Subscribe to RSSADEN, Yemen - At least 13 soldiers and 13 suspected al-Qaida militants were killed in an attack on an army base in the southern province of Abyan on Friday, medical and military sources said.
Two militants wearing army uniforms drove an explosives-laden car into the military base, killing themselves and 10 soldiers and injuring 15 other soldiers, a military official said.
Moments later, a group of militants attacked the base from the sea and 11 more militants and three soldiers were killed in the fighting that followed.

Violence has intensified in Yemen in recent weeks. The United States, wary of the growing power of al-Qaida, has stepped up drone strikes on suspected militant positions and militants have increased attacks on army targets.

NBC has reported that Al Qaida was folded its tent, was defeated in Yemen and "folding" their tent for departure out of AO. All of the news reports stated that because the administration said so.
One of Murphy's Laws of Combat - "one you defeat an enemy in battle and secure an area of operations, make sure you inform the enemy of that".
Now it seems that reports are quite inaccurate.

The latest- a day before there was a drone attack in Abyan province Jaar town killing 7 Al Qaeda terrorists including the local leader. The terrorist attack today at the Yemeni Army's 115th Brigade in Shaqra Base in Abyan Province (35 km south of Abyan capital) - 4 (four)terrorists dressed in army unforms with explosives laden suicide belts traveling in a military vehicle passed through several checkpoints. Upon reaching Shaqra Base gates- 2 soldiers killed there- the vehicle continued inside- then 3 out of the 4 terrorists exited the vehicle and 1 remaining inside blew himself up+ killing and injuring several army soldiers- soldiers finally shot 2 terrorists dead-explosions- 1 terrorist managed to escape by foot- there is a manhunt for him. There were 4 terrorists in army uniforms- no attack from sea. It is very easy for Al Qaeda terrorists to don real uniforms- whether in Yemen-Afghanistan-or elsewhere- also command military vehicles.

I am a retired Marine of 28 years and what I hear from some in not standing with the President or the Country, rather giving what is equivalent to aid and comfort to this nations enemies is despicable. Well thank you for your service, I to am retired military and find it a bit out of line to propose that if you do not stand in line with the President that you are a Traitor. Our President has intel that Alqida is alive and strong BUT yet chooses to tell the United States that the had of the snake is dead as if Alqida is dead. He lets political decisions choose his course. A True President and Commander and Chief will do what is needed for the boots on the ground regardless if it is the popular choice. The world we live in because of technoligy and advances in science is so (small) close that most anyone can go anywhere in a day if they want. Governments can simply shoot missles and hit their targets from hundreds or even thousands of miles away within minutes or hours.

Humans are painting their way into the corners of the box and get their backs against the walls inside the box having to face each others differences and wind up hating each other because the don't want to live the way the other one lives when their back is up against the wall of the box which they built for themselves. The worlds IS round. When will we learn to go round and round with the world and enjoy and respect each other and the world for what it is. (Our home to live) (Not the home we own) There are so many who live on this earth who Kill or bring harm to another (JUST) because we can doesn't make sense to me.
I do not support going to war over anything. I DO NOT BELIEVE IN JUST WARS. When I was thinking about joining the military and going to Vietnam I ask my Father and Grand Father about the wars of which they both served. They were enlisted men. I asked them why they went in to fight. There answer kind of suprised me and it took awhile for me to get it. They both said SO YOU WOULD NOT HAVE TO. War is terrible.
I did not enlist because of their comment. I felt they fought for me so I would never have to fight and I wasn't even born yet when they were fighting. I was fortunite I was not drafted and the Vietnam war ended.
I believe war can be prevented and there is a better way to live and die. For the people who do serve our United Staes military I want to thank them and give all my respect. Without them who knows how the world would be.
I think mostly the leaders of the world can govern it's own countrys. Where I see mostly the problem and almost every country faces the same issue is the REBEL and Terrorist actions taken by a few who want the power and influence to control others and change destiny.
That Destiny. I think is NOT to live in peace and do things for change of betterment in UNPEACEFUL ways.
