4 arrested in Egypt after shoe thrown at Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

Amr Abdallah Dalsh / Reuters

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad meets people as he visits the Al-Hussein mosque, named after Prophet Mohammed's grandson Hussein ibn Ali, in old Cairo on Feb. 5, 2013. Ahmadinejad was both kissed and scolded on Tuesday when he began the first visit to Egypt by an Iranian president since Tehran's 1979 Islamic revolution.

CAIRO -- Egypt's security arrested four men who were protesting outside a Cairo mosque, where the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was praying.

The men, including a Syrian, belong to the ultra-conservative Sunni Salafist movement.

One man threw a shoe at Ahmadinejad, a Shiite, who was never in any danger.

The Al-Hussein Mosque is revered by Shiite Muslims, who are widely disliked by conservative Sunni Muslims, including members of the Muslim Brotherhood. Egypt's President Mohammed Morsi was previously a member of the Brotherhood.

Many Sunni Muslim groups have denounced the Iranian president’s visit to Cairo and have called on Egypt’s government to prevent Ahmadinejad from visiting any religious sites that are significant to Shiite Muslims.

Ahmadinejad met with Sunni Islam's most senior scholar at Al Azhar shortly before he went to pray at the Al-Hussein Mosque.

What is this unIslamic act?

Sunni Salafis threw shoes on Iranian President, Mahmoud instead of throwing bombs.

As per Sharia Laws, all the guilty Sunni Salafis shold be punished.

Shoes and Mahmoud must be most unIslamic act too!

In many middle eastern countries throwing a shoe at a person is like calling him a liar and a criminal. It is an expression of disgust and hate. But, it might have been more advisable to have thrown a hand grenade.

    Nice isn't it.....

Here we have someone "Democratically elected", backed by this administration and elected by the Muslim Brotherhood, has the Iranian El Presidente, backer of most of the ME problems, for a "State" visit. Both have grand visions for Israel and the West.

I wonder what "agreements" these two are cooking up. Maybe the Iranian El Presidente just wanted to get a closer look at the recently received F-16s given to Egypt.

Where is the condemnation statement from the Secretary of the State ? Oh, he is busy with a metal detector looking for his medals he threw over the White House fence.

I remember from when Bush got a shoe thrown at him, that showing the bottom of your shoe to somebody in the Muslim community is just about the most offensive and disrespectful thing that can be done. Ahmadinejad has killed people for less in Iran, wonder what Morsi will do.

There is a recent 5 billion dollar suit brought against Standard and Poor's, the ratings agency that is parented by McGraw-Hill. You likely remember McGraw-Hill from school textbooks, but did you know that the families of McGraw and G.W. Bush have a long relationship? And that Barbara Bush is (or was) a member of their advisory board? Worth mentioning that McGraw-Hill sold their educational division November 26, 2012. No Child Left Behind was very profitable for the division, but their stock value has recently lost 3.7B in market value. Down 23% in 2 days.

Sunni Islamic extremist Muslim Bloodhounds have a long a way to go!

Pakis and Saudis have better ways of handling the minority sect Muslims.

Sunni Pakis are after Ahmedias, Sufis (fake love and dance Islamic soap opera people), Shiites (20 percent), Hazaras, and Baloochs and other minority sects/tribes.

Shiites, Sufis, Ahmedias and other minority sects/tribes people are blown up while they pray in their mosques on Fridays. And even hospitals are bombed to kill those injured.

I have reviewed the summary of the 50 page memorandum, I would read the 50 page document if it was available to me. The only two Americans that were killed by drone strikes lived in Yemen and were undeniably terrorists, even by their own admission in several videos in which they called for the killing of westerners around the world and in the fatwahs they wrote. If you are against those drone strikes, that's your right. I for one am glad those strikes occured. Do you think it's better if we have a loophole in our system that allows any American citizen free reign to commit any sort of terrorism they please? It wouldn't be long before terrorists would be sending their dozens of wives here to give birth. No matter how much fear you would like to stir up, according to the document, your everyday Joe is not a legitimate target for a drone strike. Everyone is worried "what if the Government lies and kills someone who isn't really a terrorist." Well if that's your concern, why would the existence of this document matter at all since the government could potentially make up any sort of lie to kill whoever they want within the bounds of your hypothetical. We've seen police officers do it, I'm sure the CIA could pull it off too. This document is nothing but a distraction.

The crowd should have been careful as monkeys are known to throw their @!$%# at you.
