Mourners pray near the coffin of Omran Shaaban on Tuesday in Misrata, Libya.
One of the young Libyan rebels credited with capturing Moammar Gadhafi in a drainage ditch nearly a year ago died Tuesday of injuries he allegedly sustained after he was kidnapped by the late dictator's supporters.
The death of Omran Shaaban, who had been hospitalized in France, raised the prospect of even more violence and score-settling, with the newly elected National Congress authorizing police and the army to use force if necessary to apprehend those who abducted the 22-year-old and three companions near the town of Bani Walid in July.
His family claimed he was shot by gunmen, then captured and tortured by militiamen still loyal to Gadhafi.
Libya is battling lingering pockets of support for the old regime, and its government has been unable to rein in armed militias in a country rife with weapons. Earlier this month, a demonstration at the U.S. Consulate in the eastern city of Benghazi turned violent, killing four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens.
Shaaban was praised as a "dutiful martyr" and a "brave hero" by the National Congress, which has ordered the defense and interior ministries to find those who abducted Shaaban.
No reward
However, his family says he never received a promised reward of 1 million Libyan dinars ($800,000) for capturing Gadhafi on Oct. 20, 2011, in the former leader's hometown of Sirte. The eccentric dictator was killed later that day by revolutionary fighters.
His body was greeted at the airport in his hometown of Misrata by more than 10,000 people for a procession to the soccer stadium for prayers Tuesday and he was buried early Wednesday.
Ousted Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi was shown no mercy and brutally killed by the same people he ruled over for more than 40 years. Graphic pictures and videos captured his final moments. NBC's Richard Engel reports.
His brother Hussein complained that the Libyan authorities did nothing to help Shaaban.
"Libya was declared liberated of Gadhafi's rule on October 23 last year. It isn't," he told Reuters.

On Tuesday in the capital Tripoli, several hundred protesters gathered outside the headquarters of the National Congress to demand that the government avenge Shaaban's death.
Shaaban's family said that he and three friends had been en route home to the western city of Misrata from a vacation in July when they were attacked by gunmen in an area called el-Shimekh near Bani Walid.
Shaaban and his friends, who like many Libyans were armed, fired back, the family said.
Two bullets hit Shaaban, and he was paralyzed from the waist down, his relatives said, and the men were captured by Bani Walid militiamen.
A town of about 100,000 people, it remains a stronghold of Gadhafi loyalists and is isolated from the rest of Libya.
Libyan president to NBC: Anti-Islam film had 'nothing to do with' US Consulate attack
President Mohammed el-Megarif visited Bani Walid this month and secured the release of Shaaban and two of his companions. A fourth is still being held.
'Sliced with razors'
When Shaaban was finally brought home, he was "skin and bones" — still paralyzed, frail and slipping in and out of consciousness, according to another brother, Abdullah.
"It was clear he was beaten a lot," Abdullah Shaaban said. "His entire chest was sliced with razors. His face had changed. It wasn't my brother that I knew."
Omran Shaaban was later flown to France for medical treatment.
Shaaban, the second youngest in a family of nine children, was a member of Libya Shield, a loose coalition of the country's largest militias relied on by the Defense Ministry.
NYT: Deadly Libya attack a major blow to CIA efforts
Khalifa al-Zawawi, the former head of Misrata's local council, said the government reneged on paying the reward to Shaaban.
Abdullah Shaaban said his brother did not mind, saying he considered capturing Gadhafi to be his national duty.
While Libya's president released a statement Tuesday vowing that those responsible for the violence against Omran Shaaban would be punished, apprehending and disarming the militants in Bani Walid are among the most daunting tasks facing the government.
The town is heavily armed with rocket-propelled grenades, automatic weapons and artillery left over from last year's civil war.
Residents there say that pictures of Gadhafi are displayed during weddings and youths play his speeches on their cars' stereos. Students refrain from singing Libya's new national anthem and teachers refuse to follow the revised curriculum.
US Ambassador Chris Stevens was 'courageous,' Obama says
Bani Walid fighters were blamed for many of the sniper attacks, shelling, rapes and other violence against the city of Misrata during the civil war, and there were new calls Tuesday from residents of Misrata for vengeance against Bani Walid.
In July, fighters from Misrata threatened to attack Bani Walid after two journalists from their town were detained there. The journalists were eventually released after mediation by the authorities.
Shaaban's eldest brother, Walid, insisted there would be justice for the family, regardless of whether the government is the one to administer it.
"I plan to pursue his rights legally and join if there is a military incursion. We are going to death, God willing," Walid Shaaban said.
Family friend Abu-Shaala echoed that sentiment.
"If the government does not go in, we are going in," he said. "We are all patient. But our patience has limits."

He could as well have been kidnapped by al Qaeda fundamentalists who objected to the fact that he was a student radical and not properly Islamic enough. The press lies to us often enough we don't know what to believe.
Gadhafi was a nutjob but he knew he was near the end of his life and wanted to come in out of the cold as a respected world leader. Either way, he was no threat to the US, unlike the fundies Obama has roaming the area now!
Maybe it was because of a video's nobody's seen...?
Can't wait to destroy another country; Go USA!
Gadhafi was not a threat to the U.S.? Have you ever heard of Pan Am flight 103? Do you ever read?
How many people must suffer or die so Mr. Rick in San Diego, South Dakota, or where ever feels safe? Do US military or CIA actions abroad breed more hate towards Ricks of America?
Gadhafi was the number one supporter of terrorist till a republican president sent a cruise missle into his bedroom after he arranged for an aircraft to be blown up with a load of civilians on board. After that, he became a model citizen. He was held accountable for his terrorist actions before it became popular.
What does my comment have to do with U.S. military actions? Where am I advocating U.S. military action anywhere? All I did was question the comment that Ghadafi was not a threat to the U.S.
Gaddafi's supporters came. Gaddafi's supporters saw. Omraan died.
WASHINGTON, DC: The White House reported this morning that the death of this young man was also caused by George W. Bush. "Everything that goes wrong is Bush's fault", stated President Barack Hussein Obama. "In fact, two weeks ago when I ignored the death of our Ambassador in Libya because I was stooping that high-end Vegas hooker, that that Bush's fault too!"
I hear that Bernard-Henri Lévy was at Omraam's bedside from the moment he was hospitalized in France and wept bitterly when his beloved catamite passed away.
rick
who is the man is a lil lost im thinking
and yes gadafi was a terrible threat
need a quik boot off the planet for sure and i know others who need the same boot gadafi got
not to sure what who is getting at
The biggest problem that LIBYA has is in RESTORING real LAW and ORDER. WHAT most don't know or realize is that IN MANY of these Middle EAST countries almost all have a weapon of some sort!
Will agree with some here that this kid could very well have been killed by the same he fought along side of.
GOOD LUCK Libya--and DON'T LISTEN to the DSOB's from the EU and here .
Although I certainly support fighting for your freedom and beliefs, this appears to be a prime example of "Live by the Sword, die by the Sword", as was Gaddafi's fate.
Agreed bdjb---agreed!
larry-5534379
You're right. He respected the agreements with the US. We really need to quit getting involved in other countries' revolutions, while some people were glad the US got involved, obviously others were not. We cannot force another country to become democratic, it happens when it is what the vast majority of citizens want, until then status quo might be better, or else the violence never stops, it becomes a never ending civil war.
Rachael... you are stupid! First, what does this story has to do with our President? Second, if you have a grudge with Pres. Obama... this is not the story to bash him on. damned Republican. What is on you people's minds? Obama is a descent family man, honest and compassionate. What is the problem? Not white enough for you?
George:
You need to get a grip. NBC's news article was skewed and once again tries to imply that the 9/11 deaths and attack on the embassy was related to spontaneous religious demonstrations. Re-read the article.
Secondly, NBC has been handling Obama with velvet gloves, and maybe because the media is afraid they will be called racist if they truly portray him for what his is. A construct of dirty chicago politics. Groomed by the democrats to be the first president of color.
Obama is a socialist at heart and does not have your or my best interests at heart. He is one of those politicians who believes the average U.S. citizen does not have the intelligence to know what is good for him/her, so he will tell/force his beliefs on us. I worked in DC in legislative affairs and he represents some of the worst arrogance and dogmatism that infects many of our career, elected leaders.
And, this article is just another example of Obama's failed foreign policy programs. His people have lied. Accused the Brits of lying and has tried to deny the Libyan President's statements that our state department was warned. If the revolutionaries are still being attacked by moslem extremists and Quadafi loyalists, why wouldn't they seek revenge on U.S. interests and citizens in Libya. Our administration dropped the ball and without physical security and presence in Libya, the current government will have a hard time. And, remember we were invited into Libya to help them.
Racism has nothing to do with Obama's incompetence, except that the democrats for years have been trying to show how unprejudiced they were....Of course, Lester Maddox, George Wallace and many others were dixiecrat racists, but the dems try to re-write their own history. They also try to disregard that Lincoln was a Republican. Why is it, you liberals always throw out the racial card when any of your "messiah's" screw-ups are revealed. Oh, let's see. Lyndon Johnson and Ladybird, had black sharecroppers making money for them. Jimmy Carter, good Christian that he was, had folks harvesting peanuts at less than minimum wage. Nancy Pelosi, fights against stronger immigration laws. Her family owns one of the largest food/agribusinesses in the world....gotta keep those cheap wages going. If that isn't all class slavery and racism, I don't know what is.
So, you play the race card, just because Rachel is looking deeper into the article and Obama's flawed policies. I alway thought whites who cried racism for the blacks or other people of color, were actually apologists.
You go ahead an stay in your own little LaLa Land, and if anyone disagrees with Premier Obama, continue to call them a racist. A pretty weak and unintellectual response to a thoughtful woman who took the time to dissect this article and question our administration's role in this series of foreign policy tragedies.

No threat? You stupid@!$%# con. He did Lockerbe. You cons say anything to make people feel for you. Anything!
How long ago was Lockerbie? OBAMA SUPPORTS ISLAMISTS NOW. HE REMOVES THE LOCAL CONTROLS ON THEM. HIS INCOMPETENCE GOT THE AMBASSADOR KILLED. Rice telling the Marines not to bring live clips? Huh? What about that?
I'll give you a hint: Lockerbie was nearly 25 years ago.
I'll give YOU a hint: Obama supports the new Libyan government who are not terrorists. You obviously like having murderous, anti-U.S. terrorist dictators in charge.
I get your point Rick but the Bush and Obama administrations were courting Ghaddafi before everything went south and he was thrown under the bus by Obama, that is the risk you take when you are a dictator. He paid out Billions of dollars in restitution and that was good enough for Bush and Obama.
Rick: So you don't think the Muslim Brotherhood are terrorists?
I am a different Rick... LOL. NATURALLY the Muslim Brotherhood are terrorists. But, Barack Hussein Obama prefers to call them "MY terrorists". In fact, this Arab Spring was something HE DID BUILD! His exact quote was "Seeing them dragging our dead ambassador through the streets of Libya was even better than the movie "Weekend at Bernie's".
Thrown under the bus by Obama? News flash: The U.S. is not in charge of the world. Ghaddafi was a dictator and the Libyan people were sick of him. John McCain wanted to send U.S. troops in there, not Obama. Obama, along with NATO, provided support to the Libyan people who wanted DEMOCRACY. I'm no fan of theocracies, like they have in Egypt now, but I'm no fan of dictatorships, either. And even worse than a dictatorship is a dictatorship propped up by the U.S. (e.g., Mubarek in Egypt). You want to turn a nation against you, then there are fewer better ways of doing that than supporting an oppresive dictatorship for decades like we did with Egypt. Democracy is very new to these nations. The Muslim Brotherhood barely won the election. And it's still way too early to know how this will all turn out. But I can't believe the answer is for the U.S. to continue oppress the people of these nations forever. Somewhere along the way we'll pay the consequences for that.
Right, SouthDickRick, Obama simply sent our money for arms. To Libya and Egypt. To overthrow the dictatorships we propped up--and by propping them up, had some control over them.
Can you please try to write a coherent paragraph. I can't make heads or tails what you're trying to say. It sounds like maybe you're defending dictatorships, though, and the root of much of the Middle East hatred of the U.S. How many people do you know from that region? I've known many and have talked extensively about politics there, and also read a lot about the region. It might help you to do a little research to gain some perspective. Try talking to folks so you can get a feel of what life is like and some of the reasons behind their impressions of the U.S. The reasons are complex and involve a whole lot more than you'll ever know from just watching Fox News.
The US Government is "Thick" inside Libya.
The Terrorists, barbarian murders are not done. We need a President who will set limits on the Libyan Government, so they do protect our people. Not just pretending, or skillfully talking to a bunch of untamed Animals.
Ghaddafi may be gone, but he left a trail of matters. The score hasn't been settled yet.
The Violence against the West, and High Intelligence spies is just beginning.
As someone mentioned above, "There is no Video"; one just has to use their own speculation of a War the US will start. We are never going to be able to get out of these Terrorist Countries. "The War on Terror" does exist; it has been failure in these particular regions.
What a mess. We sprinkled weapons all over the country like it was candy. We taught them how to use those weapons and now the country has roving bands of little armies with no allegiances to the new government. My question to the Libyans, how is your new democracy working out for you? Do you want do overs?
Or worse, they do have allegiances to the new government.
Yes, we supplied the weapons to the rebels to overthrow Ghadaffi. Unfortunately, a lot of them fell into the hands of Al-Quaida and the Taliban. This is why our ambassador was killed. He and the 3 others were going to meet with people to try an negotiate the return of a lot of those weapons. Instead they turned the weapons on them and killed them. Nice, huh?
cry alquida cry taliban
but there were 1000's of lybians attacking our embassy not 10 or 20 terrorist it was the people of lybia
the terrorist were there but does one need to be led by the nose to be an idiot no the lybians themselves led themselves to do such haness killing
Sugar coat it all you want. The Libyans protesting over the film were all pretty much dispersed when this killing took place. The ambassador and the other 3 went back to the embassy around 4am to meet and negotiate with people to get back some of these weapons, as our govt. was not too happy when they found out a lot of them fell into the wrong hands. They were killed by al-quaida and taliban operatives who possesed those same weapons. Our government lies to us. Always has, always will.
Bill:
Just so you'll know, when I left DC 20 years ago, the CIA was still trying to cover it's ass, by tracking down the large number of "unaccounted for" shoulder-launched, surface-to-air RedEye anti-aircraft missiles, it gave to the Taliban to combat the Russians in Afghanistan.
Everytime one of our aircraft goes down in the MidEast, one has to wonder why. Unfortunately, proliferation of weapons in the MidEast is not just a U.S. screw up. Look at the number of AK-47s and AK-74s you see in the news. And, much of the Russian equipment that was abandoned(or captured) during the Russian withdrawal from Afghanistan is still being used against us.
Finally, While North Vietnam has been displaying a friendly face and encouraging tourism, they've been selling off all the captured weaponry and ammunition left behind when we and our allies abandoned South Vietnam. The black market in weaponry is full of anything you want if you have enough dinars.
MeanWhile, Bhillary and Premier Obama, are trying to sneak through ratification of a universal ban on firearms sales to commercial and private citizens, in the U.N. and undermine our Constitution. The real problem is not private sales or gun shops, it's the black market.
I might add here, when the USSR fell apart, Russia lost track or lost control of it's armories and weapons in it's satellite nations. That's one of the reasons every administration has been worried about brief-case, nukes, being slipped into our country.
Although most bloggers don't have the history, the USSR and the U.S. had developed tactical nukes with 10 kiloton yields, 105mm in diameter. When the USSR broke up, it's anyone's guess if some of those mini-nukes stayed within Russian territory and control.
Imagine ground zero at the Anahiem Convention Center, in Anahiem, CA. Bye, Bye, Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm and a few other national/international tourism spots.
But, as history and current affairs proves, a lot of our problems are the results of the colonial powers leaving their "empires" with power vacuums and the continuing power struggles. Of course, many of the Arab and North African nations have a lot of resentment leftover from the deceitful way they were treated by colonialism.
Ah, what the heck, those that care will pay attention, others will engage in trash-talking to hide their ignorance of history and current affairs.
Semper Fidelis to all veterans and service personnel. God Bless and Help America, Da Gunny
What goes around comes around, the dirty rat had it coming to him.
Oh and don't try to butter up and justify gaddafi's murder, he was an unarmed old man that was beaten to death on the street. And you people that cheer this act, SHAME.
@SevenSevens
Are you kidding me??? That old, unarmed man, was responsible for the torture, mutilation, and death of hundreds upon hundreds of human beings, the shame should be yours.
Uh, from the pictures he was shot in the temple by a small caliber hand gun.
Not downplaying the horrific Lockebie disaster but Libya paid Millions in reparations, at least one culprit served time and is dead AND Ghadaffi brought his way off the terrorists list and was well received by the Bush and Obama administration before everything went south. With the US it's Friend Today and Foe Tomorrow depending on how much money you have.
A little oil in Libya seemed to make a difference, huh?
violence begats violence!!
Sanctimonious Hogwash from a western moral/liberal standpoint.
Simple minded people cannot understand complex problems.
I will show you an example of why we cannot use western values on Muslim religious fanatics. The following was posted by a Rev. LR after years of research on Islam. Thank you Rev.
Islam DOES NOT WORSHIP THE SAME GOD AS CHRISTIANS AND JEWS.
Islam has been at war with the rest of the world since it's inception. Islam is dedicated to bringing the rest of the world into subjection.
The state which is
regarded as the instrument for universalizing a certain religion must perforce
be an ever expanding state. The Islamic state, whose principal function was to
put God’s law into practice, sought to establish Islam as the dominant reigning
ideology over the entire world. It refused to recognize the coexistence of
non-Muslim communities, except perhaps as subordinate entities, because by its
very nature a universal state tolerates the existence of no other state than
itself. ...Muhammad’s early successors, after Islam became supreme in Arabia,
were determined to embark on a ceaseless war of conquest in the name of Islam.
The jihad was therefore employed as an instrument for both the universalization
of religion and the establishment of an imperial world state.
Islamic scholar Majid Khadduri in his book War and Peace in the
Law of Islam published 1955
As late as November 2003, the Islamic Affairs Department (IAD) of the Saudi embassy in Washington
featured this statement on its website: “The Muslims are required to raise the banner of Jihad in order to make the Word of Allah supreme in this world, to remove all forms of injustice and oppression, and to defend the Muslims. Such a violent and expansionist program is not solely the province of Saudi Wahhabis .
The Pakistani Islamicleader Syed Abul Ala Maududi (1903-1979), who was not a Wahhabi, declared that
non-Muslims have “absolutely no right to seize the reins of power in any part of God’s earth nor to direct the collective affairs of human beings according to their own misconceived doctrines.” If they do, he said, “the believers would be under an obligation to do their utmost to dislodge them from political power
and to make them live in subservience to the Islamic way of life.” Likewise the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood theorist Sayyid Qutb (1906-1966), also a non-Wahhabi, declared: “Islam cannot accept any mixing with Jahiliyyah [the society of unbelievers]. Either Islam will remain, or Jahiliyyah; no half-half situation is possible…. The foremost duty of Islam is to depose Jahiliyyah from the leadership of man, with the intention of raising human beings to that high position which Allah has chosen for him.”
The religion of peace: Qu'ran- Sura's
9:5. Then when the Sacred Months (the 1st, 7th, 11th, and 12th months of the Islamic calendar) have passed, then kill the Mushrikun {unbelievers} wherever you find them, and capture them and besiege
them, and prepare for them each and every ambush. But if they repent and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat {the Islamic ritual prayers}), and give Zakat {alms}, then leave their way free. Verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
8:39. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allah) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allah Alone [in the whole of the world].
But if they cease (worshipping others besides Allah), then certainly, Allah is All-Seer of what they do.
8:67. It is not for a Prophet that he should have prisoners of war (and free them with ransom) until he had made a great slaughter (among his enemies) in the land. You desire the good of this world (i.e. the money of ransom for freeing the captives), but Allah desires (for you) the Hereafter. And Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.
9:29. Fight against those who believe not in Allah, nor in the Last Day, nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islam) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.
9:33. It is He {Allah} Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islam), to make it superior over all religions even though the Mushrikun (polytheists, pagans,
idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah) hate (it).
This is the motivation of hate towards us because our constitution will not allow them to use the Apostolic Invasion like has been used in other countries. The religion is spreading like a cancer into all places where it comes in contact with.
After Libya was silenced as a terrorist base, I am guessing that the extremist were not happy with the leadership. The same was true in ancient times when the "True Believers" killed their own leaders for trying to merge the Islamic culture into mainstream society of the world. Cancer is deadly unless it is totally removed.

And, I constantly wonder at the deaths of moslems in the name of the Christian God. We even had a pope who stated that crossbows were too inhumane a weapon to be used by Christians against Christians, but was appropriate to be used against the moslems.
Our crusades may have been under the guise of freeing Jerusalem, but the barbarity of the Christian Crusaders far exceeded the original behavior of the moslems. And, in fact, it was Christians who broke treaties with Saladin and the Caliphate in Egypt, when the Moslems were willing to keep Jerusalem open to pilgrims of all faiths.
And, the extremist Imams and Ayatollahs, teach this to children as if the Christian atrocities and treaty violations occured in recent history. Plus, we've inherited a lot of crap from the former colonial powers who played both ends from the middle, while exploiting the North African and Arabian peninsula moslems, throughout most of the 20th century.
So, it is curious that so much of the radicalism that was referenced by Larry, was still limited to a small sampling of the more radical Ayatollahs/Imams and applications of the Koran. The moslems I've known, don't care about prosletyzing, by the sword or otherwise, as long as they are left to practice their beliefs in peace and tolerance.
Always more than one side of the debate. Semper Fi to all vets and service people. God Bless and Help America. Da Gunny
Funny how fast this news gets put up, but still not reported is the fact the Obama administration knew the deadly attack (the "speed bump")on our embassy was by al-Qaeda within 24 hours, but sent Susan Rice out to lie to the American public all Sunday long.
This is journalistic malpractice that borders on the criminal. If Bush was at the helm, this scandal would be covered 24/7.
Instead, it's Romney who's in trouble.
Just shut up! That's what was reported to begin with from Lybia.
The Obama administration is not at the whim of news that is broadcast - presumably. If they didn't know that no one on the ground there - which was being reported in several articles that I was reading the day it happened - thought is was a protest gone bad, then the adminstration has ZERO intelligence in the area (and by that I mean the intelligence community - not intellect). Many sources, including now the Lybian President, claim there was no protest in front of the embassy at all, just a coordinated attack. To the administration this cannot be revelation. All reports that you can find of the last week or so say it was coordinated - even in the so-called mainstream media, and that the adminstration is "distancing itself" from its original comments. The movie had nothing to do with what happened by all sources that seem to have first hand knowledge. I do not understand why MSN and other similar media outlets insist on stating that, as they in this article, as it were fact - particularly when on the same news page other articles suggest that it's not true. Worse, I don't know why there isn't more disgust with this approach.
Huh. A muslim died violently in the middle east. Huge news day.
Come on Obama, let's free another country so they can be better off. I'm sure those in Libya, Egypt, and your other projects appreciate you. Plus the poor guy wasn't paid what he was promised. Go figure.
We should have left this one alone.Atleast we knew what we had with Gadhafi. The Obama administration hung these men out to dry!Now do you think anyone in their right mind is going to help the US?
KNOW.seven.eleven.lets.not.get.all.worked.up.about.Ghadaffi.he.is.worm.food...GOOD.!next.IRAN/////////HA
Just another bump in the road. It has not been easy for President Obama to fix all the problems that G.W. Bush (a.k.a. Dufus) left to him. There is hope that during his next term much improvements will be obvious.
O&JOe 12
wakani, are you serious or joking. It's tough to tell. You seriously believe that Obama has simply been fixing problems that Bush created? You seriously do not see any problems that Obama has created at all that have added to the problems rather than helped? Seriously?
LMAO. Hey folks, we have today's winner of "Blame Bush".
Obama has sacrificed the economic health of America. He keep trying to sell large entitlement programs that someone else will pay for. this might play to the ignorant masses but the numbers just don't add up. business are not buying it and there is no growth or jobs. we are going to end up bankrupt just like Europe.
Just another bump in the road? As someone quipped here, the bump in the road was Obama driving over the body of our ambassador!
Killing an ambassador was once an act of war. What ever happened to that? Oh, right, we have an "amorphous" enemy which Obama doesn't want said is ISLAM.
You, like your messiah, sound like one of those folks who always has someone else to blame for failures. Bush inherited more crap from Clinton's 8 years, than Obama has had to cope with. Toxic mortgage loans was a Clinton program forced down the mortgage lender's throats, to ensure the lenders weren't profiling and helping people achieve the American dream of home ownership, even though people could not afford the aspects of home ownership, just beyond a mortgage payment.
Obama has broken so many campaign promises, it's almost impossible to track. Like, he promised to cut back on our foreign aid programs and bring some of that money back to the U.S. I remember he laid out his screening of each foreign aid package to each country and eliminate foreign aid to any country that was not our friend, was abusing or misusing our foreign aid, or violating human rights. His first trip overseas, he pledged another 18 million in foreign aid at the G-8 summit.
Oh yea. Did you hear, Egypt just bought two russian attack submarines....wonder how much of last year's 1.8 billion foreign aid package from Obama, went into the purchase. Or, maybe Bank of America or Household Finance gave the Egyptians a good loan deal?????????????????????
Come on Wakani. Open your eyes and quit thinking with what you sit on. Poor Premier Obama is a poor leader, but terrific at deception and the "poe me" act.
At least Bush wasn't afraid of the words: Terrorist, Acts of War, and inhumane atrocities. Oh yea, Bush didn't spend all his time blaming his screw-ups on Clinton. And, he, at least assumed responsibility for his actions.
Dang, why don't some of these people study history and stop believing everything the media, Jay Carney, Obama and Clinton says as being true.
S/F, Da Gunny
Romney will fix the lying the Democrats have done over the past 20 years!
It was just a spontaneous protest. Next target: that guy in Pankistan who ratted out Bin Laden.
Good riddance to another terrorist ! What goes around comes around ! Murder is murder ! Hopefully his people that raped and murdered Amb. Stevens will meet the same fate ! RIH !!! One less boyfriend for Hillary the witch !
Here is what I do know, the billions and trillions of dollars spent on wars the last 20 years our country could've used that money to feed, clothe and house every single American along with creating millions of jobs with that money for every American but our Administration felt the American people weren't important enough to take care of but people thousands of miles away were more important.
Lets take care of our own problems before inviting to take other countries problems on!
My father once asked me "how do you save a man from drowning if you can't swim yourself"?
America we are struggling to stay afloat ourselves so why are we trying to help others from drowning??
Well put. We, the people, have lost control of our country. Our leaders do not care about our problems as much as they like to be seen as internationally concerned. If they do not become nationally concerned soon we will not survive as a nation.
As a banker friend figured it out, if every tax-paying household were given $500,000., it would still be cheaper than bailing out all the failed, crooked industries, Obama took care of.
People could pay off their mortgages, car payments, credit cards, and have money left over to buy American goods and send their kids to college. If U.S. citizens did that, the economy would be healthier and these companies that deserved to go under would have to reorganize and disclose all their toxic practices.
Just an aside that goes along with Premier Obama's promises to cut foreign aid and then does just the opposite as soon as he gets in office.

Those of you using BOLD PRINT...cut it out. It doesn't make what you're saying any more important than what any of the rest of us have to say. After a while, it just gets darn irritating.
muslims dont care who they kill..family, women and children...
Makes No difference to them....
Watching President Obama respond to world events lately, does anyone notice the AMAZING similarity to Chauncey Gardiner? It seems to me Obama is nothing but a fairly high functioning IDIOT in a well-fitting suit. GOOGLE Chauncey Gardiner if you are not familiar. LOL
Name me one more sitting US President that has won the Nobel Peace Prize? Obama is a statesman, without peer.

For everything I've done for world peace I should have won the Nobel Peace prize instead of Obama.
Please, wakani, tell me what Obama did to earn the prize.
Exactly what did this pretender actually get the nobel peace prize for? answer me that, he has never done nothing in his life but be a communist, your blind and dont see, this man is a failure, if you would like to debate this i would be more than happy, and race isnt an issue, his failures are.
Theodore Roosevelt, Comes to mind.
Theodore Roosevelt won the Nobel Peace Prize for negotiating the Peace between Japan and Russia. Japn trounced the Russians.
Thanks, President Obama is in good company with TR.

If memory serves, didn't Jimmy Carter get one too? (Though many years later.) These two failed presidents have a LOT in common...BOTH got our ambassadors killed in the Middle East due to their incompetence, both brought a great deal of "Hope" (Georgia... along with change), both accomplished nothing in 4 years other than weakening our nation, and both will go down in history as terrible one-term presidents! Obama's Nobel Peace Prize was and is a JOKE. Frankly, him getting it just a few weeks into his presidency merely proves that the Peace Prize has jumped the shark and now means NOTHING.
I have had 2 Professors win both Nobel and Pulitzer prizes... and both got their awards for DECADES of achievement, the same could be said for Carter. When Obama got his he had been President for a few weeks and had served 2/3rd of a term in the Senate, most of it running for President of the World and being referred to as "Senator Present" because he never actually did ANYTHING. Obama got his because he looked good in a $5,000 suit and because he sent chills up the legs of the media. So did Chauncey Gardiner in the movie "Being There"!
Barack Hussein Obama IS Chauncey Gardiner... and we know just about the same amount about his REAL history. Google Chauncey Gardiner and watch some clips on YouTube! LOL
Obama has a lot in common with then Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, of Great Britain. Chamberlain tried appeasement with the Nazis and England was bombed mercilessly, despite his initial attempts at "peace through appeasement". Yep, and Poland was invaded, followed by most of Europe. And, along with the Holocaust, the SS and Gestapo executed pows and non combatants indiscriminately.
Speaking of non-combatants, weren't our embassy personnel on U.S. soil and unarmed when they were murdered. How about all the other embassies of all the other countries we've provided aid to....let's see, give them money, apologize for bad old americans of the past, ask them to play nice and that will appease them. Dang sounds like appeasement or tribute to me.

Capture? Don't know anything about any capture. There was a summary execution so Obama wouldn't have so much competition but no capture that comes to mind.
Serves him right. He deserves it for destroying a veteran leader of his own country.
Was this actually posted by President Obama? ;)
Democracy will never take hold in the middle east. They look at what our democracy put in charge and they don't want any part of it.
Obama has never said a thing that took care of a problem. He's all hat and no cattle. No solutions, no backbone, no nothing. But he can condemn louder than hell to take the idiots out there down a happy road. Follow his strategy and Hitlers. They are hand in hand. This blame everyone and take no responsibility president we have is the devil. He panders to minorities, women, unionists and government workers. Not once does he talk to the entire population. He doesn't give a crap about Americans in general. In fact his attitude says go to hell to 53% of us. He's a two faced bastard ego maniac.
Be Careful Lebster:
If you criticize Premier Obama too much, some liberal might call you a racist, no matter what your racial or ethnic background is. Semper Fi, Da Gunny
The way I see the article is they are handling their own problem. So, let them and we stay out of it.
not to worry, it was just another act by the "peaceful religion" you all know they have great tolerence for anyone that opposes them, ya know, turn the other cheek ? ? ? ? just think how great the earth will be when the leftist liberals allow them to take over ! ! ! ! i cant wait ! ! ! ! ! !!
On Tuesday in the capital Tripoli, several hundred protesters gathered outside the headquarters of the National Congress to demand that the government avenge Shaaban's death
