Free Syrian Army fighters from the Al-Faruk brigade rest Saturday at the Syrian crossing border point of Tal Abyad, a Turkish-Syrian border crossing captured by the rebels earlier in the week, in eastern Syria.
The leaders of the rebel Free Syrian Army said Saturday they moved their command center from Turkey to Syria with the aim of uniting rebels and speeding up the fall of President Bashar al-Assad's regime.
The FSA has been based in Turkey for more than a year as fighters have struggled to battle forces loyal to Assad. Although rebels now control large swathes of Syria, they face air and artillery attack from Assad's forces.
"The leadership of the FSA has entered the liberated areas (of Syria) after the success of the plan that the FSA has worked on with other battalions and units in order to safeguard the free areas," Colonel Riad al-Asaad said in a video statement.
Brig. Gen. Mustafa al-Sheikh, who heads the FSA's military council, told The Associated Press that the group made the move last week. He would not say where the new headquarters is located or give other details.
A rebel source told Reuters that Asaad, the colonel, arrived in Syria two days ago. "The plan is that all the leadership of the FSA will be based in Syria soon, either in Idlib province or Aleppo province," the source told Reuters, adding that the move would be completed within two weeks.
The rebels made their announcement on the eve of a conference of several government-sanctioned Syrian opposition groups in the capital Damascus aiming to provide a political solution to the civil war -- a meeting that the FSA dismissed as a ploy by Assad to fool the international community.

The FSA is the most prominent of several armed groups fighting to overthrow Assad. In the video, posted on the Web, the rebel colonel said his men would "fight side-by-side" with all groups and "start the plan to liberate Damascus soon, God willing."
Despite calling for Assad to step down, the West is wary of arming disparate rebel groups. Western diplomats say they are looking for signs that the rebels have a clear chain of command within Syria.

Turkey, which is housing more than 80,000 refugees from Syria, is facing internal pressure to distance itself from the conflict, and rebels are not always welcomed by residents.

Rebels shot down a fighter jet as it flew over the northern Syrian town of Atarib in Idlib province on Saturday, a witness said.
The witness, an independent journalist who asked to remain anonymous, said rebel fighters were attacking a military base near the town when the jet flew over and rebels shot it down with anti-aircraft guns.
Rebels have previously brought down several government planes using outdated anti-aircraft machine guns welded to pickup trucks.
Activists say more than 27,000 people, mostly civilians, have been killed in the 18-month-old revolt in Syria.
In Damascus, the army has been conducting raids of southern suburbs over the past few days after driving out most rebel fighters. Black smoke rose from the suburb of Hajar al-Aswad on Saturday and residents said their houses had been set ablaze by security forces.

The opposition conference in Damascus on Sunday is organized by the internal opposition's main umbrella group, the National Coordination Body.
Last July, a similar conference was cancelled after the owner of the venue was threatened by Assad's forces who fired on a pro-democracy protest outside, killing 14.
Opposition groups say Russia and China, which have blocked Western attempts to secure U.N. sanctions against Assad, have promised to exert influence to protect Sunday's meeting.
Rebel fighters in Syria claim to have seized another border crossing into Turkey, from the control of President Assad's government forces. But around the capital Damascus, the rebels are losing ground. Three southern suburbs have been retaken by the president's forces. ITV's Bill Neely reports from Damascus.

Maybe the U.S. should start thinking of taking on either China or Russia as it appears these superpowers are starting to team up against us. They are fearful of us.....for now.
We are obviously not the democracy/freedom lovers we said we are, so let's flex some muscle and profit from our violence. I suggest China. A few nukes, with Japan backing us up, and we eliminate ALL debt as well as own an Asian country. We could use our European allies to contain Russia.

The enemy of America (aka bankers who rule the world) are those who refuse to pay interest (aka Muslims). Check the total debt per country, and you will see that US, Europe, Japan are allies (the countries and their people have high amount of debt). These countries are controlled by the banking cartel and their citizens are slaves paying interest for money that is created out of nothing.

Hmm... Reading between the lines, it could be that Turkey sees the rebels either losing or at best entering into a prolonged civil war, and doesn't want to expose itself to having that war encroach onto Turkish territory, so told the rebel leadership that they cannot continue to use Turkey as a shelter for their headquarters. Already, some of the refugee camps are rumored to be sheltering rebel fighters. It wouldn't take much for Syria to send a jet aircraft over to wipe out the rebel headquarters, which would not be popular with the locals living nearby. Turkey might be reluctant to send its forces to Syria in response if they could face chemical weapons. So I suspect Turkey may have told the rebel leaders they have worn out their welcome.

The C.I.A rouses rebels and arms them; it is false to say the U.S is not arming the rebels in Syria because the C.I.A has been seen on the Turkey/Syria border supplying arms. These arms are used to fight an unpopular rebellion; the Ba'ath Party is so popular in Syria that if elections were held today Assad would most likely be elected. This is contrasted with the unpopularity of the U.S backed rebels who have used beheading as means of execution, as well as killing those who refuse to join their force. This past week, "2016: The Movie" about President Barack Obama opened in the Chicago area, and I chose to get more of an education about Obama by seeing the movie. After the inundation of canned hype for the movie on conservative talk shows across the Chicago radio dial that sounded more like commercials than honest endorsements of the movie, I was skeptical of what I was going to see.
While some talk show hosts sounded like they were genuinely impressed with the documentary and honestly endorsing the film, there were those who were obviously reading a commercial script which was not coming across as sincere to the regular listener - at least not to this often-skeptical listener. Perhaps, in future promotions of the film, it would be wise to have pre-recorded commercials done by the professional commercial-makers rather than having the likes of Mark Levin and Sean Hannity doing script after script to promote the movie. After all, the listeners aren't stupid and resent any attempt at being conned. After many reads by the talk show hosts, the readings of the commercial script were no more enthusiastic than another Life-Lock commercial read - another commercial that ought to be professionally done.
Yet, I'm glad I saw the hyped-film because it was more informative than I had thought it would be and included less propaganda than I had predicted. If anything, it was nearly too informative as there was an enormous amount of information condensed into the nearly one-hour-and-a-half documentary. Fact after fact is put forth which shows that President Obama definitely has many skeletons in the closet that have not been released prior to the nation's trust in him with the Oval Office.
To watch this movie and realize - or simply be reminded of - all that is unknown about President Obama is of concern. Much of the information has been ignored by the American media totally. When appropriately reminded as to what is still unknown about Obama to date, one has to ask: How can any logical-thinking person give a damn about Romney's taxes while not asking any questions regarding our current President's past? The man influences the entire globe, but liberal Americans want to know how much Mitt Romney paid in taxes in the past rather than learn about the man who they have entrusted with the country. Unbelievable.
The movie undeniably links Obama to persons of suspicious-interest due to their past actions and statements, such as former radical activist and Chicago educator Bill Ayers. While the media and blinded-liberals cast such facts aside, the movie does not. No, this portion of the movie is not propaganda - it is the display of factual information about relationships between people that cannot be denied. Yet, the "left" does deny the facts that are right in front of them.
Quite disturbing is the talk of the United States economy in the film. The current national debt which has increased two-fold during Obama's presidency and the horrendous economy is suggested to be part of the plan to strip the nation of democracy - reasonable cause to make citizens totally dependent on the government. The "left" is aghast at this suggestion of the current economy. They actually believe that Obama is unintelligent enough to let this economy just happen. Ironically, it's many of the people on the "right" who know Obama's not stupid, and much of what has happened to the United States in the past four years is part of Obama's plan.
How could one so-highly educated and intelligent as Obama not know what he was doing when he incurred such debt? I left the movie thinking more strongly than I had in the past that the current debt and this economy was part of Obama's plan all along. Increasingly making Americans dependent on the government is the plan. What's more, he knew his blind followers would believe it was not the plan and, of course, was all Bush's fault.
He must be laughing at his blind followers all the way to the "new America " they're allowing him to create. My belief is that Obama continues to prey on his die-hard followers' stupidity to accomplish his personal goals for America .
The most disturbing part of the film to me was the interview with President Obama's half-brother George Obama from Nairobi , Kenya . How can Obama claim to want to help people when he has done absolutely nothing for his own family? It makes me wonder if he really cares about anybody if he can't find it in his heart to help his own family.
As the closing credits started to role upward across the screen, the audience applauded. Me, I just walked out - reasonably upset.
Those who have already decided to vote for Obama will probably not even see the movie. It's sad but they probably don't want to know the truth when it is laid out so clearly for them in this documentary. The independents who are still deciding who they are going to vote for ought to see this film. I'm quite confident that any undecided voter who sees this film will know who to vote for after viewing this documentary. If you know you're not going to support the "left" in this coming election, see the film out of interest if you like. But, fair warning, it's disturbing - and quite frightening - to say the least.

Just proves that Turkey has had a hand in this civil war all along. What do they have to gain? What did Obama have to gain by supplying them with weapons? Why is Obama and Turkey hell bent on taking this government down?
When Obama has been pressed on the issue, he does a real good dance, and side step. The American public as a right to know why Obama has dragged us into a civil war.
We have no business in this civil war and neither does Turkey. All they are doing is feeding the fire and making the region MORE unstable. Why does Obama want this region more unstable? What has he got planned for us?
If, as you suggest, Turkey should not have any business in this civil war, then perhaps they should send the 120,000 Syrian refugees that crossed into their country, in fear for their lives, back home. You've got the Islamic rebels in control of most of Syria now, it should be perfectly safe for most of them.
I hope Syrian Gov will finally destroy all those bandits and headcutters that acting in Syria now and paid by US and west countries ...
Hope there will be normal political and peace process started, not millitary revolution as initiated and provoced by US and western country killing the mentioned 27 thousand ...
Hope that President Assad gets over-turned soon to avoid more blood-shed, and hopefully have a Democratic Syrian one day soon!
