Tough neighborhood: Can Waziristan militancy be dismantled, and society built?

Pakistani troops say they want to rebuild Waziristan, a corner of Pakistan that has become a hotbed of military activity, with financial help from the U.S. and others. But in order to do that, they insist U.S. drone strikes on the area must end. NBC's Amna Nawaz was granted exclusive access to the region that had previously been off-limits to foreigners.

NO!

It is going to be worse!

1. Instead of moving with times, many followers of Islam are fast marching backwards. This will complicate matters.

2. There tribal issues will contribute more to the decline of opportunities and increasing radical activities.

3. Paki top (politicians, military, clerics/mullahs and intellectuals) are highly corrupt and short shighted. Whatever they touch are going to move fast from bad to worse.

4. This is a ploy as usual to drain our tax monies dangling too many hopes and showing economic assistance as a worthwhile activity.

5. It is better to keep away from the most ungrateful and biggest backstabbers of Pakistan. NO WASTE OF TAX MONIES EITHER!

First we must fix Obama care. Then we can fix Waziristan.

If they take the money they spend on nukes, and combine it with the energy they spend on bogus 'insult to islam' persecutions, Pakistan could build a world-class infrastructure across their entire nation. It is a resource-rich nation if they would only choose to join the modern world...

Whenever they want some aid they sweet talk us into it. Previously under the Bush administration Pervasive Perverted Pervez would keep giving us AQ's virtual No. 3 and milk a couple of billion for each individual handed over. That money would be for aid but the general public would never see a cent. All this aid money is divided between the pockets of officials at the top, the building of nukes and the face-off with India in Kashmir. Now they are in need of more money and they have come with a plan to get more.

Pakistan will never get rid of the militants. It uses the militants for proxy wars and terrorist activities in Afghanistan and India. Rebuilding Waziristan is all a hoax. This money they take from us (if they do) will be distributed just like I stated above. Why should we waste our money on people who are very ungrateful and hell bent on troubling us? Leave Pakistan alone, they have not been cooperative in our war in Afghanistan and most of all they gave shelter to the most wanted man on earth - Osama Bin Laden - for 10 years. These guys are rogues, they are not to be trusted.
