Dominican cops arrest three over killing of ex-Yankees pitcher

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic - Police in the Dominican Republic said on Saturday they have arrested three suspects in the killing of former New York Yankees pitcher Pascual Perez during a robbery at his home last week, while two others remained at large.

General Maximo Aybar, the chief of the police force's criminal investigations division, said one of the three suspects had confessed to killing Perez, who was found beaten to death last Thursday at his home near Santo Domingo.

Aybar said the three suspects had confessed to conspiring to rob Perez of his Major League Baseball pension, which he received at the end of each month. He said two other suspects were being sought, and that no formal charges had been filed.

During his career, Perez was an All-Star with the Atlanta Braves in 1983 and also pitched for the Montreal Expos, Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Yankees.

While pitching for the Expos on August 19, 1982, Perez famously missed a start while circling Interstate 285 in search of Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. Two of his brothers, Melido and Carlos, also pitched in the big leagues, as did a cousin, Yorkis.

Equal opportunity to get ahead as opposed to the Democrat liars that give lip service to minorities all the while poverty, lower standard of living and double digit unemployment is the norm. Some day they (WE)) will realized that they have been duped and the joke is on all of us. Funny how Democrats always get rich in office as career politicians. While their constituents are left holding the bag.

That's terrible...media fanaticism at its best. He's an all-star with the Braves, yet the headline is that an ex-Yankees pitcher was killed. I know that people like to read stories about bad things happening to the Yankees, but come on now....

It's a shame whats happening in our world these days. Killing, more killing,I'm totally disgusted . I've had to arm myself in my home,& on the road. I'm a former Marine and I've seen first had what weapons do. I thought after my service days were over I'd never have to arm myself again, but I was wrong. What needs to be done w/ these savages is send them to the war zone,or ice them sooner, not later. It's just gotten out of hand,we the people need to act and stop being so complacent, until it happens to u!!! These Sons of B's deserve no rights, they gave it up when they committed their crime,so away w/ these embalming smoking Mother Fkers!!!

They don't have to kill him for money. Do what most Dominicans do to get money. Go to Puerto Rico and get a fake Puerto Rico birth certificate. Use it to get into the US and go on to collect welfare, SSI, SSDI and other disability.
