This is a very sad commentary on the state of the education system in India that this man did not know about the atrocities committed by Hitler. I guess that in India kids are not required to study world history in school. If they were, I do not know how any coverage of WWII in the curriculum would not discuss the mass slaughter of innocent civilians carried out by Hitler and the Nazi regime. I am not defending the store owner but really it is ignorance on his part due to the way History is taught in junior school level in India where the pre WWII British were "badder" than any other coutry for Indians. Had the owner taken History classed in India at graduate level - he would have known about the 14million deaths. BTW Hitler had no issue about Indians (for reasons known to him) as he was the one who sent delegates (pre WWII) to understand the origin of Aryans and that is how he got familiarized with Swastika symbol. Why do you believe ALL the history books in the world follow the American/Western pattern ?? In India, all of World history is taught in 10th grade and that too in about 4-5 chapters. All of World War 2 is just one chapter of 20 pages. Indian history starts from the Bronze Age unlike America where it starts in the 15th with Columbus and they have a LOT to cover!

World War 2 is quite insignificant overall in Indian history because it was war Indians fought for the British, where as Indian freedom fighters were aided by the Nazi's and the Japanese against the British.
