Questions swirled Wednesday around the makers of a provocative anti-Islam movie blamed by some for triggering protests at U.S. diplomatic outposts in Egypt and Libya and sparking an attack on the latter that claimed the life of the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans.
At least one clip from what is described as a feature film titled “Innocence of Muslims” was posted on YouTube and later reposted after being translated into Arabic. The clip, an amateurish production featuring dozens of actors, portrays Muhammad, believed by Muslims to be God’s prophet, as a womanizer, a homosexual and a child abuser.
Reports published by The Associated Press and the Wall Street Journalidentified the filmmaker as Sam Bacile. The AP described Bacile as a 56-year-old Israeli American real estate developer from California; the Journal said he was a 52-year-old real estate developer, but did not say where he lived. Both news organizations said that they interviewed Bacile, who was said to be in hiding, by phone, and both quoted him as saying the film was intended to show that "Islam is a cancer."
"This is a political movie," the AP quoted him as saying. "The U.S. lost a lot of money and a lot of people in wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, but we're fighting with ideas."
But by midday Wednesday, Bacile's credibility -- indeed his very existence -- were being questioned:
- The Atlantic quoted a man reported by the AP to be a consultant on the film, Steve Klein, as saying that “Bacile” is a pseudonym and that the filmmaker “is not Israeli and most likely not Jewish.”
Klein, a self-described militant Christian activist in Riverside, Calif., told the Atlantic he doesn’t know the man’s real name and indicated that the filmmaker contacted him because he leads anti-Islam protests outside mosques and schools.
- A source close to the cast and crew of the film told NBC News that the man known as Bacile misled the actors and production crew.
"The entire crew and cast are extremely upset and feel taken advantage of by the producer," the source said. "We are 100 percent not behind this film and were grossly misled about its intent and purpose. We are shocked by the drastic rewrites of the script and lies that were told to all involved. We are deeply saddened by the tragedies that have occurred."
- Israeli officials also told the AP that there is no record of an Israeli citizen named Sam Bacile.
- California corporate records show no one by that name as holding a real estate license there.
The 13-minute, English-language trailer was posted on YouTube in July by an account registered to Sam Bacile. The account, which was created in April, lists Bacile's age as 75 and has been used only twice apart from posting the trailer -- once to "like" another video and to make one comment, in Arabic. That comment, which referenced a debate on Egyptian TV over the "Innocence of Muslims" clip, was translated as, "Oh, Animal, it’s 100% an American movie."
The trailer shows an amateur cast performing a wooden dialogue of insults cast as revelations about Muhammad.
Many Muslims find it offensive to depict Muhammad in any manner, let alone insult the prophet. A Danish newspaper's 2005 publication of 12 caricatures of the prophet triggered riots in many Muslim countries.
The Journal reported the film had been promoted by Terry Jones, the Florida pastor whose burning of Qurans previously sparked deadly riots in Pakistan and other Muslim nations.
Jones, the pastor of the Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Fla., told NBC News on Wednesday that he aired the trailer once in his makeshift church. But he said efforts to screen it on Tuesday, the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, were thwarted by technical difficulties.
NBC's Kerry Sanders talks about the controversial pastor's history of provocative acts against Islam and how he may be tied to an inflammatory film that has sparked uproar within the global Muslim community.
"We tried to stream it … and every time we did that, it was cut off, disappeared,” he said.
A statement on the pastor’s political website, posted late Tuesday, said that the screening was to have been part of a day-long ‘International Judge Muhammad Day’ in which the Muslim prophet would be subjected to a mock trial for “promoting murder, rape, and destruction of people and property through his writings called the Koran.”
Jones also told NBC’s Kerry Sanders that he had been in contact with the movie’s producer, but did not provide financial support for its production or distribution.
The AP also reported that Morris Sadek, an Egyptian-born Coptic Christian in the United States known for his anti-Islam views, said he was promoting the video on his website and on certain TV stations, which he did not identify.
Although it was posted to YouTube in July, the film only attracted attention in the Middle East after an unknown person recently dubbed it into Egyptian Arabic. That translation, which the man who identified himself as Bacile told the AP was accurate, has been broadcast repeatedly on Egyptian media in recent weeks after being seized upon by extreme Islamists who dislike the presence of the country’s Coptic Christians.
NBC's Andrea Mitchell reports on the death of the U.S. ambassador to Libya in an attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi. The envoy is the first American ambassador killed on duty since 1979.
Film news site The Wrap said the Arabic-dubbed version had garnered more than 40,000 views by Tuesday afternoon. However, that clip appeared to have been taken down on Wednesday.
The AP quoted the man who identified himself as Bacile as saying that the film was made in the summer of 2011, with 59 actors and about 45 people behind the camera. The Journal quoted him as saying that the film cost $5 million, which was raised from about 100 Jewish donors, whom he declined to identify.
The man also told the AP that the full film, which he said is three hours in length, was shown only once, to a mostly empty theater in Hollywood earlier this year.
No record of such a screening could be found.
NBC News' Alfred Arian, Kerry Sanders and Bob Sullivan and the Associated Press contributed to this report.

Freedom of speech, remember?
However, I really wish that Israelis would not implicate the US in their religious wars.
Religious wars are going to kill the innocent.
Thou shalt not kill, we all agree with that religious law, don't we?
Then why do the religious defy their Gods? If they would all obey the laws of their Gods, the rest of the world would be safe from the religious fanatics that are placing the world in danger.
Sam Bacile is an IMBECILE. He knew that his film would cause trouble - that's why he made it. That said, the West should show Fundamentalist Islam exactly rhe same degree of tolerance they offer anyone else.
Israel is not implicating you/US in any religious wars. The YouTube trailer exceprt was played on Egyptian TV for days before 9/11- Egyptian security warned US of Imminent Threat- no extra US security at the Cairo Embassy- the embassy staffd and the Amb.Patterson were away from there before the paid Ultrarebels (soccer violence)antiMubaraks and MB/Nour protestors got on the scene. Who was the Inciter? Egyptian g'ment TV or some dude in CA making YouTube? Obama apologizing ditto Egypt/State personnel on their twitter tweets (now they are busy deleting tweets)-Libya- condolences to Ambassador J.Christopher Stevens' family ,the 3 other US foreign/consulate employees' families and the injured US diplomatic service member-speedy recovery and the Foggy Bottom family.US has not been informed yet that on 9/11 AQ Numero Uno Aiwan Al-Zawahiri released his own video commemorating 9/11 martyrs -warning American Muslims of their impeding Holocaust in a 53 min.video- we (me+amici )styrongly condemn any and all terrorism -their incitement on religious grounds -especially by Egyptian g'ment TV and Al-Jazeera- as agitators for violence- for intolerance of Freedoms (speech, religion.,assembly, inalienable rights of human beings)-for mass hysteria (reading/writing competence/comprehension..lack thereof). Obama's apologies were on the cyberspace for almost 18hrs- before he condemned the attacks on US Embassies/Consulate. At leadst State/HRC stronhly condemned said attacks-and the unwanton killing of US Diplomatic personnel and the debasement of US property under Diplomatic Protocol and their non-existent protecytion under said Protocols.
Freedom of speech does not extend to yelling "FIRE!" in a crowded theater. This man and the Egyptian Coptic who translated this film knew what violence it would incite because of their knowledge of the subject matter first hand. They get to go into hiding while others are killed in their cowardice. They should be tried for the murder of an American Diplomat and the destruction of property for their wrecklessness!
Dumb an now a cluster f__k.......A video of someone crapping on a crucifix would cause Christians to be upset as well (Southern states would lynch you)......Freedom of speech has intention behind it.....Just being a douche bag and hiding behind freedom of speech as it incites riots is silly. I'm Christian...and I think what is happening is antagonistic and politically motivated by right wing nutz. That pasture is a hateful clown and too stupid to realize how ashamed of him Christ would be. Wake up paranoid boy......
I think you are right Mimi...we should go to war......U guys are such a contradiction.....How is that fiscally responsible? Yes war in the whole middle east....or maybe just Afgan, Egypt and Lybia...but then what will we do with Iran an Syria? You must be mildly retarded if you do not understand the quagmire that they are trying to avoid so our economy exists in 10 years.....
This im-Bacile should at least have the guts to accept the consequences of his acts... If you instigate a fight the least you can do is take place in it, if not you are nothing but a coward.
At this moment he should be tried as accessory (if not instigator) of murder.
Those who would abuse their freedom of speech should use that privilege responsibly, when they abuse it they should lose it.
Paul: People who commit the murder should be tried for murder. Take a hard look at what happened. This is the Fundamentalist Islamic goal for the world--including you.
Peter: How would Christ look on Fundamentalist Islamists murdering people in the name of Allah? Have the Islamists been successful in bullying people--including you--to the point of fearful silence, or worse, to the point where you are doing their bidding for them by silencing their opposition?
More movies should be made showing how governments and people use religion to cause people to act in such violent ways.
There have been many movies done on even X-Rated movies Muhammad even a few guys named Muhammad made porn movies about Muhammad. I do not see where this movie is so bad.
The US should not be sending in more troops into the area just pull out and leave a phone number to call for help.
PeterDean said, "A video of someone crapping on a crucifix would cause Christians to be upset as well."
True...and the result would most likely have been a protest march, and a boycott of the business of whomever made the film. Do you honestly want to compare that with a large band of animals storming a country's embassy/consulate and killing people who had nothing to do with the making of a film?
Bacile is an idiot (or an im-Bacile...that was a good one, RamFla), plain and simple. But he did make one good point: the security at the embassies was p*ss poor. The second anyone tried to gain unauthorized entry, or the second anyone showed a weapon, the protestors should have been fired upon. Larger-numberes and more aggressive security is clearly needed.
Either the movie must reveal a lot of trueths about Islam or it strikes a cord and shows the violent nature Islam truely believes in. Otherwise they would not have killed anyone except the maybe the person responsible.
We as Americans should be able to say without fear of physical reprisal anything we want to about Islam. We should be able to go out and buy as many Korans as we want and burn them. It is our money that buys it making the book our property to do with as we please. We do not beholden the American people to the laws of religion. The people that react violently over the non-violent actions of burning a book or making a movie are the real criminals here. Anyone that wants to vilify a person for expressing their opinion in a way that causes no physical harm is being oppresive of that persons freedom. Those that killed the 4 Americans are the criminals and show just how violent their religion is. Honestly I think the Koran and Islam should be banned from the USA for its violent reactions to non-violent actions.
Actually DUMB@$$ all religions are a cancer.
Freedom of religion does not extend to killing the innocent.
Responsible behavior is a concept the religious can not grasp.
If we had real journalism someone would be looking into where the money came from. That is the ONLY real story.
So another right wing hate monger christian preacher, insults 1.6 billion people over and over. Then some other right wing hate mongers take to rioting and murder in reaction.
Then the preacher does it again with his film. So what did he think would happen? Free speech that you know will get people killed is murder. Like yelling fire in a crowded theater. So then brave Romney Bashes Obama like it's his fault and not the fault of said Right wing preacher. At the very least it is negligent Homicide on the part of the preacher. At worst premeditated murder as an accessory before the fact.
This guy who made this film should be put in prison for inciting a riot where people are killed. Withhold the film and everybody lives. He is guilty, I hope the Muslims get him. Being neither Christian nor Muslim I still respect the Holy Books of other religions. The Koran has many wonderful passages in it, my favorite begins, "In the remembrance of God, are the hearts set at rest...13:28"
Can we all agree that the most fanatical religious zealots are sadly the more ignorant, or shamefully, the most manipulative among us? That said, do we really have to support either the ignorant or the manipulative? We should mostly ignore them, and certainly not let them establish foreign policy for our great country.
Which brings us to Romney and Palin. Really? You would let the ignorant and manipulative provide your foreign policy agenda. Perhaps because you are also ignorant and manipulative? Shame on both of you. Go somewhere and pretend you are ruling a country of fellow ignorant fools. Feel important now?
The coward ignited the fire and now is hiding.
Freedom of speech is bad once you start speaking hate and encouraging hate. Irresponsible people abuse it and that has bad consequences for all of us.
You guys have forgotten the "art" exhibit in NY years ago that had a picture of the virgin Mary with dung on it and a crucifix sitting in a cup of urine. Guess how many people were murdered over that. Zero.
This horrible idiot, Bacile, is a damn coward.
And those who funded this project should be VERY AFRAID.... because their sensibilities were lost and they have no common sense.
Don't give me the "THEY DO IT"...because in this UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, we RESPECT the safety and honor of those serving overseas to protect US.
"Pastor" Terry Jones repeatedly attempted to cause dangerous international incidents.
I'm furious that good people had to die because of this inflammatory film that was always INTENDED TO PROMOTE VIOLENCE.
Drag Bacile out into the street... and let him rant his hate OVER THERE.
Let's call it like it is. These people need to be handled with a certain sensitivity. Like the angry family drunk that flies off the handle at anything.
What this director did is equivalent to throwing water on a grease fire. Go back to Israel and film your propaganda over there, you b@stard.
I fully support the freedom of speech....
I think Bacile should walk down a dark street in Harlem exercising his right by shouting the "N" word repeatedly.... Then we'll get back to him on his feelings of free speech...
Thank you Mr Bacile,
Your Shot-gun loaded with hate and disrespect backfired on you, and because of that ,3 American diplomats are dead!
Lybia or Egypt are not occupied Palestine, nor under the command of your puppets Mubarack or Ghadaffi anymore, capish?
This is exactly what is supposed to occur when you oppress, and ridicule other people's religion or race or status Etc etc.
You and your other Israeli cronies who funded your hateful movie Mr Bacile, created this situation, therefore you should be tried at an American Court of Law as being responsible for the deaths of these 3 American Diplomats.
There is another hateful youtubish style movie out there called Obama 2016.
On that film ( Obama ) is depicted by an Indian migrant as basically the antichrist itself ( Muslim, socialist, communist, hateful of rich people, anti-government, anti-business, etc, etc ) and setting the stage for muslims to take over the entire world as we know it.
It is obvious that no person of color would consent to run that film, a white person, would have been to obvious for the task, so the perfect fit for Obama 2016 was a migrant, who was given more breaks and opportunities in America, that our government give our own people here in our own soil!
Now, last but not least:
What party denomination you belong to Mr Bacil?
Democrat or Republican? Huhhhh?
Once again,
Thank you Mr Bacile for being responsible for the murder of 3 American Diplomats, and the destruccion of the American Embassy in Lybia, as well as the attack on the Embassy in Egypt!
I'm sure that the rest of the American People will thank you for it also Mr Bacil.
Yet again, this is another clear example of how not to " abuse " our freedom of expression rights in America, the first one being the disrespectful burning of "Any" flag, including ours.
Pay Attention America, between now and Nov 2nd, just pay close attention.
I hope Mr Bacil gets his day in an American Court sooner rather than later!
Rich spolied Real State Developer from California goes Hidding?
I have always said that the greatest number of atrocities in the history of mankind have been done in the name of God. That is, God and not any specific religion. The biggest reason for this is because religious nutcases will always do anything and hurt anyone to protect what they believe in and/or force their beliefs on the rest of us.
It is very easy to instigate a fight, especially when you do it from the comfort that your own home provides. This imbacile chooses to do this crap and call it freedom of speech. Freaking coward. Freedom of speech is all good and fine until someone gets hurt. After that is called accessory to murder.
The US government should pay him a visit and drop him off in the middle of Cairo, so he can face the consequences of his actions. Innocent lives lost and he says that the 'security is not good'. Ahole.
To all those who say this does not happen in America
What about the killings of the Sikhs last month?
What about the attacks on Muslims after 9-11 - still continuing to this day. Sharia law in IL as stated by Bachman and other reich wing bat-s**t crazies, etc.
oliverb actually before the advent of monotheistic religion (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) wars were fought for old fashion power, greed and national interest, most conquerors (Cyrus, Alexander, Caesar, etc) usually paid little attention to their enemies religion, often they would add their gods to their own pantheon. I think the problem starts when you tell others that their gods are not good, only yours is real and even when it is the same god, then they would fight about which is the best prophet.
See if you can mention any religious wars started by Buddhists or Taoists people.
@supercarp
That is because in NY people don't get caught up on this stuff. Just like this stupid film did not make a splash over here. In contrast, I would like to see how that exhibit would have been like in Alabama. I bet it would have been a similar reaction to what happened in Egypt.
If you disagree, go here (http://www.topgear.com/uk/tv-show/series-9/episode-3)
In this episode, 3 guys from a show in England get their cars stoned for having stuff written on their cars. The writings were about Hillary for President, Nascar sucks and something about approving gay love. Sounds ridiculous, but it is true. It is all about location, location, location.
What a f*cking jerk...
Even as hardened an American as I am; I find intentional disrespect of civil and religious liberties to be out-right moronic if not stupid....
The Ambassador in Lybia and his staff did not deserve to be taken out like that.....No one does!
AMERICA please don't fall asleep! The lying big mouth Muslim spitting cobras and piranhas (you know who you are) will paralyze you with their big mouths all the while plotting your execution.
It's important that we defend the truth, the number one enemy of Islam.
Number of Muslim terrorists on the planes that hit the World Trade Towers: 19
In this age of the Internet, we should all be more responsible for our actions and words and uphold the principles of the country we live in. We are all, after all, ambassadors of the U.S. And either we want to engage in peaceful diplomacy or provoke wars. We believe in freedom of religion...period. Whether it's Christianity, Islam, Mormonism, or Scientology. You can respect others beliefs without accepting it yourself.
This Bacile person who made this atrocious film will probably have to hide the rest of his life. He has caused the deaths of 4 people...needlessly, over his ego. He's an idiot and I'm waiting for Israel to condemn him and his work. I am shocked at how hateful and aggressive people can be about their intolerant opinions.
Apart from that, the response to such filth should not be senseless violence or murder. But I'm not naive; this kind of violence in response to provocation in sensitive environments have been going on since the world began. You'd just think we'd matured, as a human civilization, beyond this kind of behavior.
Wow, I see the weak defenses for freedom in the USA, but little condemnation for irrational violence. If Bacile is the perpetrator of these horrible deaths, but not the radical Islamists who actually did the murders, then when isn't it the fault of the USA, or its people, for any anti-USA activities around the world? Won't our enemies, in every case, simply blame the USA and its people, and so then won't you apologists refuse to hold those enemies responsible?
I am astounded at the intellectual inertness of most of the above posters. It is no coincidence that these attacks took place on September 11th. And, yet, the real blame you hold is for a preacher almost no one listens to, and a movie almost no one has seen. Do you honestly think radical muslims who hate you and would love to see your head cut off are really that emotionally injured that their pedophile prophet was insulted by someone in the USA, or does it seem more the case that they would use this as a pretext for violence in order to get you to blame us, and to limit our freedom, and to remove ourselves from the world stage for fear of insulting these poor and humble muslims?
Sorry, but almost all of you are wildly confused about what motivates radical Islamists. You are, unwittingly, working for them.
@justin.case
Get off the ledge. No one is blaming the republicans for this. For the record, you are all without faults and flawless. In this case, however, we can say that we blame a Jewish-American for this. No party affiliation is relevant. He is just a moron.
Just like anyone who would think that this somehow has anything to do with political views... think about it.
I find the comments here to be disgusting. These peace loving innocent Muslims attacked and killed our Ambassador is an act of war yet you so called Americans make excuses. So let me get this straight ,we can't say anything about Muslims because we'll hurt their feelings and that will cause rational behavior up to murder. It's time to accept the fact that even the so called good Muslims are now showing their true colors. Tolerance is a two way street, to accept any other way is cowardice
Yes ....Ohh christian Joe B.....Christ would say kill them....?? Is that what you are saying? Because the bible you are reading is different than mine....
They are all a lying bag of venomous snakes! Rich gets it. Let's not forget the people who have already been murdered in cold blood for speaking the truth about Islam.
Their hero Hitler also had a big mouth.
So if one person writes or acts out something bad about my religion I am justified to go out and kill some other random individual.
The criminals here are the people that actually killed people unrelated to the opinion.
The person expressing an opinion may be an idiot, but being an idiot is not a crime.
@Rich - STFU
Without a doubt these radicals are nothing short of scum. I do not believe there is one single person here that would disagree with you. Your comment is as idiotic to saying that you hate God if you do not include him in your agenda.
What a mind job you are.
Another clear act of Jewish provocation that results in Americans being harmed. Deport that bastard to Israel. Let him exercise his free speech in his own country.
"I feel the security system (at the embassies) is no good," said Bacile. "America should do something to change it."
Since the infamous cartoon a few years ago, we knew what would happen when you poke them with a stick. He sure doesn't seem to be accepting any responsibility for his actions. That's ok. He is alive and in hiding. It might be a good idea to lay low for quite a while.
wlee, not all Muslims killed those Americans. Once again, we condemn all people for the acts of a terrorist band. Should the Muslim world have condemned all Americans after one of our soldiers murdered several Afghan families in cold blood? What are you promoting? A decade of war? Nuclear solutions? Do you really think that will provide a better world for all of us to live in? Thank goodness you only write posts in forums and don't serve in our govt.
What a man, he's a bad sumbich!!!! LOL!!!!!
Start @!$%# than run and hide!!!
Your tirade only shows your total lack of knowledge of relgion and truth. Part of the problem the West has had is that the barbaric reigon was propped up by medleing politicians with high moral ideas at the turn of the 20th century. History shows that the Islamic religion is a cancer that effects all it touches.
The problem is that Westerers thing that because we believe in Christian based morals that others will share them if ony we give them a chance. Well the experiment has been tried time and time over again and always failed. There has been many moderate attempts to drag the religious zealots of Islam into modern society, but they would rather kill or be killed than to change, that, by definition, is called Fanatics of a Religious Cult.
Look at the person who is the inventor of Islam and wonder why the cult does not want to discuss him. He was a Criminal and a rapist and to speak of him is a crime because they would rather hide their shame than to be critisized. This explains the interpretation of the Hebrew text that they stole in the 7th cenury. Women will always be killed and persecuted based on Blind, ignorant faith in Islam. read and learn about Islam, because only information in truth is what they fear. But do not believe you will learn any truth on this news site.
When will the world wake up and destroy this cult before it destroys everyone else?? This is not likely since they were invited to pary for two hours at the DNC by invitation of Barry's organizers. This fact was not covered on the open news. People actually, were forced to go looking for truth in news rather than having truth being presented to us.
This is a delierate attept to secretly bring Islam to our culture. There is no other explanation as to why it was kept secret. He ordered a change in venue fo the last night of the DNC and blamed it on a thunderstorm, when the real reason was to hide the Muslims from view, and to divert the protestors that had been outside the DNC the prior two days.
Lazarus
Too many Americans have no spine, they keep blaming the producer of the film for murder. He did not commit murder. It is the street swine in Libya who committed the murders. Americans, you are being manipulated tremendously by the "politically correct" crowd. Islam teaches and firmly believes in this stuff, yet our own leadership denies this and ignores this fact. It reminds me of those who always blame the woman in a rape case. Put the blame where it belongs: the 7th century mentality of Islam.
Hey Doc, do you mean disrespect like when you wrote"...Religion in my own personal opinion, is the the greatest lie of all time. Where is this god when ya need him,...to hell with religion..."? back in August in response to a story about Evangelical Christians.
So I guess that makes you a "f*cking jerk..."? Sounds like a hypocrit to me.
@wlee
Have you ever fought a crazy person? No? And why is that? Because they are crazy and they do not fight by the rules, right? Thus, you leave crazy people alone.
In this country, we believe that because we are somewhat more tolerant of each other, that every other country/culture is the same. When that is not the case, we still do not accept that. We criticize them for being different. Understand. This is not about your opinions on what should be and what is. This is about religious extremists who acted the only way they believe they should. And at the base of it all... There is an !d!ot who instigated the fight. A fight with a crazy person.
This man is culpable for murder. He should stand trial - at least in a civil suit filed by the families.
ISLAM NEEDS AN EXORCISM!
Enough political correctness. How many Americans have been murdered by the hands of Jews - Max 108?
I in no way feel that Bacile should be prosecuted for his exercise of the freedom of speech. If we can not mock religion, or government, we are being censored. It is not at all the same as yelling 'fire'. As stated in the article he did not make the film in arabic. It was translated and then he verified it was translated correctly. Are we really going to bow to other countries at the price of freedom? If countries like this are so violent then we either need to pull the ambassaders or amp up security. Giving in to the steady loss of our freedoms is not an option. I don't care what religion or gov't is scrutinized. Other countries can't force us to bent our laws to suit their needs. And we definitely don't need to apologize. We need to tell other countries that the person was not giving the opinion of our country, but their personal opinion. I really hate to see the loss of life, and we really need to take a closer look at our presense in those countries and what security needs to be in place.
Quit being ignorant. Islam is not the enemy, racial intolerance is the enemy, and YOU latekate are an example of the problem. Would this whole violent episode have happened if people like YOU could just leave Muslims alone? I know a Muslim man, he is the most peaceful, friendly man I know, and that is no exaggeration. So get your stereotypes and your hatred in check, before you spur on more intolerance that only leads to violence and world less befitting for American values of liberty and justice for all.
latekate--you need an excorcism. Islam and those who practice Islam are not to blame for a few of their extremists. Shall we condemn Christianity for the extremists who bombed planned parenthood centers and killed doctors and nurses and patients? Should we condemn Israel & judaism because it rolled over an American woman who was protesting settlement plans in Gaza?
This movie was an Ego project fueled by hate and it has led to the deaths of four people and provoked terrorists to action. Shame on the Israelis that financed it.
Remember how Romney's grandfather had to flee to Mexico in order to exercise is religious freedom.
Just another example of how the US is taken hostage by Israel. I have absolutely no problem with Israel as a nation, but if you want want to fight some kind of ideological/religious war Jews vs. Muslims, move to Israel to do it. Don't implicate the US in it!
Someone made fun of their religion and they went out and killed innocent people. That proves the
story true. The fact is that this so call religion or cult, are killers and only believe in themselves, kill
everyone else. It's in the news everyday, wake up people.
Let me get this straight.
Because some idiots made this stupid film, it is THEIR fault that American embassies were attacked and Americans were killed.
You must know that anti-Christian, anti-Jewish, anti-American, and anti-Western video is shown on television in Muslim countries EVERY DAY!!
So, following the logic, if large mobs of Americans stormed mosques in THIS country, burning them and killing Muslims, then it would be the Muslims' fault, right?
Anyone thinking that this travesty occurring on the anniversary of 9/11 is a coincidence is delusional.
As has been noted, this film has been out there for over a year. It's a known fact that the radical Islamists keep a very close eye on ALL American media.
I believe that it wasn't the translation of this film that set off these attacks. That is just the EXCUSE they are using.
IMO, if they didn't have THIS "reason", the Islamists leadership would have come up with a different reason to perpetrate attacks on September 11th.
Their religion is just their EXCUSE, not their motivation.
Intolerance is the greatest problem religion helps to create. Divide people into groups and the result is this.
For all those of you supporting Bacile's rights let me ask you this. If you throw a lighted match into a pool of gasoline who is responsible for the fire? If you give an angry man a gun or knife knowing they are unstable who is responsible for any violence he does? If you hand a drunk the keys to a car who is responsible for the accident and possible deaths? There are limits to any freedoms. I have freedom of speech as do all Americans, but if I post military secrets you better believe I'd go to jail.
I believe Bacile knew what he was doing and knew this would cause problems. he may have underestimated what other religious zealots would do with it but that's no better defense than to say you gave the car keys to someone who was only a little drunk. And now, from hiding no less, he shakes his fist an keeps spouting his evil. While good American men and women are faced with cleaning up his mess. Good American men and women are now in danger because of him. The guy who is hiding under his bed screaming out his hatred. Like a defiant child.
So here's what I think we should do to help this brave soul. Drag him out from under his bed, strap a parachute to him, give him a DVD player and several copies of his little masterpiece and air drop him into the middle of Libya.
Holy cow, the crazies are coming outta the woodwork on this issue.
Guess I'll add my 2 cents... :-)
Bacile is an irresponsible instigator. Yes, he has the right to be an idiot, but that doesn't mean there aren't consequences for that. Too many people on here seem to think that "freedom of speech/expression" means they can behave like douchebags all they want and are somehow immune to any negative consequences whatsoever. Sorry, folks, it just ain't so.
Now, I don't believe Bacile should be put on trial or lynched or anything, but a good tail-kicking from people with more common sense than him would be in order. (Pastor Terry Jones and the entire Fred Phelps crowd have been campaigning for a whuppin' for years now -- I say we elect 'em.) At this point I don't care if Bacile goes into hiding, but he should be made to personally apologize to the families of everyone who was murdered. If he's not an American citizen, I'd have him deported. We've already got more than enough domestic rabble-rousers; we don't need more from other countries causing trouble for us, too.
As for the actual murderers, and the others who participated in the attacks on the consulate, I hope they're all caught and made to pay for what they've done. Probably won't happen, but I still hope it does. Something tells me that sooner or later they'll all end up on the wrong side of a gun barrel or drone strike or something eventually, as those who live by violence tend to have short lifespans.
Those of you preaching intolerance as the answer to others' intolerance need to go take a cold shower.
I dare you read it Massachusettz and No-Insight
The following is a partial list of acts of terrorism committed by Muslims for the purpose of achieving varying political and/or religious ends. The list uses the same inclusion criteria as the article Muslim terrorism and includes failed attempts that qualify these criteria. In total, there have been over 18,000 Islamic terrorist attacks since 2001.

Oh, come on, Sam Bacile! You and your supporters Princess Mitzi Romney, Lyin' Polly Ryan, and Sassypants Palin should man up and stage a great big film premiere gala in downtown Bengazi!
You're a big man, Sam! You made this film, so you can take the heat, and God knows Mitzi and Sassy P. are battle-hardened warriors who won't let anything bad happen to the likes of you!
As for non-violent Christians... Crusades, pogroms, Inquisition, anybody?
Hi oliverb,
As an atheist I have no idea what God you think I am speaking to. Nice try. No, the problem with this case is that people like you would prefer to excuse those who did the killings in favor of blaming those who merely offended then. And all of this in the context that no one is pulling the strings of those radical Islamists who did it. Must be the JOOOOOOOS!
Could it be, instead, that radical Islamists who seek the Caliphate, and who, in turn, want to subject you to it, are manipulating ignorant radicals in their own nations? Could it be that our money, billions per year, is (because of the fungibility of money) going to help finance the very people who would love to see your head removed from your shoulders?
This idea that if we merely leave everyone alone they will leave us alone is about as sane as it was in 3rd grade.
Sam Bacile and Terry Jones should both be thrown in jail Jones had been warned before that his hate speech and actions could put Americans in harms way. This should not be tolerated as free speech when they knew the potential of violence against Americans. Not only that but Sam Becile should be thown in jail for fraud against his film's investors, there is no way a movie that poorly produced could cost 5 million dollars to make. There is a special place in hell for these guys.
We should not spend 1 dollar of tax payer money to Hide this guy or provide police protection, The family members of the 4 that were killed should Sue this guy and the 100 people who helped finance this Krap (film).
The United States Govt should seize all of this guys assets to help pay the cost of repairs to the Embassy, You can say what you want in the United States but you better be prepared to cough up the $$$$ for your actions. Same Principal that you dont shout Fire in a Crowded Theater when there is no fire
What is the point of sticking your finger is someone's eye just because you can do it. Then when the fight breaks out, you go hide under a table. Back when I was in the military we use to call that cowardice, yet you consider him a hero. Does it occur to you that there's little difference between you and the fundamentalism Muslims you're obviously so frightened of? It appears you would kill (or worse let others do your killing for you) for no greater justification than those self-same fundamentalist Muslims.
Take a look in the mirror. The enemy may be closer than you think.
Well now, Let us see what our perfect democratic leader is going to do about this. Most likely he will apologize profusely to the Muslims and beg their forgiveness for an American committing this horrendous act. He might also offer to have the producer of this movie stoned to death by his Muslim cohorts in our government and will even have his Czars see to it that some Americans will be imprisoned for life and tortured to atone for this nasty film. And then he'll offer to donate a trillion tax dollars to the Brotherhood movement and pass a law which forbids Americans to speak ill of the Koran or Mo-ham-ed under threat of castration for men and stoning for women. (Maybe he'll just behead the women because they aren't even allowed to think.) 'Nuff said. FOO!!
How many people world-wide have been murdered in the name of Christ?
Kate - the issue is that thousands of rotten apples do not spoil a bunch of hundreds of millions. You need to remember that being American is to recognize freedom of religion, so your arguments are by definition un-American.
Nobody is condoning this violence. But to blame the religion rather than the idiotic people who committed those crimes is just wrong.
This is the stupidity from a group that condemn freedom of speech undermining our values, when someone speak against Muslims but not when is against Christians. So all this is our fault , the left side with Muslims in his attacks but support desecrating image of Jesus , calling Art and freedom of speech only because Christians do not kill other that ofend them. I guess if Christian start killing people that speak against them others will stop offendg their religion . However this is not going to happened because Christian is a religion of peace.
Ole-Ed
Boy you are old aren't you? The President has already condemned the attacks and stated the we are working with the government of Libya to hunt down and bring the terrorists to justice. By the way; the reports are stating it was the Libyan people who stepped in and fought back against the Terrorists, carried the Ambassador to the hospital and aided several other Americans at the embassy.
But don't let the truth stop your Neo-Conservative right-wing rant. The truth never does.
Hi Melissa,
I'm not sure of Christian pogroms, so could you explain which you mean? The Crusades were a reply to Islamic violence in The Holy Lands, specifically the killing of all Christians in Jerusalem and sealing off the city from pilgrims. I'd say war in that case is justified. Don't you? The Inquisition is the only fair point you make, and it was 500 years ago, not anywhere close to today, like what is happening TODAY. And the Christian Reform kind of did away with the Inquisition anyhow. Show me the reform movement within Islam, please.
Prosecute this @!$%#er under one of California's many hate-crime laws.
More like Sam "im"Bacile.
redvirginia
You have provide possibly the most idiotic rant I've seen today. Are you really so brainwashed as to believe that:
1. Any American, regardless of political affiliation would side with Terrorists in an attack against an American Embassy? Wait, of course you are...you are a Neo-Con.
2. The left support desecration of Christian images? I have never in my life supported desecrating images of Jesus, nor have I call that art.
3. You state "I guess Christian need to start killing people that speak against them so they stop offending their religion." - Christians have done that for nearly 2,000 years. Ever hear of the"forced conversions" of northern Europe, the inquisitions, the conquest of Latin America, the witch hunts, forced conversion of Pacific Islanders? Forced conversion and murder of Native Americans by "Christian Missionaries"? If you're going to threaten people with Christian violence in the name of Christ...you're a little late.
blah blah blah... What's the matter, where's the ACLU to defend this person?
Blaming him for these deaths is like saying, "Well, you shouldn't have worn that Charger's jersey into Oakland, you deserved to get shot!"
You lose my support the second you bow to the absurd by saying, "Ohhhh nooooo, they'll be TOO mad, you can't speak your mind!" The people to blame are the ones that decided to climb walls and kill, not the person that made a glorified YouTube video.
If you cannot handle ONE person's viewpoint, or think you have the right to riot because someone takes a shot at your prophets, then you should be put down like a rabid dog or thrown in a cage with the other animals.
These people were looking for a reason to shed blood, they are to blame for their own actions.
Freedom of speech comes with some grave responsibilities. If you're going to tout this particular freedom when mocking ideals that others hold sacred, you should be prepared for the consequences. Four people are now dead because this man chose to exercise his "freedom."
So Israel is trying to drag the US into a war with the Muslim world. Time to cut ALL ties.
Watching the Israeli leaders demanding the the US do something about Iran or they will. then go ahead and do it. They are quick to demand US blood and money go and get into another war. This simply a means of pushing it over the edge?
C'mon Kate...them muzlims is just blowin' off a little steam. I mean, they aren't allowed to have any decent fun like drinkin', MTV, beastial porn and all like that. What else can they do except go out and kill a few "infidels" for some diversion after tending the camels all day? But seriously, it seems to me like we have whole countries of people with "developmental issues" and maybe seriously low IQ's? It doesn't seem to me like they can grasp complex ideas...like maybe disagreeing instead of homocide. It's just like some of the other idiots (can I still use that term?) in Africa that destroy everything..even what would be beneficial to themselves just to deprive the other guy. Ya know...you could talk to a coyote all day about how it would be nice for him to get along with the sheep and guess what? Well there you go.
Hi Ol_Doc,
I don't know that anyone has an answer to your question, but my guess is that very few have been killed in the name of Christ, just as few are killed in the name of Muhammed. People wanting power or land or money have killed and used Christ as a reason, though it was mostly internecine in nature.
Far more people, WAY more people, have been killed for other, more straightforward reasons, like territory. But one underlying factor that always seems to get a pass is atheism. Sad too, since I am an atheist, that in the last century over 100 million people died under atheistic rule. Despots and totalitarians come in all shapes and sizes, religions too. I don't think it advances our discussion to pretend Christianity is somehow evil in order to delude ourselves into thinking that radical Islamists are not our enemy.
In 1989, Indian-born British author Salman Rushdie was sentenced to death for blasphemy by Iranian leader Ayatollah Khomeini for Rushdie's depiction of Muhammad as a businessman in his novel The Satanic Verses. An Iranian businessman offered a $3 million reward to anyone carrying out the sentence against Rushdie. Other Islamic scholars followed suit, providing similar fatwa (legal pronouncement in Islam made by a mufti). In 1989, Khomeini died, making the fatwa permanent to those who follow his teaching. In 1991, Hitoshi Igarashi, the book's Japanese translator, was murdered at the university where he taught in Tsukuba, Ibaraki, 60 kilometres north of Tokyo. The book's Italian translator was beaten and stabbed in Milan. William Nygaard, the Norwegian publisher was shot in 1993. Thirty-seven people, who had come to listen to a speech by the translator and publisher (of some parts of the book) Aziz Nesin, a well-known satirist, perished when the hotel where they had gathered was torched in Sivas, Turkey.
The post-Khomeini Iranian government, while maintaining that the fatwa cannot be reversed, promised only in 1998 to dissociate itself from it. Rushdie stayed in hiding under police protection for several years.
In May 1994, a fatwa on Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasrin came after she was quoted in The Statesman that "…the Koran should be revised thoroughly." This follows attacks and persecution of Nasrin for her 1993 book Lajja (Bangla word for 'shame').
In 1997 Tatyana Suskin (also spelled Tatiana Soskin) was apprehended in Hebron while attempting to attach to an Arab storefront a drawing she had made depicting Muhammad as a pig reading the Koran. The incident created considerable tension, and she received a two year sentence.
In 1998 Ghulam Akbar, a Shi'a Muslim, was convicted, in a Rahim Yar Khan court, of uttering derogatory remarks against Muhammad in 1995 and sentenced to death. He was the first to receive such a sentence under Section 295(c) of the Pakistani penal code.
In August 2000 a Lahore court sentenced Abdul Hasnain Muhammad Yusuf Ali to death and 35 years' imprisonment for "defiling the name of Muhammad" under Section 295(a), 295(c), and 298.
In 2001, prior to 9/11, American magazine Time printed an illustration of Muhammad along with the Archangel Gabriel waiting for a message from God. The magazine apologized for printing the illustration after widespread protests in Kashmir.[
In August 2002, Italian police reported that they had disrupted a terrorist plot to destroy a church in Bologna, Italy, which contains a 15th century fresco depicting an image of Muhammad.
In November 2002 an article in the Nigerian ThisDay newspaper prior to the upcoming Miss World pageant, suggesting Muhammad would have chosen one of the contestants as his bride, sparked riots that eventually claimed over 200 lives.
In December 2002 Pulitzer Prize winner Doug Marlette published a drawing that showed Muhammad driving a Ryder truck, with a nuclear rocket attached. He received more than 4,500 e-mails from angry Muslims, some with threats of death and mutilation.
In 2004, Dutch film maker Theo van Gogh and Ayaan Hirsi Ali created the 10-minute film Submission. The film is about violence against women in Islamic societies. It shows four abused women, wearing see-through dresses. Qur'anic verses allegedly unfavourable to women in Arabic are painted on their bodies. After the movie was released, both van Gogh and Hirsi Ali received death threats. Van Gogh was stabbed and shot dead on November 2, 2004, in Amsterdam by Mohammed Bouyeri. A note he left impaled on Van Gogh's chest threatened Western governments, Jews and Hirsi Ali (who went into hiding).
In September 2005 the Tate Britain gallery decided not to display a work by John Latham entitled God Is Great #2, made ten years previously, which consisted in part of a Koran, a Bible and a Talmud that had been disassembled. The exhibition was close to the time of the July 7, 2005 London bombings which influenced the Tate's decision.
In September 2005, the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten printed twelve cartoons of Mohammed which, four months later and fueled by interested parties, eventually led to massive unrest in the Muslim world (including more than 100 deaths), burnt embassies and international tension. In London, protestors carried signs reading, "Behead those who Insult Islam".
In February 2006, activist Manfred van H. was convicted in Germany and sentenced to one year of prison on probation for mailing toilet paper stamped with "The holy Qur'an" to mosques and the media.
In July 2007, Swedish artist Lars Vilks participated in an art exhibition themed "The Dog in Art" by portraying Muhammad as a roundabout dog. He has subsequently received death threats and had to move out from his home (refer to article Lars Vilks Muhammad drawings controversy for more information).
In September 2007, a Bangladeshi newspaper published a comic that referred to Muhammad. Copies of the newspaper were torched and the cartoonist has been arrested.[
In November 2007, Unity High School in Sudan came under attention after a teacher at the school was accused of allowing the class to name a teddy bear Muhammad. The teacher was convicted of insulting Islam and was subject to death threats.[31][32] The teacher was pardoned by Sudan's President Omar al-Bashir on 3 December.
In December 2007, Mariwan Halabjaee, the Iraqi Kurdish author of Sex, Sharia and Women in the History of Islam, who resided in Norway, was convicted in absentia in Iraqi Kurdistan for the crime of blasphemy.[34] A court in Halabja sentenced Halabjaee to prison for writing that the prophet Mohammed had 19 wives, married a 9-year-old when he was 54 years old, and committed murder and rape.[35]Halabjaee remains in Norway. The sentence states that Halabjaee will be arrested upon his return to Iraqi Kurdistan.
Fitna, a film by Dutch politician Geert Wilders which claims the Koran incites violence was met with calls to block and censor the film's showing. "The correct Sharia (Islamic law) response is to cut (off) his head and let him follow his predecessor, van Gogh, to hell," a member of Al-Ekhlaas wrote.
Gregorius Nekschot, a Dutch cartoonist collaborator of Theo van Gogh who was arrested on May 13, 2008. His house was searched by ten policemen and his computer and sketch books were confiscated. He was held in jail for interrogation and was made to remove eight cartoons from his website at the request of the public prosecutor for being discriminatory for Muslims. The Netherlands police in a "project hatecrimes" ready to file complaints about cartoons.
In 2010, the New York City Metropolitan Museum of Art quietly withdrew all images of Mohammed from display out of fear of some Muslims who say the images are blasphemous. Kishwar Rizvi, an Islamic art expert at Yale University, said "Museums shouldn't shy away from showing this in a historical context".[41]
Keeninsight, so murdering an Ambassador is not an act of war then what is it? Did I say nuke these scumbags? Your excuse making is what makes me sick, hope you feel adequate walking around on eggshells worrying about offending everyone you come in contact with. The bottom line is that these are Muslims from a country that supposedly is our friend, so where are the GOOD Muslims, where do we draw the line, where's the justice for these families of the murdered. Cut off all aid deport there Ambassador do something besides apologizing.
Max, lets deport you to any Muslim country of your choice, I'll even throw in for your ticket. Long live Israel and the Jewish people. I wish I could say the same for Muslims, but until a real leader steps up that isn't going to happen
Bacile is "defiant" at the expense of innocent US citizens, easy targets amidst the insanity that is the Muslim world...had he produced/ released such a film in his homeland of Israel, we would probably be reading about his non-existence &/or great havoc and destruction in Israel. Go home, Bacile. You take advantage of our freedom of speech.
Some Muslims would kill rather than get their feelings hurt. Think about what that says - they are so arrogant, self-righteous, and feel so morally superior that a movie is enough to make them kill.
And the U.S. wonders why democracy will not take root in the Middle East.
Islam is a tumor. Sometimes it is benign, sometimes malignant, but still a tumor. Who really thinks having a tumor in any capacity is a good thing?
Hi Scalzo and AL,
I think the reality here isn't that Israel wants to drag the USA into a war, but that the USA has made statements about the timing of an attack (implied) which varies with what Israel is prepared to do. We want to wait, for what I'm not really sure--maybe to let Iran have nuclear weapons?--and Israel wants to move more rapidly. A good way for the USA to extricate itself from the mess Mr. Obama has made here is to simply say that Iran can not be allowed nuclear weapons, that it is seeking nuclear weapons, and that because of Iran's efforts to conceal their program from the IAEA it would be understandable that any interested nation act on their own timeline.
Hey Pedestrian,
So, Christians (I am not one) who hold their God and their Bible and Jesus and so on sacred, which the left has often denigrated in the USA, should start killing those who offend them so they will stop? What kind of pathetic logic is this? Why is it okay for Muslims, but not Christians? How about we go about this on a different path. Let's imagine that the USA stands for liberty, including the liberty to say things which might make someone else angry. And that we respect the right of the aggrieved party to be angry. But when the aggrieved party then kills our Ambassador and three staffers we will find them, their supporters too, and kill them?
Which atheistic regimes killed over 100 million people? I don't believe Stalin, Pol Pot and Mao added together would equal 100 million. I agree that most of those who claimed to kill in the name of Christ or Allah or Yahwah or Kali or Marx or whoever actually killed for another purpose (wealth, territory and/or control) but then IMHO the purpose of religion is control. Therefore regardless of the deities teachings, the killing still fulfills the purpose of the religion...control and the accumulation of personal/organizational wealth.
All of those claiming anyone is foolish for not handling the muslims with care had better never make another complaint about any other type of immigrant coming to America.
The man who made this film is not a hero, but the violence committed in the name of Islam as a result of this is not his fault. It is the fault of Islam that teaches it is okay to kill for this. It is better that the world should know that this evil exists then to be blissfully ignorant till one day this evil arises to put the sword to your throat.
Muslim's have no problem depicting in an insulting manner religious leaders and people of other religions. In Muslim countries Nazi and anti-semitic propaganda abounds, and yet no one says boo, but dare anyone in the world be critical of Islam then suddenly there are riots and murders. These riots and murders really just prove how right the people being critical of Islam are.
I am upset with Hillary Clinton's quoted comment (different article) that condemned the person who made the video. Where was the condemnation of deliberate murder. Wake up world, there is a large group of Muslims who would have no problem killing anyone who does not conform to their world view and this is a group that is growing fast all over the world. We can all live in bliss but the way things are going, at some point in the future there will be mass religious war waged by the Muslims against the rest of this world.
Consider this one thing... How many muslim countries are there that non-muslim groups thrive in and feel secure to express their religions and ideas? I can't think of too many. In many muslim countries the existence of other religions is slowly becoming nil. But if you consider it the other way, how many non-muslim countries are there that allow muslims to openly practice their religion and muslims are thriving and growing in. The answer is pretty much every one.
If we could just worship and cherish the difference in each other we would be honoring the living God within ourselves no matter what name we call Him. Our wars are not for who's God is greater. We need to stop lying to ourselves in order to stop wasting our lives.
Wow, people. Lots of ignorance and apologizing on both sides of this "debate".
First of all, Bacile is an Israeli Jew, according to his own statements to Fox News (I just checked the story over there! GO read it yourselves!) He had the funding and support of approximately 50 other Jews in the making of this film.
This is NOT a "Christian vs. Muslim" issue. This entire situation was fomented by an Israeli national, living in America, who purposely made this offensive film in order to incite anger and hostility in the Muslim community. So, yeah, there's a lot of blame to go around here.
Of course the people who perpetrated these violent actions should be arrested and tried in a court of law for their crimes. They do not get a free pass because they are young and angry.
By the same token, I was thinking it would be a good idea to create a film (poorly produced, as this was apparently) showing Jesus having rugged gay sex after He rips a few babies out of their wombs and pisses on an American flag. I'm just not sure whether it would be more appropriate to have Jesus be the pitcher or the catcher.......
THEN, we can show the film in some backwater scumbag part of the deep south and see who gets pissed! Wouldn't that be fun??? I'm assuming there will be NO violence or vandalism because we all know that our Christians are lovely peaceful people no matter how great the offense, right?
THEN, I would wholeheartedly expect my fellow posters on this forum will rush to my defense, and claim I was only promoting my freedom of speech. No harm, no foul, right?
If I'm upset over anything (other than the untimely death of our diplomats and staff) it's that the Libyan (not "Lybian") thugs ought to have targeted Israel's embassies all over the world, not the American ones. Sam Bacile may be living in OUR country, but he is not an American. Doesn't that upset some you pro-Israeli warmongering goons?? The country you seem to love more than the one you were born in is the same country trying to foment middle east conflicts as opposed to preventing them. How many of YOU will volunteer to be cannon fodder in the next ME war??
And as for the muslims...get a f--king life. Find better, less violent ways to alleviate your frustration when you are offended. Here, in America, we build character in knowing how to brush off criticism, unless you are a fundamentalist evangelical.....[sigh]
Anywhoo, let the flame wars begin!!! Have a nice day!!!
Really good post. Islam is given special treatment ONLY because these people ARE the biggest bullies on the block. The left feels free to bash Christianity all they want because at the end of the day, they know that Christianity IS a peaceful religion and Christians won't storm embassies and kill people. The WORST thing we can do is give in to their tantrums and insist that we curtail OUR freedom for fear of offending THEM. That's not how freedom of speech works. It is THEY who must learn to deal with criticism and face the consequences of their reactions. This video didn't incite this killing. Their religious teaching incited it by requiring a certain reaction from them.
If we have a right to burn the flag or the bible in the USA, then we also have the right to burn the Koran. And those who are offended by it need to learn to deal with it because that's what freedom is all about. If I don't like what you do, then it's MY problem, not yours.
And they call this unbiased journalism? The reporter simple states these are insults, and implies they are unsubstantiated claims against Islam, without giving examples. And to be honest, I don't know enough about the history of Islam to discount what I've seen in the Trailers. But I know enough to know it is plausible. We need Myth Busters on the case. ;-)
@ peter dean #1.4
Is anyone in this room (besides me) old enough to remember the "Piss Christ"? And while it caused protests (mainly against the NEftA for spending tax dollars on "Religious Defamation") and death threats, no actual violence came from it (except that the exhibition was vandalized in France and Australia). And the Religious leaders, while trying to ban the exhibition of this POS "so called art", they also called on people to refrain from violence(if memory serves) Where are the Imams on this?
But other than that Peter, your post makes no sense. I can name several instances when liberals or Muslims said and did inflammatory things, (e.g.The Mosque at Ground Zero) and hid behind the 1st Amendment, and Christian Conservatives don't violently protest, killing innocent people.
And please explain "That pasture is a hateful clown and too stupid to realize how ashamed of him Christ would be." Did you mean PASTOR? and What PASTOR?
And just how many of these protestors will be tried, convicted, and punished for killing Americans?
Islam is a primitive un-evolved religion for primitive un-evolved people, plain and simple. I know this will get collapsed because it is fact, and not opinion. (Proof: Simply follow the evolution of civilizations and empires from Egypt, Persia, Mesopotamia,* Greece, Rome, Spain, France, England and Germany, *Splitting and going to India, Mongolia, China and Japan. Do a Wikipedia search GDP per Capita)
Some thing to consider and think about. There were many peace loving, decent Germans in Deutschland in 1939, (thru 1945), as a matter of fact the were a whole bunch of them. They did nothing to stop the horrors their leaders and a minority of others of their nation foisted upon the world. And in fact, probably contributed to the war effort, at least in some small way. So, were they Innocent?
{Another thing to consider, many Germans still loved Hitler after the war was over. I find it very disturbing that anyone would "love" their leader, they should of course respect a leader, but not love. If you do not understand this, you are liberal idiot, a minion.}
There were many peace loving, decent Japanese in Nippon in 1939, (thru 1945), as a matter of fact the were a whole bunch of them. They did nothing to stop the horrors their leaders and a minority of others of their nation foisted upon the world. And in fact, probably contributed to the war effort, at least in some small way. So, were they Innocent?
There were many peace loving, decent Muslims, in these USA, as a matter of fact the were a whole bunch of them....or at least that is what the MSM and liberals would have us believe.
Only when Muslims take up arms against these terrorist, and I am not talking about Americans (who happen to be Muslim) I am talking about Saudi Arabia, Jordon, Egypt, Pakistan and the Muslims in the US as a whole (dictate to their young men, they must enlist to fight) Then I will believe that we are not in a war with Islam, but are in a war against radical idealism.
In this country, we have had the same things going on. White supremacist groups that burn Black churches are an example of this. So called Christians that make statements of a hatred nature need to check themselves. this man knew what he was doing. this was planned from the word go. He is not an American citizen. And, yes he is indeed a coward for going into hiding. But please explain to me what could President Obama have done to stop this attack? Mitt Romney blames the President for this attack. As usual, no respect for this man at all. The sad part about this is that he(Mitt Romney) agrees with the attackers. And this is the man that wants to be our leader? Riiiiiiight!
4 people dead because this chicken @!$%# ass hates Isalm, now hiding so his sorry ass will not get kicked or killed. Produce @!$%# like this and own up to it. You where pretty brave up until the @!$%# hit the fan.
It's safe to say that most religion's ultimate goal is to be the ONE TRUE religion...That said, I've attended services to most Christian denomonations, Jewish, Mormon (Christian?) and a few others throughout my life. The one thing I noticed is; there are very few differences. Aside from the expected conduct and the strict tenates of some religions there really are no substantial differences below who the "Prophet" of that particular sect is, and his story.
According to the Bible, the Tora and the Karan, the basics of the Ten Commandments (the Christian version) are adhered to. The major difference in most cases is; the adherance is directed to follower's treatment of other followers, and not "infidels". Christian religions tend to be the same way, although, not necessarily in the US because of our inherant belief in religious freedom, of course that only applies to areas where one religion does not dominate an entire community.
Ignorance and the manipulation of the interpretations is what gets people into trouble, and THAT is what is going on with the Muslim religion. Someone mentioned earlier in this discussion that before these three religions, Wars were fought for old fashioned greed and expansion." Well, most wars now are still fought for the same reason.
The difference; now the dictators and the greedy fight under the guise of religion. Bin Laden targetted the US, not because of any legitimate religious reason, but for "old fashioned" vengeance. He used the Muslim religion to manipulate Saudi, Afghan, Yemenese, Iranian and Iraqi Muslims to do his bidding.
The mentally deficient, ignorant, poor and uneducated followed his direction through religious misdirection, a promise that their families would be looked after, or in the case of those who committed suicide for the "cause", a place next to Mohammed in heaven.
It's unfortunate that Islamists promote the violence and chaos in regard to those who don't share their views. They are far from the only ones. They happen to be the most outspoken, or prone to kill at the slightest provocation.
The shame should be placed on the Imams who support this behavior. They are the ones who are accountable for inflaming their followers, it's their teachings that promote it. And, it's a shame that "peaceful" Imams sit by and allow their piers to continue to act this way. The same goes for leaders in every other religion who allow for "ONE TRUE RELIGION". There is "ONE TRUE GOD" and ALL one-God religions recognize him. THAT is what should be the focus, not the petty differences.
The author of this "Movie" should not be condemned or prosecuted for his views. He is, however, responsible for what he should have known, would insite the response it did. I don't have to like what you have to say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it. But, remember, that ONLY applies here in the US.
Whoever posted the Arabic translations is the one who should be held accountable, since it was that and where it was posted that they knew would insite the behavior. We lost good people for NOTHING!
Its good to see all you losers saying this guy should be blamed for murder and what not. How about we blame the army of nutz that killed and destroyed the embassy and the workers there. At least this guy had the guts to make a film and put himself at risk, ducking when people are throwing stones just makes sense. That said if it was me I would be outside cleaning my shotgun waiting for the first moron to show up.
If the man is so proud of his "art" why is he in hiding? Come on out brave boy, you should be out in person promoting your film....and why not start promoting in Libya???
Typical bully....all bluster, but really a wuss inside!
People don't seem to get that these people are of the 16th century and so they don't value tolerance any more than the west did during the DarkAges. Don't expect them to behave any better. I sincerley hope that Terry Jones and Mr. Bacile have very"interesting" lives.
Here is another interesting point to consider, for a long time during the slave years, it was considered for slaves to be taught to read and write against the law. Those that did were either put to death or given the cruel act of having their tongues removed. This from a nation that places value on freedom. Yes we are a mighty nation. I am proud to have been born here. But we need to stop "choosing to be hypocritical in the ideas that we put forth as a "Christian nation". Putting down a religion and then calling yourself "holier than Thou is not the way to go. "Judge ye not. Lest ye be judged".
OK Imbecile is supposedly in hiding so why not go pick up the preacher Jones and charge him with reckless endangerment and a dozen other charges and hold these people accountable for what they caused, freedom of speech does not give someone the right to endanger peoples lives, don't tell me he cant be charged with at least wrongful death.
And the President has to demand that all appropriate arrest are made in Libya. and the responsible persons be brought to trial and sentences carried out. and we should have nothing to do with that country till they do. its not like we would be losing anything if they did not comply. Egypt handled it better, but it shows where they may have problems with their hot head Cleric's.
Through otu history, How many "Christians" killed in the name of Christ? So don't be casting stones.
@the other guy, Just WTF are you babbling about, how does that micro chip you call a brain work without power, you are so far off base you are not even in the right century you are two centuries off location. get over it. talk about spilling your milk.
You wen't back two centuries to find that.
To those of you who think that Islam is trying to make the whole world Islamic, I say you got that wrong! It is those of the Christian faith that is doing just that1 You do not see Islamic people in this country with missions in poor parts of our country trying to convert them, you do not see them going to England or any of the other countries where Christianity is the majority trying to convert any one. But what you do see, is Christians going to other nations trying to get them to convert to their religion. This has been going on since the beginning of history. I have yet to hear of any for example people form Sudan, Congo, or any of the other African countries coming here to convert Americans to their religion. But go to these other countries, and You will find missionaries. This is not to say that we should not go to these countries and give them help in the form of medicine, or teach them how to read or teach them about sanitation, or anything that will help them to become independent, I am saying leave their religion in tact and stay out of their religious life.
This murderous gang that was 'incited' by a movie are extortionists and murders. Any excuse will set them off. Look at Pakistan where a Christian child is attacked by a mob because an Iman claimed she had burnt pages from the Koran. So sorry, there is no excuse for this sort of violence, if you're offended, then protest and yell and whatever but don't destroy. murder and maim.
If you have to spend your life being afraid of 'offending' a group then that group is using extortion, violence and murder as weapons. The 'film maker' may have exercised poor judgement, however, what the 'film' did was expose the hypocrisy and brutality of those easily offended 'followers of Allah.' To make excuses for the violence is beyond absurd, no Christians are out setting fire to embassys and murdering people when Christ is dunked in urine, covered in feces and and ants and depicted in all manner of lewd actions.
Not one of the defenders of this mob is noticing the murders of homosexuals in Iraq. How awful to be a leftist these days, defenders of radical Islam must be suffering from some major mental disconnect.
An act of war against who? I find this as reprehensible as anyone, but what happened there was mob mentality. It wasn't sanctioned by a government nor was it ordered by the Grand Caliph of Islam - because there is no central leadership in the Islamic faith or even among the Sunnis. The people who were murdered had absolutely no connection to this film. Nor did the United States government.
For the US to go and retaliate by bombing some Libyan village would make us as bad as the mob that attacked our diplomatic mission. No point in making it more senseless.
@D buck I can see by the size of your brain that you are not able to understand anything that I have written. so I must tell you as I do my grand child, read it again and it will make sense to you. this is if you can get by without being insulting. Unless you are what you are calling me. there are no microchips in my brain how about yours?
@ Barlow #1.16
So your answer is censorship? What would you say if a bunch of conservatives went after Gore, for all the lies he told during "An Inconvenient Truth", rioting and killing liberals in Hollywood? Should we charge Gore for inciting a riot? I could go on...but I think we see what is really going on.
This SOB Bacile should be hand a FOUR life sentence for the deliberate assassination of these four American diplomats. He clearly knew what he was doing, would incite violence and puts Americans at risk around the world.
P.S.
Funny how this piece of SH!T is in hiding...and I thought he was courageous for what he did :)
@D buck Talk about spilling milk, are you still on the farm or have you made it to the city yet? Apparently not. Judging by the way you are speaking. Is there any true education in your head or are you just posing to have some? Whether what I am referring to happened two centuries ago or not, the fact is that it happened. And in this country, some of us are still suffering. You are trying to pretend that this country has no sins and that is not the point. But I guess you missed that point. Get over yourself and learn to read . Then make a comment . You might just sound a little more intelligent.
All Christians are good, peace-loving people. Look at the Rwanda massacres in 1994. Look at the Jasenovac concentration camp in WW 2 run by a Franciscan friar.
our embassy there and in Egypt and in all middle east crap holes need Dilion Aero M-134's and a bunch of them. Problem solved
Your analogy leaves out one important aspect ... the line is not drawn at yelling fire in a crowded theatre, but FALSELY yelling fire. It is not a crime to yell fire if there is indeed one present, or if one believes that that is.
But, this didn't occur in a crowded theatre. The whole film might be a work of fiction, but that's protected under the First Amendment, even if it gets people angry. In fact, the First Amendment wouldn't mean much if only popular speech were protected.
The blame is on the extremist not some random film maker. To even try to blame it on him is Anti-American in every possible way
No hiding! He dealt the cards, now he has to play his hand. Whoever knows where he is should inform him of his responsibility.
Freedom of speech does not apply to speech that results in the deaths of innocents. The film seems no better than yelling "fire" in a theater except doing it thousands of miles from where it caused harm.
Do they think they get a gold star in heaven for making this film? Cause I don't think so.
Those "radical Islamists" are no more religious than the Tea Party...they are just petty tyrants, cut from the same cloth.
Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm .... The presidents response was considerate & appropriate.... Fee speech does not allow you to yell "FIRE!" in a crowded theater.
But more importantly, society doesn't allow anyone to start a "fire" responsible for the death of others, and use the excuse you were just trying to stay warm, the theater was to cold.
Bacile & Sadek, with conscious aforethought decided to start this fire, under the guise of free speech, and put everyone else in the world in danger because of their belief that, "Islam is a cancer on the world."
Adolf Hitler thought Jews were the cancer of Germany and promoted and attempted their extermination (the Holocaust) and was repudiated by the his defeat in WW11 ... all should review the propaganda films produced during this period to see the reliance .... and one of these men was a Israeli Jew, knowing full well the repercussions that these propaganda films had on the masses in Germany and the axis occupied territories ... proceeded with a film that :
Respect for others religious beliefs is the very backbone of American social structure ... our culture is made up from the diversity that evolved from this blending;(being next to, people that were different than ourselves) yet had those same human characteristics, that make us recognize, .... we all are the same. These men...Bacile & Sadek ... have for their own reasons chosen to "Disturb the Peace" and "incite to riot" people of a different faith than themselves. This "Overt Act" under the guise of "freedom of speech is unacceptable under any excuse ..
(Please note that according to the story this film played to a empty house in Hollywood ...)
The war mongers are out in great numbers, I see, willing to drag us into another conflict over a few deaths, willing to give up thousands of lives, and divest more of our treasury, to satisfy their ego! I often wonder whose interest they really represent ... it's surely not that of the American people that I know! I wonder if they are compatriots of Bacile & Sadek .. they certainly are similar in their ultimate goal .... get the United States into another War!
Bacile & Sadek need to thrown under the bus .. their "free speech" cry is specious and without merit!
Hal, killing our Ambassador and attacking our embassy is an act of war, the Govt. of these countries knew in advance about these protests and did nothing to prevent them. Where did I say anything about bombing them. I believe my response was to cut off all aid and expel their Ambassador
For those who believe this man should be jailed I have a question for you. Do you feel the same way about the SEAL who wrote the book recently?????
This movie director was only voicing his ideas and should not be punished for those who react violently to it. Would you prosecute a movie director for killing someone after watching a movie because it mad them angry or how about when defense attorneys try to use the story of the music caused them to act violently or the video game made them do it?
What about the old saying of "sticks and stones may break my bones but NAMES will never hurt me"? I guess that is not taught in Egypt or Lybia especially isnce they still use stoning as a method of punishment.
@truthbe known Thank you! You've restored my faith that not all Americans are complete pussies. Sadly, most of the other comments on here (looking at anyone retreading the BS "You can't yell fire in a movie theater!" argument) only confirm what cowards the majority of Americans have become. Oh noes! We better not call out how medieval the Muslims, are....they might get butt hurt and kill us!
Toil for the brave! The brave that are no more.

Here's an idea. Why don't Mormons get together and violently attack Broadway and Comedy Central, and then the apologists on the left can jail Trey Parker and Matt Stone for inciting violence. Or what if the DNC was attacked my a large mob of wacko Christians because DNC County Chair said Christians just want Jews there so they can be slaughtered? Would all of you that are condemning the filmmakers and wanting them to pay feel the same way? If not, you are a bunch of hypocrites!
@ JohnBrowning #1.116
Just exactly when did anyone from the TEA Party riot and destroy property and MURDER people? Just exactly when has anyone from the TEA Party been anything but peaceful and respectful(with in the limits of political discourse) during any of their rallies? In fact, have the TEA party rallies not been polite affairs? Do the members of the TEA Party actually pick up after themselves, when the rallies are over? (compare that to any Liberal Demonstration)
If anyone from America is cut from that bolt of clothe, it is the OWS and other liberal organizations.
And it is sad that you defile the name of a great American. If you were even a tenth of percent of the man your name sake was, you would know not to say such things. I would say shame on you, but you know not what shame is, because, first you must know what honor is.
Apologies for what?
Thousand of Americans died for our rights among of them freedom of speech. Ambassaddor Stevens is another victim of our freedom he is a martyr , like many Chirtians martyrs died in the coliseum because they beleive in Jesus. We must continue fighting , no apologizing untill we win over the intolerance of Islamic groups.
And he is really accepting NO responsibility for the reaction to his film? Just another of those Israeli/Arab (Jewish/Muslim) battles that I wonder why we are even involved in. Let the two religions battle their own war on their own lands, not fueled by Israeli-Americans/Arab-Americans.
News flash: He's sharing a room in the Ecuadorian embassy with Julian Assange.
I agree Islam is a cancer. One the world will have to one day deal with.
religion is the cancer..all of them
and intolerance is the worst cancer of all... One day you must deal with it Larry
the differance is israel isnt trying to force the whole world to do thier religion, and islamradicals is trying to make islam the only religion and obame is more then willing to allow islam radicals to do what they do instead of sticking buy our strongest ally, and helping that dr. who helped the U.S.,no other president the U.S.had would patronise the muslum brotherhood or any other terrorist group, now this guy has to go in hiding, good job obame, your putting the U.S. and other countries and people in harms way,if george bush did even 1 one thousandth of what you are doing half of america would be trying to get him for treason and anyother thing they can think of
Seriously? Whwt about that "Judge not lest ye be judged" part of your bible? How about turn the other cheek, throw no stones at glass houses, the golden rule etc? These people think they are Christians, but are really worshipping a false premise of g-d. How about the rape, murder and destruction of property BY CHRISTIANS throughout the middle ages ALL THE WAY UP TO the fighting in the U.K. between Catholics and Protestants which didn't end until the 1990s? These dudes, Bacile and Jones, are making a mockery of their own religion while insulting the rest of the world along the way. The American way of life is doomed because of people like this. Ya know, it is also freedom FROM religion, not just freedom Of religion!
9:16 AM, who wants to bet how long it takes to collapse this comment?
I wonder who are his donors. If I were them I might be a little worried.
For you religious crazies...Our forefathers separated church and state...So if you don't like it please leave this country...Second....I want to let you in on a little known fact...Thomas Jefferson rewrote the bible an called it "The Morale teaching of Jesus Christ" he took out all the miracles and hocus pocus and focused on the heart of Christ's teachings. Ben Franklin said that religion was a stain on mankind.....So if you think that you understand what this country is about and that even our forefathers would think you are fricken crazy then you live in a fantasy land and need to open a book and educate yourself. The garbage you are selling is not what this country is about....Being hateful of other religions and beliefs is not our fore fathers ideology....To hide behind freedom of speech so you can be hateful was not the intent of its creation.
Tolerance of things you know are a lie is delusion. Let's not tolerate that. This "intolerance" cry is getting really tired and boring to listen to.
ok, that is fine Peter, since you seem to be keeper of the yet to be certified and proved facts, but by that token you should be lashing out about what an outrage this bunch of religious whacko muslims are and how they are a stain on the earth. So if you are going to judge all Christians and Jews in that manner, then you better name off all Buddhist, Muslims, shieks, hindus because they are religions too and have their beliefs and of course you are the only one in the world that is right while everyone else is wrong. Talk about a massive bigot
The nazis said the same thing about Jews. His remarks do a lot to undo the stigma of bashing an entire religion, which will come back to haunt him and other Jews elsewhere. You can't exactly say that it was wrong for Nazis, and wrong for others, to be anti-semitic when you call all people of another religion a cancer.
Now, the bigger picture here is that this film is clearly meant to incite Muslims; and who will be forced to fight against them? Americans. This man is an Israeli; he can incite Muslims comfortably, k nowing that his country will not shed blood fighting in Iran or elsewhere. He has no problem, I'm sure, inciting Muslims and letting American soldiers die. What would he care about Christian American soldiers? There are political goals to be met.
As Peter Dean stated, the U.S. is not a theocracy. It is not a Christian govt. The people who objected to God being featured in the Democratic platform, in my view, were correct. In this country, religion should be a personal matter not one of governments. We are not a nation of Christians fighting countries of other religions and forcing our religion on others to civilize savages.
Tracy....If you don't understand the concept of judging a whole region of the world based on this incident or the select few past incidents of a few extremists then this conversation is pointless.....My yet unproven facts are easily googalable...feel free......Separation of church and state.....Do u understand what that means? Look up the history of King James while you are at it.....and when you do....Know that I am smiling as you read it.....
Tracy, usually I let this stuff past me, but you state Peter is, :"keeper of the yet to be certified and proved facts"- If that comment is about Jefferson and Franklin, ( and most of the signers of the Declaration-who were deists) ARE factual. In fact, George Washington and many U.S. "forefathers" also believed that religion should be kept out of government. Throwing names such as massive bigot at someone who is pointing out SOME Americans obvious cognitive dissonance is merely projection.
FROM: freethought.mbdojo.com/foundingfathers.html
Let me get this straight. This reaction is to a home-made youtube video produced by an individual, not the U.S. gov't or a sponsered or recoganized religion. And the reaction is to storm US embassy walls, burn US flags replacing it with an Islamic Jihad flag, killing Americans including the Ambassador who was and is directly involved with securing their freedom by removing a dictator using American and International forces and billions in resources to do so and continuing to support their so called Arab Spring movement with more billions. doesn't this tell us that we're being played for chumps by forces that will take full advantage of American good will but kill us the first chance they get. It's obvious that these Islamist extremists were waiting for any provocation at all by anybody to serve their sick Islamist justice on innocent American lives.
dave, read my comment #6.10 which addresses your allegations: basically, why do you assume that these people who stormed the embassy are doing their OWN bidding, 19th centruy history shows us thay MAY HAVE been paid agitators. the real question is, paid by WHOM?
@Jeff159216
You are a pathetic atheist a$$hole to make such a disgusting statement. It shows your own stupidity, hatefullness and irrationality of these demented people who murdered in the name of allah. FOO!!
Peter, but that is what you have done by saying those very things about Christians and Jews. I am simply stating to do one you must do the other or you are the largest bigot ever. I am glad you are smiling, most challenged do sit and smile a lot.
Tracy, reding comprehension doesn't appear to be your strong suit. NOWHERE in Peters post is he: "judging a whole region of the world based on this incident or the select few past incidents of a few extremists". In fact, this is what he said:
To parse his words: "religious crazies"= while offensive, is offensive to ALL RELIGIOUS CRAZIES.
" if you don't like it please leave this country"- While also offensive, I can't count with Romneys 10,000 dollars how many times ON THIS FORUM I have been told to "move to xxxcountry") just for defending WHAT the Constitution SAYS, rather than what SOME people's interpretations are.
"even our forefathers would think you are fricken crazy"- Well, James Madison (4th President of the U.S> and often referred to as "the father of the constitution") said:"The purpose of separation of church and state is to keep forever from these shores the ceaseless strife that has soaked the soil of Europe in blood for centuries." -1803 letter objecting use of gov. land for churches
So, I repeat Peter's final thoughts:
Anyone who murders in the name of a god is indeed demented. That includes those who murder in the name of Christ. In fact, considering the nature of Christ's teachings, I'd say they are even more demented and will no doubt smoke a turd in hell.
as some have posted on this thread....
Follow the money...
Who are the backers of this real estate developer who decided to produce a stupid movie that is the source of violence against the US?
Who is this guy and his millionaire donors?
The Second Amendment is freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM religion. It means that the state cannot force us to practice a particular religion, kinda like the Muslim countries. Why don't you actually READ it and come back with intelligent comments!
Linda M-311663
Seems to me you are splitting hairs. Freedom of religion would of course include freedom FROM religion...which also means that the state can not force us to practice ANY religion. . . Strange post in my opinion.
Linda, Hmmmm, that would be the FIRST Amendment:
FROM: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
And, it has been interpreted by legal scholras as both, freedom FROM religion: "respecting an establishment of religion" AND freedom OF religion: " prohibiting the free exercise thereof"
So, in your words: "Why don't you actually READ it and come back with intelligent comments!"
Ever think you might being "Manipulated?"
Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm .... The presidents response was considerate & appropriate.... Fee speech does not allow you to yell "FIRE!" in a crowded theater.

I too think the 2nd amendment is sacred, but maybe not quite a religion.
Anti-trust, you must be an ignoramus. Jewish v Muslim? How about the Copts killed in Egypt? The Christians burned in their churches in Nigeria? The Christians killed in Pakistan? The Hindus killed in Pakistan and in India?
You either have your head in the sand or so far up your ass it's ridiculous.
Moonbeam, so you mean only "non-offensive to anyone free speech?"
Well, as a woman I'm offended by porn. Do you go advise me to kill you for watching it? You know you do, male or female as you are.
anti-trust proponent
Quit blaming the guy who made the film, blame the maniacs who attacked the ambassies. It doesn't matter if he was jew, or if he had been christian, or buddhist, or anything else. Do you not see what your atttitude towards him leads to? It leads to all of us losing the right to express ourselves, it leads to us turning against each other, and blaming each other for the actions of a bunch of nut jobs brainwashed maniacs and murderers. What you are saying is that he shouldn't have made the film because it made fanatic muslims angry, what I say is that he had all rights to make any movie he wanted about any religious figure he wanted, its called freedom of expression.
Certainly we should respect each other's beliefs, but we shouldn't fear for our lives if we want to denounce violence and injustice.
Again I say, blame the maniacs who attacked the ambassies, not the guy who made the film about Muhammad. People are already "walking on eggs" here because they are afraid of retaliation from extremist muslims if they so much as say one bad word about Muhammad. Enough already.
Are you kidding me? Anyone who kills people because of a stupid YouTube video (which is always crap) cant be sane. We should have let these people deal with their own fights instead of putting our nose into their little war of religion like we always do. We go over there to "help" people and they kill our men..seems kind of stupid on our part. At what point do we feel responsible for these people? What kind of religion would have a God that promotes that kind of stupidity? They should seriously find what group did this and blow their asses all too hell so they can join their beloved mohammad.. Hey atleast they can say they were blown up in the sake of religion since thats what they like to do, we will just assist alittle.
Hateful speech against Muslims and Islam has to end and Terry Jones needs to disappear in to thin air, how many more people have to die because of that stupid man and others like him.
I just love all of the xenophobia and anti-obama comments. It shows how truly ignorant, naive and how big of morons you fools are. This act is almost as foolish as those Christian domestic terrorists that bomb abortion clinics or kill abortion doctors in church. All religious TERRORISTS (church bombers, taliban and Westboro sheeple) need to be deported from the US (A country founded on religious freedom including the choice to not believe in religion) and the fools who choose to follow them blindly must be sent to a remote deserted island to create a new and just society. For those of you who are religious and know that it is a personal thing and not one to be foisted upon others I admire your conviction because you get grouped with the radical christians/muslims/jews eventhough you keep your religious faith to yourself.
I hope a Federal Investigation is launched to find all those people involved with the making of this hateful, racist film. Those who show it & promote it also, including Terry Jones who is a 'Shock-Jock' minister, just trying to get attention. Because of his actions, foreign citizens died in riots incited by his burning of the Koran. Now, 4 innocent Americans have paid the price for his & the makers of this films hateful beliefs and remarks. Even though they have the right to Free Speech, they do not have the right to spew racist, hateful remarks that are intended to humiliate and desecrate. Please find them guilty, punish them & shut them up!
Apparently, many people on here believe freedom from insult trumps freedom of speech, unless of course it is Mormons or Christians being insulted, then it's OK. How many of you have spoken out against South Park episodes or The Book of Mormon musical? Not many, I am guessing (I haven't seen the musical, but the South Park was hilarious).
Oh, I get it. If the Christians want to not be mocked or insulted, they have to revert back a few hundred years and start attacking people who insult them en mass (as opposed to the "lone wolf" that will commit an act of despicable violence in this country on rare occasions).
4 people died because of this twits provocation but he made sure to cover his own ass really well.
This one is looking bad. Very questionable credentials on the people that made this. Of course it wouldn't be by the current administration. There is no way any of this could cast a favorable light on the President.
Which leads us to wonder, who made this? Maybe the same people that pounced on it about the same time as it was made public, or even before????? Maybe . . . Satan? (Sorry, had to insert Church Lady reference)
Let's do some digging here. We may have a real bona fide Romneycare level screwup here, and one that actually killed some Americans. Wouldn't that be great PR for the baggers and Chicken Hawks.
There's a big difference between free and HATE SPEECH.
Victoria: You mean like Jesse Jackson talking about Hymie Town and Farrukhan talking about "white devils" and calling Judaism a "gutter religion?" Black Panthers refusing to let whites in to vote? Muslims in Dearborn Michigan attacking peaceful Christian protesters?
Should we prosecute them? Or do you only mean anti-Muslim speech? Huh? Which is it?
VTbob... occasional acts of violence from Christians on abortion doctors and clinics are OK? Have you forgotten the crusades, inquisition or the salem witch hunts? Yes, these occurred in the past but this illustrates that eventhough the bible preaches against violence many violent activities have been undertaken in the name of Christianity. One example of GOOD Christianity is MLK... who preached non-violence.
Why is there violence against abortion clinics? Because christians believe abortion is murder and therefore against their tenets. Islam believes that ANY depiction of Muhammed is blasphemy so it is OK in your mind that when christian beliefs are attacked violence is OK but the same does not hold true for Islam. NICE DOUBLE STANDARD. In addition, yelling fire in a crowded theatre is NOT free speech... WHY? Because this type of speech can cause harm. So, to carry that sentiment to conclusion means that depicting Muhammad can also be deemed as having the potential to cause harm and is therefore also a form of limited free speech. In either case, the muslim who killed the ambassador are reprehensible human being and need to be caught and punished severely. Muslims, what happened to an eye for eye where a crime is punished at the same level as the offense?
BOOOOYAHHHH
FOX: the more you watch the less you know. How many people died because of those so called statements?
My sympathies to the families of lives lost.
Definitely; OBAMA 2012
Where is Dick Cheney ?
Where is Carl Rove ?
Does anyone else notice that the so called "Sam Bacile" is in hiding and Cheney and Rove can't be found ?
But Obama is right out front and center coming close to apologizing to the perpetrators. "Sorry our freedoms made you do this! Hope you didn't catch a hangnail on the trigger!"
I've been really understanding of muslim, and my initial response was like many such as "dam savages, why are we helping them". But seeing these images changed my mind...... when you think about it, it does sound more like a terrorist act in the guise of protest......
http://imgur.com/a/tlCyI
Please share! we don't need another unnecessary war!
Those muslimist are a bunch of infidel beings anyway, easy to get beserk and balistic. Is ok if they do it to ther beliefers s long as is not done to them. Sure they are wackos and can't get long fine with other religion. perhaps they should update to the 21st century instead of still living as a 7th century savage babaric cult founded by a pedophile. that dead sentence is only way to have others follow. Blasphemy rule is what this cult wants.
Hey Northstar DFL You idiot, New News, they are finding out who really is behind this so called movie. Care to guess Now.
oliverb
The biggest reason for this is because religious nutcases will always do anything and hurt anyone to protect what they believe in and/or force their beliefs on the rest of us.
So I guess it's OK that the U.S. Force our beliefs onto the rest of the world right?
The idiot that made this film knew exactly what kind of reaction they would get from those that follow Islam. Also, this person or persons who made this film that portrayed in it, scripted, edited and translated the language of the film should be arrested and put away in prison for a long time. The list of charges should be as follows:
Inciting a riot with the intent to cause property damage and bodily harm.
facilitating a riot with intent to cause murder.
falsifying public records with intent to commit fraud.
Accessory to murder with criminal intent.
This should be among the charges that should be filed. Lets see what freedom of speech says about that.
There are limits to freedom of speech. This one should not have even made it to public viewing
notlibcorn, I never said violence against abortion clinics was OK. In fact I referred to it as dispicable violence by lone wolfs. How many preachers hav eyou heard call for violence against abortion clinincs? Very few, although there is an occaisional idiot doing just that. But by many of the posts on here, it should be OK if abortions offend the religious nuts on the right? I was just pointing out the hypocrisy of the left calling for retribution on the filmmakers for exercisng what is supposed to be one of our gauranteed rights.
It seems you are the one with the double standard!
Maybe you misunderstood my point... Violence caused by ANY religion is wrong and anathema to the most basic tenets of the major religions (Judiasm, Christianity and Islam). Yes, all three holy books sometimes refer to using violence in certain situations but those, like some of the US's older laws, really don't/shouldn't apply in our "civilized" society.
Mocking someone's religion is NOT the same as purposefully antagonizing a religion. Free speech has its limits, as I said previously. You can be brought up on charges for yelling "Fire" in a crowded theatre... is that not a violation of the sanctity of free speech? The reasoning behind the justification for the charges in this case are sound... your free speech (aka yelling "fire") has the POTENTIAL to cause harm and is therefore against the public good. The same principle holds true for what the IDIOT video-maker did by depicting Muhammad. It is WELL known that ANY depiction, be it in a positive or negative way, is a grave insult to muslims. I do NOT condone the violence perpetrated by those mad at the depiction but The only reason this jackass made the movie was to be a "shock-jock" idiot suffering from xenophobia and a distinct lack of common sense and intelligence.
THE MOVIE TRAILER IS HERE ON YOUTUBE PASTE THIS AFTER THE DOT COM /watch?v=GtMUs1O3xsI
First my prayers go out to the family of the US Ambassador and the other Americans that were murdered because of this idiot film maker.
Yes in this country you have the protected freedom of speech which four generations of my family have personally fought for, regrettably at time this freedom even protects idiots that don't care or think about what their actions could possibly do to others.
This idiot if he is so passionate about his cause shouldn't be afraid to stand for what he believes out in the open, put your face on TV - by going into hiding your just a coward in my book.
As for others trying to make political points out of this tragedy - I think it is extremely shameful. We should all try to cool the flames instead of stoking them. I personally prefer Peace over War. I have no doubt that American is the strongest country in the world and will always stand up for itself and its interest, however, I don't think we need to be out puffing our chests and flexing our muscles everytime so riot breaks "Strengthe through Silence" meaning don't give the enemy a platform for their hatred and grievances.
^pretty much agree, but isn't anyone going to comment about the ridiculous level of retaliation over this being played? If someone did this kind of movie about Roman Catholics, or Methodist, or Jews, or.....what am I saying, it has been done, was there a worldwide outbreak of rioting and terror? I don't think so. Not agreeing with the "film maker" but also not agreeing with the response. It would make the muslims sects involved appear as if they are just waiting in the weeds for a reason to riot. I am not saying all sects are like this, but some are known to be.
I would not waste one moment of my time to watch this type of trash.
The interesting thing is before this atrocity yesterday, very few people had heard of the movie. Now all of America (and probably a lot of Europe) knows about it. So, if is so very wrong to insult the founder of Islam, why would you want an insulting film to get even wider circulation?
Completely agree. Saw a post earlier in the day that recommended (paraphrasing here) a "world wide make fun of Muhammad month", the idea being that afterwards maybe Islam will grow some thicker skin and not freak out and kill people anytime someone badmouths their prophet.
Anyway, just appeasing them by not EVER mentioning Muhammad in a bad way is ridiculous. They just need to grow up and learn to ignore the criticism if they can't take it.
Tracy-2712120 we all should know by now the level of intolerance and ignorance coming from the Muslim world, we hold the highest moral ground about social development, democracy and tolerance, we should know better. This idiot is a coward provoker as the Danish that published Mohammed's cartoons.
We should leave the Muslims alone to eat their own dirt.
You guys are missing the d*** point here. Once again, an innocent US civilian has been murdered for something he had no involvement in. Radical Islam is absolutely a cancer. We should carpet bomb the entire city
The film maker did not kill anyone. It was a small group of people who did not like the opinion of one man, so they decided to kill others for it. By this logic, anyone of our citizens that decides to storm an embassy of a nation that had one of it's citizens speak out against us, is not at fault.
So are you going to decide who are the idiots and should therefore have thier right to free speech taken away? Is it anyone that fans the flames of hate through speech? Or just those that you choose to disagree with? There is nothing regrettable about anyone, even the idiots, exercising their right to free speech. As long as they can do it, it means we all can.
This strong talk coming from some one who is typing these strong words behind a computer. If you are so passionate about this, go and find him. Hand him over to the murderers and that should make everything ok. Don't think to many other citizens are going to like the idea of one of our own being handed to criminals to appease thier hatred for us.
There is nothing political about this. It's religion. It's my GOD is better then your GOD and you will either agree with me or we will have to fight. No we shouldn't puff our chests and flex our muscles everytime a riot breaks out, but defending the lives of Americans who had nothing to do with either side of this argument is still ok, right?
Yes, we should leave muslims alone...so the radicals can fly planes into our buildings. Freedom of speech is PARAMOUNT to assuring a true democracy. Who should be the judge of what is and isn't allowed to be said? The conservative right? The far left? If that is the case, anyone in power could outlaw criticism, leading to fascisim. It has been done many times in history. Repugnant speech is still protected and a cornerstone of our great country.
Funny, the religious right believes life begins at conception, yet they are mocked and ridiculed by the left when they try to protect what they see as a human life. It seems religious tolerence and respect that the left calls for does not extend to their own countrymen.
There have been countless anti-christian movies, books, articles, etc in the last 20 years. How many resulted in large mobs attacking and killing people? And before you go there, this is completely different than 1 or 2 hate filled murderers attacking a Sikh temple or burning a Mosque. Those were done by so called "loan wolfs". These attackes were orchestrated by a much large segment of the muslim community.
Did you ever hear of "fighting words", it happens here all the time. No one should mock someone else; you must be aware of bullying and what happens. Your comments are insane and do not and cannot reflect any values of Christianity or America.
The Jewish people respect their "God"; and you never seen a movie here depicting Jews in the same light as this movie evidently depicted Muslims and their religion. You don't insult and bully other peoples; all you John Wayne and Clint Eastwood fans like them, why - because they punch first and ask questions later; but you think others will put up with degrading insults at all times condemning them, their way of life, and their religion, as well as their very essence; and you see nothing wrong with that.
Tolerance is a 2-way street, and respect and caring for all life is the true meaning of religion.
@inthemiddle - Great idea! Carpet bomb an entire city killing thousands of innocents (the vast majority) and perpetrators alike, because four innocent Americans were killed. You are worse than those you condemn!
stopbs, so what was the intent of your quotes around"God". Were you mocking the Jewish beliefs? What about the similar comments I see in your recent posts? Would it be understandable if someone attacked you physically for the lack of respect for others' beliefs, or are you a hypocrite? Funny, it seems many people who mock or denegrate Christians are also attacking the film makers for doing the same to Muslims.
It's clear by reading your post your are not a fool so please don't insult our intelligence by playing the fool to make your point. You know as well as everyone on this site that the man who made this film knew "exactly" what he was doing and exactly what the repercussions would be. It is illegal to incite a riot, perhaps the statutes should be updated to include inciting a terrorist attack. Perhaps a stretch in GTMO would help the author to understand something our service members and diplomats who risk their lives every day already know "freedom isn't free".
As a member of the religious right, you are free to believe what you want to believe. When you try to either change the secular laws that affect us all or perpetrate violence against others based on your religious beliefs, you cross the line. It's as simple and complex as that.
It is illegal to incite a riot, but it was the radical Muslims that incited the riot because the filmmaker insulted their religion. The filmmaker just gave them an excuse. I was pointing out that many people on here blaming the filmmaker insult the Christian right on a regular basis. So if the Christians reverted back a few hundred years and started offing people who insulted them, you would blame the people being killed?
Even repugnant speech is and should be protected. Otherwise, what is OK to say today (such as Bush is a Nazi, or Obama is a Nazi) may become illegal, if the ones in power deem it offensive. One of the many thing our forefathers had right. We, as one people (if we still can consider ourselves that) should, with one voice, condemn the violence and support the filmmaker's right to be in an idiot if he so chooses.
And Doc, FYI, I am not a member of the religious right. I am a moderate that supports same sex marriage (otherwise we are discriminating against a group of people who are hurting noone), I do not believe life starts at conception, but I do believe that late term abortions are repugnant, and I believe many fundamentalists completely miss the meaning of Jesus' message.
Tolerance is BS. I'm an American and as an American I can have my own opinion about whom ever and what ever I want without the fear of someone killing me because they disagree. However if push comes to shove, it is my, and your right as Americans to defend the principles of the constitution. If the government won't do it, we replace them with someone who will.
Self Educated Voter
NO they were not murdered because of this "idiot" film maker, they were murdered because a bunch of maniacs killed them. As you said yourself we have freedom of expression in this country. Your attitude leads to us turning against each other, instead of blaming the murderers. The film maker had all rights to express himself about Muhammad, and anything and everything else. The extremist muslims DO NOT make the rules in this country, if we let them dictate what we can and cannot do and say, what is next? Lets take away our freedom of expression bit by bit because it offends some fanatic brainwashed maniac somewhere in another country? F*** that.
We (including peaceful muslims) have to stand together against extremist muslims, not turn against each other, and not let them take away our freedom of expression.
Anyone who wants to make a movie, or write a book, or draw a cartoon, about Muhammad, or any other religious figure, has the right to do so. In fact he was courageous to do so, he knew that there would be some nut jobs somewhere who would threaten his life if he expressed his opinion about Muhammad. If they have too many fanatics over there, to where we can't express ourselves here in America, without fearing for the personel in our ambassies, we need to close these ambassies, and say goodbye, see you when you grow some common sense and tolerance, and are able to manage your anger and reaction whenever someone does or say something that offends you.
My prayers and thoughts also go to the people murdered at the ambassy. God bless them and their families.

Radical Islam is absolutely a cancer. We should carpet bomb the entire city
*****************************************************
I think you skipped over the 'middle' part and went straight to nuclear war.
Just ahunch - Elisar Cabrera?
Last name "Bacile" - spell it backwards and you get "elicab"
Google "elicab" and you find out it's the Twitter handle of Elisar Cabrera, the ... wait for it ... filmmaker.
They're comming to get you stupid
Bacile is responsible for inciting riots that claimed the lives of four people. He knew what the response of muslims would be. He defiantly stands by his beliefs but has gone into hiding apparently expecting the American military will deal with the aftermath of his ignorance and prejudice. Come on Bacile - man up and face your critics and stop hiding behind unarmed diplomats.
It seems that Bacle and Netanyahu are giving the republicans their "october surprise", stirring up @!$%# in the middle east to force President Obama to make a choice between war or peace right before the election. I hope the American people can see this for what it is. But unfortunately the every present propaganda machine will stoke the fire continuously until we are renaming our fast food once again. "would you like freedom fries with that big mac?". Itruly thought we would have become more emotionally evolved by this point in history,
I say if Israel wants to go to war with the entire world's islamic community then they are on their own, they only talk tough because they have their body guard, America, to back them up. Take off the training wheels and let them stand or fall on their own.
^Double Dumb- you are an idiot, it was made in 2011, they are just now reacting, you gonna blame the republicans for islams slow response too. Stop putting out party line and think for a second
I'm sure this guy is a repub, a Californian real estate developer sure, so this is a repub dirty trick? This movie has been out since 2011, and just now, a short time before our election, it is causing all this humbug. Four Americans dead, Romney is right ready to pounce, seems like a set up to me.
I hope that the families of those killed will be able to find some measure of comfort and the dead will be able to rest in peace.
Last night, as our Ambassador's lifeless nude body was being PASSED around the streets overhead like a drunk sorority girl at a Florida State University football game, our President was apologizing for this film having angered Muslims. I REALLY hope that Obozo is enjoying his "Arab Spring". If anyone has ANY doubts about Obama being our most incompetent President ever, this should be the clear answer! I imagine his solution will, once again, be to pass around free iPods to world leaders pre-recorded with his favorite tunes.
Care to post a link to his "apology"? Or did you just read it in a spam email?
You are right on, Will. I don't understand the spin on "the big apology". It is for people (sheeple) like Rick that this is being whipped up. Rick, I would love a response to Will. Maybe you will actually read the responses and educate yourself.
Hey Anita, and Bodydouble care to check the latest news, and see who is responsible for your iditotic comments. Anita, why don't you "man" up behind your Burka. Any lame excuse for violence, and finger pointing
THE MOVIE TRAILER IS HERE (YOUTUBE) /watch?v=GtMUs1O3xsI
Why give any credit to the trailer by even going there? That is the problem with all of these youtube postings. People put up all kinds of hate-filled junk and then take NO responsibility for reactions to the postings.
I agree, there's a lot of hate filled junk out there, but no thinking person reacts to it by destroying and killing. Imagine a mob of angry American Catholics burning the British Embassy in Washington and killing an official there because an obscure person in England makes a film mocking the Pope?
All the emphasis in this instance is being put on "not offending" Muslims, yet it sometimes takes very little TO offend some of them. A woman in Iraq wants to marry the man she loves? Offended! A man in Egypt is gay? Offended! Non-Muslims want to build a place of worship in Afghanistan? Offended! Muslims and non-Muslims suggest that Islam join the modern world? Offended! A man in Denmark draws a picture of their prophet? Offended!
Muslims (in parts of the world) need to grow up, stop throwing tantrums, and stop threatening, beating, jailing and killing non-Muslims and even fellow Muslims over alleged offenses against Islam. Until they do, their extreme positions will be met with equally extreme derision, especially in the west, where we protect free speech, however unpleasant. The ball is in their court and always has been.
Romney would stoop so low as to blame this on Obama. That's not American. This country is not all lily white on riots that people were killed in.
I was in the post office a few days ago and a white, blonde haired American female was making statements that we should have a revolution and kill all those people who are supressing her rights. And we are supposed to be the country that has grown up beyone that point. As I walked past her I told her to remember when you start shooting that the U.S. Government will have to shoot back and they have bigger guns. But her mind set was very disturbing to me.
#5.2 and all, do you ever think that maybe the people who stormed the embassys were "agents provocateurs"- either paid or goaded emotionally into these riots? or worse yet, that some nations "secret service forces" were actually the ones which did the storming and killing? Couldn't happen? look up world history, it has happened more than people wish to admit. Bay of Pigs, Chilian dictators, Iranian shahs, the list is practically endless.
FROM: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1953_Iranian_coup_d'%C3%A9tat
Anyone who writes or passes on any postings using the generalized term Muslim is as un thinking as any one who does the same with the generalized term Christian. It is not Muslims in a particular part of the world, it's Muslims with a particular mindset, a particular belief system.
Otherwise, Christians need to stop protesting at fallen warrior funerals and stop threatening to burn other religions books.
Pray tell, how great was the number of total al Qeada and otherwise followers of radical Islam at its point of greatest glory. Probably around the same number of likewise radical Christianists and Zionists.
To paint one religion as bad is an afront to the Constitution of the US.
Harold - Well, when people of that religion consistently react with violence to any criticism of their religion, it tends to paint the entire faith in a bad light, especially to those unfamiliar with said religion.
Remind me, when was the last time a group of Christians attacked an embassy because someone made fun of Jesus?
Well said Harold. I for one despise being lumped in with the Christian zealots who preach hate to certain people and belief systems (such as picketing at funerals, sporting events, anywhere they can). If you look at religions, they are universally nonviolent. It is only those radicals who take the words and use them for their own agendas, thus creating animosity toward religious people everywhere. Condemn the actions, condemn the violent participants, but don't blame the religion, Islam or otherwise.
Freedom of speech IS the freedom to offend. Otherwise, what is the point?
Muslims MUST and WILL get over it, either that, or it is all out war between the western world and Islam. In that case, if they insist, then I am in favor of their extinction.
FZknew, I see you are a terrorist sympathizer. All your posts say "you did it before!!, hence what we did is right"!! Modern world does not work like this. Go back to your hole in Pakistan!
This is what happens when we let religious nut jobs from any religion take to the airwaves. As far as I'm concerned, this person is as guilty of killing the ambassador as is he walked up and shot him in the head. Then he scurries off into hiding like the roach he is. If you going to make a film like this, be man enough to stand up and fight for what you believe in. He knew what would happen by making this film. Just mindbogglingly the stupidity of these religous wackos
Ahhh, another true lover of the First Amendment.
No, this is what happens when religious nutjobs are offended by something as ridiculous as a movie and use that as a justification for murdering people.
I do happen to agree with you on the scurrying away part - if you are going to be man enough to make a movie that you know will offend some, then be man enough to stand up.
But to say that he is stupid or even try to indicate that he's more of a religious wacko than the religious wackos that killed people who had nothing to do with a movie over the content of that movie is stupid in itself...I'm not saying he's not a wacko (he very well may be) but even if he is, it's more wacko to kill someone over a movie than to make said movie.
KR, YOU sound like the nutjob.
Here we go again - Israel/Jews causing more trouble for us. Why are we fighting over there? It has been a religious war for centuries and will never be over. The film is financed by Jews made by Israeli American. If they are so fervent about their religious beliefs go live in Israel and don't bring the fight here.
Mr. Bacile just wanted to have his say and let the chips fall where they may. Or maybe he was just trying to show how poor a president Mr. Obama really is. Remember, Muslims started this war in 1979 with the Iran Hostage Crisis and another weak Democratic president.
What an interesting, pointless, desperate, historically uninformed segue to "Obama". Well done!
I say that the US makes a gesture of peace by taking Bacile into custody and delivering him to the people he insulted for judgement.
Wendy
following your twisted logic this war was started in the 10th Century, by Christians, with the crusades. There where no Democrats then... Nor Republicans, and if you dared to say anything remotely smelling as to be against Christianity you would have burned at stake... There is no difference call it Muslim, Jew or Christian, imbeciles belong to all religions
Wendy Barnes: you have displayed to the entire community out here how big of a dumba$$ you really are. Why don't you get a clue, an education and try to employ at least 1/2% of your brain before you open your ugly pie hole!
Wendy, nice revisionist history! If you are even narrowing it down to Iran, the modern story begins in 1953 when the US government backed an overthrow of Irans prime minister:
www.nytimes.com/library/world/mideast/041600iran-cia-index.html
An additional link to a more thorough breakdown of the Mossadegh story:

Yet so many want the Westboro church shut down.
Voice, your idea is as frightening as the idiots who want to bomb Libya. We in this country are supposed to support free speech, the ability to state ones opinions without fear of recrimination or reprisal. It is critical for a free society to remain free. Just ask history scholars what happens when 1 group gets to dictate what is and isn't allowed to be said.
The same thought could be applied here and there. I wish that people saw that not all muslims are bad, they are just different, just like not all Americans are bad, we're just different. Their culture and religion is their own, just like my race and religion is my own. I don't feel one is superior to the other they are again just different. I understand that they are angry but I don't think that justifies violence, the same goes for here. This guy needs to wake up and realize how backwards his train of thought is and take responsibility for his actions. Stop saying it's just this or that and call a spade a spade. You are not fooling anyone guy.
I have nice neighbors that are Muslims. This has nothing to do with an act of War on American soil and the deaths of Americans.
There is no other religion in the world that someone making a cartoon or movie about their god or beliefs that would cause thousands of people to rampage and commit murder. People trying to justify the actions of heathens are idiots.
Idiots? Like people who call other people "heathens" and who can't see that there's good and bad in every group? I'm a former convert to Islam. I left because I didn't agree with some teachings, but I saw diversity in putting Islamic teachings into practice. You wouldn't know a Muslim if you tripped over one.
Our country was founded, in part, by people fleeing religious persecution. Apparently that has evolved from "freedom of religion" to "freedom of religion, as long as it's MY religion." Those of you who are holding up the freedom of speech flag apparently choose to ignore that other constitutional right, as well as ignoring the freedom of responsibility that goes hand in hand with exercising your freedoms.
Larry you need to read history a lot of it. You need to realize until just recently Christianity was the bloodiest religion of all. Christianity was spread with violence, you were burnt at the stake if you did not bow down to the Church. It was also the most corrupt. We no longer do that on the other hand we have people who call themselves Christians who are calling for wars and who did in fact kill thousands of men, women and children who did nothing to us. Nothing Larry Iraq did nothing to us. They were not involved in 9/11 and even Bush had to admit that on T.V. after the fact. They did not have WMD's and this government knew it. We were told that they had nukes and that Cheney in fact stated we knew where they were at. Yet we flew over their country and dropped thousands of bombs on them. On their children. We blew them to bits and pieces and when they stood up and fought for their lives and they country we overwhelmed them with force because we could.
I don't excuse the extremeist for their attacking the embacy or what they did. They are extremists and they are in all countries including this one. We are not God's given world police and we have no right to impose our God, our laws, or our way of living on others. We may not like their God or their way of life but its their choice not ours.
When some white skin head extremist in this country blows something up well you can all blame Obama for that too. Of course since it will be in Christs name it will be fine with the right wing. Jesus must be crying for all the hate that is spewed in his name.
Lugdush, how does making a movie infringe on someone else's right to practice their religion? It doesn't. But excusing violence because someone said something you didn't like definitely infringes on others right to free speech.
Larry-367607
No one is justifying the actions of those who attacked our embassies and killed the ambassador and other embassy staff members. The problem here is that everyone needs to try and understand the beliefs of others - what is and isn't sensitive to them and their faith. No one likes their religious beliefs and customs put down. Most people do not go out and harm individuals or destroy property in retaliation - these people acted in an inexcusable manner - but making such an inflammatory movie, having others condone it only makes tensions higher in the Middle East and among those who do not live by our rules and laws.
Lugdush, MY freedom of religion gives me the right to say that YOUR religion consists of fecal matter.
Gee, Wendy, it must be nice to be able to read the minds of your "nice" Muslim neighbors. Of course they don't want to let you hear or see any of their more dark thoughts, and believe me, everybody has them, even you. How in hell do you claim to be so wise as to know for sure that either the neighbors or the attacks on this 9/11 "had nothing to do" with all the people killed ont he original 9-11. Must be nice to have the truth, whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Do you bellieve Everything that someone tells you without checking for yourself, if possible, to find the real facts? Or do you think just because someone opens his m outh and smiles at you that they are telling you the truth. Have you bought the Brooklyn Bridge yet? I understand it's still for sale.
It is just a stupid movie no reason to kill. But then those people over there are always looking for reason to kill Americans. I say as Veteran go over there and bomb them back to the stone age. The president and congress should declare war on them!!!!
We won't need many bombs... they're almost in the stone age already.
Them? Do you mean Egypt, Iran, UAE, Yemen, Pakistan, Azerbajan, Turkey, Oman, Kosovo, Saudi Arabia, uzbekistan, Malayasia, Jordan , Indonesia, Chad, Lebannon..etc etc... Is that the Them you are talking about? You might need to call up the draft.
BigFlatTop...spent a lot of time in the brig?
bigflattop i agree with you 100%,and israel should blow up thier nuke facility and force the oil to skyrocket and force the hand of the U.S. and the rest of the world cause other wise iran will use whatever means they can to bring the world to thier knees
Be on the first boat that hits the beach please.
SOIL dier agree-er - Freudian slip perhaps?

Your statement is the first one (I've only read the comments up to and including yours) that makes sense.
I guess only Muslims are allowed to defame other peoples' religions.
And the far left.
"I guess only Muslims are allowed to defame other peoples' religions."
Yeah, pretty much. But if a non-believer so much as looks at a Koran the wrong way, these people will burn down a city. It will take the moderate Muslim community speaking out and being public about their disapproval of these acts in the name of their religion in order to make any headway against the radicals. And I do believe the moderates outnumber the radicals by a wide margin worldwide.
The problem is that the radicals may well kill you for speaking out against them. It's been an effective wet-towel to throw over the moderates. Standing up to a bully when it's just your behind on the line is one thing; but when the bully threatens to wipe out your entire family (and will very well do it) you start to second guess the wisdom of your decision. It's a tough spot moderate Muslims find themselves in overseas.
If the only thing the radical Islamists understand is violence and they sincerely believe that by dying for their beliefs will lead them to a version of heaven, I say we give them what they want and shoot them all.
Michael, how about an example of how Muslims are allowed to defame other religions, but we are not.
For your information, Muslims are defamed daily on these forums, with some people, usually Jewish, calling for them to be exterminated. The jerk, posting above, says shoot them all. The dope thinks they all want to die for their beliefs so they can go to heaven. He must have gotten the message that from propaganda similar to that in the new movie, which stirred the attacks.
It is apparent that Muslims feel more strongly about their religion, than most people of other faiths. Instead of respecting them for their strong convictions, many Americans cast aspersions on them, ridicule them and call for their countries to be nuked. Iran comes to mind, even though Iran has not started a war in well over a hundred years. Iranians have rarely have ever committed suicide attacks or any attacks for that matter. We still read stories on these forums equating Iran to madmen, looking for some 12th immam or something. It is all hogwash, only belived by a tiny minority. We have Christians in this country waiting for some end of world divine experience. Look at the Jones mass suicide.
The other thing to consider is the US is always poking our nose in the ME, either for oil or for Israel. We are the country that supplies most of the weapons, as we are they worlds largest arms dealer.
How do you know that people "usually Jewish" defame Muslims on this forum? Mosst o fthe names on here are clearly made up names, not real ones andn not even slightly authentic seeming. How many ahve you seen who say they are Jewsih and then go on to defame Muslims. Go stuff your rotten little agenda where the sun don't shine because you are nothing but an ax griding anti-semite. Possibly a cracker with red neck or possibly a hate filled muslim or maybe just a deluded and dangerous Repug. Whatever you are a liar and have no way to prove any of what you claim. Believe me there are plenty of WASPs that I read on here every day who hate Muslims, in fact they are usually the most viiolence prone. The Jews have learned through centuries of persecution it's a dangerous can of worms to open to let the lid off with accusations and defamations because it comes back to haunt you. You goys haven't learned that yet. Witness your sainted Mitt Romney, the biggest joke of 2012.
The logic of these idiots seems to escape me.
There are 1.5 billion Muslims in this world and our military strategy to defeat the small percentage who are terrorists is to win the hearts and minds of the majority. There is no way in hell that we are going to win a war against the small number of Jihadists without the support of the majority and we don't have enough nukes to kill them all.
Having said that we are fully aware that every time we post one of these idiotic anti-Muhammad films we recruit more religious fanatics (verified by the CIA in Iraq) who kill more of our troops. Osama Bin Laden is reported to have personally thanked us at one point for the help in recruiting.
Or said another way, these idiots are sabotaging our troops and our national goals in trying to bring peace to the region.
Of course we will always have a few supporters for Cheney's logic that "war is fun and profitable for draft dodgers". As one of three brothers who enlisted, one of whom was killed in Turkey, I would suggest you idiots put a cork in it if you lack the intelligence to understand the consequences of your actions.
Yes, appeasement, that worked well in the past..
Amazing people talk about the small percentage that do this but no matter what area this happens in they can muster 1000's to participate. Radicals like McVeigh are a hand full, radical Muslims are a far greater percentage. Even those that don't participate share the hate and support those that do. In what other country with a different religious majority could bomb makers and terrorists operate openly as they do in Muslim countries? As I read in another article where a Pakistani stated he was ashamed when the World Trade center was taken down how thousands in his city partied celebrating.
Ken, do you suggest that the US government did this. You are just like the idiots running around saying we never went to the moon and that we really started WWII and that we bombed the WTC.
Appeasement is always a winning strategy, right? So we should pass laws restricting our own liberties because exercising those liberties might tick off someone in Egypt, or possibly incite radicals to target American citizens or troops?
Reality check: the only reason they need to do those things is simply because we do not agree with them. That alone is enough justification in the Islamist mind to attack us. There's no appeasing them until you are in lock-step with them.
Hear, hear!
"Comment collapsed by the community"
Must be a fair number of islamic extremist in the community, you know, suppressing free speech and all.
When can I expect your attack?
It's about time we drag Muhammad out of the cave into the light of day. Muhammad is for muslims the perfect man, their moral standard. If your moral standard is a thief, a rapist, a pedophile and a mass murderer, then just say so. Muhammad had anyone who mocked him killed. Muslims just follow his example.
I'm sure the next time the government needs help, they will call on Mr. Bacile, Pastor Jones, the 30 yr old children hikers from Minnesota, and all the other people who believe that what they want to do is within their rights and then deny any responsibility when there are unintended consequences. Yes, we have free speech in the USA. I could not care less whether a film depicting Mohammed in any way is/was on Youtube. Once you post things on the world-wide-web, you and/or your product is launched into the world. Think about someone besides yourself for a change, people.
so many lame comments
Ok Zidri, if there are so many lame comments enlighten us. We are waiting.
He was reviewing his own.
Bacile,
Even the Americans are mad at you now! I think the safe place for you is Israel. Please do not abuse your right of Freedom of Speech.
Coward from Carolina, free speech is guaranteed, not conditionally. Only safe place for you is hog town wasp fests.
This film is a victory for the free world, over fear, ignorance, and the big lies called "holy wars." INSULT ISLAM, EVANGELICALS, BIRTHERS, REPUBLICANS and anyone you like. This is AMERICA, or at least it used to be.
I disagree 100 percent. He has courage to state a truthful history of Islam and its founder. He has courage because of the brutality the religion is so adept to perpetrating onto others. His portral of Mohamod explains a lot to me as to the way women are treated as slaves in thier culture and religion. The one defining word for Islam is brutality.
The Muslims here in America can always go home where other Muslims can drag them out into the streets and chop their heads off for listening to music, Or shoot them down with Russian AKs, or set them on fire, Stone them to death and so forth. Come on Liberal press, do you really expect to generate compassion for a religion that does not know compassion?
If I had a box of live rattlesnakes living in a part of my house, I would still know what they are, poison.
Therefore If a rattlesnake were to bite my neighbor or a relative across town, I would know that they got too close to the snake and were predestined(Muslim Belief) to get bitten much like the frog that gave the scorpion a ride over the lake. We can see who they are each day on the Internet.
We are inviting these dangerous people into our homes as was demonstrated at the DNC in a most devious way, hidden, and under the radar. The story should have been the biggest of the DNC, but was never spoken of in prime time. The obvious deceit is example that the powers who control the media would not have liked the negative feedback especially after their deceitful ways of leading the American People down the Perverbial Garden Path.
Lazarus.
And religion takes more lives
I just cant believe it is 2012 and we still have idiots believing in myths and superstitions!!
Jesus, God, Thor, Lepricauns, Fairies, Allah, Vampires, etc are just fictional stories, people!!!!!
Mike-3673152 I just can't believe it is 2012 and the anti-religious hypocrites still think its OK to mock and insult all followers of any religions.
It's that wonderful, tolerant thinking that allowed the leaders of the religion-free utopias of the USSR, Mao's China and the Khmer Rouge to slaughter millions of their own people because of their religious beliefs.
"Imagine no religion?" Too late. It's been done, and I can't imagine making that horrific mistake, yet again.
where is your proof that there is no god,jesus????...I would love to see it!!
dawn: show me your proof that there is!! I would love to see it!!!
well there is the bible..but lets just say there wasnt...you cannot accurately say there are no such things.i guess how its stands is there are believers and non believers..but answer me this bafraid?why do you think a person might believe if there is no proof of gods existence?
dawn73...if there is a God/Jesus, He is pretty lax in looking after his people and worst of all, has allowed His name to be desecrated by the people supposedly living and promoting His word...He should be smart enough to realize His words have been destroyed by the people representing him with priests raping boys and it being covered up, judge not lest ye be judged gone, love your fellow man lost on them, etc. Here's how I see it - His religion has been destroyed from within and if He was all that powerful, that should be the one thing that He made sure never happened.
Now - I'll ask you this around your belief...God put Adam and Eve here at the beginning, correct? Is it ever mentioned in the Bible that Adam and Eve were married? No, so God must not care too much about that. Adam and Eve had children to start the human race, right? I mean they had to as there were no other humans...but they weren't married. So, God doesn't care that much about marriage. Now, who did Adam and Eve's children procreate with? Had to be each other or their parents, correct? And at the next generation, with either bro/sis/cousin/mom/dad/aunt/uncle. So, God promotes incest? Or was God not smart enough to understand incest?
So in this view, it looks like God does not care one bit about marriage and actually promotes incest.

Excellent comment.
YOU, are the ideal NEW American, the kind that brought the trouble to this country in the first place. This country was full of ideals and moral courage until they, and people like you, took God out of the Schools and away from what was decent and good. NOW, there are those like you, and look at the mess this country is in! YOU, and people like you, are the real enemies of this Nation, and are in the process of bringing it down. People do bad things.......God does not. YOU, have the choices, and make them, for YOU have that privilege, and YOU have the right to make what decisions YOU make, whether they be for good or for evil. God does not stop you from your 'God given right', to make what choices and decisions you make, but in the end, you will face the consequences for those same choices and decisions, be they good, or be they bad. Just as in the world today, bad choices mean punishment, in some form, and good........means enjoyment and happiness. God has been, is, and will always be! Those like you, who mock him, have that right, but again, in the end, you WILL, face the consequences for your actions, be they good or bad.
Right Mike, historically, religion only gave the world schools, hospitals, hospices, orphanages, and inspired great art, music, architecture, literature, meaningful customs, etc. Thankfully, we've had Nazism, Communism and other "isms" to prove to us that only religion can be misused towards bad ends.
Funny phrase, "God given right". What exactly is a "God given right" and how does God bestow a right upon one of his creations?
"People do bad things.... God does not." Of course not neither does the Easter bunny, but people do bad things in the name of God every day. And people do good things in the name of God. But God does not to good things either.
The reason God is not in the schools is because not all children subscribe to religions that follow the God of Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Baha'i, etc. Many children are Hindu and believe in a number of different gods, or Buddhist and have no god as such. Some are actually atheist. Government can not show preference to one religion over another- it's in the constitution. It was our founding fathers who made it so.
If you want your children to learn about what you believe then is is up to you, the parent to see to it. And that is as it should be.
Mike,
Whats harder to believe is that in 2012 there could be atheists like the famous Madelene O Hair you, know the little old dirty woman that got Prayer out of school and got her head chopped off by another atheist she got the guy out of jail to help her and when he saw this dirty guilible old dame had money. Sad, at the end of her life she had no prayer. One good thing is she turned her son into a Christian afraid of becoming like her. Truth is her son said she even believed there was a God but, was mad at him. So, she devoted her sad life to go against him.
I like the way the man goes into hiding after having contributed to the deaths of 4 people. man if this is not cowardice nothing else will be?????
However I still feel we should bomb these Muslim bastards and kill a few hundred just for the fun of it. WTF who cares?
an another American who wants to be the first on the beach. Your intelligence is over whelming.
Your attitude is exactly the same as those who mobbed the embassy. Neither of you have a brain to begin with.
I very seriously doubt that those screaming for as you say first on the beach Sandra would be the last to volunteer to be the first on the beach at all unless it was for a sun tan, but if that is what they want, hell go to your nearest recruiter and sign up go for the gusto, no one is stopping them.
@sleepin Sadie. You sound like some one has really hurt you in your life and you blame God for what has happened to you. do not down others because of their faith. If that makes them feel good and positive, do not rob that. Because you have had some traumatic event in your life is no reason to attack those who still believe. Read the book of "Jubilee" if you can find it. It will answer those questions for you.
They just proved that they are nothing but murderers.
Hear, Hear, Islam is a cancer.
It's Here, Here dumb a**. And you're the cancer you ignorant pig.
MrKarnes
You are incorrect. The phrase is "Hear, Hear" (as in "Hear him! Hear him!"). So you really shouldn't be calling John a dumb a**. However, the word "Islam" in John's post should really be substituted with "Organized Religion".
All religious fanatics are cancers including the ones that support imbeciles who think it appropriate to burn the holy books of other religions. What hateful fools.
the world will never have peace until islam is eradicated.
The real cancer is Zionism, which is a movement geared to plunder Arab land, kill Arab people and use America as their financier.
I hope the Jewish donors for the film are named, so they can be revealed as what they are, hate mongers. It isn't smart to defile another religion, which is what the film is out to do.
Perhaps a film should be made revealing how Israel assassinated Kennedy and how they were complicit in 9/11. There is enough circumstancial evidence to convict Israel in the mind of any thinking person.Hell, most Americans are unaware of Israel's attack on the USS Liberty, which killed 34 American sailors and wounded 172. They also are not aware of how Lyndon Johnson, our first Jewish president, covered up the attack. Yes, Johnson was indeed a Jew and a Zionist.
Oh here we go, everytime the Muslim nutcases murder someone, a liberal rides to their rescue to claim "all religious fanatics" are bad or shift the blame to Christians
Liberalism is a disease. Any criticism of Islam they compulsively have to shift to an attack on Christianity, and any criticism of foreign dictators they compulsively have to shift to how rotten America is. They really are sick, sick people.
I'm all for freedom of speech, but sometimes you have to exercise good judgment because this certainly isn't the first or the last time we're going to see large groups of muslims turning incredibly violent over what they perceive as affronts to their religion by western media or entertainment. It's especially frightening since you know the vast overwhelming majority of individuals who are angry about the movie haven't even seen the youtube clips.
All I know is that Ghadafi and Mubarrak NEVER would've allowed this to happen while they were in power and both countries are going to find that they were much better off before removing their respective regimes. Eventually everyone is going to come to the realization that while these kind of individuals are monsters, they're needed to keep the civilian populations of their respective countries in line.
Yeah,...that's really not helping his case very much in regards to it being a hate film.
Isn't this film equivalent to shouting FIRE! in a crowded movie theater? That used to define a limit on freedom of speech.
If you cannot criticize a religion, than amounts to the establishment and enforcement of that religion by the government. Nothing in this film indicated an immediate threat to Muslims that justified a violent response, therefore it is very different from shouting "Fire!" in a crowded theater. Prohibiting me from criticizing religions is tantamount to taking away my religious freedom as well as my freedom of speech.
Freedom of speech makes blasphemy laws unconstitutional. Freedom of speech IS the freedom to offend.
"Religion has run out of justifications." - Christopher Hutchins
bring our americans home!!we have tried and tried to establish a government and help these people And then they decide to kill the very people that are trying to help?I say pi** on them let them kill each other...its not worth one more innocent american life..my prayers are for the families affected..And last but not least a idea for sam the director of the movie, call mitt romney..hes good at hiding things!!!!
Bacile,
You have the right in the US to express your ideas. However, if you think someone is fat and urgly, would you dare to walk up to her and express that idea? Your reckless action has caused the death of four Americans (and maybe more to come!)
Yes, and I bet all fat and ugly people of the world wouldn't riot and start murdering. Oh wait, thats been done too
Why are you bringing the president of the Chicago Teacher's Union into this? Good lord, man! She's got enough on her plate!
In other words, it is acceptable to criticize only those people who will take it rationally. If someone threatens violence, we're supposed to treat them with kid gloves?
An atheist goup has sponsored billboards around New York City. If an American conservative Christian group decided to bomb a building in retaliation and people were killed, would you blame the atheist group for expressing an unpopular opinion? Perhaps right-wingers should riot in the street and kill a few people whenever a state approves marriage equality because, according to your logic, gays and their supporters would be the ones to blame.
This intolerance and hatred for people different themselves is just plain dangerous. There is no excuse for people who get pleasure out of provoking others. This is not what this country is all about. This film appears to go way behind freedom of speech since the filmmaker must have known its affect in the Muslim world at a time when the Middle East is going through a shaky transition. And Romney's use of this event as a means to criticize President Obama when he should be focused on mourning the American deaths is absolutely disgusting.
I can't wait to hear what President Stinky's (aka BO) owner and master Bill Maher has to say about this. But it's like Penn and Teller when asked why they don't pick on islam like they do Christianity and Judaism. They said it's because they have families.
"I feel the security system (at the embassies) is no good," said Bacile. "America should do something to change it."
I feel that the film you made is no good, said I. America should do something to make you pay for all the trouble it has caused. Like buy you a one way ticket to Libya.
Well here it goes again. ISLAM is not a religion it is a government that suppresses all other religions the exact same way of communism which was
formedafter it by Lenin. WTF up Americans Society wants to condemn this producer just to bow down to the muslims. Stand up citizens and be counted as either Christians or Jews or any other religion while your heads are still on yourshoulders. Islam and the pedophile Mohammad is the only so0called religion that wants to behead anyone that will not convert to it. Read the freakin quran / Koran It is a book of hatred as I have read it more than once.Ray - Right on Ray!! Islam is NOT a religion, let alone a peaceful one. It is an extremely dangerous cult that calls for it's followers to kill all non Muslims.
These hate filled nut-cases are looking for any excuse to murder, plunder and even rape. There have been films made of Christ and the church that are extremely hateful, but no real christian is going to kill over a film no matter how it dipicts the Lord.
Couldn't have said it better myself. If I wanna make fun of Mohammed then I will it's called freedom of speech and it's been done to Christianity and all the other religions out there before. I don't give a @!$%# who gets offended cause guess what.. I don't care about your feelings!! Get over yourselves you backwards jackasses and learn to live WITH the rest of the world. You're allowed to have your own religious beliefs and opinions I won't come try to gun you down for expressing them either. What we Americans will do is hunt every one of you down and execute you for murdering innocent people. Count on it.
Of course Islam is not a real religon, in the same context neither is Christianity, or Juddaism. They were all made up by man and there is NO word of God, only words written by Man.
Christ is the son of God in the exact same context as we are all God's children.
The anger by muslims over the film is ridiculous just like the anger over what a woman choses to do with her own body by so called christians.
I see people walk on water everytime I watch a hockey game, seen many run on whiskey, but I have never seen a elephant fly.
Give the radical christians in our country the same power that the radical muslims have in many middle east countries and you would not be able see to the difference.
The Islamic faith needs to loosen up about Mohammad...Perhaps what they need is Santa Claus, and a Ramadan Bunny...
ABBSBGG, you are truly a confused individual. "Not a real religion"? You'd better look up the definition.
You might also want to learn about something before spouting off about it. Christ is "The Son", but hardly in the same context as all of us. He's a member of the Holy Trinity.
Comparing the anger by Muslims over this to the anger that people have for women that don't respect the lives in their wombs is completely off-base. If it was the same, there would be a lot of dead females who had just had abortions.
Only the absolute most radical Christians (if they can be called that) would do anything like what a much larger base of Muslims would do if they had the power.
And your last para will surely have put a price on your head. Good luck!
