On the second anniversary of the Arab Spring revolution in Egypt, protesters clashed and dozens were killed outside a jail. NBC's Ayman Mohyeldin reports.
PORT SAID/CAIRO - At least 30 people were killed on Saturday when Egyptians rampaged in protest at the sentencing of 21 people to death over a soccer stadium disaster, violence that compounds a political crisis facing Islamist President Mohammed Morsi.
Armored vehicles and military police fanned through the streets of Port Said, where gunshots rang out and protesters burned tires in anger that people from their city had been blamed for stadium deaths last year.
The rioting in Port Said, one of the most deadly spasms of violence since Hosni Mubarak's ouster two years ago, followed a day of anti-Morsi demonstrations on Friday, when nine people were killed. The toll over the past two days stands at 39.
The flare-ups make it even tougher for Morsi, who drew fire last year for expanding his powers and pushing through an Islamist-tinged constitution, to fix the creaking economy and to cool tempers enough to ensure a smooth parliamentary election.
That vote is expected in the next few months and is meant to cement a democratic transition that has been blighted from the outset by political rows and street clashes.

Amr Abdallah Dalsh / Reuters
Al Ahly fans, also known as "Ultras", celebrate and shout slogans in front of the Al Ahly club after hearing the final verdict of the 2012 Port Said massacre in Cairo Saturday.
The National Defense Council, led by Morsi and which includes the defense minister who commands the army, called for "a broad national dialogue that would be attended by independent national characters" to discuss political differences and ensure a "fair and transparent" parliamentary poll.
The statement was made on state television by Information Minister Salah Abdel Maqsoud, who is also on the council.
The National Salvation Front of liberal-minded groups and other opponents cautiously welcomed the call but demanded any such dialogue have a clear agenda and guarantees that any deal would be implemented, spokesman Khaled Dawoud told Reuters.
The Front spurned previous calls for dialogue, saying Morsi ignored voices beyond his Islamist allies. The Front earlier on Saturday threatened an election boycott and to call for more protests on Friday if demands were not met.
Its demands included picking a national unity government to restore order and holding an early presidential poll.
Threats of violence
The political statements followed clashes in Port Said that erupted after a judge issued a verdict sentencing 21 men to die for involvement in the deaths of 74 people after a local soccer match on February 1, 2012, many of them fans of the visiting team.
Visiting fans had threatened violence if the court had not meted out the death penalty. They cheered outside their Cairo club when the verdict was announced. But in Port Said, residents were furious that people from their city were held responsible.
Protesters ran wildly through the streets of Mediterranean port, lighting tires in the street and storming two police stations, witnesses said. Gunshots were reported near the prison where most of the defendants were being held.
A director for Port Said hospitals told state television that 30 people had been killed, many as a result of gunshot wounds. He also said the more than 300 had been wounded.
Inside the court, families of victims danced, applauded and some broke down in tears of joy when they heard Judge Sobhy Abdel Maguid declare that the 21 men would be "referred to the Mufti", a phrase used to denote execution, as all death sentences must be reviewed by Egypt's top religious authority.
There were 73 defendants on trial. Only a handful appeared in court in Cairo. Those not sentenced on Saturday would face a verdict on March 9, the judge said.
At the Port Said soccer stadium a year ago, many spectators were crushed and witnesses saw some thrown off balconies after the match between Cairo's Al Ahly and local team al-Masri. Al Ahly fans accused the police of being complicit in the deaths.
The fans, who call themselves "Ultras Ahlawy", said Saturday's ruling started the process of retribution, and hoped the rest would face the same fate when verdicts are issued on March 9.
Among those killed on Saturday was a former player for al-Masri and a soccer player in another Port Said team, the website of the state broadcaster reported.

Teargas rains down
On Friday, protesters angry at Morsi's rule had taken to the streets for the second anniversary of the uprising that erupted on January 25, 2011 and which brought Mubarak down 18 days later.
Police fired teargas and protesters hurled stones and petrol bombs. Nine people were killed, mainly in the port city of Suez, and hundreds more were injured across the nation.
On Saturday, some protesters again clashed with police. In the capital, youths pelted police lines with rocks near Tahrir Square. In Suez, police fired teargas where protesters angry at Friday's deaths hurled petrol bombs and stormed a police post.
"We want to change the president and the government. We are tired of this regime. Nothing has changed," said Mahmoud Suleiman, 22, in Cairo's Tahrir Square, the cauldron of the 2011 anti-Mubarak revolt and near where youths again stoned police.
Port Said, Ismailia and Suez, which have witnessed some of the worst violence in the past two days, lie on the Suez Canal but a canal official said there was no disruption to shipping through the waterway vital to international trade.
Morsi's opponents say he has failed to deliver on economic pledges or to be a president representing the full political and communal diversity of Egyptians, as he promised.
"Egypt will not regain its balance except by a political solution that is transparent and credible, by a government of national salvation to restore order and heal the economy and with a constitution for all Egyptians," prominent opposition politician Mohamed ElBaradei wrote on his Twitter account.
Morsi's supporters say the opposition does not respect the democracy that has given Egypt its first freely elected leader.
The Muslim Brotherhood, which propelled Morsi to office, said in a statement that "corrupt people" and media who were biased against the president had stirred up fury on the streets.
The political schism between Islamists and secular Egyptians and frequent bouts of violence have hurt Morsi's efforts to revive an economy in crisis as investors and tourists have stayed away, taking a heavy toll on Egypt's currency.
Mustapha Kamal Al-Sayyid, a professor of political science at Cairo University, said the latest violence reflected the frustration of many liberal-minded Egyptians and others.
"The state of polarization between Islamists and others is most likely to continue and will have a very negative impact on the state's politics, security and economy," he said.

The original uprising of the people was filled with such hope and now look at it. People are being shot in the streets.
It's only going to get worse.
Who is Morsi kidding with this statement - the people have been expressing their views peacefully for a while now but nothing is done to satisfy their requests.
I wish the people of Egypt all the best but I'm afraid there will be no best. Only a dictator.
the Egypt which used to be a great place to visit, has turned into a radical Muslim state , just because a wolf dresses like a sheep its still a wolf !
Muslim brotherhood did not disguise there intentions that they support shria law and now Egyptians are hurt and surprised !
as for our white house either they have no clue what is going on in the middle east or they think radicals will change is dangerous !
just because were tired of all the bull@!$%# and want to concentrate on other things, this will never happen as long as there are radical islamist and want to strike the US when ever they get the chance !
Greetings, Chefaz.
Looks like the Egyptians replaced one dictator with another breed of dictator, only this new one wants to ultimately change Egyptian society in a way the Egyptian people never intended---or wanted----to an Islamic state where Sharia law dominates. I guess there are some people in Egypt who better make sure they don't "steal anything" over there in the very near future as the penalty would be something else rathur than some jail time (no room in the Egyptian jails anyway since they will be already filled up with "political prisoners").
Another fine day in the Middle East!
Betcha the "peaceful demonstrations" are not going to be blamed on a "video". Wonder what the killings by Morsi's troopers are going to be blamed on.
Notice how silent the Department of State is now on foreign affairs. Guess Mrs. Clinton is recuperating from her Congressional interview. After all, she said she was too tired to initially respond to the "TERRORIST" attack and let Ambassador Rice go on Sunday National TV because she has other things to do on a Sunday.
Nothing, absolutely nothing, will be done to her nor the DofS employees, involved in the security of our embassies/consulates, who were moved to a different government job. Now, that is better job security than tenure teachers.
HI DAVE!!!
You really said a mouthful on all of your posts. I guess the new and not-so-improved Egypt will eventually become sharia west.
Coptic Christians have suffered for many years and there is certainly no end in sight now with the brotherhood at the helm. Jews, atheists and others won't have a leg to stand on at all in Egypt.
Regarding your #2 post, here is one link that shows us just how Morsi feels about Israel and Jews.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUYgKRt97Y8
Things just ain't lookin' good in Bedrock right now. :(
Lets not forget that in 2008 Obama said he wanted to "Fundamentally Transform America".
I sure wish the hairs on the back of peoples necks had stood up and they asked exactly what he meant by that.
I betcha alot of Egyptians wished they had asked how the Muslim Brotherhood was planing on "Fundamentally Transforming Egypt" before they voted the Muslim Brotherhood in.
Morning Chef!!
Its a good thing Obama sent his gift of 20 F-16 fighter planes and 200 tanks to Morsi! Wonder if these will be used on their own people or just saving it for Israel???
Free elections? The choice was muslim brotherhood vs muslim brotherhood. That is not a choice! Sharia law with public beatings for ALL!!
Radical islamist extremists are taking over Egypt and OUR POTUS is arming them with OUR tax dollars!!!

Obama Sends 20 F-16 Fighter Jets To Mursi Egypt!
"Eight of the dead, including a policeman, were shot dead in Suez, and another was shot and killed in the city of Ismailia, medics said. Another 456 people were injured across Egypt, officials said, in unrest on Friday fueled by anger at Morsi and his Islamist allies over what the protesters see as their betrayal of the revolution."
There is more to the above.
Saudi Arabian versions of extremist Sunnis and their proxies with labels like Muslim Bloodhounds, al Qaida, Salaffi, Taliban and wearing labels are on rampage all around the world.
Sunni extremists like Muslim Bloodhounds should be kicked out immediately from Egypt and other places without mercy.
If they settle, it will be walk over for them to invent enemies and then do their regular rapings, lootings, stealings, killings and genocides as they are doing in Pakistan, Syria, Somalia, Mali and other places.
We should stop supporting fountainheads of the Islamic extremist and economic problems, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
With the stability in decline since Morsi got the boot, should the Obama administration really even consider send F-16 fighters to Egypt? Given their open disdain for Israel. Are we as a country going to do as the USSR did after thier breakup? Start selling off our weapons to the highest bidder? Destabilize those areas of the world even further?
With Egypt's debt already forgiven, I really don't think I personally would be in to big of a hurry to sell something to someone who could not pay for it.
Those F-16's and tanks were a GIFT!!!
22 killed, 200 injured in clashes over Egypt soccer disaster verdict
Now the story changes to a soccer fight? Sounds like they cant get their story straight just like Benghazi!!
Waiting for the story to come out about an anti mohammed video! Suan...where are you? Sleeping on the job??
This was the ORIGINAL story line...
Egypt's armed forces deployed troops in the city of Suez early on Saturday after nine people were shot dead during nationwide protests against President Mohamed Morsi, underlining the country's deep divisions as it marked the second anniversary of the uprising that toppled Hosni Mubarak.
Eight of the dead, including a policeman, were shot dead in Suez, and another was shot and killed in the city of Ismailia, medics said. Another 456 people were injured across Egypt, officials said, in unrest on Friday fueled by anger at Morsi and his Islamist allies over what the protesters see as their betrayal of the revolution.
Morsi said the state would not hesitate in "pursuing the criminals and delivering them to justice." In a statement, he also called on Egyptians to respect the principles of the revolution by expressing their views peacefully.
They learned that trick from Benghazi
Don't make us call the French!
"thousands took to the streets of Cairo, Alexandria and other cities on Friday to protest against what they call the authoritarianism of Morsi's rule."
Morsi and his seventh century desert mindset one-way traffic bigoted Sunni Muslim Bloodhounds will not act differently from their past track records of hating and killing.
Even their rules of the few will be disasters for the rest.
The few are: the seventh century mindset savage Sunni clerics and a few ruling class.
Egyptians should kick them out these liabilities and curses on societies from Egypt at the earliest.
as for our white house either they have no clue what is going on in the middle east or they think radicals will change is dangerous !
What part of that being their country do you not understand?
Unless you are willing to go over there or sacrifice your children for their freedom, just accept that this is none of our business.
The more we interfere, the more the opposition looks like they're in collusion with us.
It is our nature to conquer, control and subdue land and people, just read our history and we are continuing that policy today. We just need a reason to go and do it. Why do you think we aren't in N Korea, Somalia and a hundred other places that just need us to control them.
G'Morning FED!!!
I wondered myself if this was some addition, update, different story...weird...
for 5000 years, the only states in the Middle East and Northern Africa that have thrived for any length of time have been the ones who ruled with an iron fist... for them, it will always be chaos or kings... no in between...
With the pathetic government and direction that the United States has had for the last 20 years.......it won't be that much longer before this type of thing starts.
I am puzzled that so many commenters are upset about the White House or the State Department inactivity in this matter. What should we do, invade Egypt and set up a government that we like? That always works well. Or we could arm the rebels and hope they win and are grateful to us for the support. Worked well in Afghanistan in the 1980s, didn't it? Give Obama and Clinton the credit for not getting involved in another country's revolution. I, for one, am tired of being the world's cop. The pay is bad and the benefits few. People tend to get the kind of government they deserve, and nobody rides for free. If the Egyptian people are successful in establishing a democratic government then that will be a great milestone in the Middle East and they will deserve our wholehearted support. If they end up allowing a Muslim state to rule their lives, well, there are plenty of those around and we deal with them every day.
Time to ban soccer. If we can save 1 life then it's worth it.
4corners............ stop giving them money and weapons.
Any more questions?
Those are not petrol bombs, they're fracking drinking water!
Don't you worry! The ANTICHRIST will come and make everything better in no time!
Just wait till Morsi gets the 20 jets and 200 tanks Obama is sending him. OH @!$%#.
Ido:
How would you have the Congressional Panel punish them , Ido? Firing Squad, 100 lashes, take out ads in every daily publication announcing they are very, VERY bad people?
Suppose you have never erred in your job as Perfect Person!
I am not for people taking law into their own hands. Innocent people die when mob mentality takes to the streets. It is not being said to lie down and take it but, what is accomplished killing innocent people who had nothing to do with it or has caused no harm? Killing without cause is wrong. Why is it so easy to kill today? Why is there no respect for life? Doesn't anyone get it we have only one chance to do what we are created for? Has abortion clinics done this to mankind? If we can kill our baby's we can kill anyone with ease? What has hardened our hearts to this degree? There are many things my government and our leader do that I believe is wrong, and I don't agree with but, I would never think to take anyone's life as a solution. Everyone believes it is so free to be American and perhaps it is but, we go through terrible and unfair things too. If someone gets in the way of a powerful person or steps on a powerful agency's toes... that person can end up dead or disappear like anywhere else. I know I could never understand living under a dictatorship or being oppressed like over seas but killing people who have done no wrong is not the anwer. If we can't fix ourself, we need to pray to God, who sees all and who can fix all and make things right. We play a part in Him fixing things or not... we must obey Him to be blessed. God doesn't want people killing or hating each other. When we realize that then things will change, at least for us, in our mind and emotion. A person at peace within himself is free under all circumstance and situation. M
chefaz-1319563
That has yet to be determined. Remember, under Mubarak Egypt was a basically a single-party state. The only group that had any real organization was the Muslim Brotherhood. When other parties begin to catch up I suspect we will see a shift in power. The thing to watch is whether or not the MB will try to cement their authority before that can happen. The riots in the street suggest that will not be an easy thing to do.
Mustapha Kamal Al-Sayyid, a professor of political science at Cairo University, said the latest violence reflected the frustration of many liberal-minded Egyptians and others.
I find it interesting that in the Middle East the Liberal Minded people are the ones trying to make things more livable for all people and religions. These Liberals are fighting and dying for their rights, as human beings, to live their lives as a free people, free from their Conservative religious rulers who dominate their government and repress their people in the name of religion.
Extreme Conservatives, in the Middle East, we look at as Islamic extremists where as they consider themselves the keepers of the faith at any cost... Extreme Conservatives in our country (the United States) also include extremism in the name of religion but here we call them The Tea Party, an offshoot extremist version of the Republicans...
Does this tell us anything? I think so, I think people can take anything to extremes. We, the Liberals of the world should consider ourselves the worlds conscience, Jiminy Cricket, if you will, letting the Conservatives know when things are getting out of hand, and keeping the balance... Do not get me wrong,... We need both the Conservatives and the Liberals in equal amounts to maintain a truly free country that does not succumb to the extremist values of either side of the political coin...
In the middle east the liberals are looking for the values and freedom we enjoy here in our country where, for the most part, we are all considered equal and have the right to: choose our own religion, bear arms for our own protection, speak out to our government in peaceful protest without fear, where women have the right to choose their own fate and what is right for their bodies and life, and where anyone has the right to speak their own mind without retaliation from government.
In this country we need to voice our opinions, using our conscience as our guide, to keep these rights and further improve our way of life as a nation of the free... Mr President, Congress, House of Representatives, let us NOT throw away the Constitution of the United States and take away the rights that have been given to us by our Fore Fathers, but enforce those rights and find other ways to help us feel safer in our homes, work and schools...
Just keep ignoring the mess you created Mr. President. It's what your good at. I'm sure he'll eventually find some way to blame Egypt on the Republicans.
guess there the death sentence is worth dying for.. Wait for it............. all the thumbs down.
well hell; let's just sue somebody. seems to be the way of the world.
Doesn't anyone care about the value of human life anymore?
It would seem like these "people" are little more than animals. Our government needs to quit sending them weapons! Leave them alone and let them live however they want and do NOT let anymore of them immigrate here! We have enough problems with our own citizens acting like animals.....
I hope we are watching, our government is watching the “disaster" that Egypt has become and how quickly things move. Only a couple of years ago, Egypt, while not perfect, was relatively prosperous and people from all persuasions lived next to and tolerated each other. Tourism was flourishing and bringing in much needed funds, the economy was ticking over just fine.
Today, Egypt is in “ruins”. One thing I find hard to swallow is that once again our government had their fingers all over the pie, contributing to this misery.
They are got what they ask for when they ran Mubarek out of office , it's hard to have any sympathy for them.
It sounds like a huge Fox Watching contingent is commenting on this article. Do some research. Not from Fox or The Heritage Foundation types alone, either. Work a LOT harder before parroting what you want to believe. Because if any of you think this Egypt-bound shipment is anything that the Pentagon is not the driving force behind, you are only fooling yourselves. Balance you information sources, because you really do not have to dig that deeply to uncover what imbalance Israel still and will continue to hold over anyone else, in fact, EVERYONE else COMBINED, as far as who is getting the US Military Weapons and Guidance systems, as well as special considerations for developing their OWN fleet of fighter jets and missiles!!! If President Obama was giving them Raptors, I'd be all over his and the Pentagon's ass in a heart beat, believe you me, informing with facts, not rhetoric intended to bolster disdain for Obama's Administration. And I DO rail against his many continuation of W Bush Administration Policies and Practices, such as allowing Artic Drilling(a disaster that WILL happen), allowing weak bills against gerrymandering and pork which allow the same old, same old and a bevy of other issues. Morsi will go away and needs to be gone, dead or alive, before this is over, IMO, if he does not begin to follow his People's Will as opposed to the MB's alone as a dictator. And it will be messy. Syria anyone? The more we interfere, the more we make for the Military Industrial Complex, and the less we will be convinced to reduce OUR Military budget responsibly. How freaking convenient. Again.
Do not be Sheeple, People. Pay close attention, but do not rely on ANY pundit, left or right. Both Parties vote all this crap through together, just like the finding for Iraq. The Illegal War.
And there are plenty more sources which lay out the true military might which is Israel. Rabble-rousing is for fools.
Israeli Air Force Inventory
And even this very relatively small shipment, which is not on the way yet, will have no bearing on Egypt becoming a Force to Fear. It is the modern, non-radically Islamisist that are leading these protest against Morsi, the ones that too many Islamaphobes like to conveniently ignore as they continue to spout baseless speculation.
Grrrrrrr.
Watch this regarding 36 of the same jets we are selling Iraq:
Video - Iraq Set To Purchase U.S. Fighter Jets - News Hub
It is just business as usual. And it is a deadly deal always.
Peace
Good points, Backcountry. You probably already have but if not, do check out Coptic Christian's posts throughout this.
4corners
I am puzzled that so many commenters are upset about the White House or the State Department inactivity in this matter. What should we do.
Dont you think giving Egypt free F-16's and tanks is enough. Id say thats being pretty active in that matter. You also praised Obama for not getting involved. I dont understand that statement, giving away fighter jets and tanks seems to me to be pretty involved. Remember the Muslim Brotherhood are Obama's friends so hes gonna help them out. Or do you think the Muslim Brotherhood is going to wait to use this new high tech war equipment (paid for by the American Citizens) against Israel?
This may be the USA's future so take a look..
I see the same old paranoids are at it again.
We need to support our allies when we can. Back off and let's see how the people of their own country deal with democracy if that's what they want.
The fact is that the US has interests in all of the middle east not just with oil but with making sure the people are able to set up commerce and sustain themselves , making them less dependant on foreign aid.
Every President, not just this administration, has made it policy to back the will of the people of those countries as long as they do not kill their own, and move towards human rights.
We, the US, have in the past, and to some extent today, used the CIA to go into these countries and start/ support these uprisings to advance our interests. I would much rather see it done in the open, where we as a nation are able to see if our government is acting in the best interests of the people there as well as here. So we know in the open we have sent the arms or jets is good for all of us to know. I don't know about you but it makes me a little nervous when it's done undercover and we don't know.
Making side comments about our current administration shows a lack of understanding of our long standing foreign policies and our treaties not just with the countries involved but with the UN as well and the complexities of those policies & treaties .
When it comes to Benghazi I think we will find (if the classified briefs are released to the public), that this was an active CIA operation and that the embassy staff should not have come in until after the reassessment of the operation was done. But because the CIA doesn't have to communicate all that well with the State Department during an operation (it falls under the DOD) the State Department could not give fair warning not to go in on the 10th.
Besides the fact that one doesn't have anything to do with the other. The situation in Egypt is far different.
"The Muslim Brotherhood, which propelled Morsi to office, said in a statement that "corrupt people" and media who were biased against the president had stirred up fury on the streets."
For these seventh century desert Sunni Islamic Muslim Bloodhounds, others appear to be "corrupt people".
These seventh century desert mindset Islamic barbarians and beasts, who have been only doing stealing, kidnapping, raping, looting, killing and terrorizing unarmed innocents, first should know how to be humans.
Why can't they tolerate Assad, another Muslim?
exactly jonathan,i thought i would read more comments about that statement. how do WE know these people demonstrating are "corrupt",oh yeah, the goverment told us so,right? demonstrating people are considered "corrupt"? take a close look,as this is coming to an america near you. our support to help these rebels overthrow their goverment(i guess we didn't know who they were backed by right?) and libyas, again i guess we didn't know who we were backing right? has given these islamic terrorists easy access from the middle east throughout africa. i am ashamed of OUR GOVERMENT,putting their noses into these two countries business, but now that ghadafis weapons have been stolen by these factions,we are doing nothing? and now we should listen to obama(who has aided these peoople in their cause) about the HELP syrians need? are their rebels backed by the taliban? he seems to be only helping these countries by backing the terrorists,no? i must be one of those conspiracy theorist, right?
Start watching for mushroom clouds. The lunatics are officially running the asylum. The muslim brotherhood is getting into position themselves to "love" their neighbors. The Chinese, through the North Koreans, are trying to tie up more military resources of our so we will find it difficult to respond to escalated conflicts in the mid east.
****_you: Thanks.
You can't believe the changes in the US itself.
Before 1991, air travel was a breeze. Now there are checks of different types all over.
Supporting the most ungrateful and backstabbing Saudis and Pakis is the biggest blunder. Now we have their Salaffi and Wahhabi mosques, hate preaching and killer training centers, in most of the US towns.
Oil rich Sunni rulers, oil companies and their lobbyists pocketed many politicians and media and invented Iraqi wars making them all rich and we poorer.
Nothing much would have happened if Saddam was still there. Damages by Iraqi wars and oil price manipulations have been hurting us badly.
Please read my posts carefully and you may get a better picture.
I wonder just how long it will take for Morsi and his Islamic Brotherhood to blame all of Egypt's current problems on the Israelis-------remember all of the vicious anti-Jewish statements Morsi recently made in a speech (in Arabic intended for "domestic consumption")?
Fortunately, or unfortunately!, there is not a single intelligent person in the Islamist leadership. After waiting for more than eighty years to rule Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood have demonstrated a complete lack of leadership and management skills. The disasters and tragedies that happened since the MB took over the country are so many, and their only excuse is "it's Mubarak's fault!" Now the country is up in arms and the MB are fighting for their life, they are using every dirty trick in the book including playing the religion card by blaming some of their problems on the Christian minority. Recently, they started talking about arming their members to fight the demonstrators, so sadly we should expect more bloodshed before things settle down.
No its Bush's Fault.
Sounds like all of what you stated can be applied to Hamas as well. Just substitute "Hamas" for "Muslim Brotherhood" and "it's Israel's fault" for "it's Mubarak's fault!".
BTW, if Hezbollah ends up totally taking over Lebanon, we can substitute "Hezbollah" for "Muslim Brotherhood" or "Hamas" and just leave "it's Israel's fault" in the statement above!
Another fine day in the Middle East!
"Morsi said the state would not hesitate in "pursuing the criminals and delivering them to justice.""
What these Sunni Muslim Bloodhounds do is justice and what others do is injustice!
These seventh century Sunni Islamic extremists are incorrigible and incureable Islamic maniacs in 21st century.
Israel and US join hands to get rid of Sunni Islamic religious Nazis from Egypt and all ME nations.
Let us start with Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan and other places!
Coptic Christian: You are using some big words like "intelligent person", "management skills" for these Sunni Islamic religious Nazis.
Look at the House of Saud and his 5000 princess and princesses and their harems.
Look for you big words from there.
Then search them among Sunni clerics, "scholars" and their supporters.
If you get some decent humans of 21st century, let us know.
@jonathan Many of the MB leadership have college degrees, both the President and the Prime Minister have PhD's from American Universities, however they are totally clueless about what it takes to govern a country. They quickly filled top Government positions with their MB friends, and almost all of them failed in carrying out their duties. In few months there were many tragic accidents, trains colliding, buildings falling, the Government response was inadequate, and their excuse was that all these accidents are due to the poor infrastructure which is the fault of Mubarak's regime. The private news media are challenging them on that point, when the train hit the school bus in Assiut and killed about fifty students, Amr Adeeb in his TV program asked the Governor of Assiut, a member of MB who was a professor in a Medical School, what qualifies him to take such a job.
Coptic Christian: Give me a break!
Even PhDs from American universities are not worth the paper they are awarded, if those having PhDs don't have basic qualities of humans.
If they are fronts form Sunni Muslim Bloodhounds, their PhDs are not even worth for toilet papers.
Many Pakis have similar track records with worse net results.
All of us need to join hands in liberating ourselves from these seventh century Sunni Islamic barbarians.
We had enough of them!
It has slowly reduced to global clash of religions: Muslims vs non-Muslims.
David's right, it's Bush's fault.
I'm starting to think the best thing about america is that it's so far from the middle east, it's like a nexus of crazy there.
Coptic Christian
@jonathan Many of the MB leadership have college degrees, both the President and the Prime Minister have PhD's from American Universities, however they are totally clueless about what it takes to govern a country
Sounds like the members of the House of Representives, The Senate and our President!!!
no money, no weapons.
The Obama administration is sending F-16's to Egypt!
I guess the Egyptians are going to use them to "patrol Sinai" and to bring "law and order" over there, right?
OBAMA IS A BLACK SCUMBAG anti American , muslim. Go join the movment Barrack, Oh I forgot, you already did.
I take it Louie voted for Willard--or didn't vote at all...
Send them a gift of a well structured Political Party, the GOP Party, all of them. They always have the right answers. For back up the Fox News team..
Louie: what piece of sh*t you are...I bet you nothing more than a Redneck piece of Sh*t.
Maze: You like it in the ass so...
Wow! Another unintelligent, illiterate Redneck. HobieSun and Louiebill must be porking Cousins, err, I mean kissing Cousins. Don't you two clowns have a cross burning to attend tonight? Don't forget your Moonshine boys, I hears it's cold outside. The hate of a black President on these blogs is quite frankly appalling and quite frankly embarrassing and pathetic. In four years, please go vote for whomever you wish a-holes.
Hows that Arab Spring working for you Obama?
I'm sure the Muslim Brotherhood is thank full for the F-16's and Tanks your sending them to help "pursuing the criminals and delivering them to justice." <- "Muslim Brotherhood Justice"
One thing about democracy in the Middle East--we no longer get to dictate who their leaders will be...
"In a statement, he also called on Egyptians to respect the principles of the revolution by expressing their views peacefully."
and Muslim Bloodhounds' "peace."
Look at the irony!
Sunni Islamic haters and killers, Muslim Bloodhounds and their front, Morsi are talking of "peacefully."
Do the seventh century desert bigoted Sunni barbarians know what "peace" means?
We need to stop concerning ourselves with Egypt's problems & address the power grab by O'Bama & his Progressive anti-white male and anti-Christian crowed!
Nice try Lee. The Obama power grab is called Democracy and anti-white/anti-christian has nothing to do with Obama or his policies its called demographics. Judging from your post you are CLEARLY not intelligent or well read enough to comment on behalf of all white males or christians in this country.
won't be long before the the good ol U.S.A. will be demonstrating for our rights as well, wonder if our troops are smarter than those in Egypt, money and power are one thing, having commonsense and knowing what is right and wrong is another. I don't think our troops realise how much power they hold and they will be the difference in either being mindless drones putting down what we will be called "terrorist" just like these people or having the commonsense to see they are being used as puppets to perpetuate a cycle of greed and corruption.
Jonathan <<~~~~~>> Sure! The Muslim Brotherhood knows what "peace" is. But, they think you have mispelled it !!!
Randoggie:
Brainwashed Troll? The only difference between bath house Barry & Morsi is Morsi is in Egypt...CLEARLY your Union Masters tell how to think>>>
we should stay out now? our fearless leader was complicit in helping these people getting their "freedom",and now we should stay out? and libyas troubles? we have to thank him for taking "care" of ghadafi, right? he had no desire to keep these terrorists at bay a little, right? well now they have his weapons cache thanks to our intervention and we should do nothing?(i know ghadafi is no saint, you people don't have to tell me,i've been here awhile)he was at least using HIS MANPOWER AND MONEY to fight these factions, now what?people cry about bushes wars, how about obamas? he is screwing this area up more then it was(didn't think it was possible) and he wants us to trust him about syria? i say let them go on their own(noone would step in to help us if needed)then back MORE TERRORISTS.
nothing good anytime soon there, too bad
You are right.
It will be a long and hard bloody battles against seventh century Sunni Islamic religious Nazis, Muslim Brotherhood.
"The protests will continue until we realize all the demands of the revolution - bread, freedom and social justice," said Ahmed Salama, 28, a protester camped out with dozens of others in Tahrir."
If the opponents keep up the protests and kill when required like in a revolution, savage Sunni Muslim Bloodhounds can be driven out.
These friggin morons and idiots have been at it for over two thousand years.
I wish they would just kill themselves and get it over with, friggin morons.
Sort of like what is happening here in the USA, with all of the deaths caused by those who should not have access to guns but somehow seem to have no problem getting the weapons and have no concerns about using them on other human beings, right?
"The schism is hindering the efforts of Morsi, elected in June, to revive an economy in crisis and reverse a plunge in Egypt's currency by enticing back investors and tourists."
Who will visit or invest in Egypt controlled by Sunni Muslim Bloodhounds, who know only how to invent enemies and start their regular business of stealing, looting, kidnapping, raping and kidnapping?
Oil rich Sunni rulers and rich sheikhs, who become curses on earth, have been funding their hate preaching and killer training centers, Salaffi and Wahhabi mosques all over the world.
These one-way traffic mindset seventh century desert Sunni Islamic barbarians imagine that they are too smart and they can get away with murders by flashing monies or some favors.
For change let them stop funding their mosques and instead visit and invest in Egypt.
jonathan,i'll tell you who would invest in egypt now that the devil is in charge.the devils right hand man barry soetoro that's who your muslim brootherhood extremist and chief
brian: I could not understand your post. Can you explain more?
Wow Brian: Your another piece of Sh*t. Redneck: Jonathan He can't he's a dumb ass redneck probably from the hills of Kentucky.
Let me guess maze. 1992 was when your mom had her 12th kid.
Yet Obama is sending them aid package millions of dollars and 6 more upgraded fighter jets- kind that can and will be used against us one day- look militants run this country now why are we arming them>????????????????????????????
And I am sure one way or another they will be used against us.
The Egyptian military is secular and extremely pro-U.S.
@gwarth Wouldn't that be Congress and NOT the President??
Everywhere I read "Obama did this" and "Obama did that". It is Congress who spends the money, Congress who sends these gifts (or makes the decision to cancel them), it is Congress who decides our gun laws, funds programs etc etc etc. I haven't seen anybody twist the arm of the GOP House lately, have you? Nothing gets by them. So give credit (or disapproval) to those people we all sent to Washington. Throw the bums out if you don't like what they are doing. Our President is just a President, not a dictator or a king. And not unlike other Presidents that have passed through my lifetime. If you knew about anyone other than Bush you would know that.
We can send 20 F-16's over but we have issues funding security for OUR schools? @!$%# Egypt!
Why the Egyptian Army to Suez?- The Egyptian Court has issued death sentencesfor 21 accused in the Al-Masri (Cairo)and al-Alhi (Port Said) soccer match bloodbath in Port Said stadium which left 74 dead. Ther verdict for the other 52 will be issued March 9. This bloodbath occurred February 1,2012. For anyone thinking that Pres.Morsy is a wolf in sheep's clothing- you're right. Coptic Christians - is Obama adm. speaking for their rights? Case of Nadia Mohamed Ali- born a Egyptian Christian Copt- married a moslem/converted to Islam- husband died- Nadia and her children converted back to Coptian Christians under Mubarak- new ID cards- Pres.Morsy went after them- she received a jail sentence for 15 yrs-so did her 7 children-so did the clerks who issued ID cards. Expelling Coptics-looting their shops/homes-)Morsy-' blown out of porportion'- 100 families destitute. What does it matter now? Pumps on the road.
@mimi, here's what I posted on facebook
The massacre in the football stadium in Port Said came after the massacres of the Copts in Masspero, and of the opposition in Mohammad Mahmoud. Morsi's government is not trying to find the real criminals behind these three tragedies and also those responsible for the bombing of the Church in Alexandria. As for today's rulings, I am not sure that those condemned to death were the mastermind behind this most tragic and bizarre event.
Somebody please tell me I'm having a nightmare...
Did our country just issue 20 F-16 fighter jets to those wackos?
As if Israel didn't have enough to worry about with Iran.
This administration never ceases to amaze me with it's betrayal of our allies.
Thsi administration is anti American. No doubt about it.
John Kerry Defends Obama Admin's F-16 Gifts to Muslim Brotherhood-Ruled Egypt
Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) on Thursday defended the Obama administration's gift of four F-16 fighter jets to Egypt despite Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi's newly-surfaced comments referring to Israelis as "descendents of apes and pigs."
Kerry, during his confirmation hearing to be the next secretary of state, told Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) the foreign aid package was worked out in 2010 when Hosni Mubarak still ruled Egypt.
"The fact that sometimes other countries elect someone you don't agree with doesn't give us permission to walk away," Kerry said.
He called Morsi's comments "reprehensible" and "unacceptable by anyone's standard."
"Those comments set back possibilities of working towards mutual issues of mutual interest," he said. "They are degrading comments, they're unacceptable by anyone's standard and I think they have to be apologized for."
But he said despite Morsi's words, Kerry said the U.S. has a "critical interest" in Egypt — hence following through on the aid package.
"Not everything lends itself to a simple classification, black or white," Kerry said. "We have critical interests with Egypt, critical interests. Egypt has thus far supported, lived by peace agreements with Israel and has taken steps to deal with the problem of security in the Sinai. Those are vital to us, our security interests and the security interests of Israel."
@invisible hand, as I understand it Egypt os getting aide to be covering our back in Iraq. If I understad it correctly they are suppose to have troops ready to there if need be. I seam to recall this while I was fact checking something and stumbled across this but only read over it lightly.
They are all slugs!!!!
potomacscott
Giving Aid and Comfort to the enemies... I thot that use to be call treason?
It sure use to be my friend.
Hard to tell who the enemies are anymore.
There are enemies--foreign and domestic.
Times is a domestic enemy.
Will Egypt be useing our free jets that odumber is giving them or will they save them for attacking Isreal?
Military aid for Egypt was part of the 1979 peace agreement with Israel the U.S. brokered, in which the occupied Sinai was returned to Egypt.
Israel still gets far more military aid from the U.S. than does Egypt.
@ the expense of cutting BACK on our military. What a shame.
Shane, over the years I have not agreed with several Presidents of both parties on policy. Both domestically and foreign but have never found any reason to disrespect them and the office they hold. You sir are a jerk.
A lot of what Morsi says is for domestic consumption. So far, he has upheld all aspects of the treaty with Israel, and he has worked to stabilize the situation is Gaza, which is in Israel's interest.
Morsi lived in the U.S. for a number of years; he earned his Ph.D. at the University of Southern California and was an professor of engineering at another U.S. university. During that time, two of his children were born in the U.S., making them U.S. citizens. He remains an avid USC football fan.
sure he earned his ph.d. in america all of the great murderous dictators were schooled in america by the likes of bill ayers, and the rest of the america hating scum that control our universities.
Just don't jump to conclusions too early.
Sometimes, Islamists come with "love" and "peace" songs and dances, then they tear everything to pieces.
"Morsi's supporters say their critics are ignoring democratic principles, after elections swept the Islamists to office."
Hosni Mubarak always managed votes of more than 90 percent.
These Sunni Muslim Bloodhounds could not manipulate votes higher than 65 percent.
If Mubarak could be still thrown out, these MBs and their front, Morsi don't deserve to be anywhere near seat of power!
Just kick, kick, and kill them all as and when required.
Morsi is like the bumbling and conceited French police inspector Clouseau in the Pink panther movie. He was put forward by the MB, as a front man while the real leaders rum the Country. They are Badee'a the religious head of the MB, and the businessman Khairat El Shatter who could not become president because of his previous prison sentences, and also as it turned out, he carried dual Qatar/Egypt citizenship.
Invisible, sounds like a love affair between you and Morsi. You talked about peace accords done in 1979. What happend to their president Sadat?
One more for Morsi you moron. He's trying to get Omar Abdel-Rahman, aka the blind sheikh, released from prison here in the US. The same man who gave the word to kill president Sadat. The same man who is responsible for the world trade center bombing in 1993. Be careful whom you throw your support and admiration.
....OH..WELL...now lets be nice...this whole thing is over the top...EGYPT was thriving and enjoying freedom as best as they could then some FACTION decided they wanted change...well you got it...now no thriving...and now you got gifts from OURMAMA to kill, kill, kill with your USC education, do you feel PROUD of what you have done....??? power hungry SCUM of the MB...AND OUR FED'S SUPPORTING YOU...
all they did was voted in a second dictator that in the long run will turn against the u.s that helped them.
The majority vote in Egypt. What will history say about Egyptian democracy. What will history say about any democracy based on faith. History will say another failed state. In the 21st century faith intrudes to often in matters of state. The rightful place for faith is in the heart not in the mind. If international politics was mindful, it would finally work wonderfully.
One King has fallen and another will follow.
King Obozo is next!!!!
Please LeanForward then BendOver, that way I get a straight shot shoving a t-post up your bung-hole.
COH, if you please.
Yahoo.com is over yonder>>>>>>>>...
Oh boy ... I'll bet ya that old Moris can't wait to get his hands on all those free US F-16s and Abram tanks that will be supplied by obama's "arab spring" foreign policy program. What better way for Morsi's freely elected democratic government to demonstrate his dedictation to "winning their hearts and minds." Way to go guys!
Why is everybody so worried about some outdated and detuned F-16s? There are lots of F-16s over there and Mig-25s. you don't crab about the Migs. I seriously doubt they got Abram Tanks. Even if they did they would be bare back tanks with a lessor powered cannon. Read a little History and pay attention. We gave Russia M-4 Tanks during WWII but they had a smaller cannon on them. Wake up and realize this, the master does not teach the student everything. Now go forth and grow a brain cell or two.
i read all the comments i felt so sorry for you guys ......you dont know whats going on in egypt you have to live in egypt to understand the nature on the egyptian we are very religious peoples we love morse and we see our hope in hem now but moubark's men and our bad media and his men still work for him up to now they refuse to help dr morse and stand by him to build a new egypt because they lost money , benefits too they used to steel the egyptian with moubarak but now its different story all these protesters did not represent the egyptian at all they are some of bad boys can do any thing for money they kill , steel .make mess ......the real egyptian love morse and islam brotherhood all what you see and hear in the media is a lie and away from the truth ..........i hope the best to egypt ...ameen
Whatever you do, do not rely upon America. Always remember that is was America that subjugated the Egyptian people for over 30-years to the dictator Mubarak. This is the American peace my country seeks to spread around the world. Peace under any dictator is not peace, it is "compliance" and "cooperation" and the quiet of the murdered and slaughtered dead. There is no honor in death, only in living. You keep your tormentor uneasy for as long as you breathe. Keep breathing.
Hannah, are you serious
With tens killed and hundreds injured, street demonstrations in many cities and almost the whole country up in smoke, is that a show of love towards Morsi and his brothers?
Carpet bomb the whole country!!!
G'Morning Coptic.
hannah, I find your statement a bit curious...
OK, this isn't the only news agency...are all of them getting this wrong??? Could you please provide links to news agencies accurately showing a different side to all of this???
That's nice. Since you're in support of Morsi, I'll guess that you're islamic. What about very religious Christians, Jews, Baha'i and other faiths??? Where does all of this leave them??? Does this support all islamics including the minority sects or just Sunni???
If you lost money or benefits, your reaction would be what??? Why did these people lose money???
Yes, most any person of good will does hope the best but very little good has happened since Moubarak left. When do the benefits of overthrowing the former Egyptian government make an appearance???
Please LeanForward then BendOver, that way I don't need to carpet bomb,I get a straight shot shoving a t-post up your bung-hole.
Good Afternoon chefaz, I just saw your post, you are right many have hoped that the events in Egypt will lead to a better future but unfortunately the Country is in a free fall, the MB are purely dogmatic about their dreams of a new Islamic Kalifate, that they don't care if the country is destroyed as long as they can fulfill their dreams of the establishment of an Islamic Union. Those in charge of Egypt has demonstrated a total lack of common sense and wisdom. and they can not handle running the country. One popular TV commentator told the MB that Egypt is too big for them. Egypt needs a lot of prayers that it can survive the current slew of disasters.
Coptic Christian and dhefaz,
Thank you both for keeping it real. The only American I know of living in Egypt is keeping low, and he is in a mutually well respected and universal relationship with the real people there, and has nothing but good to say for most of his host country's people, just as is naturally the case when you leave Religion from friendships, Governments, Harmful Thoughts & Actions, and arguments, which is different from having a faith in a Higher Power. There has to be something or someone that is above all this...
Also, with the blessings I have received in this life, I am Very Thankful to someoneor something, even if it is Lady Luck!!! (((-;
Peace
@Notsojingo Thank you for your comment. I live in Heliopolis. Things are interesting and getting a bit better. There are of course concerns, but when I go out to the villages and things people are fine and wonderful. I teach here. H. H. Pope Tadros helps a great deal as does the Sheik of the Grand Mosque. There are difficult days but there are twice to three times many more wonderful days. The news only says what is bad. We know what is good here.
People in this country resent foreign aid (to any country except Israel which doesn't need it) and don't want our troops stationed all over the world. The logical result of that however is that the rest of the world gets to decide how to run their own piece of it. The Egyptians will figure out what the Egyptians want and it may take decades to resolve. This is going on all over the middle east, central Asia and parts of Africa. We interact with those areas in ways that are in our own best interests and adjust our interactions as their governments evolve.
The violence by the "powers that be" against the people will continue until the country is right back to where it was before the most recent phony revolution and all the phony revolutions that preceded the first one. The number of dead and dying matters not at all. Like, who didn't see this coming? The true Egyptian people need to target the "powers that be" and kill them until not one of them is left alive -- not even their sons and daughters, not even their mothers and fathers, not their grandmothers and grandfathers, not their aunts and uncles. Evil must be eradicated from the earth. The rulers cannot even have any memory of ever once having subjugated a whole people and washed themselves in stolen riches. Then "the people" can kill each other until no one is left. That is the only true way to ensure democracy takes root in Egypt. How will you know freedom? When the hating has stopped, and bloodlust fully and finally quenched.
@hannah khaled - I lived in Libya during the early 1960's, in fact I graduated High School there. I visited Egypt, as well as several other African countries when I was still in High School, and was in total awe of the beauty of the country as well as the friendliness of the people. I think the peoples there will figure out what kind of government they want. Sure there was a lot of strife at the time on that Continent, but that was during the years that African people were overthrowing the yoke of Colonialism. Massacres happened in Central Africa but not in Egypt. There were assainations in Egypt, but in the end the country stayed mostly peaceful.
Right now, Dr. Morse is President. I don't see him as a dictator. But if the elections in the coming years indicate that he wants to be I will be very sad for the Egyptian people. I want Egypt to be peaceful. It was to a large degree when I visited there and seems to be, from press reports still, with some exceptions. I don't know what will happen in the meanwhile, but I want Egypt to be peaceful. Your country is still a friend of my country, and I hope it stays that way.
One thing the United States needs to do is stay out of Egyptian politics. Egyptians will work it out themselves, without help from anyone.
I wish all of you peace in the coming years and stability in your government and lives. And I hope you get it.
Hello jackieboy.
It is good to see you post such very good wishes to your neighbor, Egypt. The fear is now Morsi has become a dictator, but is more considered a forgone conclusion by him and his actions, as well as with those he aligns with that support Radicalism. I hope everyone including me is wrong that believes he will need to be eliminated, along with his Mullah Law cohorts, by the People of Egypt, from sitting in the highest seat of their government. The Secular and Moderate Egyptions are not to be ignored nor spat on(and worst). The sad part is, he was elected due to the promises he made, and has now broken many if not most of.
We will all be worse off if he does continue in the current vein.
Peace
Thank you Jackieboy for your kind words and support. That is what the Egyptian need to hear ~~ especially right now. The people need to hear our good words and feel our support. They have had enough of people tearing them down. It took courage for Hannah to post and express her feelings.
@leftsfacist you wrote and it's Morsi; not Morse.
Actually, you are incorrect here with your statement to correct another post. Arabic is a phonetic language. So, in many of the articles you will see Pres. Morsi's name spelled differently. I have seen it spelled Mursi, Mursy, Morsi, Morsey, etc. Just because someone spells it differently does not necessary mean it is incorrect.
Send Obama, Biden, Clinton and Peneta over there to FIGHT and bring them PEACE. (and all the queers, too)
Who in the United States really cares about the international happenings? ? ? ? ?
Only anyone with the barest knowledge of global logistics. Like understanding the importance of the Suez Canal and who controls it. But don't worry, I'm sure either NASCAR or WWE can soothe your hurtin' head after all that deep thinkin' you been doin', bubba.
Barack Obama - Wearing his pants "easy access"
Such an idiot - sending fighter jets and hundreds of tanks to the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt - even after the $400 million he sent them last year - and after their people were throwing shoes and tomatoes at Hillary
We know who's driving this Crazy Clown Car - Barack with Chuckles Biden riding shotgun - and Hillary in the back seat reading the map
"What difference at this point does it make?"
Incompetence and failure - leading by excuses and using the Bush BandAid for cover - pathetic and sad
Failure in denial - at it's liberal best
He's just a community organizer, you give him way too much credit..He is still a bafoon!!!
Dude, I usually don't give 2 craps about spelling, but if you're going to put down anyone for what you see as stupidity or ignorance, you make yourself look like a complete moron if you spell any of it incorrectly...such as "buffoon". What it makes it look like is an idiot is complaining about someone else's intelligence.
In the USA, they would get community service.
Seriously, do you really care? People only use this to bash President Obama.. For me, I really don't care, let them do as they will as long as they stay where they are.. . Cause and efect dates back to G. H. W. Bush..........
Market Tip:
Buy stock in the Bush Band-Aid. Barack Obama and the incompetent democrats - have used the hell out of it for 5 years for cover and show no sign of giving it up
Sad, Pathetic and yes disturbing
Changing a religious mindset with a political agenda is not going to work. No insult to anyone, but if they can't find peace with themselves with their belief and faith, nothing will until it runs it's course.
Boromir- Are you referring to the US or Egypt?
and yet the us gives f16s to Egypt last week.the world is going
nuts .
You think those sand monkeys can fly them???? Not!!!Lmao
