Federal authorities inspect the site of the plane crash in El Tejote locality, Nuevo Leon State, Mexico, where Mexican-American singer Jenni Rivera along with six other people died as they were travelling from Monterrey, in northern Mexico, to Mexico City.

Updated 11:05 p.m. ET: Mexican-American singer Jenni Rivera died in a plane crash Saturday night, her father and brother confirmed on Telemundo.

"She never gave up and she was good to everyone," said her father, Pedro, about his daughter’s legacy outside of his home in Lakewood, Calif.

The wreckage of the plane was found Sunday in northern Mexico with no apparent survivors, authorities said.

The wreckage was found in the Ejido La Colorada, Municipality of Nuevo Leon. Gerardo Ruiz Esparza, secretary of communications and transport, said that the plane was not recognizable, but the evidence suggested it was the aircraft carrying the singer, Telemundo reported.

NBC Latino obituary: Jenni River dies at 43

Jim Urquhart / Reuters file

Singer Jenni Rivera, seen here during the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, in January, was aboard a plane that went missing shortly after leaving the northern Mexican city of Monterrey early Sunday.

Officials said Rivera's Learjet went off the radar about 62 miles from Monterrey after taking off at 3:15 a.m. local time.

The National Transportation Safety Board dispatched investigators to assist the government of Mexico in its investigation of the crash.

Rivera was heading for the city of Toluca in central Mexico after a concert in Monterrey on Saturday night. The singer, two pilots and four other passengers were aboard, Mexican officials said.

Jorge Domene, spokesman for Nuevo Leon's government told Milenio television that civilian agency helicopters flew over the state searching for the plane. The missing included her publicist, lawyer, makeup artist and the flight crew, the ministry of transportation and communication said in a statement.

In a photo posted on her Twitter account on Friday, Jenni Rivera can be seen referencing her concert in Monterrey. In the photo she is seen holding up a sign with the words, "Nos Vemos este 7 en Colima, 8-en Monterrey. I love you!"  Translation: "See you this 7th in Colima, 8 in Monterrey."

Born in Long Beach, Calif., to Mexican immigrant parents, Rivera has sold some 15 million records in her career and won several awards and Grammy nominations, her website said.

The 43-year-old mother of five is renowned as an exponent of the Nortena and banda regional musical styles.

Jenni Rivera's driving license is seen of the ground at the crash site where a plane allegedly carrying Rivera crashed near Iturbide, Mexico, Dec. 9.

The so-called "Diva of the Banda" recently won two Billboard Mexican Music Awards: Female Artist of the Year and Banda Album of the Year for "Joyas prestadas: Banda." Her famous songs include "La Gran Senora" and "De Contrabando."

The singer, businesswoman and actress appeared in the movie "Filly Brown," as the incarcerated mother of Filly Brown, and has her own reality shows including "I Love Jenni" and "Jenni Rivera Presents: Chiquis and Raq-C" and her daughter's "Chiquis `n Control."

Rivera had given a concert before thousands of fans in Monterrey on Saturday night. After the concert she gave a press conference during which she spoke of her emotional state following her recent divorce from baseball player Esteban Loaiza.

"I can't get caught up in the negative because that destroys you. Perhaps trying to move away from my problems and focus on the positive is the best I can do. I am a woman like any other and ugly things happen to me like any other women," she said Saturday night, according to The Associated Press. "The number of times I have fallen down is the number of times I have gotten up."

A plane carrying Jenni Rivera, a popular singer from California, went missing in Mexico Saturday night. The 43-year-old mother of five is renowned for Nortena and banda music. NBC's Miguel Almaguer reports.

The mother and grandmother had announced in October that she was divorcing Loaiza after two years of marriage. It was her third marriage.

Rivera is the sister of Mexican singer Lupillo Rivera.

Celebrities tweeted about Rivera's disappearance.

"OMG! Just heard about @jennirivera Praying for her and her family during this difficult & uncertain time!" Gloria Estefan tweeted.

Uh, NBC has an affirmative action policy on entertainer news. Like we're all supposed to give a sh!t.

Because people who don't have their heads up FOX New's *ss have heard of her, value her highly and do give a @!$%#. So why don't you wander off to your little girl's tea party with Bill O and Limbaugh and let us adults here talk about something we care about.

I wouldn't necessarily say that all honkeys are evil....but, I think I can safely say that most rednecks are narrow minded and stupid, as proven on these blog sites over and over. I have never heard of this woman before either, but an untimely death is nothing to laugh or sneer at....she certainly did nothing to deserve the contempt being shown by a few idiots on this site.

Which is, by the way Italian. A vibrant entertainer goes missing and all the losers in life cannot wait to get their yayas off by making wildly inappropriate comments. Here's hoping against the odds that the plane is found and there are survivors. There is a lot of mountainous terrain along the route the plane would have been flying, so the chances are not good.

REBUS, as a favor, because the fun is lost in translation, and more fun back again:

Translated again, because it gets better and better:

Making her a great singer and mother of four kids doesn't make her great. Ask anyone who lives in Detroit. Sounds like she has a greater talent than singing. Ask anyone in Detroit (sorry for the redundancy).

It's even much less important what religion she, or you, are. But, you being a Mormon, your god can beat up everyone's god.

                        Ask anyone.

It's always considered missing when they don't want to admit that it either crashed into the side of a mountain or was shot down. Missing just sounds more hopeful.

Missing is when the aircraft has disappeared from RADAR, has not arrived at the destination listed on the filed flight plan, and has not contacted any airspace controllers.

The Internet, since its mainstream beginnings, has always attracted trolls and angry people who have social flaws and other issues. They come from everywhere around the world, not just the U.S. Best just to ignore, if they offend.

Is it o.k for you to hate? You say it doesnt matter, yet you continue with your obvious hate of white people.

Seems to matter much to you. Unless you are just a troll.

Do you not see the hypocrisy here?

THEN MOVE YOUR WHITE ASS OUT OF THE Country!!! go back to EUROPE!!!!!

You see you seem more obsessed with color than most. Why does it have to be "white ass"? This proves my point you are more racist than those you rail against.

There were seven (7) others onboard the plane. Aviation authorities lost contact with the plane after 10 minutes of takeoff. Jenni Rivera born and raised in California was only 43 yrs old. Her interpretation of Mexican music of nortena and banda will remind one and all of her talent. Condolences -the Rivera Family and families of others persihed in the plane crash. This is so sad. She was in her prime with family, she has children who are in grief now. Truly, when anyone dies, to those who care, who are friends, family or even those who enjoyed the fine gift of this special one's talents from afar...have been touched by her spirit and felt some sadness at the loss of this good person who gave of herself to others, especially if suddenly being sacrificed in a sudden accident or violent ending which has cut short her lifespan.

This lady shined some light out to others in sharing her love of art, music and culture and she was able to make a living for herself and family in doing so. This must be respected. Why in the name of life, do those who are the peacemakers, messengers and healers have to so often be the ones who die so tragically when those who are evil are free to run around doing stupid and mean things to others and continue to get away with it? This is a very tragic event. How can people be so calloused and cold in such rude remarks? If it were you how would you feel? Remember the golden rule?

One wonders that there can be so many obnoxious and stupid comments, well, all will get closed down as inflammatory and the dishonor of others will get trolls that appear here nowhere but banned.

Our respectful condolences to the Rivera family and to the families of the others on the flight. One last thing, not much, but I had a friend who died mountain climbing many years ago. It was her favorite sport and she absolutely loved it, would never dream of stopping, always going for the next peak. I never forgot what was said at her funeral by her family who loved her so much... that if she had to go, at least she went while doing what she loved best. I will light a candle to Our Lady of Guadalupe for her tonight and suggest that other sisters in spirit do the same. Let there be Peace and Love as Jenni would want, for this fine mother in sharing her joy and music, was simply, as a performing artist, trying to make this world a little better of a place for those she loved.

Do you even have a concept of what media reports on? Would you like to hear an obituary for every single human that died each day? They report on artists and celebrities because they are known and loved by many. If you don't care about this musician, why rant and rave and disrespect her memory here? If you can't say anything nice, shut the fck up.

Very sad. I hope the family finds peace. Too many young stars have died in plane crashes over the years. Charter air services companies don't have to abide by many of the strict regulations (or don't) that the larger airlines do. I'm not sure what Mexico's FARs require. Very likely officials look the other way if money is transferred.

o.o. it is sad when ANYONE dies too young. But, this is a thread about Jenni Rivera's death. Which is why that is what people are talking about.

As a former aviator, Nissan, you should know better...Unless you don't know what the phrase mutual support is? I wonder if you were that EP-3 pilot that landed their aircraft in China instead of splashing it in the South China Sea after that mid-air mishap. If so, you are a disgrace to the uniform and the National Security that was entrusted to you on that aircraft.

You want to be a Liberal hypocrite, be my guest; you reap what you sow. Thanks for standing up and bleating like the sheep that you are...

Go ahead; be the little girl in my default pic...

All I heard was "waa waa waa American, waa waa waa Taliban, waa waa waa Constitution" Enough said. NEXT!

o.o maybe you should do some research on this lady. She hasn't been on a battle field, but she sure has done alot of charity work and has donated a lot of money to children cancer research. She might not be a war veteran, but she sure is a hero on my book.

o.o. how about taking your thoughts to the thread about the Navy SEAL rather than bringing it here?

For all you self-righteous @!$%#s... Blah blah blah....Keep in mind while you mourn for the loss of this singer... Blah, blah, blah.... an American SEAL lost his life .....

This is not the Navy Seal Thread (God Bless the Navy Seals).... I'm sorry you made a mistake and are on the wrong one.

If you use the search engine you can find where you should be in a hospital on meds in the correct thread about the Navy Seal.

RIP Jenni - you were the best!

For the death of a beautiful woman, with her talent and loving family, these are without a doubt the worst and disrespectful bunch of posts I've ever read on the Vine. I worry for us as a society. Maybe the Mayans are right.

Condolences to her family and friends. Travelling is one of the risks of being an entertainer. Very sad.
