ISTANBUL — An autopsy on the exhumed body late President Turgut Ozal, who led Turkey out of military rule in the 1980s, has revealed evidence of poisoning, a Turkish newspaper reported Monday.
There had long been rumors that Ozal, who died of heart failure in 1993 at the age of 65, was murdered by militants of the "deep state" — a shadowy nationalist strain within the Turkish establishment of the day. He had angered some with his efforts to end the Kurdish conflict and survived an assassination bid in 1988.
His body, dug up last month on the orders of prosecutors investigating suspicions of foul play in his death, contained the banned insecticide DDT and the related compound DDE at ten times the normal level, Today's Zaman cited sources from the state Forensic Medicine Institute as saying.

"Ozal was most likely poisoned with four separate substances," the paper reported the sources as saying, also naming the toxic metal cadmium and the radioactive elements americium and polonium as substances found in Ozal's remains.
Forensic institute officials declined to comment.
Dominant figure in Turkish politics in 1980s
Ozal, whose economic reforms easing the grip of the state on business helped shape modern Turkey, was in poor health. After undergoing a triple heart bypass operation in the United States in 1987, he kept up a grueling schedule and remained overweight until he died.
His moves to end a Kurdish insurgency and create a Turkic union with central Asian states have been cited as motives for would-be enemies in "deep state," in which security establishment figures and criminal elements colluded.
It was Turkey's military leaders who appointed him as a minister after a period of military rule following a 1980 coup.
He went on to dominate Turkish politics as prime minister from 1983 to 1989. Parliament then elected him president, but those close to him believe his reform efforts displeased some in the security establishment.
While prime minister, Ozal survived an assassination attempt by a right-wing gunman in 1988 when he was shot at a party congress, injuring a finger.

Frequent coups
Turkish political history has been littered with military coups, alleged anti-government plots and extra-judicial killings. A court is currently trying hundreds of people suspected of links to a nationalist underground network known as "Ergenekon" accused of plotting to overthrow the government.
A media report at the start of November said Ozal's autopsy had revealed high levels of the pesticide strychnine, but the ATK subsequently denied the report.
The head of the Forensic Medicine Institute has said it aims to complete its work in December and that its report would be handed over to prosecutors.

News get reported very,very late in US of A- the trailblazer of instant news, This was old news already on November 24,2012. According to authorities- Pres. Turgut Ozol was poisoned with POLONIUM,americum,cadmium (radioactive chemicals) and in such amounts of DDT which caused his death. Ozol died in 1993 and DDT was last available in 1980.

These days, it appears that many minds, especially of Sunni ones, are too much poisoned with high Salaffi and Wahhabi heroin dosages!
As their Allah is furious of high heroin addiction, Muslims are cleaning each other of "infidels."
Most Turks are Sufi Muslims. Check out Sufism, its a mystical tolerant strand of Islam. Arafat was a Shiite and not a Sunni. And Salafi/Wahabi are a SUBSECT of Sunni Islam.
Another tidbit, most Muslims aren't even Arabs. They are South East Asians.

Most followers of Islamic cult have only done stealing, looting, telling lies, giving excuses, raping, kidnapping, killing and doing genocides.
Contributions of most Muslims to a place, society and nations are negative. They sneak in to prosperous places and then tear them to pieces.
Sufis, love and dancers, are another fooling version of Islam. Not many trust them either.
Most of the Muslims belonging to all brands in Muslim nations are fighting jihad on whose Allah is greater.
It is better if Muslims in non-Muslims go to those Muslim nations and fight Allah's battle.
Or else Allah will be declaring them as infidels, fit for jihad.
Lastly, most know that a good Muslim is a **** one.
The DDT is irrelevant and I'm sure they only included it because the reporter recognized it and thought it mattered. DDT has not been shown to be hazardous to humans and is NOT why it was banned. The Americium and Polonium would be the culprits as those are both man made and unless he was eating smoke detectors and nuclear weapon triggers, should not be in anyone's system.

There is a term known as "secret combinations" which means to exchange life for money, wealth or power. It has been around practically forever.With ancient records listing how some civilizations have fallen victim to such groups. Or if one reads the Bible, since Cain slew Abel to get his flocks. After making a deal with the Devil he got the title Master Mahan or Keeper of a great secret.
So these groups have existed practically everywhere which will kill people to stay in control and through bribes determine the fate of nations.Operating behind the scenes, buying up people, lands and murdering those who would oppose them. Only when a society hunts them down and eliminates such secret groups does it have a real chance to determine its fate.
Good luck finding the individuals.For they have sworn their very lives to secrecy with a blood oath, that any who betray, will lose their lives or their families. Modern technology just makes things that much easier.How awful some people represent the lowest of human behaviors. It just goes to show, there will always to some bad apples to counter those who do some of the greatest good.The rest of us fall somewhere in between.
Such are the lands known as Islamic. They will never have any lasting peace. All they know is conflict and killing. They seem to be genetically intolerant of anything that is different from themselves. Alawite, hate Shia that hate Sunni and so it goes. Projecting any common sense on these people or cultures is a lost cause.
Turkey is a militantly (until very recently) secular government. The women are not allowed to wear headscarves in public institutions even if they want to. Ataturk, the founder of Modern Turkey felt religion should stay out of politics. They have been mostly a military junta for years and this guy helped transition to a democracy. If anyone is to blame, its not religious hardliners, its military loyalists.
All those poisons were readily available from the KGB, and Russia was very helpful when terrorist operatives wanted to rid themselves of any public figure the KGB did not also like. You also can't rule out ricin.
