RAWDON, Quebec - A woman drowned after being pulled under the water by a strong current while she was having photos taken in her wedding dress near waterfalls, Quebec police said Friday.
Sgt. Ronald McInnis of the Quebec provincial police said her body was recovered about four hours after she disappeared under the water.
The woman was married on June 9 and was having photos taken in her dress with picturesque Dorwin Falls as a backdrop in Rawdon, north of Montreal.
While she was being photographed with her feet in the water the dress became saturated with water, leaving her unable to stay above water, police said.

The photographer and an aide tried to rescue her but were unable to because of the weight of the dress, McInnis said.
She slipped under the water and her body was later recovered in a basin about 100 feet away by a diver, he said.
McInnis said family members were at the location Friday evening.

Tragically sad. I don't even have the words.
Neither did these incompetent reporters.
Hey there SinnFeinFun, your name says it all; and you have the audacity to refer to someone else as a MORON...the irony is SinnFeinFunny.....or not...
What kind of dress becomes so heavy when wet that two men cannot even drag her onto the bank? It seems she could not even stand under its weight, since they say only her feet were in the water and the weight pulled her down. Must have been an enormous dress, or one of those with like ten layers in them.
Also, justice came to Ireland in spite of the IRA's crimes, not because of them.
I think we need quick-release wedding dresses.
Marriage would've drowned her soon enough anyway. (and no, I'm not bitter. Just deliriously happy and independent).---I felt the need to add that since I will most surely be attacked, as all within these threads are.
Well, this is america, so I assume a lawsuit will be coming some time soon.
Hey Bill, it happened in Canada. Not America. And what law suit could be brought and against whom?
Bill Billington - last time I checked Quebec wasn't in the United States.
Vanity Fair?

you sound lonely....
well I can think of two words really fast

Hey Bill, I know you have already been enlightened by others about simple geography, but what the hell. Here's my 10 cents: Quebec is in Canada.
Just had to add.
PS They prodominantly speak French there. Just for future referrence
Bill's comment is just a reflection of the American public school system.
Hey JohnH - Don't blame this teacher for Bill's dumb comment!
When Bill was in my classroom, I taught Bill and the 37 other 15-year olds all about the US, as well as its neighbors. I had to tell Bill to get his head off the desk 3 times, then had to take his cell phone away, so he'd stop texting his gf and pay attention. When I asked them all to get a book off the shelf for our next activity, Bill told me to "go f**k myself", as he didn't need to learn this "sh*t", and was promptly sent from the room, so that the other 37 could learn in a peaceful environment.
Later, when I called home, I suggested that an adult ask Bill daily if he'd done his homework or if he had any schoolwork he should be working on. I was told that they "didn't have time" for silly stuff like that and that at 15, he was "responsible for himself".
Sure our public school sytem is flawed. As a teacher, I could talk for hours on this subject. Please don't allow the blame for Bill's ignorance to rest solely on my shoulders.
I can't reach Bill or his grandparents (who had their child dump Bill on their doorstep to raise in their "Golden Years"). I'll keep trying, though, because it's my job.
At least 37 of my students know where Quebec is and which language is predominant there. All in all, that's not a bad percentage (98%).
Now at 32, Bill wishes he'd paid attention in my class at 15. He can't understand why he keeps losing his job and why he only makes minimum wage. As I told the entire class back then, ignorance has its consequences!
(Sorry Bill, I don't know you, but thank you for good-naturedly taking part in my rant!!
Are they sue happy in Canada?
Nah, just bitter and jealous.
Before everyone attacks Bill, maybe he meant North America, in which case Canada will be included! Just a thought!
JMG-that was awesome!!!
Hey Lisa, Is that you ??
This is one of the saddest things I've ever heard. :(
If it wasn't her idea to stand in the water, then I can see where the family might have a case. More than once I refused to go in unsafe holes contractors dug for us.
Sad story. Very soon, here in America, after Vice President Ryan becomes leader of the GOP movement the news will longer be so inept. Married on June 9th, mother and child was killed.
Every sexually active woman will need to notify the government every time she did the deed and may possibly carrying a person. Once confirmed, the Egg Persons Agency will be notified. Failure to notify the said agency can result in a fine or imprisonment for carrying an undocumented person.
Abolish Roe vs Wade. Pass the Personhood Amendment.
Paul 'the handsome' Ryan for Vice President, for every woman wants that baby.
And, if your grand-daddy can be rich like Romney.....$PERFECT!
Actually, Canada is in America. North America is more than just the US... so if Bill being correct is a reflection of the US education system, what does that make the rest of you?
@NaughtyMossy -- no I'm not, not at all! You sound jealous.
Annie 322929,
You need a man?? I'll help. After all my name says it all..Boff her..I'll do you right
Annie - I would not think to call you bitter..... indifferent to someones loss, but not bitter. Marriage actually works for some people and some actually flourish within marriage just as some single people commit suicide from sheer loneliness.
It seems you have found happiness in solitude and thats a good thing. It would be a shame if you died in some tragedy and someone commented, oh well, she would have died from being a single cat lady. Not all single women are cat ladies anymore than are all married woman drowning.
The picture in your avatar speaks to the real truth. You are quite "non traditionally" comely proving inner ugliness springs forth. I would say about 60ish and single with 20 cats and 500 facebook friends you never venture out with in real life. You knew people would comment as such because they have figured you out correctly and you know this to be true. You are an A-hole and hopefully have not reproduced.
Could you please do the world a favor and stick to knitting cat sweaters and leave the web alone.
Meow meow meow meow...... I am sure you speak cat.. did I call you a name in catspeak?
I just had to add in Bills defense if only technically, Canada is in America, not the United States "of" America, but the U.S. is only a part of America ........... Brasil is also in America.... South America. Canada is in Northern America.
Seems we have a lot of people on here that were quick to correct Bill without googling geography themselves. Score one for Bill.
Before you brainiacs correct my spelling it Brasil....its Portugese.
Even more difficult choosing the right pics from the proofs. Would love to see the shots at the end of the photo session.
I wonder if the bride was wearing shoes. Not that it matters; she could have slipped on rocks with bare feet, as well as in high heels or flats. Also, if the dress had a train, that would have gotten soaked first and the water would spread through the rest of the gown. Sometimes you have to tell a photographer "NO" if an idea seems bad. I know it could have been the couple's idea to stand in the water, but usually these kind of location shots are the photographer's idea.
mmmmmmmmmmmmm so lets look at this america, north america thing...
If you were singing GOD BLESS AMERICA what piece of land would you be singing about? remember this is not twenty questions
No need to correct your spelling... just your grammar.
And I don't know where you're from, but most ignorant people here selfishly only refer to the United States when they say 'America'.
picture that bride standing in the water and a photographer on land is saying,,,to the right, to the left, hold your head up, turn your body thhis way all that because he is blissfully ignorant
Annie, kudos to you for being 'deliriously happy and independent' and marriage-free. However, all accusations of "bitterness" or "loneliness" aside (neither of which I would make the brash assumption of assigning to you or anyone I have never met), to make the statement that "marriage would've drowned her soon enough anyway" is painting with quite a broad and ignorant brush, and grossly insensitive to the bride's family and new husband, who are most certainly traumatized by this sad event.
While I will certainly concede that marriage isn't for everyone, there are some who are deliriously happy (and even independently so) in our marriages.
Annie-322924
of? i still think you sound lonely, and of this i have nothing to envy of how you can percieve such doom as a blessing.... lonely, and as if you said the words more to convince yourself... bitter.
<-Mossdog->
Sheesh!! Some pretty damn asinine comments have been made here and I just started reading the comments!!!!! Bitter women bitchin' abou marriage, others dragging politics in, many slamming others, some that didn't entirely read the article and made the "sue happy in the USA" remark to in turn be slammed for it, dozens of just uncessary, rude and inconsidrate remarks. WAKE UP people!!! A woman died on her wedding day!!!! THis is what they call a freaking "TRADGEDY"!!!!!!! Have some stinking respect and maybe just maybe have something to say regarding the incident!!!!!! THe most valid thing I saw was those that commented on the reporters LACK of writing a decent story!!!! Where are the details??? Who else was at the site of the accident??? Where was the groom??? Any details about the bride at all??? You know, like some human interest!!!! Something about her, the couple, the family etc...!!!!!
Did like Jokers' comment!! Well said!
annie322924-wtf are you talking about? go put on a heavy dress & stand in a river
Skrewedworld, please read the ENTIRE article. She was married in June. The pics were probably part of a glamour shoot that was part of the wedding package. Someone else said mother and child died. The article said only the bride, but she may have been pregnant, so some would say a child died also, and some would not. I am 64 , and no where near ready to find out if the religous or athiests are right. I find it sad that someone so young, and just starting a new chapter in their life did not have a chance to add more pages.

Sally, while we are dishing out orders like we own the place, stop trying to tell others what to do. Everyone has a right to speak his peace, whether you agree or not.
KevinS, Your attempt to defend Bill's off-topic and incorrect comment is a FAIL! Who needs to "google" anything to know that Canada is on the North American continent? What does that have to do with a litigious American culturee? Are Canadians somehow subject to US courts and lawsuits? No? Then his comment is pointless and so is your attempt to smugly defend it. This tragic event happend in CANADA. Try to stay focused...
That is just nonsense! The ONLY country in North or South America with AMERICA in its name is the United States of America. People from the USA are called AMERICANS not United Statians or whatever. When anyone anywhere in the world says thay are from "America" or speak of "America", there is no question that "United States of" is implied.
This story sounded a little weird. I mean, I will die trying before i let a girl drown in front of me.
nmaynard, by your ridiculous explanation that "Canada is in America-North America" Mexicans are Americans as well, seeing that they live in North America too. Or do they not count because they are brown and don't speak English?
How sad...I can't imagine...was she standing in the water with her dress or did she fall into the water?....
My thoughts exactly. Something doesn't make sense here. Her "feet" are in the water, yet she's pulled under? Sorry, but this story is far from believable without more facts. I don't care how strong the current is, if only your feet are in the water then you aren't going to be pulled under. Another example of reporting by lazy arses.
Advocate, did you even bother to read the article?
Yes I read it as well, what is your point? The story doesn't explain anything. I'm sure it is trash reporting outsourced to someone in a 3rd world country who scrapes up "facts" off the internet.
I was standing at the very edge of the Jersey shore a few months ago running out of the surf that was only to my ankles at the height of the wave with my child, and a bigger wave came that went up to my lower legs. I had to push my little girl up out of the wave to keep her from being pulled under. The undercurrent and that wave that only went to my lower legs knocked me down and my camera ended up in the water. If I had had on a wedding dress I'm sure I would have been pulled out to sea and pulled under. Maybe she wasn't at the edge of the ocean, but the currents can still be strong in streams and rivers, and anyone wearing a wedding dress is not going to stand a chance of swimming to the top.
How sad for the witnesses, the woman, and her family. No, the wording in the story wasn't the greatest, but this story is about the loss of a woman in an unusual way, and it is sad all around.
I would think that the construction of the dress -- lacey mesh allowed it to absorb water like a sponge.
A minute or two in the water is not a problem, but if she is in it for say, 15 minutes doing various poses, she may not have realized that the dress was slowly absorbing the water. She may have mistook her difficulty in moving to be weariness, until it was too late. By the time she realizes this 20lb dress now has 100lbs. of water in it, she can barely move in it. When she fell over, it was like being in a fish net with an anvil on top of her.
Not likely anyone would have forseen such a complication. This is precisely why you don't go swimming in blue jeans. Blue jeans absorb a tremendous amount of water and will make it very difficult to move your legs.
Well you guys must be blind ! As it states in the above article that she in fact was standing in the water and the dress started to get saturated making the dress heavy and if you knew anything about water you would know that with slippery rocks underfoot and a swift current you would only need a few inches of water to be swept off your feet. Now it is true this article is lacking pertinent info in my opinion the whole thing sounds very possible. And my prayers go out to her and her Husband and close family.
You cannot swim in jeans. I dove from a tree into a river when I was younger and the current was pretty strong. The jeans are @ the bottom of the river. You will loose them or drown. Awful story, prayers for the family and groom.
A "Trash the Dress" photo shoot is a pretty new but fairly common trend. It can be a photo shoot in water, mud, paint etc.. I have a feeling this may be what they were doing, rather than her just standing in ankle deep water. That is just a guess however. My condolences to the family.
"While she was being photographed with her feet in the water the dress became saturated with water, leaving her unable to stay above water, police said." And that makes sense? Any idea what is being explained? I understand that it was near a waterfall and that there can be strong currents there. But, saying her feet are in the water implies that the rest of her isn't. This isn't a case of a tide coming in and a wave splashing over her. She's either standing in the water at ankle depth or she is sitting out of the water with her feet dangling in the water. Under either scenario I don't see how any current could drag her under. Now, if she was up to her neck in water and the current took her, that's something different. But, that wouldn't be described as her "feet" being in the water. Nor does it say she took a step off a ledge to deeper water.
Think they'll follow up and giver real details like a real news report? Naw... not a chance.
Yes, Kitty, I read the article too. Why would you stand in water in your wedding dress to get a picture? The facts surrounding this aren't what are presented in the article, OR this lady wanted a picture so bad she was willing to soak a dress to get a shot. It would be far more believable if someone pushed her in the water instantly soaking the dress and dragging her under. It's hard to believe that she was waiting to get her picture taken and NOT thinking, "hey my dress is getting pretty wet and heavy...I better get out."
Look at the post further down with a link to the Montreal Gazette that was posted by homesick yank. It explains what happens.
Tommy,
Not true, it's very easy to swim in jeans...if you know how to swim. I'm a former high school swimmer and we used to do training sets fully clothed for the extra drag (Shoes and all). We're not talking just staying afloat. It was dozens of laps. Wedding dresses obviously are a lot more material and that material likely got tangled around her head, arms and legs. The question is how did she get to the point where she was completely submerged, especially with several witnesses on hand. Most likely not one of those people had a clue how to swim. As someone who has been in and around water all his life, and who is a former lifeguard, this story just seems a little odd to me. I have a feeling there's more to it that we're not hearing. Not saying anything sinister, but maybe there was some horseplay or even some drinking involved that lead to this happening.
This is sad, but not hard to understand.
She was standing in a river, not a swimming pool. Further shy was near a water fall, (I'm assuming below the falls since she using the falls for her back drop). The current would be extremely strong. I'd imagine that a non swimmer might be swept away under any circumstances. Now when you add to all of this a wedding dress and probably a train , veil and all the rest of that very heavy, restrictive "flowing" fabric, and well, this was a disaster waiting to happen. People get swept away by currents even with out all of that extra pull. To all of us artists out here, Not all "beautiful ideas" are safe ideas.
My sympathies to the family.
It could be she was standing in gravel, that the dress wicked the water up beyond the water level, that the current moved the gravel out from under her and down she went. Currents at the bottom of falls are treacherous, as are ocean currents, especially when the sand/gravel is pulled out from under your feet. Ankle deep water is not necessarily safe water if there is a current of any kind.
Sympathies to the family of the unfortunate lady.
What happens when a sponge touches water? It soaks it up! That is what I imagined happened here. The bottom of the wedding dress probably started getting heavy, pulling her over. Once the whole dress was wet, she was a goner.
Humans float...clothes don't. Many people drown because the clothes they are wearing when they go into the water weigh them down. Jeans, especially!
I was taught in a water safety class, that the first thing to do if you fall into water is get your shoes and pants off, as they are your enemy and will pull you under.
My condolences to her family.......such a tragedy.
For those who don't get it. Next time you have a good rain, put on a pair of jeans that are a little long and walk through the grass. Your jeans will quickly be wet up to your shins. Now imaginge standing in shallow water in yards of satin. Who'da thunk? Condolences to the family.
To Sad but not Surprised and others,
Fabric is heavy and bulky and it doesn't take much water to add so much weight that a person would have difficulty moving. As she stood in the water, the fabric got soaked, the water "wicked" up the dress making is even heavier. She may have slipped on the rocks as she tried to get out of the water. The weight of the dress and the current pulled her into the main water where the dress pulled her under. Remember that a wedding dress is heavy on its own, and satin gets heavier when wet. A wedding dress weights about 5 to 8 pounds by itself - plus shoes, slip, etc.
If you don't understand this, get a long dress and go to a lake and try moving in the water once the fabric get soaked.
This is terrible and the family will never get over it.
Ladies, if you try to recreate this accident at home, please take a sailor along with you.
Sailors are notoriously dependable for slipping a woman out of her clothes rather quickly.
A water logged wedding dress would be no challenge what-so-ever for one.
preposterous. everyone knows LRRP is the best in the bush. (Are they even still around?)
Why didn't they rip that dress off her? Just undo the back and keep hold of her hair. So she's embarrassed. She would be alive.
Of course, there are women I know who would scream and yell, maybe even sue if that was done to them.
Her husband had an huge insurance policy on her?
Why would photographers watch her drown?
The two pussies probably can't swim themself but still, i would never, ever let a person drown in front of me.
The husband did it
The husband? It's usually the butler who did it.
She was marrying the butler.
That's funny commonsenseaintcommon!
Commonsense, that is horribly funny.
The butler did it. - Still condolences to the loved ones left behind.
Based on her last name mentioned in the Montreal Gazette article (linked in a thread below), it's apparent she married a Greek. Greeks don't have a good safety record when it comes to managing things around water (especially cruise ships and ferries).
Side note: the Associated Depressed (AP) news agency sucks. My 7 year old niece can research and write better than the way this slop was pasted together.
What does it matter if she married a geek?
That Greek analogy went right over your head, didn't it? Short bus much?
What ? This is crazy
This is just so bizarre. The water wasn't even deep or particularly dangerous, her dress just got heavy and she slipped away from the rocks where she was....Here is the story in more detail: http://www.montrealgazette.com/life/fashion-beauty/Laval+woman+wearing+wedding+dress+dies+Rawdon+river/7142554/story.html
Thanks for posting this, homesick yank. I read the Montreal Gazette article, and the situation was clearer. It's very sad.
Yes, thank you. This is a much better article.
Other than a wedding dress being involved you'd never guess that the two articles were talking about the same situation. Someone is totally incompetent.
This article would have made so much sense if the writer had included the fact that the weight of the dress contributed to her falling into the water. I have met people who describe an event with so many holes and critical facts missing that you cannot make sense of what they are telling you. I suppose that for most people it really does not matter if they are poor historians, but a reporter/writer? Find another line of work!
It's a very sad reflection on both the state of NBC & American education that readers of the *news* here on NBC have to seek out a Canadian newspaper to get the full story! Does NBC have no standards for journalism anymore? None of the *facts* are even correct here b/c the story has been updated!
It's pretty sad and ridiculous when you have to read the posts to get the full story rather than getting it from the news article on NBC. NBC should be ashamed of themselves for such shoddy reporting.
Michelle...the key words in your comment were that NBC should be ashamed of themselves for shoddy reporting...add all day on every NBC "news" outlet.
The Gazette article definitely makes the picture much clearer. How exactly did the MSNBC writer get "being photographed with her feet in the water" from the fact that she had gone out to deeper water so she could be photographed floating/swimming in the dress? Incredibly incompetent reporting.
Read the link. Much better and far more informative article. She sounded like a cool lady and I bet she'll be very missed by all who knew her. My condolences to her family and freinds.
It would take a Canadian french woman for this to happen.
Normally I'd be a little upset at seeing this listed as national news, but I'll make an exception since it was a Quebecker.
I really, really hate Canadians, people from Quebec most of all.
Normally I would not comment on your post.
But I have to wonder.
Why could you even think or say such a thing?
I hope my post is collapsed with yours.
What a troll ahole.........
Hey, Bubble-brain. I live in Bellingham, WA., two blocks from the Costco in the story below. It's about some of our locals' opinions of Canadians. And these Canucks don't even speak French, eh. (They do, however, have poutine at their A&W drive-thrus.)
Actually, a great number of them speak Cantonese. British Columbians refer to the city in which the article was published as "Hong Kouver." They've got the best damn Chinese food on this side of the Pacific, too. But alas, they'll NEVER have a Stanley Cup. #FAIL
Enjoy, bubble-head. I know you will. Hey, sorry to read about your social disorder.
http://www.theprovince.com/news/Facebook+group+complains+about+Canadians+Bellingham+Costco/7080193/story.html
I retract that, it is sad that she died and it's not a fate to be wished on anyone.
I stand by not liking Quebecers, they're douches.
You hate, that is because you are a sissy, A lady is dead and this is what you post, you do not represent a human with compassion, I hope you have a long and painful life,Hater.
Liberal,YouExist...etc, etc,
No wonder your vicious comments were collapsed. Do you really think that anyone cares a bit about your hatred of Canadians? Rather, I'm certain that that great nation to the north is reeling in ecstasy to learn that you want nothing to do with them. It saves their government a great deal of money NOT to have to deport your ultra-sorry backside! Jeez!!
Great nation? Well, let's not get carried away.
Liberal, I bet they REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hate you too!!! You should be ashamed of your self!!!! Your not funny and if you THINK you are I know a good psychiatrist you ought to see.
Now that is really sad.
My condolences to the family and the husband.
Incompetent reporting. Did you outsource this story to a writer in China?
Was the woman walking on the water, or was she sitting on a dock, or a rock, or a surfboard or something? Was she wading? In a boat? This is worse than something a third-grader would write. In fact, I would have been ashamed to turn in a piece of crap like this in third grade.
If you were writing a story about Sept 11, 2001, would you merely write, "The World Trade Center towers both collapsed, and the Pentagon had a big hole in one side today," and leave out the circumstances?
SCHMUCKS!!!
Here's an idea...Don't come here and read the story's if you don't' like how they report them...SCHMUCK!
Warren, you are 100% correct. Ignore the stooge above. This is trash journalism.
"While she was being photographed with her feet in the water the dress became saturated with water, leaving her unable to stay above water, police said."
These guys are slick. Sometimes they wait til the fourth sentence to slip in a detail.
Warren, your vicious and idiotic slur toward the Chinese is completely unfounded. Can you consider growing up before you come to these fora and offer your pathetic posts?
Warren, she was definitely NOT walking ON the water like you said. Goose Fart.
So Cheetah, if I fill my tub with 3 inches of water and stand in it with a wedding dress on, will I too be pulled down to a watery death? Feet in water = about 3 inches of water. I could stand in 3 inches of water wearing a gown made of cotton batting and not be sucked into the water. Something else must have happened to cause her death.
BTW, the article in the Montreal Gazette actually explains what happened. And yes, there was more involved than just standing in a few inches of water. If you think this article was complete and explained the occurance, please do not become a reporter!
Oh, please! How exactly was that a "vicious slur"? Lighten up, you overly-sensitive fool.
Here is a thought. Why don't all of the people that have a problem with this news site just find other sites to read and get their news from? That seems like an easy solution. Then you won't be subjected to inferior reporting. Just a suggestion.
Condolences to her family and friends.
this is typical reporting for the sad petty little NBC.
Even more difficult choosing the right pics from the proofs. Would love to see the shots at the end of the photo session.
Reminds me of Victor Hugo's daughter. Soo sad.
"Old Treasure?" (nin mingzi)
RIP,, I'm sorry,,I'm PADI diver. If you fall off in cold(any) water wareing alot of stuff you will drown,,take them off,,
Then you can swim,,
RIP,,the WORLD IS going to HELL anyway,,,
Better place,,
tear the dress off??...i guess it was too difficult or something
I don't know what the wedding gown looked like, but most are very difficult to put on and to take off - many with numerous buttons or laces down the back.
As a repetitive bridesmaid i can say with full certainty that most wedding dresses require at least one or two people to get the bride dressed. Most brides also wear restrictive bustier or corsets as well as heavy underskirts/petticoats to give the dress shape. It would be almost impossible to get yourself out of that DRY, let alone in water. The skirts are simply too heavy.
You can't "tear" a wedding dress off. She didn't have a stunt double either. People watch too many movies and don't live in reality.
talk about bizarre deaths
Such a sad and tragic story! RIP.
They say marriage weighs you down
awfully funny.
lol!
Talk about unfortunate.
all because she wanted some photos by a water fall. Sad story, but thats just stupid.
Is this what happened to Natalie Wood when she drowned during the shooting of Brain Storm or was there something more? How sad for both of them and for their love ones.
Natalie Wood mysteriously died when she left a drunken party from a boat near Catalina in a small
dingy or raft, probably drunk. She wasn't shooting anything. Google her name they just did another
inconclusive investigation of her death.
Ophelia.
Oprah?!
No, Shakespeare!
This article is lacking in facts. Google the subject and you should find a better accounting of the events to read.
This takes getting cold feet to a whole new level.
We have a local state park, which is primarily a ravine feeding into the Ohio River. Each year, one or two people die in the park after ignoring the warning signs to stay away from the streams and waterfalls. The rocks are covered with moss and slimy lichen in these streams. Once you slip, the small amount of water will carry you over the falls. Falls ar 20' to 90' in height. Two of the falls have rock-strewn pool, the rest just have jagged rock. There is no access, other than foot, to the bottom of the ravine; so rescue times are typically 30minutes to an hour. Typical age of victims is 16-22.
This is sad that so few people care about this tragedy but just want to trade stupid barbs.
This is just sad. Something that should have been a fun outing turns into tragedy. I do have a couple of questions, though. How big was this dress? What kind of fabric was it made of? Cotton acts like a sponge while some synthetics don't absorb any water at all. And did anyone think to bring a rope or a float? I hate to sound cruel, but a little more planning and she'd probably still be alive.
I dont think they planned on going swimming , they probably didnt bring sandwiches or snow chains either .i presume you never leave the house without every precaution been taken.
This is just a tragic unforseen accident ,my sympathies to all involved.
Your missing the point, bollix. Stepping into a natural watercourse, especially in a wedding dress, without at least giving some thought to the conditions, is an invitation to tragedy. Oddly enough, people who prepare also tend to have better luck. I wonder why that is?
What no political jokes, here? I'm surprised!! Dumbasses
If she couldn't swim, why in tarnation did she get married in the water? And she obviously doesn't have much experience in taking her clothes off. Guess she was waiting until her honeymoon.
