Actually, no....oil hasn't flowed through the Suez canal since 1967 when it was shut down by the Six Day War. Oil companies quickly rerouted their tankers, and found it much more efficient to build ever-larger vessels to carry more oil...vessels so large that they won't fit through any canal, anywhere. They dwarf nuclear aircraft carriers, which most people think of as large vessels.

And the deployment of armor to Sinai was done with the approval of Israel, for suppression of radical elements that the Egyptia government dislikes as much as the Israelis do. Israel made a token public protest about the presence of 40 (that's four-zero; one battalion) of tanks a few miles too close to be border during the sweep of Sinai. We go where we want when we want in Afghanistan. We took the power from the Taliban and have given it back to the Afghans. They have had elections remember? I believe it is time to leave, not because we can not "conquer" or "govern" (we are doing and have done that)but because the people have not given us the full help and support we need and are slipping backwards, this will be to their detrement when the Taliban take back over,and there is no music,no school for women.
