts were mailed to schools and political parties, prompting an international manhunt for the suspect.

Fugitive Canadian porn actor found in Berlin reading about self

Police said the body parts, along with a decapitated head found in a Montreal park in July, belonged to Chinese student Jun Lin, allegedly dismembered by porn actor Luka Magnotta.

Magnotta was arrested in an airport in Berlin and deported to Canada. He is accused of killing, dismembering and cannibalizing Lin -- believed to have been his lover.

I seriously considered a bad joke about " She wanted to get ahead, but when her foot caught in the door the Canadian health care system had to dispose of the evidence of incompetence", but I thought it might be a bit too soon.

I'm reminded of an old story where a man was killed, and the description of the crime scene mentioned that his left testicle was found over a hundred yards from his other body parts. The official word was " Police SUSPECT, that this MAY HAVE BEEN, a brutal murder".

It's the remnants (ha ha ha) of a Muslim honor killing! How much you wanna bet I am right?

Some Muslim girl that got too "westernized" for her family and relatives to stand for! It happens all the time in the UK! Coming soon to the States!

Dear authors (of the article), magnotta was arrested in an internet cafe, not in an airport.

I guess someone lost their head when they couldn't find their foot.

Well of course it was severed in some way, whether ripped off, sawed off or decayed and fell off. Otherwise it would still be attached to the body. When are these authors going to start proof-reading their articles?

Your first mistake was thinking that these reporters have more than a third grade understanding of the English language. I find errors constantly and sometimes I even send a note to the author about the error and they do respond and do correct but it's a losing battle. And they don't know what a spell checker is either.

The worst was the time the writer said a Porch was speeding down the road instead of a Porsche

Pat-2643768. It is common knowledge that; It is folly to be wise, Where ignorance is bliss.

That was a Typo; the writer was sitting on his or her Asp in front of the computer. and THET is da truth. Wow I just gave spell check a HISSY FIT

Pat - I have ridden in that Porch. And, afterward, enjoyed a cool drink rocking on that porche.

                Gordon - Good job.

Men can wear nail polish, could have been foot in mouth disease, it's a real head scratcher. I'm glad they will be looking for the rest of the body, then they can piece together all the evidence. So sad for the victim.

Question, what is going on in Canada? Are they like fleshing eating zombies? Just wondering if I went to Canada, would I be dinner? Just wondering, ain't sure but maybe their winters are too long. When you go to a diner, do the announce "Donner, party of 1, your table is ready". I know this is in "poor" taste, but what's up with the guys north of the border, have then been hanging out with us?

Hmmmm... I don't know I'm thinking having your body chopped into different pieces just MIGHT be the cause of death. I don't know? Call me crazy! I've also never heard of a human being who can stay alive to cut off their limbs... Just sayin'!!

Ok- what's the difference between a severed head and a decapitated head? Kind of like reading a story about "an armed gunman...." What? Do you mean instead of an UNARMED gunman?

Way to go Canada.Take away all guns and it will stop violent crime; Yea right. I have two Cousins in Toronto, both retired Police officers She over 20 years him over 33 years, ( some in Homicide) both had to turn in their guns when they retired. Those Odd Jerks do not even trust their own Police Personnel and they wonder why the crime rate is up, perhaps it is because the criminals have no fear, Ya Think ? And no murder here severed head and foot ? Must be sewer-side. Yea it was done in a cesspool called Canadian Law. Almost as good as their Nationalized Medicine.

Is there a law in Canada that there must be a Tim Horton's on every street corner? Just like Starbucks in Seattle (and there are two Starbucks at some Seattle intersections!)
