Egyptian protesters clash with police in Port Said on Sunday. Some in the crowd fired guns and police responded with volleys of tear gas, witnesses said. State television reported 110 were injured.
The funerals keep coming in Egypt.
Thousands turned out Monday in Port Said to attend funerals for the seven people killed in the previous day's violence, which broke out as mourners paid their respects to 33 people who had died in riots the day before. The riots were a mass reaction to a judge sentencing 21 people to die for their roles last year in a soccer stadium brawl that killed 74 people, some of them thrown from balconies, after a match between teams from Cairo and Port Said.
Meanwhile, a man in Cairo was shot dead during a fifth day of clashes during protests against the government of President Mohammed Morsi, Reuters reported, citing a source in the Interior Ministry. The 46-year-old man was not taking part in the protest on the edge of Tahrir Square, and it was unclear who shot him. Police have fired volleys of teargas at stone-throwing protesters around the square.
The news agency also reported that Egypt's cabinet had approved draft legislation that would expand the army's powers, giving soldiers the right to arrest civilians and help police with security as the death toll from demonstrations reached 50.
Port Said and two other cities along the Suez Canal where violence has flared -- Ismailia and Suez -- prepared for their first night under curfew Monday after Morsi declared a monthlong state of emergency in them.
The most recent violence began Friday, the second anniversary of the "Arab Spring" uprising that felled the government of Hosni Mubarak. Protesters say that Islamists are taking over Morsi's government and their revolution and that they don't want to live under the strict rule that the Muslim Brotherhood might impose.

Thank Goodness obama just sent Morsi some tanks and F-16s at taxpayer expense. Now the dictators are in collusion. So much for freedom and democracy from Arab Spring.
The Egyptian government bought those airplanes with money, so they did not cost the taxpayers anything. Egypt buys their tanks from Russia. You are an id10t.
Let us not bring Obama into all discussions.
If we bring him in, then Bushes, McCains, Hillarys, Liebermann's too deserve to be in!
"The news agency also reported that Egypt's cabinet had approved draft legislation that would expand the army's powers, giving soldiers the right to arrest civilians and help police with security as the death toll from demonstrations reached 50."
Start of Sunni Islamic seventh century barbaric Muslim Bloodhounds' rule!
All sane Egyptians should join hands and kick out and if required eliminate each and every Sunni Islamic killer of Muslim Bloodhounds.
Let them run to their Godfather's place, Saudi Arabia.
back to basics..................... you are the IDIOT... look up the transfer... it was not a sale! And it was tanks.
This is all part of Obama's enlightened plan for the Middle East. What a mess!
Of course, Egyptians seem to forget that terrorists love to bomb funeral processions, or anyplace else where people are gathered. It's a common brain fart for Arabs to gather together when terrorists are afoot.

Opponents of Muslim Bloodhounds should not stop now till all of them are kicked out once for all.
Hope Egyptians will prove that they are in 21st century.
They should not permit Sunni Islamic MBs' hijacking of "Arab Spring" and their fast backwards marches to seventh century desert days as Turkey's Erdogan and his Sunni Islamist gangsters have done.
Jonathan, good post. But I'd prefer that you back-off on the carpet bombings in many of your other post, I really like the drone tactic better.
Acosmet: Thanks!
In some places like Paki Islamic militant areas, which have become most dangerous places for world, drone attacks are not enough.
You know: half of NATO forces deaths are due to them operating from there.
There drone attacks are not enough. There carpet bombs are required and that use bombs about to expire!
Why waste too much time with drones?
leave them alone' there killing eachother, stupid damn muslims! just call them up' and ask them nicely if they wanna buy more weapons lol!
The first thing the mid east war monger known as Obama should do in this situation is to
"MIND HIS OWN GD FRIGGIN BUSINESS AND STAY THE HELL OUT OF THAT CONFLICT"
Obama for some reason is more interested in taking care of the middle east conflicts than he is in taking care of America and its crumbling infrastructure and bringing the big bank crooks along with the wall street crooks to justice.
But he doesn't have time for America, his loyalities, apparently, lie with the middle east.
This guy is not representative of a president of the United States, he is more interested in building up the middle east instead of building up America.
How is it that such a minority of Americans are represented on this vine? I am sick of you people calling our President a Muslim Terrorist or implying those things. You really are the Stupid Party.
This has nothing to do with Obama, what you think he actually rules the world? That everybody everywhere is going to do what this country ask them to do? You are Stupid and I am using that as name and a description here.
The people of Egypt voted for the brotherhood. We can not tell other countries people how to vote.
We won the damned election and if you people don't like it then leave. We do not want your Stupid "spin" on things. You shame yourselves and your country.
I am sickened by the negative remarks about the Muslim people as a whole. I will tell you though the rhetoric from you Stupid people is as frighting as anything I am hearing about the rest of the world. Your hate, your disrespect, and especially your Stupidity.
The American right is destroying this country. You are unscrupulous thugs in the way you tried to suppress the vote, now trying to turn the urban areas into a half a person per vote? Shame on you all, you are so narrow in your views, that even trying to make gun safety part of our way of doing things, you start calling the Presidet "tyrant", "wants to be a king", and several other completely studid rants.\
I unlilke you though would still fight to my death, your right to say these incredibly stupid things. That is my America and I want it back. I want the country that would fight to the death to protect someones freedom of religion, I want my America back, I want the country that fought for civil rights, against slavery, I want my America back. I want an America where the community organizer is admired and we looked out for each other, instead of the Ayn Rand everyman for himself philosophy of the right wing.
God, that is a "high school" age look on life, Ayn Rand is a story teller who was completely nuts.
End of Rant - Have a good day.
Honestly we need to close off those areas to anyone and everyone and let them kill each other off then it wont be our problem any more even thought we decided to make it our problem.
manoftoday,
I halfway agree. I sort of think that we should do nothing at all.
Any intervention from us will be in the interest of stopping hostilities. Hostilities do not need to stop. I like the fight that the revelutionary portion of Egypt has. The current administration is not what they had in mind. Their country is being highjacked by Islam and they know the only way to get it back is to fight for it.
Islam does not lend itself to a peaceful democratic society by it's very teachings. The religious leaders are the politicians and the ruling bodies are ALWAYS extraordinarily intolerant of anything that even halfway resembles free thinking. It is ashame really. The middle east, pre-Islam, was the most flourishing civilization on earth. Look at it now.
They should force the current battle to an all or nothing if they want to move the country toward democracy. burn it to the ground so Morsi doesn't have a country either.
It also seems a bit bizarre to me that we would fight and eliminate Islamic terrorists in two middle eastern countries and then supply our future up and coming enemy with the means to wage war. I think there is a profit motive from our political/military/industrial complex in that move somewhere.
I'm on the side of the revolution. I also think we should keep out of it!

With the problems in our own United States we need to fix those first before we worry about who is winning what in other countries then we can see if others need help. But right now we have to solve our own debts, and our violence problems, and our education problems, and the job loss problems too. Then after all that we can continue to stick our noses in other peoples problems but hopefully by then we should do that.
But i agree it is good that they are learning that there are better things then rule or be ruled.
Our only concern over there should be keeping the Suez Canal open for business.
We are on our way to WW3 aren't we? I can see the Iran/Korea problem as the catalyst.
"...AS EGYPT'S STABILITY TEETERS" Egypt has had no stability since Obama changed our Middle East Policy to "support change rather than stability". I doubt there is an a man in the Middle East who wouldn't turn the clock back to restore thing as they were.
you Dolts
Americas Number one Industry #1 is ARMS we do not I repeat Do not give them away they cost $$$$ bank bank
