Pakistan official offers $100,000 reward for killing of maker of anti-Prophet Muhammad film

A file photo taken on May 19, 2011 shows Pakistani Federal Railways Minister Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour addressing the media in Amritsar.

A Pakistani government minister on Saturday announced a $100,000 bounty for the killing of the person who produced an online film that denigrates the Prophet Muhammad.

Federal Minister for Railways Ghulam Ahmed Bilour also asked the Taliban and al-Qaida to extend support to the would-be killer.

Speaking at a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club, the federal minister said whoever is responsible for blasphemy deserves death.

"The American who produced the sacrilegious film in the U.S. is also liable to death and we will shower dollars on the one who killed the blasphemer. If members of the banned militant organizations kill the maker of the blasphemous movie, they will also be rewarded," Bilour announced.

He called for legislation to have the anti-blasphemy law at the global level so that no one could hurt the religious emotions of the Muslims in the name of the freedom of expression.

He said the situation would remain tense until anti-blasphemy law was enacted at the world level.

Bilour condemned the work of the filmmaker, saying it distressed the Muslims across the world.  However, he also condemned the violence during the protests on Friday, which was declared a national holiday in honor of Muhammad, saying it could defame Muslims and their religion.

Bilour said the government had already announced that the police and other law-enforcers would give protesters the opportunity to peacefully condemn the filmmaker and would not crack down on them with batons.

Many Muslims denouncing anti-Islam film decry violent protests, too

At least 15 people were killed and shops and businesses were damaged on Friday during Muslim protests in Pakistan.

The film in question, produced in the U.S. and posted on the Internet under several titles including "Innocence of Muslims," portrays the prophet as a fraud, womanizer and child molester.

The U.S. Embassy in Pakistan has run television spots, one featuring Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, saying the government had nothing to do with the film.

Pakistan had declared Friday a "Day of Love" for the Prophet and Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf said an attack on Islam's founder was "an attack on the whole 1.5 billion Muslims."

Dozens of people, including the U.S. ambassador to Libya, have been killed this month in violence linked to the film, which also has renewed debate over freedom of expression in the U.S. and in Europe.

Protests continued in the Muslim world on Saturday. Scores of people were injured in clashes in Bangladesh's capital between police and hundreds of demonstrators. In Pakistan, more than 1,500 people, including women and children, rallied in the capital.

Thousands of people also protested Saturday in Nigeria's largest city, Kano. The crowd marched from a mosque to the palace of the Emir of Kano, the region's top spiritual leader for Muslims.

About 200 students in Srinagar, the main city in Indian-controlled Kashmir, chanted "Down with America" and "Long live Islam" in a peaceful protest. Some carried a placard that read, "There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger."

NBC's Mushtaq Yusufzai in Pakistan and The Associated Press and Reuters contributed to this story.

Do they realize that NOBODY thinks the movie even matters one bit and that they're just looking like spoiled children throwing a temper tantrum?

No, I guess not.

@sandtrich: That was a long, long time ago (and, yes, it was unforgiveable). Except for a few idiotic, nasty people like the "preacher" in Florida, you do not find true Christians acting like that today. Today we all are being held hostage by the hate-filled Muslim radicals who kill indiscriminately for any and all reasons they can come up with. And the "peaceful" (LOL) Muslims very rarely say or do anything against their evil brethren. I'm glad I'm old enough that I won't have to live in the rotten world they are bringing to America's doorstep. I do, however, grieve for my children and grandchildren and their future.

The US government should be demanding that this government minister be removed from his post and placed under arrest for conspiracy to commit murder. We should cut off all US aid to Pakistan until that happens. We should also have the FBI issue an arrest warrant for this government minister's arrest for conspiracy to commit murder and ask Interpol to issue a Red Notice for his arrest. If the Pakistanis are going to issue arrest warrants against American citizens for exercising their right of free speech then we should be countering with arrest warrants when their citizens make these threats that are against US and international law. We need to show them that two can play this game and that we take the rights and safety of our citizens seriously. If the Pakistani government fails to remove this government minister from his post it means that they are endorsing and condoning his actions. This is not something that the administration should allow to stand without a response showing our extreme displeasure with these actions.

@sandtrich, I refuse to let something that happened between 1000 and 800 years ago, at which time, btw, the ragheads killed an equal a mount of Christians and pagans in their own wars, give them reason for anything. They are 6th century uneducated fanatics living, if that's the word for how they exist, in the 21st century, and they have NO right telling anyone how to live. I could care less about ANY religion, but I respect the right of others to believe as they wish. That changes when any religion tries to remake others in their own image. Religion, as it exists now with Islam, has caused more death and hate than any other reason I could think of. I would not miss them at all if they were to disappear tomorrow.

Sandtrich,

Please read your history books before making uneducated comments. The Crusades were started by the Christian Church to stop the violent, animal-like, vile, evil invasion of Europe by muslims. It still amazes me that all of the world's unrest, senseless violence and murder is caused by people who believe in God. The virus known as islam is spreading and leaving nothing but death and destruction in its wake.

Seriously, you gonna bring up something that happened almost a 1000 years ago as a reason to influence today's policy of a country that was not going to exist for another 600 years after the Crusades? That is number one.

Number two: Crusaders did not even kill 1/3 of the population of the Middle East, much less "the world". Do you even know how big planet Earth is and what the Crusades were about?

...he also condemned the violence during the protests on Friday, which was declared a national holiday in honor of Muhammad, saying it could defame Muslims and their religion.

Don't worry. At this point, I don't think anything could further defame Islam.

... also has renewed debate over freedom of expression in the U.S. and in Europe.

And, in both places, the concept of "freedom of expression" is most often used to defend criticism of Israel.

SEVEN You are correct.. The Crusades were ordered to combat the violent tribes of Muslims who were committing incursion raids in an attempt to expand their religious/political territories.. They were also killing pilgrims journeying to Christian holy sites in the Middle East that were at that time mixed communities kind of like they do to this day..

This idiot calling for a hit on someone who although was not a good motion picture director had the facts of history correct.. This is a blatant attempt to create enough violence so they can sway weak leaders like Obama and the Europussys of France and England to attack our free speech.. These Islamic cult followers just have no clue what is involved here.. Free speech is the cornerstone of our American liberties and to challenge it may be the last mistake they ever make.. Islam as a whole should be labeled a hate group and a CULT and not have the standing/benefits as a religion in the USA..

The counter demonstration against the violence and killing of the Embassidor was probably paid for by Obama with taxpayer money.. Islam is just incompatible with the freedoms we have in the USA and the rest of the free world..

Edgewatervince how about we put a 1000 pound $200,000 JDAM on his head instead??

As for the "religion of hate", Christians killed 1/3 of the world's population during the Crusades.

There's always some ignorant liberal agnostic/atheist devoid of history when it comes to talking about Christian killers and the Crusades. And Sandtrich never fails to provide the example. Obviously liberals like him never learned about Constantinople and the Byzantine empire in high school (my guess is "cool" liberals like him smoked pot instead of studied).

First of all, the Christian religion grew up and out of the Dark Ages (when Islam was born...circa 7th Century). To quote Obama on his changing views of gay marriage, it "evolved." Secondly, the amount of the world's population when the Crusades were waging war was a fraction of just what today's Muslim population is. And third, the vast majority of ideology MURDERING has been done under Sandtrich's wonderful atheist/agnostic world through Communism... to the tune of an estimated 70 million...compared to the Crusades estimated 2 million.

Finally, we are talking about TODAY, not something that happened 1,300 years ago. If you look around TODAY, just about ALL of the hotspots on this planet originate from Muslim regions. And that's the painful truth. Ever notice how liberals like Sandtrich excuse radical Islam by pointing fingers at the Crusades? Pathetic, isn't it? Like Obama pointing fingers at Bush.

But since when do emotion-driven atheist/agnostic liberals like Sandtrich ever care about the truth?

sandtrich, Made up statistics don't make your point. In fact, the crusades resulted in between 1 and 3 million deaths which was about .3 to 2.3% of the world population. Nothing close to your proclaimed 33%. Look up a man named Timur who referred to himself as the "Sword of Islam." His military campaigns resulted in the death of 17 million people which was 5% of the population at that time. That was the past, how about the last 10 years? How many modern day murders can be attributed to Christianity? How many modern day murders can be attributed to Islam? Look at the news for today. How many deaths can be attributed to Christianity? How many deaths today in just Pakistan due to the mindless followers of Islam? At least six! Now shut the hell up!

If you want to think rationally, if you look at what the bible teaches , you would know that the Crusades was not a biblical event. There is nothing in the bible that condones killing of people who do not convert to Christianity. So I would say that none of them were Christians at all.

Also you can take all the religions in the world and compare how many has been killed by them and compare that to atheist Regimes that have been in power. The Atheistic Regimes have killed so many more people.

Lets see...

He condemned the violent protests and yet he offered a reward for murder...

He said until the whole world makes a law condemning blastphemy the "situation would remain tense" so he basically says until the whole world is governed by religious fanatics (hmm I wonder what religion he wants to rule the world) they will continue killing everyone.

So blastphemy is wrong but murder, well that just fine.

I would like to offer a reward for his murder but my gov't would probably come arrest me.

The author also said...

"Dozens of people, including the U.S. ambassador to Libya, have been killed this month in violence linked to the film, which also has renewed debate over freedom of expression in the U.S. and in Europe" Where is this debate? They seriously think we are gonna amend the constitution so islam doesnt get insulted?

We seriously need to take the religion of islams threats as seriously as they take our films, (which by the way is just a BS reason to kill americans), and retalliate with a vengence! we need to start burning their embassies to the ground and killing their ambassadors saying "until we are allowed to express ourselves freely we will continue to kill muslims".

Its almost enough to turn me into an anti-islam terrorist! Almost! Why arent we as Americans standing in front of our capital DEMANDING retribution?

Im so tired of my government doing nothing but financing more terrorists! I never hated a group of people so much in all my life. EVEN THE "PEACEFULL MUSLIMS" WONT DO ANYTHING TO STOP OR DETER THE VIOLENT ONES so kill them all and let alah the pedophile sort them out!

He is an enemy of the state, and yet this little tiny evil man is allowed to come into our country - WTF?????????

Ghulam Ahmed Bilour - Pakistani Federal Minister for Railways

By the power(77) vested in by GOD as His Christ(77), I hereby rule that 9/22/12 is your Judgment Day - you FAIL F.

Sentence: very bad luck for the rest of your life, then 666 years reincarnated as farm-raised turkeys.

You have the ability to repent, do community service, apologize in writing, and ask for forgiveness. It's possible that you'd be forgiven and this sentence reduced.

Can someone please explain to me why we give Pakistan money??? I don't get it.

And if Muslims can't take a little humor aimed towards them....they should try another religion like....I don't know, say Jehovah's Witness. I was raised one and the jokes, and teasing was relentless. But what I really hated was when we'd go door to door selling the magazines and we'd get doused with the garden hose on a regular basis. That was always pretty humbling.....and one of the main reason I got out of that religion as soon as I left home. It didn't take a genius to figure out most people don't like to be bothered on weekend mornings with religion knocking at their front door.

Conspiracy to commit murder is a punishable felony. Place a request for extradition, and if Pakistan does not respond, put the Pakistani Government on alert that they are conspiring with a felony act. The movie maker commited no crime acording to the law and nobody was injured or threatened in the making of the film. There are no blasphemy laws in America nor will there ever be. If you are offended by the movie, make one that is flattering, or ignore it. A $100,000 contract against a citizen of another country is an international felony and needs to be properly addressed. The Taliban refused to extradite Osama Bin Laden and they paid a price. The Pakistanis are the primary source of terrorism. The next war may need to address the real threat.

Why are we dealing with these temper-tantrum throwing, one sided, childish, stubborn, extremely extremist PIGS! ENOUGH ALREADY. The momentum from this has gone from silly to scary. Next thing you know they're going to try and bomb L.A. because that's where the supposed film-maker lives! Awesome. Whatever happened to "eye for an eye"? Why have so many people died (in vain) because A FILM WAS MADE! THAT'S IT, A FILM, YOU KNOW, THAT THINGY YOU MAKE WITH A CAMERA AND SOME PEOPLE AND STUFF? NO BODY DIED, NO ONE WAS BLOWN UP, NO ONE WAS EVEN SNEEZED UPON, BUT WHAT HAPPENS IN RETALIATION...DEATHS. MANY MANY UNNECESSARY, UNWARRANTED DEATHS. BEYOND RIDICULOUS.

Our President... Took an oath - to Preserve, Protect, and Defend the Constitution against ALL enemies, Foreign and Domestic. (That would be the very same document which guarantees our rights to freedom of expression and to express our thoughts and opinions, without fear of persecution or abuse by those who hold opposing viewpoints - this is fundamental to who we are not only as a nation, but as a culture.)

If he had ANY love for his country or this document (that would be the same document he swore to Preserve, Protect and Defend), he would stand up like a man.. like an American.. and very clearly explain to these animals that in the United States we have the right to express ourselves freely, and that because of his oath, he would take any steps necessary to fulfill that oath, and guarantee that right for every citizen of this country. At least that's what he promised he would do.

But instead, he has apologized. He has completely forgotten,,, nee forsaken what this country is all about, and the freedoms it should be protecting, and he has totally abandoned one of our dearest and most sacred principles - the freedom to express ourselves, no matter how unpopular that expression might be. We certainly don't KILL people over opposing viewpoints.

What on earth is he going to do when they finally begin to understand that all they have to do is voice an "offence" to our embracing the faith of our choosing, or our right to keep and bear arms, or our right to an attorney... or any of the other rights we hold dear. Keep apologizing?

Sadly, he has not only apologized for this, but even gone so far as to lie about this not being a pre-planned attack.

Dear God, Mitt Romney - won't you PLEASE get OFF YOUR ASS and start campaigning??? I know you're not much.. but you're the only hope we have right now.

Uneducated Sandtrich certainly lacks the intellect to read history, the Crusade was started after the savagery of those muslims invading Europe almost to Paris door steps, all along the way those babrbaric muslims raped the women after the males are killed, and forced conversion of non muslim to become muslim or death. Muslims and sandtrich are still seething over the defeat and the pushed back all the way to Jerusalem. Had the muslims not started and live peacefully with thy neighbord regardless of religion, the Crusade would never have started. Islam or muslim is not a peaceful religion, it's full of hatred savageries and barbaric action that is still embeded in 7th century. Read The Satanic Verses it tell what it is condemning a person due to disagreement of religion or to a muslim cleric is certainly animalistic and idiotic. Clerics may be a sholar in that religion only but certainly lacks the knowledge in other educated fileds.

Ok, I'm an atheist and I'm the first to criticize Christians for their hateful and arrogant attitudes and of course the fact that they believe in sky-wizards. Yes, in the name of "Christ" George W Bush invaded a Middle East country and killed thousands of Iraqis. Well, not so fast, according to Bush it was a Christian Crusade but in reality it was sanctioned by the US Congress which is a secular government body.

Muslims on the other hand will kill you for whatever reason they want as long as they are offended. Blaspheme their god and off with your head... fornicate without permission and you get stoned until you are dead... make women wear a tent or they die... if a man rapes a girl - she dies... I think that makes Islam incompatible with not only Christianity but also democracy and Western Civlization.

It is absurd, ugly, bigoted, stupid, arrogant, and just plain idiotic to suggest we turn the Middle East into glass as many have suggested. The main problem with this approach, aside from it being criminal, is that many common people in Middle Eastern countries aren't fundamentalists and aren't bloodthirsty. It is the religious leadership of these countries that needs to be eliminated. I think force may be justified to kill leaders that conspire to murder Americans.

In this case the man that sanctioned the hit on an American (no matter how despicable his "speech" may have been) should be prosecuted for conspiracy to commit murder and hiring a hit.

The rules have been pre established, Its OK to murder infidels, you can not kill a Muslim if you are not a Muslim, and if you are Muslim it is wrong to kill other Muslims unless you feel you should. it is forbidden for any foreign power to use nukes against Islamic nations until the Islam nation first uses nukes on you, and in the event you decide to retaliate the procedure must go as follows, first if you were attacked then you have first option to insult your attacker and call him by insulting names even call him the son of a whore, but then it will be his turn to return the insult, he may be allowed to call you the offspring of a swine and launch a second attack, at that point you may call him a filthy son of a whore and the descendant of camel f'ers, at which he may call you a case of Darwinism gone bad and launch a third wave, at that time you will be allowed to retaliate by flipping him the Bird and reflect your opinion that he is more disgusting then a fly, after which you can retaliate if you still have the means, if you do not follow the proper established protocol you will not get any virgins in heaven you will not get any little boys, what you will get is 28 worn out old French street walkers, two pigs and a mud hut. why would anyone want to fight Islam?

On Sandtrick and the crusades she/he has been on that kick for a year now! and thinks that the Christan's murdered 1/3 of the worlds population, not even taking into consideration who started the crusades to begin with, and the fact that the killing was done on both sides and massacres happened on both sides, and the major killer of the time was disease. and the fact that there were allot of crusades, Iran is still engaged in one today by their own admission its just that the rest of the world does not take them serious. and Obama will wait till they do a first strike, why not it gets more attention that way. allot more difficult to deal with but more potentialto be a hero. even if in the long run millions more will die. besides the world is over populated and the population needs a little thinning. the problem with war is that it has a tendency to stimulate the sex drive in people and even if a few million die 100 million will be borne, it backfires every time following a war there is always a baby boom. look up the population guide the highest population growth is in the areas with the highest death rate and war torn areas, go figure, its like some kind of recycling thing. the total opposite of nature. the world population has increased by over 4X in my life, 4X more and its standing room only.

On the Pakistani official we can cut off all their assistance today, and offer a million dollar reward for his carcass. or we can continue to run US government apologies on Pakistani TV. personally I think we should cut relations with them they are Rogues milking us for what they can get , they are the element that keeps Afghanistan in conflict in essence we support Pakistan to support the Taliban, I think the Taliban is a Pakistani organization more then it is Afghanistan. Pakistan is not the same country it was 12 years ago the government has changed and they are not our friend, its time to realize that, its past time to cut them off, and don't worry about their nukes just remind them what we can have setting ten minutes away from any target in Pakistan. worried about our troops well we can pull them out, if Karzai wants to survive he will find a way.

I guess it's time to start making a bunch of movies and web-comics and newspaper cartoons while our government apologies for an EGYPTIAN that put out a piss poor quality trailer of an old movie that was redubbed with bad acting and no lip-syncing whatsover.

I'm tired of the childishness of this religion, I'm tired of the attention our media pays to them, I'm tired of the fearful cowtowing that our fellow nations do to avoid offending Saudi Oil Barons. I want them gone. And for my own fellow Americans that think somehow these people are mistreated, I want them gone too. Sorry, but you haven't been keeping up with what goes on and you're deadset in your mindset that these murderers are just misunderstood innocents. And if any PEACEFUL ones exist, then may their God and ours save them; we'll ferret out the last good man of Gomorrah, no sweat. But this has gone way past the grain and something other than prostrating on our bellies MUST BE DONE! These are overgrown children who refuse to become adults, who refuse to come in line with the rest of the world, and who refuse to develop any sense of maturity or responsibility for themselves and what they do. No one is immune to being made fun of, NO ONE, and if they can't handle it better than murdering people who had nothing to do with the insult, murdering their own people who had nothing to do with it, and screaming for blood and more murder... well, they're nothing more than barbarian children that need to be put down before they set the world on fire with their hate and poison.

It's not wrong to kill evil. It's wrong to let evil run unchecked. These people that buy into this mentality as displayed here, that throw themselves whole-heartedly into it - they are evil and it's high time they were checked. Make an example of this guy and maybe, just maybe, more bloodshed can be completely avoided. But no, no, that would take an act of strength, resolve, and action. We'll not find that in the so-called "Civliized World", not unless it's preying on our own. As we've seen in this country, our political parties have no problem preying on each other, on the citizenry, on the elderly, and on the children. BOTH sides, before either of you rabid dogs jump on that opportunity to diss the other. You're both guilty and are no better than these pathetic zealots in your own zeal to be right, to win the argument, whether or not you ultimately lose the war of ideaology.

I mean after he did that the violence just stopped right? He knows more than us that if we dont do anything in retaliation for this bounty that they will just have a change of heart and say"im sorry"?

LETS GIVE THEM AN IDEA OF WHAT A HOLY WAR IS ALL ABOUT.LETS SEND THEM TO MEET ALAH SO THEY CAN ASK HIM IF WHAT THEY WERE DOING WAS IN HIS NAME OR A PERVERSION OF HIS WORD!!!!

Yes I am an American and this government is supposed to be FOR, OF, and BY the people and that gives me the right to ask my president to KILL THEM ALL! I dont live in a religiously controlled contry! I dont have to let my president do what he wants for fear of biblical "justice".

Do any of you notice that makes NO sense and makes you look like hypocrites?

Ram - in case you don't know, there is a vast difference between protecting one's self against threats of violence or murder, or a declaration of war on your own nation's sovereignty (from a culture with quite the proven track record, by the way)

    ...And unprovoked aggression.

I am deeply saddened that you cannot distinguish between the two. Self-defense by any means necessary is not the same as unprovoked aggression.

We did not draw the line in the sand here - the person who made the threats did. And I think General Norman Schwarzkopfr said it best: "If the enemy wants war we'll give'em all the war they can stand."

You must either be a victim of our public education system or simply haven't lived very long.

Did the Crusades and Inquisitions stop at just defending them selves against Muslims? Not even close. Once they (the Christians) tasted blood they got a thirst for it. 700 or even 2000 years is not a very very long time ago...maybe if you are 5 years old it is. Look at Vine poster who constantly call for nukes to be dropped on everyone they dislike. Half the posts here start with; they should just save the taxpayers money and put a 5 cent piece of lead in someone. All it would take is one word from the Pope and Christians would be acting just like Muslims.

All animals can turn violent once they see they can dominate another animal - yes, humans are animals. I had a cat who mostly stayed indoors, until we moved to a safer place (fewer coyotes) - after his first cat fight he completely changed, started bullying our other two cats, went looking for fights when he went outside - this is what happened to Christians (Catholics specifically).

Time didn't change Christians - others who learned to beat them back changed Christians.

        #1.82 - Sun Sep 23, 2012 1:39 AM EDT

@ the ones who mention the Crusades, yet again.

The Crusades started after an attack and invasion by Muslims, and after they had cut access to Jerusalem. The Byzantine Emperor asked the Christians for help, which they gave. Try cutting access to Mecca, see what happens.

And that was over a thousand years ago, enough already with this.

The countries known today as Muslim countries, were not Muslim to start with, they were invaded and conquered, their citizens forced to become Muslims.

But all this is in the past, would it be possible to focus on the present? What is the point of mentioning thousand years old wars again and again? You might as well mention the Mongols, and the Roman, Persian, and Ottoman Empires ... but this too is in the past.

A vast majority of Muslims are peaceful, regardless of what you may think of Muhammad. Clearly there is extremists and radicals who still have need to learn about tolerance and reacting peacefully to insults, as so many believers of other religions do right now. These extremists also need to start respecting all other religions, just as they wish to be respected. Most other religions get mocked and their prophets insulted as well, but they don't react with violence, they have learned that eventho respecting each other is the best option, you can't force someone to believe the same thing as you.

And a last word, this man, Minister Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, should be ashamed of himself. Asking others to murder someone, is the equivalent as being a murderer himself (which he is). Asking the help of Al Qaeda also makes him a terrorist. Shame Shame on him. Most Muslims do not condone this violence, and they have enough of Al Qaeda, they don't support them. Most Muslims are fed up with these radicals who, because of their violence, perpetuate the idea that all Muslims are violent. Thousands took parts in the recent protests, a few took part in the violent protests, but Millions did not, and as shown in the recent counter-protest in Libya, many peaceful Musims are are as fed up as we are with extremists.

A Pakistani government minister on Saturday announced a $100,000 bounty for the killing of the person who produced an online film that denigrates the Prophet Muhammad.

Idiot. How about putting a bounty on the Islamic extremists who continue to kill your OWN PEOPLE inside your OWN COUNTRY:

Good question, liverpool. It was a bad film, badly acted, bad techs - wtf?? Not an insult to that prophet whatever he was - but an insult to lovers of cinematic art skills everywhere. Just don't get it - these men getting crazed over some idea. Don't they have anything else to do - but to go out and shout nonsense??

Just got back from France where someone drew a naked prophet - and the same idiots are all incensed over that. Tell me - if no one is ever supposed to portray the "prophet" (refuse to type the name)...then how can they tell that a cartoon of a naked guy is the prophet guy?

But someone needs to tell the Muslim's that we don't give a crap about their laws. Especially in a country that is not their country. And that if they kill Americans, we will wipe their asses with their turbans. No matter what they think said American has done to offend them. They still kill wives and daughters who have been raped, because they believe the raped woman has brought shame to their families. Not the frickin rapist. They are ass-backward imbeciles, and we do not have to appease or obey them.

50% of the Muslims are illiterate. The other half barely knows how to do it, and a very small minority, mainly the Iranians, hold University degrees.

What do you expect? They are really not that hard to manipulate.

EDUCATION IS NON-EXISTENT, THANKS TO RELIGION.

IF THEY WOULD TRY TO LEARN HOW TO READ AND WRITE, AS MANY TIMES AS THEY PRAY, THEY WOULD ALREADY BE AHEAD OF CHINA.

WOULD BE NICE IF SOMEONE WOULD TELL THEM THAT THEY WILL GO TO HEAVEN IF THEY COULD LEARN TO WRITE AND READ.

Islam is nothing but hatred and violence. To think our lame president Obama is more concerned with appeasing Muslims then protecting freedom of speech. His apology tour failed. His apology advertisement running in Pakistan are an insult to all Americans. Islam teaches this behavior, they sanction it, and the world should condemn it. But not Obama, who has divided this country, why not the world.

Let's call this a pure, evil Terrorist Attack by the Islamists in Libya.

There is too much Propaganda in telling the stupid people in the Middle East/North Africa that it was the film, so murdering the Movie Maker, and all American people is justified.

Our Government must stay strong; the Extremists are controlling our own Government-- Extremists telling us what will happen?.

Where are the words, "NO" you will not. It would be a good idea to keep Nakoula in Prison for his own safety. It is another "Salman Rushdie" threat to scare us all.

Hillary must be at her wits ends with the barbarian's Leaders. Pres. Obama is handling this in a non-hysterical manner. Do not know if this is good or not. They need the picture of a "Sword". "An Eye for an Eye" would do well in these Cleric's countries. Any excuse for burning the American Flag and hatred of America. It will never change. "Death To America"; we have to take them seriously.

The violence and destruction (done by Muslims) has created more damage to the image of Islam, than that weak and insignificant film ever could!!!

I don't believe it matters if the guy is in another country or not, if he put out a contract on a US citizen he may can be arrested, if we can get our hands on him, and charge him with conspiracy to commit murder and if someone does kill the weenie for the reward, then this bozo would be subject to a capital murder charge. Doesn't matter where he is.

"Dozens of people, including the U.S. ambassador to Libya, have been killed this month in violence linked to the film."

This film is just being used as an excuse. The killings that have occurred are linked more directly to murderous nature of Islam. These government officials calling to the death of the film maker is another example of that.

"An attack on Islam's founder was "an attack on the whole 1.5 billion Muslims."

He's dead. If his writings cannot stand up to a few words spoken in a cheaply made film, then maybe he wasn't all that great in the first place. The actions of most Muslims seen around the world are of violence and murder. Almost always I hear from their leaders a call for death over one minor offense or another. Pokemon characters for years have evaded Muslim assassins - the calling for the death of a cartoon just shows the sophistication of these Muslim religious leaders. Seriously, anyone who enjoys freedom and who are a part of this Cult-like religion must at some point realize that freedom and Islam do not mix. You cannot enjoy one and support the other. One stands for life for all and the other stands for DEATH for all!

An official government spokesman for the Pakistani government has officially invited Al-Quaida to come to Pakistan and be their allies by including them in his statement. That is what makes this so serious. Even Iran has never done that. Pakistan has openly and publicly, made themselves an enemy of the state of the US. Now let's see how our government responds to this slap-in-the-face. This was an official statement given by an official agent of the government of Pakistan, remember. Which makes it an official declared government policy. Not just some Muslim fanatic spewing garbage.

I am seriously glad I was born in the USA and not some Muslim country. Who would want to live constantly under the threat of death for everything they do?

              - A 12 year old girl is raped... Give her death for fornication!

              - A daughter fights off the drunken advances of her father and kills him... Give her death for murder! If She's a virgin she must be raped to keep her out of heaven! Why not - had her father raped her she would have gotten death anyhow - see above!

              - A man shaves off his beard... Give him death!

              - A man drinks a beer... Give him death!

              - Girls at school leave their coverings inside a burning school when they escape from it... send them back in to get their coverings, oh and death because they never came back out again.

Yes, Islam is a must a loving, caring and sensible religion.

A proposed, "worldwide anti-blasphemy law" is unconstitutional, per the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. That's why I'm certain this proposed law would die under any vote in the UN Assembly. It likely violates no less than a quarter of the listed Articles in the Declaration.

The Middle East leaders publicly appealing to the zealots in their respective populations by demanding the creation of this global law, must be maliciously ignorant of basic human rights that their member countries agreed to, even in deference to their own nation's constitutions. But of course, a portion of these countries are willing to put the welfare of their citizenship in much lower priority than their adherence to the unprovable ideological demands of the God in their old religion, just as the Religious Right would also unwisely impose upon us all, in the U.S.

...By the way, has anyone here on the NewsVine even bothered reading this amazing piece of international legal work? (And as for you trolls, if you moronically denigrate this document or its intent, you do so at your own peril). This living document represents every signatory nation on this planet, and was inspired by, among other things, America's living U.S. Constitution as drafted up by your own nation's founding fathers and the wisdom of those that followed their renaissance of enlightened human ideals).

I kinda agree with 99Octane. Yesterday, I went to the VAMC. The nurse asked me if I had thoughts of hurting or killing myself, or anyone else. My response was yes, I do. She asked who? My response was, 'Kill 'em all, let God sort em out!'. She didn't know exactly how to handle that. I had a good attitude then, but it hasn't improved, after being poked and prodded, which is pretty normal there. Then I read about that bounty, and it reminds me of what John Pershing ordered his men to do to some Muslims in the Philippines. So, I have a much better attitude now. If Bozo Bilour wants to conspire to commit murder of law abiding citizens on American soil, first thing I want to do is send B-52's, you know, HUFF's, and blanket bomb his country into oblivion with Pig Oil bombs, then come back and rearm with nukes, go back, nuke em til they glow, and use their asses for runway lights, survivors are to be persecuted into extinction. This has been a big boost for my attitude problem!

Browsing through the responses....almost each and every one here is defending the wrong. This stupid dude should have kept the movie within the US...where the constitutional right to free speech is understood, but he didn't. He made sure it is seen in Muslim countries. In my opinion it's only fair that he now deals with the consequences and hope other idiots will get the drift, think twice and not start a stink of such magnitude.

So tired of our State Department apologizing for this film If our president apologizes to Muslims one more time, I think I might just vomit. Coincidence that our commander in chief was educated in a Muslim school in Indonesia and he just happens to be a sympathizer? Well, I think not. Sadly, so many will still vote for him despite these facts.

I would not give a rats behind if he was a Muslim if he did pose such a threat to our national security. He continues to cut our military while increasing $$$ to country's that hate America and will continue to hate us. Not because we hate their religion (we could really care less who they pray to). But, because we treat people with dignity and humanity, but most of all with common sense. Yes, we may have gays, porn, and a lot of other things that may seem unattractive, but at least we don't stone young girls for being raped and dishonoring their families. We don't cut teenagers heads off for congregating in one place together. We don't cut noses and ears off for giving in-laws (that they never chose) a bad look.

The difference is, we here in the US does not care what religion they are. We just happen to be evolved enough to realize their ways are barbaric. This is their concern. If we do not role the clock back a few thousand years, then their people will continue to stop drinking their Kool Aid (the more they are subjected to our culture). They have only one desire...to force their religion on the rest of the world. Well, I have seen the ways of their "peaceful" religion and NO THANK YOU!!!

Henceforth and forever-more, any thing that imitates what someone thinks that the Mighty Mo might look like (as in, how the hell do these fools have any idea what he looked like?)

Prior to the carton or article's caption and/or punch line, if any, just write in big bold letters.

"A false prophet" since, obviously, a caricature, drawing cannot be a true prophet, this statement would immediately identify the drawing as not being 'him!'

If there are world-wide anti-blasphemy laws, then they would have to encompass all religions so that no one can denigrate any religion. Muslims have done more to desecrate the holy sites of other religions and will have to live by the same anti-blasphemy laws they want everyone else to live by.

Logic, knowledge, understanding & tolerance is lost on a world stuck in the past. The only thing they understand is the edge of a blade, lead from a gun, or the blast from an explosion.

Even Obama short sited mind had to admit it is just a terroist organization behind it. I wish Hillary would just move to the middle East since she loves them so much and find out what they do to women.

The fool who made the "movie" has the right to make that movie just like the the guys who made "The last temptation of christ". Because he is a US citizen who filmed the movie in the US - he is covered by US law. Who care's if someone in Pakistan went onto Youtube and watched it? That is the Pakistani's fault. I don't watch crap I don't believe in. Who care's if it violates Pakistani law? The act wasn't committed in Pakistan. If they want to play that game - let's impose US law on these savages.

The US has to play a political game with Pakistan. (remember - Afghanistan has oil fields and the pipeline has to go through Pakistan. Otherwise the Chinese get it.) I would send money to India - Pakistan's enemy. Instead of money to Pakistan -because we are a good nation - I would send food vouchers for KFC and other fine american restaurants. No fungible money that can be used to sponsor terrorism.

If Pakistan wants a global anti-blasphemy law - I want an entry that any derogatory reference or attack on judaism or christianity or any of the other major belief systems in the world is also blasphemy. (Muslims will have a hard time NOT violating this law.) Say - a fine, limit of financial and medical aid, possible military action, limit on voting priviliges in the UN ... I say bring it on. I think smart Muslims will understand that they are digging their own grave. Seriously - a bunch on undereducated hicks that are indoctrinated in a violent religion should never be allowed at the table for serious discussions. They should be sent to the corner until they learn to behave like civilized people or they should be spanked with a couple of missiles that decimates the infrastructure and high-target civilian locations. Hey- it will take them a couple of years to breed more replacements. Look at Japan - we threw two H-bombs on them. I think we need to re-visit our nuclear policy and make sure the "leaders" of these muslim countries understand that actions have consequences.

Folks I hate to point it out to you but blasphemy used to be a death penalty offense in christianity too. Many christians believe that drinking alcohol is a sin. Some think that coffee and soda is. Some believe that cutting the beard is. As do some jews. Some believe in special ways of dress for woman. Some believe in special ways of dress for both sexes. Some believe cutting your hair is a sin. Some believe that having a phone in the house is wrong but you can have one in a outhouse like shed at the edge of the property. Some believe in special underwear, Mitt and Ann Romney do. Some people believe that eating pork and shellfish is forbidden. Some believe that having home electricity is a sin. Some believe that god wants you to remove some skin from your penis. Some believe that you have to handle poisonous snakes. Crazy in Religion is not a Muslim only activity.

I'll go along with nuking the entire country of Pakistan but there needs to be some way to get the innocent children (girls primarily) out of the country first. It seems primarily it is the males who are the instigators and participatants in the rioting.

Muslims want to rule the world with fear. We need an strong president that speak for us and defend our rights, no more apologies for films, pictures, cartoons or whatever we can use to express our free speech. No Muslim , no country in the world can condemn attach our rights , even if they consider offensive. Mohammad is not God he was a simple Prophet , a human, a sinner, a man that marry a 13 years old virgin a man that lead an army to kill infidels, Mohammad has blood in his hands.

This "sentence" is clearly illegal under US law, and if it is carried out on US soil, it's highly likely that the assassin will be apprehended tried and sentenced under our laws.

That said, I don't know that I'd lose to much sleep if the attempt were successful. The makers of this film have shown what I would characterize as a criminal disregard for the lives of Americans living in the area. The response that the movie has generated is outrageous, but it was entirely predictable, and to my mind the producers of the film are partially responsible for the deaths that have resulted, in the same way somebody who yelled "fire" in a crowded movie theater would be. The right to free speech is not absolute, but I doubt the cowards who made the movie (they were safely far away from the part of the world where the chaos would result) will ever face any other form of justice for what they have caused They made the movie to inflame this kind of response, and now are hiding under the skirts of the first amendment while others die. Good men and women have died, but they got their little childish dig in at Islam.

I'm curious how many of the people decrying the response of isolated groups of Muslim extremists were the same people screaming for the heads of any American who burned our flag in protest twenty years ago when that was a fundamental conservative cause.

Muslims are not the exception, like any religious group they must respect our rights. How many times Christians were offended with movies, cartoons , pictures and nobody died. What is different from those peoples that express their freedom of speech, are not equally offenders.

Hey, I have an idea, since the government led by Netanyahu has killed more than 2400 Muslims in 2006 alone, lets start talking about his murdering ways instead of talking about the few who have been killed as a result of the idiotic video.True, he didn't kill Americans in those attacks, but a human life is the same, no matter what nationality. Our constitution does say, "all men are created equal", does it not? Maybe that Zionist creep should blow himself up, for the 2400 lives (mostly women and children) he took in Gaza and Lebanon. Those cluster bombs are really effective killers and so is white phosphorus.

Hell, Bush and Cheney took over 100,000 Iraqi lives, using false pretences. It turned out there were no mobile biological weapons labs. The trailers were for filling weather balloons and the Niger documents were forgeries. I guess the joke is on those 100,000 dead Muslims. Oh well!

There was a credible post yesterday, which implied our government or a government contractor was somehow involved with the video. He implied we may have wanted an excuse to rile up Americans against Muslims, somewhat like what happened after 9/11 which wa a false flag attack.

We don't need this kind of stupidity here in the USA. It shocks me that people in the USA actually convert to Islam. Here, read this and tell me if you'd like to see this sort of ignorance come to America?

Saudi Arabia's religious police are reported to
have forced schoolgirls back into a blazing building because they
were not wearing Islamic headscarves and black robes.
Saudi newspapers said scuffles broke out between
firemen and members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue
and Prevention of Vice who tried to keep the girls inside a burning
              school in Mecca.
Fifteen girls were killed as they stampeded to escape
from the blazing building in the Muslim holy city. Saudi media and
families of the victims have been angry over the deaths of the girls
in the fire that gutted the school.
The resulting public criticism of the religious police,
              or mutaween, is highly unusual.
              The English-language Saudi Gazette, in a front-page
report yesterday quoted witnesses as saying that members of the
religious police stopped men who tried to help the girls escape from
the building, saying: "It is sinful to approach them."
A civil defence officer told an Arabic-language
newspaper, al-Eqtisadiah, that he saw three members of the religious
police "beating young girls to prevent them from leaving the
school because they were not wearing the abaya".
He added: "We told them that the situation was
very critical and did not allow for such behaviour. But they shouted
at us and refused to move away from the gates."
The father of one of the dead girls alleged that the
school watchman refused to open the gate to let the girls out.
"Lives could have been saved had they not been
stopped by members of the Commission for Promotion of Virtue and
Prevention of Vice," the Saudi Gazette said.
The much-feared mutaween roam the streets of the
conservative kingdom wielding sticks to enforce dress codes and sex
segregation and to ensure that Islamic prayers are performed on
              time.
Those who refuse to obey the orders of the religious
police are usually beaten and sometimes jailed.

15 girls died because these guys feared the sight of them fleeing for their lives out of a burning building would give all the men hard-ons so they sent them back in to get their scaves and black coverings!

This religion isn't a religion - ITS A FREAKING SICKNESS!!! Give me a freaking break!

There are so many references to the ignorance and stupidity of Arab people on this site. It takes a mighty amount of ignorance and stupidity to make such generalizations! Again, as I have said before, it is no wonder that other countries hate us! Please, please, keep your ignorance to yourselves. They are people, just as we are. We were not born in their country, into their religion, merely by chance. A blink of God's eye, and you may have been born in the United Arab Emerates somewhere. If you have not studied the Muslim religion in full, you don't understand it, so zip it! We have people in our country to who take parts of our Bible and get CRAZY on it and do bad things to good people. This has happened throughout history, all over the world and contributed to the annihilation and/or attempted genocide of other cultures.

What's really going on here is an element of zealots taking things too far, just like some that we have here. If you don't think the ones we have here can cause great damage, you're in denial. Please, use your brains instead of your emotions, guys!

And to the 'guys' making the stupid movie, 'grow up'! Free speech is integral and built in to our Constitution for a reason. Use it wisely, for-crying-out-loud. What have you achieved by this act? Anything positive?

If Allah has no problem with the person(s) who did this, then Allah will decide that, too. It is not your place to second-guess Allah, it is your place to bow your head, watch what Allah does, and learn from that.

@Kathryne - hey, these are government officials talking to the rest of the world from the Middle East. I'm not seeing many people of other religions going out and murdering people or doing violence on each other over a stupid cheap azz movie. I mean, the Pope didn't issue a reward for Tom Hanks to be slaughtered after his movies and those were high-end movies watched by billions around the world. And I do realize there are many rational people in the Middle East who are under the thumb of zealots. Those people need to know how ridiculous their leaders are and how crazy they are for listening to them and following them to commit murder and worse. If gods do exist and Allah is real, do you really think he is going to reward someone for committing suicide and murder of innocent people with 72 virgins? I believe for those people, the lower pits of Hell await them instead. I've read The Qur'an, The Torah, The Bible, The Bhagavad Gita, The Dhammapada and the Tao Te Ching. I've lived in the USA, Asia and the Middle East, so don't give me this crap about uneducated people. I wasn't visiting, I lived in all these places a few years at least, living among the people and not isolated in some compound.

Hey, I have an idea, since the government led by Netanyahu has killed more than 2400 Muslims in 2006 alone,

Crap, I say if he's so good at killing them then we hire him and his guys to go after all these troublemakers.

Forces set in motion more than three decades ago by President Jimmy Carter’s CIA will force the United States out of much of the Middle East and North Africa. “The West has once again empowered fundamentalist forces that will inevitably turn against Washington, the Greatest Infidel of all.” The U.S. cannot possibly control the jihadis it has armed and unleashed upon the world.

The Mother of All Blowbacks is Coming

A Black Agenda Radio commentary by Glen Ford

The United States and its allies have set the stage for the Mother of All Blowbacks: a long period of convulsions in the Muslim and Arab world that will ultimately lead to America’s expulsion from much of the region. The reason it is so easy to read the handwriting on the wall, is that we have been watching the scenario unfold for three decades, ever since the last years of the Jimmy Carter administration, when the United States, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan spent billions to create a worldwide Muslim jihadi army and unleashed it on the Soviets and their allies in Afghanistan, plunging that country into endless war.

When these Muslim warriors turned on the United States – or, depending on your vantage point, when the United States turned on them – we experienced the first blowback. The American public, shocked and traumatized, gave first, a Republican, and then a Democratic president all the guns and money and extra-Constitutional powers they demanded to push back against the Muslims who had not long ago been U.S. allies. The war planners in Washington figured they could live with the way events had turned out. After all, al-Qaida and its Salafist brethren were in no position to challenge U.S. dominance in the world – not anyplace that really counted – and their mere existence provided the U.S. war machine with a purpose in life, an excuse to subvert and wage low-level war against those nations that refused to tow the U.S. line.

And then came the so-called Arab Spring, and with it the terrifying prospect that Muslims in North Africa and the Middle East might take control of their own destinies – and the oil and natural gas that goes with it. Democracy means death to U.S. imperialism. Pew Research pollsters report that, on average, only 15 percent of Egyptians, Jordanians, Lebanese, Pakistanis and Turks have a favorable view of the United States. That’s down from 25 percent in 2009, when Barack Obama came into office. If the Arab and Muslim “street” came to power, the United States would be run out of that whole section of the planet – and Washington knows it.

When Tunisia and Egypt erupted, the U.S. and Europe played the only cards they had: they brought in massive air power and called out the jihadi dogs of war in an unprovoked attack on Libya. Almost simultaneously, the Euro-Americans and the royal criminals of the Persian Gulf armed and financed a jihadi assault against Syria, as Washington and Israel stepped up their low-level war against Iran.

As Temple University’s professor Tony Monteiro has pointed out, the whole rationale for the U.S. war on terror is a lie – the facts turned backwards. Washington claims it is engaged in a long, twilight war against non-state actors, terrorists, who seek to subvert and overthrow existing governments. In reality, it is the Americans who deploy non-state, jihadi actors to overthrow governments that Washington doesn’t like. However, in doing so, the West has once again empowered fundamentalist forces that will inevitably turn against Washington, the Greatest Infidel of all. Last week’s protests are only a small foretaste of what is to come: a blowback of such intensity that the foundations of Empire will crack, and crumble.

ISLAM IS NOT A PEACEFUL RELIGION! I wish democrats would get that through their heads.

Afterall, liberals in the US think that christians are the enemy...... I wish you all could see how you really behave.

So tell me, how many christians blew up the embassies, this week?

Only a democrat would be outraged at this, but still have the nerve to tear christians down. Incidentally, when artists wanted to portray christ in package of urine for an art show, you never heard christians tell them to kill the artist.........

The silly Muslims who THINK they're getting some worldwide law are as nuts as those who murder their own in the name of their religion. How do the silly bozos think they'd enforce it? Let 'em try, as we do still have plenty of ICBM's and sub-launched missiles capable of taking care of ANY Muslim uprising that they want to happen. And the first one would be aimed right in the middle of Mecca. Let 'em face that fireball and nuclear contamination to pray after that.

Islam in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and many other countries is totally out of control. The Pakistani "official" should be punished for offering a 100k reward for the killing a film producer. The "Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice" in Saudi Arabia [the religious police] is another example of out of control religious insanity supported by government................

These "Muslim" countries better change their ways and get their people under control or they may just find themselves at war with the entire civilized world and the outcome of a conflict like that would be the total destruction of what they call "The Muslim World".

Civilization can no longer afford to tolerate this barbaric religious behavior. If they don't change their ways soon then we better start preparing ourselves for a religious war of THEIR making.

I logged on here late last night, and like Scott-E83, saw that MSN had pulled a file picture of that Minister of Transportation photo with some Sikhs. When I logged back on this morning, I saw that MSN had changed the picture--I'm glad that somebody at MSN finally WOKE UP! Sikhs are NOT Muslim, in fact, one of their 10 gurus (Guru Arjan) was martyred in 1606. He was executed for refusing to convert to Islam. He was not the only one--Guru Tegh Bahadur, his son Guru Gobind Singh, and Gobind Singh's 4 sons were all either executed or died in battle against the Mughal Empire, which was Muslim. MSN, you need to THINK before you just pull any old picture from your files!

You people defending this murderous perversion of faith should go to the Islamic sh*t hole of your choice and join the nearest terror cell. That way, when the predators come knocking we can eliminate you traitorous sympathizers with the same missile. Two turds with one stone, as it were.

You defend the brainwashing and torture of children, the execution of women for the slightest infraction, and the stone age system that makes it possible. We see the institutionalization of the same sort of madness as Hitler practiced. Congratulations, how very left of all of you. What sort of Prophet teaches such things? A FALSE one.

And there y'all go shouting out fire and brimstone like the hardcore fundamentalist preachers I had to listen to as a child and chose to listen to (like an idiot) as a young adult. I am a Rep/Ind, not a Dem. All I am saying is calm down and think with your brains instead of with your emotions. Fundamentalist 'anything' usually means "my way or the highway", whether it be them or us. Yes, our Christians did bomb a building!!! It was called the "Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building"! That was Christrian fundamentalism at its worst in this country! You've heard of DOMESTIC TERRORISM??? It was also Christians who moved to this country in the first place who tried to displace and commit genocide on the indigenous people of this country. People are people, not all the Arab people support what is going on with the zealots they are contending with in their country. But, it is each individuals choice to continue the hateful rhetoric. So, continue on, one way or the other...

                            Peace!!! Out!!!

You expected anything less from a zealot for a religion invented by a violent 7th century bigoted adulterous misogynist bigamist pedophile child rapist??? His bounty for murder is just one of several now while other Muslim zealots clamor for patience until they finally impose universal Sharia law on the entire planet and deal death sentences to any and every infidel blasphemer they can get their hands on. Their master plan for their master religion and ideology is to turn the entire planet into a Taliban-like al-Qaeda-like Afghanistan where they can run everthing like a despotic Islamic Emirate and subjegate the rest of the world to their demented and satanic religious ideologies. And now they want the UN to enact and enforce universal Islamic blasphemy laws to enforce international judicially imposed death for anyone who blasphemes their satanic prophet or their riotous misogynist murderous raping violent rampaging religion??? Just how much of this does the rest of the world intend on accepting from these psychopaths until it finally sees the need to totally eradicate it and its ideology the same way and for the same reasons it eradicated Naziism???

Muslims have become what christians were not to long ago. Convert or die. Obey or die. Perhaps in a hundred years or so they will be like christians are today.

Simon Rusty (real name Simon Rusty) was born in Manchester just a stone's throw away from a pile of unwanted stones. From an early age Simon always wanted to be older, and at the age of 25 his dreams became reality.
After reading an old German manuscript on glass blowing, Simon decided to take up poetry, somthing his conjoined twin, Henry, has always been on his back about.
His early influences were Pam Ayres, Captain Scarlet and Genghis Khan. Although little known in his own country, his poetry is very popular in Zimbabwe. Only recently President Mugabe awarded Simon a medal for his "rhymes against humanity." His poems have made a great impact with many of today's celebrities. In fact, his poetry is said to be the main contributing factor to the state of Paul Gascoigne at the moment.
When not writing poetry Simon likes to relax by stretching and yawning.
"The Satiric Verses" is Simon's fourth book of a two book trilogy entitled "innumerates count too." His other book "The Joy of Sex, Scratch and Sniff Version" is currently available in pop-up and hardback

Sir Ahmed Salman Rushdie (Hindi: अहमद सलमान रुशदी (Devanagari), احمد سلمان رشدی (Nastaʿlīq); /sælˈmɑːn ˈrʊʃdi/;[2] born 19 June 1947) is a British Indian novelist and essayist. His second novel, Midnight's Children (1981), won the Booker Prize in 1981. Much of his fiction is set on the Indian subcontinent. He is said to combine magical realism with historical fiction; his work is concerned with the many connections, disruptions and migrations between East and West.

His fourth novel, The Satanic Verses (1988), was the centre of a major controversy, provoking protests from Muslims in several countries, some violent. Death threats were made against him, including a fatwā issued by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the Supreme Leader of Iran, on 14 February 1989.

Iran foundation boosts reward for death of Salman Rushdie

                                Sun Sep 16 2012

DUBAI—An Iranian religious foundation has increased its reward for the killing of British author Salman Rushdie, in response to a U.S.-made film that mocks the Prophet Muhammad, sparking protests across the Muslim world.

Rushdie, an Indian-born British novelist who has nothing to do with the film, was condemned to death in 1989 by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, Iran’s late leader, over his novel The Satanic Verses, saying its depiction of the Prophet Muhammad was blasphemous.

Khomeini’s fatwa was condemned in the West as incitement to murder and an assault on freedom of speech, but a wealthy Iranian religious organization has offered a large reward to anyone carrying it out and decided to increase the bounty amid the uproar over the online film.

“I am adding another $500,000 to the reward for killing Salman Rushdie, and anyone who carries out this sentence will receive the whole amount immediately,” said Hassan Sanei, the foundation’s head, in a statement carried by the Iranian Students’ News Agency.

The reward offered by the state-linked foundation now stands at $3.3 million, ISNA reported.

I guess Heinrich von Dorf switched names of the different authors. Funny coincidence however is that Rushdie wrote: Satanic Verses. And Rusty wrote: Satiric Verses.

Or any other country whose government officials come out with such, can I even call it a "stupid" statement? I say, stop the Aide, spend the money on our military and educating U.S. citizens, bring all of our troops home, send them to protect our borders (like shoot anyone trying to cross illegally), blast anyone to thier respective makers when they (representative of their government) target Americans for violence.

We support them because they have all the land route to Afganistain which is how we get upplies there.

But I'm wondering what makes your violence any different from theirs?

This is just one more confirmation that these people are absolutely barking mad. In fact, the world has gone barking mad...We throw money at governments who hate us, they kill anyone who disagrees with Islam and the rest of us are in the middle of this insanity....Everyone and I mean EVERYONE needs to slow down, cool off and THINK before acting. Maybe someone will see the lunacy and stop it in a moment of clarity....

We also support them since they posses nuclear weapons as well. Actually the Pakistani Government "I use that term loosely" is just as afraid of its radical elements as we are or even more so. The sad thing is if Pakistan's government would be overthrown what you would get there would be a whole lot worse than it is now. Arab spring is an euphemism for overthrowing ones own dictator and then the radical Muslims and their clerics come out of the wood work trying to fill the power vacuum.

Ive not seen this so called video, and I havent seen our president stand up and say, if you put a bounty on an american, we will but a bounty on you just like we did with saddam and bin laden. these 2 have killed more muslims than anyone in the middle east.

but here is what gets me, the muslims here in the US cant stand us, they want us all dead. but for some odd reason they stay in AMERICA, where they take US citizens jobs because they dont care to work for nothing. but they want to stay here.... why is that? if America is so bad why would you want to stay here? but let me tell you the reason they want to stay here. they want to stay here because they are allowed to pray to a god and not get their head cut off....

If this country is so bad, then is very very simple. GO BACK TO WHERE YOUR COME FROM and you live the life you want over there.

This guy needs to be tossed out of the government on his ear as an example to others not to insight murder . If not we know exactly what Pakistan is all about (as if we didn't already but this will be definitive proof) .

BP, I was thinking the same thing about the hypocrisy of that quote.

And if a universal law against Islam is too extreme, we could at least achieve the banning of many of the barbaric practices. I'd be willing to make a concession towards the offending religions thing (maybe no extreme, graphic offenses) if we could say, add in a "no separate laws or expectations for women, only pure equal rights" and then see how much they like having policy dictated to them.

The people who made this film and paid for it knew exactly what the were doing and why. In my opinion it was a deliberate attempt to stir up further Hatred and division. May be they want us in war and wouldn't care if all our ambassadors were killed. No matter how absurd the reaction may be, that is no excuse for not identify those behind the film and their motives.

Yelling fire in a theater is nothing compared to this action. Some 49 people were hired, then editing and dubbing in Arabic. Everything was carefully and deliberately done to create trouble between us and Muslims. I believe that even moderate Muslin as well as intelligent Christians would want to know the entire plot and motive of this movie. It wasn't to make money, it wasn't for fun and they may have got exactly what they wanted.

There are too many people involved here in a concerted effort to create chaos and dissension. They don't give a damn who dies. I Believe the more the better for the pigs that that stirred this up. What will they do next? We have an obligation to everyone to expose these people and there motives. Who in their right mind is going to believe that those high in our government believe this was just a mistaken miss-use of free speech. We speak so much of fairness, openness and being reasonable. Well, let's see some of that or quit talking.

The entire project and the Arab dub ins cost a fairly good sum. Who and why would anyone pay for and promote these deliberate insults. I think we have a right and good reason to know.Much of the middle east is already fed up with our involvement in their countries. These film makers damn well knew that and tried to fan as much fire as possible. Let's put some light on our own radicals before we try to straiten out Islam.

This film is not the reason for these attacks, it's just the current excuse. Anti-muslim statementns writings etc.. have been going on for as long as there has been muslims. Sick of hearing about this particular film being the cause of all this violence!!!!!

We have this funny little thing in this country called freedom. The filmakers excercised rights that I personally don't want see taken away. WE can NOT allow mad men to dictate to us about what we say, and we CAN NOT allow them to put bounties on peoples heads over an insult. This prophet was a killer, and a straight up disgusting pedophile. Nobody has a right to squash my freedom to say so!!!

The reward money for Simon Rusty is $3.6 million.

This $100k reward is peanuts in comparison when you consider there are more rages and outburst of demonstrations by muslins all over the islamic nations.

That's because he and his buddies have stolen all the rest of their money. They can't afford any more.

We don't dare say the name of Jesus, pray at a public event, have a Bible study in our home, sing a Christmas carol at school or any of a ton of other "offenses" for fear of the Separation of Church and State Police. Or will it just be applicable for any Muslim who comes up with even the slightest sense of insult? I hope you'll enjoy the loss of one of our great freedoms here in the USA.

                                        Spot on David !!

Islam is one of the last bastions of stone age mentality. Unfortunately, that accounts for 25% of the world! I wasn't even aware of the UN blasphemy laws that the Organization of the Islamic Conference is seeking. That's the equivalent of crumpling up the 1st Amendment - not gonna happen. I'll fight and die for that one.

You are correct - bring back King Richard and let's take care of this properly.

They want our Western luxuries and innovations and more importantly, they want to live in our cities; but they don't want to play by our rules. Well - GTFO then!!

I've always been able to take a step back from this type of thing and have tried to see that this mentality was held by a small minority, and was not representative of greater Islam, but with a Pakistani government minister offering a bounty, my position has been undermined to the point that it is no longer tenable.

While I'm repulsed by much of the jingoistic drivel which comes from right wingers and rednecks in the US, neither can I condone this sort of behavior or thinking. The idea that the simple expression of a differing opinion justifies violence, up to and including assassination for hire, is an idea that's simply anachronistic and incongruous with the modern world.

The problem with external criticism is that constructive change can only come from within, otherwise, it would simply be viewed as yet another example of foreign oppression. In the meantime, I see no reason to allow this 'culture' to continue to contaminate our shores and fester here to threaten us at some future date. It may be necessary to quarantine the virus until a cure can be found. Any (rational) suggestions?

All polls show that Americans think that Atheists fall further in the morality scale than murderers, rapists, thieves, and child molesters. Freedom of speech is not meant to defend any one opinion, simply the ability to freely express what ever the hell you want. Christianity has more than it's say, after all even the ones of us that are nonbelievers have our children forced to say In God We Trust or "One nation under God." I'm tired of Christians acting like their victims. Christianity is no better than Islam. You both are attempting to convert the world into your fairy tale.

The quarantine option would require 'irrational' suggestions since the virus is pandemic. Because there is a significant internal Hatfield-McCoy divisiveness, I had always hoped for a solution via attrition. But the civilized world keeps stepping in to stop this natural selection process. Social Darwinism should be allowed to happen. While I'm not advocating gas chambers, the civilized world should reconsider obstruction of the genocidal tendencies within the uncivilized world. I know that sounds wrong, but it is the best answer I have for your very good question.

Tolerance is it such a hard definition to incorporate into our lives people or should be spend countless dollars and human lives to prove a point?

At what lengths are you willing to go to eliminate God from your world? Then ask yourself is it worth it?

Taximomma, when was the last time you had your home raided by the police for holding a Bible study there? Methinks you have a persecution complex. It seems some Christians feel they are correct in their beliefs only if they feel that someone is picking on them for those beliefs. In reality, most people have a 'live and let live' mentality, and harbor no animosity towards Christianity at all. Most people really don't care one way or the other about your beliefs, and I think that is actually what is bothering you.

Taximomma, what are you talking about?!? My kids sing Christmas carols at their school play (public school) and you are free to hold a bible study in your home. You can say the name of Jesus until you are blue in the face. Do you even know what the separation of church and state means?

In 1797, the United States Senate ratified a treaty with Tripoli that stated in Article 11:

As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen; and, as the said States never entered into any war, or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties, that no pretext arising from religious opinions, shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.[16]

According to Frank Lambert, Professor of History at Purdue University, the assurances in Article 11 were "intended to allay the fears of the Muslim state by insisting that religion would not govern how the treaty was interpreted and enforced. President John Adams and the Senate made clear that the pact was between two sovereign states, not between two religious powers."[17]

This treaty, which was ratified by the Senate, confirms that the government of the United States was specifically intended to be religiously neutral.[18] The treaty was submitted by President Adams and unanimously ratified by the Senate.

JSworld13, since that 1797 treaty with "Tripoli", how many times has the ruling government changed hands? That brings up a reasonable question. What happens to a treaty, when that place no longer exists. How would it have conveyed to the Libya of today, which I presume is what you are alluding to?

Was that same 1797 government of Tripoli anything like the Islamic terrorists of Libya today? Would that treaty have covered terrorists activity of the kind we see today?

                                          Just asking.

And that was in 1797 and the treaty still stands with Libya. The US and Libya go back a very long way in these very issues we're dealing with today in other countries.Methinks that may be one of the reasons for the protests against the fundamentalists in Libya, they do not forget what we stand for.

@ Jeff Chicago...Jeff Chicago said; "Sorry no current Christians have a bounty out on a MUSLIM so go Christians !" Hmmmm... Sure you don't want to reconsider that Jeff ?

Here's part of an OFFICIAL June, 2012 US State Department press release:

The US state department has placed seven top leaders of the Somalia-based al-Shabab armed group on its wanted list for the first time, offering up to $33m for tip-offs to aid the hunt for the men.

A $7m bounty was placed on al-Shabab founder Ahmed Abdi aw-Mohamed and a further $5m was offered for other members - Ibrahim Haji Jama, Fuad Mohamed Khalaf, Bashir Mohamed Mahamoud and Mukhtar Robow. Up to $3m was offered for two other leaders, Zakariya Ismail Ahmed Hersi and Abdullahi Yare.

This is an OFFICIAL U.S. government policy, not just one nutty mid level official...Not that these bounties aren't justified...Just sayin'

The United States of America is home to 4.52% of the earth's population.

There are about 1.57 billion Muslims in the world. That represents about 23 percent of the total global population of 6.8 billion.

Muslim Population is increasing at 1.84% per year.

                                              The USA .96% for 2011.

I think "overreaction" describes most of the comments posted here. Far too much attention being given to a middle level Pakistani bureaucrat. Additionally, the "bounty" issued by this Harry Dean Stanton look-alike, Pakistani Federal Railways Minister Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, is not anything like Iran's Supreme Leader's fatwa against Salman Rushdie, who's actually is a talented and significant author, not a low rent propagandist film maker.. Imagine if Amtrak's Senior Administrator issued a comparable remark. Our media is just trying to rile us up

Bill... Then you should know that, basically, "history" is fiction written by the winners and religion is, indeed the "opiate of the masses." Here, then, is an opinion (not mine, necessarily):

"Any given religion, from christianity to voodoo, is a cult. Ironically enough, the word cult is used in a derogatory term when expressing other religions. Any religion will have people congregate and will thusly be considered a cult. The two most recognized cults are christianity and the muslim faith. Though I know the story of mormanism and why I do not recognize it as a religion will not deter someone else from going. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and will follow on those beliefs. Only when people become extremist in those beliefs should been taken into much concern."

if as in cult you mean culture....that is what cult really means in its shortened form...but it is also used to mean something outside of normal religion...religion isnt really a cult..but it is a form of a culture ...a culture of people who chose to believe a certain way.....christianity is one form of culture of people who chose to believe that Christ came to this earth died for us and taught us many things and then died...leaving behind millions no jillions of believers....judism...another culture of people who are still waiting for Christ to come...their beliefs do affect how they live their live...then there are various unsundry types of beliefs out there...this country has freedom of religion ..however mormons were not allowed to practice and even allmost exterminated by senators of this country....I dont see anything wrong with religion...but when that religion preaches or its laws harm a human life..it shouldnt be allowed in the united states....so far we have seen where people of muslim or islamic faith have murdered their own children....if a religion doesnt obey the laws of the land...they should not be allowed to exist here...we are going to have to take a stand on this as its serious....

You know what model, you are right and if they request aid, military or otherwise we should demand repayment with reasonable repayment terms.I mean really...if we're going to be the world's security agent then we need to run it as a business. If China wants Pakistan go right ahead,They can have Afghanistan too. They are far more able to handle things from there than we.You want to see how a Communist country handles extremists?..Oh man it aint pretty...I think China would be able to handle Al queida quite effectively indeed, heh heh..I think a nightly roundup by the Peoples Republic is necessary here what do you all think?

I totally agree that ALL AID be stopped with immediate effect. This is especially important when one of THEIRS is using US tax payers money to have an up an coming bright young film director snuffed out.

You guys in the US, need to be sat down and undergo a really good talking too. You are borrowing massive amounts money abroad, to send over to these morons so they are all cashed up to offer big dollars to snuff one of your own.

Yes, I agree that people join the defence force to shoot others or to be shot . This is their job. Why can they be shot over there and not back home defending the nation ?

We are officially at war with these murderous idiotic imbeciles, but why outside the US. Close the borders and enact a law that closes all these fanatical murderous religions with immediate effect. This religion is NO GOOD as it does not have a god or a concience . It is a front for a lunatic fringe who class murder as a national sport.

All American weapons, equipment needs to be manufactured using PIG FAT as its lubricant as of now.

Pork needs to be a staple of ALL soldiers. Pet pigs need to kept at army bases as a security deterant.

Must not have known that they are either on vacation or the campaign trail. The first thing we need to do is get a days work for a days pay out or our representatives. It is time to withdraw from the "stans" and spend the money to rebuild America's infrastructure. When will they just accept that changing their hearts and minds is not going to happen? When will they get our of corporate pockets and act like public servants? No incumbants!!

Yes, they are afraid. No Country has accepted Islam without being forced to do so. The cult uses the threats and violence to control the "followers" who fear their leaders. The end goal of Islam is power and money; because from the outset they used terrorism to gain city after city with the goal of world domination. They have vast wealth and power but the populace still lives under threat of violence.

Mike-2594304, you are correct. Islam was always spread at the edge of a sword. The people in middle east countries don't have a choice of their religion unless they want to live in fear.

Nevertheless, their strategy for spreading it has continued to be quite effective. They are waging a low level slow war with other cultures. It involves infiltration, then replacing or out procreating the target culture before actually moving on to implementation of full Islamic control.

Because it is considered a "religion", it is aided by well meaning people in the target countries that want to show tolerance and political correctness. All of Europe is already destined to become an Islamic land and if current growth rates of Islam continue, the U.S. is next. Other countries like Japan that are selective in their immigration policies don't face the problem.

Threaten the power ($$) of their e-mammies or eye a toilets and they react with vengeance. Then they go home, have a brandy, and suit their children up with bombs, and beat their women. This is one government minister- are the rest of his posse sheep, do they agree with him or are they too threatened to contradict him? Separation of church and state is far more important than a lot of americans appreciate. I can't pledge to our flag because in my lifetime it has assumed an act of idolatry for many. This is not what the veterans in my family served for.

And the pledge of allegiance was written as a selling point printed on the back of school notebooks in the early 20th century.

Words can be hollow. Practice the principles of allegiance and be very mindful of that to which you quietly pledge yourself.

We should NOT boycott Pakistan or Pakistani businesses in the USA--Hopefully because we are more rational than they are. You know, two wrongs don't make a right, etc., etc.

There is a lot more to Pakistan than their talking heads. A lot of people just trying to live a life. Not all nutcases, not all Muslim. I would let the insanity play out a bit--it will disappear, I think, like other ill-conceived efforts. It feels like sometimes we just need to let them vent, because they have no other power or control. Not right, I know, but we can't (and should not) control the world.

Foreign Aid from wealthier countries provides the lifestyle for Pakistan's Leaders. This entire charade is nothing more than an attempt to get back at the Americans who arrived in the dark, killed their beloved bin Laden, and then buried the coward assassin at sea, preventing another holy place to gather. I know, maybe the Muslims can ask the Jews to ask God for another Moses, who with the flick of his rod, can part the sea. There, two religions working together for the common good of whatever!

Muslims seem to be the only religious group who have an "over the top" attachment to their prophet. No other world religion has this level of adoration. It is typical of a young religion which does not have its sense of proportion. It is fanatical. You can compare it to the Christianity of the Middle Ages up through the 1600's. If you said anything against Jesus, or wrote anything or even if someone just pointed a finger at you, you were dead. It is no different now in the Muslim community. They have not grown up. Their leaders sit with a Middle Ages mindset.

The questions that should be asked, quite seriously, are "can Allah stand the heat?" and "does Mohammed really need to be defended". If Allah and Mohammed cannot do it by themselves, then I doubt that fanatics in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Egypt, Libya, Indonesia or anywhere else can help their prophet or their god.

Demanding "death" for the writers of the movie, death for the USA, death for Israel, etc., are symptomatic of backward, third world mentalities. Again, they have not matured, they have not grown up. It is almost sad that we give news time to third world nuts--but we all should know the kind of insanity that we are facing.

In general, most of us are sensitive to insulting people for any reason. We just would not do it. But in our world, satire and freedom of speech are long-accepted and long-protected traditions. We should NOT give up our freedoms for ANY REASON. EVER. If that means a "war of traditions", or "war of religions", then bring it on. It is NOT something that any of us should compromise on. If the "Muslim world" wants to isolate itself from the rest of world, that is fine. Leave US alone. Their religion is THEIR problem (and their COMFORT), NOT ours.

The Muslim world would do itself a huge service by being even more concerned about THEIR actions, and the actions of those who say that they "speak" for Muslims. A small minority have built a culture of hatred, and it reflects on ALL Muslims in a very negative way. It is a pity. They have also spent a great deal of effort attacking other religions, including Christianity and Judaism. THAT is unacceptable.

So, perhaps we should just declare our own FATWA against the defenders of Islam who are intent on killing us and our feedom of speech. The funny thing is that if they had just not made a big deal out of the movie, it would have faded into oblivion--it would not have affected anyone. As a result, Muslims have killed other Muslims and foreign nationals. Perhaps we should treat the invasion of our embassy as a real incursion into US Territory and really hit back hard.

The re-curring theme through-out thier religion the theme is the same;, one world religion-thiers! And they are willing to sacrifice anyone and are willing to wait a 100 years or more to make this happen. They know the only way that is going to happen is to destroy all freedom of speech and all other forms of religion. It is not a belief system that can be reasoned with, though our government officials seem to think this is possible.

When will the liberals of this country figure that out? They take our money and then use it to attack us from every angle and are trying to get Islamic law into our court system- (some states have already sucumbed to certain islamic doctrines in the courts-check out some recent Florida court cases if you don't believe me....

Islam is a religion based on control, fear and hate. Yes there are some moderates within the religion, but even they seem to support thier own extremists-perhaps from fear-perhaps from agreeing with them more than they are willing to admit.. I don't know

I read things in this media that remind me of those same acts committed by mindless Muslim radicals every time someone makes a Derogatory remark against the belief of others are no better than those they persecute.
I cannot believe there are still prejudicial anarchist remarks made toward religions that are accepted "and sworn to be upheld by congress" that are allowed by the freedoms stated in the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution of these United States of America, being defiled by these statements.
Albeit, these fools have their right to express their views without hindrance as allowed also by these same documents; yet we should keep in mind, the laws of this land prohibit defamation of character, liable, or inciting of a riot. Moreover, newer legislation has limited the freedom of certain acts deemed against the security of the Nation as treasonous. Those empowered 'supposedly by congresses' to give interpretation and enforcement of these laws can target those they deem as such.
We as patriots of this Nation should keep a closer eye on not only the congress; we need to keep a watchful eye for more unlawful creation and authority of position enacted by the commander in chief's executive orders as part of his plan.
Read our history and public record of who said what, when, and why. Understand the whole body of the statement and not just bits and piece mades so prevalent in today's media presentations. Investigate who profits from the way the media is leaning and directing positive and negative comments to dissuade or convince you for your vote.
Stop the hate propagated by these so-called enlightened personages, who have relentlessly suppressed the public's ability to think for themselves. Law makers want to maintain their power over the nation to continue uninterrupted with their plan by keeping their subjects in the mode of a microscopically narrowed view of the world and life, as they see it should be.
When someone comes along that will upset the cart, their reactions is to discredit, disparage their character, lie, cheat, promise anything, using any means that will hide the ultimate goal of continued preponderance of the people.
View the larger picture, we the people of this country are letting our freedoms to be taken away, little by little through passive acceptance of the decisions made in the Whitehouse and enacted into laws.

The "apologist" claim is a shiny object, designed to keep the small minds occupied. It seems to be working nicely.

Until Obama really stands up to these people, and does something about protecting the people of America, of course Americans will accuse he is a muslim, and loves those countries more than his own. Him and his wife can't even give respect to the U.S. flag, just look at all the pictures that show it..These countries will always have hate for America, no matter what we do. I will not vote for Obama, and hopefully, others will realize how bad he is for America, our protection, and our freedoms.. among many other reasons!!!

And in this country, we protect the rights of idiots to their idiocy. And the right to disagree with and to dislike another religion is free to Americans - freedom of thought and expression. No one was hurt by this film - a mature religious individual would ignore it. This movie is being used as an excuse to protest the US. (Seriously Libya? Egypt? We supported you in your revolution and this is the thanks we get?)

Time to stop apologizing for this "film" and withhold funds from Islamic countries that are threatening the safety of Americans there. I'm a left wing liberal and even I'VE had enough of this nonsense.....

Attack me or my own in the name of your religion and you got a fight on your hands. Attack a fellow citizen of mine or my country and ditto.

The hate the USA so much you can taste it. I SAY STOP SUPPORTING THE ARAB NATIONS INVOLVED IMMEDIATLY. All this BS over a film, they carry on like lunaticks, burn embessys, kill people and ddistroy. President amondidijan from iran is the biggest problem in the middle east. Why do they allow him into this country to go to the NATO meeting? BAN HIM FROM COMING TO THE USA AND MOCKING US.

Except for our money, we are hated through out the region. I've heard the arguments, "we can't offend them, they are a nuclear state". Well guess what, they offend us, and we are nuclear as well. And I'm quite sure we have more than they do. For obvious reasons, I don't advocate nuclear annihlation over religious differences. But the problem is, do they feel the same way. And I don't believe they do.

These same people repeatedly chant "There is no God but Allah" Isn't denouncing a Christian god a same blasphemy? It seems to me like this religious fanaticism is a powder keg looking for a light!

Not a real religion and therefore not protected by the non blasphemy clause. That would be my take on it from the letter of the "law" as it were. However, if I am wrong I do apologize.

This is Islam and its true intentions towards everyone and Islam's ultimatum to the world -- conform to our religion and laws that mandate death for failing to conform or die. Islam wants peace but first the entire planet has to conform to Islam and only then will there be peace. Islam is a religion based ideology that has continuously refused to coexist with anything else on the planet and relentlessly used every peaceful and radically violent means available to turn the entire planet into one Islamic existence. Islam has been this way for 1400 years and has no indication whatsoever of ever being different. Just as all of Europe, Central Asia and North America finally had to exterminate Nazism, the world will ultimately have to choose between being totally Islamic or exterminating Islamic idology and religion. Islam will not allow for any other outcome.
