GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands -- Organizers of an investment conference in the Cayman Islands have been forbidden from disclosing any details about a speech by former President George W. Bush in the offshore financial haven, an event spokesman said Thursday.
The keynote speech by the former president was "totally closed to all journalists," and conference organizers were banned from discussing any aspect of it even in general terms, spokesman Dan Kneipp said.
"We've got a complete blackout on discussing the Bush details," Kneipp told The Associated Press.
In an exclusive interview with NBC's Matt Lauer, the former President George W. Bush spoke frankly about alcohol abuse and his decision to quit drinking.
The restrictions were imposed by the former president's staff, he said. Bush was scheduled to speak Thursday evening at The Ritz-Carlton on Grand Cayman Island.
"It's totally their decision," Kneipp said of the decision to close the event to the media.
According to the Cayman Alternative Investment Summit website, Bush was to "offer his thoughts on eight years in the Oval Office, the challenges facing our nation in the 21st century, the power of freedom, and the role of faith."
Members of the Bush family, including George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, are featured in a video presentation at the Republican National Convention.
Sponsors of the conference include KPMG, a company that provides tax advisory services, and Deutsche Bank. It costs $4,000 to attend and other speakers include billionaire Richard Branson.

Cayman Islands officials are proud of the British territory's role as an offshore finance center. But members of the U.S. Congress and advocates for changes in tax laws have accused corporations and wealthy individuals of using so-called financial havens to improperly avoid taxes.

(1) no coverup but we are not going to allow the ONLY newsmedia reporting the event to be at the press conference (to ask questions),WHAT THE HELL!
(2)The SECOND drone took off from Sigonell, Italy (the same base the C130 gun ships are at...(The Adm says "they could not have gotten there in time...the second drone disproves that crap)
(3) while the "2" drones were unarmed, there were other drones closer than the second that WERE armed(looking for weapons..I think American lives would have been deemed more impt at the crucial moments being discussed) more important. It is again unbelievable that the Obama team thinks we are all that stupid. when the truth keeps slapping the American public in the face.

Thursday, the CIA excluded Fox News from a briefing for a small group of reporters in which they provided a timeline from the night of the attack in which they explain that at 5:15 a.m. (7 hrs and 28 minutes after the attack on the consulate began) five mortars are fired at the annex, three of them striking the roof and killing Woods and Doherty.
The CIA told the Washington Post's David Ignatius that "the rooftop defenders never 'laser the mortars' as has been reported," a reference to an earlier Fox News report. The CIA added the "defenders have focused their laser sights earlier on several Libyan attackers, as warnings not to fire."
The U.S. military says that two unarmed Predators were overhead Benghazi that night and providing one stream of video back to Washington beginning at 11:11 p.m. (1 hr and 24 minutes) after the attack began.
U.S. military sources say that the second Predator was not armed even though it took off from Sigonella Air Base in Sicily after the attack began to provide back up to the first Predator which was at the end of its orbit and running low on fuel. US commanders say that in reference to the drones positioned at Sigonella: "Not all aircraft are armed. Ours are not."
According to military sources, Libyan authorities have not given the U.S. military permission to fly armed drones over populated areas like Benghazi. However, for some time the unmanned aerial drones that have been watching Libya's chemical weapons sites did have permission to be armed.

I want to know THE PURPOSE OF THIS MEETING. Something stinks if what is discussed has to be discussed in SECRECY. There's got to be a Watergate type reporter out there whose curiosity is killing them. Deep Throat is just waiting for that reporter to contact him. The fact there was a BLACKOUT indicates strongly that what was said/discussed should become publicly knowledge. The only time you try to hide something is if you're up to no good. Bush has been up to no good in the past so this is just a continuim in my mind. My concern is whether or not what Bush and those other billionaires in the Cayman Islands were up to will bring harm to the United States in any way.
Oh My God! He is the LAST person who should be lecturing about financial investments.
When we all start paying thousands of dollars more each year for obamacare, lets see how happy everyone will be. I think I'm going to claim Democrat, quit my job, and wait for the state to pay for everything.
