Iranian mourners carry the flag draped coffin of Hassan Shateri in Tehran, Thursday.
DUBAI - Iran will soon exact revenge on Israel for the recent killing of a Revolutionary Guards commander in Syria, an aide to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was quoted on Saturday as saying.
Iran said on Thursday that an Iranian military commander named Hessam Khoshnevis, also called Hassan Shateri in some news accounts, had been killed in Syria by rebels fighting President Bashar al-Assad, an ally of Tehran.
Syrian rebels accuse Iran's Revolutionary Guard of sending forces to help Assad crush their 22-month-old uprising, a charge denied by the Islamic Republic.
Details of Khoshnevis's killing are sketchy and various accounts have emerged. But Iran's envoy to Beirut Ghazanfar Roknabadi on Thursday drew a link between his killing and Israel.
Ali Shirazi, the representative of Khamenei to the Guards' elite Quds force, said on Friday evening Iran's "resolve against Israel" had only grown stronger with Khoshnevis's killing.
"Our enemies should also know that we will quickly get revenge for (the death of) Haj Hassan (Shateri) from the Israelis, and the enemies cannot shut off the Iranian people with such stupid acts," Shirazi was by the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) on Saturday as saying.
Israel has not commented on the killing.
Israel has hinted at military action against Iran if Tehran continues with a nuclear program which Israel says is aimed at developing a weapon. Iran says its program is peaceful.
Israel is believed to be the Middle East's only nuclear-armed state.
The Revolutionary Guards media office said this week that Khoshnevis had been "martyred on his way from Damascus to Beirut by mercenaries".
The state news agency IRNA said Khoshnevis was a military engineer during the 1980-88 conflict between Iran and Iraq, and had later worked in Afghanistan.
Officials stressed Khoshnevis had been engaged in civilian reconstruction in Lebanon for the last seven years. Iran backs the Lebanese Shi'ite movement Hezbollah, which fought a brief war with Israel seven years ago and allied with Assad.

Is this the truth or just what they want us to think. I'am holding off on judgement..
I wonder what an Iranian Revolutionary Guard general was doing in Syria and Lebanon...
I bet he was just over there to build eco-friendly playgrounds for kids...
Duqu
yeah and the Brooklyn Bridge is still on the real estate market.... in a short sale now! Great sarcasm!!! LOL
That is the question, isn't it? What was he doing in Syria? Giving lessons on quilting? Is Iran really that dumb? Do they really think the rest of the world is? Who may I ask is really that dumb?
iran would look for any excuse to attack israel.
"Iran will soon exact revenge on Israel for the recent killing of a Revolutionary Guards commander in Syria, an aide to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei"
He was killed by Syrian rebels.
With such tenth century desert Shiites' nuts ruling, Shiites and Iran don't need enemies!
And vice versa.
Iran has been threatening Israel for 2000 years.
So my choice is between Israel and Iran I would choose Israel anyday hands down!
I remember the lone Marine gaurd killed protecting our embassy in Iran. I will not forget you sir!
Semper Fi!
I remember the American little girl that the Isreal army dozzed down and killed. What's your point.
I wouldn't put it past Iran to have sent him over knowing he would be killed so that they could use this against Isreal.
Oh it is a two way street so stop trying to snow-job everyone.
Riad Hijab, who defected from his post in Damascus six months ago, also told the Arabic-language news outlet that Iran is “actively running” Syria.
“Syria is occupied by the Iranian regime,” he said. “Who runs the country isn’t Bashar Assad but Kassem Suleimani, the head of Iran’s al-Quds Brigades [within the Revolutionary Guards].”
Hijab’s comments come less than a week after a Washington Post article claimed Iran and Hezbollah were “building a network of militias” in Syria to protect their interests when Assad falls. The militias are fighting alongside the regime, sources told the newspaper, but also preparing for a day-after scenario in which Assad is gone. A senior Obama administration official put the number of Iranian mercenaries in Syria at 50,000.
Also on Friday, activists said some 150 rebels and government troops have been killed in fierce fighting for control of the international airport in the northern city of Aleppo and a major military air base nearby.
The Observatory and the Local Coordination Committees activist group said rebels and President Bashar Assad’s forces were shelling each other in renewed clashes Friday in and around the airports.
The rebels launched a major attack on Aleppo’s civilian airport and the nearby air base of Nairab on Wednesday. They have captured most of the “Brigade 80″ force that is in charge of protecting the area.

Yeah, blame it on Israel........any excuse for an attack on them!
Iran has said they want to wipe Israel off the map. That isn't a "I'll stay on my side you stay on your side." sort of thing. The Ayatollah runs things and their "President" doesn't do anything without consent. There is definitely some gameplaying. Sloppy but maybe they are worried Assad is losing. They need allies right now. Their currency is tanked due to sanctions. I've seen feeds of their own people protesting. Hope and pray that everyone can just settle down and remember that it is citizens that are getting killed too.
Gm Jack, glad you are back. That casket tips any more and we will have a Monty Python moment. Sure would hate to see that.
Nailed it. Exactly right, Jonathan my friend - they're the ones supplying Assad with everything he needs in the first place. Needing enemies? Naaaaaaaaaaah.
Don't disturb obama over this as his golf advenure in Florida and mooches ski trip are too important to our nation. The more we keep obama busy on vacations the less damage he can do to our nation over the next couple years.
HOTTICKET: Appreciations like yours keep me going!
Sometimes, I am opposed to the general opinion or war mongers getting ready for wars in Syria and Iran.
I am for us keeping far away on the side lines and watching their great Shiites vs Sunnis battles on whose Allah is greater.
Of course, I am a Shiites cheerleader as they would do a good job of killing Sunnis.
If Sunnis form 80 percent and brave, then as a revenge they should roast the Shiites with pork!
What do we, poor infidels, have to lose? We can't match them in killings!
Iran uses ANY excuse to start a war or kill Israelis and Americans. It's impossible to have a peace loving religion, that PREACHES violence to NON MUSLIM! A dictator puppet president who poses as a puppet to a dictatator posing as a cleric...all get their advice on HOW to deal with American's, Israel, and the West in general from a book written by a pedophile (yes I'm talking about Muhammed, a man who it says in the quran was married to a girl between the ages of 7 of 8 and who consumated the marriage at 9.)
America has "Always Faithful" as their Marine Corp Motto. Iran has "Death to America." Does nobody else see that the Iranians will NOT stop until war has broken out?

There, watch that. That is the CO-FOUNDER OF HEZBOLLAH AND AN IRANIAN. He has much more insight into the real Islam which none of us could hope to understand without a person like him. You may not agree with what he says on Christianity. That's fine. JUST LISTEN to what he says on Islam though. It's not the wind tearing down thousands of year old buddhist shrines around the world. It's not grass pointing nukes at the Hindu people in India. It wasn't prairie dogs that flew planes into the world trade center. Subway bombings in London, Spain... embassies in Africa and across the world.... wake up people.
Their religion preaches violence against NON MUSLIM. That means they don't care about atheism or agnostic, buddhist...etc. They are out to kill everyone.... Don't believe me? :: fine, this is a looong annoying post, but that's the point, this is the length Islam goes to call war against non believers:
The Quran contains at least 109 verses that call Muslims to war with
nonbelievers for the sake of Islamic rule. Some are quite graphic, with
commands to chop off heads and fingers and kill infidels wherever they may be
hiding. Muslims who do not join the fight are called
'hypocrites' and warned that Allah will send them to Hell if they do not join
the slaughter.
Unlike nearly all of the Old
Testament verses of violence, the verses of violence in the Quran are mostly
open-ended, meaning that they are not restrained by the historical context of
the surrounding text. They are part of the eternal, unchanging word of Allah,
and just as relevant or subjective as anything else in the Quran.
Most of today's Muslims exercise a personal choice to interpret their holy
book's many calls to violence according to what their own moral preconceptions
find justificable. Apologists cater to their preferences with tenuous arguments
that gloss over historical fact and generally do not stand up to scrutiny.
Still, it is important to note that the problem is not bad people,
but bad ideology.
Unfortunately, there are very few verses of tolerance and peace to abrogate
or even balance out the many that call for nonbelievers to be fought and subdued
until they either accept humiliation, convert to Islam, or are killed.
Muhammad's own martial legacy - and that of his companions - along with the
remarkable stress on violence found in the Quran have produced a trail of blood
and tears across world history.
The Quran:
Quran
(2:191-193) - "And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of
the places whence they drove you out, for persecution [of
Muslims] is worse than slaughter [of non-believers]... but if they
desist, then lo! Allah is forgiving and merciful. And fight them until
persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah." The historical
context of this passage is not defensive warfare, since Muhammad and
his Muslims had just relocated to Medina and were not under attack by
their Meccan adversaries. In fact, the verses urge offensive warfare, in
that Muslims are to drive Meccans out of their own city (which they later
did). The use of the word "persecution" by some Muslim translators is thus disingenuous (the actual Muslim words for persecution - "idtihad" - and oppression - a variation of "z-l-m" - do not appear in the verse). The actual Arabic comes from "fitna" which can mean disbelief, or the disorder that results from unbelief or temptation. Taken as a whole, the context makes clear that violence is being authorized until "religion is for Allah" - ie.
unbelievers desist in their unbelief.
Quran
(2:244) - "Then fight in the cause of Allah, and know that Allah Heareth
and knoweth all things."
Quran
(2:216) - "Fighting is prescribed
for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which
is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah
knoweth, and ye know not." Not only does this verse establish that violence
can be virtuous, but it also contradicts the myth that fighting is intended only
in self-defense, since the audience was obviously not under attack at the time.
From the Hadith, we know that this verse was narrated at a time that Muhammad
was actually trying to motivate his people into raiding
merchant caravans for loot.
Quran
(3:56) - "As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible
agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to
help."
Quran
(3:151) - "Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers,
for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no
authority". This speaks directly of polytheists, yet it also includes
Christians, since they believe in the Trinity (ie. what Muhammad incorrectly
believed to be 'joining companions to Allah').
Quran
(4:74) - "Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this
world for the other. Whoso fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he
victorious, on him We shall bestow a vast reward." The martyrs of Islam are
unlike the early Christians, led meekly to the slaughter. These Muslims are
killed in battle, as they attempt to inflict death and destruction for the cause
of Allah. Here is the theological basis for today's suicide bombers.
Quran
(4:76) - "Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah…"
Quran
(4:89) - "They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus
be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until
they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn
renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case)
take no friends or helpers from their ranks."
Quran
(4:95) - "Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no
hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and
their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight
with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in
Faith) Hath Allah promised good: But those who strive and fight Hath He
distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a special reward,-" This
passage criticizes "peaceful" Muslims who do not join in the violence, letting
them know that they are less worthy in Allah's eyes. It also demolishes the
modern myth that "Jihad" doesn't mean holy war in the Quran, but rather a
spiritual struggle. Not only is the Arabic word used in this passage, but it is
clearly not referring to anything spiritual, since the physically
disabled are given exemption. (The Hadith reveals the context of the passage to
be in response to a blind man's protest that he is unable to engage in Jihad and
this is reflected in other translations of the verse).
Quran
(4:104) - "And be not weak hearted in pursuit of the enemy; if you suffer
pain, then surely they (too) suffer pain as you suffer pain..." Is pursuing
an injured and retreating enemy really an act of self-defense?
Quran
(5:33) - "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His
messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should
be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on
opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for
them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous
chastisement"
Quran
(8:12) - "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve.
Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them" No
reasonable person would interpret this to mean a spiritual struggle.
Quran
(8:15) - "O ye who believe! When ye meet those who disbelieve in battle,
turn not your backs to them. (16)Whoso on that day turneth his back to them,
unless maneuvering for battle or intent to join a company, he truly hath
incurred wrath from Allah, and his habitation will be hell, a hapless journey's
end."
Quran
(8:39) - "And fight with them until there is no more fitna (disorder,
unbelief) and religion should be only for Allah" Some translations
interpret "fitna" as "persecution", but the traditional understanding of this
word is not supported by the historical context (See notes for 2:293, also).
The Meccans were simply refusing Muhammad access to their city during Haj.
Other Muslims were allowed to travel there - just not as an armed group, since
Muhammad had declared war on Mecca prior to his eviction. The Meccans were also
acting in defense of their religion, since it was Muhammad's intention to
destroy their idols and establish Islam by force (which he later did). Hence
the critical part of this verse is to fight until "religion is only for
Allah", meaning that the true justification of violence was the unbelief of
the opposition. According to the Sira (Ibn Ishaq/Hisham 324) Muhammad further
explains that "Allah must have no rivals."
Quran
(8:57) - "If thou comest on them in the war, deal with them so as to
strike fear in those who are behind them, that haply they may remember."
Quran
(8:59-60) - "And let not those who disbelieve suppose that they can
outstrip (Allah's Purpose). Lo! they cannot escape. Make ready for them all
thou canst of (armed) force and of horses tethered, that thereby ye may dismay
the enemy of Allah and your enemy."
Quran
(8:65) - "O Prophet, exhort the believers to fight..."
Quran
(9:5) - "So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the
idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captive and besiege them and lie
in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay
the poor-rate, leave their way free to them." According to this verse, the
best way of staying safe from Muslim violence is to convert to Islam (prayer
(salat) and the poor tax (zakat) are among the religion's Five
Pillars). This popular claim that the Quran only inspires violence within the
context of self-defense is seriously challenged by this passage as well, since
the Muslims to whom it was written were obviously not under attack. Had they
been, then there would have been no waiting period (earlier verses make it a
duty for Muslims to fight in self-defense, even during the sacred months). The
historical context is Mecca after the idolaters were subjugated by
Muhammad and posed no threat. Once the Muslims had the power, they violently
evicted those unbelievers who would not convert.
Quran
(9:14) - "Fight them, Allah will punish them by your hands and bring them
to disgrace..."
Quran
(9:20) - "Those who believe, and have left their homes and striven with
their wealth and their lives in Allah's way are of much greater worth in Allah's
sight. These are they who are triumphant." The Arabic word interpreted as
"striving" in this verse is the same root as "Jihad". The context is obviously
holy war.
Quran
(9:29) - "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold
that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor
acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book,
until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."
"People of the Book" refers to Christians and Jews. According to this
verse, they are to be violently subjugated, with the sole justification being
their religious status. This was one of the final "revelations" from Allah and
it set in motion the tenacious military expansion, in which Muhammad's
companions managed to conquer two-thirds of the Christian world in the next 100
years. Islam is intended to dominate all other people and faiths.
Quran
(9:30) - "And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah; and the Christians
say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they
imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how
they are turned away!"
Quran
(9:38-39) - "O ye who believe! what is the matter with you, that, when ye
are asked to go forth in the cause of Allah, ye cling heavily to the earth? Do
ye prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter? But little is the comfort of
this life, as compared with the Hereafter. Unless ye go forth, He will punish
you with a grievous penalty, and put others in your place." This is a
warning to those who refuse to fight, that they will be punished with Hell.
Quran
(9:41) - "Go forth, light-armed and heavy-armed, and strive with your
wealth and your lives in the way of Allah! That is best for you if ye but
knew." See also the verse that follows (9:42)
- "If there had been immediate gain (in sight), and the journey easy, they would
(all) without doubt have followed thee, but the distance was long, (and weighed)
on them" This contradicts the myth that Muslims are to fight only in
self-defense, since the wording implies that battle will be waged a long
distance from home (in another country and on Christian soil, in this case,
according to the historians).
Quran
(9:73) - "O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the
hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the
destination." Dehumanizing those who reject Islam, by reminding Muslims
that they are merely firewood for Hell, makes it easier to justify slaughter.
It also explains why today's devout Muslims have little regard for those outside
the faith.
Quran
(9:88) - "But the Messenger, and those who believe with him, strive and
fight with their wealth and their persons: for them are (all) good things: and
it is they who will prosper."
Quran
(9:111) - "Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their
goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His
cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the
Law, the Gospel, and the Quran: and who is more faithful to his covenant than
Allah? then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the
achievement supreme."
Quran
(9:123) - "O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near
to you and let them find in you hardness."
Quran
(17:16) - "And when We wish to destroy a town, We send Our commandment to
the people of it who lead easy lives, but they transgress therein; thus the word
proves true against it, so We destroy it with utter destruction." Note that
the crime is moral transgression, and the punishment is "utter destruction."
(Before ordering the 9/11 attacks, Osama bin Laden first issued Americans an
invitation to Islam).
Quran
(18:65-81) - This parable lays the theological groundwork for honor
killings, in which a family member is murdered because they brought shame to the
family, either through apostasy or perceived moral indiscretion. The story
(which is not found in any Jewish or Christian source) tells of Moses
encountering a man with "special knowledge" who does things which don't seem to
make sense on the surface, but are then justified according to later
explanation. One such action is to murder a youth for no apparent reason (74).
However, the wise man later explains that it was feared that the boy would
"grieve" his parents by "disobedience and ingratitude." He was killed so that
Allah could provide them a 'better' son. (Note: This is one reason why honor
killing is sanctioned by Sharia. Reliance of the Traveler (Umdat al-Saliq) says
that punishment for murder is not applicable when a parent or grandparent kills
their offspring (o.1.1-2).)
Quran
(21:44) - "We gave the good things of this life to these men and their
fathers until the period grew long for them; See they not that We gradually
reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders? Is it then they
who will win?"
Quran
(25:52) - "Therefore listen not to the Unbelievers, but strive against
them with the utmost strenuousness..." "Strive against" is Jihad -
obviously not in the personal context. It's also significant to point out that
this is a Meccan verse.
Quran
(33:60-62) - "If the hypocrites, and those in whose hearts is a disease,
and the alarmists in the city do not cease, We verily shall urge thee on against
them, then they will be your neighbors in it but a little while. Accursed, they
will be seized wherever found and slain with a (fierce) slaughter." This
passage sanctions the slaughter (rendered "merciless" and "horrible murder" in
other translations) against three groups: Hypocrites (Muslims who refuse to
"fight in the way of Allah" (3:167)
and hence don't act as Muslims should), those with "diseased hearts" (which
include Jews and Christians 5:51-52),
and "alarmists" or "agitators who include those who merely speak out against
Islam, according to Muhammad's biographers. It is worth noting that the victims
are to be sought out by Muslims, which is what today's terrorists do. If this
passage is meant merely to apply to the city of Medina, then it is unclear why
it is included in Allah's eternal word to Muslim generations.
Quran
(47:3-4) - "Those who reject Allah follow vanities, while those who
believe follow the truth from their lord. Thus does Allah set forth form men
their lessons by similitude. Therefore when you meet in battle those who
disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make
(them) prisoners," Those who reject Allah are to be subdued in battle. The
verse goes on to say the only reason Allah doesn't do the dirty work himself is
in order to to test the faithfulness of Muslims. Those who kill pass the test.
"But if it had been Allah's Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution
from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with
others. But those who are slain in the Way of Allah,- He will never let their
deeds be lost."
Quran
(47:35) - "Be not weary and faint-hearted, crying for peace, when ye
should be uppermost (Shakir: "have the upper hand") for Allah is with
you,"
Quran
(48:17) - "There is no blame for the blind, nor is there blame for the
lame, nor is there blame for the sick (that they go not forth to war). And whoso
obeyeth Allah and His messenger, He will make him enter Gardens underneath which
rivers flow; and whoso turneth back, him will He punish with a painful doom."
Contemporary apologists sometimes claim that Jihad means 'spiritual
struggle.' Is so, then why are the blind, lame and sick exempted? This verse
also says that those who do not fight will suffer torment in hell.
Quran
(48:29) - "Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. And those with him are
hard (ruthless) against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves"
Islam is not about treating everyone equally. There are two
very distinct standards that are applied based on religious status. Also the
word used for 'hard' or 'ruthless' in this verse shares the same root as the
word translated as 'painful' or severe' in verse 16.
Quran
(61:4) - "Surely Allah loves those who fight in His way" Religion of
Peace, indeed! This is followed by (61:9):
"He it is who has sent His Messenger (Mohammed) with guidance and the
religion of truth (Islam) to make it victorious over all religions even
though the infidels may resist."
Quran
(61:10-12) - "O ye who believe! Shall I lead you to a bargain that will
save you from a grievous Penalty?- That ye believe in Allah and His Messenger,
and that ye strive (your utmost) in the Cause of Allah, with your property and
your persons: That will be best for you, if ye but knew! He will forgive you
your sins, and admit you to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, and to beautiful
mansions in Gardens of Eternity." This verse was given in battle. It uses
the Arabic word, Jihad.
Quran
(66:9) - "O Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites,
and be stern with them. Hell will be their home, a hapless journey's end."
The root word of "Jihad" is used again here. The context is clearly holy
war, and the scope of violence is broadened to include "hypocrites" - those who
call themselves Muslims but do not act as such.
From the Hadith:
Bukhari
(52:177) - Allah's Apostle said, "The Hour will not be established until
you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will
say. "O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him."
Bukhari
(52:256) - The Prophet... was asked whether it was permissible to attack
the pagan warriors at night with the probability of exposing their women and
children to danger. The Prophet replied, "They (i.e. women and children) are
from them (i.e. pagans)." In this command, Muhammad establishes that it is
permissible to kill non-combatants in the process of killing a perceived enemy.
This provides justification for the many Islamic terror bombings.
Bukhari
(52:65) - The Prophet said, 'He who fights that Allah's Word, Islam,
should be superior, fights in Allah's Cause. Muhammad's words are the basis
for offensive Jihad - spreading Islam by force. This is how it was understood
by his companions, and by the terrorists of today.
Bukhari
(52:220) - Allah's Apostle said... 'I have been made victorious with
terror'
Abu
Dawud (14:2526) - The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: Three things are
the roots of faith: to refrain from (killing) a person who utters, "There is no
god but Allah" and not to declare him unbeliever whatever sin he commits, and
not to excommunicate him from Islam for his any action; and jihad will be
performed continuously since the day Allah sent me as a prophet until the day
the last member of my community will fight with the Dajjal (Antichrist)
Abu
Dawud (14:2527) - The Prophet said: Striving in the path of Allah (jihad)
is incumbent on you along with every ruler, whether
he is pious or impious
Muslim
(1:33) - the Messenger of Allah said: I have been commanded to fight
against people till they testify that there is no god but Allah, that Muhammad
is the messenger of Allah
Bukhari
(8:387) - Allah's Apostle said, "I have been ordered to fight the people
till they say: 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah'. And if they say
so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then
their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with
them except legally."
Muslim
(1:30) - "The Messenger of Allah said: I have been commanded to fight
against people so long as they do not declare that there is no god but
Allah."
Bukhari
(11:626) - [Muhammad said:] "I decided to order a man to lead the
prayer and then take a flame to burn all those, who had not left their houses
for the prayer, burning them alive inside their homes."
Muslim
(1:149) - "Abu Dharr reported: I said: Messenger of Allah, which of the
deeds is the best? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: Belief in Allah and Jihad in
His cause..."
Muslim
(20:4645) - "...He (the Messenger of Allah) did that and said: There is
another act which elevates the position of a man in Paradise to a grade one
hundred (higher), and the elevation between one grade and the other is equal to
the height of the heaven from the earth. He (Abu Sa'id) said: What is that act?
He replied: Jihad in the way of Allah! Jihad in the way of Allah!"
Muslim
(20:4696) - "the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: 'One
who died but did not fight in the way of Allah nor did he express any desire (or
determination) for Jihad died the death of a hypocrite.'"
Muslim
(19:4321-4323) - Three separate hadith in which Muhammad shrugs over the
news that innocent children were killed in a raid by his men against
unbelievers. His response: "They are of them (meaning the enemy)."
Muslim
(19:4294) - "When the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) appointed
anyone as leader of an army or detachment he would especially exhort him... He
would say: Fight in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah. Fight against
those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war... When you meet your enemies
who are polytheists, invite them to three courses of action. If they respond to
any one of these, you also accept it and withhold yourself from doing them any
harm. Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them
and desist from fighting against them... If they refuse to accept Islam, demand
from them the Jizya. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your
hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah's help and fight them.
Tabari 7:97 The morning after the murder of Ashraf, the Prophet
declared, "Kill any Jew who falls under your power." Ashraf was a poet,
killed by Muhammad's men because he insulted Islam. Here, Muhammad widens the
scope of his orders to kill. An innocent Jewish businessman was then slain by
his Muslim partner, merely for being non-Muslim.
Tabari 9:69 "Killing Unbelievers is a small matter to us" The
words of Muhammad, prophet of Islam.
Tabari 17:187 "'By God, our religion (din) from which we have
departed is better and more correct than that which these people follow. Their
religion does not stop them from shedding blood, terrifying the roads, and
seizing properties.' And they returned to their former religion." The words
of a group of Christians who had converted to Islam, but realized their error
after being shocked by the violence and looting committed in the name of Allah.
The price of their decision to return to a religion of peace was that the men
were beheaded and the woman and children enslaved by the caliph Ali.
Ibn Ishaq/Hisham
327: - “Allah said, ‘A
prophet must slaughter before collecting captives. A slaughtered enemy is driven
from the land. Muhammad, you craved the desires of this world, its goods and the
ransom captives would bring. But Allah desires killing them to manifest the
religion.’”
Ibn Ishaq/Hisham
990: - Lest anyone think that
cutting off someone's head while screaming 'Allah Akbar!' is a modern creation,
here is an account of that very practice under Muhammad, who seems to
approve.
Ibn Ishaq/Hisham 992:
- "Fight everyone in the way
of Allah and kill those who disbelieve in Allah." Muhammad's instructions
to his men prior to a military raid.
Saifur Rahman, The Sealed Nectar
p.227-228 - "Embrace Islam... If you two accept Islam, you will remain
in command of your country; but if your refuse my Call, you’ve got to remember
that all of your possessions are perishable. My horsemen will appropriate your
land, and my Prophethood will assume preponderance over your kingship." One
of several letters from Muhammad to rulers of other countries. The significance
is that the recipients were not making war or threatening Muslims. Their
subsequent defeat and subjugation by Muhammad's armies was justified merely on
the basis of their unbelief.
Additional Notes:
Other than the fact that Muslims haven't killed every
non-Muslim under their domain, there is very little else that they can point to
as proof that theirs is a peaceful, tolerant religion. Where Islam is dominant
(as in the Middle East and Pakistan) religious minorities suffer brutal
persecution with little resistance. Where Islam is in the minority (as in
Thailand, the Philippines and Europe) there is the threat of violence if Muslim
demands are not met. Either situation seems to provide a justification for
religious terrorism, which is persistent and endemic to Islamic
fundamentalism.
The reasons are obvious and begin with the Quran. Few verses
of Islam's most sacred text can be construed to fit the contemporary virtues of
religious tolerance and universal brotherhood. Those that do are earlier
"Meccan" verses which are obviously abrogated by later ones. This is why Muslim
apologists speak of the "risks" of trying to interpret the Quran without their
"assistance" - even while claiming that it is a perfect book.
Far from being mere history or theological construct, the
violent verses of the Quran have played a key role in very real massacre and
genocide. This includes the brutal slaughter of tens of millions of Hindus for
five centuries beginning around 1000 AD with Mahmud of Ghazni's bloody
conquest. Both he and the later Tamerlane (Islam's Genghis Khan) slaughtered an
untold number merely for defending their temples from destruction. Buddhism was
very nearly wiped off the Indian subcontinent. Judaism and Christianity met the
same fate (albeit more slowly) in areas conquered by Muslim armies, including
the Middle East, North Africa and parts of Europe, including today's Turkey.
Zoroastrianism, the ancient religion of a proud Persian people is despised by
Muslims and barely survives in modern Iran.
So ingrained is violence in the religion that Islam has never
really stopped being at war, either with other religions or with itself.
Muhammad was a military leader, laying siege to towns, massacring
the men, raping
their women, enslaving their children, and taking the property of others as his
own. On several occasions he rejected offers of surrender from the besieged
inhabitants and even butchered captives.
He actually inspired his followers to battle when they did not feel it was right
to fight, promising them slaves and booty if they did and threatening them with
Hell if they did not. Muhammad allowed his men to rape traumatized women
captured in battle, usually on the very day their husbands and family members
were slaughtered.
It is important to emphasize that, for the most part, Muslim
armies waged aggressive campaigns, and the religion's most dramatic
military conquests were made by the actual companions of Muhammad in the decades
following his death. The early Islamic principle of warfare was that the
civilian population of a town was to be destroyed (ie. men executed, women and
children taken as slaves) if they defended themselves. Although modern
apologists often claim that Muslims are only supposed to attack in self-defense,
this is an oxymoron that is flatly
contradicted by the accounts of Islamic historians and others that go back
to the time of Muhammad.
Consider the example of the Qurayza Jews, who were completely
obliterated only five years after Muhammad arrived in Medina. Their leader
opted to stay neutral when their town was besieged by a Meccan army that was
sent to take revenge for Muhammad's deadly caravan raids. The tribe killed no
one from either side and even surrendered peacefully to Muhammad after the
Meccans had been turned back. Yet the prophet of Islam had every male member of
the Qurayza beheaded, and every woman and child enslaved, even raping one of the
captives himself (what Muslim apologists might refer to as "same day
marriage").
One of Islam's most revered modern scholars, Sheikh Yusuf
al-Qaradawi, openly sanctions offensive Jihad: "In the Jihad which you are
seeking, you look for the enemy and invade him. This type of Jihad takes place only when the Islamic state is invading other
[countries] in order to spread the word of
Islam and to remove obstacles standing in its way." Elsewhere, he
notes: "Islam has the right to take the initiative…this is God’s religion and
it is for the whole world. It has the right to destroy all obstacles in the form
of institutions and traditions … it attacks institutions and traditions to
release human beings from their poisonous influences, which distort human nature
and curtail human freedom. Those who say that Islamic Jihad was merely for the
defense of the 'homeland of Islam' diminish the greatness of the Islamic way of
life."
The widely respected Dictionary of Islam
defines Jihad as "A religious war with those who are unbelievers in the
mission of Muhammad. It is an incumbent religious duty, established in the
Qur'an and in the Traditions as a divine institution, and enjoined specially for
the purpose of advancing Islam and of repelling evil from Muslims…[Quoting from
the Hanafi school, Hedaya, 2:140, 141.], "The destruction of the sword is
incurred by infidels, although they be not the first aggressors, as appears
from various passages in the traditions which are generally received to this
effect."
Muhammad's failure to leave a clear line of succession
resulted in perpetual internal war following his death. Those who knew him best
first fought to keep remote tribes from leaving Islam and reverting to their
preferred religion (the Ridda or 'Apostasy wars'). Then, within the closer
community, early Meccan converts battled later ones. Hostility developed
between those immigrants who had traveled with Muhammad to Mecca and the Ansar
at Medina who had helped them settle in. Finally there was a violent struggle
within Muhammad's own family between his favorite wife and favorite daughter - a
jagged schism that has left Shias and Sunnis at each others' throats to this
day.
The strangest and most untrue thing that can be said about
Islam is that it is a Religion of Peace. If every standard by which the West is
judged and condemned (slavery, imperialism, intolerance, misogyny, sexual
repression, warfare...) were applied equally to Islam, the verdict would be
devastating. Islam never gives up what it conquers, be it religion, culture,
language or life. Neither does it make apologies or any real effort at moral
progress. It is the least open to dialogue and the most self-absorbed. It is
convinced of its own perfection, yet brutally shuns self-examination and
represses criticism.
This is what makes the Quran's verses of violence so
dangerous. They are given the weight of divine command. While Muslim
terrorists take them as literally as anything else in their holy book, and
understand that Islam is incomplete without Jihad, moderates offer little to
contradict them - outside of opinion. Indeed, what do they have? Speaking of
peace and love may win over the ignorant, but when every twelfth verse of
Islam's holiest book either speaks to Allah's hatred for non-Muslims or calls
for their death, forced conversion, or subjugation, it's little wonder that
sympathy for terrorism runs as deeply as it does in the
broader community - even if most Muslims personally prefer not to interpret
their religion in this way.
Although scholars like Ibn Khaldun, one of Islam's most
respected philosophers, understood that "the holy war is a religious duty,
because of the universalism of the Muslim mission and (the obligation to)
convert everybody to Islam either by persuasion or by force", many other
Muslims are either unaware or willfully ignorant of the Quran's near absence of
verses that preach universal non-violence. Their understanding of Islam comes
from what they are taught by others. In the West, it is typical for believers
to think that their religion must be like Christianity - preaching the New
Testament virtues of peace, love, and tolerance - because Muslims are taught
that Islam is supposed to be superior in
every way. They are somewhat surprised and embarrassed to learn that the
evidence of the Quran and the bloody history of Islam are very much in
contradiction to this.
Others simply accept the violence. In 1991, a Palestinian
couple in America was convicted of stabbing their daughter to death for being
too Westernized. A family friend came to their defense, excoriating the jury
for not understanding the "culture", claiming that the father was merely
following "the religion" and saying that the couple had to "discipline their
daughter or lose respect." (source).
In 2011, unrepentant Palestinian terrorists, responsible for the brutal murders
of civilians, women and children explicitly in
the name of Allah were treated to a luxurious "holy pilgrimage" to Mecca by the
Saudi king - without a single Muslim voice raised in protest.
For their part, Western liberals would do well not to
sacrifice critical thinking to the god of political correctness, or look for
reasons to bring other religion down to the level of Islam merely to avoid the
existential truth that this it is both different and dangerous.
There are just too many Muslims who take the Quran
literally... and too many others who couldn't care less about the violence done
in the name of Islam.
Just watch the video I linked though, in my opinion there is nothing quite like hearing it from an Iranian and the Co-Founder of Hezbollah.
I remember the American little girl that the Isreal army dozzed down and killed. What's your point.
Jerusalem: The news that a senior Islamic Jihad terrorist, Shadi Sukiya, was captured by an elite anti-terror unit of the Israel Defense Forces while hiding out in the Jenin offices of the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) did not make a ripple in the flood of coverage from the Iraqi front in late March 2003.
Just eleven days earlier, on March 16, the ISM did make world headlines when Rachel Corrie, a 23-year-old ISM member, was run over by an Israeli bulldozer in Rafah and died of her injuries.
Maybe the fact that a "peace organization" was found to be defending terrorists twice in a two-week period will factor into the inquiry called by several Washington state congressional representatives into the circumstances of Rachel Corrie's death.
With the fifth anniversary of Corrie's death having just passed us, only one thing remains certain about the events of March 16: Corrie died in Rafah, on the southern edge of the Gaza Strip, under very questionable circumstances.
The questions remain: Is Israel responsible for Corrie's death, or do the doctors at the Arab hospital where she was taken still alive after the accident bear any responsibility? What about the ISM that organizes protests in a closed military zone and encourages its members to play cat and mouse among the tanks and bulldozers? Or the Arabs who invite the "internationals" to risk their lives in a war zone? How she died, exactly where she passed her last moments and who should take the blame for Rachel Corrie's death are questions that demand answers.
The inconsistencies in eyewitness testimony raise doubts about the simplistic conclusions drawn ever since the event.
By all accounts, Rachel Corrie was one of a group of protesters attempting to disrupt the work of two IDF bulldozers leveling ground to detonate explosives in an area rife with terrorist activity. The bulldozers moved to a different area to avoid the protesters, and Corrie became separated from the group. Some of the agitators stood with a banner, while Corrie picked up a bullhorn and yelled slogans at the driver encased in the small cabin of the dozer. This went on for several hours on the afternoon of March 16. It's the kind of activity favored by the young pro-Palestinian types who make up the ISM.
There wasn't enough action for Corrie. According to fellow Evergreen State College student, Joseph Smith, 21, who was at the site, Corrie dropped her bullhorn and sat down in front of one of the bulldozers. She fully expected that the driver would stop just in front of her. "We were horribly surprised," Smith told me by phone from Rafah the day after the incident. "They had been careful not to hurt us. They'd always stopped before," he said.
As the dozer plowed forward heaping up a pile of dirt and sand, Corrie scrambled up the pile to sit on the top. Smith says she lost her footing as the bulldozer made the earth move beneath her feet. She got pulled down, he says. "The driver lost sight of her and continued forward. Then, without lifting the blade he reversed and Rachel was underneath the mid-section of the dozer, she wasn't run over by the tread."
Capt. Jacob Dellal of the IDF spokespersons office confirms what Smith says about the driver: he lost sight of Rachel. Inside the cab, some six feet off the ground, visibility is very restricted. The protesters should have known that and kept within the driver's line of sight to avoid getting hurt, Dellal asserts.
The strange thing about this part of the story is the discrepancy over the photos given to the press and posted on several pro-Arab websites.
As Smith describes to me his version of events, I ask about the series of photos printed in an Arab newspaper I picked up the morning after the incident, in Jerusalem's Old City. "They aren't of the actual incident," he states firmly. "We'd been there for three hours already, we were tired, we already had a lot of pictures."
Yet these are the pictures used on the ISM website to document the before and after of Rachel's interaction with the bulldozer. The same pictures are featured as a photo-essay on the site of Electronic Intifada, where they're even attributed to Joseph Smith.
There are several shots of the back of a woman with a blond ponytail facing a bulldozer. She's standing in an open field, wearing an orange fluorescent jacket, holding a megaphone.
Even Michael Shaik, the ISM media coordinator at the time, wouldn't confirm that these are pictures of Corrie taken the day she died. "I'm fairly sure they're of the incident," he tells me by phone from his Bethlehem office. In the same conversation, Shaik asks me not to contact Joe, Greg or Tom, the Rafah ISM eyewitnesses again directly: "They're still in trauma."
The pictures should have raised all kinds of questions to photo editors, but all the major newspapers and wire services chose to run the photos regardless. If there are pictures of Rachel before and after, why didn't the same photographer consider it important to document the act of the bulldozer running her down?
Where is the mound of earth Rachel clambered up and was buried in? The woman shown lying bleeding from her nose and mouth is lying on a flat piece of ground.
So, Corrie was either knocked down by the dozer, or fell in front of it. ISMers assume that she was intentionally run over, but there's no proof that was the driver's intent.
The real issue is, was Rachel alive when she was taken by Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance to Martyr Mohammed Yousef An Najar Hospital? In other words, where did she die? Were adequate efforts made to save her in the hospital?
Again, there are conflicting stories. Joseph Smith tells me in a telephone interview the day after the tragedy, "She died in the hospital or on the way to the hospital." CNN also reported that Rachel died there. (Israeli bulldozer runs over 23-year-old woman. CNN, Monday, March 17, 2003)
In his account posted on www.arabia.com, ISMer Tom Dale has a slightly different story. On March 17 he writes: "I ran for an ambulance, she was gasping and her face was covered in blood from a gash cutting her face from lip to cheek. She was showing signs of brain hemorrhaging. She died in the ambulance a few minutes later of massive internal injuries."
But Dr. Ali Mussa, director of Martyr Mohammed Yousef An Najar Hospital where Corrie was taken, seems confused. On the day of the event, Dr. Mussa tells AP Gaza reporter Ibrahim Barzak that Rachel died in the hospital. (American Killed in Gaza. AP. March 16, 2003)
One week later, in a telephone interview, Dr. Mussa states definitively to me that Rachel died at the scene, "in the soil," as he puts it. The main cause of death was suffocation, Mussa asserts. There were no signs of life, no heartbeat or pulse when she arrived at the hospital, he says. Mussa states that Rachel's ribs were fractured, a fact determined by X-rays.
Doesn't quite jive with the photo essay on the pages of the Electronic Intifada website for March 16, 2003. (Photo story: Israeli bulldozer driver murders American peace activist by Nigel Parry and Arjan El Fassed, The Electronic Intifada, 16 March 2003.)
A caption under one photo of doctors leaning over a female patient reads: Rachel arrived in the Emergency Room at 5:05 p.m and doctors scrambled to save her. By 5:20 p.m, she was gone. Ha'aretz newspaper reported that Dr. Ali Mussa, a doctor at Al Najar, stated that the cause of death was skull and chest fractures. Dr. Mussa told me he was one of the treating physicians, yet he alone maintains that Rachel was dead before she was put into the ambulance.
To further complicate matters, on that same website, a report from the Palestine Monitor is cited. Here, the writer says that Rachel fractured her arms, legs and skull. She was transferred to hospital, where she later died, says this report.
Just who is Dr. Ali Mussa? Clearly a man in favor with the Palestine Authority hierarchy. Dr. Mussa's views are aired on the official website of the PA's Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation: (January 27, 2003)
There, Dr. Mussa accuses Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's "terrorist government" of deliberately killing Palestinian children in Rafah.
A few days after the incident, ISM Media Coordinator Shaik tells me by phone from Rafah that three ISMers, Tom, Alice and Greg were in the ambulance with Rachel. She died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital, says Michael.
But Greg Schnabel, 28, who is quoted in numerous wire service and newspaper stories, never says he witnessed the death of his comrade in the ambulance. In his account published a few days later on the ISM website, he carefully states that she died twenty minutes after arriving at the hospital.
What happened to Rachel's body after her death? Depends whom you ask. Dr. Mussa says it was kept for 24 hours at the hospital before a Red Crescent ambulance transported it to the US Embassy in Tel Aviv, via the border where an Israeli ambulance took over. l Shaik says "we lost track of it (her body) after she died." Three ISMers tried to escort the body, but only one was permitted on the ambulance on the Israeli side. According to his account, the ambulance drove straight to the Israeli Forensic Institute at Abu Kabir, where an autopsy was performed. The Israelis are trying to say she died from a blow to the head by a rock, Shaik recounts.
Speaking about the autopsy, one of Rachel's ISM trainers, Iowa native LeAnne Clausen, a fieldworker for the Christian Peacemaker Team based in Beit Sahour, tells me: "The general sentiment within ISM is that the Israelis are trying to suggest perhaps Rachel was on drugs."
In reality, IDF spokesperson Dellal says that initial Israeli investigation results indicate that the cause of death was most likely a blow to the head and chest by a blunt object, possibly a chunk of cement dug up by the bulldozer.
In keeping with ISM sympathies, Rachel received a shaheed (martyr) procession in Rafah, the day after her death. But here again, there's confusion between reality and photo op. Some accounts noted that her coffin draped in an American flag was paraded through the streets. Yet a picture on the site of her college town's peace movement, the Olympia Movement for Justice and Peace, shows Arab women holding a coffin covered by a Palestinian flag with the caption: Palestinian funeral for Rachel.
Confusion and obfuscation seem to be a trademark of the ISM. In May 2002, a number of ISMers raced past Israeli soldiers into the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, where dozens of Palestinian terrorists had holed up to evade capture by the IDF outside. After an agreement was reached, the ISM members refused to leave the church, holding up the solution. Then they charged that they were mistreated by clergy, who claimed the ISMers desecrated the church by smoking and drinking alcohol.
Another revealing ISM action took place shortly before the Bethlehem incident, when a number of protesters managed to make their way past IDF barricades into Yasser Arafat's Ramallah compound to protect the terrorist leader.
Strange, given the fact that most ISMers are avowed anarchists decrying any kind of governmental authority. Corrie's Swedish boyfriend and fellow ISMer told a reporter for Seattle's The Stranger newspaper, (April 4, 2003) that Corrie could be described as an anarchist.
Still, the politics of the Ismers are predictable. Another Evergreen student who arrived in Israel around the same time as Corrie says he has "been at war with the multinational corporations for some time now." His "baptism of fire" took place at the World Trade Organization protests in Seattle, he proclaims.
Joe Smith, recounts his motivation to join forces with the ISM . "Because I felt it was one of the best ways for me to use my privilege as a white middle class American male to directly serve impoverished people of color who are under-privileged due to the Israeli and other Western governments, especially mine.
I have dedicated my life to serving such people (ed. Arabs), as I believe my over-privilege is a direct result of their under-privilege. I have benefited from their suffering, and this must stop."
ISM activity in Rafah has more to do with being used to defend terrorists than preventing suffering of the masses. IDF efforts in Rafah were concentrated on preventing the flow of arms and explosives over the border from Egypt into the terrorist's dens that riddled the area. Less than a week after Rachel died defending terrorists, Israeli tanks moved into Rafah , surrounded several houses, and arrested two Hamas members. IDF spokesperson, Dellal calls Rafah, "the most dangerous area in the West Bank and Gaza," and decries the provocative protests of ISM. "There's nothing wrong with civil disobedience, but these people crossed the line of what was safe for everyone," Dellal says.
So, while the memorial services laud and remember Rachel Corrie as a peace activist murdered by Israeli occupation forces, the truth lies elsewhere.
An Israeli bulldozer injured Corrie as she tried to prevent it doing its job of protecting Israeli civilians, but she was alive when she was taken to An Najar Hospital, according to at least three eyewitnesses. Only Dr. Mussa, a man intent on accusing Israel of child killing, claims otherwise. None of Rachel's comrades have stated they were with her in the hospital when she died. No one has commented on the extent of efforts to preserve Corrie's life at An Najar.
And all the while, the ISM continues to encourage misguided young people from around the world, like Rachel Corrie, to spend time in the Middle East providing cover for terrorists
Do you really expect people to read all this?
IRAN’S leading nuclear scientist, Mohsen FakhrizadehMahabadi, is believed to have travelled to North Korea to observe its third nuclear test last week, according to western intelligence sources.
http://www.thesundaytimes.co.uk/sto/news/world_news/Middle_East/article1215608.ece
"Fakhrizadeh-Mahabadi has ventured outside Iran rarely, if at all, since several Iranian nuclear scientists were assassinated in attacks blamed by Tehran on the Israeli intelligence service Mossad," reports the Times. "He is in charge of developing a warhead small enough to fit on to one of the ballistic missiles developed by Iran from North Korean prototypes, the sources said. His trip may have been worth the risk because North Korea’s triumphant announcement of the blast hinted that it was a compact, powerful device."
Yeah, thank God we have Hagel to the rescue! SARCASM!!!
Just watch the Co-Founder of Hezbollah and an Iranian himself tell you what Iran's real plans are concerning the West and Israel. I can't stress enough, he is the CO-FOUNDER OF HEZBOLLAH AND IRANIAN, and therefore has a greater understanding of Islam/iran and Israel/U.S. ....at least more than anyone on here.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7qrybtztJw
There are four parts, I hope this opens some peoples eyes. One may not agree with his stance on Christianity, but please listen to what he says about Iran and Islam.
I thank you pulsar for at least pointing out facts instead of jumping to conclusions like so many do in this site. Also I would suggest people who wonder how this girl was ran over (she was a adult at 23so maybe we should call her a woman instead). She made her decision to try to protect property of terrorist that were found tried and convicted of building explosives that at the time were used by suicide bombers. Israel rather then sit back and do nothing told the Palestinians that any home used in these activities or property purchased out of blood money paid by Muslim nations to suicide bombers surviving members would be destroyed (and rightfully so they were purchased from money paid out for killing innocent civilians).
I would also suggest that you actually google a combat bulldozer and see how good the visibility is on these vehicles. I would suggest that to stay in a large group and protest would be very easily noticeable but to break off and jump in front of one might very well end up with the adult not being seen because these things are heavily armoured for the sake of protecting the operator.
I think that yes, she might have not needed to be ran over, but also that it was not the smartest thing to jump in front of these big beast with limited visibility.
Also, maybe she should have rather chosen to protest at a better site then a weapons manufacturing and assembly site that was used against civilians. It amazes me how these people cry out in outrage against Israel for protecting themselves and doing what every nation in the world would do (and of course because it is not Israel it is acceptable and not ever one word out of these people over that).
So maybe instead of protesting the tearing down of a weapons assembly area, why wasn't she protesting the attacks on innocent women and children on buses and in shopping malls.
In the end I chalk it up to a very naive student or young adult that refused to look at the whole picture and allowed herself to be manipulated by the Palestinians for propaganda. If anyone thinks that they actually cared about her physical well being, I would suggest you google the speech by a Ha-mas leader who openly stated that they put women and children around rocket and missile sites because if Israel retaliates the political points of the death far outweighs the actual danger these people are put in. And then the thinking goes if these people are willing to sacrifice their own women and children, how much do you actually think they care about infidels that are protesting for them?

And the Iranians have what to show that the Israelis caused this man's death? Absolutely 0, but in their pea brains they blame Israel for everything. What sad little childish minds they have.
Rachel Corrie was a useful idiot of the terrorist group Hamas.
No more, no less.
.
Me too, Jonathan but actually, I wouldn't mind seeing Hamas and Hezbollah go at it. It would make for great must see t.v. :)
Popcorn and beer, anyone?
HOTTICKET: Great!
Popcorn and beer: ready to join!
About Hamas and Fatah: I feel Israel also needs to clean them up once for all.
Just go on sending rockets and air drop leaflets: run to Saudi Arabia and have Mecca as capital for Hamas and Fatah for Medina.
Hezbollah can fight with Assad or else hide behind women niqabs or basements of Shiites' mosques with their Ayotallah's dresses.
Then slowly bomb the Shiites' mosques after Sunnis are done with them.
Seems like nowadays all you have to do is look cross eyed at Iran and they will be vowing revenge. Same goes for North Korea or Venezuela. The Iranian media and authorities cannot seem to get their own stories straight as to what this guy was doing where he was or how he allegedly died, and yet they now want to blame Israel. Like was said in the movie "Jerry McGuire" with Tom Cruise. Iran needs to "Show me the money." and provide some real proof instead of just accusations!
Here goes an Iranian commander who could not defend himself!
Put a woman's niqab/burkha on that coward's dead body.
Of course, Ayotallahs and their gangs should bark at their loudest even if they can't save Assad!
Dumb people back Iran.
And its a good thing they live in a country where they don't hang you for being stupid. Because if they lived in Iran, they'd be dead already.
I don't think installing a tyrant in Iran was correct. But when the response is not only a revolution, but even more terrible acts against your own population, you give up your moral high ground.
Israel could drop incendiary rounds on Iran and as horrible as it is, they STILL wouldn't have done anything as bad as what ran does to its own people. So if you think Iran is awesome, go move there, so you can be surrounded by people who think like you.
Yep and our Islam friendly Communist in Chief helped the Islamists get control.. They are oppressing Christians right on que and arresting them for the evil of spreading Christianity in their land.. Gee we did not see any of this coming did we.. Our dear leader is really showing his superior foreign policy leadership..
Hey Iran, how about you stay the @!$%# out of Syria?
How about about you Christians stay the @!$%# out of countries where it's illegal to preach Christianity? I know it's a total slap in the face that not everyone wants to believe in your version of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. What do you want Obama to do? March in with an army of loyal Christian soldiers and convert them all at the end of a gun barrel?
Never mind, that was stupid of me, of course you do...
And you somehow think this just started under Obama? Funny how religions are so intolerant of each other, eh?
Yet you think Israel could bomb them and it's still less that what Iran does to itself?
No one is saying Iran is awesome, but some of us are saying Israel isn't always innocent. For some of you, Israel can do no wrong, even when it is doing wrong.
We spent decades installing leaders in the ME. Now it's all finally falling apart.
How about about you Christians stay the @!$%# out of countries where it's illegal to preach Christianity?
What countries would that be and why would a religion such as Christianity be illegal?
...and the hundreds of NATO bombing raids in Libya were humanitarian intervention.
Because history has shown us that this Iranian regime has attacked so many other nations in the past ? Hmmmmm............I can't think of one time that Iran attack any country first.

Do you really expect people to read all this?
Don't you want to know the truth about Rachael Corrie?...What if it is true that she was in fact alive when she was taken to that Arab hospital and the Muslims finished her off to promote their hate Israel agenda? Rachael Corrie was a useful tool of the Islamists....
Rachel Corrie sat down in front of a Caterpillar bulldozer. I have seen enough of them in my own area to know that once the scoop is up, the driver cannot see what's in front of him. And ALL the onlookers on both side agree that they screamed for him to stop and he immediately tried to back up, which only made matters worse. I don't know how this ever became a political issue, even for the pro-Palestinians.
...
@Superskunk, can't think of any country Iran has attacked first. You should really catch up on your persian history. Oh, and Superskunk, the motto for the Iranian Army is "Death to America." I think that implies the level this regime is willing to go to for the sake of Islamic Law. Iran has also (or "this regime" as you have said) been linked to terrorists in Yemen and Israel. Also "This Regime" of yours fully backs, supports and founded Hezbollah, an organization that lives to kill Jews and Christians in Israel.
Libya for one, and because they say so.
http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/02/16/16989109-4-arrested-in-libya-for-trying-to-spread-christianity?lite=
This already stinks horribly of U.S. coercion and involvement, you may not think so but I can smell it from this far away. I say If they insist on killing each other, as they have for thousands of years,we need to stand clear and let them. The U.S. isn't so sinless, we have screwed up things to much already all over the globe, its no wonder most of the world hates us, we've just got to stick our nose in where it don't belong.
marywhatever only knows what the lib media tells her she should know.
Iran is meddling in the affairs of many countries, sponsors terrorism, is enriching uranium, and all the while it thumbs it's nose at the world. When is the world going to respond and take out that poisonous leadership?
Ah my old friend astounding, once again proving your name.
I guess for the narrow/small minded I should have been more specific. Since the current leadership in Iran took over after the Iranian Revolution of '79, who has Iran attacked first ?
The baseless "links" your claiming are the same baseless "links" the Iranian government is trying to claim in this story.
I don't support the religiously fundamental Iranian or Israeli leadership, I support the truth, peace, and the good citizens in both those countries. Because they're the ones that will see the worst of any armed conflict between the two.
Libya for one, and because they say so.
Christianity is not illegal in Libya....it's just not tolerated.....same in most Muslim countries...by using its draconian Islamic policies Islam is slowly eradicating all non Muslim religions
@ Pulsar, that is incorrect. Sharia Law is the basis of the Libyan law, and therefore all relgious views, not excluding Aethism are deemd heretical... and punishable by beheading...
Nice to know, so is a woman speaking in a man's presence without permission...
I notice that often when a Zionists makes a post of outrageous lies, such as "astounding" on posts 1.22 and 1.48, Newsvine doesn't have a reply button beneath the post for an immediate rebuttal. That effectively eliminates a timely response.
I challenge him to prove anyone in Iran founded Hezbollah. Iran has not started a war with another country in almost 200 years. That is a fact. He should check his Persian history, because his is lacking or else he is only attempting to post Zionist propaganda.
See "astounding", Iran, as a Persian nation, is rich in resources, unlike the s-thole called Israel. They don't need anything from Israel, so there is no desire to attack Israel. Israel is always hell bent on annexing other countries resources, which is why they started the 1967 war. Israel has designs on expanding their empire and see Iran as a future threat to their dominance in the region. They want that threat eliminated, as was Iraq and now Syria. They are now spreading false propaganda in an effort to garner American support for an attack on Iran. The Israelis are the worlds biggest war mongers, sad to say, they are followed closely by America.
RalphH: I think your paranoia is getting the best of you. No post, including your own, has a reply button under it because they are all under a single thread.... and, just so there's no confusion, I'm not referring to the thread that is used in sewing.
Israel started the 1967 war? You are definitely the recipient of Iranian propaganda! Read unbiased history (if there is such a thing). You will find that Israel's neighbors attacked them with the total destruction of Israel as their intent. Israel, however, surprised them and the world by fighting back with superior military intellect and ferocity and won in a very short time.
Iran has not started a war in 200 years? Have you forgotten your long and bloody war with Iraq? Or was that Iraq's fault as well? Have you forgotten Iran's support of terrorism worldwide? Or is that just something that Zionists have made up? If so, try telling that to to the families of the countless murdered men, women, and children taken by the hand of Iranian Sponsored Terrorism.
America and Israel would not have to be the war mongers you accuse them of if states like Iran did not continually call for the total annihilation of soveriegn countries. It would also help if Iran abided by International demands that they not pursue nuclear weapons in order to successfully fulfill their threats to wipe Israel off the map.
Unfortunately, you, like so many of your friends, have your minds made up already from the life long ingestion of hatred fed to you by your fellow Islamic Jihadists. Too bad.
I'm sure the Israeli's are Shaking in their boots right now.......... LMAO
RalphH……1.56
I am trying hard not to write anything derogatory about your comment, but please stop smoking that stuff; it’s frying your brain.
I suppose Israel is to be blamed for problems in Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Sudan, Yemen, Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Pakistan and now Syria? I don’t think so! But, I wonder why there are Iranian footprints all over every one of these countries?
Could you please enlighten me with your wisdom on this?
Both sides have a beef with each other. Israel has been threatened, but without any tangable force behind it. Iran's scientists have been assasinated along with the threats from Israel.
@Ralph - Sorry, you're comment isn't really worth my time. But suffice to say your "zionist" this and that betray you for a muslim supporter. "When zionists make a statement...." guess what man, this is America, not Iran, a "zionists" as you state I am, has as much right to make a statement as any other person, ... But since you ask for me to show you PROOF of anyone in IRAN founding Hezbollah, go here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7qrybtztJw
That's the CO-FOUNDER OF HEZBOLLAH AND AN IRANIAN GIVING YOU A LECTURE....watch it instead of asking for your proof when everyone knows Hezbollah and Iran are linked.
@superskunk - You support the truth, your post so says. Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici.
When you bother to actually see the root of the problem isn't bad people, but bad ideology, you'll realize when a religion teaches that violence toward specific groups .... now brace yourself.... will actually stir up violence, then you'll see the root of the problem is in the Quran. Or tell me, is it an accident that Islam has a war with every other major religion on the planet?
Ready for the real shocker? What happens when the religion itself is to blame and is one of the world's largest. Go look up the stats on active religious populations in Islamic countries. Then do the same for "Western" countries. You'll notice something. That Islamic countries, especially in the middle east, have an active religious population that hovers close to 95%. The Western countries, it looks more like 25 percent. Wonder why? It's a forced religion. The Quran preaches violence. If you have a religion that preaches violence towards "NON_MUSLIM" that doesn't differenciate between atheist, jew, christian or anything.
...although they sure as hell like to kill Jews and Christians specifically. (Unless of course a bus of innocent civilians going about their business distracts them.)
Hmmmm, looks like Iran has borrowed the playbook of many of the US liberal/progressive posters. They just substituted Israel for bush2 or corporations or the 2%.
Is the site where books are published? I prefer links.
american-2051576
Actually, it's more reminiscent of Bush's 9/11 response... you know, make up a pretext to respond to the terrorist attack and then waging war in the wrong country, just because you want to.
I dont think theres any doubt about the fact that It's a lie is in for a huge $hite storm.
@pulsar182:
Why didn't you just tell us to buy the book? People don't get on Newsvine to read such expansive input. We read the article, leave a comment and respond to other comments. Think of Newsvine as a verbal conversation, your input, though valid, and the input directly preceeding it, are too long for the typical mindset people use when blogging on Newsvine.
Haven't you been listening or reading the news? Right now people are being arrested for preaching Christianity in other Countries. Not sure if it is illegal, but they are still being arrested and killed for it. So why be stupid enough to go where you are not wanted and preach what nobody wants to hear and then be shocked when you get arrested?
So astounding, if that's the case, would you agree and admit that the Israeli leadership that used their religion as the reasoning for their terroristic acts in establishing their independent jewish state is no better than the fundamental muslims ?
And if you actually look at the root cause of the violence, it's not actually over religion, it's over borders and occupations, with religion being the motivation used by their leadership to galvanize the resistance, and religion the reasoning behind the lies told by the opponents.
For Israelis it's not about religion or borders, it's about survival.
wire10221 banned for making racist remarks.
@superskunk - No the Israeli option is different all together. Israel was set up after world war 2 for a place for all the millions of mislpaced jews, a place that as far as western records (at that time for the most part) said belonged to them. Furhtermore their religion (Jewish) nor Christian call for extermination of people, the Quran and Islam does. It preaches violence specifically toward non-muslim.
I beg you to tell the Jews in Israel it's not about religion, when they see the dome of the rock on the temple mound. If it were over borders, Muslim countries surround a tiny portion of land, Israel, and such a small strip of land would be nothing, if it were only about borders and not about religion as you say. And as Judaism is older than Islam, the land should rightly then belong to them.
On top of it all is that muslims already have a holy city, it's not Jerusalem. The Jewish holy city is Jerusalem. The Islamic holy cities are mecca and medina.
What is so wrong with letting the jewish people have a jewish state, a relatively small country even compared with the hostile muslim countries that surround it.
Let the palestinians and muslims go to any of the other numerous surrounding Islamic countries that better suite their culture. This hasn't been palestine since it was lost to the ottoman turks in world war I. There is no PALESTINE! Go look on any modern map. There is an Israel. Iran has to accept that. The fact that they threated the destruction of an entire race/religion to achieve this goal makes them the agressor.
Right, civilian reconstruction for the last 7 years. Another lie from the camel fornicators.
Islam is cancer on this planet, everywhere it dominates is slowly destroyed. The religion of peace is really the religion of war and of male fools who think they have more value than females, and that's why they remain third world. Iran is a bug that will eventually be crushed, just a matter of time.
You have no idea what you're talking about, either of you. Just typical regurgitation of what you've been conditioned to believe.
and yet they have positive feedback in the form of thumbs up and you have.... nothing but words ...
Islam is a cancer... nailed it on the head...
And does my momma wear combat boots too ?
Yes, their "thumbs up" prove so much about their comments.
It would be nice if you could actually add something to the conversation, or have a point, besides hate speak.
Skunk (what an appropriate name). Hate Speak is always applicable when use used in the same sentence/paragraph as Islam. Islam is a plague and need to be wiped from the earth. Muslims are nothing but human bacteria and a disease to be eradicated.
@superskunk - Good catching up, gotta jet. We'll argue again later. ;)
Both christianity and islam are a stain on history. Guess most of you clowns can't exist without someone telling you who to hate, how to hate, who is acceptable to pray to and how and when. ignorance is your only tool.
Well, for those saying that Islam is a cancer, care to go onto google images and do a search of Iran? Pretty spectacular place when you don't have to see it through the eyes of the media.
What's really happening here is that US, Israel and Turkey are backing the rebels and Iran is backing Assad (US used to back him).
If US, Israel, Turkey (by proxy through 'rebels') take Syria and then Jordan, Iran will be completely surrounded by US / Israeli forces and the 60+ year attempt for the Western world to finally control all of that oil under Iranian soil (again, Brits had it last), which will then prop up the dollar and keep us from going down, is complete.
This has nothing to do with Christianity or Islam. It's all about the commodity.
Watch for Assad to fall and then its countdown to the next war.
Yes Beauford, the ethnic cleansing you preach towards an overall peaceful religion isn't hateful at all. I apologize I was completely wrong.
Iran can say all they want about what they will do to Isreal but they can't do anything to GODS chosen people if God stands by their side--- ONLY God can take action on his people as he has over and over but Yet let someone try when he is standing by them and Isreal will wipe them out as they have done to large countries over and over---- your Holy man in Iran faces Christ on Judgement day and he will as will all Islam bow on bended kness and confess his name before God send them into Hell and NO you can't get out-God said once in Hell always in Hell----------------------I pray for your souls----
Nice icon, you may want to hope what he said is not true philly, sounds like it might be hard for you to.
With God in so many places, are you trying to compete with ten century Shiites' Ayatollahs or seventh century desert dancing Sunni Islamic Mullah of Sodi Arobia?
Philly, how can one judge a book by it's cover when grammatically speaking your below a 3rd grade writing level?
Does someone have to help you eat oatmeal in the morning like Biden?
Drone on Obamadrone.....drone on.
@gwarth2
" .. they can't do anything to GODS chosen people if God stands by their side . . ". When I read your post, first, I thought you were being ironical, sarcastic. But, you are serious, right? Yipe! Scary!
@ Gwarth2... I thought once the knees kneeled & tongue confesses...one becomes "saved" not condemned.
@phillykevin2: I certainly hope the other functionbs you perform when multi-tasking are better quality than your writing skills, otherwise I wonder about your employability. For now, stick with that temp job at Dollar General.
Mr. Philly Kevin;
Please sir be advised that when you go to denigrate somebody / something know what you are talking about and not only do it with knowledge but ability. Your severe lack of knowledge of the "Tea Party" and proper grammar along with your incessant nattering makes you look small and intellectually stunted. You start to what seems to be a thoughtful comeback to an open minded discussion but then fall on your face and leave yourself wide open to public scorn. I hope you are young as this will give you time in life to read and learn many things that hopefully will allow you grow intellectually and spiritually.
@Star
I thought once the knees kneeled & tongue confesses...one becomes "saved" not condemned
All religions interpret the Bible, Torrah and Koran to suit their needs. When compared, many of these Holy Books are intertwined. Sounds like this guy is pretty hard core ... which means he skipped over Jesus and went straight for the four horsemen.
phillykevin2: I am a bit scarred of all, who get too much hung up on Gods. Tea/Tent Party is beyond my brains!
So I give way to you, sir!
Philly,
Where are you getting your facts from?
You make accusations without proof. Sounds like you are no better then the people you are accusing.
To compare Christians to the Taliban is stupid because the ideology are miles apart. When was the last time you heard a Christian tell you to convert or die? Or for that matter when was the last time that a christian called for your death because of problems with your belief? This is what the Taliban stands for, the last time any christian organization did something this backwards was hundreds of years ago. Most of the people I have met would never wish to fall back to this Middle Ages mentality, but I have seen Muslim governments and the people support this thinking themselves.
As is typical with people today you state facts without any proof. When was the last time you ever heard of a christian organization against Education? If you are yelling because they find problems with a theory that has never been proved in a lab or scientifically then I do not understand how this hinders progress or scientific thinking. The bottom line is both creationism and evolution are nothing more then two theories of life origins. Both are theories and nothing more, in fact I would suggest you google what a theory is, it is not a fact but rather a educated guess of how things came to being or what governs a scientific finding that is not able to be proved in a lab. I have never heard of a modern day christian yell about the world being flat (you do have crazies that do but they come from groups of both Christians, atheists, and people of other faiths who will not accept scientific fact that can be proved again and again). Any hard science I do not think any christian questions, so how exactly are they holding up science and the advancement of finding?
Also to question the christian desire to control a woman's body is flat out false. What people are asking for is what any rational person would ask for, take responsibility for your actions. Even the government can not figure out when life comes about, if you go to the courts you will see a women get charged with child abuse for taking drugs while 12 weeks pregnant, but then the next day is legally able to have a abortion. So if she is abusing this child by taking drugs, would not logical thinking state that to abort the child is actually more abusive? I think what is needed first is a decision to come down from the courts about when a person is actually a person. Then we can have a better understanding of where the argument should go from there. But the question still comes down not to the rights of the mother, but what about the rights of the child. Reagan stated it best when he said, "Have you ever noticed that the only ones who are arguing about the right to abortion were never the victims of it?"
And severe xenophobia? WTF! Is it that you like everyone loves to blame others for refusing to accept a political thought as racist when in fact it has nothing to do with color but rather mentality? And most christians I have met have no problem whatsoever with immigrants (since unless they are of native american heritage their ancestors immigrated over here), what they have a problem with is upholding the law. We have laws on our books for a reason, and to ignore them or think think you are above them does nothing but in the end bring on anarchy. We need to uphold our laws and demand that people follow them or leave this country. It is actually that simple, but everyone is trying to make it complicated to get political points with someone instead of just demanding the law be upheld. And here is a question for you, if we did secure our boarders, would this even be in the discussion?
I also love how people who have no tolerance for people who do not think like them or accept their ideology demand that we accept theirs. Then when we do not accuse of of what they are doing themselves. I do not have a problem with your ideology, what I have a problem with is that you refuse to accept anyone else but yours.
Last, hatred of government? Where are you getting this from? We love this nation but hate that this government is trying to do what you just yelled about, force its ideology upon us. When people like you get into power you accept nothing but forcing everyone to believe in what you feel is the better good. But look at Democrats in the past 100 years. For the sake of the better good they have imprisoned not once but twice people because of their race, during WW1 Wilson jailed people who dared to question the governments illegally imprisoning people just because of their race, and then went further and started jailing people because they questioned what was being told them. He went further and even put in jail his political rivals, all in the name of what is good for the country. Now today we have the government telling us that they have the right to teach morality to our children, they have the right to take them away if they do not agree with ours, and even telling people and businesses that they have to fund medical procedures.
I would strongly suggest you look in the mirror because I find the political left as a rule screams the loudest if they think someone is daring to do what they are doing. They for some reason think they have the only moral compass and rather then let others live as they seem fit within the confines of the law demand that they turn their thinking to the same as their's.
Mr. Tbenton;
Spot-on, and thank you for your insight. I hope Mr. Philly Kevin reads and takes some serious time for thought and reflection about the knowledge you have tried today to impart to him.
Irony. It's a bitch.
It's you're dude, not your.
"My god is better than your god, nanny nanny boo boo."
Tom Cruise and John Travolta know who the real god is, LOL. Well at least they're more logical with their belief of aliens over an invisible man living in the sky. It's all ludicrous.
Any one who hates religion is welcome to find refuge in North Korea, where they share your atheist views.
They aren't God's chosen people anymore.
tbenton... the fact is that taliban and alqueda were created by cia. as far as christisanity. the last time they were against education? how about looking into the mediecel time when any kind of knowledge was considered witchcraft and people were executed for that. In those time europian scientists were rushing to persia to persue their dreams. how about the concept of christianity that a women's brain is half the size of mens brain therefore they were created to serve men., not allowed to make judgment or even vote. you see the problem w/ you is that you talk conviniently about taliban's extremism, but fail to say that extreme in any religion is as bad. how about jewish extremist who think all non jews are gentiles and inferior to jew and were created to serve jews. their sole is inferior to that of the jews and non jew women are all whoers and a jew can take a non jew organ w/o asking . you see the problem w/ you is that you can only see what you want to see. all people around the world want to live a peaceful and prosper life and be able to provide for their families. the western countries want to keep these people in a uneducated and extreme state so they can use it to conquer them. if people are given the same opportunity, they all can prosper, but that is not the intention of the westerns towards these countries.
Yes, all extremists are bad.
The problem is that Muslim extremists have the power in several governments at the moment.
Iran whines and cries when Israel makes any firm comments about them but when Iran wishes death and destruction on the Jews they expect a free pass and usually get one. Well, Iranian leaders won't have to wait very long because on the way to North Korea, John Kerry will stop by Iran and kiss their collective asses real good and they won't need to bathe for a week.
Don't worry much!
Just oppose and see to it that extremist Jewish lobby in the US, Netanyahu and his gang, oil rich Sunni rulers led by House of Saud, oil companies and their lobbyists not push NATO forces for Syrian and Iranian intervention.
Things have gone beyond John Kerry, McCain, Hillarys and others on the payrolls of corporates and lobbyists. Could they do much in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya?
"The Revolutionary Guards media office said this week that Khoshnevis had been "martyred on his way from Damascus to Beirut by mercenaries"."
Keep miles away! Against us (infidels including Jews) they will all join hands.
Just see how Shiites and Sunnis will martyr each other!
Why are you so obsessed?
Considering the fact that Uncle Sam has been kissing Israel ass for years, Kerry wouldn't need much practice.
I'm not going to defend Iran, they are as religiously fundamental as the next god loving country, and their leadership doesn't seem like "good" guys.
With that said since they've never actually attacked first in their history, yes, they get a free pass because it's empty rhetoric.
Syuperskunk,
"they've never actually attacked first in their history" - if you mean history of their entire existence, you need to do some research on the Persian Empire, you will be majorly disappointed. If you mean in the resent history, since they have been called Iran, they've never attacked in first in person, but they had proxy terrorist organizations do plenty of attacking on their behalf.
Jag,
"Why do we give a F about Israel either?" - because quite a bit of the technology you use in your daily life has been invented in Israel, and because should Israel ever fall good Muslim leaders will need another enemy to blame for crappy life in their countries and US is the top candidate for that role.
@superskunk is obviously not a military man. Nobody waits to be attacked in order for justification, unless setting an ambush. Threats are often enough, and Iran has attacked many times into other countries. Do your history, Iran has been supporting terrorists through funding and shipments for years. Last week a ship unloaded tons of weapons on the Yemen coast to support terrorists there. Their goal is to destroy America and Israel. HELLLOOOOOOO!!!!!!! What if our motto for the army here in the U.S. was death to ....well...anyone... Wouldn't people start shouting in the streets saying that's calling for war and the extermination of millions of people? Iran's military motto is Death to America. You don't think they want to attack, then you're a fool.
Well... if your basis for your argument is that Iran has never attacked anyone, then you've obviously never taken a history course on the middle east. Go live there for a couple years, just two if you think it's just a-okay. If you're not willing to go that far, than I don't think you truly believe what you're saying. (That was directly at you superskunk.)
@Jag - See that's the problem, Jews, Christians, Buddhists...most don't care if or what their neighbors are. But muslims...well, if you're not a muslim...well...it's a call to war. In america I don't even care if the people up and down my street are atheist. In an Islamic country though, nothing like that is tolerated. It's Islam or death. Don't believe me, do the research for active religious populations in Islamic countries and see how it's over 90 percent. There is no way unless it's forced. And that's continual...not just a once in a blue moon thing. Oh, and go try to pray to anyone but Allah in Saudi Arabia. It's a death sentence. (Go head, look that up too.) Try to get in an airplane and fly over Mecca.... a Non-muslim cannot. This is their extent of hatred toward other religions. Look at it on a global scale. Nukes pointed at the Hindu's in India. Obvious problems with the Christians and Jews in the West. Subway bombings in Spain, Londond,... destroying thousands of year old statues..... This is the real islam, forget what you think you know.
And Jag, speaking of checking facts on Israel not contributing anything to science? They've long had representation on Space Shuttles here in the U.S. But since you want facts, here ya go:

@jag - ps. pwned
Astounding
One should never throw logic and common sense at leftist liberals and/or bigots. It ruins their day and totally confuses them as well! My compliments on your excellent posts.
OK, let's look for things discovered in Israel:
One more thing Jag,
"Israel didn't exist a century ago. What am I missing here?" - you are missing the fact that Israel did exist 2000 years ago. Palestine, on the other hand did not exist a century ago, or 2000 years ago, or ever at all, but that doesn't bother those who claim that now Palestine has more right to exist than Israel does.
Also, try not to cry when you are reading the list of things invented in Israel and discover that your view of the world was just an illusion.
eli, when was Iran actually founded, you seem to think parthia is another spelling for iran. not even a nice try.
Actually Jag,
All I pasted comes from Wikipedia. How does it make me a fanatic to state common knowledge?
You are the one who makes false statements with complete certainty, which suggests that you stick to your beliefs and refuse to check for facts. Now, that's fanaticism.
I am not bringing you controversy, it's already there. I have friends in Israel and I believe that Israel is important to well-being of my nation all over the world. So, yes, as long as people keep bashing Israel online, I will keep posting my arguments in favor of Israel. If you consider the issue insignificant, feel free to stop posting or reading comments.
Lore,
I don't know what this got to do with anything, but as far as I know Iran was founded in 1935. However, they are a recreation of Persian Empire which ruled the area since about 2000 BC.
I am well aware that modern Iran is very different form the Persian Empire, but similarly present-day Russia is different from USSR, and USSR was very different from Russian Empire, yet Russian feel connection to both stages of history. I doubt that people of Iran don't see any connection between their country and the ancient Persian Empire.
eli. you are so deceiving just like your partners in israel. what superskunk refered to was the islamic republic and he was right in his estimation. If you want to bring up persian empire, then why not bring up cyrus the great who freed all jews from slavery , allowed them and helped them to rebuild their temple and let them live peacefully under the persian empire. he was so generous to jews that he is the only non-jew to be mentioned in torrah as a profit. cyrus is also the first to introduce human rights some 2500 years ago. your assumption on iran is also wrong. Iran was not founded in 1935. iran was never called persia by the iranian themselves. it was always called iran which represents all the ethnics under the same flag. the name persian was given to iran by the western countries strting from the greeks and roman.. during the world war two the shah of iran just asked the international community to refer his country as iran since persia or parsian refered to only the people from the pars province vs. iran which represents the whole land with all it's ethnic groups. by the way wikipedia is not historically correct on everything. anyone can post anything in wikipedia and that doesn't mean it is legit.israel is mostly an assembly for the technology. come down your hi horse of jewsih suppermacy. israel wouldn't survive one month w/o u.s aid.
Do we all forget or are we just miseducated/uneducated to know that the independent jewish state of Israel was gained through terrorism ?
Are we unaware of the American governments numerous terrorist attacks and human rights violations in the name of colonialism and imperialism ?
Again, I'm not defending Iran or the religiously fundamental muslims, just pointing out that just because was side is presumed evil, number one doesn't make the other side automatically "good", and there's usually deeper reasoning than just "They hate freedom" or "It's their religion" nonsense.
Nice fare-dodging. However, parthia is ages different then iran, from religion to attitude to manner of social acceptances. Eli, you are aware you can't just make up history to suit yourself right? try reading history rather then making bad guys to suit your agenda and maybe I wil consider you educated enough to understand the pestulance you support. You show that you know nothing about persia, or parthia only rehashed propganda about muslim countries you've never cared about until it became news. Not even a nice try unless your attempt was to look jaded and sound ignorant. To wit, islam started int he 700's not 2,000 years ago and partia existed long before jesus and his mutts 2thousand year reign of terror.
I don't claim to be an expert on Iran, I certainly never claimed that they were always a Muslim country, but I was not making anything up.
I don't see how it's relevant what people call Iran. To me and mine they became bad guys by supporting Hamas and Hezbollah, that's all.
Yes Skunk,
I know that Israel was built through terrorism, but that terrorism was solely for survival. People fleeing from pogroms and then from Nazis were denied refuge, so they fought to gain that refuge by any means necessary. That is not the same as Islamist terrorism that is carried out for political resons under guise of irreligious fundamentalism.
Ramesh,
I have been to Israel enough times and met enough Israelis to know what they are capable of. It's not about Jewish superiority. Jews are not the only people who've had to rebuilt a country from scratch. It's about people working their hardest when their survival depends on it. They would survive just fine without US aid, they would just stop holding back when they have to retaliate to an attack.
I cannot agree that Israel was built through terrorism. Built to be a stronghold against terrorism is more appropriate. I think the christians and muslims keep forgeting that they are jews. The first ten books are the root for all three religions and judaism is the first and there-fore father religion of both christianity and islam. The only difference exists in the fact that the western and highly money corrupted roman standard required more then simply owing it to God. That change in Judaism (creating a physical link to 'God and thus a secondary link to the Emperor and later Pontiff to satisfy the law that emperors were descendants of Gods) sparked a second alteration to battle against the new jews, the followers of christ and that faith became islam.
As for the blood wars between arabs and jews and greeks/romans, that seems to be a never ending pool of baby shyte and arrogant stupidity. The son whines to the father and his son to him, islam and christianity don;t however exist without Judaism. Like it or not, that still means do as you like, short of once again rewritting your most sacred of texts, you are all jews, just jews in different colored jackets as suits your own individual style.
I am not a jew, or christian or muslim, but a short trip through history will tell anyone that israel had been founded, overthrown, refounded and overthrown dozens of times before the aran uprising that followed world war one which ousted the seat of judaic power that wasn't properly reclaimed until after world war two. Another minor aspect, the land that is called palestine today was half owned by greeks over three thousand years ago and thus didn't even belong to the muslims who claim it as absolute ancestral territory. All these things most of you are claiming as valid history are actual falicies fed to you, and feasted on by you. What is factual is that most of what you people refer to as accurate history from thousands of years ago has only actually been history since the 1100's when the eastern roman empire called on the west to aid them in recapturing manzikert, sparking what we now call the holy roman crusade.
Again Eli, terrorism is terrorism.
Political reasons ?!?!? What are the political reasons ? The majority of the muslim extremists commit their terrorism because of the Western occupations and atrocities of their homelands.
The majority of terrorist commit their acts of terrorism because their leaders convinced them the West is to blame for all their problems and that their lives will become perfect once everyone in the world belongs to their Sunni of Shea branch of Islam.
More ironic yet, the majority of Muslim terrorists commit their act of terrorism against other Muslims.
Israel is not tough enough on their enemies.
Israel is in a bad spot, the Muslims want them destroyed, plus many Americans are siding with the Muslims, who want America destroyed. Really ignorant people in the world.
Agreed
@Zheng He. ---- I know your a plant. Your comments mean nothing. It's a bitch when someone is smarter then you, isn't it.
You know what's funny. You make your name sound like a chinaman. But a Chinaman wouldn't give a rats ass about Isreal. LOL
I can't belive a thing I read on here. I's way to funny. Sorry for the real people that post. I respect your opinions.
This article aside, I do notice that often times when someone is claiming to be better than someone else, they invariably prove otherwise.
Israel is in the best spot.
It has to show patience while Shiites and Sunnis are battling in Syria and Iran.
They should not repeat the blunders like they did before each Iraqi war.
If Saddam had wiped out Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE and some other Sunni Arab League nations, they would have had half of problems they are facing now.
Before each Iraqi war, Netanyahus and their gangs in Israel and US ignited Iraqi wars with their furious dances with songs of "dangerous chemical weapons", "WMDs" and so on.
Let us, including Israel, worry about badly wounded winners.
Let there be not much delays at that time.
Dear marywhatever
Is Fiestyredhead on break? Or are you just the substitute Commie/Fascist. Nobody cares about your little name calling opinions OK. The Iranian leadership is bent on destroying ALL infidel's! You included (Unless you are a true Muslim) So back away from yourself, Quit bitching everybody out that does not agree with your Jew hating opinion and go lay down!
Good night now!
You do know the difference between Commie and Fascist don't you?
Should I have called her a Nazi/Fascist?
On A side note are we a Democratic/Republic
Actually we are supposed to be a UNITED States.
So your answer to my question is, NO ?
I think I get what you mean, If we all would just think with the left side of our brain we would be United. Then everyone would be happy.
In answer to you question I believe we are now a Representative Democracy although if Republicans get their way will lose our right to vote.
Just can't say it can ya. It's ok like I eluded to we all cannot nor should we think alike. I believe THAT is what provides us with some semblance of freedom.
I agree we are not all alike. Maybe I can think with all of my brain. The labeling of left and right are just political tools. I have voted for Republicans as well as Democrats in my life, have you? By the way what is it that I'm not supposed to be able to say?
There's a couple of Grandpas that agree!!!
Grandpa's should agree but not always.
Believe it or not I was going to vote for Hillary over McCain because I was Pissed about Palin being on the ticket. But that changed with Obama winning the nomination. So i didn't vote. The original point I was trying to make is we can be labeled two things at once. Commie/Fascist. and Our gov being a Democratic ,Republic.
No your original point was a slam on Fiesty. Nothing to do with labeling two things just labeling her.
My original reply to you! Yes My original post was meant to SLAM Fiesty. All she does is slam the right or anyone that disagrees with her. She clearly chose's NOT to think with her whole brain, As evident with her own posting's. We could play this all day long, However at the end of the day this exchange changes nothing.
BTW Please help collapse the advertisement from wilsonarden521 above.
I agree that she does go a little overboard once in a while but most of the time she is right on the money as far as I'm concerned. I put wilsonarden on ignore every time I see it. I believe he does it to say he does not agree with the post. Kinda dumb.
If that's his motivation? Wow! "Krazy" It's kinda like that old Mod Squad episode ( I think ) Where the criminals only response to everything was " Mother" This dudes' only response is to advertise?
Zheng, Israel was the DARLING of the American left, because it was one of the few socialist countries that had ever WORKED. And if they were constantly defeating the feudal Arabs...that only proved that Marx had been right all along. That ended only with he Six-Day War, when the Soviet Union turned against Israel...so of course all good American lefties had to do the same.
There is no evidence to support that Richard. Religously fundamental, absolutely. Crazy, yup. But no more than Israel with the exception that Iran kills their own and Israel kills anyone who opposes them.
Grandpa, Richard, we no longer have a democracy in America, what we have is an illusion of choice and democracy while our government is bent on destroying democracy throughout the world for colonialism and imperialism.
What we get to choose is if we want death by drowning or death by fire. The fire/drowning can be replaced by Democrat/Republican or vice versa.
Psst, we never had a democracy, our country was founded on being a Republic, but over time and the dummying down of our educational system, in part by the liberals, DNC and the Teachers Unions, many believes we are run by a democracy, but soon to be a Monarchy, with Obama proclaiming to be king, once our economy collapse and he can declare Martial Law of the land.
Robo ...
We are not and never have been a democracy? A republic cannot be a democracy? Seems you failed your short required political science classes back in high school. Next you will try to proove there is a factual difference between democrats and republicans. You are a fine example, in this scenerio at least, of stupid is as stupid does.
For your information, a short touch on history, Athens was a City State (a Republic) which was governed through the laws of demos (democracy) where-in the people not the crown king made the valued choices that effected their individual rights. Happy hunting.
RoboCop
I agree with most of what you said above. Those claiming we are solely a Democracy should try reading such things as the Pledge of Allegiance, Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, and last but not least the Constitution of the United States.
Darned that Israel. If it went wrong, it must have been done by Israel. After all, this man's death couldn't have been caused by one of the warring sides in this Syrian tragedy or even by Iran.
heavy duty on the sarcasm.
GM Chef
Seems Iran and NK blame everyone for their problems with life and in the world. A great diversion for their lack of providing for their citizens. Hmm, diversion, I seem to think that is working elsewhere too! (no sarcasm intended!!!) LOL
GM jack!!!
ain't that the truth!!!
it's a shame this is actually real life. almost sounds like a rendition of the sit-com "Heil Honey I'm Home".
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heil_Honey_I%27m_Home!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWjCkcAmzDc
Someone could be making a lot of $$$ creating a sit-com about Iran and NK. They wouldn't have to think very hard or wait long to get their material.
GM Chef and Jack!
Spot on!!
GM FedupwithFed
I used to be a sports official, then and now, I call'em as i see'em! Thanks.
Why Iran is falling into Russia’s arms
http://www.nypost.com/f/print/news/opinion/opedcolumnists/why_iran_is_falling_into_russia_ynb2NrixZYgiTmeaYu88KN#axzz2Kt3KSR6Y
There are other signs of change in Moscow-Tehran relations. Last week, Iran played host to Russian warships visiting Bandar Abbas on the Strait of Hormuz in what looks like the opening gambit for a Russian naval presence in the strategic waterway....
Students of Bible prophecy will find all this particularly interesting. After all, the Hebrew prophet Ezekiel wrote 2,500 years ago that a dictator (Gog) from the territory we now call Russia (Magog) would form an alliance in the "last days" with Persia (what we now call Iran) and a group of other Middle Eastern countries.
The goal of the alliance will be to threaten and then attack a prosperous and secure Israel in the years following Israel's prophetic rebirth. Such an event has never happened in human history, but a growing number of Jewish and Christian Bible scholars and teachers believe geopolitical trends suggest the fulfillment of the “War of Gog and Magog” prophecy might not be so far off.
http://flashtrafficblog.wordpress.com/2011/05/09/what-is-the-war-of-gog-and-magog-part-one/
Russia and Iran are NOT true friends. Until Iran can "tamed" the jihads that are supporting Russia's own Muslim Problems, they will not truly ally!
Google "Nord Ost", kids.
You will understand that Russia will never go to war alongside Iran or any other Islamic nation, especially not against the country that brought them hamburgers and Hollywood, nor are they likely to got to war against a country where 20% of population speaks Russian.
Hey!!! Chuck Hagel!!!! Want to comment again on Israeli war crimes and how the world "misunderstands" Iran?
Good Point!!
The only person in Washington who misunderstands Iran is Hagel. Nice going Mr. President. Next thing you know those two will want to sell high tech that fat baby in North Korea.
Iran's leadership is crazy and religiously fundamental, BUT they have never attacked another nation first.
The Israeli government got into power through terrorism, how are they so different than the muslim fundamental terrorists ?
"how are they so different than the muslim fundamental terrorists ?"
1) Their terrorism was carried out by people who escaped from Nazi concentration camps, only to discover that in the Middle East British and Arabs are determined to toss them back into the clutches of the Nazis. For them, the only alternative to terrorism is death.
Muslim Fundamentalists, on the other hand are turning to terrorism out of prejudice, no one is exterminating them. All the problems their people face could be resolved through peaceful hard work.
2) Israeli government, for all it's flaws, is still democratic. They do not have absolute power and they are going through elections fare and square.
3) Israel does not practice oppression of other religions. Israel includes citizens of all religions, they all have equal rights and opportunities, including opportunity to be represented in the government.
Eli, first off it is fair, not fare which (fare) is the value you pay in compensation for a service. See .. cab fare.
Secondly, isreal does degenerate and oppress islamics in their own territory and in captured zones.
It is okay to love a thing, however, not when your love is blind ignorance. I suggest you reread your bible dear as your mind is decayed from it's facts and your stupidity.
"Secondly, isreal does degenerate and oppress islamics in their own territory and in captured zones."
That is simply not true.
In Israel people of all religions and nationalities have equal rights. There are Muslim politicians in Knesset, Muslim soldiers in IDF, successful Muslim-owned businesses.
Don't take my word for it, do some research, reduce your own blind ignorance, unless your mind is completely decayed from one-sided sources and your stupidity.
First the simple short answer, terrorism is terrorism, no matter how you try and justify it.
If you knew anything of history or geo-politics, you would know that muslims aren't fighting because of islam, they are fighting for the same reasons the jewish people did to attain Israel. A foreign occupation, oppression, and the indiscriminate killing of their people.
It may be a flawed democracy, but Iran is still a democracy. And actually the American governments CIA is the reason these fundamental crazies are in power in the first place. I won't go into the details but do some reading on the CIA's destruction of democracy in Iran and the puppet they put into the power the Shah during Operation Ajax.
Iran has the second largest jewish population in the Middle East, so they apparently have more religious freedom than either you're aware of or would like to admit.
"If you knew anything of history or geo-politics, you would know that muslims aren't fighting because of islam, they are fighting for the same reasons the jewish people did to attain Israel. A foreign occupation, oppression, and the indiscriminate killing of their people."
In other words Muslims are fighting over things that do not exist. Jews are not foreign occupiers, they are indigenous to the area. They are not killing indiscriminately, they only retaliate when attacked, and they are not oppressing Muslims. Muslims in Israel have equal rights, in fact they have more rights than people in any of the Arab states.
Eli, as I have said before, blind following is the only true ignorance. Whether it be muslim fanatics or peopleyou who pretend that israel never hurts anyone. You think Israel does not torture abuse oppress those who would even seem to act against israel, then you are the ignorant one. My love for the modern State of Israel is in the fact that it is NOT like the ancient state of jerusalem. Peace isn't the main policy for assuring peace, the jews know that better then all others so why pretend they do not terrorize when they need to and oppress when they must? You think because a black man in america might own a buisness in the late 1970's that he wasn't oppressed and degenerated by the main society and have that pressed upon him as a goverment not only looks aside but also applauds the behaviour? You can't be that ignorant as to say, he can't be gay he has a wife ...
Israel doesn't oppress muslims, try being a muslim in occupird zone trieng to get to work in one of those muslim run buisnesses. Paint with an honest brush or loss the faith you claim so pure. truth sucks but it is the only commodity I will ever love.
Eli, I wasn't referring to Israel or the jewish people occupying the Middle East. I was referring to the hundreds of American military bases, the hundreds of thousands of American soldiers, and the drone attacks, not to mention the European troops in the Middle East and other muslim areas.
THAT is the occupation, oppression and indiscriminate killing I was referring to.
And I don't have an issue with Israel's existence, even though that existence was gained through terrorism. My issue with the Israeli government is that they are as arrogant, if not worse, than their enemies and somehow they always get a free pass and are perceived as the "good" guys. I agree that muslims are given equal rights in Israel, although they don't have equal representation in the government, just as the jews in Iran seem to have equal rights as the muslim Iranians.
The retaliation only when attacked is debatable at best. If you look at the numbers of civilians killed by Hamas/Fatah versus the civilians killed by Israeli government aggression in the last 10-12 years, the imbalance is staggering.
Your issue is that you're conditioned to argue your subjectivity to the end because you're usually faced with the other extreme of subjectivity.
You don't know how to respond to my objectivity, which at it's core is this, just because one side is bad, doesn't automatically make the other side good.
I don't have an issue with the people of Israel or of the Middle East, it's the corrupt oppressive governments throughout the world that I have issue with. Because at the end of the day they are the ones living in mansions and palaces, reaping the benefits of their tyranny and oppression while poor people suffer and die.
"just because one side is bad, doesn't automatically make the other side good." - true, but it is perfectly realistic for one side to be better.
"The retaliation only when attacked is debatable at best. If you look at the numbers of civilians killed by Hamas/Fatah versus the civilians killed by Israeli government aggression in the last 10-12 years, the imbalance is staggering." - So, by your logic USA was the aggressor during WWII, since they lost the fewest civilians of all participants. The imbalance you refer to is caused by the fact that Hamas and Fatah have been doing their best to place their own civilians in danger, while IDF did their best to defend their own civilians. An objective debater would be aware of that.
Lore,
There is a long way from private cases of discrimination to governmental oppression. Yest here are cases of discrimination in Israel, but those can be fought and are fought in court. Those legal battles would become a lot easier if Hamas and Hezbollah were not constantly discrediting their nation in the eyes of the rest of Israel, the Arab representation in Knesset would've also increased a great deal.
As for Israeli mansions and palaces, those pale in comparison to the mansions and palaces of some Arab leaders who build those by convincing their people that they are fighting against Western tyranny and oppression.
My issue is not with Arabs or Muslims, but with their leaders who started this pointless war and keep jump-starting it every time there is a chance for peace.
Not even going to waste my time responding to that.
Where did I say the Israeli government was the AGGRESSOR ? I said aggression, not aggressor, let's get your manipulation of my words straight before I even continue.
I wasn't talking about WW2, or any war for that matter. What I was referring to was the back and forth attacks between the IDF (the former terrorist organization Haganah) and Hamas/Fatah. Where no war was underway, just terrorist attacks and AGGRESSION on BOTH sides.
I'm not surprised one bit that you ran to WW2 in response to my post, and your twisting and manipulation of my words. It is what Howard Zinn calls one of the three American holy wars. Not holy in religious terms, but how there is little debate on the reasoning and righteousness for entering those wars (The Revolutionary War, The Civil War, and WW2), although once entered in and victorious only the upper class seemed to benefit in the first two, and our government killed close to a million civilians in WW2.
So while I agree that fascism had to go, a lot of civilians were killed, and we imprisoned over 100,000 Japanese Americans as well here at home.
But I digress, your argument is pointless anyway because there hasn't been an attack on the American civilian population during war times in a LONG time.
That is a common argument that a good number of people use without actually thinking it through. Israel is slightly larger than Massachusetts, with a slightly larger population. The entire Gaza Strip is smaller than Philadelphia with about 200,000 more people than Philadelphia.
Point being there isn't a place you could fire a missile into Philadelphia where it wouldn't harm the civilian population. The size, strength, and technology of the IDF can strike back in MANY ways without indiscriminately firing from a distance, which in turn kills scores of Palestinians citizens.
Gaza is not nearly as packed with people as some claim. It actually includes a desert.
There is certainly no necessity to place rocket-launchers on the roofs of schools or hospitals, or to hide weapons in a Musk.
The thing is, in the past Israel did try to avoid such targets, then Hamas exploited those the best they could, that led to more Israelis dead, and still plenty of Palestinians dead.
So, Israel had to give up trying to protect the enemy civilians, and concentrated on protecting their own.
Forget WWII, can you name any participant in any war that valued the lives of enemy civilians over the lives of their own soldiers? Any one at all?
Just look up the square mileage of Gaza and it's population, and then compare it to a large city like Philadelphia. Enough said.
But we're America, supposedly the most advanced, intelligent, righteous country in the world, no ? We are led to believe, and rightfully so, that we are above morally and technologically killing innocent civilians, because we should be. Violence is the least intelligent way to deal with a situation. And even the three holy wars I mentioned in the earlier post started out with good intentions, but ended up being not so good.
And the bottom line is this, war is terrorism, war is the indiscriminate killing of innocent people namely children.
You're allowing your fear of freedom to allow you to support the maintenance of the status quo and criticize critical thinking and legitimate social change.
No, "square mileage" is not "enough said", people are not butter, they do not get spread evenly, there are always densely populated areas and there are always empty spaces.
Hamas could set their rocket-launchers in the empty spaces if they were concerned about thier civilians.
"But we're America" - I though we were talking about Israel. Or did you just confirm my original suspicion that you simply see Israel as an extension of America? They are not, they fighting a battle for survival and they can not afford sentiments of a superpower.
"war is the indiscriminate killing of innocent people" - couldn't agree more, that's what's war does no matter who is fighting it, it puts people in front of a very simple choice: kill or be killed. The only way out of it for any people is to protect their own by any means necessary and it's pointless to demand more of anybody, no matter how advanced or intelligent they are.
"You're allowing your fear of freedom to allow you to support the maintenance of the status quo and criticize critical thinking and legitimate social change." - I do fear something, all right, but it's not "fear of freedom".
On the contrary, I fear FOR my freedom. I fear that I might find myself robbed of opportunities available to everyone, the way my parents were, or forced to run for my life from extermination, they way my grandparents did, or waiting for a group of angry villagers with pitchforks and torches, the way great-grandparents did. All that stands between my people and all those things is Israel, so we see the need to support it, and remarks like yours don't do much to reduce out fear.
So if we manage to take out Iran and North Korea will we only have to deal with an unstable Russia and a cyber thief China. :)
Russia is no more unstable than USA; China's cyber warfare is probably primitive compared to the USA. There is not going to be a military war between USA & China or USA & Russia; that's pure hogwash put out there for the uneducated, uninformed Americans to keep them brainwashed. And that garbage about the USA must refocus to the Orient to keep the sea lanes open from China'a aggression; China is the last country in the world that wants the sea lanes closed; they are the worlds factories and bankers. All this is just an excuse to spend money on the war machine to keep the politicians and their friends rich and getting richer; but to get away with it, they need to brainwash the ignorant in America because they need their support. In the Middle East, what worked was screaming, "they just want democracy", and "he's killing his own people", and the American people jumped on the band wagon. Not all Americans fell for the scam, but enough to get away with it.
Zheng He: Though I can agree on some of your points, I do part ways with your thinking about the sea lanes. China does not want America to keep them open for international trade; China wants to keep those lanes open - under their conditions and control.
China now has the economic capacity and political will to improve its military force and redefine its role in the Pacific Rim by making territorial claims. Only the U.S. can counter their position.
You use a trite argument about America's military industrial complex as a means of captains of industry getting richer and politicians lining their pockets all the while duping the "ignorant". That is shallow analysis at best. There is no point in brainwashing the ignorant for they are out of the picture. The mechanisms behind American military might must convince a now vigilant American public that we need a strong, gobal military force. Why, the likes of North Korea, Iran, northern Africa and Al Qaida and China's ever expanding role in Asia are all the reasons we need. Who has been on watch and on the front lines for Europe and much of Asia since WWII? America. Who can take our place now? No one. No other country has the will or the resources to take our place.
Lastly, I agree with you that we will not fight, I refere to the money factor. China battling us would be like burning down the bank where one holds his money and investments. War between the two would be bad for business.
@ Zheng
Russia is as unstable as we are. The Global economy got a good whacking and we are a global economy. China is actually quite prolific when it comes to hacking. Not only will they hack ... they send people to work for these global companies and steal trade secrets. So you really shouldn't call someone else ignorant. That means "not Knowing". I saw the hacking story not only on CBS but read articles on other journalism sites. Reverse engineering is a huge money maker but stealing intel is larger profit. They don't have to spend money on R&D. I think it is far more ignorant to claim to know what another country will do. Oh, here's an example: Pearl Harbor. Nobody saw that one coming. So, try to debate instead of flame. You would be more persuasive.
Zheng,
Sun Tzu would himself tell you the level of ignorance propaganda creates when it is not backed up by at least partial truths. I myself have no fear of war between china or the united states or russia, in seperate wars or as all three nations bloodieng the waters. However, your stark and one sided interpretation makes you no better then the simple market manipulator you claim everyone else is. Do you think you are stating something new and unique by pointing out tactics and national jockieng techniques that have been used for several thousand years? Without these major nations keeping at each other your ability to comminicate using this high tech platform wouldn't exist. Are you so stupid as to think great nations do not purpossefully aid each others growth by virtue of war, or, is it rather you wish everyonoe give you the same credit Confuscious achieved? Try comming up with something new or sally john (your likely real name) will be the end of your chance at being remembered through the ages.
lol

I'm still trying to figure out why we give a rat's ass about these countries... Leave them alone, let them self-destruct.
Because they might get lonely during self-destruction and might want to drag us in with them.
Ah keith, spouting more of the same old tired unfounded ignorance. try reading the koran, just because modern men with limp dicks (see you for referrence) use ignorance as a power tool and lack the balls to carry it out themselves does not mean the original law read the way your propganda mouth has learned to believe it.
Who's winning, The Hatfields or McCoys?
I must be at the wrong feud. I thought it was between the Montagues and the Capulets.
Nope, this is just keeping up with the Jones's
Reuter's and NBC once again just lip sync what Islamic forces want you to hear. The writer of this piece, Yeganeh Torbati, is certainly biased. He elevates Hezbollah from a terrorist organization which has carved out an armed enclave from Lebanese sovereign territory into a Shi-ite movement. His bias is dishonestly obvious, but don't they have editors at Reuters and NBC who can read and write.
And you're not biased?
We all are. Now move past it.
Newsmedia publicly claims to be objective. And the public assumes they are objective.
You write things as if you are some factual authority on policies and actions of Reuters and NBC Dougmiller. Your conjecture and speculation stating them as truths makes you a liar and a republican. Crawl back in your hole troll.
The old Persians (ancestors of present Iranians) were the first to formulate human rights about 3500 years ago. They let the Jews to return to Jerusalem and rebuild their Temple after Babylonians (present day Iraqis) had destroyed them. Not only that, they even allowed the Jews to return to Israel and resettle that land.
Now what a difference! It is all because of Islam. Islam hates everybody. Anyone who subscribe to its doctrine have to hate those who refuse to accept Islam. Koran very clearly states that no other religion other than Islam will be accepted nor tolerated. Koran commands its followers to wage Jihad till the whole world submits to Islam.
These Islamic hordes want to destroy Israel. They think if they can destroy the "little Satan" they can destroy to "big Satan', i.e. USA. However, this is not going to happen.
What is going to happen is Iran with its allies of Islamic countries will attempt to conquer Israel but will be destroyed in the process. It will be a nuclear war. The dead will be buried only after 7 months. That too a special group of people will first go and identify the bones and place a marker. The another special group buriers will bury these radioactive bones in the valley. Read this amazing story in Ezekiel 38 & 39!
I hope I live long enough to see all Muslim Nations wiped off the face of the Earth and given there 12 virgin demons to spend eternity with. A Country that promotes false prophets and mistreats women and children! Yet claims in all in the name of Allah the idiot! They should've all left like the cast of shahs of sunset! Obama would welcome them with open arms
Exactly ! LMAO
Or to fly to the sun without burning a wing,
To lie in the meadow and hear the grass sing,
To have all these things in our memories hoard,
And to use them,

No gudprsn, islam is not an enemy to all. Zionism is the enemy.
I grew up in the 40s - now and never heard of any trouble with Islam as a religion until the 1990s, when the neocons made a concerted effort to demonize them through the use of the Zionist media.
No one in the 1950s was saying that Islam was anything, but peaceful. I know it, because I lived it, along with my entire generation. We never gave it a thought.
Now all of a sudden, we have Jews writing on these forums all kinds of terrible things about Islam. They write how we should nuke Iran, despite the fact Iran has not started a war with another country in almost 200 years.Meanwhile, Israel sits with over 150 nuclear weapons, including nuclear submarines capable of launching nukes on America, wanting to bomb Iran.
Israel has the Sampson option, where if their leaders feel the State of Israel is threatened with imminent destruction, they will incinerate the earth. They are the greatest theat to the world.
Preeminent Israeli military historian, Martin van Creveld, in 2010 said Israel could
find itself one day forced to exterminate the European continent using all
kinds of weapons including its nuclear arsenal if it felt its demise neared,”
and stressed that “Israel also considers Europe a hostile target.”
“We have hundreds of nuclear warheads and
missiles that can reach different targets in the heart of the European
continent, including beyond the borders of Rome, the Italian capital,” Creveld
said, adding that most of the European capitals would become preferred targets
for the Israeli air force.
He reiterated “Israel’s ability to destroy the
whole world whenever it felt its existence would be doomed to extinction.”
Of cause you haven't heard anything bad about Islam in the 40s and 50s. At that time they were only hurting Jews, and good Christians were at peace with that.
Now, that they got carried away and started killing Christians and Atheists every once in a while, the truth came out and you can't handle it, so you have to make up that nonsense about Jews wanting to destroy the world.
I love the Moody Blues!
eli. you are a pow. the argument is not religious but political. you are trying to make the argument about muslims vs jews and christians to your convinient, but don't forget that you in israel are oppressing both christians and muslims the same. deceive ,devide and conqure.I am by no means muslim, but isn' this true"
When Jews were persecuted during the Spanish Inquisition sponsored by the Christian Church, they found new homes in Turkey and North Africa, where Muslims accepted them. And during the Russian pogroms, the Muslims of Central Asian countries again took in and protected the persecuted Jewish refugees.
But when the Jews built their own nation state, they did not return the good deeds done on their behalf by Muslims through the ages. Instead, they subjected Palestinians to cruel and inhumane treatment, as well as oppressing the native populations of Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, Tunisia, and now Iraq and Iran, through direct or indirect aggression. So much for paying back a favour.
Yes Jews found refuge in the Ottoman empire, but only as second class citizens, with extra taxes and restrictions.
In the 19th century, they had the nerve to start acting like equals, so Arabs started attacking their settlements for extortion. So Jews fought back.
Then during WWII, when Jews needed help more than ever, Arabs simply closed the doors on them and with the help of British started tossing them back to the Nazis.
The moment "Jews built their own nation state" Arabs declared a full-out war on them, so Jews fought back as hard as they could.
You really should stop trying to twist history into a pretzel.
Here we go again.
Hey, earth to Thomson Reuters, this is not news. If something happens and Iran does not vow revenge on Israel, that will be news.
My only question is how bad does Iran really want their asses kicked?
My only question is, how much do you want to pay to kick their ass. You'll flip the bill. Hope you don't have any kids.
The bill? What is the government doing with your money beside giving it away to fake lazy lying cheating unamericans! I prefer to use my tax dollar to keep our nation safe and promote democracy.
Let it rain down upon them!! radioactive style!
@Mike40------ The US has payed enough money to make every Israli a millinare. But there's no stopping it. Tax day is comming. I hope you enjoy it.
@mike-------- The bill? What is the government doing with your money beside giving it away to fake lazy lying cheating unamericans!
You mean like Isreal. RIGHT?? And Egypt, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kazakistan, South Korea, Japan, Viet Nam, etc.
And the beat goes on. Sonny and Cher
Agreed, great post !
Safe ? What nations have the military capability in the Middle East to attack America ? None, possibly Israel, but they're our "ally".
Promoting democracy is a farce as well since your tax dollars go to the global destruction of democracy. Our government pretends to love democracy, yet they traverse the globe destroying it to benefit colonialism and imperialism. In the meantime back home in the USA we only have an illusion of democracy remaining.
Muslims don't typically attack in full military mode..they use the likes of Naser Abdo, the would-be second Fort Hood jihad mass murderer; and Khalid Aldawsari, the would-be jihad mass murderer in Lubbock, Texas; and Muhammad Hussain, the would-be jihad bomber in Baltimore; and Mohamed Mohamud, the would-be jihad bomber in Portland; and Faisal Shahzad, the would-be Times Square jihad mass-murderer; and Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, the Arkansas military recruiting station jihad murderer; and Naveed Haq, the jihad mass murderer at the Jewish Community Center in Seattle; and Mohammed Reza Taheri-Azar, the would-be jihad mass murderer in Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Ahmed Ferhani and Mohamed Mamdouh, who hatched a jihad plot to blow up a Manhattan synagogue; and Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the would-be Christmas airplane jihad bomber; and many others like them who have plotted and/or committed mass murder in the name of Islam and are motivated by its texts and teachings — all in the U.S. in the last couple of years.
pulsar182, with the exception of Abdullahakim Mujahid Muhammad and Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, likening the rest of those men to actual muslim fundamental terrorists is ridiculous.
The rest of them are more similar to Timothy McVeigh, Eric Harris, Dylan Klebold, Mark O. Barton, Jeffrey Weise, Seung-Hui Cho, Jiverly Wong, Jared Loghner, James Holmes, Adam Lanza, or any number of the long list of mass murderers in America.
They had no actual connection to any terrorist organizations, and they were just severely disturbed and troubled men who took their mental/social issues out on others. The ones you mentioned just happened to use islam as an excuse. The Columbine shooters used music and video games as an excuse, does their weak minds mean we should ban everything related to mass killings ? That list could get long and confusing.
ooooooh I'm sure Israel is quaking in there boots.
Just what I was thinking. After being threatened with 'wiping Israel off the face of the Earth', I'm sure the recent threat of a revenge killing REALLY makes them scared. LMFAO.
The Iranian regime is doing nothing but sable rattling. It's to their best interests to raise as many issues against their enemies as reasonable possible and continue to divert attention to becoming a nuclear armed state. At this point, they will claim their place at the NWO nuclear power table and demands will be made!
"The Iranian regime is doing nothing but sable rattling"
MidwestMac,
I think you mean "Saber" or "Sabre" rattling. A "sable" is a small species of a mammal primarly found in Russia, which is used to make high end coats. A "sabre" is a curved type sword with a single edge blade.
By the way, anyone who still wears real animal fur, ( in this day and age of easily produced synthetics ) is a queer! No disrespect to homosexuals intended, it's just a figure of speech.
Israel,
You have them, use them! Nuke Iran and Syria back to the stone age, ( they're not far from it anyway ). And then dare Egypt, Pakistan or any of the other Muslim countries to do something about it. What is the sense of having a means to end all the B.S. over there if you aren't going to use it. NUKES, the great equalizer. Use them or lose them. As a matter of fact, the U.S. should have already taken care of the Islamic problem with some well placed theater sized weapons.
The Islamic problem is a ficticious compilation of Zionist proaganda and a false flag attack on 9/11, which was designed to demonize the Muslim community. The real enemy of the US is the Zionist control of our media and our government. Take a look at who was running our Pentagon prior to 9/11 and the war with Iraq. They were dual citizen Israeli/Americans, all with close tires to the Likud government of Sharon. These men planned and sold the Iraq war. 9/11 was an inside job and you can be sure these pieces of excrement were heavily involved.

Great idea, that won't start World War 3 or anything, since Iran has never attacked another nation first in their existence. There will be loads of international support for Iran if Israel was to nuke them.
The Islamic problem is a ficticious compilation of Zionist proaganda
I suppose all those Muslim attacks upon Christians, Jews, and other non-Muslim religions that are occuring everyday just aren't really happening...Right?
Thats right Pulsar. Name one attack by Muslims on Christians that happened in the past week or month. You said every day. We are killing Muslims every day in their own land. Since when is a Chrisian life worth more than a Muslim one or of an atheist or a Buddist?
By the way, did we not attack Iraq over WMD, which did not exist, killing hundreds of thousands? Tell us, what did Iraq do to deserve the "shock and awe" attacks? Did we not go to Afghanistan and kill thousands of civilians, some in wedding parties? Afghanistan never attacked the US. There was not one Afghanistan or Iraq citizen involved in 9/11, which was an inside job, with some al-Qaeda planning. The great majority of people killed on 9/11, were killed when the WTCs fell due to being rigged with explosives set by the Mossad, so they would fall in a controlled demolition.
Did Israel not attack Gaza and kill more than 1400 people, mostly women and children and the kill over 1000 in Lebanon, with massive air strikes?
Answer my questions! We have killed hundreds of thousands of Muslims, most of whom were just trying to live their lives.
SuperSkunk,
That is exactly what we need, WW3. This world is too over populated as it is. If we could just trim the population numbers down a little bit, ( 4 billion would do ) this world would be better off.
Truthfully, the population cuts should come from the industrialized nations, we are the ones screwing everything up. Just detonate 20 high EMP yield nukes equally spaced at an altitude of about 200 miles. That high up, there will be no structural damage, no fallout and very little radiation issues, ( high EMP = low radioactivity, normally ). Space them out along the latitude and longitude lines above all the continents. 4 above North America, 3 above South America, 5 from England to the Bering Strait, 4 over Africa from Libya to South Africa, 3 over China, Japan and Southeast Asia and 1 over Australia. That will send all of us technologicallyback to the early 1800s. That ought to thin out the population by a few billion. Don't think so? Just imagine what would happen to civilization if electricity and every modern solid state electronic device suddenly got fried by electromagnetic pulse, BACK TO THE STONE AGE BABY!!!!!!
hey RLTW!
I see you lost the scarey picture! I agree population culling is the primary manner in which to bandage the problem, however, leaving any reminder of technology would only insure massive repopulation in too short a window for it to have long term effect. To add, I also dislike your method, to hands off for my taste!
Hope to see you around!
Yeah, I got rid of the gun slinging avatar. It did look a little on the "extremist side".
So, what is your suggestion for depopulating the planet? Full scale surface or mid-altitude burst nuke war? My favorite would be something along the lines of a plague, with about a 90% mortality rate. Humans are a disease on this planet. We do nothing but destroy, pollute or otherwise trash everything we come in contact with. Maybe if we could start over, but keep the memories of what it was like, we would decide to stay an agrarian species. Technology does nothing but @!$%# up everything.
If it does happen and I'm still around, when my hurricane stockpile runs out, I'll sell my military skills for a can of peaches and case of Bud Light.
RLTW, at first I thought you were a wackjob, but after reading your posts (with the exception of genocides), you raise good points that I can somewhat agree with.
Can you just feel the love between Muslims, Jews and Christians?
This is why we can do without religions worldwide--they don't practice what they preach--they are all hypocrites.
spoken like a true coward with no moral convictions other than reading his next sci-fi book and star wars convention
Agreed, gizmowiz.
lol. You religious nuts keep digging your hole.
Now you know that mikey can't be wrong. It's the Republican way.
Astounding, your post is full of good info and I agree with you, but it's way too long. People these days are too stupid to read that much. Keep your fire, make your posts shorter, just do more posts. You're a warrior, keep up the good work!
Iran sucks. Islam is poison.
"Religion easily has the greatest BS story ever told. Think about it, religion has actually convinced people that there's an INVISIBLE MAN...LIVING IN THE SKY...who watches every thing you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a list of ten special things that he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish where he will send to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry for ever and ever 'til the end of time...but he loves you. He loves you and he needs money ! He always needs money. He's all powerful, all perfect, all knowing, and all wise, somehow just can't handle money ! Religion takes in billions of dollars, pays no taxes, and they always need a little more.
The god excuse. The last refuge of a man with no answers and no argument. It came from god. Anything you can't explain, must've come from god. Personally folks I believe if your rights came from god he would have given you the right to some food everyday, and he would've given you the right to a roof over your head. God would've been looking out for ya." - George Carlin
North Korea, Superskunk,
Go to North Korea, that's where you will be happy. No religion allowed.
I'm quite happy here, I don't have to go anywhere.
Typical childish response when you have nothing better to say. "You don't like it here leave, Get 'Er Done !"
I don't have a problem with folks that think they need religion. Just keep it out of my legislation, state and federal, and stop with any and all hate speak towards any and all religion.
Well, living in a democratic country, where all religion is allowed means also being ready for religious people running for your government. You have the right to vote for them, but not to demand banning them form your government all together. That's how it works. If you can live with that, good for you.
Just keep in mind, Atheism has the same danger in extremism as any religion.
hat's why I brought up North Korea. I myself used to live in USSR.
So ,I speak from experience when I say that Atheism does not solve all problems.
You misunderstood me Eli, I don't care what religion anyone believes in. Religion does a lot of good for a lot of good people, regardless that it's a myth.
I don't mind if my leaders are religious, as long as it stays out of politics and legislation. John Adams was a deeply religious man, but even he knew that his religious beliefs (aside from possibly the Golden Rule that appears in almost every religion) had no place in American government and legislation.
And just because I don't believe in monotheism, doesn't automatically make me an atheist. Since I am a very spiritual person, for arguments sake, I would say I'm more like a non theist or possibly a deist or explicit atheist. I'm not a Buddhist either, but I do practice and study the many schools of Qi Gong and follow some Buddhist principles and beliefs. But I'm not a fan of labeling myself so I try to avoid that kind of thing, especially when it comes to the religious/spiritual discussion.
On another separate, yet similar note in response to your voting point, voting under the current system in America does nothing, changes nothing, means nothing, and is completely pointless.
OK, nice to see that we can agree on some things.
However, while voting might not mean as much as it was intended to, it's till not pointless. The only reason our leaders do at least a few things right (even if it's very rarely) is that they need to compete for public opinion.
In the end, both sides do equally poor job, but that poor job is still much better that the job done by those who don't need to worry about loosing the elections, like Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, for example.
I see by now that you are one of those good liberals, who are extremely unsatisfied with the system, and therefore can't keep from gaining sympathy for the enemies of this system. That is also why you feel the need to condemn Israel. Our government supports them, so they have to be bad.
I don't blame you, this system has many flaws, but alternatives are much worse. I actually have lived in another system and have a chance to compare, so I have ground for telling you that you are extremely lucky and should appreciate the system you live in, in spite of all it's flaws.
I feel something, but I don't think it's love. It feels more like a turd trying to poke it's way out of my ass.
I would agree with you if there was an example of any change in our governments domestic and foreign policies that didn't involve civil disobedience from the public.
If you look at the voting history of either side there are numerous times where both parties vote against their "core" beliefs. Not to mention how hypocritical they can be in their belief systems, the largest being the pro life/pro choice and pro death penalty/anti death penalty argument. It's all an illusion of choice. If we really were meant to choose and have democracy there wouldn't be two parties holding all the power and money. It would be a level playing field, and it's far from that.
And they don't care about public opinion during elections, they never address the real issues during elections, just issues they have us conditioned to believe we actually care about. Which in turn keeps us atomized, isolated and arguing amongst ourselves while they continue working for the corporations that really pull their strings.
When they really need to change public opinion they resort to the propaganda machine. Which all started when the American people wanted nothing to do with WW1, and one of Woodrow Wilson's campaign platforms was keeping America out of WW1 at all costs. What happened when he got into office ? The Creel Committee was created, and the American people were lied to about atrocities committed by the Huns. Soon after America entered WW1.
"Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it." - Mark Twain
Like I said, this country has many flaws, but everything is discovered in comparison.
You still wont find a better deal out there, at least not in the near future.
I still like it, because I tried living in a system that wouldn't give us even that "illusion of choice" that you take for granted.
You never know how precious it is until you loose it.
I'll admit that I live in one of the best countries and societies in the world.
But does that mean I should just shut up and accept all the tyranny, corruption, and oppression and just be a mindless zombie ? That's not the kind of person I am, or the kind of person I want to raise my children to be.
And let's not forget that an economy based on perpetual war and trash isn't going to survive too long, that's what our government has turned our economy and country into, and it's going to come crashing down hard sooner than later.
I could also point out the numerous violations of the Constitution our "elected" officials are guilty of committing, some openly and some behind our backs.
The government exists to serve the people, the people don't exist to serve the government.
Part of what makes this system the best is that you can complain all you want.
By all means, bash your officials to the fullest, just remember, it's not the system itself you are fighting, it's the fight within the system, that is actually a crucial part of the system itself.
That above all proves that voting is not pointless, and that country does not have to come down crashing. It's changing all the time, and it will change again, and believe it or not you get to play a part in how it changes. We all do.
wait till the uninsured start paying there 400 monthly insurance bills for obama care or paying the penalty when filing! Ohhh and why is the media ignoring the 40 cent increase in gas since the elections ended
Iran is going too get a nuke very soon, and I feel sorry for anyone who pissed them off.
Of course I understand the world implications if this should happen and it will trust me.
The Russians are going to allow Iran too get one by protecting them with interests of there own.
Same as North Korea is being protected by China, its just a matter of time now.
The only big question is will they use them like they seem too bit-ch so much about killing and revenge?
The other big what if...is will the time line before they get one cause nations like Israel, the US, Russia, China too get into a very unstable shaky nuclear standoff in the process.
I think they understand that using this power would only cause there demise, but what if they don't care about the outcome?
What then?
The only thing I see going forward is a possible nuclear war either out of fear in stopping them from getting one, or the fact that they would use one when they get it.
In both scenarios I can only see one outcome.......possible regional nuclear war then the bigger players get sucked into this with full nuclear world war.
I don't see any other possible scenario that will not cause some kind of serious nuclear event in the very near horizon.
Israel will use there nukes on Iran if they become scared enough, and the North Korean guy will use his on the South one day, and I really think China will allow it behind the scenes of course.
So what will the future look like?
Well................a Middle Eastern nuclear arms race will ensue and a possible nuclear attack on one or another is evident given the hatred between these nations, then comes the roll of the allies in all this soon to be mess.
It looks too me like we are seeing the birth pains of the old cold war coming back out of Russia and now with China as well.
War is in the air and getting much more dangerous by the months.
I really don't know if there is a simple way too shut this down before it gets out of hand without the full cooperation of all super power nations meaning the US, Russia, China being the main 3 then there are the secondary players like India, Pakistan, Israel, and a few little others that are very trigger happy right now.
I don't like the look of things right now and have a bad feeling that a possible world war or something close too it is in the very works as of now till ?????????
JMPO hope I am wrong, but I do not think I am, it smells bad all over the world right now and wars have started in the past like this.
With the future looking so bleak in your opinion, let's move along to another topic. Green energy anyone? Climate change anyone? Oh Fuk it, if there is going to be mini-nuclear wars popping up all over the place what's the point with any of the other topics mentioned above? An atmosphere of laced chemicals, thick radioactive allergens and off the chart radiations making most anything that reproduces none fertile. What reproduction does make it through the life forming cycle will turn out to look like what you may see in alien space movies and sideshow circus entertainment. Bleak future indeed, please change the canvas often!
Lets just nuke them into oblivion now and be done with it,we have a surplus of nuclear weapons anyway,so lets just annihilate Iran now and screw world opinion.
Notice how the Zionist war mongers, like Rick, want the US to nuke Iran, but whine and cry wolf about Iran's non existent nuclear weapons program. I say non existent, because our intelligence agencies have all declared that Iran does not have a nuclear weapons program.
Iran has not attacked another country in almost 200 years, while Israel has attacked all of their neighbors.
If Israel was involved in killing the Iranian in Syria, I say good luck to Iran. The government of Syria is an Iranian ally, so the Iranian had every right to be there. Israel has been implicated in the deaths of several Iranian scientists, so Iran should go for it. Turnabout is fair play.
Furthermore, what is all the stuff about America nuking Iran? It is Israel who has the problem, let them handle it alone. They have the nukes. Israel loves to involve America in it's problems.
1992: Israeli
parliamentarian Benjamin Netanyahu tells his colleagues that Iran is 3 to 5
years from being able to produce a nuclear weapon – and that the threat
had to be "uprooted by an international front headed by the US."
1992:
Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres tells French TV that Iran was set to have
nuclear warheads by 1999. "Iran is the greatest threat and greatest
problem in the Middle East," Peres warned, "because it seeks the
nuclear option while holding a highly dangerous stance of extreme religious
militancy."
1992:
Joseph Alpher, a former official of Israel's Mossad spy agency, says "Iran
has to be identified as Enemy No. 1."

Hey guys, where are the nukes you claimed they would have? It has been over 20 years since the Israeli made their claim and still no nukes. Still, there are suckers out there, biting on every word of Zionist propaganda.
WWIII is most likely coming! Most of us here in the US know it's just a matter of time. And just like WWII, we don't want anything to do with it. Let the Arabs and Jews sort out their own mess without our aid or any help whatsoever. Most Americans realize that Israel is not a good ally and is often described as blood sucking leeches by most Americans. Especially the Jewish Americans who are financially destroying our country! What makes me sick is most of these Jews think Americans don't know the history behind all this bloodshed in the middle east. Fact is most of us do know the history and do not blame Iran for their actions. It has nothing to do with being antisemitic. Most of us are just sick of their bs. Only Americans who support Israel are either Jews themselves or their supporters who have been paid off by Jews. Which by the way are very few although many have influence here with the political criminals who run this country. If only we sided with the Axis during WWII the world might be a better place today! Think about it! Our relationship with Japan & Germany is a whole lot better for the US in many ways than it ever has been with Israel. Fact!!! And I can almost guarantee a friendship with Iran will put the US in a better world position than it's current friendship with Israel. We do not want another war because of Jew propaganda in the middle east! So if your pushing to nuke Iran then get out of the US and go Jew yourself into oblivion in Israel without involving Americans! We have enough problems of our own to deal with here in the states than helping the Jews fight a war they started!
I say non existent, because our intelligence agencies have all declared that Iran does not have a nuclear weapons program.
Do you believe everything told to you?
Israel has attacked all of their neighbors
More like counter attacked...
I hope the "Iron Dome is in good working order in Israel and the Iranian People have a Dome of their own which I doubt.
The Mullahs, well they're poking a Hornets nest full of Killer Bees.
I hope for the Iranian Peoples sake, the Mullahs don't forget what happened to Iraq and Saddam.
The Pit Bulls are waiting in the wings...
Has Iran ever attacked another country first since the Iranian Revolution ? No. What are you talking about, besides war mongering that is.
My mom once told me about sticks and stones, you know that one ?
The "Iron Dome" is working well. Hell, it was paid for by the American taxpayer, to the tune of a billion dollars. You would think the Israelis could have paid for it themselves, but AIPAC saw to it that our Congress would shell our our money, while America goes bankrupt. The biggest reason we are so far in debt, is the cost of our wars with Afghanistan and Iraq, planned and sold by the Zionists.
We lose men and treasure, while Israel sits back and collects money and weapons from the US taxpayers. Now they want us to get all in a dither because some official in Iran, has a problem with Israel assassinating their citizens.
But giving money to Pakistan or Egypt does not hurt our finances at all, right?
Skunk,
"Has Iran ever attacked another country first since the Iranian Revolution ? No." - the correct answer is "yes, just not personally".
SupeSkunk, are you really that naive??? Iran has Hezbollah, Hamas and the Palestinians doing their dirty work, plus supplying explosives, intel and military supplies to Al Qaeda and the Taliban against our troops
in Iraq and Afghanistan. Iran is also trying to unstable other nations and kingdoms in that region, with one goal in mind, to bring back the Persian Empire.
Skunk (what and appropriate name). Hate is always applicable when applied to Islam and the Muslim plague.
Please provide evidence to support your claims, actual evidence, not allegations, accusations, and/or speculation.
I don't believe Iran's accusations that are being made here in this article, it's the same thing as the accusations against them, no concrete evidence.
And where's the outcry for our government selling weapons that kill civilians, like the ones being used currently to murder PRO-DEMOCRACY protestors in Bahrain ? Now THAT there is actual concrete evidence for.
Khomeini did state openly that Iran is always happy to help anyone who fights against Israel. That's not the kind of evidence that would hold in court, but should clear up the situation to an objective viewer.
There's a handful of jewish leaders that have said similar things about fighting islam and wiping islam off the earth.
If you want to talk objective, you MUST present BOTH sides of the story, not just one side or whatever side YOU favor. That would be subjectivity, or a half truth.
None of those Jewish leaders have absolute power in Israel. Most of them have no power at all.
Khomeini is titled Supreme Leader, his word means much more.
Still just words, that was the only point I was trying to make.
When you pass a car in a traffic and the guy in the other car yells: "Drop dead!" - that's just words.
When a guy in a KKK mask stands on your front lawn with a gun and yells: "I am going to kill you!" - that's not just words.
When a wannabe-preacher is standing in a rented auditorium yelling: "We should kill them all!" - that's just words.
When a leader of a country announces in a televised speech: "That country should be destroyed."(while his country is pursuing nukes and terrorist groups that share their faith step up their activity actually killing people) - that is not just words.
I'll once again go back to the root, if Iran had EVER attacked another country first I would agree that it would be more than just words.
The problem is the Iranian clerics have been saying things like this for over THIRTY years and have never attacked Israel or any other country. Which makes their empty rhetoric just words.
BTW, while it is a possibility, there is no evidence that Iran is developing nuclear weapons, so you can't make that statement. And even if they were, uranium needs to be enriched to over 90% to develop a weapon, and in all the years they've had a nuclear program Iran has only enriched uranium to 15-25%. They are a LONG way off to develop a weapon, if they even are.
And where is the outcry for Israel illegally having a nuclear stockpile ? It's quite hypocritical of folks like yourself and our government to automatically assume that Iran is developing nuclear weapons and crying foul, without criticizing Israel for having the largest nuclear stockpile in the Middle East. They are just as much, actually more in violation that Iran since they have weapons and Iran does not.
Iran has been attacking Israel for ages, indirectly, by supporting Hamas and Hezbollah.
"And where is the outcry for Israel illegally having a nuclear stockpile ?" - That is assuming they have weapons.
It's quite hypocritical of folks like you to demand decisive evidence of Iran having nukes, but claiming that Israel has "largest nuclear stockpile in the Middle East" based on no evidence at all.
However, that is irrelevant, Israel can not violate a treaty that they never signed. For them having nukes is perfectly legal. Iran, on the other hand, did sign a treaty, so if they have nukes, they are indeed in violation. They could pull out of the treaty, then having nukes would become legal for them too. However, that would take away the element of surprise, and without it, the whole thing becomes pointless now days. I guess they should've thought of that before signing the treaty.
The same "voice" that tempted Christ in the desert also lead the "chosen ones" into the promised land.
Uh, no offence but I think you have your scripture a LITTLE confused. It was Satan tempting Christ, and Moses led the children of Israel to the promised land. Two totally different personages.
I don't want to spend the rest of my life
Looking at the barrel of an Armalite
I don't want to spend the rest of my days
Keeping out of trouble like the soldiers say
I don't want to spend my time in hell
Looking at the walls of a prison cell
I don't ever want to play the part
Of a statistic on a government chart
There has to be an invisible sun
It gives it's heat to everyone
There has to be an invisible sun
That gives us hope when the whole day's done
I wonder if this will be a topic of discussion during Obama's golf outing today.
Iranaians/Persians today might do well to remember that it was Haman (Omanes), the vizier of Persian king Ahasuerus (Artaxerxes II), and all of Haman's sons, and not Mordechai, who was hanged from the gallows built by Haman for Mordechai.
