American killed in Libya during protests about Prophet Muhammad video

NBC's Andrea Mitchell reports on the death of the U.S. ambassador to Libya in an attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi. The envoy is the first American ambassador killed on duty since 1979.

Updated at 5:22 a.m. ET: A State Department officer was killed after armed protesters stormed the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, furious about an amateur video that has been viewed as insulting to the Prophet Muhammad.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton confirmed the American's death in a statement on Tuesday evening.

"Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet," Clinton said in the statement. "The United States deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others."

The attack left much of the consulate burned, witnesses said, and came hours after demonstrators in Egypt climbed the walls of the U.S. Embassy in Cairo to protest the video.

In Benghazi, protesters from various groups joined together to pull down the American flag in the embassy's courtyard and tried to raise a black flag with the words: "There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger."

Protesters scaled the walls of the U.S. Embassy in Cairo and pulled down the American flag during a protest over what they said was a film produced in the United States that insulted the Prophet Muhammad. NBC's Richard Engel reports.

Once the U.S. flag was hauled down, protesters tore it up, with some showing off small pieces to television cameras. Then others burned pieces of the flag before riot police arrived. Most of the 2,000 in the crowd later left. Some reports said warning shots were fired.

The video, clips of which are online, shows a portrayal of the prophet having sex and calling for massacres, the AP reported. It was allegedly produced in the United States.

Egyptian media have been reporting on it for several days, with ultraconservative clerics going on air to denounce it.

"This movie must be banned immediately and an apology should be made ... This is a disgrace," said 19-year-old Ismail Mahmoud, a member of the so-called "ultras" soccer supporters who played a big role in the uprising that brought down Hosni Mubarak last year.

Esam Omran Al-Fetori / Reuters

The U.S. Consulate in Benghazi is seen in flames during a protest by an armed group said to have been protesting a film being produced in the U.S., on Sept. 11.

Many Muslims consider any depiction of the Prophet Muhammad to be offensive.

Filmmaker calls Islam 'a cancer'
Sam Bacile, a 56-year-old California real estate developer who identifies himself as an Israeli Jew and who said he produced, directed and wrote the two-hour film, "Innocence of Muslims," said he had not anticipated such a furious reaction.

Speaking by phone to the AP from an undisclosed location, Bacile, who went into hiding Tuesday, remained defiant, saying Islam is a cancer and that he intended his film to be a provocative political statement condemning the religion.

Bacile said he believes the movie will help his native land by exposing Islam's flaws to the world.

"Islam is a cancer, period," he repeatedly said in a solemn, accented tone.

NBC's Richard Engel reports from Cairo, Egypt, where a large group of protesters have been gathering since Tuesday's attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi that left the U.S. ambassador to Libya dead, as well as three others.

Though Bacile was apologetic about the American who was killed in Benghazi, he blamed lax embassy security and the perpetrators of the violence.

"I feel the security system (at the embassies) is no good," said Bacile. "America should do something to change it."

Bacile said the film was produced in English and he does not know who dubbed it in Arabic. The full film has been shown once, to a mostly empty theater in Hollywood earlier this year, he said.

Morris Sadek, an Egyptian-born Christian in the United States known for his anti-Islam views, told the AP from Washington that he was promoting the video on his website and on certain TV stations, which he did not identify. Early reports suggested Sadek had made the film, but this no longer appears to be the case.

Both depicted the film as showing how Coptic Christians are oppressed in Egypt, though it goes well beyond that to ridicule Muhammad — a reflection of their contention that Islam as a religion is inherently oppressive.

"The main problem is I am the first one to put on the screen someone who is (portraying) Muhammad. It makes them mad," Bacile said. "But we have to open the door. After 9/11 everybody should be in front of the judge, even Jesus, even Muhammad."

Romney slams Obama over attacks on US officials in Libya, Egypt

For several days, Egyptian media have been reporting on the video, playing some excerpts from it and blaming Sadek for it, with ultraconservative clerics going on air to denounce it.

Medhat Klada, a representative of Coptic Christian organizations in Europe, said Sadek's views are not representative of expatriate Copts.

"He is an extremist ... We don't go down this road. He has incited the people (in Egypt) against Copts," he said, speaking from Switzerland. "We refuse any attacks on religions because of a moral position."

But he said he was concerned about the backlash from angry Islamists, saying their protest only promotes the movie. "They don't know dialogue and they think that Islam will be offended from a movie."

An Egyptian state website carried a statement by Egypt's Coptic Orthodox church condemning what it said were moves by some Christian Copts living abroad "to finance the production of a film insulting Prophet Mohammad."

About a tenth of Egypt's 83 million people are Christians.

Embassy condemns those who offend religious feelings
The U.S. Embassy in Cairo had put out a statement earlier on Tuesday condemning those who hurt the religious feelings of Muslims or followers of any other religions.

Mohammed Abu Zaid / AP

Protesters destroy an American flag pulled down from the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Egypt, on Tuesday.

"We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others," the embassy said in its statement.

"Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy," it stated, adding that it condemned the efforts by "misguided individuals" to hurt the feelings of Muslims.

One slogan scrawled on the walls of the embassy, a fortress-like structure that is near Tahrir Square where Egyptians revolted against Mubarak, said: "If your freedom of speech has no limits, may you accept our freedom of action."

Reuters and The Associated Press contributed to this report.

US Embassy flag in Egypt torn down in Prophet Muhammad video protest

Thanks, Obama. Sure glad you got your Muslim Brotherhood in power. Presumably they will have some nice office available next January for someone with your skill and leanings.

Looks like Obama's new friends in the Muslim Brotherhood managed to orchestrate this nice show of 'friendship' to America!

And on 9/11 no less...

Kind of makes you wonder. Why is Obama so friendly with the Muslim Brotherhood. Weren't they considered until just recently to be dangerous terrorist supporters who had ties with Al Qaeda and Hamas?

This is nothing new to the Obamas. Remember in 2007 & 2008 he stated on national TV that he and his wife had attended 3 or 4 American flag burnings because they felt that the American flag was offensive to the Brotherhood? And then a majority voted for him knowing his wife was never in her life proud of the USA until he was nominated for president and he disliked the American flag and would never salute it. He also stated on TV that he wanted to change the Star Spangled Banner to I Would Like to Teach the World to Sing. And still they voted....

One thing people bashing Obama for this on this vine seem to forget is that the Egyptians voted the Brotherhood in, not Obama. We did not blindly go into this(helping liberate) thinking they were going to vote our choice into power.

Their choice is their choice, albeit as ignorant as it was, and is. I am not happy with Islamist running Egypt either, but that is their CHOICE, which is what we gave them. The actions show people with too much time on their hands, and no rationale or logic. Muslims are safer here in America than anywhere else in the world, hands down, they are ignorant to think that we are so prejudice. These actions surely do not help their cause.lol

Obama has been great on the war on terror. The ones that are downing Obama, and saying he is aligned with Islamist need to do their research.

The best interest of the American people is the last of their concerns. Surely our government will allow the thugs to repeal our Constitution and deny us freedom of speech because the Muslims want them to. What a disgraceful government we have in power today. If you want to know the truth about where Obama's sentiments lie just read his speech to the Muslim world given in Cairo in 2009. Tell me the terrorists aren't sitting halfway across the world, salivating at the deterioriation of the solidarity of the American people. The extremist Muslims are an unforgiveable bunch, but at least they have solidarity. If it comes down to US citizens having to fight on our own turf one day to defend this country, I do not trust we will have the same.

And before you embarrass yourself with a clever comment about how "Yeah, cuz the Odumbocrats will be siding with the Muslims" or, "Yeah, because the neo-nazi cons will use it as an excuse to kill all dark people", please shut-up and recognize the people who give this country a real chance to survive a chance see through your mainstream media programmed garbage and are honestly not impressed by your weak-minded puns/slogans.

@ Gary;

And this group of thugs is the group our government supported when they betrayed our friend Mubarak?

Umm no, the people of Egypt ousted Mubarak, not Islamist, so we never supported any Muslim Brotherhood, nor do we now. You get voted up on wrong information, we nor Obama never supported a group of thugs, we supported a people to get rid of a brutal dictator, who shared the the same enemy as we, umm the ISLAMISTS you know. Mubarak was not a "true friend", he was simply an enemy of our enemy so we looked the other way at his crimes until the people took a stand, we dumped him and helped the people not Islamist.

It is the old an "enemy of my enemy is my friend" Get your facts straight sir.

Surely our government will allow the thugs to repeal our Constitution and deny us freedom of speech because the Muslims want them to. What a disgraceful government we have in power today

This is simply an ignorant statement. This administration is kicking the terrorist arses daily, and getting better at it by the minute. Obama has approved many missions you know nothing about, at this momentwe are massing thousands of soldiers and Marines off Yemen to deter Iran from a big retaliation on us if attacked, he has sold Israel new deeper penetrating bunker busters. We have killed many key Al Qeada leaders and Taliban in the past two weeks, do not sit here and say he supports Islamist.

You are just Obama bashing with lies and misstatements, please read before you rant.

@ Gary;

I have read the speach, and it seems more that he is putting the extremist on notice, and we will not have problems with the moderates, he is not "pandering".

Part of this conviction is rooted in my own experience. I am a Christian, but my father came from a Kenyan family that includes generations of Muslims. As a boy, I spent several years in Indonesia and heard the call of the azaan at the break of dawn and the fall of dusk. As a young man, I worked in Chicago communities where many found dignity and peace in their Muslim faith.

Telling a group of Muslims in the ME you are Christian is pandering to them?lol He obviously rejected Islam even as a child, this speech also goes to the point they(ME muslims) need to change their baised views toward us, he says this straight up to them. He is calling for future peace in this speech and telling them what is epected of them also, this is not pandering. Get a clue.

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/04/us/politics/04obama.text.html?pagewanted=all

where those he encouraged and pandered to are humiliating America as we speak.

They are humiliating themselves and Egypt, they are not humiliating us, he did not encourage this, maybe you need to read the speach again.

Coral ======== Mubarak was a friend of America. He supported us in the region. He suppressed the Muslim Brotherhood. Never while he was in power , for decades , did Egyptians storm the American embassy. He kept the peace with Israel for decades. Obama betrayed Mubarak when he demanded he leave office ; he betrayed our supporter when he supported the Muslim Brotherhood and claimed they weren't so bad. This is the same Muslim Brotherhood that brandishes the following motto :

" Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. The Qur'an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope "

The dictator has been supplanted by an intolerant brutality that will make Mubarak look like Gandhi. The Islamists are enemies of freedom of religion --- they want to deny every human on the face of the earth the right to freely chose their own religion or no religion at all --- and they will use force to bring this about. They are enemies of freedom of speech and press ; they are enemies of equal rights for all in society ; they are enemies of equal rights for women. Those are the straight facts.

You further take issue with my observation that our incompetent leaders will seek to allow the thugs to repeal our Constitutional right to freedom of speech. But , what better evidence of this is there but the statement our government made in response to these unopposed depredations taken by the goons against our embassy? They put our a statement attacking the exercise of free speech in America. That's right , our government condemns those that hurt the feelings of Muslims. No condemnation of the thugs that riot and trespass and burn and kill , the Islamists. No , our leaders say , instead :

" We firmly reject the actions of those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others.'

It's absolutely unbelievable, a disgrace. But , it is in keeping with the speech Obama gave in Cairo in 2009 when he pandered to the new Islamist leaders in Egypt. I would submit , the ignorant comments are flowing from you, Coral. Take off the blinders and focus on reality.

He added: "When anyone, not least a member of Congress, launches specious and

This action by the Muslims shows good reason to have ALL our troops brought home immediately!!! I believe if we do not bring our troops fast while we still can than one day they will be DESERTED and left with NO WAY OUT!!! There is a reason I have been saying to bring our troops home ever since Obama treated a good soldier like Mcrystal like dirt by firing him for doing a good job as a soldier. I believed back then that was a bad sign now from an Intelligence perspective there are glaring reasons to bring the troops home.

As to reasons for not liking Obama there are plenty. It is just that the Democrats do not want to hear them even from an FDR point of view. One Obama signed the "Cut Bomb" which will hurt the weakest and the poorest Americans as well as the military. Social Security will be cut under the "Cut Bomb" that means the same 74 million people that would have died under Gingrich cut plan will now die under the Obama cut plan. So if I called Gingrich to the mat for that cut than to be fair I now call Obama to the mat for the same action. Killing 74 million people is still a Holocaust whether it is done by a Republican or a Democrat. Obama himself did in fact admit to his Muslim faith on TV. Obama also insulted our best and long term ally, England by rudely giving back the Churchill bust that we have had there since FDR. Obama coddles our enemies and is offensive to our friends. He is making America loose our most trusted allies. If you look at too valuable films that show beyond all doubt as to reasons not to like or trust Obama you need to just look at the film made by opsecteam.org which shows how Obama freely gives away Intelligence secrets which has caused death of our operatives and allies. The other film to view and see the true nature of Obama is 2016 by Denish D'souza. This guy has a similar background as Obama and he shows the roots of Obama's ideas and beliefs. Yes, Obama was BORN in America but his being raised overseas alot has made him not culturally American. Obama admits himself in his own book that his Father had a great influence and Denish follows the path of the father. Obama was silent at his convention about his dad. These two films are a must see for EVERY American before voting.

And he was definitely speaking to those Muslims in Egypt who are now in power. And , as to the new president of Egypt, yeah , he's a real teddy bear. He just demanded that we release the Blind Sheikh who's serving life in prison for plotting to murder innocent Americans. Real moderate , right ? As to the Muslim Brotherhood, just watch what they do as they consolidate power in Egypt. That will be the proof of what I say about them and undeniable by you when it unfolds. He is definitely not a Christian, probably not a Muslim either. Most likely, he is an Obamanite - someone who will profess whatever he thinks will advance his agenda du jour. As an editor of the Harvard Law Review and a lecturer at the University of Chicago's law school, he never published a scholarly article. He is also Exhibit A for why affirmative action is a really, really bad idea. He is a street-smart Chicago thug politician who got lucky in being in the right place at the right time. Norman Podoretz had him dead to rights - the same anti-American leftist he was before we elected him POTUS.

Fool me once [not me personally because I never voted for him], shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Romney/Ryan all the way.

IF Obama is a Christian he must of "evolved" in to one because he was raised as a Muslim.

Also, i don't know ANY Christian that would sit in a church for 20 years (1000 Sunday's) that "God **** America"

It seems to me a lot of you have lost the fact that an American was killed on what is basically American soil and so far it seems very few are upset that America has again been attacked. Guess it has to happen in your own back yard for any of you to show concern and be upset over another American lost. You are all so into the political garbage you have lost sight of your country and fellow man. God help us all.......

Reading all the defenders of Obama concerning how hard he has been on terrorist. I find that ignorant, why wouldn't I go after something that I can can some street cred from knowing the next day a new number two rises up in that place. Just take a step back and see what is going on, Obama knows this and that is a great reason to kill off terrorist. Alqaida isn't going anywhere, they will be just as powerful if not more powerful since they control a greater portion of the region now. One dies and one gets promoted.

Mubarak was an ally, we'll use that word since you don't have to be a friend as an ally. You just have to have a common cause. He liked power and we liked him being in power. This is the Arab Spring that our President supports as he made the decision to be part of a coalition to block Qhadafi(spelling) from escaping and now look at Libya, killing an American.

Our President does support them, at the same time he deflects the issue by killing another terrorist. He knows a lot of people will be influenced by the defection. Like I said no big deal in killing them, they don't care. Plenty left to fill in the empty spots.

Coral Taxi ========= By the way , in his Cairo speech in 2009 , Obama was speaking to Muslims worldwide

Yes no kidding you said he was talking to the "new Islamic leaders". I was simply pointing out that you do not know what you were talking about while using it to degrade someone else, nice try on the backpedal, but just admit you were wrong, I have had to do it before, so dont feel alone.

You called me ignorant, when you were making an ignorant statement.lolt

Coral ====== This is silly. You're straining at gnats. He was speaking to Muslims that aspired to depose Mubarak and become leaders. They did so with his help , when he withdrew support for Mubarak. He spoke to these new leaders of Egypt, those now leading it. It's really of no great moment that those he spoke to became the new leaders some months later. You've missed the point. He was telling Muslims that they would get a new deal from him and those now in power , who listened to his message , are expecting it.

Rob - Though neither ever used such strong language, you do realize that the past two Popes have at times been very critical of the US Government and its general culture? And I think they have a bit more sway in Christendom than that goon in the Midwest.

I consider both the right and left to be plagues on this house, but I find it very interesting that up until 2008, it was largely the right that dismissed most any conspiracy theory as the musings of some drug induced liberal retards. Since 2008, many on the right believe that Obama, who they call Odumbo (my opinion - very smart - maybe not all the best qualities for President), is now orchestrating possibly the greatest conspiracy of shifting global politics and power ever in the history of the human race.

Not even Seinfeld could come up with such genius comedy.

Unfortunately freedom of speech does not necessarily carry over to other sovereign nations. Seems that the egyptions have their own idea of freedom of speech and choose to ignore the sovereign right of anothers embassy per international law.

Immersion therapy is what is needed not apologies. Videos, poking fun at mohammed, should be made every day in every country except israel. This would turn their world upside down and very shortly would inure them to criticism. There is a limited number of rages that anyone can sustain over a period of time.

You've got to face a few facts here folks:

The "protest" is against the US and Israel. It's a clear escolation of anti-West rhetoric and the first steps to the next stage of a war with Israel and the West. Iran is mobilizing to "help" Syria, Syria is where Iraq's left over WMDs are being stored. Egypt has been smuggling/moving large amounts of arms to Gaza. You've got a big arms build up on all fronts of Israel, the unification of a number of Islamic states, and the Iranian government is calling for action against Israel (and the US).

On our end the President has verbally drawn a line that the US will stand back as things escolate and has just declined another visit by the Israeli PM. Time is running out and Israel is going to attack Iran in hopes of hobbling their nuclear program. With the US near an election the President won't jump on board and send in our military as it would likely cause his base to move against him. Similarly Congress wouldn't want to do anything until the election dust settles.

Like it or not folks we are about to start a very dangerous, violent time. Oil will go through the roof as the war starts, so you might want to consider getting some things done now.

What I would like to know is what happened to the embassy security detachment. Were they ordered to stand down and to allow the sovereignty of our embassy to be violated?!?! Why didn't the Marine security detachment keep these people out of the embassy compound. They never should have been allowed to climb the wall and get into the compound, let alone anywhere near the flag. This is a disgrace that is was allowed to happen. Is this Obama's new way of dealing with the Islamists who have taken over Egypt, allow them to violate our embassy without resistance, essentially violating US sovereignty without consequence. The Marines must have received orders from somewhere telling them in advance not to try and stop this violation of our territory. The embassy compound is US soil under international law and these people should have been shot as soon as they came over the wall. We can not sit back and do nothing in response to having our embassy overrun by a bunch of Islamists.

I'm not saying the GOP is perfect but it is the more Christian choice. Before you start about helping the poor etc. I agree they should be helped but not by the government. Local communities are where the poor should get help. The Bible says we should help the widows and orphans but it also says if you don't work you don't eat. We need to get our morals back in this country and other things will improve along with it. If we don't we are destined to be the next Roman Empire.

            Christan's unite

I Thur Christ have learned about unconditional love. This principle is the most important principle that Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior teaches his children.

            Matthew 22:35-40

35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,

36 Master, which is the greatest commandment in the law?

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

You see its not about man trying control gods children its about loving God and everyone around us. (Gods children) I will pray that someday you will understand these simple teachings from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

            Matthew18:21-22

21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven

I think neither political party Dems. or Repubs. are the party Christians. They use Christian ethos to manipulate the faithful in to supporting them. Both parties have many things that Christians should find offensive. Using your faith to determine your party misses the point of "render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's" (not completely accurate.) The government and the parties: are of man for man, they are not of God. So, know that when you believe any political party has your faith and values in mind.....know they only want your vote and in the end could care less how they get it. If they can use your faith to get it great. As for our religious leaders that tell us to vote one party or the other....why do they court the politically powerful????? What do they gain....it is not a closer relationship with God. I do not want religion in my government and I do not want government in my religion!

Muslims show time and again the hypocricy they choose to live by. Shameful. When was the last time an embassy was overrun in the US? (asking, I don't know if it has ever happened) I am sure 'we' will continue to stand back and allow such things to happen, though, without consequence. But, if this were to have repercussions, it wouldn't need to be violence (as much as some of us - me included at times - wish it could be on some level). Make the consequences count for actions against us - political and/or financial. Hold people/countries accountable. Hell, we love to make examples of others in the media who do far less and often without proof (Lance Armstrong). On the gritty side - put yourself in the boots of the MSG (Marines) who probably had to stand by for this. How would you feel at age 18-22? With that thought, imagine the restraint these young Marines, part of the greatest fighting force on the planet, must have in these situations. Their friends are in frats and sororities back home skipping class. Or, far worse, suffering or dying in front of them. I proudly served in the forces of this country and I assure you every veteran I know would not only condemn what happened but would gladly go over there and eliminate the problem and not think twice about it. I don't want to get into a political ( REP/DEM ) debate, it's not about that but since our President has no intention of going back on his Muslim brothers and doing anything it is likely we will see more of this going forward and until we have someone to stand up and do something whether it be him finally getting on board with this country's beliefs and standing up for us instead of against us or someone else in the office. The world knows we currently have no leader so they take full advantage of it.

What percentage of people is 2000 out of 83 Million? Therefore only a SMALL FRACTION of the general population acted. Just like we cannot mirco manage what every single person does neither can Egypt.

What I do not understand is anytime someone burns a Koran or insults Muhammad WHY DO YOU NOT KILL THAT PERSON? WHY DO YOU KILL PEOPLE THAT HAVE NOTHING THE F*** TO DO WITH WHAT YOU ARE PISSED ABOUT? Where is the logic? Please someone explain to me WTF the Americans in the embassies had to do with ANYTHING?

We no longer have 100% free speech, where the F*** have you all been at Egypt? For instance we cannot say bomb or some other phrases while on a plane or in an airport...tks for that (black flag=Al-qaeda). The person that wrote "If your freedom of speech has no limits, may you accept our freedom of action." needs to get a clue. If our speech has repercussions then why not your actions?

I almost agree that everyone, but Israel should make fun of Muhammad like Jesus has been over the years, but that might turn a small fraction into a much larger percentage. We should not have evacuated and we should not have left the flag behind. Fire some warning shots, but had they crossed the wall then according to the "rules" they should have gotten shot at. Same thing happened in Africa, people were harassing the embassy, but all it took was one bullet from a sniper to kill the local leader and that was it. Freedom of action has its price, some people got very lucky today, and should be happy to be alive.

(P.S. EVERYTIME YOU DO STUPID CHIT LIKE THIS YOU TURN PEOPLE AWAY FROM MUHAMMAD NOT TOWARDS. It also does absolutely nothing, but to piss off the "normal" people that might actually listen to you and what you had to say if you followed some kind of logic. You are only hurting yourselves with these actions.)

            Christians Unite

Jesus also told a rich man to give up all his wealth to the poor. Have you given up all your wealth? No, didn't think so.

Jesus also said that it would be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven. So guess who will have difficulty getting into heaven... that's right, THE GOP.

Jesus never once said anything about homosexuality... not one thing... yet you Christians will support anti-gay organizations more than you support homeless shelters and food banks.

YOU Republicans shouted "LET HIM DIE!" when asked about someone who could not afford healthcare... is that "pro life"? What do you think Jesus would say?

YOU Republicans cheered for executions, in a blood-lust reminiscent of barbarians. What did Jesus say of those who cheered for his execution? Did he join in their cheers?

YOU Christians are NOTHING like your Christ. YOU are the exact opposite of everything Jesus taught. In fact, Jesus warned everyone of people like YOU. YOU are the wolves in sheep clothing. YOU are no different than Muslim extremists. YOU are the enemy.

Most people in all relgions are peaceful. The problem are the fanatics who ruin it for everyone. That's why it just doesn't pay to get involved in other countries. We should end all financial aid to Egypt, Israel, Pakistan. etc. These countries are only looking out for their interests (as do all countries) so spending money over there is a losing investment. As an example, we and the west helped the Libyans and you see how the fanatics among them are now acting. And the fanatics, the alpha dogs, are often the ones who others, the moderates, follow because they have to. It's a crazy world.

And this is why we shouldn't get involved in Syria.

I just hope people are not going to start turning against each other whenever someone makes a movie (or write a book) about Muhammad (i.e. start blaming the ones who made the movie for any attack by extremist muslims). I remember also not so long ago when a minister wanted to burn Qur'ans in protest and he was stopped (and I think he apologised also for his idea) because people were afraid muslims would retaliate. While certainly we should respect each other's beliefs, anyone who wants to make a movie about, or protest against, Muhammad, or any other religious figure, should be able and allowed to, this is a free country, where we have freedom of expression. We have to stand together against those extremists, we should never let them dictate what we can and cannot do.

I personally have read the Koran and enjoyed it,many of their beliefs are much like ours. There is far more disparity between the Jews and the Christians than there is with the Muslim religon. And I am happy to see the Obama is seeing the light when it comes to dealing with Israel and the situation there. He feels we should get away from all this as soon and as much as we can no matter what revelations in the Bible says. He's absolutely right.I respect and live by part of the Koran as well as the Bible. This is why freedom of what you want to believe is so important. Our forefathers knew this 300 years ago,I wish the rest of the world could understand it.

Really? Do you not understand that one of the names of Jesus is "the word"

            John 1:1

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God; 2this one was in the beginning with God; 3all things through him did happen, and without him happened not even one thing that hath happened.

How on earth do you presume to determine what Jesus has said and hasn't said when you don't even understand the basic concept that the whole Bible (Old and New Testament) book was from him and about him?

And your message illustrates perfectly the point I tried to make in my previous post. What matters, whether he lives in Canada or in the US, is that he should be free to make any movie he wants about Muhammad, or any other religious figure. He lives in America, in a country where we have freedom of expression, and this right should be respected. Blame the extremists who attacked the ambassies, they are the maniacs, not the guy who made the movie.

Certainly we should respect each other's beliefs, but this respect should never be based on fear. I should have mentioned that when I say "we should stand up against these extremists, "we" includes all peaceful muslims living in America. Being upset if someone burns a Qur'an or badmouth Muhammad is understandable, but to condone the attack and/or killing of people because they burned a Qur'an or disrespected Muhammad is not acceptable, at least not in any "western" country (and all peaceful muslims living in America must condemn these extremists' actions - most do). As I said we all have to stand together against extremists.

The actions of these people demonstrate that they don't have a clue as to what freedom of speech/expression means. They've been steeped in the religious compulsion demanded by their societies (no, they don't have any choice) and don't seem to have any concept of any other way of thinking.

Along the way, they have 'insulted' the outside world by using the pejorative term "infidel" to describe anyone who doesn't believe as they do.

They demonstrate the epitome of religious irrationality. May they be condemned to live as they currently do.

And I need to add tha the word 'God' doesn't appear in the Constitution. Not once. I'm quite sure that if the founding fathers had meant for us to be a 'Christian' based nation they would have said so, especially in the Constitution.

Since they didn't I'm quite sure it was an intentional omission. And for that I'm thankful every day.

I think these Muslims are over reacting to a movie. If I killed a person every time a movie offended me boy, talk about crazy. I like any other American have been insulted by movies but adults just ignore it and live on and except each right to free speech. It seems that Muslims will kill any American for an offense. That is strange to kill ANY American not the one who did the offense. It seems Muslims need little excuse to kill Americans. Then they wonder why Americans are no longer wanting to tolerate Muslims. My patients has worn out. I think it time we return bad deed for bad deed. Deport with out exception all Muslims from America and consider them an enemy as much as we considered the Nazis an enemy. The way the Muslims behave proves them to be a Religion in name only. They are far to carnal to be considered a religion but more like a political ISM or party using a religious label like the Christian Democratic Union in Germany. If we realize that they are really a political party with a religious disguise than maybe Americans will get up the ideological will to fight them like we did against Hitler. In WWII we even broke down Mein Kempf and debated it in a brilliantly done Allied book and we united against the Nazis. We did not allow them to walk all over us under the guise of religious tolerance even though Hitler was worshiped as a God in that state. We did not allow them to have massive cell groups to undermine our political processes either. We did not cut our infrastructure making our country even weaker and easier to conquer. We united and built a strong functional government and every last civilian helped in the war effort. We tolerated no one who sided with our Enemy the Nazis. The Muslims are No different. How can Muslim be a religion since religion is about life after death and leaving this world for a better place. The goal of world conquest is about politics. The Muslims look for a World Muslim Dictator that is POLITICS plain and simple. So since they act like Hitler we should treat them like Hitler.

Actually being neither Christian or Muslim, I like the way His followers love Him. Muhammad, may the bounty of God rest upon Him, was a true Messenger from God. I think if the Christians loved Jesus Christ the same, there wouldn't be so much child sexual abuse in the Christian Church.

Barlow- America is a secular state. You do not have to profess allegiance to a religious doctrine to be a member. Child sexual abuse is prosecuted by the US government. Stop spreading false information.

islam, christianity, and judaeism are all expressions of human ignorance. Our Gods are not the final destination, rather they are the final barrier to true enlightenment.

This behavior is the final straw. I honestly do not believe that Arabs are able to exist peacefully with others or even themselves.

                          THERESA-532036,

Pathetic. Do you really want to know. Simple start with researching back to March 2009 when President Obama triggered all of this with his March 2009 Iran Policy.

After President Obama stated his March 2009 Iran Policy, US must negotiate before any actions (position of weakness); the Ayatollahs of Iran that actually control everything basically told President Obama to f**k off and die, NO EMPTY WORDS "negotiations".

Then the Fundamentalist Islamic Shia Republic of Iran started those covert and overt things that are now Documented History: Overthrow of Former US Ally President Gaddaffi by Islamic Jihadists fully supported by the Fundamentalist Islamic Shia Republic of Iran. Overthrow of US Ally President of Egypt by the Muslim Brotherhood as fully supported by the the Fundamentalist Islamic Shia Republic of Iran before the "Egyptian Revolution". Overthrow of US Ally President of Yemen by the Islamic Jihadists of Al Quada Yemen as fully supported by the the Fundamentalist Islamic Shia Republic of Iran. US told to get the f**k out of Iraq, no more negotiations with President Obama nor SOS Clinton, US must follow President Bush's Iraq Withdrawal Time Table, the the Fundamentalist Islamic Shia Republic of Iran in Northern Iraq tells the Islamic Shia Government of Iraq to give the Chinese and Russian Federation the Iraqis Oil that could have paid for the US Military Liberation of Iraq with decades to centuries of Iraqis Oil, this make the Libyan Oil of Strategic Importance to the US European Allies, this too was lost to the Chinese as negotiated by the Islamic Nation of Qatar. Lots of etc..

(Declassified as 2012) The Fundamentalist Islamic Shia Republic of Iran, fully supporting with training, funding, arming, etc. hundreds of thousands of Fundamentalist Islamic Jihadists located at the Fundamentalist Isalmic Autonomous Kurdistanis Region using their Fundamentalist Islamic Shia Republic of Iran Special Forces, Quds, in Asymmetric Warfare (Insurgency) to Overthrow the US and US Allies Worldwide.

This was part of General McChrystal's statement to the News Media warning of the increased Strategic Sphere of Influence of the Fundamentalist Islamic Shia Republic of Iran; since this was against President Obama's March 2009 Iran Policy, he received a Letter of Reprimand.

Idealistic Academic no real World experience brand new President Obama fell neck deep into the outhouse pit. Because he could not even understand the longtime stated Strategic Goal of the Chinese and Russian Federation of getting the US And US Allies out of their Backyards (Resources). The Chinese and Russian Federation using the Fundamentalist Islamic Shia Republic of Iran as their "Proxy Fighters". The Fundamentalist Islamic Shia Republic of Iran using the Worldwide Islamic Jihadists as their "Proxy Fighters" as funded by the Islamic Laws Mandatory Islamic Tithes of Trillions USDs per year of 1.5 Billion Islamic Believers Worldwide.

If you want to KNOW from the horses mouth, President Obama's intentions in writing for the United States READ his Book, Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance

General Patton read General Rommel's Book Infanterie Greift An; and Chancellor Hitler's Mein Kampf, to know what they were going to do next. Their Decision Making Processes, Thoughts, Their Unbreakable Factors from their Experiences Growing up exploited as weaknesses, etc..

Facts not Popular Opinion, Logic not Emotions, Experience not Academic Idealism, Results not Empty Words nor Excuses, Details not Errors of Omission (Lies of training to be Lawyers), etc..

The Real World Life or Death School of Hard Knocks hates Academic Idealists and immediately gives them the Darwin Award (kills them off).

From Experience, the Majority Fundamentalist Islamic Shia usually "Shoot First as the Dead do not complain", that is why there are only a minority of Sunnis, as the Fundamentalist Islamic Shia will shoot the Sunnis in the face while the Sunnis is negotiating. The usual justification used by the Fundamentalist Islamic Jihadists like when I was a UN Observer was, "You made me kill them (innocent men, women, children) because you are here."

                          jim-653566 - blah, blah, blah.

President Bush: October 2001 Orders his Executive Intelligence Agency the CIA to Afghanistan, they failed, my Teams are attached to them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arxKhJIjIiY

WE (NOT YOU) start chasing the surviving Fundamentalist Islamic Taliban, Al Quada, Islamic Jihadists on the Old Silk Road and start killing them with extreme prejudice. The US Politicians demand we stop as not to violate the Sovereign Nations of Iran and Iraq. The Fundamentalist Islamic Kurdistanis provide them with Fundamentalist Islamic Sanctuary.

In 2002 President Bush pushes for a US Law for us to finish the job of eliminating those that escaped us (NOT YOU) at Afghanistan. In 2002 US Congress passes US Law with Congressional Appropriations, 2002 Iraqi War Resolution.

Because only a few of us survived October 2001 we are augmented by the US Army 10th Special Forces Group to conduct 2002 Operation Hotel California. The Fundamentalist Islamic Taliban, Al Quada, Islamic Jihadists became stronger with the direct support of the Fundamentalist Islamic ShiaRepublic of Iran and many Islamic Jihadists arriving from Worldwide. Combined together they all become the Fundamentalist Islamic Ansar Al Islam. The battles against the Fundamentalist Islamic Ansar Al Islam become the most significant in the Unclassified History of the US Army 10th Special Forces Group, this became Asymmetric Warfare Skill versus Asymmetric Warfare Skill.

Before being completely destroyed the Fundamentalist Islamic Shia Republic of Iran provides them with Fundamentalist Islamic Sanctuary, they escaped us again; later they return via the Fundamentalist Islamic ShiaRepublic of Iran back to Afghanistan and Pakistan as the Fundamentalist Islamic Taliban, Fundamentalist Islamic Al Quada, Fundamentalist Islamic Jihadists, Fundamentalist Islamic Hamas Foreign Fighters, etc.. (recently declassified) Many also go south and hide amoung their Fundamentalist Islamic Shia Friends at Southern Iraq. Sunnis President Hussein does not know.

Our (NOT YOU) Mission is changed to accomplish President Clinton's US Law, H.R.4655 "Iraqis Liberation Act of 1998" Justification Section 2 Weapons of Mass Destruction (NOT BUSH), Section 3 US Policy Overthrow of President Hussein, "Regime Change".

In 2002 we (NOT YOU), the US Army 10th Special Forces Group, the Pro US Kurdistanis Pesh (not the Fundamentalists) attacked, seized and secured the Iraqis Chemical Weapons Facility at Sargat, Iraq.

We then create a Strategic Operational Feint to get the Iraqis Military Command and Political Leadership to move all their Main Iraqis Military Forces North of Baghdad, their belief that the US would attack thru US Ally Turkey.

We attacked, seized and secured the Northern Iraqis Oil Fields.

2002, Company sized elements of us, the US Army 10th Special Forces Group, the Pro US Kurdistanis Pesh (not the Fundamentalists) destroyed five Full Strength Elite Iraqis Armor and Mechanized Infantry Divisions (Credited in the Unclassified History of the US Army 10th Special Forces Group) and (recently declassified) one Full Strength Elite Iraqis Division held in Reserve with no Air Support (Air Strikes). How we (NOT YOU) did this is still "Classified".

(Declassified) 2002. We knew that the Iraqis Military was "Command Driven", no orders means they do NOTHING, absolutely NO individual initiative (Just like the dumbarse US Civilians want the US Military to become). Non Nuclear E-Bombs are used to destroy ALL Iraqis Electronics and Electricity, thrown from the 20th Century to the Stone Ages. With no electricity nor electronics they do not have communications to organize a cohesive defense or deploy their Iraqis Military Forces. (Declassified FOIA, my After Action Report) Even our digital watches were destroyed by the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) or Electro Magnetic Radiation (EMR); however, my Seiko Mechanical Chronograph from when I was a LRRP/Ranger at Vietnam survived, so that I was the only one of Redacted Task Force Redacted that could coordinate phased (timed) activities. The methods used to protect our own electronics (except the forgotten Redacted Redacted Digital Watches) especially our communications against our own EMP/EMR did work, even with precautions/procedures some of our vehicles became disabled beyond repair.

2002. We start conducting LRS-D and Pathfinder Operations for the 2003 US Military Liberation of Iraq in accordance with President Clinton's US Law, H.R.4655 "Iraqis Liberation Act of 1998" that now became US Military Operation Iraqis Freedom.

2003. We are attached to Redacted as Commanded by General McChrystal (US Army Special Forces) at Iraq.

2004. Those of us (NOT YOU) that survived, are finally allowed our kind of R&R as: attending many memorial services, replacing our dead, assessing new Team Members to the Teams, Training Teams with new Team Members, Training for our new/next Mission(s) 80% to 90% of our lives (5% for family, 1-2% personal), etc.. By the way I either had to resign my US Military Officer Commission or switch to US Military Asymmetric Warfare from my previous very comfortable 0600 to 1900 desk job. Of the almost thousand of us starting on the US Military Training Teams to US Ally Iraq during the Iran Iraq Wars, later rotated to Operation Cyclone as demanded by Senator Charles Wilson, Democrat, Texas; there are only a few us that survived (including those of the CIA's SAD/SOG).

So sure if President Bush as Commander In Chief took false Credit for what we did (NOT YOU NOR BUSH) he most definitely "Killed More Terrorists" by the thousands.

In 2006 President Bush Amended the US No Assassination Policy regardless of the US Politicians intensive objections (Harvard International Review 2006 article, "US No Assassination Policy on the Offensive". The Planning to locate and capture Osama Bin Laden is given to General McChrystal (US Army Special Forces, previous Commander SOC, firsthand experience Iraq locating capture of President Hussein), Admiral McRaven (USN SEAL, JSOC), Director CIA (delegated to SAD/SOG); mission perimeters failing to capture OBL, terminate OBL.

(Unclassified) 2006 The CIA with USAF attached can now use MQs (armed RQs) to specifically target (assassinate) individual "Terrorists". The mission of Targeting and Target Damage Assessment is added to our (NOT YOUR) Mission, USAF STTs are attached to us. We are cross trained at their School (eventhough we wrote their Training Manuals and Technical Manuals). Using Redacted and Redacted experience we are identifying and terminating the individual "Terrorists". This was "Classified" until President Obama bragged about this, 2009, and outed us, we withdraw from Redacted, and can no longer protect the Afghans/Pakistanis that we were living with during years of consecutive tours due to the new President Obama Rules of Engagement required US Civilian (not US Military) Rule of Law and US Civilian Rules of Evidence, they (men, women, children) are massacred. By word of mouth, this information spreads and "emboldens" and "encourages" the Islamic Jihadists to increase their activities, "US is impotent" (translation, male sexual activity as an insult) "and cannot protect you collaborators to the Christians, Jews, Unbelievers (aka High Treason against Islam)". (Unclassified News Article) 2010 blabber mouth Senator Lieberman tells the News Media about President Obama's Secret Wars (not Iraq nor Afghanistan) we are redeployed back to Afghanistan from Redacted, Redacted, Redacted, Redacted, etc. as Senator Lieberman Officially verified our presence at those Nations, resulting in us being hunted by the Locals for the large (1 Million) dead or alive Bounties/Rewards offered by the Islamic Jihadists.

The only we, we, we, that most of you keep squealing is:

                          http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaGC9kfkaO8

Most of you are NOT the 1% of the US Citizens of the US Military; and most of you are definitely NOT the 3% of the all the US Military, as the US Military Asymmetric Warfare Forces (aka Special Warfare). Or you would know that President Obama is saying, "nice big doggy" then turning around and kicking the dog in the nuts as US Military Commander In Chief by ordering 90,000 US Military Personnel to be Reduction In Force'd and thrown on Unemployment.

Lets face the facts Prophet Muhammad was not prophet he was a adulterer and a pedophile. He is a false prophet.

Please remember to keep a count of the number of Islamic leaders who come forward to condemn this hysterical - and murderous - action.

Islam rightfully deserves the foul reputation it has developed for itself.

Now I say bomb and strafe the whole Middle East!! An attack on an embassy used to be considered an act of war. YO WASHINGTON, whatever happened to speak softly but carry a big stick????? Mr. President,

The time has come to channel your inner Theodore Roosevelt. May I suggest the following actions would be in order.

                            1. Expel the Libyan Ambassador and all foreign staff immediately.

                            2. Order the Egyptian Ambassador and all foreign staff out of the country within 24 hours.

                            3. Seize all Libyan property in the US.

                            4. Freeze all Egyptian holdings in the US.

                            5. Send the Navy to blockade all Libyan ports and to stand off the Egyptian ports until further notice.

                            6. Put all military personnel serving in the middle east on red alert.

                            7. Order all US citizens in Libya and Egypt out of those countries.

                            8. Forbid all US travel to the Middle East.

                            9. Give Libya ten days to produce the murderers and hand them over to the US for prosecution.

                            10. Give the Egyptian government 72 hours to issue a full apology and a guarantee of the safety of our embassy personnel.

                            11. End all foreign aid to Libya. Period.

                            12. Withhold all foreign aid to Egypt until the apology delivered and security of our nationals is guaranteed TO OUR SATISFACTION.

                            13. Ask our allies, Germany, France, UK and others to participate in the embargo of goods going to Libya.

                            14. Expel the fool who made the offending film and his family, send them back to Israel after freezing all their assets in this country.

                            15. Quietly suggest that the Russians and the Chinese mind their own business for awhile.

Enough is enough Mr. President. A people who will murder an ambassador or order the assassination of individuals over cartoons and movies cannot be negotiated with or tolerated. Individuals who flagrantly insult another religion or people and therefore endangers US lives likewise cannot be tolerated.

It's time for the BIG STICK Mr. President.

Egypt’s so-called Arab Spring quickly turned into a Christian winter following the political rise of Islamists and increased assaults on Christians and churches. As a result, an estimated 100,000 Christians have fled or are preparing to flee the country, according to a report by International Christian Concerns on Monday.

Calls for Christians to be killed with some of them reportedly crucified on trees are the new reality of the Egyptian government under a Muslim Brotherhood president and a legislature run by not only the Brotherhood but also the extreme Islamist Salafists, according to a separate report by the British human rights group, the Barnabas Fund.

According to the London-based, non-partisan Barnabas group in an alert, Egyptians have witnessed an increase in brutality, mostly against Christians and dissenters, with President Mohammed Morsi emboldening Islamists who were previously constrained by Egypt’s now ousted President Hosni Mubarek.

“Sadly, the Obama administration and most of the American news media ignore these latest examples of brutality and oppression in order to avoid criticism for buying into the whole Arab Spring nonsense,” said an official from the Israeli National Police, who told the Law Enforcement Examiner that Salafists are active in helping Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

“Instead of taking action to stop the killing and brutalizing of Christians in Muslim nations, the Obama administration points to Egypt as an example of a foreign policy success,” said the INP source.

“Why are people surprised that Obama and his minions don’t care about Christian persecution? These are the people who removed the term ‘God-given’ from the Democratic Party’s new Platform,” said Michael Baker, a Washington political consultant.

This week, according to officials, pamphlets and posters from jihadist organizations are being handed out to Muslims calling on them to “kill or physically attack the enemies of the religion of Allah — the Christians in all of Egypt’s provinces, whom they denigrate as being “slaves of the Cross.”

In fact, according to the INP source, a bounty has been placed on the head’s of Christ’s followers in order to “achieve Allah’s rights against his enemies.”

The anti-Christian pamphlets are linked to the bloodthirsty torture and murder of a Christian store owner, Refaat Eskander, One of the assassins seen fleeing the scene was allegedly wearing the garb of the Salafist Islamic sect.

Barnabas officials also allege that Christians being randomly attacked and injured while arsonists destroy their businesses their homes are ransacked and plundered in the name of Allah.

“Opposition to the Muslim Brotherhood and President Morsi’s Islamist agenda is being brutally suppressed. Several Arabic web sites reported earlier this month that opponents had been crucified naked on trees by Brotherhood supporters, leading to two deaths and dozens of injuries,” stated a Barnabas Fund alert.

Some Egyptian news outlets and personnel that are critical of the Brotherhood and the Morsi government have been attacked, censored and closed down. For example, a large group of Muslim Brotherhood members and supporters beat the editor-in-chief of the independent and secular Youm 7 newspaper and damaged its facilities. Meanwhile, jihadists prevented a TV broadcaster from entering the station’s building under threat of death.

Television channels Okasha and Al Fareen were taken off air, despite Morsi’s promise that “no station or media will be shut down in my era.” And a Christian-owned private newspaper had its latest editions confiscated by secret police after an Egyptian court — exercising Sharia law — ruled that reporters had insulted Morsi and stirred up sectarian discord.

The Muslim Brotherhood announced it has appointed dozens of new editors for major state-owned newspapers.

The Moral Liberal Contributing Editor, Jim Kouri, CPP, is the fifth Vice President and Public Information Officer of the National Association of Chiefs of Police, has served on the National Drug Task Force and trained police and security officers throughout the country.

The protesters who defaced our embassy in Egypt were not representatives of the Egyptian government. Why should we retaliate against the Egyptian government and Egyptian businesses because some of its citizens decided to protest? Are you ignorant or just stupid?

Hmmm... This recent violence against a U.S. embassy or consulate, and the death of a U.S. government employee, is an act of war - nothing less, nothing more - and should be treated as such.

There ought to be a very swift and meaningful retalliation, NOW rather than later.

Fundamentalist Islamic Amin Al Husseini as the Representative of the Islamic World signs the 1933 Forever Alliance with Chancellor Hitler. Co founder of the Fundamentalist Islamic Arab League of Nations, Original Charter extermination of the Jews, Amin Al Husseini insists on the repeated attacks against the Jews, resulting in the Fundamentalist Islamic Arab League of Nations members losing in War part of Jordan, part of Egypt, Gaza, Palestine, West Bank, Golan Heights, etc. even with the UN and US Sanctions and Embargoes against Israel to get weapons, while the Fundamentalist Islamic Arab League of Nations spent all their wealth buying weapons from the USSR instead of spending their wealth on their own Nations. Fundamentalist Islamic Amin Al Husseini demands implementation of his Pan Arabic Plan, to stop any Jews from coming to the Islamic World, this is done by removing the original inhabitants Christians and Jews by force from Palestine and replaced with the "undesirables" moved from Jordan and Egypt by armed force to Palestine. Fundamentalist Islamic Amin Al Husseini co-founder of the Fundamentalist Islamic Muslim Brotherhood. To create the hatred of the Jews forever, demands the Mandatory School Curriculum of Hitler's "Mein Kampf" taught as a success story sabotaged by the Jews, and the Blame the Jews for everything, "Protocols of the Wise Elders of Zion".

The Fundamentalist Islamic Muslim Brotherhood are so Fundamentalist Islamic, that the Islamic Egyptian Government makes them Illegal.

Due to President Obama's March 2009 Iran Policy, the Fundamentalist Islamic Shia Republic of Iran starts overt and covert Activities Worldwide. One of them being, prior to the "Egyptian Revolution" and misnomer "Arab Spring" a representative of the Fundamentalist Islamic Muslim Brotherhood negotiates with the Fundamentalist Islamic Shia Republic of Iran for their support to Overthrow US Ally President Mubarak, as a Collaborator to the Christians, Jews, Unbelievers (Death Penalty High Treason Against Fundamentalist Islam). Those of the Fundamentalist Islamic Muslim Brotherhood that were trained by the Fundamentalist Islamic Shia Republic of Iran's Special Forces, Quds, at the Fundamentalist Islamic Autonomous Kurdistanis Region of Northern Iraq in Asymmetric Warfare (Insurgency) start to incite the Egyptian people to start a Civil War. The average Egyptian Soldier is caught between their Sworn Oath to the US Ally Egyptian Government and having to live at an Islamic Nation (Islamic retributions against their Families and Relatives), the young Military finally side with Islam; the older Military with previous experience side with the US Ally Egyptian Government, leave Egypt or side with Islam. The Fundamentalist Islamic Shia Republic of Iran gets access to the Strategic Suez Canal, closer locations to attack US Ally Israel, Ports to attack the US European Allies (Crusaders), Logistics closer to support the Fundamentalist Islamic Army of Islam Gaza, the Fundamentalist Islamic Hamas Warlords of Palestine, Libyan Islamic Fighting Group aka the Rebels aka New Libyan Government. The Fundamentalist Islamic Muslim Brotherhood gets Egypt.

Before you start the name calling, I went to College at Egypt to learn Arabic, and later after learning Arabic, Islam only taught in Arabic as part of my US Military Asymmetric Warfare Middle East Officer Qualification. I lived with an Egyptian Family that did not know English, their son was learning English; later on returned to live with another Egyptian Family while learning Islam; while attached to the US Embassy. I could wear anything, beard, mustache, long hair, etc.. NO US Military Uniform. During College at Egypt, I was REQUIRED or be expelled to go to the Mandatory School Curriculum of Hitler's "Mein Kampf" taught as a success story sabotaged by the Jews, and the Blame the Jews for everything, "Protocols of the Wise Elders of Zion" and pass all Tests, including reciting the Islamic Prayers without fault.

So don't tell me I don't know about Egypt. You want to talk about Libya, Redacted, Indonesia, Sudan, Somalia, Redacted, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Turkey, Redacted, Redacted, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Kenya, etc. also to prove just how wrong all of you academic idealistic with no real world experience really are. In 2012, I pulled some strings and got one of the families I lived with out of Egypt; the other family stated their intent to remain and warned me never to return to Egypt.

Not that romney and company could do better, but sure seems that Obama and company has lost foreign policy credibility. Almost like a sense of deja vu from the late 50's and 60's when central and south america had their issues with American foreign policy. How soon before we once again hear the refrains of "yankee go home", only in arabic?

A thousand people protest the United States, and you want to condemn the entire country for it? Egypt has a population of over EIGHTY TWO MILLION PEOPLE. I'm going to heavily inflate the actual number of protesters to TEN THOUSAND. That's 0.001% of the entire population of the entire country. Even if that number were 0.1% of the population, your argument still would have no basis.

Fire bomb their cities, destroy their infrastructure, and force them to accept our terms. We let Hitler go a long time, same with Japan. To many people died because we waited. Why wait now? We are at war with terrorist, and the protocol has been met. The country allowed our embassy to be attacked. That in itself is an act of war. They should have died defending US embassy from scum. They did not. Makes them enemy combatants and subject to imprisonment in Gitmo. Which isn't big enough so we just use our new property in that country.

Yeah I'm sure there would be crowds of Christians burning the Libyan flag, and attacking the personel in their ambassy (Libyan or other), suicide bombing them, etc.

You should know that there is plenty of people who made videos and cartoons with Jesus and/or Mary as the subjects, and Christians didn't start attacking ambassies and/or killing the personel in these ambassies. Get real.

BMette, you're absolutely right. When Sinead O'Conner tore up a picture of the pope, sure her career was vastly slowed, but no one came at some other guy and killed him over it.

Muslims wonder why a lot of people have nothing but contempt for them but this is a great example why. There is no reason for this behavior at all. I don't care if someone took a dump on a picture of muhhamed.

Also, any politician that says that video was an abuse of our freedom of speech needs an immediate exit from their post. This is exactly what freedom of speech is for. To say whatever you feel no matter who is offended. As americans, it's our duty to protect this right with our lives whether we agree with what they are saying or not. In the case of the embassy worker, that was absolutely horrible and I feel no sympathy for whatever horrible things happen to those who did it.

                                    You stay classy, Islam.

While we in America have this freedom of speech, in our country, our Constitution does not extend that freedom to other countries. If in fact this Coptic Egyptian in America created this video, we should revoke his citizenship or whatever visa he is staying here under and, put him on the first flight to Cairo, I'm sure he'll receive a warm welcome.

Consider, in the embassy, you have a contingent of Marines, highly trained and carefully selected. They do not shoot until lives are actually threatened. 2,000 angry Muslims on the walls of the compound does not make for an incident of imminent danger. Had the mob escalated the situation any further, actually placing the Embassy staff in danger, what is a small contingent of Marines going to do against 2,000 surrounding their compound. Sure, they could kill a lot of them in the first minutes but, that mob would not decrease in size, it would grow, very rapidly and, it is unlikely, any of the personnel in the compound would have lived long enough to see the end of the day. You have to consider these things or you're lying to yourself.

Those of you who insist on invoking your Christian beliefs as being the only answer to this, while hiding behind our freedom of speech, let's not forget that, the other guys, have the freedom and obligation to kill you as non-believers in their religion and, as we have seen many times, they will kill you for your beliefs.

Let's assume, for a moment, that your home is surrounded by dozens of thugs who intend to do you harm, have often been overheard saying that their intent is to kill you, and it becomes necessary to defend yourself. You may have plenty of guns and ammunition but you don't have the power to stop these animals, would you want some help? There are over a billion Muslims out there, certainly not all of them are against America and the west but, like a pack of dogs, they will unite in vast numbers and, that will not be a pleasant vision for your future. Prepare to defend yourself, you can blame and accuse and fabricate stories and lies about the President if you want but this problem is not going to go away no matter who wins the elections.

Does anyone remember what the Crusades were all about? Check it out and replace the arrows, lances and swords with today's weapons and technologies. The choice is limited, either kill millions (on both sides) or work out some solution to it. If any of you have any viable ideas on how to maintain peace between them and us, I'm sure both the Democrats and the Republicans would love to hear what you have to say. I think most of us here would like to hear your viable solutions as well.

Hmmm... Has anyone thought about marketing Muhammad toilet paper? It would be great to drop that over select cities in Libya and Egypt. That ought to get them stirred up.

Many people believe we are headed for an "us versus them" situation with all western religions against Muslim/Islamic religions. There could be another religious war. Especially if radical factions of Muslims riot at every perceived offense against Muhammad. Time to bring out the bigger weapons, and clean house.

                                        Hey Tom Near Seattle,

Call me Ed from Edmonds, (although I'm in Seattle right now at work),

A Billion Muslims? So? There's well over a Billion "Christians", (if in name only), in the Western Nations too. Are we supposed to cower in fear from a bunch of savages that still, in most ways, live in the Dark Ages, and use knives and throw rocks? My personal opinion is that the Western World set an ultimatum, and if it's not met, then we "Do Whatever Is Necessary". The way I see it, is that for time immemorial, the side that "Won" was the side that did not fear using ANY weapon, however horrible it might be. We Nuke Mecca, Medina, Cairo, Tehran, and continue until it is THEM who sues for peace.

And YES, I'm more than just passingly familiar with the Crusades, probably more so than MOST on this thread: The Crusades were nothing more or less than a delayed, (by over 3 centuries), Western Response to MUSLIM AGGRESSION and EXPANSION starting in the 7th Century AD. Try looking for some actual "Objective" Literature regarding the subject.... Or just try reading the Koran, as that and the Hadiths will actually spell out quite explicitly how the Muslim Word is to to be spread throughout the Earth, until "All Religion is only for Allah".....

a much better response then everyone else wanting WAR over it... OMG!!!! the US Flag was torn big whoop right? maybe I should make a video about Christians and then the catholic church, Scientology, etc. etc. etc. OH!! wait it wont matter 'cause of freedom of speech but then again it would make the BURN all the same for everyone....

                                            @Tom from Seattle,

This didn't happen in their country, it happened in ours.

                                            @Ed from edmonds (lol)

Exactly. I tend to agree that they are savages living in the 1200's. Of course, not all of them are but it seems to be a considerable portion of their population. We should have no tolerance for their intolerance. Anyone that thinks that is a good idea is just weak.

freedom of religion and freeom of speech does not equal freedom from being insulted. you are going to get insulted one time or another in your life. deal with it or not that is your choice but don't expect it not to happen again and again. Rednecks are insulted in this country everyday, for everything they do/don't do and or believe in and they do what should be done. Smile and tell the rest of the world to laugh about it because they aren't going to change. Wish the muslims in this story would learn to laugh at their own hypocrisy and redneck ways.

You are correct Vic. The problem is we now live in a PC world where if someone, somewhere was EVER insulted by something you said or did, then it's now off limits and if you say or do it again you are plastered on the news as a racist, woman hater, whatever.

Being PC is nothing more than suppression of free speech and the democrats have done an excellent job of selling everything as "PC" to the point where people don't say what they really want to say because they are so worried about hurting someones feelings.

I've never in my life seen so many thin skinned people. People need to lighten up and learn to laugh at themselves. Not everything is about race, gender, etc., sometimes it's about letting off a little steam and having a little fun.

usnreto8, right you are! These muslims will impose thier hate filled religious culture on all levels of government and continue to drag Egypt back into nothing more than a corrupt, failed, hideous example of a country with no infrastructure, no education, and no equality for any non believers. Note also in this modern age Egypt has an illiteracy rate over 44%. And for all the 'do-gooders' islam is not a religion, it is a religious culture, vastly different in that in this culture the religious leaders usurp all government functions, make all rules, mete out all penalties and killings for any perceived infraction against this religion. We in America treasure equality, but most writers here defend this hate filled culture which is the most cruel and inequal of any thing ever seen in this world. Yet we foolishly stand by, and talk about "religious freedom". The one thing Mubarak did was keep the muslims in check....now all of you will see the results of the islamic control. The greatest scourge this world has ever seen in islam, it will end only with a horrible world wide conflagration as the muslims are wiped out.

The problem is actually believing things very strongly without having any good reason to do so - in this case, that the prophet Muhammad should not be depicted/insulted/criticized/whatever - but its just one form of a much larger issue with humanity.

Any time I hear "Muslim President", I just assume the writer is an ill-informed moron incapable of coherent thought and move on.

Folks. It's simple. Either we champion the cause of freedom of expression or we don't. When anti-war protesters in America burned the American flag... it was deemed a freedom of expression (a distasteful one, I'll grant you... but a protected right).

Whenever I read how people get their panties up in a wad about someone somewhere burning an American Flag, I think of the movie The American President with Michael Douglas. Here's the quote:

America is advanced citizenship. You gotta want it bad, 'cause it's gonna put up a fight. It's gonna say "You want free speech? Let's see you acknowledge a man whose words make your blood boil, who's standing center stage and advocating at the top of his lungs that which you would spend a lifetime opposing at the top of yours. You want to claim this land as the land of the free? Then the symbol of your country can't just be a flag; the symbol also has to be one of its citizens exercising his right to burn that flag in protest. Show me that, defend that, celebrate that in your classrooms. Then, you can stand up and sing about the "land of the free".

It's one of the best lines ever. Wake up, people. The flag is just a symbol.

Whether it's "our" citizen or the citizen of another country makes no difference. I'm much less concerned about someone burning a symbol than I am about our government burning our freedoms (and, by the way... calling it "The Patriot Act" doesn't make one stinkin line of it "patriotic"). You want to know who to fear? It's not the Muslims from 20 foreign states over. It's the Tea Party from within your own state. When our rights can be revoked, government can legislate morality based on religion and a legitimate set of citizens can be disenfranchised in terms of being able to vote, the real "concerns" we should have about who the enemy is should start right here at home.

If Romney is elected president are you going to refer to him as the Mormon President. Those who scream the loudest about the Constitution forget that there is a first amendment. It's not the Second Amendment that's important it's the First Amendment. Religion, Mormon or Muslim, has no place in American government.

This article is just more political fodder in an election year. All the Obama haters will come out and use it as an excuse. I anticipate that Mormon Romney will also use this as political fodder to pander to, dare I say, the religious right. You Christians are something else. Who cares if the prophet Mohammed was insulted. I wonder if he ate Kosher pork chops. These idiots elevate Mohammed to the level of God, which is blasphemy in itself. It's sad that they use their own religion in a constant media war against the West which they will never win. When the Shiites kill the Sunnis and the Sunnis kill the Shiites nothing is ever said. Enough said.

Mike @ #11.1 ---------- You do realize that Muslims hate all non-Muslims, not just Christians. Everyone not a Muslim is a Kafir. In fact they hate atheists more that Jews and Christians. Do a little research. That's the irony of atheists defending Islam. When Islam gains control it will murder its former supporters, known to them as useful idiots, who don't convert to Islam.

Andrew Wolf --------- Read the Koran and the Hadith. In the Koran, Muhammad tell Muslims not to be friends with non-Muslims at 3 or 4 locations. He says if they do then they are no longer Muslims. You've got a lot to learn.

The Ambassador has the authority over the Marines, the Egyptians police have authority at the gates. If the protesters made no move to try to storm the Embassy building itself, the Marines had no authority unless told to fire by the Ambassador. All that would have done is launch a firestorm of retaliation.

Breech an embassies gate or compound walls you have succesfully invaded a sovereign nation. For now there is no reported bloodshed, but I would hope that our state department is willing to do something to avoid this in the future, especially at other embassies.

Perhaps obama and company have notified the egyptian government to wait untill after our november elections before any action is taken. Kind of worked with putin earlier this year.

Sam - I served from 1973 to 1992. Shot at and missed, blown up and hit. Suck eggs. Islam is submission to a false god, Mohammed was a liar, murderer and a pedophile. Facts are tough. I don't care in this great nation of ours if you you are a Christian or an atheist, but Muslims are nothing but trouble. Even as a young soldier, we ran our anti-terror drills against Omar the Tentmaker. We knew many years ago who the threat was - and it wasn't Spetznaz.

To be absolutly accurate, all who serve swear to "defend the constitution from its enemies, both foreign and domestic" We do not swear to defend any American, and could very well be called upon to do battle against any American who was a threat to the constitution.

You may have the right to say what you please, but it doesn't change the fact that by proclaiming your service and then following it with what you said casts a poor light on you and on our military. Rights aside, I like to think our soldiers behave in an appropriate manner when representing our country as you do here.

Telling someone to "eat @!$%# and die" or calling them a D-bag reflects rather poorly on you, your upbringing, and our soldiers, even if you have the right to say it. If you want to be honored as a soldier, you should not act in a dishonorable way.

I think my point has been made, especially in light of the fact that both of the statements I initially responded to were collapsed by the community.

So we as Americans should consider their burning our flag as an intolerable act against our country. The Obama administration has no balls, they have no ability to do anything but bow down to Obama's leaders from the Middle East.

If Obama gets into office again in 2013, all hell will break loose in this country and we will see what true American patriots do when our flag and country are desecrated!

Texas - thank you for pointing this out. You are right. This was a mob incited by whatever faction does not want them focussing on the failures of their own government and society at this time. Its actually a pretty typical strategy - if you can get the mob to focus on some evil outside of their country they won't turn their frustrations on the failures inside their country.

People need to realize that Israel will not kick ass in another war. They succeeded in 1967 because the Arab countries they were facing were fielding armies just this side of the stone age. That is no longer the case and Israel has not faired as well in conflicts since.

The Obama administration did not take credit for the Arab Spring and with the exception of Libya pretty much stayed out of it. Basically, this country said "Its your country, you decide what government you want. We are not sending in troops to nation build." The people screaming that we should have done more and should be involved in Syria now too are likely the same people screaming that we should bring all the troops home and stop getting involved in other countries.

Rambo was just a movie people. The US really can't just drop some bombs, solve the problem and go home. And I can't imagine invading a country because some ticked off teenagers flash mobbed the embassy.

@Anita. I have to disagree with you. I have two friends that served in the Marine Corps for years. Both of them spent time in Iraq...in combat. They spent one summer on drills, IN Israel, training with Israeli forces. Both of them told me that without a doubt, that man for man, the Israeli armed forces are the best trained and equipped soldiers in the world. And armed service is compulsary. Which means every Israeli citizen serves and is ready to muster in times of war. I'll quote one of those friends. "I served in the corp. with some bad a$$ men. And I trained with some NATO forces from all over the world that were crack troops, but the badest, scariest trained armed forces in the world are the Israelis."

I'll take their word for it over yours.

There IS a reason that the Islamic states surrounding Israel don't attack them.

Actually, if Obama get's elected, more than likely the majority voted for him, thus you and your "patriots" will be fighting against a better armed majority.

Anita-2036926 - They succeeded in 1967 because the Arab countries they were facing were fielding armies just this side of the stone age.

Don't even attempt to rewrite Documented History. Prior to 1967 the UN and US placed Arms Embargoes and Sanctions against Israel as demanded by the Fundamentalist Islamic Arab League of Nations.

At this time the Members of the Fundamentalist Islamic Arab League of Nations were spending all of their Nations Wealth on "Modern" weapons from the USSR instead of on their Nations people (why most of them lack infrastructure even today). Due to the UN and US Arms Embargoes and Sanctions against Israel the Israelis started to upgrade their WWII equipment (WWII US Sherman Tanks and British Tanks) and few French Mirage Aircraft. They started to produce their own individual weapons (Uzi, Galil, etc.), and ammunition for their Israelis Defense Force. And new weapons to defeat the Divisons of Armor and Mechanized Infantry of the members of the Fundamentalist Islamic Arab League of Nations, specifically the "Cluster Bombs" dropped by the French Mirage Aircraft flown by 18-20 year old Israelis Pilots on columns of the Fundamentalist Islamic Arab League of Nations Armor and Mechanized Infantry Divisions while evading the many modern USSR Aircraft of the Fundamentalist Islamic Arab League of Nations.

(Declassified) 1970s (exact year still Classified). Much later after Vietnam while being stationed at Germany, our US Military Unit was tasked to stand between the Israelis and the Fundamentalist Islamic Arab League of Nations as a UN Peacekeeping Force.

(Unclassified part of the US Nuclear Weapons Museum) Before this, it was believed that previous Jewish Scientists related to the US Manhattan Project follow on Projects that immigrated to Israel had built the Atomic Bomb for Israel to stop the Fundamentalist Islamic Arab League of Nations continuous attacks of their Original Charter to Exterminate the Jews. (Unclassified Source, Popular Science) Reports come out that the US had used the SR-71 to verify the existence of the Israelis Atomic Bombs in the Israelis Underground Nuclear Facility. During the later 1970s Members of the Fundamentalist Islamic Arab League of Nations are brought to the US and shown US Nuclear Testing, as to what they will face if they attack Israel again. The Fundamentalist Islamic Arab League of Nations stops attacking Israel, and as sore losers demand that the Israelis give back all the land that the Fundamentalist Islamic Arab League of Nations lost in Wars that they started.

Anita-2036926 - The Obama administration did not take credit for the Arab Spring and with the exception of Libya pretty much stayed out of it.

Since you are an academic idealist with NO REAL WORLD Experience; anytime a US President opens his mouth, what is said becomes US Policy and the gears start to turn; especially at his Executive Intelligence Agency, the CIA. If the President "Green lights" something then the CIA's SAD/SOG get involved; if requested then we are attached to the CIA's SAD/SOG and become a "Civilian Entity" and not US Military "Boots on the Ground". The Director of the CIA then directs these Missions with pre approved Delegated Presidential Authority, so that in the event of a Mission Failure the President has "Credible Deniability" to save to Office of the President, those involved are then charged with "Exceeding Authority" and become the "Politically Expedient Scapegoats/Sacrificial Lambs". These "Politically Expedient Scapegoats/Sacrificial Lambs" cannot defend themselves or they will be also compromising "Classified Information" (beyond US Military "Top Secret" of the US Department of State and the US Intelligence Agencies).

This is why we learned the hard way from our predecessors to document EVERYTHING so that our arses are not hung out to dry as "Politically Expedient Scapegoats or Sacrificial Lambs" to be slaughtered. The first time that you are hauled into a "Closed Door" US Congressional Hearing and threatened with life imprisonment, then you get the idea.

                                                      YOU GOT THAT Anita-2036926.

The only correlation I can find is economical. So I will address the economics of the situation. We need to send the countries that these events occur in a bill. We need to bill them for their US funded foreign aid, their US funded defense, their US funded humanitarian aid, destruction of private property, the murder of our citizens, the cost of our flag, etc.--right down to the very last penny. I don't care if the starve in paying it.

An attorney once told me that if you really want to hurt someone, you don't hit them in the face; you hit them where it really hurts--their pocketbook. He was right.

The United States would have much more economic power and clout in the world if it started billing for its services. So many want to run the US like a business--well, business it is! Pay up or shut up.

BTW--a movie about Mohammed supposedly sparked these protests. So what? Mohammed was NOT a god--he was a man. Graven images of god(s) is supposedly the issue. Making a man into a god is blasphemy. Now, which foot is the shoe on?

President Clinton as US Military Commander In Chief Orders the Targeting of the Urban Poor Areas of Baghdad during his Operation Desert Fox. From our training and experience we KNOW that you do NOT f**k with the Poor of Islam. President Clinton refuses to listen. We in writing state our opposition again, and are Ordered (Directly) to only do Target Damage Assessments and no Targeting, while just outside of Baghdad.

President Clinton's justification, is that if the Government of Iraq is attacked or destroyed there will be no one to negotiate Peace. Many of the innocent Poor of Islam are killed in the crowded Poor Urban areas of Baghdad by the Airstrikes and Cruise Missile Attacks. One Iraqis Government Building is accidentally hit (we later had to account for that and were held responsible, eventhough we could not Target anything.).

The US led the charge in that attack in one of MANY muslim countries. Without US support it is doubtful that the war would have happened; if it did those attacks would be directed at the other NATO countries. It is our foreign policy that results in this backlash.

We led? Not really. It was a NATO organized offensive, of which the US was a part. What other NATO countries have been targeted?

Personally, I would prefer we stayed out of that part of the world, but I absolutely refuse for the US to take all the blame for helping the Libyans. Our experience with the Muslim world--like a rabid dog, is that it definitely will bite the hand that feeds it, literally and figuratively. I wish we would let them starve.

So - now the Muslims are again telling me, an American, what I can and cannot do or see in my own country? Yeah - I'm also waiting to hear condemnation of the Egyptian Muslims from the "peaceful" American-Muslims (crickets.....)

A$$holes! I'm tired of the intolerant muslims - wish they'd get their wish and hurry up to get to their 72 virgins (what do the women get, by the way?!?)

We all have seen films that disgrace our Saviour Jesus Christ but we don't get out and do violent things protesting it. We just don't go watch it. I will most likely not watch this film. I do not care for most anyone's depiction of a holy person as being unholy. I do however agree with Jesus Christ beliefs and follow them which does not preach violence to all who don't believe in Him. Also we don't need to apologize for anything to the Muslims. We need an apology from them for attacking our property, the embassy. What if during 9/11 we attacked all of the Muslims and Muslim countries embassies here in America? If they disagree with our way of life and beliefs then stay in their own country, don't take our money, keep their oil we will keep our grain, technology, and cut them off. Let them kill each other and fight among themselves as they have done forever. They can take Obama back along with anything else that belongs to them. Look what he has done to our country.

Your comment hit the nqail on the head. "Our" Saviour Jesus Christ? Speak for yourself pal. He's not my saviour. I was born fine the first time, thank you! All religions are oppressive and murderous. Think Islam is brutal? Ask the 200,000 Catholics murdered by Cromwell in Ireland. How about the tens of millions of moslems murdered by the "Christain" Crusaders from 1009 into the Seventeenth Century? Spare me your propaganda about your "gentle" Christianity. The sad thing is, All the killing and suffering in the name Jesus would have greatly offended Jesus. You people just don't get it. Christianty should be about helping the poor and powerless, not waging war against the poor and powerless. Religion is indeed the opiate of the people. Or in the words of the great Governor of Minnesota, Jesse Ventura, a crutch for week-minded people. The irony is that I support the workings and the ideas of Christ, just not the idea of an organized church that seems to be more concerned with the accumulation of power and wealth, than with helping the poor and powerless.

The U.S. embassy in Cairo released the following statement:

The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions.

The only thing here I would consider as even remotely worth going to war over is the death of an American in our own Embassy. Yes it is shameful, and in my eyes, that they desecrated our flag over a video, but the real victim here is the person who died in the attack.

                                                                So how about this:

Egypt publicly condemns the actions, attempts to find out who is responsible, and issues a public apology for this event.

And then we can pull all American staff from the country, cut all diplomatic, economic, and military ties, and then watch the country fall apart without the "American Devils" there to stop their Generals from seizing control of the nation and turning it into a Totalitarian Regime.

                                                                • 1 vote

Everyone else is going off about the burning of the American Flag but no one is even mentioning the victim who died in the attack. Heck, here in America, we can throw our flag in the toilet and call it art. I like your suggestion for Egypt to publicly condemn the actions (will never happen), find out who is responsible (will never happen) and issue a public apology for this event (again, will never happen), and by gosh... YES lets cut all diplomatic, economic (especially economic) and military ties. We have hungry, homeless, displaced citizens in our own country who could use some of this economic assistance and I am not referring to a few bucks in food stamps. There are entire families that have lost everything they own... look at all the families who have lost everything due to natural disasters here in America. This is an act of war. The host countries failed to enforce the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961. Here's the key articles that have been violated:

                                                              • Article 22. The premises of a diplomatic mission, such as an embassy, are inviolate and must not be entered by the host country except by permission of the head of the mission. Furthermore, the host country must protect the mission from intrusion or damage. The host country must never search the premises, nor seize its documents or property. Article 30 extends this provision to the private residence of the diplomats.
                                                              • Article 27. The host country must permit and protect free communication between the diplomats of the mission and their home country. A diplomatic bag must never be opened even on suspicion of abuse. A diplomatic courier must never be arrested or detained.
                                                              • Article 29. Diplomats must not be liable to any form of arrest or detention. They are immune from civil or criminal prosecution, though the sending country may waive this right under Article 32. Under Article 34, they are exempt from most taxes, and under Article 36 they are exempt from most customs duties.
                                                              • Article 31.1c Actions not covered by diplomatic immunity: professional activity outside diplomat's official functions.
                                                              • Article 37. The family members of a diplomat that are living in the host country enjoy most of the same protections as the diplomats themselves

Is there no blame on Sam Bacile the producer of the film or Morris Sadek who reproduced the film on the internet or the animals who took the lives of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three others. Why does the President get blamed for everything ????Some people are as stupid as the day is long what happened to putting the blame on the person that does these terrible acts. Is the President also responsible for the serial killers here in America or the child molesters, rapist, and any other person not following the law. he gets blamed for everything negative like this terrible act and gets no credit for the positive like the war on terror the killing of Bin Laden and more than 30 TOP al-Qaeda operatives..Equal work equal pay, dont ask dont tell reversal, making education more affordable and healthcare reform . Hypocrits thats what you are if he cant take the credit for bin laden and the positives but is blamed for the atrocities of others .Positive beats negative everytime thats why this president is loved and respected !!!!

When did we get an apology for Muslims peeing on the Bible and burning our flags? Muslims don't have to like or agree with us, but we will always remain to right to express ourselves (peacefully) and give an opinion, like it or not. We are not always kind to the Pope either, he does not go around burning flags, some people just need to grow up and get out of their 7th century (anti)social behavior.

There is a rather large difference between the treatment of Muslims in this country than anywhere else on earth. The have it much better here than in the countries that are dominated by their religion. That said we don't have to apologize for being more accepting than them, more giving, more altruistic, and generally a more inclusive society on the whole. We do not allow them to provide genital mutilation, honor killings, and related "religious and cultural practices" that are illegal under our laws. Even in that we show more tolerance for their women and children and protect them from the baser natures of their religion and culture. We in turn allow them the freedom to practice their religion and culture as long as it does not conflict with the laws of this country.

The only thing you managed to show in your tirade is a lack of understanding of what makes the United States and our culture better than theirs. Your lack of tolerance for all religion is the real issue...sorry it makes you angry that someone in this country is allowed to have a different opinion than you on religious observance. You must be a progressive by you childish name calling and innuendo. You clearly are too immature to understand that freedom involves risk...the risk that you must extend freedom to others. We understand that but draw the line on our Constitution and culture. If you don't appreciate American law and culture please move to Egypt and make a difference there. Good day Muna...by your rants you have be dismissed.

By the way the protest outside a Baptist church or other Christian churches has been largely met with prayer for the poor individuals making the protest...not flag burninig, cursing, or beating someone nearly to death. Just saying your argument is false and generated by emotion not facts.

And...of course, the reason you're saying since 9/11 is that Muslims killed 3,000 Americans that day. So none or less than 5 is very, very generous of us.
