Unfortunately, the only way that Israel could ever put a complete stop to this would be to completely level Gaza, and they are not about to do that. No one said the US is "mandated" to protect Israel "at all costs" or to do anything else for that matter. The US is not forced to do anything it does not want to do. They aren't expanding, quite the opposite, over the years they have conceded lands that were historically theirs to try to keep peace. As usual, your "proof" consists of quoting people no one ever heard of as if their word is the law.

Not that it matters in this case. I am well aware that Israelis do not feel like they won that war. They failed to rescue two kidnapped soldiers and they lost almost 200 people in the process, while fighting such an inferior foe, they should have been able to get it done with no casualties.

So, is that what makes it a great victory for the Lebanese? Half the country is in ruins, thousands are dead, but Israelis are upset and that makes it all worthwhile.

If that's your idea of victory, Iran might not disappoint you yet. If they take out even just a couple dozen Israelis, that will be already enough to upset the rest. So, even if they loose a couple million Iranians in the process, their government and you will feel like it's a great victory.

If that's how it works for you, by all means, enjoy.

Admittedly, Israel destroyed much of Lebanon's infrustructure with their air attacks, but when fighting on the ground occurred, the IDF was soundly defeated by a much smaller force.

The idea that the IDF is a superior fighting force is a myth. Israel is a country that only gets by because of America's donations of military hardware, especially airplanes.

It only proves my point that Israel attacks the weak and defenseless. Iran can and will fight back, if Israel ever gets the balls to try an attack (they won't). It might be Israeli cities in ruins, as well as Iranian cities. If Israel uses nukes, the fallout could get Russia involved, which would make it curtains for Israel.

Israel attacks those who threaten them, weak or strong. If Lebanese had not kidnapped those two soldiers their cities would not be in ruins, and all those who were killed, would be still alive.

Now, it's the same for Iran. If they stop pushing, they wont be attacked, but if they keep pushing, they will suffer the consequences.

And don't expect Russia to come to Iran's rescue. For your information, I grew up in Russia and still have plenty of friends there, so I know for a fact that there is not pro-Iranian sentiment there. 20% of Israelis speak Russian, you might see them as evil joooose, but to many Russians they are relatives, childhood friends, or former neighbors.
