Canadian police are searching for body parts as well as answers after finding a severed female head in a local river on Thursday, near where hikers found a severed human foot the previous day.
Police said the body parts were believed to be those of an adult but they could not confirm they belonged to the same victim until DNA testing was complete, The Toronto Star newspaper reported.
However, "common sense tells us this is most likely related," police spokesman Randy Cowan said. "Without a cause of death we can't call it homicide, but certainly foul play -- there's definitely something amiss."
Hikers found the right foot, which police think belonged to a woman because its toenails were painted with yellow polish, in the Credit River on Thursday in Mississauga, a city of 700,000 people west of Toronto.
Police found the head in Mississauga's Hewick Meadows Park later on Thursday.
"We'll be looking for the entire victim," Cowan said.
Second gruesome discovery
It was the second gruesome set of discoveries in Canada in less than three months. In June, body parts were mailed to schools and political parties, prompting an international manhunt for the suspect.
Fugitive Canadian porn actor found in Berlin reading about self
Police said the body parts, along with a decapitated head found in a Montreal park in July, belonged to Chinese student Jun Lin, allegedly dismembered by porn actor Luka Magnotta.
Magnotta was arrested in an airport in Berlin and deported to Canada. He is accused of killing, dismembering and cannibalizing Lin -- believed to have been his lover.

so shes a head by a foot.
so she is ahead by a foot
Ummmmmmm......was the foot a left or a right foot?
Had to be an American killer. Canada doesn't have any. But, I will have to protest the "sexual profiling" statement about the yellow painted toenails belonging to a female. Coulda been any number of fem-males.
Joe, that's why they are holding judgment on what gender the foot belongs to. I guess the reason they don't suspect a homicide is that there are plenty of bears in those parts. That could have been all that was left behind...Anyhoo, very disturbing. They have had plenty of incidents of body parts washing up. Makes us wonder if there is dirty work afoot (no pun intended there--it's not funny).
Just put 'em in the lost and found with the others, some body will claim them
Wow! Randy Cowan is a SMART dude!..."cant call it homocide...foul play? definitlely something amiss!?? Sure, it was an accident. This woman fell onto a chain saw and then threw her head and food somewhere else. Must have been a suicide gone wrong, LOL!
Just when you think that no place is more ridiculous than the USA Canada rears its ugly head! LOL
was the foot in the mouth?
Serial Killer?????????????? I think so. But then again. Who am I to say..........
I sincerely hope all the mental midgets making jokes never have to hear this kind of levity about any of their family members.
ignorance is rampant
f*ck off @sshole!
Ok, What's up CANADA....there is so much *beheading* finding so many heads around the country... what's the difference of *Homicide vs Foul Play* ?? haha
can't wait for the autopsy to give me the definition~
Wow, the police officers words and I quote. " Without a cause of death we can't call it a homicide, but certainly foul play---- there's definitely something amiss. So I guess a bear severed the head and foot with a saw and ate the torso.
HUH?! Maybe the cause of death was DECAPITATION?!
How can anyone possibly say this wasn't a homicide?!
Only if she was eaten by a bear.
How can things be so "amiss"? They have such great gun control laws.
Where there is smoke there is fire; I read an article some months back about feet being found still in there shoes floating in a Canadian river or one of the islands. I thought it was strange to read such an article but their police department talked about the incidents so casually. Canada has a serial killer and they need to put their citizens on high awareness.
I am guessing no one here is familar with Robert William "Willie" Pickton, this Canadian pig farmer killed roughly 50 women most of which he disposed of by feeding thier bodies to his pigs, wiki Robert Pickton and you'll find this typical behavior towards women in Canada. Fact is until recently Canada had the worst Women's rights violations in the world making it a haven for American rapist fleeing prosecution in the U.S.A. as rape wasn't a considered a serious criminal offense.
That's one sick way of makin' bacon.
The police say they dont want to call it homocide this is a sick individual looking to get attention we need to give these people that committ murder and are found guilty the death penalty otherwise more people will be murdered because the criminal knows he will only go to jail if they kill someone the system needs to change in order for it to work.
This is a just a case of unauthorized dis-assembly.
Kinda puts new meaning to the phrase, "eat me"
.....as quoted by Angelina Jolie upon hearing this news:
"I hope they can find the rest of her so she can recover and lead a normal life"
(Angelina Jolie - utter stupidity in speech for over 2 decades)
Yeah, that story about the feet with the shoes still on them floating around Vancouver died out real quick.
The editor claimed the story didn't have the "legs" to last very long.
Wow Canada is watching to many US Movies called Hostel....
The guy went out looking for a piece of ass and all he got was head.
No use for a head or a foot, but the body has many other parts that will fetch a bank roll in some parts of the world. Ya just never know.
Dimaria you are so misinformed!! Did you not notice they said this is the second time in 3 months something like this has happend in CANADA not in a province in particular but in the entire Nation. In the states something like this happens every 3 months or less in every state!
