Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai had harsh words for the U.S. during an exclusive interview with NBC's Atia Abawi.
KABUL, Afghanistan — Nabilla Achmadi should be a poster child for the United States intervention in Afghanistan: She attends high school and is a member of the the country’s cricket team, both of which would have been unthinkable under the Taliban.
Despite this, she has decidedly mixed view of the foreign soldiers in her country.
"It is time for America to go," she told NBC News, then added: "But after they do, the Taliban will recapture Afghanistan and their cruel rule will begin again, so maybe the U.S. should stay here."
Meet Afghanistan's 1st female rapper
What’s the first thing she feared after a US pullout? "That [as a woman] I won’t be able to play cricket again!"
Nabilla’s attitude speaks for many in Afghanistan who are weary of war and foreign soldiers’ boots on their land. But on the other hand, the specter of life under the emboldened and ultra-conservative Taliban and without the millions in foreign aid haunts them. These competing emotions will hang over this week’s crucial one-on-one meeting between Presidents Barack Obama and Hamid Karzai in Washington.
As Taliban regroup, victims battle for 'free' Afghanistan
Amid heightened tensions between the two countries, Obama and Karzai are set to discuss the future beyond 2014, when most foreign troops are set to withdraw from Afghanistan.
President Obama will host Karzai and his delegation at the White House for bilateral meetings on Friday, the White House press office annunced on Monday, adding that the president "looks forward to welcoming the Afghan delegation to Washington, and discussing our continued transition in Afghanistan, and our shared vision of an enduring partnership between the United States and Afghanistan."
"The stability of Afghanistan, of the entire region and even the national security of the United States depends very much on (the Obama-Karzai) relationship," said Omar Sharifi, director of the American Center for Afghanistan Studies. "If Afghanistan loses or damages its relationship with the U.S., the only ones who will benefit will be those responsible for 9/11 and who want our destruction."
Strained relationship
Despite more than a decade as allies — and a cost to America of more than 2,000 lives and $600 billion in treasure — U.S.-Afghan relations have not been this strained since the 2001 toppling of the Taliban.
In an interview last month with NBC News’ Atia Abawi, Karzai sharply criticized the United States, blaming American and NATO forces for some of the growing insecurity in his country.
EXCLUSIVE: US, NATO behind 'insecurity' in Afghanistan, Karzai says
Obama and Karzai will set out to put some meat on the bones of a strategic partnership they agreed to last year. At the time, they committed to an American presence in Afghanistan for at least 10 years beyond 2014.
At the top of the list - according to a Pentagon spokesman — is deciding how many American troops will remain. According to a recent Wall Street Journal article, Obama is considering whether to keep a brigade of about 3,000 troops focused largely on hunting down al-Qaida and other militants, or going to a maximum of about 20,000 U.S. forces that would look after counter-terrorism and the training up Afghan soldiers.
Obama is reportedly leaning towards a lighter footprint and a mission focused on killing or capturing terrorists. According to some Afghan analysts, Karzai prefers the maximum option because more American trainers would likely mean better Afghan recruits. It would also take some of the glare off of American special forces and their despised intrusions on Afghan homes and civilians during controversial night raids.
The presidents will also have to grapple with how fast the remaining 68,000 American troops still in Afghanistan will be drawn-down before 2014. Again, Obama reportedly wants to move faster than his generals. Karzai, meanwhile, wants a slower drawdown, as well as better weapons and equipment.
Neither side wants a repeat of what happened after the Soviet Army abruptly pulled out of Afghanistan in 1989 — the vacuum left behind then was filled by Islamic militants, warlords, civil war, and the birth of the Taliban.
ANALYSIS: Is peace really in the air in Afghanistan?
Another major sticking point is the fate American-built Bagram Prison, in particular 57 prisoners who have been acquitted in Afghan courts but are being held despite this, according to the Afghan presidency.
Obama could order U.S. troops — as he did in Iraq — to leave Afghanistan precipitously if Obama and Karzai can’t resolve the biggest obstacle to their security agreement: Karzai has insisted that all U.S. soldiers remaining after 2014 be subject to Afghan justice. Obama, meanwhile, has called any violation of the US military’s immunity from Afghan law a deal breaker. Many analysts here think Karzai, in the end, has to cave in.
Watch Atia Abawi's full, exclusive interview with Afghanistan's President Hamid Karzai in which he discusses the "growing perception" that insecurity in the region is caused by the United States and some of its allies who "promoted lawlessness" and "corruption" in Afghanistan.
Even with an announcement of a historic deal on this trip, a decision on U.S. troop levels and financial aid through 2024, there’s no guarantee that such a commitment would bring peace. After all, the war has already killed an estimated 20,000 Afghan civilians and 10,000 Afghan security forces, according to the BBC.
After 10 years of Karzai's rule, has life improved in Afghanistan?
Whatever the outcome of this week’s talks, many Afghans share Karzai’s obvious resentment, but still feel the United States’ should help.
"They have invaded our country, they should leave Afghanistan," said Sayed Nadeem, a shopkeeper in Kabul. "But they need to fix problems, first security, then economy and then the rebuilding of this nation."
Retired pharmacist Haji Mohammed Ishaq, 80, believes that all the presidential summits and nice words don’t really matter. "People are tired of war," he said. "We have fought amongst ourselves too much. I’m hopeful Afghans will now become brothers again."

600 billion is not even a drop in the bucket the veterans benefits and medical care for thousands will continue to cost hundreds of billions in the years ahead
Here we have the meeting between TWO ENEMIES OF FREEDOM, Karzai hates the US and is allowed to come here to demand more from Americans , criticize everything American, and carry another load of taxpayers money back to Afghanistan , laughing like a wild man all the way back! Obammi is a muslim ally , whose radical progressive hatred for the United States is being allowed to cripple our economy , destroy American exceptionalism, and milk American wealth from our productive sector, redistributing it to thieves and mooches, both domestically and foreign!
Karzai is the reason for the unstability in afghanistan. Their people know that and are afraid to do anything about it or Karzai will send the taliban to kill them. The Afghanistan people need to take their country back from the taliban and fight for their own freedom. Women can shoot a gun and the taliban has proven that they will use women to kill civillians so the oposite must also be true.
Step up and get out of the stone age. Join the new world and make progress, Do not allow the destruction of your own country's future by the primitive taliban, they use new world weapons to hold you down, so you should use the same against the Karzai taliban to lift your country up.
Time is running out.
Money spent on veterans' benefits and medical care are for US citizens and not for Afghans to loot!
"They have invaded our country, they should leave Afghanistan,” said Sayed Nadeem, a shopkeeper in Kabul. “But they need to fix problems, first security, then economy and then the rebuilding of this nation.”"
They need our tax monies; freedom to loot as they like; for us to leave; and they should be free to take hate and killers marches like: Death to Amerika, Death to Zionists and so on!
Here is a case, where beggar decides what and how much he/she (she does not matter in Muslim nations) wants!
Karzai has risked his life to serve the United States since Bush started the whole mess, but invading Afghanistan is justified right after 9/11 though. Nobody seems to have expected the war to be a mess, and Karzai is just the hired mop for the mess...a corrupt and incompetent mop for that.
To all of you ignorant fools criticizing Afghanistan, study languages and cultures so that you can see the beauty of diversity on our beloved planet before you destroy it ! Afghanistan and Afghans were once famous for their hospitality, but thanks to so many ignorant and selfish idiots, that might no longer be the case. So many ego maniacs with Imperial dreams of out-doing Alexander The Great have invaded these simple honest and hard working people. Except that Alexander The Great is Great because he fought in the front lines against the overwhelming odds, and never thought to hurt women, children and elderly people, for Aristotle was a Great Teacher ! Now that is HONOR ! So before you take a machine gun to a fist fight, educate yourselves before you brag about HONOR and BRAVERY ! I truly wish the Afghans will come out a stronger better people and forgive my stupid people. I wish and pray for PEACE LOVE and UNDERSTANDING to and from the noble yet humble Afghan people !
legal texanlegal :Radical progressive hatred?? Truly you would be more correct to describe yourself as full of radical conservative hatred, and your Republican/Teabag party as the ones who are financially crippling this country. Ideas such as yours are the reason the rest of the world does not trust us or like us. Maybe we should allow Texas to secede we just might be better off!!
odb2.....the cost of veterans care is in that sense minimal. If the VA and other agencies did what they are suppose to do it would cost more but they deny claims, leave the vets out on the street, no medical or mental help..this has been going on since at least WW2. How many came back from WW2 with what was known then as Combat fatique? Millions! how many wound up in mental hospitals? I have nothing against the costs of helping those who fight for our country...

Dependency on Government Largesse
Today we face a dependency on government largesse for
almost every need. Our liberties are restricted and government operates outside
the rule of law, protecting and rewarding those who buy or coerce government
into satisfying their demands. Here are a few examples:
entitlement.
distorted by a deeply flawed monetary system.
much debate have resulted in a steady erosion of our 4th
Amendment rights.
otherwise known as aggression, with no complaints from the American
people.
destined to end badly for us as the hatred builds for innocent lives lost
and the international laws flaunted. Once we are financially weakened and
militarily challenged, there will be a lot resentment thrown our way.
arrest American citizens, hold them indefinitely, without charges or a
trial.
a large number in Washington.
WTO trade retaliation, call the true free traders “isolationists.”
follow our orders.
are routine.
regulations and legislative mandates has been an acceptable policy.
I can just hear the exchange: Karzai: "I stoned 2 women in the town square yesterday!" Obama: " I'm killing 105 babies an hour in America!" High five!!!
THE END GAME
We are now in a run to the bottom and all countries are producing wealth out of thin air. Strong currency meanS weak exports. Japan is printing money just like the Feds, China, EU.
2 trillion printed in LESS THAN 2 years by the Feds.
First it will and is a currency war...Then trade wars...then the end game when all else fails
WORLD WAR III.
ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!
But, but, but, Barrack Hussein said he would end the war in Afghanistan!
President Bush ended the Iraq war, all Barrack has to do is pull the troops he sent in, as the surge, and we are done in that hell-hole.
But wait, if we leave, who will protect all that opium the Taliban and Al Qaeda make so much money from to continue their global terrorism? We can't just leave and risk not controlling all that heroin coming into our streets, can we?
Last year Afghanistan opium production was up nearly 20%. Just think of all the revenue the terrorists can continue making as long as we are there to protect them. Afghanistan is the world’s largest producer of opium, the raw material for heroin, with its farmers harvesting about 80 percent of the world supply.
The simple solution to the Middle East terrorism problem is to destroy the poppy fields that fund them. Announce that in 3 days we will begin carpet bombing all known, and unknown, poppy fields until none are left.
If SOS Hitlery is over her mythical illness, send her to India to announce a new strategic alliance to prevent the spread of terrorism. Imagine the clout a nuclear power like India can have against Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran. Let them all decide how to eliminate terrorism or destroy each other, no big loss.
We should have been out of Afghanistan when we initially defeated the Taliban or, at the latest, when we found and killed Osama Porn Laden.
Time to leave with a BANG and at least put a dent in their criminal narcotics trade that we have mysteriously ignored for a decade.
To Bruce...I'll go you one better ...INSTEAD of just letting Texas succeed so that you will be better off, how bout letting EVERY RED state succeed, so you "Blue staters" will have a great country once more..You all wont have to have our republican/tea bagging ways to hinder what would be the "Blue states" obviously{in your eyes} superior country..I dont know what you will do about food thought because most of Americas food is grown in "RED STATES", so that might be a problem..Oh and I dont know what you will do about energy, because MOST of the energy produced in America{Coal, Gas, and oil} are produced in"RED STATES" as well..You DO have industry{Auto} but again..I dont know how good you will be able to make cars without our{the RED states} coal and iron ore to produce steel..{Maybe the "FlintStones" rock car can make a comeback}..And timber..Well you all DO have trees to build houses with, but probably wont be able to use them because of your obviously superior ideas on saving the planet..And obviously the "Blue states" views on the "liberal"moral fiber of society are the "more advanced" way to go...Gay marraige, abortion, and the anything goes views of the "liberating democratic party, are OBVIOUSLY more superior to the Bible based, right wing conservative views of the "RED STATES"..In conclusion...I thank you for the privilige of "allowing us Red Staters" to continue to live in the midst of greatness..Those of you in the 'Blue states" that allow those of us in the "red states" to continue to live and be a part of America I thank you....I know you all would be better off without our tea bagging/republican consertative way of life so I commend you for being such a soft hearted generous people..
Media loves a play on words. Frenemies - as HunhamsWalter would say; "What the H3ll!" Frenemies is a 2012 television film. Only real reference I could find.
We'll see that word used until we get get sick of it, much like fiscal cliff, or Boots on The Ground!
Afghanistan has been described before as a platform from which terrorists would use to launch strikes against the US and friends. This is why we continue to remain there to fight an endless war we got ourselves stuck in since the Afghans can't fend for their own.
Why? Whats wrong with the word frenemies ? I have found so many frenemies in the US you will not believe, one minute they are your "friends" next minute they stab you in the back. I guess you are much luckier than me if you haven't found frenemies. The US is famous for frenemies. In other countries I had friends and enemies but separate, never within the same person, no frenemies. Only in the good US of A where stupidity is so common that accidentally your friends end up killing you, and your enemies end up saving you ! You figure that one !
Can one trust a word of what Pakis, Afghans, Saudis say?
As the answer is mostly no, the pact/deal between Obama and Karzai is good for toilets after 2014.
We should have negotiated peace with Taliban 10 years ago, when we were in the strongest position ever. Instead we created a puppet regime of Karzai the Crook and his gang of 40,000 thieves. We have been paying for that stupidity ever since.
The Taliban were their before we were and will be there after we are gone. Osama is dead our objective in that country is complete. Pack em up and move em out
Afghanistan...you deserve what ever you get ...man up for your rights and don't let the foreigners or the Taliban steal your country...it's your home deal with it...we needed to be out of there 10 years ago...after a good carpet bombing...
There is nothing we can do militarily to change these people. Their way of thinking is incompatible with ours, where tribal and religious affiliations trump any nationalism. Most Americans have no clue what Afghanistan is like and the very hard life a high number of these people lead.
The best we can do is be an example to the people what a free thinking secular nation can bring you, work hard against European anti-americanism which translates to the ME and beyond. A strong psyops presence with free radios and televisions along with youth exchanges to bring them here and show them what our daily life is like. We won't be able to change the adults, we need to start with their next generation before the imams do.
We also need more internal focus. Stronger banking regulations by people that do not have their hands in the cookie jar, lobbyist controls, and health insurance standardization, not reform, but standardization.
These things are more of a threat to our way of life than any Taliban.
'What’s the first thing she feared after a US pullout? "That [as a woman] I won’t be able to play cricket again!" '
Perhaps that's not true - maybe she will be able to continue playing, so long as she does it wearing a Burkha and veil, does it indoors, and no men are allowed to watch.
Pigotry, do you ever have anything to say that makes an ounce of sense??
Regardless of what we decide to do, we CANNOT abandon the women of Afghanistan! Their lives under the Taliban rule was cruel and tortuous! We cannot simply leave and let them fend for themselves! Women there, still have no power! They barely understand what has happened over the past 12 years! We can't just leave them and turn our backs. We have done that WAY too often in other countries and it's wrong! I don't want to see the war go on forever, but we can't just walk away and leave the most vulnerable, women and children, to the Taliban! What kind of people are we if we do that? I say, no better than the Taliban!
PIGOTRY!!!!!! Really!
1. Bush ignored 911 warnings.
2. Bush failed to kill or capture Bin Laden in Afghanistan.
3. Bush abandoned American troops in Afghanistan taking supplies and troops into Iraq to obtain war profits and "to be known as a war president, as war presidents are remembered." Terrorists moved from Iraq into Afghanistan
4. Bush actions forced President Obama to mop up the mess in order to get Bin Laden and terrorists in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
5. Get out and only leave what is necessary to do surveillance on terrorists. Drone them when needed to prevent attacks again on America.
We should get the Hell out of this nightmarish country. All Afghanistan wants is to use our military might and our dollars. They are both incapable and uninterested in the defense and building of their country and will be at each other's throats as soon as we leave, just like it is now in Iraq.
Karzai and nobama...two of a kind, screwing their own people....
Iamnotyou
I have yet to see anything to make me believe the majority in Afghanistan wants anything of the sort. There is a reason this administration has decided to legitimize the Taliban by negotiating with them, it's the knowledge that they aren't going anywhere.
"Obama set to discuss long-term ties "
________________________________________________________
If Obama had the brains he should have as President Of the United States, he would know we need no ties to such a worthless $#!thole of a country. He should have ended the longest, most worthless war (next to Iraq) in our history years ago as he falsely PROMISED in his campaign sales pitches.
We have nothing to gain in this worthless excuse for a nation, Afghanistan. We have already spent 10 years too long, inexcusable broken lives and families, our honer and international reputation reduced, mountains of unpaid borrowed money to fund this hopeless folly.
Obama is not speaking to Karzai in OUR best interests.
He is speaking for the bankers and corporations who will continue to profit from our losses. He is not speaking for the duped American public he was elected to work for, nor for our valiant soldiers who's lives he continues to ruin through enemy fire, suicide, and multiple tours of duty.

Good morning Pigotry,,,,,
,,,,, that is one of the dumbest things you have posted sense you wrote in recently to say that our national debt is a good thing. It sometimes seems that you will say anything, regardless of how ridiculous, just to post your little miss piggy picture or push for Obama's agenda.
.
I served in Vietnam we had the draft and many volunteers. However, Nam was a 12 month tour then you left unless you volunteered. Today it is an all volunteer military. Our troops deploy multiple times, some 3 & 4 times for 13 months per tour. I have seen the results of these multiple deployments. Depression, violence, drinking and drup use and many are homeless. I volunteer at the local VA Clinic and the VA Hospital in Temple. It is a sad sight and I believe if Americans are concerned enough, they should volunteer. The VA is in so deep they cannot help all who return. It is a life-changing expierience!

Some vote with a fountain pen, some with their feet and others with their trigger finger..... Clearly, the fate of Afghanistan is and should be in the hands of the Afghanistan people. It is up to them to form and support a sustainable government through the democratic process, give up and leave or stand their ground and fight for their rights.
As an American I would proudly support any people of any nation in their struggle to ensure the liberties that we take for granted but I don't see any point in Americans risking their lives for a people that lack both courage and gratitude.
Blow......touched a guilty nerve of yours with facts...and you are unable to process facts ...Name calling like yours gets you suspended.
Karzai Is a two faced forked tongue S.O.B..
Best we get out of there completely !!! This latest meeting is just to extort more money from us. He will promise us anything then do nothing or worse, jump in bed with the war lords . Let them go back to living in the seventh century . That is all they know and want to do, so let them. To many lives lost and money wasted for what ???? Yes I know the drug trade !! Let them have it , just get out now period.
The guy's a dead man walking anyway - and the Taliban are just waiting in the wings for us to pull the plug on Krapganistan so they can finish him off.
Keep dreaming there, bud.
Add ungrateful and backstabbing one to Karzai.
Not many know from where this Karzai came after 2001?
His Presidential palace has to be guarded by NATO forces and huge monies are being spent with labels like reconstruction, training, getting equipment and so on.
He and his coterie are busy looting our tax monies; doing drug trades; and having underhand dealings with Taliban and other militants.
"Karzai sharply criticized the United States, blaming American and NATO forces for some of the growing insecurity in his country."
Many followers of Islamic cult consider that being ungrateful and to backstab are smart things to do. They imagine that they are outwitting infidels.
Are not Karzai and his close circle special Islamic beasts?
WHAT YOU EXPECT???
HE WAS a Oil Executive before he ran the poppy/oil/lithium fields, I mean the country
I'm reading a very good new book on a military (Army) outpost in Afghanistan and what the soldiers endured.
What REALLY caught my attention in that book is all the freebies the Afghans received from our military, especially the top notch medical care. This is part of winning hearts and minds over there. For example, one poor old Afghan farmer hurt his arm in a farming machine and probably needed surgery. So he went to the US Army outpost nearby and what did they do? Did a Medivac by helicopter to a bigger base so he could get patched up. All better. Free of charge. How much would that care have cost the average American? Let's see:
Medicav- about $9,000
Emergency physician- about $2,500
X-rays - about $2,000
Surgery - about $5,000
Hospital room stay- About $4,000
Etc..., etc....
Afghans get new roads, schools, infrastructure, even weapons from the US free of charge. All the while THEY STILL HATE US and will actively support Al Queda or the Taliban as soon as we leave. It's Vietnam all over again. Don't we ever freaking learn?
My point? Let's get all of our troops out of the middle east, sooner the better. Simply tell Karzai this: If another 9/11 style attack originates in his country, we won't be sending troops with doctors and food and other bribes. We'll send nuclear warheads right at him instead.
The only ones who are winning as usual are the military contractors with heavy ties to the Republican party. Period.
Damn, I was right there with you until your last two sentences.
Talk to the Hand
I am with you on that one.
CasualUSTaxpayer
I think if you bothered to do alittle research, you would find that many democrats have ties with the same companies. Why is it you libs blame the rep for every ill of this country and the dem are treated with kid gloveds and can never do anything wrong.
Times-Running-Out- It's the Republicans who want to keep our troops over there indefinately, the Democrats want our troops to come home. Remember Republican VP candidate Lyin' Ryan's platform on this? He wanted an open-ended military commitment to our wars in the middle east. He wanted to keep the death machine going. Obama gave a withdrawal date. Period.
@ Casual--------------As a ultra nationalist, a patriot, and most importantly, a well informed American taxpayer, I can agree with you on one big point you got across, "you are so CASUAL you have no idea whats going on in our government! Even "partisan hacks" will be begging for our defense contractors to do something to protect "you and yours" after obammi cripples our ability to defend ourselves from a nuclear armed middle east, and the unthinkable happens! I am not a republican, I'm an American that believes many excesses and abuses from our government can easily be affected by simple TERM LIMITS !
CasualUSTaxpayer
And just what do you consider TEN (10) more years WITH UPTO 20,000 TROOPS...
And ya still blame it on the rep... Damn Got to love you guys... NOTHING IS EVER YOUR DOING..
Casual US Taxpayer
As Hulk Hogan would say, "Amen Brother"
I would have stated matters very much the same. What started as a Bush Push into Iraqi War II, Call Of Booty, now as spread to Afghan, as a joint interest for bi-partisan Congress members who have ties to military contractors. Can't let Cheney & Haliburton take all the spoils of war for themselves.
Didn't Washington go after billionaire Bill Gates for controlling the global software market?
If the U.S. lead Wars in the Middle East continue for another decade, I'm going to apply for dual citizenship and become a Afghan resident so I can get free, top quality noninsured Healthcare that won't be available here in the states. After all, I'll be using my own paid income taxes for these U.S. provided services.
Didn't Michael Moore state in his 9-11 movie that the ultimate objective is to build a US. lead oil pipeline through Afghanistan to the Indian ocean?
Lawrence of Arabia, Ali-baba, Lions for Lambs, Black Gold, John Q-Denzel Washington movie.com
Romney proposed to increase military spending from current 800 billion to 2.4 trillion. If I remember correctly, lots of people support him over this.
What's to spend for military except to plan to attack someone in the near future.
Let's see here, the usa boycotted the 1980 olympics because russia invaded afghanistan.
The president was a Democrat (Carter) and nothing was done except to arm the taliban.
so it is the democrats that they hate ? for allowing nothing to be done to stop the russian invasion.
I still wonder what the Flexibility is that Obama* promised to the russians.
Face it ! if the usa was really at war with afghanistan, there would be No afghanistan.
"Omar Sharifi, director of the American Center for Afghanistan Studies. “If Afghanistan loses or damages its relationship with the U.S., the only ones who will benefit will be those responsible for 9/11 and who want our destruction.”"
More have been spent in Pakistan for a long time!
In all these the biggest culprits are Pakis, the "strategic allies".
In Afghanistan, Pakis have backstabbed the US and NATO forces big time. Half of NATO forces deaths are due to ungrateful and backstabbing Pakis.
When the NATO forces were entering Kandahar in 2001, Pakis airlifted key al-Qaida, Taliban, ISI and others militants by back door from Kandahar.
This includes Mullah Omar, Osama and many including Paki Haqqani militant network leaders.
Hope people remember about Pakis sheltering Osama.
These Paki Islamic religious Nazis don't bother about their people and they are into reckless killing games in the name of jihad.
Drone attacks are not enough. To reduce NATO forces losses, carpet bomb Paki militant areas just like 1991 Iraqi war.
So more you backstab and more you scream; more and more one gets!
If Paki militant areas are not reduced to Cleanistan, just watch the games Pakis are going to play in Afghanistan after 2014 after NATO forces withdrawal.
Jonathon how right your are.
CasualUSTaxpayer: Your right on all counts, and yet their police and military still turn their guns on our own troop!!!
It's time to get out of this bassackwards country , stop giving them money and wish them the best in their endeavors with the taliwhackinban. We cannot continue to give this country millions and millions we do not have. If congress wants to cut spending, start with them. The majority of the people in this God forsaken country would just as soon see all Americans dead anyway. To hell with them!
Obama, the man who was going to stop the wars...
There were 37,000 troops there when obama took office, he raised the total to 68,000 (almost double).. there have been over 2000 Afghan deaths with over 58 % on obama's watch.
And now he wants to keep up to 20,000 troops there for another 10 years.
And before anyone yells about Bush's illegal wars... Both Dem and Reps voted for the wars, if the dems didn't want to go to war, then why did they vote for it.
Also on this point, all the information that Bush had was also available to each and every congress person had access too.
Al Gore just sold his tv station to a terrorist sympathizer who will have terrorists in america before too long.
"The al jaz, a Terrorist Network". coming to a city near you.
Al Whore... the inventor of the internet... the carbon footprint; winner of the Nobel peace Prize for telling everyone what we already knew anyway. Now that he's a private citizen, he's mor dangerous than he EVER was as Vice-President.
And now, $100 million richer at the hands of Al-Jazeera. Thanks to him, our enemies have a propaganda mouthpiece WITHIN the United States. Here's a question: Might that be considered War Profiteering?
A country lost is a country that is so apathetic that it doesn't know who their leader really is.
I'm not talking about Afghanistan....wake up!!!
Tiredoflosers
Here Here
This is what you get when you engage in nation building.
It is so easy to get into a war but it is so hard getting out. I understrand what President Obama is doing and why but it sure is frustrating, I think for very many of us.
These things can be incredibly complex. It's not cut and dry, as much as some people seem to think it is. Simplistic so called tea party/conservatives saying just leave are naive at best and seem to be incapable of thinking critically and looking at the big picture.
Dennis Price
Are you saying that there are NO dem or libs saying the samething?
Come on now... Get Real... You are as bad as the Alphabet Press....
There are 2 sides to each coin...
I guess you missed the part where I said "thinking critically and looking at the big picture.".
I love people like you. All "ready, Fire, Aim" BS. Alphabet Press my sweet a$$.
As much as you want it to be, not everything is a cut and dry. You don't seem to care bout that though. You just want "When Ted Met Sally" school yard solutions. Sorry, most of us occupy the real world.
Besides, if the President is pi$$ing off both radical sides of the isle he's probably on the right track.
Totally get what you're saying Dennis. Good point. But what you're bringing up begs the question: "well, if we're going to be staying in this kraphole for the next umpteenth number of years, and if we're going to continue waging this 'war on terror' in gawd knows how MANY other countries (read: Mali, Yemen, Pakistan, etc) then, what are those in charge going to do about PAYING for it? Especially at a time when we're all screaming about how our military budget is already too high?"

I think that's the problem right there. The President has a plan to withdraw that seems to frustrate people. I think he knows full well that we can't be in these countries indefinably. I think this reality points to his use of drones in place of feet on the ground troops. I'd rather have a drone shot down in place of one or more of our troops. Used correctly they can have a devastating effect on the enemy, which I am a huge fan of.
Getting into this whole mess was done so badly. The problem was there was no end game planned out. That was a complete failure of the previous administration and possibly the Generals involved. I have zero ida what the Generals had said.
Now we have to live with the consequences of that lack of planning.

I truly believe that your screen name says everything about you that we need to know. Unless you can prove otherwise I would suggest that everything you posted is blatant lie. You baggers seem to specialize in that. If Rush told you that I would suggest that you try to learn to think on your own. Faux and Rush tend to lie about just about everything.
Blow
OK troll. I see you just joined and probably won't be around for long. Try grenade trolling someplace else scum bag troll!
DNFTFT People!
Dennis Price, how can you talk to Blow that way. Can't you see that he uses capital letters so he can come across as intelligent. He is a Troll who post the same crap over and over. Best just to ignore this retard. No offense to retards.
The main thing I took away from this article was pure ungratefulness! I clearly understand we can't pull out out overnight but fall this year seems feasible. Let these cave dwelling scum fend for themselves don't ask us for a fukking thing we have gone above and beyond to try to improve the quality of life of the Afghans. Maybe if you didn't harbor terrorists we wouldn't have invaded. After we leave don't call us for help. I think Karzi is on borrowed time anyway.
The old saying that you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make him drink seems to apply here. They have been led to freedom but can't seem to take it. Why is Karzi still in his position? Corruption is harder to rid then the Taliban and leads right back to them.
Another chat between Brothers. One in the "hood" openly, the other behind closed doors. Remember, Hussein long ago declared proudly that Afghanistan was "his war." Too bad he isn;t over there fighting. Then the taliban could finally do something worthwhile.
How much is this visit going to cost us? These savages hate us .but will miss us when we leave $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Many Americans killed in Afghanistan--and for this idiot to say ----Hamid Karzai to say what he said--the hell with him and his nation
A nation full of Muslim trash. Obama took troops from Iraq and put them in Afghanistan and we are still paying the bill. I just can't figure why we are still there.
it's stated in the article...we can't let the taliban take over a country and become strong again. We are literally the one thing in the way of keeping them from coming to power. As soon as we leave, they will take over if the afghans can't protect themselves. If they become powerful again, that's bad for everyone.
Liberal Americans are in the way. They don't believe that we should be there!
More tax payers' dollars will be going home with Karzai and probably alot of weapons for them to use against us to shoot our soldiers in the back. This is a country whose only crop is opium and yet we allow our government to keep sending our money to them.
Let's see if the negotiation will go any better this time.
We have seen many soldiers being prosecuted for killing those we are at war with and that is just wrong. I can only imagine how many would be prosecuted if they are held to Afghan law.
Perhaps a thoughtful gift of a new gray cone hat would be in order.
Karzai is a lying two-faced bastard. Check into his ties to corruption and Iran.
The muslim-loving SOB is bowing down, apologizing and grovelling even as I post this. Sorry SOB.
what? How the hell do you figure? Oh wait...another uninformed obama hater.
Yes, its true, YOU are one sorry individual!!!!
Why don't you leave? You clearly hate our President, so go, NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bring our guys home and stop funding that country, because that government that exist is corrupt and just using our assets to keep things going as long as the money keeps flowing into their hands.
American has wasted our assets to help a country while our own country has sufffered from a broken down infracture, a fallen economy because of those two unfunded wars from the Bush era. Americans are sick and tired of our Congress. We are sick and tired of the greed Congress supports for the rich who made their money from the middleclass, yet want to get rid of the middleclass along with seniors too.
Americans have gone through enough!!! Get out of Afghanistan and take every bit of valuable equipment out of there. Leave that country the same as the way it looked when we first arrived. They don't like us, just like our money!!! We don't need them.....Leave them to their own ways and the life they choose. We CANNOT CONTINUE TO BE THE POLICEMEN OF THE WORLD...
Joanie..if the war is unfunded, why is it costing so much money? The "blame that on bush" is not working anymore. it is Obama* all the way. Clinton missed bin laden 3 times while having a Monica in the oval office.
"We need to learn to fly, but we do not need to learn how to take off or land". that should be a clue. right? on clinton's watch.....
Believe it or not, America would be getting stronger, if not for the democrats.
it was republicans who crushed america to begin with....we're only on the way to recovery UNDER DEMOCRATIC WATCH. It would be a faster recovery if it wasn't for the party of no trying to make obama fail.
I'm glad there was a party present to say NO to any more Obama Spending! We owe $16.4 Trillion. That's $50,000 for every man, woman, and child in this country. I do not know about you, but I don't have a spare $150,000 to pay off this debt!
The Islamic extremist Frankenstein monsters have started backstabbing big time the inventers of Pakistan, British, and the masters (US and allies) who kept them alive.
In most of the Islamic terrorism and plots in the US, Britain, Europe and other places, Pakis have a hand.
Half of NATO forces deaths in Afghanistan are due to Pakis.
Before followers of Islamic cult set their feet on Afghan and Paki regions, these regions were quite peaceful and prosperous.
Once the cancer of Islam gradually got control of the region, those regions have become raping, stealing, looting and killing fields.
In Afghanistan, Paki proxies Taliban did not even tolerate Buddha’s statue in Bamiyan.
Many Paki areas and some Afghan areas have become breeding and exporting centers for illegal activities including drugs growing and trading and export of Islamic radicals and terrorists all over the world.
British invented Pakistan in 47 and Pakistan is supposed to be a pure Islamic nation. In Pakistan, it was massive genocides of minorities in between 48-50.
Percentages of Hindus and Sikhs were reduced from about 24 percent less than three years by rapings, stealing, lootings, terrorizing and killing on a massive scale.
Paki Islamic religious madness did not end there.
Sunni Pakis are after Ahmedias, Sufis (fake love and dance Islamic soap opera people), Shiites (20 percent), Hazaras, and Baloochs and other minority sects/tribes.
Shiites, Sufis, Ahmedias and other minority sects/tribes people are blown up while they pray in their mosques on Fridays. And even hospitals are bombed to kill those injured.
SOME MUST BE TOO DUMB TO KEEP THE UNGRATEFUL AND BACKSTABBING PAKI MILITANTS AND THEIR SPONSORS ON THE MAP!
Except that Alexander The Great is Great because he fought in the front lines against overwhelming odds, and never thought to hurt women, children and elderly people, for Aristotle was a Great Teacher ! Now that is HONOR ! So before you take a machine gun to a fist fight, educate yourselves before you brag about HONOR and BRAVERY ! I truly wish the Afghans will come out a stronger better people and forgive my stupid people. I wish and pray for PEACE, LOVE, and UNDERSTANDING to and from the noble yet humble Afghan people !
Ignorant fools? Forgive YOUR stupid people???
You must be one of those mindless morons? Yep, thats it!!!
Get the @!$%# out of this country, BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You certainly are an ignorant fool, and a stupid assed idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now watch me get taken out? When its Johnnie Pinetree brain that deserves it most!!!!
With fellow country men like you who needs a foreign invasion !
All these dramas have been going on since the birth of Islamic cult!
In 21st century, only fools will believe what the followers and their supporters of Islamic cult say/sing/scream/dance with!
My advice to you is to get off those damn meds.
Johnny Pinetree: Better take admission into some mental hospital. Muslim nations have some very good ones.
J. Pinetree...Whats the brand of kool-aid your drinking there...
Johny @!$%#tree, didn't you post that stupid comment already? Move to Ratinfestedstan if you like the people so much moron. One look at your white a$$ and they will cut your privates and stick them in your mouth you f-king imbecile.
Personally you couldn't pay me enough to go into that sewer where as you put it is famous for it's hospitality. Do you actually believe the crap that comes out of you anus, I mean, mouth.
US partly to blame for instability? Hard to fix that which is so unstable.
Sounds like blaming the good samaritan for breaking your arm after he just saved your life by pulling you from being pinned in a burning building.
Gary_Chicago
We created our own enemies when we supported the anti-Russian folks during Afghanistan's last occupation. Why should we so shocked that they are fighting against our occupation?
Any more waste of lives or money in Afganistan is just that. A stoneage country that will never change. Let them sink alone. The Taliban will be back in power the minute we actually leave. Leaving 3,000 Americans there is just asking for more casualties.
A single American is not worth the whole country.
GBA
The thing is this...Obama said out in 2014..but how many GI's are still going to be there? He made an agreement to keep support people there but for how long? Forever?
That was based on his intelligence at the time. Now that the political season has changed...
Right.... I can't think of a better strategy than telling your enemies that you'll be leaving the fight & when.
Here's how this will play out... Muslim Brotherhood & Taliban bide their time & wait OUT the US Military withdrawal. Once armed forces leave. they move in like a swarm of locusts. By that time, the military's budget will be so cut to the bone it will have little choice but to sit back and watch as all that US tried to do in that region is wiped away.
So much for Support of our troopos from our Commander-in-Chief.
Intell...sort of like Bengahzi? Missed something.....but seriously stating when your leaving is an open invite for those groups that we ran out to come back and with a vengence...
Stan...16-18000 troops....easy pickins for taliban.
We need to stop sticking our soldiers and money into other countries, they want us to get out but they also want us to insure their long term safety. Somebody should explain the theory of "having your cake and eating it too" to these people. We need to get our troops home cut off their money and aid and then adopt a worldwide policy again of "walking softly but carry a big stick" and don't mess with the US!
What a Stupid article!
Has any one here ever seen the movie "Team America" ?
".......... F*ck, Yeah!!" (durka, durka)
"Karzai has insisted that all U.S. soldiers remaining after 2014 be subject to Afghan justice."
What US soldiers? Obama said that all troops would be removed from that hell hole.
While we have Karzai in our custody lock him up.
He is no friend to the American People.
Both Iraq and Afghanistan have refuse to grant legal immunity for any of our forces left behind after withdrawal. I have a real serious problem with that.
