US anti-virus software pioneer John McAfee is transferred to the Aurora international airport in Guatemala City, Dec. 12, 2012.

Guatemalan immigration officials escorted McAfee, 67, to the Guatemala City airport, where he boarded a flight to Miami.

"I'm free, I'm going to America," he said.

John McAfee hospitalized in Guatemala due to heart attacks, lawyer says

McAfee is wanted for questioning in Belize over the murder of a neighbor. He had been held for a week by immigration officials in Guatemala, where he surfaced after evading Belizean officials for nearly a month.

McAfee -- famous for the anti-virus software that still bears his name -- crossed into Guatemala with his 20-year-old girlfriend to evade authorities in Belize, who want to quiz him as "a person of interest" about the killing of fellow American Gregory Faull.

One of Silicon Valley's first entrepreneurs to build an Internet fortune, McAfee made millions of dollars through antivirus software.

McAfee's behavior has been increasingly erratic in recent years but there is no international arrest warrant for him. Police in Belize say he is not a prime suspect.

The Associated Press and Reuters contributed to this report.

Founder of McAfee security software John McAfee emerged from hiding in Guatemala where he plans to seek asylum. McAfee claims he is being persecuted by police in Belize where he is considered a person of interest in the killing of another American.

He will be arrested once in the US for the murder of the American in Belize!

Not likely - The US would have no jurisdiction to prosecute the crime and Belize has not issued any warrants for McAfee. Believe it or not, the US does not have the right to try and prosecute every person who kills an American regardless of where the crime occurs. Unless some significant element of the crime or its planing occurred in the US, the US has no jurisdiction. US law enforcement may have some questions for him in a few other areas, but they certainly are not going to arrest him for this murder.

Ha! He couldn't stomach the possibility of spending the rest of his life in jail in Belize, huh?

He's a "job creator", so the rules won't apply to him.

Why don't you journalists ask the hard question: "What is the age of the youngest girl you had sex with in Belize, Mr. McAfee?"

McAfee, 67, kidnapped a 20-year old girl and transported her across an international border to have his way with her in the hotel of a luxury resort. McAfee brags about the other children he has sex with, going as far as to post pictures on his website of one of the 17-year old girls he enticed to live with him whom he jokingly calls "Time-share:"

Who is McAfee? McAfee is a pedophile.

Why don't you reporters ask the hard question: "Mr. McAfee, when was the last time you smuggled or sold illegal drugs?"

McAfee goes as far as to offer advice on his website to other drug smugglers on the basis of his experience smuggling drugs through central America. Prior to fleeing Belize, McAfee maintained a wharf, coincidentally located directly on a path favored by maritime drug smugglers. Here is a picture of it:

Who is McAfee? McAfee is a drug dealer.

Why don't you ask the hard question, "Mr. McAfee, what is the MDPV-derived designer drug you developed and distributed as 'SPT'"?

McAfee developed a new "designer mickey" which didn't just knock the girls out, it made them horny. Synopsis: McAfee documented his research on-line here: McAfee describes how one girl he drugged was so strongly affected by his "MDPV Tan" drug that she immediately had sex with his dog.

Who is McAfee? McAfee is a drug manufacturer.

Please ask the question, "What is the state of the wrongful death suit against you, Mr. McAfee?"

Mr. McAfee dabbled at building ultralight aircraft. His design allegedly killed and Robert Gilson and Joel Bitow. A wrongful death suit resulted: McAfee fled to Belize and moved his money there to shield it from the US courts.

Who is McAfee? McAfee is a criminal who fled the US justice system.

Serious journalists, please ask: "Mr. McAfee, how much US tax have you paid since fleeing to Belize?" It is no accident that hiding his assets offshore also enables him to "avoid" taxes:

Who is McAfee? McAfee is a tax cheat.

Please ask the hard question: "Have you ever killed anyone, Mr. McAfee?"

McAfee fled the jurisdiction to avoid questioning in the murder of his neighbor, Gregory Faull. By his own admission McAfee had motive and opportunity.

Who is McAfee? McAfee is a fugitive.

Honorable representatives of the government of Belize: Certainly your country has problems. What country does not? But this is not the first time Mr. McAfee has focused the spotlight elsewhere to solve his problems: Please do not allow this charismatic evil genius to distract you from pursuing the investigation of the murder of Mr. Faull to its logical conclusion. Only because it is a convenient distraction for him, McAfee has harmed everyone in Belize by distributing malicious statements on the internet which have caused serious damage to your tourist trade. He openly brags about telling any lie which amuses him. What will he do to save himself? McAfee is doing the things of which he accuses everyone else. McAfee even abuses his supporters; he often changes the archival "history" he maintains in his blog to make himself look better. He has tricked fools into paying to make a film about him. Clearly McAfee has demonstrated his ability to create a maelstrom of sound and fury, but people are catching on that he is a crook and there is another side to this story. You cannot allow him to win. To reclaim the honorable reputation of Belize you must show that, no matter the cost, Belize will pursue justice for Gregory Faull. That will give tourists more confidence in your legal system. Do not be intimidated by McAfee's tactics! Please file for the extradition of John Elganso McAfee back to Belize for questioning about the murder of Gregory Faull, or any one of the other numerous crimes of which he is guilty.

Who is McAfee? McAfee is a liar.

Age 16 is the age you are considered an adult in Belize. You owe Mr McAfee and apology.

Age 16 is still the age of consent in a number of states and countries. Some countries even have age 15 as the age of consent.

A 67 year old sharpei with a 20 year old wife... anyone else think that is wrong? Who is playing who in this paranoia fueled relationship? The old druggie or the young gold digger.

I wonder much he had to pay for his temporary freedom? The FBI will investigate his neighbors death and if the evidence hasn't been too degraded, they can get a fix on what occurred. It sounds like this man is about ready to self destruct, the accusations of all manner of misbehavior, crime, etc. have to be taking a huge toll on him. I live a bit south of of Belize and have seen what happens to men like him acting as the ugly American.

The FBI will investigate his neighbors death....

Why would they? They have no jurisdiction in Belize.

In Belize the age of consent is 16... therefore, having a 17 year old girlfriend is not illegal, (and certainly not pedophilia, which is molesting children below the age of puberty...) and if there was any actual EVIDENCE to implicate McAfee in Fuall's murder... we would have heard about it by now... John McAfee would be a suspect... he's not, just a person of interest, the police merely want to question him... if the US DID send some investigators to Belize... they have no jurisdiction, but they DO have equipment and forensic capabilities far above that of Belize.

Since this scumbag left the USA to avoid paying taxes, he should not be allowed to return to the USA unless he is willing to provide an entire accounting of his finances and pay back taxes with penalties and interest for the entire time he was gone. This should apply to anyone who leaves the USA or "hides" money in financial institutions outside the USA in order to keep from paying taxes. It's form of tax evasion, therefore they should be treated as a tax evader!
