Demonstrators hold a message during a rally to condemn the killers of the U.S. Ambassador to Libya and the attack on the U.S. consulate, in Benghazi on Wednesday.
Libyan authorities have made four arrests in the investigation into the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi in which the U.S. ambassador and three embassy staff were killed, the deputy interior minister said on Thursday.
"Four men are in custody and we are interrogating them because they are suspected of helping instigate the events at the U.S. Consulate," Wanis Sharif told Reuters.
He gave no more details.
The United States and Libya has agreed to cooperate to find out who was responsible for the deadly attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi in which the ambassador to the North African state and three other Americans died.
President Barack Obama and Libyan President Mohamed Magarief spoke on Wednesday evening and decided "to work closely over the course of this investigation," the White House said in a statement.
TODAY's Matt Lauer speaks with security analyst Michael Leiter about the likelihood that the attack on a U.S. consulate in Libya was a pre-meditated act by a group of al-Qaida sympathizers rather than a spontaneous uprising over an anti-Muslim Internet video.
Magarief "expressed appreciation for the cooperation we have received from the Libyan government and people in responding to this outrageous attack, and said that the Libyan government must continue to work with us to assure the security of our personnel going forward," the White House statement said.
"The President made it clear that we must work together to do whatever is necessary to identify the perpetrators of this attack and bring them to justice," it added.
In Yemen, protesters breach the of the U.S. Embassy compound in the capital, Sanaa, as a wave of anti-American demonstrations sweeps across several Middle East nations. NBC's Richard Engel reports from Cairo.
U.S. and Libyan officials, independent analysts and postings on Islamist websites from known militant activists suggested that the attack — which officials had previously suggested was retaliation for release of a movie critical of the Muslim Prophet Muhammad — may have been a pre-planned, orchestrated assault.
Ambassador Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith — a Foreign Service information management officer — and two other Americans, who have not yet been formally identified, were killed.
A deadly attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya was staged by militants who set the building on fire. NBC's Richard Engel reports.
Destroyers sent to Libya coast
A U.S. official told Reuters that the U.S. military was moving two destroyers toward the Libyan coast, giving the Obama administration flexibility for any future action against Libyan targets.
Timeline: Political fallout from the attack on diplomats in Libya
The military is also dispatching a Marine Corps anti-terrorist security team to boost security in Libya, and Washington has ordered the evacuation of all U.S. personnel from Benghazi to Tripoli.
An unnamed senior U.S. official told the AFP news agency that U.S. officials suspected the attack on the consulate was a well-planned assault by militants rather than a rampaging mob.
NBC's Richard Engel and Ambassador Marc Ginsberg discuss the latest in Libya and Egypt as protest continue outside the U.S. Embassy in Cairo.
"That's the working hypothesis at the moment," said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
"This was a complex attack," he added. "They seemed to have used this (protest) as an opportunity."
Among the assailants, Libyans identified units of a heavily armed local Islamist group, Ansar al-Sharia, which sympathizes with al-Qaida and derides Libya's U.S.-backed bid for democracy.
Reuters cited U.S. officials as saying that there were reports from the region suggesting that members of al-Qaida's north Africa-based affiliate, known as Al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb, may have been involved.
The attack on the Libyan consulate, as it happened
On Wednesday, Obama vowed to catch those responsible for the attack and said he had ordered an increase in security at U.S. diplomatic posts around the globe following the assault.
"The United States condemns in the strongest terms this outrageous and shocking attack," Obama said, while insisting it would not threaten relations with Libya's new government. ... And make no mistake, we will work with the Libyan government to bring to justice the killers who attacked our people."
Doctor tried to save ambassador's life
Ziad Abu Zaid, the duty doctor in the emergency room at Benghazi Medical Center on Tuesday, said Stevens was alive when he arrived at the hospital.
"He came in a state of cardiac arrest. I performed CPR for 45 minutes, but he died of asphyxiation due to smoke inhalation,” he said.
Stevens' body was later returned to U.S. custody at Benghazi airport, a senior U.S. official said. Images of Stevens, purportedly taken after he died, circulated on the Internet. One showed him being carried, with a white shirt pulled up and a cut on his forehead.
Smith died inside the consulate building and the two other Americans died when a squad of U.S. troops sent by helicopter from Tripoli to rescue the diplomats came under mortar attack, said Captain Fathi al-Obeidi, commander of a Libyan special operations unit ordered to meet the Americans.
Obama: Egypt not an ally of US, but not an enemy
Witnesses said the mob at the consulate included tribesmen, militia and other gunmen. Hamam, a 17-year-old who took part in the attack, said Ansar al-Sharia cars arrived at the start of the protest but left once fighting started.
"The protesters were running around the compound just looking for Americans, they just wanted to find an American so they could catch one," he told Reuters. "We started shooting at them, and then some other people also threw hand-made bombs over the fences and started the fires in the buildings."
"There was some Libyan security for the embassy outside but when the hand-made bombs went off they ran off and left," he added.
Hamam said he saw an American die in front of him in the mayhem that ensued. He said the body was covered in ash.

I hope that third paragraph was messed up by the writer. The Libyan president is grateful for the cooperation the U.S. has received from Libya? is it even possible to do that?
He should have used the same proof reader that corrected the sign the woman is holding in the first picture.
Probably meant The Libyan president is grateful to the US president for all the $$$$$ sent
Anyone believing this might as well subscribe for life to the New York Times. This government knew that this would happen. Even the loudmouths on talk radio knew this as they have been pushing it in Obama's face for several months now. Too bad Obama's so called experts (of what I don't know), knew better and now one of our diplomats is dead.
This is why we need to stay out of foreign affairs. Let these guy's kill each other out of ignorance.
They don't want to kill each other~ They want to KILL AMERICANS!
& while President Obama was taping a radio interview with "The Pimp" an American diplomat was missing. That diplomat & 3 other innocent Americans are DEAD! Not to mention the few lives lost by the Libyn "security" forces. And I use the term "security" loosly. This is serious.
No doubt we can count on Libya to help, yeah right. Libya just wants to keep those US tax dollars flowing, and they will do or say anything to ensure it. Sure they may come up with a sacrificial lamb or two, but this country just like Egypt is no longer a friend or ally of the US. Islamic extremism is over taking the middle east, and the US will continue to fund their efforts to destroy the west. Obama let Islamic extremism take over in Egypt and Libya, and with his endless bragging about killing Bin Laden and drone strikes in Pakistan, the fuse has been lit.
Remember this.........Bush Gave up on getting Bin Laden.....
Romney said he wouldn't go after Bin Laden because it was TOO EXPENSIVE!
Romney the quitter,...MONEY BEFORE DUTY......!
This isn't the Libyans it's Al-Quida and Obama will nail their a**'s to the wall just like he did Bin Laden's.
Anniversary of 9-11 is too coincidental!
He's grateful we didn't blow up his city. This and earlier reports have some names of participants, bring them in and get the names of the others (by waterboarding if necessary). Then publicly execute them.
starsailing, for crying out loud. Get off the soap box on the same subject, someone else needs the wood. Have an open mind and common sense for once in your life.
Starsailing is correct the only person who will truly find the people who killed our ambassador is Obama. Romney is just grandstanding as usual. There's just no substance to the man. Obama has PROVEN in the past that he does NOT forget the offences to the USA.
Gabby.....rt wingers ripping President Obama with nothing but false blather...When the lies stop about President Obama, I won't have to write facts to answer them.
I'm with you, starsailing! This manufactured right wing outrage has really gotten to be ridiculous.
Romney, if he were president, would solve the whole issue with a wave of his magic wand? Kind of doubtful, considering what an idiot he is...considering his diplomatic faux pas in Europe this summer.
Let's remember how steady a hand we have at the wheel with President Obama. Everyone needs to take a deep breath and let him do what he needs to do. Nobody does it better.
Obama/Biden 2012
For the record, Obama has attended less than 43% of the intelligence briefings since being in office. Since 2011, he has attended less than 38% of those meetings. Now that's a Commander-in-Chief Starsailing can believe in.
Al Qaida will be found to be behind this in retaliation for the killing of Abu Yahya al-Libi. This is what they're reduced to doing.
How will lyin' Ryan/Romney spin this one????
I wonder who the 4 scapegoats are? They will sting up anyone in order to continue to get our aid and then turn around and use it for more attacks on other Americans. What an administration!
I have a big chunk of money to bet on whether these four guys are just some poor schmucks that Libyan "security forces" picked up on some street corner and brought in so they could show how "cooperative" they are being with good ole "We'll hunt 'em down" Oblameo.
Does anyone other than the Blamer-in-Chief really believe the people responsible for this anniversary party are ever going to be caught and punished? And by whose law; international law or Sharia law? I'll also bet these party guys are really looking forward to enjoying their virgins for taking out four infidels.
Notice that the Libyan supporters holding that sign are WOMEN? And that the pictures of the angry mobs and consulate attackers are of all men? Islam could be a more peaceful religion if there was equality for women and more of them in leadership positions. But then again, most all world religions repress women. Best to get rid of religions because they're based on lies, fears, and superstition regarding some magical man in the sky and the threat of hell. I hope those who attacked the Benghazi consulate are arrested and convicted of murder.
amietamant - that is the first thing that I noticed as well.
Ron Paul - Agreed.
Sergeant - round up the ususal suspects!!
Why wasn't security beefed up at our embassies in the Middle East on 9/11? That was a no-brainer!
This had nothing to do with a "movie". It was a coordinated attack that caught our President and State Department completely unprepared.
Amateur moves by our amateur President.
the 4 scapegoat's family will be rewarded handsomely with U.S.A donated funds
Arrests? Please. Everyone knows those savages are going to receive a hero's welcome wherever they go in the Middle East. I wouldn't be surprised if the Libyan government gave them a large reward for their actions.
Shawn-1351681:
The NEW Libyan president was expressing appreciation to the NEW Libyan government for its (the NEW Libyan government) cooperation with the USA in this this outrageous attack, and said that the Libyan government must continue to work with the USA to assure the security of the USA's personnel going forward. Kinda of like our Democratic president having to work with the phucked up teabaggin' HOR part of the USA's government. Try reading the next time instead of skimming.
Oh, and Arthur 66, you're stupid!!
.........and the O'Bummer administration is once again happy and will continue to cut checks to his Muslim welfare buddies as the spin goes round and round and round and ............
The danger posed by Islamic Extremists is so often underestimated. Perhaps we need a crusade to counter their fevered calls for jihad. The only 'good' extremist is the one who has just been sent straight to hell by Allah.
Yeah, they will find the suspects just like Pakistan helped find Bin Laden. And Obama apologizes to the idiots,
UNPRESIDENTIAL- ya think!?
Lanikai..Ron........Repubs assigned Michelle Bachmann to the Intelligence Committee..........Checkmate!
In Minnesota our state bird is the loon. In Minnesota our state Loon is Michelle Bachmann!
Romney has had 4 positions on Libya in last six months.......I'll say one thing about Mitt He is consistant...about being a flip flopper...
Romney was interviewed yesterday and he ranted lies about issues unfolding in Libya. When done ranting the reporter asked him what was his plan?...He had none.
Romney needs to put some of the false rant energy of his into showing his taxes to prove he is not the lying tax dodger cheat we all think he is!
Round up the usual suspects. We have to put on a show so our checks don't get cut off. Play it again Obama!
Probably meant Obama is grateful for all the absentee ballots the Libyan government will send in late October.
Why don't you go hide under a bed.
an attack on a US embassy on 9/11 and it may have been preplanned. please!
The people who attacked the American embassy and killed our people DO NOT represent Libya anymore than the Israeli filmmaker represents the U.S.! To say ALL Muslims want to kill Americans is like saying ALL Americans HATE Muslims; there are some people who are totally intolerant on BOTH sides. Ignorance and violence go hand-in-hand everywhere on the planet.
How many of you wanted to let the Afghan government try that American soldier (who killed men, women and children)? How is that any different than allowing the Libyan government to handle this?
Lets just start off by stating that BOTH POLITICAL PARTIES suck. Anyone who believes that their "party" is looking out for their followers' best interest is naïve. They are looking out for themselves and their friends only. They could not care less about you. Why are we even in the Middle East? Oil, of course. Why else, because we're the good guys in the white hats? Please.... If they were not sitting on the majority of the worlds oil supply, the USA wouldn't give a rats a$$ what happened over there. Cut off all aid, and you probably cut off the oil supply. Now gas in the US goes from $4 per gallon to $10 or more per. How's that sound? In the current economy, how will you afford it? The oil companies have us all by the 'nads (sorry ladies). We have been dealing with "oil embargo's" and "gas shortages" since the mid '70's. Why have we not developed alternative fuels to power our country? Whay hasn't solar power been at the top of the development list? Because the big oil companies can not control the sun. There is no way to for them to claim it as they do land mass. It's not the middle east terrorists we have to worry about, it's the Washington terrorists (aka: politicians/senators/reps) that will be the downfall of the USA. Greed will get you every time.
starsailing
Romney didn't have a plan because his neo-conservative advisers haven't given it to him yet. But I'm sure it will be unique like...invade Libia...invade Egypt...invade Syria...invade Iran...invade Iraq (oh wait, we did that one already)...that's ok, we can do them again.
I watched Sen. McCain ranting and raving on TV this morning about how the Administration is weak and we should go into Syria and Iran and deal with them, and it occurred to me that we Americans dodged a bullet for sure in 2008 when we didn't elect him president. By this time, he would have gotten us involved in so many conflicts the military would have had to reinstitute the draft, and the country would be completely bankrupt.
Liberal justice--line up the usual suspects. From all the Romney beatings on this site I am simply amazed Obama has not claimed Romney started the riots. You liberal idiots believe anything your boy god tells you and the MSNBC knuckleheads confirm it. I feel bad for the innocents who will pay in Libya.
Arthur66:
Embassy security WAS beefed up. The Libyan incident was at a satellite building in another city which did not have enhanced security.
Did you read the part about a mortar attack when the rescue helicopter showed up? What amount of 'beefing up' would have been required to deal with that?
To: elwapo;
You are a fool!
To love2troops;
What on earth does that mean????? Like Bush talking to school children while the world trade center is being attacked?????????? I don't get what the point is.
Looks like, for such a sad mess, among much chaos, it is being handled rather well. Good for the Libyan government and President Obama!
Well I guess after President Barack Hussein Obama gave the order to murder an American citizen and his son with a drone; because of what he was saying about America C.I.A.; I guess all the nations decided that it was open season on American citizens!! I guess it is true that America is the leader of the world for good or evil!! I just wish our elected public servants would stop saying "God Bless America;" You see the meaning of bless is "happy." The truth behind why the ambassador and the other Americans was murdered; is because being an American citizen in a foreign nation does not come with any protection from the terrorist or an American drone!! Well done President Barack Hussein Obama!! Just my thoughts!!
OK bob in kc;
We'll hunt em down, was Bush's remark about Bin Laden, not Obama. Oh, and it was Obama got him, not Bush. But who needs the facts anyway.
Good job on the part of the Libyan government and it's nice to see a significant backlash against these murderous attacks among the Libyan people !!
I am so proud of those women. Thank you
starsailing is a troll...of the worst kind...he has been spouting off his hateful crap every time he can even if it has nothing to do with the election...
He is the worst kind of America...one that cant see past his own agenda..pure evil
I'm much more interested in finding out if there is a tie between the jerk that made the movie, the deranged preacher and neo-conservative political operatives...you know, like the ones advising Romney on foreign policy and economics?
DBW-382651
Why do you side with Terrorists and hate America?
Why wasn't security beefed up at our embassies in the Middle East on 9/11? That was a no-brainer!
This had nothing to do with a "movie". It was a coordinated attack that caught our President and State Department completely unprepared.
Amateur moves by our amateur President.
ROMNEY UNVEILED HIS MILITARY PLAN FOR LIBYA. ROMNEY OUTSOURCES OUR MARINES AND ORDERS HALIBURTON TO RENT SOLDIERS FROM BECKYBECKYBECKYSTAN TO ATTACK LIBYA!
Yes in a bold move today Romney set up war profit no bid contract today with Haliburton to lease troops from BeckyBeckyBeckystan in Libya. He couldn't find any Hessian troops so these will have to do he replied.
When Romney was asked what prompted such a bold move he replied, "COSTCO SHIRTS COME 3 IN A PACK!
Stay tuned for more breaking news!
We've arrested active duty military planning an attack on our own country. I think the President is handling the International scene as good as any one could over the last 4 years. He promised on the campaign trail to meet a mutually agreed upon date for withdrawal of troops from Iraq. That date was set between the new government of Iraq and former President Bush. Now, the GOP is whining about the doings of Libya. President Obama aided in riding the world of Ghadaffi and ordered the kill on Bin Laden and plenty of AQ officers.
I listened to Senator McCain ranting on today about the need for OUR military intervention in Syria. How damned long is our reach supposed to be? I would close all the embassies in the parts of the world that are not our allies, while continuing to reach out to them through diplomacy. The easy thing is to drop bombs. The right thing is to reason and listen--work through it.
Obama-Biden beats the 1/10th of % unpredictable corporate raider and the Tea Bagger.
Since we have reports that Israeli Intelligence notified the Obama Administration of planned attacks on our embassies to coincide with the 9/11 anniversary, why did the Administration not take actions to bolster the security at those embassies - including requesting local government support?
It appears that the 'Arab Spring' that Obama supported is turning into an anti-American Fall.
Boy, I know what you mean Paragus...I only trust Muslims who practice Buddhism.
ROMNEY SET UP MICHELLE BACHMANN AS HIS SECRETARY OF DEFENSE TO HANDLE LIBYA.
Romney introduced Michelle Bachmann to reporters at the beginning of press meeting on Libya. The first reporter asked Michelle Bachmann , "Well Sen. Bachmann what kind of military intelligence do you have?"
Michelle replied, " I used to play Battleship all the time when I was a child!"
Staytuned for more breaking news!
Absolutely...look at the professional job Dubya invading Iraq. No that was the move of a true professional. And the great thing is the folks that advised Dubya...are now advising Romney. We can expect the same kind of professionalism that brought us the Iraq war and the economic meltdown under Ryan/Romney...I can hardly wait
this time I have stock in Halliburton.
I wonder the conversation was between the two presidents. Maybe something like this " Just grab up some homeless guys off the street and blame them. Yea will call it an AL-Qaida operation. I have an election to win in November I cant be seen as being a fool for supporting this Arab Spring thing. Name your price."
Starsailor please stop. You're killing me lol.
Please provide a link to a reputable new source claiming Israeli Intelligence notified the Administration of the coming attack. I have not been able to find it so perhaps you can help out a bit? Unless of course it's a lie.
So the Arab Spring is an anti-American Fall? Would that be because they ousted that stanch Pro-American Muammar Gaddafi? Let's see, which Pan-Am flight did his agents destroy over Lockerbie, Scotland...Oh yes, Pan-Am flight 103; killing all 243 passengers and 16 crew members and 11 people on the ground.
Why is it that the right-wing comes to the aid of despots and terrorists?
Romney was a coward in the late 60's & now he wants to send the Marines into another no win war (Afghanistan, Iraq). When one of Romney's sons is sent into harms way, his tough talk might have some credibility.
As opposed to Romney who would simply provide Halliburton with a no-bid contract and invade Libya.
Ol Doc , you are my hero. every time I think of a retort, you have already posted it
my new grampa
What can I tell you ... great minds think alike...perhaps it's a timezone thing?
"For the record, Obama has attended less than 43% of the intelligence briefings since being in office."
For the record, those meeting happen WHEREVER HE IS. He has not missed ONE, he cannot, he is required by law to be continually updated and advised. GET A CLUE IDIOT.
Your Ignorance is ignorance; no right to believe anything can be derived from it. - Sigmund Freud
Told you so Coral Taxi, I am still winning my arguement, if you want I can go line by line to shoot the above so called Newsvine "Get Smarter Here" posters down to crash and burn. Popularity NOT Substance, Emotions not Logic, Ignorance not Facts, etc..
Quit having sex with your mother. - Sigmund Freud
You need to get a clue doc. The Whitehouse confirmed that he missed the meetings and just read the briefings. And when does it matter about laws to this administation, one word, budget. They havent passed one and that is a law.
You want me to get a clue? The story you are citing comes from TeaParty.org. Try CNN and see what they have to say. Holy sh!t...and I need a clue!
You must be a Tea Party member. Tea Party members love the Constitution but have absolutely no idea what's actually in it ("keep your govment out of my Medicare"). The President of the United States does not create or approve the Federal Budget, that's Congress. In fact, spending originates in the US House of Representatives (the People's House). The House of Representatives in the 112th Congress is controlled by the Republican Party under Congressman John Boehner (R-OH). Nice try though...and thank you for playing
boltonbill
Bet you were right up there with every other American on 9-11-2001 favoring war against those who brought down the towers, Pentagon and Flight 93.
How soon we forget!
ol_doc, i assume your question about why our right wingnuts ally themselves with despots and terrorists was rhetorical. no? if cheney had killed bin ladin, from whom would he have boasted about protecting us?
So you would like to what...go to war with Libya? ...or Egypt ...or Syria?
Neo-Conservative answer to everything.
Yea we should believe Libyans because they are such upright god fearing folks - oh wait were they not Libyans that blew up the Pan AM plane over Scotland and blew up a lounge in Berlin, Germany killing Americans, and bombed 2 US embassies in Africa killing hundreds. Oh wait obama has given us his personal assurances that they have all changed and i am sure he has issued his personal apology for our nasty dead Americans bleeding all over Libyan ground when they slaughter the ambassador.
Ol_Doc: Nope do not want to see one more American life wasted defending Muslims anywhere in the world. I would much prefer we sell weapons at discounted prices so they can engage in the wholesale slaughter of each other until there are only those 2 or 3 so-called peace loving Muslims left.
wow wonder if obama would grab a weapon and join a jihad
can we have one of our spontaneous mobs trash the Libyan embassy slaughtering their entire staff of Libyans if obama promises to apologize and promises to help apprehend those nasty perpetrators?
Having the Libyian government search for the real killers is kind of like having Michelle look for Barry'r real birth certificate or his college records. They probably put Barney Hussein Fife in charge of the investigation!
Ol DOc somehow I dont think we would be involved in Libya if Romney were president. Your communist hero president wants despartly to help Islamic extremists with kind of a Nazi twist. He helps one of the most dreaded organizations the Muslim brotherhood ascend to power and helps spread their cancer but in a "Night of Long Knives" Nazi twist he kills some dreaded terrorists like in Bin Laden. (O boy he gets to play hero o goody.) Similar to Hitler killing the brown shirts in saving the german people. We should not be involved in any Mid east country except helping Israel. The Mid east need strong men dictators to control their crazy religious nuts. Those countries were relatively peaceful and people of all religions were pretty much left alone. So what if some religious crazy muslims were rounded up by Mubarek or Hussein and thrown in wood chippers they did the world some good. I say good. Now only Islam is accepted and people of other religions in those countries are being hunted and killed. Did we not learn from Iraq a needless war. (Though it did attract stupid muslims that wanted to fight americans from all over the world so we could dispose of them.) Iraq is still riddled with senseless religious killings. That part of the world and most of Africa are basically incapable of running a society. They need the dictator to keep the really crazy religious nuts from running wild.
On the one hand: we now have Muslims in Egypt saying there is a conspiracy and the US government is behind the anti Islam film.
On the other hand: We have Americans saying the Musllim Brotherhood is a plot to destroy all American institutions from within and install Sharia law everywhere. Also, claiming that all Muslims everywhere think only of forcing all non-Muslims to convert, or be put to death.
On the one hand: we have Muslims getting upset by a very amateurish, badly acted and produced film, that admittedly spreads the same ridiculous lies about Muhammed that the intellectually challenged members of the right wing love to spread, but, hey, why get upset about nonsense coming from such impotent and incompetent imbeciles.
On the other hand: those same right wing imbeciles defend an offensive, completely inaccurate film that spreads their favorite lies as "America values".
Well, right wingers who post your garbage daily, those over-reactive Muslims that you so love to hate are just like you. Both of you are completely wrong, both of you have no moral compass, and you might just find yourselves sharing some very hot seats right next to one another, if you and them are right about your God, which is also their God.
We tried arming them before; how'd that work out for us?
Jim -768838
You know Jim; I have not idea how or why you came up with that junk. Are you on medication? If not, please consider it.
boltonbill:
I served in Vietnam, Granada, Desert Storm and Somalia after 25 years of military service. That last one caused me to leave my left leg in Somalia. No, we should not go to war, ever, over these low life's. My suggestion is pull all Americans out of every country, close all embassy's and consulates, stop sending American taxpayer money to aid these assh&les and put that money where it will help the most, our economy which is slowly shattering before our very eyes.
Let those countries fend for themselves. We spend billions supporting them but they hate us unconditionally.
The horrors of war haunt me always and any American should not witness it.
I was just suggesting from your post that it seemed you were saying that we should not have gone after those who killed over 3,000 Americans on 9/11, however, nearly all Americans wanted exactly, just like the attack on Pearl Harbor in 41. I can see going to war if some country or fanatical group supported by any country should attack and kill our people. Afganistan was the right move but I feel Iraq was the wrong move by our country considering there were no weapons of mass destruction found. I personally thing Iraq was Baby Bush seeking revenge for Saddam's planned assassination on Daddy Bush. Yes, I'm a Conservative but that was the wrong move and should have never happened.
Just stop supporting these people with no right to live on this planet because of these atrocities they commit. Then watch their countries fall into caos! Leave them to kill each other over tribal crap.
We need no more wars. Bring back our soldiers and support our borders and coasts.
To Catch who? It is a pretty big crowd that has blood stain hands..There like animals either you caged them or kill them..Never trust a Muslim who practice Islam..
I never trust anyone who doesn't know the difference between they're, there, and their.
Lizzie...good one
What's the difference between their, there, and they're? They're really not that complicated; once you understand their differences there shouldn't be any more confusion.
Their
Their is the third person plural possessive adjective, used to describe something as belong to them. Their is nearly always followed by a noun.
There
There has several different uses.
1. Adverb that means the opposite of "here"
2. Pronoun that introduces a noun or clause.
3. Adjective that emphasizes which person.
4. Noun that means "that place."
They're
They're is the contraction of "they are" and is often followed by the present participle (verb form ending in -ing).
The Bottom Line
The confusion between their, there, and they're occurs because the three words are pronounced in very similar ways.
If the word means "belonging to them," use their. If you're able to replace the word with "they are," use they're. Otherwise, there is only one correct answer: there.
at least there is one muslim who denounced the killings.she even wrote it in english.we need many more to speak out.stand up.
I for one, don't believe her no matter what language she writes her signs in! They are just trying to cover that backsides. Seems like whenever an American is killed or the when the towers fell, there are always plenty of "innocent" women and children from that region dancing in the streets!
Petty, superficial, and elitist way of judging people. THEIR I said it. Damn, now I guess you don't trust me either :(, I'm OK with that. Personally, I don't trust people who seem dishonest or who use or abuse others but that's just me. I also don't trust people who invalidate information or people based on unrelated technicalities. I guess I subscribe to a moralist party rather then the typing NAZI party. Kudos for finding such a petty way to make yourself feel superior and to take away from a serious matter to correct grammar. Pat yourself on the back apparently you desperately need it.
sorry, i have to agree with Lizzie. it's difficult to give credence to someone who doesn't understand simple grammar. You learn this in elementary school! and if you didn't, you make it your business to learn it as an adult or you look and sound ignorant.
Islam teaches hatred and violence. It is way past the time for the US to cut off the aid and alienate these extremist nations. With Obama and Biden bragging incessantly about killing Bin Laden and drone strikes in Pakistan, the Islamic extremism fuse has been lit. All western nations better start building bunkers, because violence is headed our way. Of course all they have to do is walk across the border to wreak havoc in the US, because the Democrats have wanted the votes more then they are concerned for the safety of our nation. Securing our borders, just another broken promise from Obama for which this nation will pay a heavy price.
This is an open forum, everyone is allowed to post, regardless of their spelling or grammar skills. Guys, get a grip. I saw nothing wrong with the protest sign, the r was squeezed in there, if that's what you meant. Most people condemn Muslims for not speaking out, when they do you assign some ulterior motive. Can't it just be they are as appalled as the rest of us and are truly speaking out against this carnage?
A. Bass; their is an adjective and adjectives do not stand alone.
A noun used as an adjective aka a gerund may do so.
Did you understand what was meant? If so, the purpose of the sentence was accomplished. Ultimately language is for the conveyance of information. Even if it is not correct grammar everyone understands what is meant.
For the grammar elitists I have some very bad news for you. While we lobbed hundreds of million dollar warheads at this country to "help", we can't be bothered to pay our teachers a decent wage. Each one of those warheads would have paid for most of a teachers career. Compounding the problem, a former president's no child left behind program has lowered the standard for everyone to the lowest abilities of anyone. This makes so very much more sense then striving to bring everyone to THEY'RE individual maximum potential. (did I make you twitch?) It is likely you will not get much reprieve on grammar. On the bright side you will get to hold your noses high in the air for at least another generation.
What a world, home made bombs, people being killed, violence protests, and [GASP] poor grammar.
Thanks Lizzie, now what part of the story were you contributing to or commenting on.
I didn't see anything wrong with her sign either other than perhaps like already mentioned the "r" was squeezed in but otherwise it was fine . I think the common people in these third world countries are beginning to find their voice , it will likely be years before they really find their voices and speaking out loudly enough to make a real difference but it's a start .
As for the difference between their, they're,there (and a lesser extent no and know among others) I have to say that it does bug me so many people seem to not know the difference , although I rarely comment on such things . Normally I just take the meaning I think they were trying to get across and move on , but it does annoy after seeing it thousands of times in the last few months .
Wow, so which is worse? Pointing out bad grammar or (more or less) defending bad grammar? Lizzie's comment was funny; unless she comes out with something more vitriloic, I assume she's joking. Lighten up, Francis.
As for the original comment from paragus, thanks so much (not) for yet another illustration of ignorance and intolerance. Get this straight, people: Muslims are not the problem, extremists are. The people who attacked and killed the diplomats in Libya didn't do so because they (the attackers) are Muslim; they did it because they are extremists using Islam as an excuse for their extremism -- kinda like Terry Jones and the Fred Phelps nuts using Christianity as an excuse for their brand of extremism. The sooner everyone learns the difference and shun/reject the prejudiced idiots on BOTH sides of the issue, the better off we'll all be.
carafromnj - by the way, they also teach you in grade school to capitalize the beginning of each sentence, and yet you neglected to do that. Sometimes when typing comments, people don't proof read. Because, guess what?? Message boards aren't that important! Get off of your high horse and make a meaningful contribution or keep your judgement to yourself!
MD - thank you for your comment! Well said!
Tony.....YOU are the only one here that seems to be educated enough (plus a few others) to understand that it is not Muslim that causes this hatred for America. The first thing one should do is read the Quran. No I haven't except for some excerpts. But I believe that you will find that Islam is a peaceful religion. How can you judge the belief if you know nothing about it. Second, learn about the cultural values of Muslims. They are by in large an-alphabets and the teachings are passed down. The majority has never read the Quran. And therein lies the problem. Interpretation is the key. Things are passed on to every generation in the way those doing the passing on see fit. No one asks if it is the truth. The West cannot change century old customs nor the religion. In my humble opinion, every religion seeks to use the weak minded to empower themselves. Look at the number of christian factions in the US. And each one thinks they alone hold the key to heaven. Some take the Bible literally, play with snakes, speak in tongues, drink Strichnine, wear holy underwear, use holy water and....and...and...Jews have their own traditions and belief, don't mix dishes that had dairy on it, don't eat hoofed animals. Don't want to write a book. Americans as a whole are so wrapped up with them selves thinking that they are the only true believers and are superior to any one else in the world needs to learn that this kind of thinking will continue to keep us in wars. We are quick to condem everyone for the actions of a few. We don't bother to learn about other customs or religions because no one else counts. We think we can bomb ourselves into rightgeousness. Look what is happening in our country. A President is shred to pieces and blames for EVERYTHING that happens in the WORLD because he is African-American. That is so sad. People should reflect before they spout their venom and be more tolerant and they will receive the same in return. Extremists, terrorists, murderers, they will continue to create havoc no matter what. But our attitude, as seen by these postings, will drive more people into the arms of the terrorists. Think about it.
Tony, Sheila: Don't hold your breath. This is a discussion board, expect less of people. Sometime the most reasonable comments get "collapsed by the community", whoever they are (I make sure i read every one, even though most probably deserve to be collapsed, but are amusing none the less).
I find the real irony here is that the video in question was posted by an Egyptian on YouTube (last time I checked the government didn't own Google). Hell, there are still those who believe Obama is a closet Muslim, so why are these idiots attacking US embassy's anyway? (by the way, did I use the correct plural?)
It amazes me that everyone is so critical over grammar. You learn this in elementary school. You know what else you learned in elementary school? Geography! You know geography? U.S. geography and history, 50 states, not 57 states. You would think a elementary student would know this, let alone a Harvard grad. Maybe Obama was referring to the 57 Islamic states? "2016" the documentary, get to know the real Obama.
Anyone that thinks these attacks on 9/11 were caused by a movie is a fool. This is only a excuse! The movie was on U-tube for a couple of months with only a few thousand hits. The message the terrorists were sending was in their chants: Obama, Obama, there are still a billion Osamas!
We are glad Bin Laden is gone. But, when you keep repeating, "Obama/we killed Bin Laden" every chance you get, looks like you are throwing it in the terrorists faces. You got Obama and Crazy Joe repeating this on the campaign trail, Joe shouting at the DNC like a madman. The whole world sees this and you wonder why we are hated? Now you have books being published on this basking in the glory. I guess when you have no record to run on and killing bin laden is your only accomplishment, you really don't think about the consequences. Now we are seeing the consequences of gloating!
Your Ignorance is ignorance; no right to believe anything can be derived from it. - Sigmund Freud
Since you have evidently never lived with the locals at an Islamic Nation for a few years and or had a formal College Education at the Islamic Nation in Islam, I will explain the just one time after that your excused ignorance of not knowing then becomes stupidity by definition.
Islamic Definition for Muslim: One that is completely subjugated to Islam. Islam is All Politics, All Religion, All Culture, All Ways of Life (and Death), All History, All Laws, All Beliefs, etc.. This also is the definition for Fundamentalist Islam (Shia).
Fundamentalist Islam is the Holy Koran (Quran) as Law, Fundamentalist Islam is Shia (Sharia) Law, and Ancient Islamic Customs (Hadith) as Law. There are no interpretations allowed. Fundamentalist Islam is NOT pick and choose nor it is a matter of tolerance. The No tolerance Policy is reflected in the Fundamentalist Isalmic Required Actions of the 109 Suras of the 114 Suras of the Holy Koran (Quran) that Calls All Islamic Believers to War Against the Christians, Jews, Unbelievers, those Islamic Believers that do not participate are subject to the Death Penalty and to "dwell in that firey place". To Fund the War Against the Christians, Jews, Unbelievers are the required by Islamic Laws, Mandatory Islamic Tithes (currently Trillions USDs per year).
Islam has two main categories and all other subcategories fit into either Fundamentalist Islamic Shia or Moderate Liberal Sunnis Interpretations of the Holy Koran. It has long been the belief by the Fundamentalist Islamic Shia that the Moderate Liberal Sunnis are Islamic Heretics and by current Fundamentalist Islamic Laws that is the Death Penalty.
The Moderate Liberal Sunnis believe in the Fiqh (Logic) as the Rule of Law and the modern interpretation of the Holy Koran (Quran) as to why they are considered Islamic Heretics by the Fundamentalist Islamic Shia as the reason for the Centuries Old Wars between the Fundamentalist Islamic Shia and the Moderate Liberal Sunnis. Their Islamic Belief is allowing the Modernization of the Islamic World (Death Penalty Heresey to the Fundamentalist Islamic World). One of the Traits of the Moderate Liberal Sunnis is to use Force as a Last Resort (why they are the minority). And usually will negotiate for someone else to do their Fighting.
From Experience at many Nations the Actions of the Fundamentalist Islamic Believers (Muslims) is to "Shoot First As the Dead Do Not Complain", and this works. Previous examples would be the Moderate Liberal Sunnis attempting to negotiate ("Empty Words") then the Fundamentalist Islamic Shia shoots the Moderate Liberal Sunnis in the face, end of negotiations; the Sunnis became the minority while the Fundamentalist Islamic Shia became the Majority.
The Fundamentalist Islamic Shia have used the excuse before like when I was a UN/UA (African Union) Observer, "You made me kill them (innocent men, women, children) because you are here.........It's your fault".
Fundamentalist Islamic Laws require any Islamic Believer to provide Fundamentalist Islamic Sanctuary to any Islamic Believer, especially the "Warriors of Islam" aka Islamic Jihadists. If you have no idea what this means, the Host of Fundamentalist Islamic Sanctuary provides everything to the guest, even before themselves or their family. In current situations this would also be providing their children as look outs, same with their women, food, clothing, funds, protection, etc. even if the host must die doing so.
Pertaining to the 1.8 Million Islamic Believers at the US, they do NOT make the Rules or determine what Islam is for the Majority of Islamic Worldwide of 1.5 Billion Islamic Believers (mostly Fundamentalist Islamic Believers).
Most that do not know Islam from experience attempt to marginalized their Fundamentalist Islamic Beliefs, by stating that the Majority are a few "Radicals", "Extremists", etc.. And even use the limiting Western term of "Religion" pertaining to Islam.
In many cases, maybe due to laziness, refuse to use the entire name when discussing those things pertaining to Islam, like saying the Arab League of Nations, instead of what they are as the Fundamentalist Islamic League of Nations, with their Original Charter of the Extermination of the Jews; Fundamentalist Islamic Shia Republic of Iran; Fundamentalist Islamic Hamas; Fundamentalist Islamic Al Quada International Franchise, Fundamentalist Islamic Muslim Brotherhood, etc.
This can also be seen at the US Department of State's documents knowing exactly who the Libyan Rebels aka New Government of Libya are: Al Quada Saudi Arabia (AQ), Al Quada Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), Al Quada Syria (AQS), Al Quada Yemen (AQY), Hezbollah, Al Quada Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) aka the New Government of Libya, etc.;
Instead of Fundamentalist Islamic Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) aka the New Fundamentalist Islamic Government of Libya, etc.
This article finally starting to reveal the participants that went to Libya to start a Civil War to Overthrow Former US Ally President Gaddaffi the Collaborator to the Christians, Jews, Unbelievers a Death Penalty Crime of High Treason against Islam.
No one is stating that the Fundamentalist Islamic Shia Republic of Iran's Special Forces, Quds, trained, funded, armed, etc. the Fundamentalist Islamic Jihadists that went to Libya, Egypt, Yemen, Redacted, Somalia, Redacted, etc. to start a Civil War. As this would indicate President Obama's Failed March 2009 Iran Policy, that started the whole mess of the US and US Allies losses of the Resources and Strategic Locations Worldwide; resulting in the Fundamentalist Islamic Shia Republic of Iran's Allies, the Chinese and Russian Federation getting all the Resources lost by the US and US Allies, while the Fundamentalist Islamic Shia Republic of Iran gains access to all the Strategic Locations Worldwide lost by the US and US Allies, as the Fundamentalist Islamic Shia Republic of Iran's Increase Strategic Sphere of Influence.
Before any of the name calling starts, you get involved with the Middle East as a US Military Asymmetric Warfare Qualified Officer ever since the US Military Training Teams to US Ally Iraq during the Iran Iraq Wars, rotated to Operation Cyclone, and many other Missions till now. And to become more qualified go to College at Egypt and learn Arabic while living with a local family; later on attend College at Egypt to learn Islam, taught only in Arabic also while living with a local family (different from the first one). Also learn Farsi, like I did as the First Middle Eastern Language I learned (how I know what the Fundamentalist Islamic Shia Republic of Iran is up to). Before being switched from a comfortable desk job to harsh US Military Asymmetric Warfare or resign my commission I was teaching Nuclear (Weapons) Physics, I was also trained classroom and hands on experience in Missiles, Chemical, Biological, etc. that is why I know what the Fundamentalist Islamic Shia Republic of Iran is currently doing in those areas (NOT from academic idealistic non participant bullsh!t).
All of the baloney that you read from the academic idealists non participants based on more baloney from other non participants has no basis of fact versus Firsthand Experience (and surviving). So do not even bother to tell me that I don't know because you read some non participants bullsh!t.
"A President is shred to pieces and blames for EVERYTHING that happens in the WORLD because he is African-American."
What a disgrace. African-American... Hispanic-American... Blahblah-American. All these "hyphenated" Americans are a big part of the problem. What about just plain American. No we couldn't have that now could we? Poor Mr. President gets picked on because of his race. That's always the answer isn't it?
Libya will help us find the killers? I'd like to see how that works out for us. Immigration to the U.S. beginning today? We're full.
Would it kill us to bring all our troops home from the MidEast and adopt a George Washington policy of isolationism for a while, global economy nothwithstanding? I think we'd all like a year without news of pathetic, Muslim cockroach activity.
When all this started, Gaddafi's son told us we were supporting the wrong side...and we would regret our decision. No surprise there...saw that camel coming right off. I'm more interested in the chain of events now occurring. Protests were scheduled already...again, no surprise. An obscure low budget not ready for prime time video about Mohammad was re-dubbed with inflammatory dialogue and posted on the net, further escalating tensions. Then the embassy was attacked by a heavily armed assault team, complete with artillery support. Now political elements are jockeying for gain out of this, and the ambassador isn't even in the ground yet...interesting. Remember this...just because I'm a conspiracy theorist, doesn't mean there are no conspiracies. When we find who is responsible, regardless of where we find them...we have a few cells in Gitmo for them.
Would it kill us to become isolationist? Yes, that is why we can't.
John, Gaddafi's son said we would regret our stance in Libya because he was threating us. We stood up for the right side and you want to regard that as a mistake? Have you forgotten what Gaddafi did? The evil that the man perpetrated? Despite what happened, Libya is still an ally and one who will help us find the people who killed our Ambassador. The signs from the people in the street tell it all. They are for us and DO appreciate what we did to liberate them. They are not the ones who broke into the embassy. Many Libyans died that night trying to defend our embassy. It was a planned attack and those who did it will be caught. That is, unless Romney is president, then; as he stated in the search for Bin Laden, "it is just not worth the cost". Romney, tough, just words for the election. NO substance.
Ports........Good post!.........Romney would be told By Rove and Cheney to attack Iraq again and BeckyBeckyBeckystan wherever the hell that is!
I'll give credit to Romney, he has learned that "Costco shirts come 3 in a pack!"
I have a fondness for the devil I know, and cast a cautious eye about for the devils I don't know. Yes, I remember the Colonel from his heyday...stationed in Europe in the 1980's. I prefer Cold War exchanges verses the complete collapse of the Med. We created most of the tyrants of this world, either directly or indirectly. Remember what happen to Yugoslavia after Tito, but I guess if you're making an omelet...etc.,etc.
So Libya has already identified four persons responsible for this brutal killing? And would anyone want to bet that any punishment meted out to the perpetrators will be akin to what a school teaching nun used on someone who talked in class....a slap on the wrist with a ruler.
You'd better get a new history book. George Washington was for international involvement
George Washington was not an isolationist. He was for American non dependence through submission to other nations.
No. Libya has already identified the 4 slowest protesters.
Jack....apparently you never felt the wrath of a nun with a ruler. Ninja nuns had the kind with metal straight edge inserted on them. Our Ninja nuns drew blood and could handle a yardstick or 3 ft rubber tip pointer with the sword fighting ability of Cyrano de Bergerac and Robin Hood. The stealth of hiding the weapon up their sleeve and magically attacking out of thin air struck fear in the hearts of many a brave lad.
President Obama the man who delivers JUSTICE! Amen!
He did??..where??...
starsailer you are full of crap.
I agree starsailing. I have known plenty of youths assaulted by the nuns.
Unfortunately those that want anything but Obama have such an empty suit running for office they have no choice but to attack the President. This is the same president that took flack when running for the presidency by saying he would go into a foreign nation to catch Osama bin Laden if necessary. This is the same President that did give the order to do exactly that. He is a real man of his words and not one of the chicken hawks like draft dodging Romney. Paris, Oh please. Or the senile McCain who would have us in at least a couple more wars by now.
"Starsailing" represents the epitome of the liberal ignorance machine with his pathetic factless comments all over the few sites I have time to read. What a contrast to those who try to post something thought-provoking and even somewhat factual.
He's obviously unemployed...perhaps always has been...with mega time on his hands to spout his diarrhea, when he should be spending even a little of his time on some real research...instead of repeating the same dumb canned taking points over and over...taking up valuable space.
Annie.......you just took up valuable space and wasted it when you could be doing research on ...fox news dumber....it shows actual studies that show people who watch Fox news are dumber after watching Fox news!
Let me know when you create a new National Park Annie then I'll listen to your heart felt thoughts! In the meantime, enjoy flipping burgers or whatever you do!
Kappa Man Stew ---- maybe you should refresh yourself a little bit:
George Washington in his farewell address placed the accent on isolationism
in a manner that would be long remembered:
Washington was promulgating a perspective that was already venerable and
accepted by many. The United States terminated its alliance with France, after
which America's third president, Thomas Jefferson, admonished in his inaugural address, "peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none."
What's with all the Annies?
Starsailing takes over for Fiesty on the evening shift. Just spouts the Democrats talking points and calls everyone else stupid. Get a life.
PORTS:: the right side?:?? get real Muslims were slaughtering Muslims - never was our fight and the entire world benefits when those animal are busy slaughtering each other - they can stop when only peace loving Muslims are left if there is even such an animal
This highly violent, evocative film ran internationally while the 9/11 plotters were preparing.
In the movie “Rules of Engagement”, protesters (including women and children in beautiful Arab clothing) were graphically killed (depicted on screen for a long time with close-up shots) by Americans protecting a U.S Embassy. The Army officer in charge was deemed innocent after a trial.
People in the movie audience during 2000.
In late 1999, a group of men from Hamburg, Germany arrived in Afghanistan, including Mohamed Atta, Marwan al-Shehhi, Ziad Jarrah, and Ramzi bin al-Shibh.[151] Bin Laden selected these men because they were educated, could speak English, and had experience living in the west.[152] New recruits were routinely screened for special skills and al-Qaeda leaders consequently discovered that Hani Hanjour already had a commercial pilot's license.[153]
Hanjour arrived in San Diego on December 8, 2000, joining Hazmi.[154] They soon left for Arizona, where Hanjour took refresher training. Marwan al-Shehhi arrived at the end of May 2000, while Atta arrived on June 3, 2000, and Jarrah arrived on June 27, 2000. Bin al-Shibh applied several times for a visa to the United States, but as a Yemeni, he was rejected out of concerns he would overstay his visa and remain as an illegal immigrant. Bin al-Shibh stayed in Hamburg, providing coordination between Atta and Mohammed. The three Hamburg cell members all took pilot training in South Florida.
In spring 2001, the secondary hijackers began arriving in the United States.[155] In July 2001, Atta met with bin al-Shibh in Spain, where they coordinated details of the plot, including final target selection. Bin al-Shibh also passed along bin Laden's wish for the attacks to be carried out as soon as possible

Reel Bad Arabs: How Hollywood Vilifies a People (2006) (V) More at IMDbPro »
ad feedback
This groundbreaking documentary dissects a slanderous aspect of cinematic history that has run virtually unchallenged form the earliest days of silent film to today's biggest Hollywood blockbusters. Featuring acclaimed author Dr. Jack Shaheen, the film explores a long line of degrading images of Arabs--from Bedouin bandits and submissive maidens to sinister sheikhs and gun-wielding "terrorists"--along the way offering devastating insights into the origin of these stereotypic images, their development at key points in US history, and why they matter so much today. Shaheen shows how the persistence of these images over time has served to naturalize prejudicial attitudes toward Arabs and Arab culture, in the process reinforcing a narrow view of individual Arabs and the effects of specific US domestic and international policies on their lives. By inspiring critical thinking about the social, political, and basic human consequences of leaving these Hollywood caricatures unexamined, the film challenges viewers to recognize the urgent need for counter-narratives that do justice to the diversity and humanity of Arab people and the reality and richness of Arab history and culture. Reel Bad Arab
18 March 2007 | by kabboud (United States) – See all my reviews
This simple truth of how Arab in whole are vilified in both media and movies needs to be told. Just as other ethnic groups before, their voices need to be heard so that hate crimes and discrimination can be avoided. The first step is through documentaries such as this one. The narrator, Jack Shaheen has written other great books such as The TV Arab, which in text shows and uncovers a lot of the same criminalization of Arabs through movies and TV series, as well as the mainstream media. The next step is by telling people about these documentaries so that people can become informed about the truth. Jack Shaheen approaches this delicate yet critical topic in the most respectable and professional manner.
Great Film!
They used to steal our clothing off of our ships. They used clever long poles like the ones once used to take merchandise from tall shelves. They'd poke these hooked sticks through open portholes. They were good at snagging stuff hung on hangers, laying about, etc. The portholes were invariably open because of the heat. We assumed this meant stealing stuff from our ships was not a crime of the moment but instead a long-term process. Maybe you saw different people than we did.
Nice story Tom, and these portholes were how high off the water line? Where were you again when this happened?

and where was Obama headed after this all hit the news? Back on the campaign trail. What an ass. He needed to stay "at work" at the white house and do his job. I think he is confused just what that job is. I've never known a President to make the talk show circuit like he does and just research how much he plays golf. Does the guy ever work? He desperately needs to be voted out of office.
1. There is no coverup of spin on Fast N Furious, Per repub invesigator Issa...Fact!
2. Not iD voting , it is voter suppression laws a series of numerous laws created by repubs to remove any voter block of people who do not vote republican/fact!
3. Repubs have "war on women" laws being pushed to take away womens rights on pay, rape, abuse, women's health issues at Planned parenthood, women's right to birth control etc. FACT!
4.There was no refused to meet meeting with PM of Israel planned per whitehouse! Fact!
5. Your eye rolling maybe from seizure...seek a Dr. for immediate help before any more damage is done!Fact!
6. Typical rt winger lying rant! Why do republicans lie so often? Oh that's right, President Obama pulling ahead in latest polls....repubs desparate and won't let fact checking get in the way!
7. 17 of 24 Romney advisors from Bush/Cheney regime, now you know why Romney lied and lipped off w/out knowing facts on Libya. Here repubs go again...any body remember Iraq and Afganistan war started by the Bush cronies? Remember how Bush gave up on Bin Laden? All repub politicians avoiding Romney because of his stupid lies and statements made on Libya.
Vote President Obama/Biden and Team America and stop the obstruction and destruction of America by the greedy rich!
Starsailing, you are nothing more than a reverberating talking point, go back to sleep, and come join the adult conversation when you can produce a thought of your own.
Yep, Republicans trying to suppress voters like this Democrat:
Mississippi NAACP leader sent to prison for 10 counts of voter fraud
By Matthew Vadum - 7/29/2011
While NAACP President Benjamin Jealous lashed out at new state laws requiring photo ID for voting, an NAACP executive sits in prison, sentenced for carrying out a massive voter fraud scheme.
In a story ignored by the national media, in April a Tunica County, Miss., jury convicted NAACP official Lessadolla Sowers on 10 counts of fraudulently casting absentee ballots. Sowers is identified on an NAACP website as a member of the Tunica County NAACP Executive Committee.
Sowers received a five-year prison term for each of the 10 counts, but Circuit Court Judge Charles Webster permitted Sowers to serve those terms concurrently, according to the Tunica Times, the only media outlet to cover the sentencing.
“This crime cuts against the fabric of our free society,” Judge Webster said.
Sowers was found guilty of voting in the names of Carrie Collins, Walter Howard, Sheena Shelton, Alberta Pickett, Draper Cotton and Eddie Davis. She was also convicted of voting in the names of four dead persons: James L. Young, Dora Price, Dorothy Harris, and David Ross.

War on Women? You sure some Democrats aren't involved in that:
The “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act” was first introduced to the 112th Congress in the House of Representatives by two Congress members, one Democrat and one Republican, Dan Lipinski (D, IL) and Chris Smith (R, NJ)? Did you know that a number of Democratic Congress members co-sponsored this bill along with Akin and Ryan? The list of the Democratic Congress members who co-sponsored this bill include: Dan Boren (D, OK), Jerry Costello (D, IL), Mark Critz (D, PA), Joe Donnelly (D, IN), Tim Holden (D, PA), Mike McIntire (D, NC), Collin Peterson (D, MN), Nick Rahall (D, WV), Mike Ross (D, AR), Heath Shuler (D, NC).
The prohibitions on funding abortions with taxpayer money does not apply shall not apply to--
1 (A) an abortion (i) ‘in the case of a pregnancy that is the result of an act of rape or incest, or
‘(ii) in the case where a woman suffers from a physical disorder, physical injury, or physical illness that would, as certified by a physician, place the woman in danger of death unless an abortion is performed, including a life-endangering physical condition caused by or arising from the pregnancy, and
2 (B) ‘the treatment of any infection, injury, disease, or disorder that has been caused by or exacerbated by the performance of an abortion.’.
(I.E. - funding shall be allowed for what appears in numbers 1 and 2 above)
You did forget a few things in your list, one being that Republicans want all elderly and children to starve to death in the streets. Another one that Republicans want the entire U.S. covered in oil and pesticides because they don't care about the environment. Even if conservatives do donate more to charity than liberals, Republicans are still only for the evil, filthy rich.
Republicans continue to lie because they have nothing else to stand on. They have a strong conviction for power and they will pursue it at the expense of the American people. This party has been taken over by right wing racist religious fanatics. I'm ashamed we let corporate America take over our party, I'm ashamed of what what we have become...... Any Republican that continues to support the parties position, is proably a scared raciest, scared of a changing world.
Starsailing: Again w/ the jealousy of the rich? They are bad because they worked hard?
With all the noise the media is making about Romney's wealth, I don't recall such bluster and hand-wringing over the Kennedy fortune. Or, for that matter, John Kerry's. Or the fact that John Kerry gave virtually nothing to charity while Romney gave something on the order of $4 million...in addition to his entire inheritance from his father. Oh. Wait. I just remembered. Romney is Republican. Kerry and the Kennedys are Democrats. Also, Romney worked for his money. Kennedy inherited his. And Kerry married it. Never mind. Sorry ~ nothing to see here folks. Move along.
Nothing against normal rich at all, they pay their fair share of taxes etc. It is the GREEDY rich who are paying repubs to rig the elections with voter suppression laws to get Romney elected to create more laws to take from the middle class and poor and give to themselves. You know the story....you just want to complain because the middle class say no more. How quickly you forget how the GREEDY rich collapsed the economy under Bush..... Romney and Fox sheeple go along with it because they can't comprehend the big picture! Romney Ryan want to to kill Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, the Post office, end taxes on capital gains, lower all taxes on the GREEDY rich, and privatize everything so the GREEDY rich can get a piece of the money pie. Of course, all privatization ends up costing Americans more! You whine about people who inherited money but forgot to mention Romney! Duh! He worked for his money? Ahahahahaha too funny...
Move along, your rant doesn't play with me!
Obama/Biden 2012 and Team Democratic Party believe all Americans should pay their fair share of taxes and will protect the middle class and poor from predatory GREEDY rich people like Romney/Rove/Norquist!
Interesting how Starsailing replies to Here2Opine but not to hs321. Talking points are nice starting point to debate, when questioned on them you really should try to defend them not just spout more different ones.
There is always more to the story. I despise both polical parties and many news stories when they supply only part of the information in hopes to sway opinions.
Yep.....Always more to the story!
http://openchannel.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/08/11/13236464-new-database-of-us-voter-fraud-finds-no-evidence-that-photo-id-laws-are-needed
OK - regarding the Mississippi case: How many voter IDs would have prevented that?
NBC????really, yes and they tote the party line better than Barry himself. Try an independent source SS. Or are you afraid of the truth.
Roger, nice hate spewing, bigotive lie you spew. So all republican, christians, Jews, etc are evil and only your little dope smoking buddies are ok? What a hypocrite
wow hs321,
those 10 votes sure did make a difference. how 'bout the THOUSANDS of votes that won't be casted because of repubs voter restriction laws? seems only fair to me. if you are playing with cheaters the only way to win is cheat too!
Let me understand something , are you saying that needing an ID to vote is somehow against Dems and for Repubs ? So your saying that more Dems have no ID than Repubs ? WTF ? I wouldn't think that having an ID had anything to do with party affiliation , but ok lets assume your right and more Dems than Repubs have no ID , what does that say about Dems ?
Because the Democratic party embraces poor people whom the Republican party attacks it says that Republicans will attack those voters.
Poor has nothing to do with having an ID or not having one after all they only cost about 2 packs of cigs worth of money and make people employable because without an ID you can't get a job these days !
CUT OFF "ALL FOREIGN AID' TO THE COUNTRIES IN THE MIDDLE EASE. No more free rides on the backs of the American taxpayers.
Everytime we help them, they are like wild animals and will always bite off the hand that feeds them.
BRING OUR BOYS HOME...
WRITE YOUR REPRESENTATIVE, put the pressure on hin/her.
Sharri........why did repubs block the bill to end free ride by companies taking tax breaks to off shore jobs on 7-19-12? Why did repubs block that same bill to give tax breaks to companies that would bring jobs back to America?
Why? Because repubs like the taxpayer footing the bill for their profits. Repubs like Romney like those profits and pay going into offshore accounts where they can avoid and Illegally evade paying taxes! Bain is being investigated for financial fandango of paying profits out to investors so it ends up as money to be taxed as lower capital gains tax instead of higher rate of tax! In other words..REPUBS ARE GREEDY, That's why they blocked a bill with no amendments on that would end the "FREE RIDE" of tax payer money!
Vote Obama/Biden end the free ride of the greedy rich at the expense of the middle class!
starsailing, you are as clueless as the empty suit you suppport.
Star: it's the dems that want all taxpayers on the welfare "free ride" you type about. It's called Socialism, and if I wanted that, I'd leave this country. US is not and WILL NEVER be a country of socialism, no matter how much you libs want it.
Talking about Romney and his offshoring buddies with their corporate "free ride welfare" with offshore tax breaks? Why did repubs block the bill on 7-19-12 that would take away tax breaks from the companies that offshore jobs? Why did repubs block the bill that would remove subsidies for big oil when the oil execs testified before congress that they did not need them?...The Corporate welfare story knows no bounds. Ryan and Romney want to lower taxes on the rich and make middle class and poor pay for them...! FACT! Ryan plan takes food from starving children and families and gives that money to the GREEDY rich in tax breaks!FACT!
The GREEDY rich are the welfare queens and King Romney and Queen Ryan want to rule over the peasants! I say NO!
Vote President Obama/Biden and end welfare for the Greedy rich Romney's of the world!
Thanks for repeating it, Starsailing. It's all true and how anyone thinks the republican economic platform can be good for America is beyond me.
Starsailing-Keep sailing-you are right on. The Repubs are trying a switch and bait so we won't be noticing the fact that they are all about money and power. There is no help for the people in a Repub administration. They are like vampires sucking the life out of the people. They would drain medicare, social security, health care, childrens programs, education and women. How do we know this? Well, they told us so. They have mesmerised some people with a few glib promises of a better future with no real substance of how they would do it because the only ones they are looking out for is the ones with the deep pockets. How people can support a man who keeps his wealth in Swiss bank accounts is beyond me? For the USA? I don't think so. He shows it in everything he says and does. Clap, calp, wake up America. Obama is the only one thinking of our future.
Sheila.....Ports ...
Well one thing is for sure, repubs love money over anything else. When Romney thought out the problem of what to do with Bin Laden if he became president, he did not think for the country, for the victims of 911, for the families who had loved ones killed...Romney looked at the corporate balance sheet and made a short term call to keep money in the offshore account! After President Obama and Team America killed Bin Laden, Mitt jumped into his mental wayback machine and said he would have made the same decision as President Obama.......That is the mark of a deranged man detached from the world of reality. Then again, repubs have their new campaign slogan of "Don't let fact checking get in the way!"
Well, this filthy liberal wants nothing he didn't work for and honestly earn. I want all taxpayers to pay the same fair rate. If anything, capitol gains taxes should be at a higher rate, because no real work was done to earn that money. Unemployment and Social Security? Not "entitlements", they are "earned benefits" I don't know a single person receiving benefits that wouldn't trade them in a heartbeat for a good paying job. The so-called "job creators" have shot themselves in the foot, and for all their "business acumen" are incredibly short sighted and stupid. Do they not realize they are killing their customers? By driving wages down, they are killing off the very revenue streams they need to prosper.
Here is a summary of the bill you are talking about starsailing ,
_______________________________________________________
This summary was written by the Congressional Research Service, a nonpartisan arm of the Library of Congress. GovTrack did not write and has no control over these summaries.
7/9/2012--Introduced.Bring Jobs Home Act - Amends the Internal Revenue Code to:(1) grant business taxpayers a tax credit for up to 20% of insourcing expenses incurred for eliminating a business located outside the United States and relocating it within the United States, and(2) deny a tax deduction for outsourcing expenses incurred in relocating a U.S. business outside the United States. Requires an increase in the taxpayer's employment of full-time employees in the United States in order to claim the tax credit for insourcing expenses.
__________________________________________________
now one thing about that bill that jumps out at me right away is the unfair advantage that bill would give to a company that was already outsourcing vs a company that never outsourced . I would not have voted for such a bill either because I wouldn't want an outsourcing company to gain an unfair advantage over one that never outsourced , or can you wrap your head around that ?
Personally I think that bill was made purely for political gain assuming the common person would not actually read the bill and the misleading headlines would carry all the weight needed .
Starsailing,
Did u know the co-chair of Obama's re-election campaign is Federico Pena who made his fortune as a venture capitalist (Vestar Capital Partners) like Romney only Pena wasn't as good at it.
http://www.nndb.com/people/647/000024575/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federico_Pe%C3%B1a
I'm not a big Romney fan but Obama's actions and inactions result in dead Americans, violations of due process, and disintegration of the USA's Constitution.
Hee Haw
And you are as empty as as Willard Romney's promises...ops, my bad...Willard won't commit to anything so there are no promises.
Adwaup....do you want the jobs back in America where the paychecks and taxes on paychecks come back to America buying goods and services and spreading the wealth throught America? (Stimulus)Or do you just throw the money away with no return. I would vote to have the jobs back in America where it would help get people off welfare etc. Win Win all the way around.
The repubs want outsourcing because they have trick financial accounting to switch profits and pay into an account that appears the taxes that apply, are capital gains taxes. However after GAWKER.COM is exposing Bain tax documents A.G. of New York is investigating Bain and a number of companies for "evading taxes"
Funny how the country ran just fine before the rich got the tax laws changed to outsource the hell out of the country for greedy profit!
Yes it was political...Repubs say they want jobs in America and would not vote for it! McConnell wanted to attach killling ACA ammendment to it, Reid said no! Repubs need to stop lying and admit they want to keep outsourcing jobs for greedy profit! Now their actions prove it!
Either you are with us or against us! Repubs are against us!
Don't care about Pena...I care about the actions of either party right now. The Dems are with us....The repubs are against American workers!
Star,
ur loyalties r misguided. Pena chopped out thousands of jobs and shut down hundreds of factories just like Romney only Vestar doesn't have success stories like Staples Inc which Bain does have. They do have some interesting successes w/Del Monte and Solo Cups but if u think an Obama Admin can bring sustainable jobs back to America that pay a living wage, why is that going to happen in the next 4 years when it hasn't in the past 4?
http://www.joncaldara.com/2012/09/05/help-us-celebrate-obama-venture-capitalist-co-chair/
The man who hires the Devil is not the Devil. Romney can't make that claim...he is the Devil.
Who are you kidding? You have zero concern about dead Americans! If you were concerned about dead Americans you wouldn't be indorsing a man who has hired GW Bush's former advisers as his own. You remember GW...invaded Iraq...got over 4,000 Americans killed (not to mention over 100,000 Iraqis...but who's counting?).
If you truly believe the current President has disintegrated the Constitution of the United States of America...than you don't actually know what's in it. ...but have a nice day and thank you for playing.
Now there's a job qualification for President of the United States if I've ever seen one!
Republican obstructionism. They won't be able to get away with it during the next 4 years. If they try, it will be the last election they run is as a major party...American is watching!
You tell em Doc!...and more than that!........Why I oughta....
What ya think Ol Doc .......should I lay that long list of facts on Donkey showing how repubs met the night President Obama took office and pledged to take the economy down with obstruction?.......Nice big fat list of facts of repub obstructionism....as big as a Thanksgiving dinner! Bring your Solo cup and set a spell Donkey iffen ya want some larnin! As if you would give a Donkey's jack!
President Obama for the poor, the middle class and the non greedy rich! Romney for the greedy rich! Simple enough for ya?
Hey Doc let's go over to Delmonico's and get some pie! Then later to the Longbranch for a beer! My loyalties are not misguided, my loyalty belongs to Lily Langtree!
Ahhh...Lily. Yes, by all means.
Starsailing & Ol Doc,
Are you two gopped up on goop? or hooked up to the koolaid, intravenously?
No Badger, they are seeing the big picture just fine. And I'll join you guys for that beer.
Call it what you want, it's still koolaid!
You three should get together and watch the documentary "2016"
Ah yes...2016 or "Why we should double-down on Trickle-Down"
Brought to you by Charles and David Koch...'what's in your wallet? ...and purse...and bank account...and buries in your back yard in that old coffee can?"
Doc and Star,
Please clarify for me how y'all got me endorsing either the Dem or Repub schmuck from my statement:
"I'm not a big Romney fan but Obama's actions and inactions result in dead Americans, violations of due process, and disintegration of the USA's Constitution."
The fact is, when Obama signed the treaty w/Karzai he violated Article 2 Section 2 of the Constitution by lacking a supermajority in the Senate. Since you either did not read or don't recall our Constitution here's the link:
http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/charters/constitution_transcript.html
In addition, by executing Anwar al-Awlaki w/o due process he violated historic precedent of Supreme Court interpretations of the 5th and 14th amendments. I will grant you that details of drone use during unconventional war is not specifically spelled out in our Constitution's references to due process; however, if you disagree w/this then 'splain me how it is that we determine which Americans are not entitled to a fair trial before their execution.
http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/human_nature/2011/10/anwar_al_awlaki_and_drone_strikes_on_u_s_citizens_due_process_wo.html
http://www.usconstitution.net/consttop_duep.html
I have numerous other issues w/Mr. Obama's violations of the Constitution he swore to uphold but this is already too long.
Hee Haw
No problem. Do you honestly believe your typing the words makes it so? I could type that I am a life-long follower of Brother John Birch...but my words don't make it so. Your speak "Tea Party'ish"
You are referring to the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA), right? Here's the rub; a SOFA is not a Treaty.
I have a bit of a problem with that also. I'm not a Constitutional scholar and clearly neither are you, but I do believe the man should have been charged (in absentia). Then if convicted, I would have no problem with smoking him. Frankly I won't loose sleep over his sorry ass regardless. I would agree to bringing Obama up on charges when we charge GW Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld for lying us into a war that cost over 4,000 American lives and over 100,000 Iraqis. I certainly hope I addressed your concerns.
Go ahead and express them...I'm all ears (or eyes perhaps).
I am neither for you or against you starsailing and I am all for bringing the jobs back to the US but that bill was not the answer , giving a company a tax break for all costs incurred which is very vague on specifics and not giving that advantage also to their competitor who never outsourced is just plain wrong no matter how you try to slice it !
I would be all for an import tariff on companies that outsource making it FAR less profitable to do so and a lot more appealing to bring those jobs home . That would be a win/win for the government and the people in the US !
Doc,
I may agree w/some points the Tea Party makes but I disagree w/as many so please don't try to pigeon hole me. For example I'm in favor of extremely high tax rates on income over $250K/yr but with generous deductions against taxable income for any expenses associated with employment (either the earner's or their employees); in other words, I'm OK w/folks making a lot of money operating industry which creates/sustains jobs but I'm opposed to that same income level when earned by living off inherited cash.
RE the SOFA, you can say it's not a treaty but it's an agreement committing US military forces to support a foreign government against their enemies which are not necessarily our enemies. According to Article 2 section 2 of the Constitution, the President of the US can enter into these sorts of agreements only with a 2/3 majority of the Senate. Here's a link to the actual constitution wording from our gvt archives; read Article 2 Section 2.
http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/charters/constitution_transcript.html
You can disagree with it but do you think the Supreme Court will? I see an easy 5+ votes that it's a treaty. Even if it is not a treaty, do you really think it's a good idea to commit our military to support a guy who's in bed with the Taliban and black market opium growers?
Hee Haw
adwarp....bringing the company back is not free, it costs money. mMoney out, money back, jobs back, taxes back, money back in community, more jobs back and more and more...
I already know who the killer is.
The Prophet Muhammad.
The U.S. cannot trust anyone, doing so has proven to be deadly. The U.S. helped liberate a country and if we thought this "bought" allegiance from a country that for the most part despises America then we were dreaming. Obama vowed on Wednesday to bring to justice the killers of the U.S. ambassador and three other diplomats in Libya as he sought to avoid election-year fallout from an attack that cast a spotlight on his administration's handling of "Arab Spring" unrest. I reiterate what has already been said by a few.....let me know how this turns out. I can tell you this, if anything positive comes out of this - Obama will take the credit. If things become worse - Obama will not take any ownership but will defer to others any blame. May those who died RIP and God be with their families.
ROMNEY ADVISORS CLAIM THERE ARE WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION IN BECKYBECKYBECKYSTAN!
Romney declares war on BeckyBeckyBeckystan to prevent destruction of United States by BeckyBeckyBeckystan!
Romney says the oil fields in BeckyBeckyBeckystan will pay for the war in BeckyBeckyBeckystan!
Romney has 17 of 24 of his advisers from the Bush/Cheney/Rove tag team of failed policyland. is it any wonder Romney is a warmonger for war profits strawman?
Perhaps you've been at sea a little too long my friend.
hs321....I am not your friend, I am your mentor! Get a clue! Keep reading my posts, I appreciate it!
In my opinion - ANYONE who votes strictly by party are huge contributors to the mess we are in.
You can tell the posters who continually post the same drivel, making no sense, just ranting without any facts are the same ones who are slaves to a political party (as in the above posting).
No party is all bad nor all good - although politicians on whole are pretty slimey.
Traffic ....., I agree.. ...That's why I like to post with facts and.........satire.........you know...like I am doing right now agreeing with you...!
Mr Obama: don't go into that armpit---you are being baited! Order all American citizens out, dont send more of our kids in!
Sorry MLW,
I will have to disagree with you.
An attack on our Consulate is the same as an attack on our soil. We must identify the responsible 'group' and destroy them.
We no longer live in a world where War is something that is only waged between sovereign nations. We are at war with whatever Group attacked us and we must persevere until the job is done.
So if a group of RWNJs attacked the Russian Embassy and killed their Ambassador, you would have no problem allowing the Russian SVR (new and improved KGB) to run loose in the streets of America looking for the Perps?
@ Ol_Doc
Russian intelligence would wok along WITH our U.S. government's federal intelligence agencies to capture them. U.S. Law inforcement offcials would apprehend them, just as the Lybians have done with the four individuals this article referred to, and cooperate with Russian officials in getting to the bottom of this issue. And, YES, our current relationship with Russia is one where anyone found guilty BY US of invading foreign soil "Russian Embassy" and playing a first-hand role in killing Russian citezens, would be extradited to the custody of the Russian government so long as their punishment for such crimes is in line with the ours. Otherwise, the U.S. would carry out their sentences ourselves.
This should be common sense among the citizens of a nation as civilized as the U.S., but it seems that mischievous organization like Fox News have been successful in degrading over two centruries worth of common intellegience progression, of a good portion of America's general population, in just over a decade. Isn't it interesting that the same type of media puppeteers that are behind Fox News.... are also behind the so-called "indie film" (complete BS) that expertly ignited this entire situation at such a convenient time for their common goals?
20 years ago, if you would have told Americas most ignorant racist, bigoted, fearmongerering, intolerant, neo-CONfused citizens that they'd ALL be puddy in the hands of an elite few Jewish media moguls...... do you think they would have responded any differently during the past 14+ years of this Fox News era? No, they would have done they exact same things (voting for Bush, ignoring common sense, enabling terrorism, enabling corporations to gain more influence and power than the government, enabling outsourcing, enabling the housing bubble, etc.. etc...) .....because they are IGNORANT and would welcome armageddon so long as it increases the chances of them seeing their selfish desires come to fruition. Well, that's how these same types of elite Jewish media moguls can easily hold the group of people, who hates them most in the world, like puddy in their hands. They've perfected their craft by manipulating the ignorant Christians of America for over a decade.... by comparison, manipulating 3rd-world Muslims during the middle of an Arab-Spring is mere child's play.
Keep in mind, in the eyes of some of the world's most powerful Jewish businessmen, both Muslims AND Christians are ignorant idiots who are easily manipulated and have a tendancy towards genocide of the Jewish race. Do you think Jewish individuals who have spent decades amassing multi-billion/trillion dollar empires by navigating the corrupt global landscapes of mass media and financial markets, have any qualms about setting Muslims and Christians against each other? Really?
Wow, X box 360, you sure are smart. You figured it out, playing video in your parents basement. Hopefully, there are windows so fresh air can get in there. Do you know who invented the X box 360, yep them Jooows, Those games that you use, and that control your mind, yep them again, and the windows, yep, you got it. Can't wait to see what you amass, playing with your X box 360.
So...Libya will help us find the killers?
Is this like when OJ told us he would not rest until he found Nichole's murderer?
Maybe. But when more Marines are sent to Libya and two destroyers stand at the ready, I'm betting they'll cave.
We may find the killers, finding the people behind the planning of the attack will be a different story.
I suspect we won't have to go very far to find the ones that planned it.
I hope not. But how many years did it take to catch the masterminds behind 911?
It took until Obama got in to catch Bin Laden. The repubs just quit. Obama did not forget 911 only the repubs were finished with that. No money in it for them.
hopefully now most some what reasonable, somewhat intelligent votors see how dangerous mitt would make it for all our citizens who travel abroad and for our military men and women if a loud mouth unqualified joke of a presidential canidate like him was in the white house, keep this in mind this is not the 1st time he has did this he can't keep his trap shut and reason until it is too late , he ticked off most everyone last time he tried the foreign policy trip including our allies the brits, the man is incapable of being our president and should scare the crap out of anyone who travels outside of american soil, you would almost have to be missing a few cards in the deck if you voted for mitt now
I am a somewhat reasonable intelligent voter who has spent over thirty years in the military, fought in two wars, and I agree with Mitt. When this country is attacked (an embassy is American Soil), our response needs to be immediate and harsh. The only thing that culture understands is force, look at its history.
You sir are a troll, and I don't believe you have even left the mall, much less been outside of this country.
I AM VOTING FOR MITT, HE HAS BALLS, AND HE IS NOT A COWARD. If you ask most military people, they are voting for Mitt as well....does that tell you something?
ROMNEY CREATES WAR SLOGAN FOR HIS WAR ON BECKYBECKYBECKYSTAN!
First he tried, "Remember the Alamo" as was told by Rove that was used in the war against Mexico.
Second he tried "One if by land two if by sea!" Norquist reminded him that was an alert the patriots used to signal the British were coming in the Revoltionary war.
Third he tried " Costoco shirts comes 3 in a pack!" Cheney slapped Romney.
Then Romney settled on "Tippecanoe and Tyler too, I've got mine and I want yours too!"
They agreed and Romney annouced the war cry and led his advisers......"To the rear forward!
Yes...Romney for a worse tomorrow today!
I approve this message, Starsailing.
Just a BAD Visual, @harborsideappraisal-
Mitt is an empty shell without an original thought. I have no doubt that he consulted one or two of his "businessman" handlers before releasing his inaccurate and inflammatory statement. If Mitt wants to be a target for the violence, maybe he can go offshore to visit his $ so the rest of us aren't hurt by his stupidity. He's an empty suit. Don't know about his balls. Ewwwww
This one isn't, and I completely disagree with your assessment. I'd rather have a commander that thinks actions through, than one that reacts immediately, in the wrong manner, to an unknown situation.
Not a troll, should change name to A TROLL because that is what you are doing
Harborside,
"The only thing that culture understands is force, look at its history."
Really??? Do you have a single example where the use of "force" in the middle east actually accomplished the intended goal?
I can't think of a single one.
From the First Crusade to the Iraqi war, not a single use of 'force' has accomplished anything that it was intended to.
harborside,
yes it does tell us something. that the military votes for who gives them the most money. just like everybody else!
Well harborside...I guess your additional 9 years in gives you insight I don't possess. Who exactly would you bomb? You want to go blow the hell out of somebody, who exactly do you want to kill? Or does the who even matter? Anyone who wraps a towel around their head fair game? Clearly you didn't command anything in the military, I mean who could trust you to not get people killed with a knee-jerk reaction? Military personnel are rather selective in their target acquisition. Therefore, I wouldn't count on a majority of service members (and even fewer veterans) who will end up voting for Willard.
Not that I'm a fan of Mitt but historically Alexander the Great, the Ottomans, the Kurds, Saddam, the Israelis and numerous others have done pretty well using force in the Middle East. It doesn't solve all the problems but it can keep our folks alive long enough to start the diplomacy process.
IMO we need a dead man zone around our ME embassies and then let Darwin's laws resolve this.
Hee Haw
Alexander the Great - died at age 32 - he never made it home.
Ottoman Empire - oh yea...haven't been around in a hundred years.
The Kurds - Gassed by Saddam, oppressed by the Turks (real success story).
Saddam - Oh yes...he's dead now.
Israelis - Surrounded by enemies (probably wouldn't exist were it not for the USA)
You've chosen some really interesting success stories to prove your point. And what sort of "diplomacy process" are you referring to?
I say .....send em Michelle Bachmann, that will make anyone beg for mercy!
Words of wisdom:
"Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding. Force always attracts men of low morality."
"We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them (because) no problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it. We shall require a substantially new manner of thinking if mankind is to survive." Albert Einstein
Doc,
Wow you can misinterpret my words faster than I can type them. The Diplomacy process I refer to is the one we can no longer have since our Libyan diplomat is dead. The strong arm examples I give demonstrate the ways of the world in the ME.
32 was a typical lifespan in Alexander the Great's time.
Ottomans ruled for 600 yrs. How long has America existed? Not 600 yrs.
Kurds have been oppressed but they've been around about as long, maybe longer if you count their ancestors the Medes.
Saddam is dead but who kept Iraq more stable him by himself or us with the whole International Coalition?
And thank you for supporting my point about the Israelis not being able to survive were it not for their extreme military actions supported by the USA.
You can have the last word. I really don't want to argue this. I'm just trying to make the point that this is the way of their world, not ours. So we can't expect things that work in America to work in the Middle East.
Hee Haw
Intelligent Donkey
So what? My family has existed for at least 125,000 years.
And by the way, it is the way of OUR world. We have fought a war of some size or type pretty much every 20 years for the last 200. I don't think that qualifies us as peace loving. We are the only nation on earth that has used nuclear weapons on another nation (we're not virgins). According to estimates, we killed over 15 million Native Americans while we were stealing ourselves a home (seemed like the Christian thing to do).
I served in the United States Armed Forces for over 20 years. I served during the Vietnam war, Grenada, Panama, Gulf War, and Bosnia. I am under no illusions as to what we are capable of, nor am I under illusions as to what Muslim religious extremists are capable of. I will not, however, live in fear of a bunch of wack jobs in the middle-east...Period! When pushed to it, we are capable of being much more dangerous than anyone in the middle-east has ever been or can ever be.
"I AM VOTING FOR MITT, HE HAS BALLS, AND HE IS NOT A COWARD. If you ask most military people, they are voting for Mitt as well....does that tell you something?"
Easy to let your testosterone get going and use your balls. Much, much harder to use your brain. That's why I'm supporting the President and not Mittens. Might have been different if he or any of his 5 sons had served, but not one of them did. MY grandfather served in WWI, my dad in WWII, my brother and I in Vietnam.
As for "most" military supporting Romney. If true, that is one more reason why the military in this country is under civilian control.
Doc,
Thank you for your and your family's service to our country but I doubt your family is 125,000+ yrs old and there is a big difference between nations waging war and bands of thugs attacking innocents.
125,000 yrs ago pre-human apes had learned to walk on their hind feet freeing their hands for other tasks and were developing simple tools and the associated intelligence to use them; for example, the bow & arrow was invented ~20,000-25,000 BC. There was little family structure beyond a man, his children, and the woman/women who bore them. Life expectancy was only ~25-35 yrs so there was little if any concept of grandchildren or grandparents to sustain a family lineage.

You are correct about our frequent wars but my point refers to person on person violence, not nation on nation violence. Americans wage war as a nation unified behind our elected government and seeking diplomatic solutions both before and during the conflict. My above comments refer to how the Middle East is still primarily composed of petty war lords and religious leaders who band warrior males together out of fear of other warrior males similar to how street gangs work today in America. But the Crypts and Bloods don't have nuclear weapons like the Shiites are developing in Iran nor do they have the stockpiles of conventional weapons used by the Arab Sunis. It's also rare that the Crypts and Bloods will use military weapons in an organized attack on civilian non-gang members; most of the conflicts the Crypts and Bloods get into is with each other or other gangs invading their turf. However, there are many such gangs in the Middle East who use conventional military weapons on unarmed civilian targets at least once a month in attempts to gain political power.
This is the way of their world. When America does this in war it is generally considered a crime and we investigate it and bring justice upon those responsible like in My Lai and Son My. The only countries in the Middle East that seem to care about this is Israel and to some extent Turkey and Jordan. Until the Middle East has leaders who can police and speak for all their people including these war lords and religious leaders the American system of war and diplomacy is ineffective.
Hee Haw
I think they will help us identify and locate the group responsible because it's in their best interest to do so, but I don't understand why we build and staff embassies in countries that don't have the capability to provide necessary security. A detachment of Marines can't be expected to repel hundreds or thousands of well armed attackers.
G-Dog:
A detachment of embassy Marines is one hell of a fighting force, who can call in heavy fire support from overhead aircraft and off shore Navy guns. We just needs a Commander in Chief who does his job and allow the troops to respond, and not worry what the rest of the world thinks. An attack on an Embassy (any Embassy) is considered an act of war, and we should take the handcuffs (read approval from POTUS) off of them and let them do their job.
Hi G-Dog, I think that Libya helping to track down these people will be equal to Pakistan help us to hunt down BinLaden, the same guy that had a mansion built down the street from their military academy or base. However you are correct the few marines can't and are not suppose to be the entire security; the host country is suppose to provide needed security thereby keeping the need for foreign military strength to be necessary
They aren't. MARDET is small enough to provide physical security for diplomats, and oversee immediate evac. Holding actual ground is outsourced to the host nation. Not necessarily a strategy I agree with, but you can't station a battalion of Marines at every embassy across the globe.
A movie on youtube was just an excuse for violence against America. It was no accident the attacks happened on 911.
The news last night stated there were no Marines at the consulate. Libyan guards were killed as well as Americans.
My question is... It was the anniversary of 911, why wasn't the American consulates under Marine guard to show strength, especially on this day? Those that attacked us just wait for such opportunities. When will we learn? They may have still attacked but I can guarantee our Marines would have at least leveled the playing field. We can show strength without starting a war.
Yes, our ambassador knew he had a dangerous job and may he and the others RIP. But there is no reason our people shouldn't be protected by American soldiers, especially in volatile areas.
Thank's KJ...I was going to respond to supersquid but his dribble is getting old...older than me.
The US Embassy in Libya is located in Tripoli. The attack was at a satellite consulate in Benghazi.
Why was the Ambassador in the lightly protected consulate in Benghazi rather than the more heavily defended Embassy in Tripoli? Would you expect all satellite consulates to be equally protected or would you concentrate your forces in the Embassy?
Can a boy from a small room , find happiness in a big chair? By the way, whatever happened to Naomi?
I would definitely head them off at the pass! Time and time again, every western movie shows that successful tactic!
It is crazy that an American President would ever appolligize for someone with free speech hurting the muslium's feelings. These murderers deserve a bullet in the face and a spit on their grave... I think Allah and Muhammad are butt buddies in hell and i dont care who it offends..
There was no apology!
ROMNEY ADMITS THERE ARE NO WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION IN BECKYBECKYBECKYSTAN!
On the "Meathead of the Nation" show. Romney admitted there were no weapons of mass destruction in BeckyBeckyBeckystan. He stated that the banks in BeckyBeckyBeckystan must be set free to hide his investment money so he can avoid paying taxes to the U.S.
Romney declared that each new account opening in BeckyBeckybeckystan banks will receive a fake autographed pack of shirts from Costco. Romney remarked, "They come 3 in a pack!"
Romney/Cheney/Bush/Rove/Norquist for a worse tomorrow today!
Thanx StarSailing, you just reminded me how to use the "ignore this author" button. C'ya - well, not anymore!
Your welcome! Bye!
right on we don't need to be sorry to any country. we need to back off every country that excepts are help only to stab us in the back. how many time's over the years have we seen towel headed countries burning our flag. it is time to lock and load. get out of their countries, stop all aid, money & medical, & stop all visa's i know this country started with people from all countries & religions. but these are differant time's. we need to bring back all of our troops from all countries now, evan the citizens of okinawa don't want us there. bring them all back, start building town's on are borders say about 200 mi apart one lane roads between, patrolled by road & air. each town is completly manned & built by military men & women. bring the draft back no exceptions men & women. this way the people in the military will have job's & places to live. no outside contractors, (NONE) no exceptions. outside contractors are getting as much as $100.000 a day per man. it is definetly a very dangerous job, but that's what they sign up for. also for any of reading this post, check out (FEMA CAMPS)(GRAY STATE)(PLANET INFOWARS)(ALEX JONE'S)
Billy Barty, please return to your double wide and learn some English for heaven's sake.
starsailing - Weird...you must have hurt someones feelings. Great posts...too bad I have to keep un-collapsing them.
Hi Doc, well as Mae West used to say...you can't keep a good man down!
Doc-same here. Then I give him another vote. There is another one like that on this site. Seems to happen to those who are too...effective.
billy barty
Don't be concerned...this is the second floor. The third floor is for the criminally insane...we just want you to take this pill.
Reminds me of my late mother's favorite quote (though I never learned who she was quoting): "Behold the happy moron, he doesn't give a damn, I wish I were a moron...good God, perhaps I am.
Billy Barty... I don't know where (or if) you went to school but, if I were you, I'd try to get my money back. "English spoken here." (Although, reading some of these posts, I'm beginning to wonder.)
starsaling... Ignore the stupidity. "Don't wrestle with pigs. Everybody gets dirty and the pig loves it." Doc... I open them and leave them open. Geez, there is some semblance of sanity out there. Thanx
They're going to "help" the US catch the killers ? And just how much of our money will we have to keep sending over there to ensure their cooperation ?
Oh I don't know. They arrested four already. Someone will crack. Shouldn't take too long.
They want our MONEY while they attack and kill and parade our people's bodies through their streets. Cut 'em off!
I agree. I don't understand why we're there apparently they hate the U.S. so lets get the hell out. Let them find somebody else to hate.
JGARAY57
I agree. I don't understand why we're there apparently they hate the U.S. so lets get the hell out. Let them find somebody else to hate.
U.S. and Libyan officials, independent analysts and postings on Islamist websites from known militant activists suggested that the attack — which officials had previously suggested was retaliation for release of a movie critical of the Muslim Prophet Muhammad — may have been a pre-planned, orchestrated assault.
as far as i seen it was the people of lybia doing the attack and killing, they may have had extremist in the mist of it all but pretty much its been the people who lived in each country protesting, and this is why no financial or physical help for them anymore, its time to choke the weazzle and in this case choke the dogs of war, any protesting done and peeps get hurt or killed is reason enough to leave and let them eat sand,
as far as barak comment saying he and lybia will catch the killers
thats got to be the biggest political BS and laugh put out by our government yet
barak hasnt done dick and needs to be impeached but hey we didnt impeach bush and he failed miserably over and over im sure we will be dragged down with the usa ship to the bottom of the ocean
you cant fix rabies and that how the middle east peeps are acting like rabid war dogs
i voted for you the first time barak but now i see the light you are no different than any of our other corrupt presidents with your games and lies,
one thing for sure a fool cannot fool a fool vim voting for romney
Keith-And you would be wrong. You probably wouldn't realize it until your social security and medicare are not there for you when you reach old age or when you go to the hospital thinking you have insurance so you will be taken care of only to find that it just doesn't cover this procedure and you go bankrupt as others have. Lucky for you, Romney isn't going to win this election.
Keith... "a fool cannot fool a fool vim voting for romney"
Apparently, Keith, you can't see the forest for the trees. Maybe these quotes will help:
"Corporations are people." The U.S. Supreme Court
"Corporations ar people, my friend." Willard "Mitt" Romney
"Fascism should more appropriately be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power." Benito Mussolini
Are we "gettin' it" yet?
I am looking at the whole picture here. With keeping an open mind, I decided to search the web further on Libyans and how they feel about the murder of Chris Stevens. Do you know that they have taken to the streets to protest and condemn the attack on the US Consulate and the killing of Chris Stevens. I am curious to know why MSN and all of the media are not relaying this story ANYWHERE!!!! This is my problem with the news. They only report what they feel will get a rise from anyone (be it the government, the people, the military, etc.). They never show the good side of people. There is so much more that I want to say about this but it would be pages long. I am tired of sensationilsm. I just want the news straight up, without the opinions of the reporter, etc. And if you are going to report, then report ALL of the story.
Margie, the protest sign against the violence is the first picture in this article. It caught my eye right away, and I realized there are citizens in the area protesting this violence. Maybe MSN will follow through with more in-depth reporting of the protests.
Oh Ladies stop, you know , when you put lipstick on a pig, oh wait maybe you don't Margie, I like the "They never show the good side of people" like holding puppies, Fall mornings with coffee, walks on the beach, unicorns.... Show us the terrorists home life, maybe like Cribs terrorists, we can meet their families, see they are people too. Here's a suggestion, remember the hikers who took that trip , or the Berg fellow, call their travel agent, and send us back pictures, so we can get the real story...from you
(bs)(bo)nbc has no clue what real reporting is! All they want to do is be "firstest with the leastest." Then when the real story backfires on them, has no foundation in facts, or doesn't support the drugdream the writer (will NOT denigrate by calling them journalists) came up with, they ignore it, sweep it under the rug, never bring it up again, give no response....well, you know where that daisy chain goes.
About the only mission I have found in all of NBCs Obamaloney is that they are leftwing Oblameo supporters that will continue to grind out opinion pieces that have little or no basis in fact. Now, how long do you think this will last until it is collapsed or deleted or I am banned?
There has been much in the media about how outraged the Libyans are; and the lack of remorse on the Egyptian side. Well, nobody in Egypt got killed (yet), so that might account for some of it-(my thoughts on the subject.) Much of this coming from CNN.
bobby.....President Obama is jumping up in the polls and Romney is falling everyday. Romney chooses to lie about Libya and all the news stations and repubs are jumping on him...TOOOOO FUNNY. Try eating a big plate of current events for supper tonight!
starsailing... LOL! Stop, dude. You're killin' me.
"When people who are honestly mistaken learn the truth, they will either cease being mistaken or cease being honest." Unknown
Why is the media calling these killers
"protesters." Protesters carry signs, not gasoline bombs, AK-47's and mortars!
It's horrific enough that a US ambassador and 3 foreign service members were murdered because of the rumors of a stupid film deriding Islam, but what is disgraceful and disgusting is to have a supposed presidential candidate use this event to further his own political gains. Not only is Wrongney wrong about the facts, he's wrong about appropriate behavior, proirities and basic human dignity. Apparently, he is so full of bool sheet and money, he has no grasp of reality or possesses the basis talent to be POTUS. And as for the perpitrators, like bin Laden, the last thing they will see is the barrel of a gun pointed at their head held by a Navy Seal.
Little Dave......... President Obama did give a firm definitive answer. Your land of reality denial matches that of Romney the flip flopper who changed his position on Libya 4 times in 6 months!
I just asked Bin Laden if President Obama gave hjim a firm definitive answer, and he answered...gurgle gurgle, blub blub!
Americans attacking Americans...let's pray for the sake of the union this proves to be false.
Americans attacking Obama. That's different.
...
The Libyan officials said the investigation will commence November 7th.
...
These people are out of thier f-n minds - They're seriously f-t up in the head.
We need to really start increasing the safe harvesting, production and distribution of our own natural energy here in the USA, rather than paying for fuel from countries where they hate us. Let’s keep that money and those jobs here in the US.
Drilling here at home might not be the whole answer, but it's certainly a good place to start.
There's also solar power. Let's become independent not dependent. America is no longer powerful.
Absolutely, guys! But we need a wholly balanced attack on our overseas dependence on oil. Yes, open up drilling. Cuddle up to Canada and quit screwing the Canadians over. Continue building windfarms. Continue building hydro projects where possible. Investigate wave technology. Investigate low-gradient energy generation systems. Reduce natural resource consumption wherever and whenever possible. Increase the building of mass transit systems.....
Let's get off of the foreign oil tit as soon as possible by doing everything possible to reduce our dependence on non-USA energy sources.
Well JGARAY, solar power is great, but it doesn't work very well at night. Try again.
GTR5
Well JGARAY, solar power is great, but it doesn't work very well at night. Try again.
Wow GTR5...that was really profound.
...ever heard of batteries? They actually store electrical energy. Only been around for a little over 200 years.
Doc... Are you and starsailing the only ones here that aren't afraid to think things through? You guys are cracking me up. Here a couple of a quotes from some fellows that had it wired, so to speak:
"The difference between allegiance and blind allegiance is simple -- it's about putting those critical thinking skills to good use and mindfully analyzing the ethics of a situation before showing support." Krystie Yandoli
"There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance. That principle is contempt prior to investigation." Herbert Spencer
Apparently "critical thinking" and "ethics" are foreign concepts for some of these folks.
listen you guys...Lybya is the young demoncracy country the USA just help them free from their dictator, they still learn how to excercie freedom of speech yet, we has Nut guys from USA worked for GOP and MORMON MIT using the VIDEO FILM to STIR UP TROUBLE over midle East countries, they try to Blamed Obama for everythings...WAKE UP YOU GUY.....Foxnews ALERT: MIT and GOP SPIN OUT OG CONTROL ZONE!
You Fail Miserably. Nice bit of religious hate mongering you are spewing though. You should be proud of yourself for being one of the hypocrites of the day
this is the work of terrors, we do have 911 happen under our watch nothing new but GOP and MIT try to score some political point....SHAME ON THEM!
...
You are so correct.
Freedom of speech should not include holding the president responsible.
...
Lien Trinh, your post is all over the place but try this out; if terrors happen on Obama's watch as you say, how then can you blame the GOP, or MITT. Obama is the president and he has said nothing, matter of fact he talked for two minutes, jumped on a plane to go campaign. Mitt took the stand and said how he felt, is that wrong, as he is running for president.
Lien....you speak the truth. President Obama has a perfect track record of taking care of terrorists while President Bush quit looking for Bin Laden and started a fake war plan in Iraq for war profits and glory.
Romney when asked what he would do about Bin Laden said it was too expensive to look for Bin Laden and would NOT pursue it!
President Obama and Team America killed Bin Laden when Bush couldn't and Romney wouldn't!
Romney the draft dodger would flee to his offshore accounts then to France at the first hint of trouble!
Liar
No one apologized after the attack. Stop listening to Foxx news. The embassy apologized for the idiot film maker BEFORE the attack in hopes of preventing it. They had no authorization to do so, it was their own idea.
If Romney were president you would probably be signing up for the draft.
What the mainstream media doesn't report is that the very tactics used to kill Bin Laden, that were implemented in the Bush admin., are the same tactics that Obama is against. Without Bush's admin and interrogation tactics, there is no Bin Laden death.
Romney was absolutely right for the statement he issued. Spoken like a tru Commander in Chief, not some apologetic coward who is too busy going on Letterman and meeting with Jay/Z to support our Allies.
The media was caught on camera plotting against Romney, trying to bait him into stating regret for the statement and instead of backing down, he doubled down and affirmed why we need him in office. The media is doing this country a disservice by doing everything they can to keep Obama, it makes me sick.
The media says that Romney has not shown any boldness, any back bone or any belief in why he would be a good Comm. in Cheif, well here you go and where does it get him? Criticized. He already has shown more guts in one month than Obama has ever!
If the situation had been reversed and a Repub. was apologizing the media would want to destroy their rep, but when Obama "The Messiah" makes any completely ludicrous remarks, gets caught in a lie or has a damning qoute of his own thrown back in his face they make it seem like it is no big deal.
"If you have no record to run on, then you have to resort to using stale tactics" - Barrack Obama said this during a speech in his 2008 campaign for the presidency, in regards to Bush.
Who is the hyppocrite now?
COWARD!!!!!!
Bush gave up looking for Bin Laden.....Those u tube videos of him telling the nation he did not know where Bin Laden was and he wasn't looking for him anymore are pathetic!
Romney when asked about Bin Laden said he would not search for him because it cost too much money! All the thousands of people dead and dying and Romney looks at the profit and loss column as if the country is a corporation instead of a country of Americans.
President Obama and Team America Killed Bin Laden and keep picking them off day after day!
President Obama Man of Justice!
JT3214347: YOU are 100% CORRECT! IF we are not careful, we will see another Iran Hostage scenario unfold. The same conditions exist, as they did back in 1979.... very weak president, seen by the rest of the world as weak. The economy at home was in shambles, causing distraction. The president so paralized he couldn't move.... by HIS OWN CHOOSING. LEFT embassies grossly under secured, horribly misread and misjudged the crowds and the governments in those countries! The "Arab Spring" knows NO bounds..... and Obama shows NO concern or awareness about the situation in the middle east!! Witness his jaunt to a fund raiser in Nevada, rather than stay put and be "presidental" . Which I guess is why Romney stepped in and addressed the issue.... someone had to fill the vacuum!
Dems. and the Media criticize republicans for starting expensive wars and if THE SEALS hadn't found Bin Laden during B Obamas time then they would have criticized Romney for continuing an expensive war effort, so how can this man win with the biased liberal news media?
I don't have time to throw fact after fact and quote after quote at the rejects who actually beleive Obama is doing something good for America.
One thing I do know, a few months ago, these posts had no where near as many Romney supporters on them as they do now. Hopefully this week fully exposes the cowardice of Obama, running our country into the ground, failed policies, never before seen unemployment/underemployment numbers, etc.
Unemployment, if taken into account all those who no longer receive benefits and have dropped out of the labor force, is at 19%!
Not who this Nation needs. Do yourselves a favor.....
ROMNEY 2012
I never chose a side until 2008, now the side to choose couldn't be clearer.
The only vacuum I see is between your ears.
The SEALS didn't find Bin Laden, they took him out. Bin Laden was found through diligence and hard work by an intelligence community that was re-invigorated when Obama decided to reverse the Bush plan to stop looking for Bin Laden.
Jimmy, Just like October comes after September, PRESIDENT Obama sent a message trying to stave off the attack. THE attack came AFTER the speech. Get your own facts not parrotting the wrong info. I did not vote for him, but like him or not, Any True American is still polite and respectful of the office and calls the President, President.
Star
Dont be so quick to dump on Romney for not serving during Vietnam (I dont like it either), but I dont recall seeing any pictures of Obama in a Military Uniform. And if you remember, Bill Clinton was just like Romney during the Vietnam War. Personally I feel that a Commander in Chief should have some military experience. If you are going to put troops in harms way you should know whats its like to be there in the front lines.
Weak President? You mean like the one we had on 9/11/01?
how you say???!!!... Bingo! I assume you're talking about outfits like Kellogg-Brown-Root (KBR), Halliburton, Blackwater and their ilk? Some folks here just aren't seeing the "Big Picture." And Big Dave seems to be one of them. What you're saying, Dave is you still don't have a clue as to what really drives our economy. Try paying closer attention, okay? And STOP YELLING!!! That goes for you too, jimmy.
Bullet... Wow! Good argument. How very profound. Polly want a cracker? JT... You're absolutely right. One should never let mere facts get in their way. jeff... President Obama was 14 years old when the Viet Nam "conflict" ended. Do the math, dummy.
how you say -
"soooooooo why don't we use diplomacy"
We have seen how well the diplomacy has worked with Iran, we have crippled the people of Iran with sanctions, and the leadership is still making a nuke! Come on, diplomacy alone hasn't worked for the past decade or two, especially in the ME. ALL OPTIONS NEED TO BE ON THE TABLE FOR IT TO BE A DETERRENCE!
Time for you to lay off the Kool-aid, take your head out of the sand, and look at what is happening.
Yes, I am a war mongering person, also know the horror of war (been in several), but I understand the nature and culture of the ME, and the ONLY thing they understand is force.
You need to leave the SHOPPING MALL, realize that WE are still at War, probably always will be due to the nature of this world, and do your patriotic duty, whetever it is you can do to help, not hinder.
Enough said, "you are a war mongerling person".
