It was our embassy, it has everything to do with our country and yes, politics. The second attack on an embassy in 4 months and we still have no answers from the first one other than the fact that it wasn't a video or a spontaneous protest. No arrests have been made, so why not keep doing it? But this shouldbn't be happening after The President declared that AQ was dead and on the run. And you would think that with the best Secretary of State in history, the results would be far better in the region.

I'm sure we'll be told soon that this is just more "workplace violence"!

No arrests were made over the war in Iraq and weapons of mass destruction. And no one was tried over the embassy attacks under other Presidents like Bush. And I'm not complaining about it. However, if you are going to let it go that way that time, you can't just do a 360 degree turn about because the Democrats are on watch. Turkey is a Nato country, has been for a loooong time. So are we. on Dec 4 2012, Nato agreed to Turkey's request to augment Turkey's air defence due to problems Turkey is having w/ Syria (namely the shooting down of a Turkish jet by Syrian forces in June and the killing of five Turkish civilians in Turkey by Syrian shelling in October). On 21 Dec 2012 NATO announced the decision to site Patriot batteries at Kahramanmaras, Adana and Gaziantep. the participating countries are the Netherlands, Germany and the US. On Dec 26 2012 The first Patriot battery, provided by the Netherlands, is declared operational and placed under the command and control of NATO.

Seven German soldiers have already been mobbed Tuesday in the port city of Iskenderun, in the southern Turkish province of Hatay.

I have just read this story and reread it immediately to make sure my understanding was correct. I have not yet read any of the comments (but I intend to). I want to point out that under international law this is an attack on United States territory because Embassies and certain other territories belong to the nation whose embassy it is , just as at Pearl Harbor or 9/11 was. Under international law the United States could now declare Turkey because by their attack Turkey has declared war upon us and, therefore, we could legally attack Turkey and, if things go right for our side, capture it and occupy it. We could have done the same thing in Iran and Benghaizi for the same reason. In all probability, the United States will not carry matters that far and, in my opinion, probably should not do so. However, it is legal under international law. Therefore, anyone who holds that whatever action the US does take is harsh should be aware that it is not as harsh as the law allows.

So if the information that you are reading was "30 minutes ago" and I commented a half hour BEFORE the information you are reading was posted, it stands to reason that this story has been UPDATED. Or is that too much logic for you? I obviously read the story since I commented that "Right now all we know is that there was an explosion "near" the Embassy." When I commented, it was a breaking story and was less than 10 minutes after the story first broke near 7:00 am EST. Obviously when a breaking story first breaks, it has limited information. Or were you just hoping to get a "zinger" in and feel better about yourself?

People who make comments like "read the story first" on a BREAKING story need to realize that the original commenter may have been commenting on a very preliminary story when less information was available. It just makes the person trying to make a "zinger" look petty and small.
