4 arrested in Egypt after shoe thrown at Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad meets people as he visits the Al-Hussein mosque, named after Prophet Mohammed's grandson Hussein ibn Ali, in old Cairo on Feb. 5, 2013. Ahmadinejad was both kissed and scolded on Tuesday when he began the first visit to Egypt by an Iranian president since Tehran's 1979 Islamic revolution.

CAIRO -- Egypt's security arrested four men who were protesting outside a Cairo mosque, where the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was praying.

The men, including a Syrian, belong to the ultra-conservative Sunni Salafist movement.

One man threw a shoe at Ahmadinejad, a Shiite, who was never in any danger.

The Al-Hussein Mosque is revered by Shiite Muslims, who are widely disliked by conservative Sunni Muslims, including members of the Muslim Brotherhood. Egypt's President Mohammed Morsi was previously a member of the Brotherhood.

Many Sunni Muslim groups have denounced the Iranian president’s visit to Cairo and have called on Egypt’s government to prevent Ahmadinejad from visiting any religious sites that are significant to Shiite Muslims.

Ahmadinejad met with Sunni Islam's most senior scholar at Al Azhar shortly before he went to pray at the Al-Hussein Mosque.

Yet Lockheed Martin delivered four F-16s to Egypt when they allow the Iranian president Imanutjob to visit? Treason? Nope, It's part of an already established weapons sale program to Egypt. Congress has their panties in a bunch about it right now because the program should have been ammended when Egypt went to crap. Egypt was already becoming a failed state, inviting Iran to have tea really seals the deal.

Just Google F-16s to Egypt. You will find inormation on this issue.

Forget the shoe throwing. Here's the real story. Did anybody else catch this?

"Egypt's President Mohammed Morsi was previously a member of the Brotherhood."

Riggghhht. Yeah, He's all legit now. Hey Ayman Mohyeldin, speak the truth brother!!

Here are some cyber ops for someone. Plant the rumor that Ahmadinejad, a Shiite, called Sunni's lower than a pigs belly. That should easily start a war where the Muslim's begin to kill each other off.

So IdiotJad got a shoe thrown at him, wonder if the Iranian people will shoo him out of town after his term is up?

I was hoping they would do a shoe in and pile them on him until he smothers.

Idiotjad to the moon, I need to set up a fund for it. With enough money one could build a giant sling shot for idiot jad, he could even take an extra pair of shoes with him to throw at moon monkeys and such..

Correction "Egypt's President Mohammed Morsi was previously a member of the Brotherhood" he is a current member of the Brotherhood, he has always been.

Don't you just love the one world government framing political choices into two camps corrupt and corrupt. Reminds me of the US Dems and Reps in Washington. It is so easy for the masses to be manipulated by their pocketbooks and if that fails then the police or military are called into to crush the protests.

A shoe only? If a shoe is a insult then they should have thrown a boot, underwear, socks, and any other filthy dirty piece of apparel they could find. Shame that the Iranian people can't do better then this scum bag who is taking them to the brink of war with Israel and therefore the US.

140gr @ 3,250 fps would have worked also. Just saying.

Isn't it something to do with the bottom of the foot? It is definitely some kind of insult because they throw a lot of shoes over there. Hold on a minute, maybe we need to do a little shoe throwing over here. Just saying.

"he was never in any danger" Your kidding me!! You mean he wasn't wounded by the shoe? Were any other people wounded by the shoe?

One of my worst fears is to be walking down the street and see a gang of kids running at me holding a shoe in each hand.

Obama better not read this or else there may be a 7 day waiting period on shoes.

Okay, the shoe was supposed to have a hand grenade inside. A small setback but we can deal with it. At least the Egyptians are throwing stuff at the devil instead of sitting there kissing his ass. John Kerry is practicing his lip "pucker" on a mirror getting ready for his trips to see the Iranian president and North Korea's petulant little child. After Kerry gets done with those two they won't need to wash their collective asses for a week or so.

What a waste of perfectly good shoe leather. I hope it was pigskin. If the shoe actually hit that little weasel, it will take a lot of work to get the grease off the shoe.

Why does this article make the protesters out to be villainous conservatives who were unprovoked attacking some innocent praying man? This is the Dictator that wants to wipe Americans from the face of the earth and is looking to allign himself with the Egyptian Gov't to accomplish this, who by the way is run by islamist extremeists that we send bilions of dollars annually, go figure!

Anyone with basic knowledge of Islam's history knows that Saudi Arabia is the only place where Sunni and Shia sects can legitimately argue about each other's right to be there.

It's sort of like Americans telling Mexicans they don't belong in the United States. Well, neither do they!
