Ghanaian Cardinal Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson attends a mass at St. Peter's basilica on Tuesday in Vatican City.
CAPE COAST, Ghana — On Sundays in the Ghanaian city of Cape Coast, the pews in Roman Catholic churches do something most Americans would find surprising. They fill up.
Unlike the typical 45-minute Mass in the United States, these services are two and a half hours long, but that’s what churchgoers come for. Those who show up late will find a few plastic chairs arranged outside. Better luck next week.
The West Coast of Africa is one of the only places in the world where Catholicism is growing. Since 2005, the number of Catholics on the African continent has grown by more than 20% and it is expected to continue at that pace for the next decade.
There are also plenty of priests. In fact, seminaries here are producing so many priests, they often move to Europe to fill a growing shortage.
So it’s no surprise, really, that the cardinal from Ghana, Cardinal Peter Turkson, was discussed as a likely candidate for pope in the early days after Pope Benedict announced he was stepping down. It now seems he is a long shot, but there are still plenty of people pulling for him here.
After Mass last Sunday in Cape Coast, the city about 100 miles from Ghana's capital Accra where Turkson served as archbishop, one parishioner summed up his chances this way: "We never thought a half black man would be president of the U.S. But it happened and he is doing okay. So [Turkson] could be the pope."

From village to archdiocese
The 64-year-old was born in the small mining village of Nsuta Wassa, in Western Ghana, the fourth of ten children. His father scraped by as a carpenter in a local mine while his mother sold vegetables on the street, sometimes helped by her young son Peter. School was held at the Catholic Church near the foot of the manganese mine. In the afternoons, the future cardinal played soccer and fished with his friends.
Those early years helped shape Turkson, making him as much a social advocate as a leader of the church. Like many African bishops, he has focused on economic equality, environmental issues and peace. Turkson believes the church plays a vital role in stepping up where governments fail.
In the Cape Coast archdiocese, which Turkson ran for nearly two decades, the Catholic Church provides 60-70% of all health and education services. The cardinal helped open Mercy Hospital, a facility that focuses on women’s healthcare.
Patrick Yamoa, the doctor who runs the hospital, says the number of patients served has skyrocketed since its opening two years ago, from 80 people a week to 300 a day. Yamoa said that as a teenager he wanted to become a priest — until he met Cardinal Turkson who convinced the young science whiz to pursue medicine. Ghana was in desperate need of good doctors.
Just two weeks ago, before heading to Rome for the conclave, Turkson dropped in to check up on the clinic's finances and discovered the hospital needs a new ambulance. Yamoa suspects that with Turkson’s help they will get it by the end of the month.
He's also not surprised the cardinal stopped by even during this very busy time. "That is an attribute that endears him to many people," said Yamoa.
In 2009, Pope Benedict promoted Turkson to President of the Pontifical Council of Peace and Justice. The council focuses on war and good business practices, including the causes of the recent global financial meltdown.
This experience, combined with his pedigree (Turkson speaks eight languages), and the skills he learned as head of a diocese, have led many to consider him a well-rounded candidate for the top job.
But Archbishop Matthias Kobena Nketsiah, the current head of the Cape Coast archdiocese, said he doesn’t believe the Catholic Church is ready for its first black pope. "One problem would be acceptability. That people would accept a black pope…Not everybody. No."

Full coverage of the papal abdication from NBC News

It's time for the first Birth Control Pope. (Rather akin to our succession of "Education Presidents.")
It's about time ... for another African Pope, after 1,500 years.
Yes, We can
I think it's about time for NBC to realize that pretty much nobody gives a flying intercourse about who the next pope is.
Speak for yourself, riverboy21. I think you'll find that those INTELLIGENT people who are interested in current events, history are interested. Now get get off the library computer, and go back to your mothers basement before she finds out you're gone!
Oooo personal insults, you must feel great about yourself and there go your chances of becoming pope. By the way, all of your assumptions were incorrect. Didn't your mom ever teach you what happens when you make assumptions? When I made the post I was speaking for all my co-workers and friends who keep saying they are so sick of the relentless media coverage, not just myself. I am an intelligent person who is interested in current events and history, if you need proof you can look at my profile and see I've made 668 comments on current events compared to your 24. However, why would an intelligent person care who the pope is when it is the pope's job to make decisions for followers? It appears to be something unintelligent people would be interested in, people who can't think for themselves.
Hey your sooo full of s- -t, If that was the case just do not watch TV moron! And you have no friends of worth Most Likely!
Thats not up to a CHURCH
Yikes, touched a nerve! Riverboy, something tells me we're going to be seeing b*tchgrrl and Phrophet (Phrophet?) kissing in Vatican City on camera after the countdown to the white smoke while the band plays Auld Wang Resigned.
"Current events."
"History are interested." Oh, are it? Rarely is the question asked: is are history interested? Geez, girl, at least on a library computer you can get some help.
Hey Riverboy, quit while the quitin' is good. You are showing far to much contrary evidence to your claim "I am an intelligent person". Remember, it isn't the number of comments that indicates a level of intellect, it is rather the content that would be indicative of intellectual prowess. So attempting to "keep score" and throw up 668 vs 24 as the basis of the claim you made just has no credibility nor fact to back up the assertion. In large part I agree with what you have stated, sometimes though we have to pick our words with care as people all have a right and a position that should be respected as is the case with the Catholics that are watching this process with great interest. Hopefully this Pope will absolutely take a firm stance against harming children and an equally firm stance against those that do
The Catholic Church doesn't subscribe to the idea that an unqualified afirmative-action-hire needs to be placed in power so you liberals can assauge your guilt like you did with Obama. An African will be elected Pope if and only if the Cardinals feel he is the best choice not because you think it's time for a black Pope.
There has already been an african pope. Three of them in fact, and a middle eastern (arabic) pope. Surely nbc could do a little research and find that. It on wikipedia for crying out loud. Perhaps what they meant to say is BLACK pope.
Then we could wait and see, if a man is capable and deserves a chance that is all that really matters, It lies within the diocese to determine the outcome, personally I don't feel any one man is up to the job, I like the way the Lutheran's run their system no man should raise himself to a position where he is considered the representative of God, its not right, I will never kiss the ring, but I will always love God. after all we are all Gods children, that speaks for its self, Christ said it not me, so what ever happens happens. it is supposed to be about God not a man. the Catholics can run their Church any way they want but Man will never replace God. and no man should be put in such a position. the previous Pope knows that. remember Christ lived in near poverty the Pope lives in grandeur. the church is exactly what it reflects itself to be. the question is how do people see it to be. that appears to be the problem today. no one man can reflect God it is not possible the old system of a King on earth is obsolete they need a Parliament with a minister to hold it together. not run it. unfortunately I think its to late for them. my faith is with God not the Church. then there is post #2 no hope there either.
leave it to the athiest PigFace to respond, priceless.
Christ said "I have come ONLY for the lost sheep of the house of Israel." I'll give you a hint. They passed through the Caucus mountains on their way to Europe. Hint #2, they are not jews.
I think that it is time for a pope that will run the church accordingly to the BIBLE and only to the BIBLE...no poliitics......no special interest or race, creed and gender. Just someone that follows the bible the way its ment to be...if that is an African Pope then so be it (as long he is a true representative of the word)
Here we go again about Race!!! Does not matter what race the next pope is just so long as he is the best choice no matter the race... What in the hell is wrong with the Media or People??? Race should not play any part in the choice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not that I give a rat's arse about Catholicism or the ideological worship of their silly Pope, but since it appears inevitable that yet another "Christ incarnate" will assume the role, maybe they should find someone who will focus on something that's actually important, such as:
- Eradicating homosexuality from their ranks so these gay priests don't continue buggering small boys.
- Eliminating the ridiculous vow of celibacy for priests and nuns. Am I the only one who sees the irony in this vow supposedly making them more Christ-like, yet they're so horny they rape small children and end up looking more like Satan?
- Become champions of birth control. Trust me, God does not want to see millions of unwanted African babies with distended stomachs, malaria and flies swarming over their faces.
Oh, and don't elect a pope from Africa. Let's be honest, is there a single African country run by blacks that's worth a sh!t? Then why would the fate of an entire religion be different?
My, my, my...you holy types are pretty nasty about this Pope business. Lol. From the outside looking in, I view the job of Pope like the Boss of the NY mafia back in the 80's. Who would WANT the job? If you think you're going to escape the inferences that other occupations can't escape due to all too famililar high profile misgivings and transgressions, you're delusional. Just unplug from the stream of public opinion if it chaps your ass.
Hello folks, the Pedophile Conclave is in a bit of a dilemma, it appears that they are having difficulty finding a cardinal who isn't tainted by pedophilia. Now that it is globally known how rampant the sex abuse is inside the church all Catholic members are complicit by their support and knowledge of the pedophile crimes against humanity. Recently like in the last week, the LA diocese got hit with another 10 million payout to pedophile victims. In 2007 they paid out 660 Million to 500 pedophile victims. This continually happens all around the world.
The argument that these are isolated incidents, that ship has sailed long ago!
By Nick Squires | Telegraph.co.uk
Only two of the dozen cardinals in the running to become the next Pope are “clean” in terms of their handling of scandals involving sexually abusive priests, a prominent association of victims of clergy sex abuse said on Thursday.
The damning indictment came as it was claimed that there were up to 20 moles inside the Vatican prepared to leak more confidential documents in order to expose corruption, following the example of Pope Benedict XVI’s butler, who was jailed for theft after handing a stash of stolen papers to an Italian journalist.
The Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests said the vast majority of cardinals are tainted by having ignored cases of predatory priests or by having actively covered them up and impeded efforts by police and prosecutors to bring the offenders to justice.
The only two “papabili” or papal contenders who have a credible record on sex abuse scandals are Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle of the Philippines and Cardinal Christoph Schoenborn of Austria.
The network of victims named a third member of the Church who had a laudable record – Diarmuid Martin, the Archbishop of Dublin.
It's time for the last Poop... I mean Pope..
LOL!
not funny
Pigotry, get with it! By now you should know that every "LOL" cliche comment is sarcasm.
Pigs are slop... I mean slow..
Little piglet has no job, she does nothing but creep on these sites.
And yes......LOL
St. Malichy has had his vision which has been correct a very large percentage of the time.
Perhaps "Peter of Rome" shall be the final Pope, who knows?
We will see, the problem is with the prediction out what Pope would take the name Peter, or has Peter already been?
Well, if they vote in a black pope, it HAS to be better than the failed American experiment. At least the pope has God.
As you can see by Kven's statement, many Catholics (like all Christians) are very superstitious and in this case believe in the malarkey Malichy supposedly dreamt about. Thus I doubt a Cardinal named Peter (Turkson) will be elected Pope. The Cardinals would cause a panic in the sheeple if they did so, just as would any Pope that took the name Peter. No Peter of Rome, no end to the Catholic Church in their minds. Things like this is why I left Catholicism, and indeed all Abrahamic religions when I was 15, since I was/am too intelligent to be a sheeple.
None-the-less, I wish them well in choosing a new leader, one who will finally stop protecting pedophiles and bring the Church into the twenty-first Century. Cardinal Marc Ouellet strikes me as a good choice for a true reformer, one who has ties to both the First World countries and third world ones, as well as developing nations, so he's be better suited to make sure the Church attends to the needs of the poor, as Jesus instructed his followers to do. One can hope I guess.
Forgive me, but I don't follow this stuff. What's the dream? Final pope? The reason I ask, if this is some kind of end of times crap again, didn't we get the "last pope" speech before this last one went in? I distinctly remember 2012 was yet to come and the news was talking about this being the last pope. THat was years ago.
"Saint" Malachy supposedly had a dream while visiting Rome that told the line of future Popes, ending with "Peter of Rome" (no indication of whether that was his given name or Papal name), who would be the last Pope. Some take it to mean the Church will end, while others believe it means the end of the world. The funny thing about his prediction is that it turned up in Vatican archives centuries after his death, and was recorded by a third party. Like all predictions, this one is rather vague, and has been used to fit Popes after they have become Pope (and not always accurately). Those who adhere to this predictive dream believe Benedict was the second to last Pope, and this Pope will be the last. If the Cardinals elect Cardinal Peter Tuckson of Ghana, people will see him as "Peter of Rome" and no matter what Papal name he chooses, they will see him as the last Pope of the RC Church. I doubt the Cardinals will vote for him for just that reason - his qualifications or lack thereof will have little to do with the vote, just an attempt to keep this prediction from coming true, silly as it is.
Here's my prediction. A pope will be chosen who's name at the moment is not peter. When peter was born, inside the vatican, his mother took him with her and fled to another country and his name identity was changed in order to protect him. When he becomes pope he'll tell us a story and about his birth name being peter and that he was born in rome and he'll have solid evidence to back it up. Next he'll expose the RCC for what it is, an organization that was taken over by abominating humans and the whole world will begin to persecute it more severe than ever. As for all the good catholics well peter will nourish them.
The headline is inaccurate. There has already been THREE African Popes!According to the Liber Pontificalis, three popes-Pope St Victor I (ca186-198), Pope St Miltiades (311-14), and Pope St Gelasius (492-496)-were Africans. Now you say sub-Saharan African Pope, now that's another story.
Looks like they learned their lesson a long time ago!!
Black, White, Grey, Yellow. Whatever. Who ever is in i hope they let priests to marry and castrate and oust the ones that do harm to children. The Catholic church is in major need of an overhaul.
wtf does married priests have to do with pedophillia???heads up-whether you are married or not---"do you actually believe if these holy men get married so they can have sex---they will not touch children?having sex with a woman does not cure pediphiles....pediphiles like "small children"....being "married does not change their obsession with "children"...also-when you are a man of god-you are married to the church.i get soooo tired of this new generation wanting to change traditions & the basic morals of these holy men,& women(nuns) for that matter...
All the denominations have the same problems. They just don't have as much money. Plenty of Baptist youth ministers have done the kids over the years. But the local church doesn't have the property or insurance to pay anything to the victims.
Check out the website "stop baptist predators dot org" The abuse of one child is one too many.
If I may, I believe rockymountain123 is merely trying to say that the Church will attract more non-pedophiles if the priests can marry, as the way things are now it is a haven for those sick bastards who enjoy the power they have over children. The correllation is that as more men join the priesthood, since they could marry and have children, the less likely the Church will be someplace pedophiles see as a safe haven for themselves.
Pedophilia isn't dependent upon being married or not, but by fostering a community of insulated people, in this case men, who's numbers are in decline (fewer men become priests today, especially in the US), the easier it is to try and keep those who are priests even if they commit such acts. Make the priesthood more attractive to good men (and women) and you will see a huge drop in the numbers from what they are today. No place that has authority figures will ever be free of pedophiles and rapists - look at Steubenville, Penn State, Football in general, schools and even Congress. This is why every religion has people who abuse their power in all sorts of ways - because they can. Make a priesthood not willing to protect these creatures and you won't find many gravitating to the priesthood. Not 100% effective, but even if 90%, that will help. Having a Pope who is willing to change rules Jesus didn't put in place, but are based upon things Paul wrote, and who is willing to turn over all evidence of abuse to local police, along with the offenders, and you will have a far better Church for it.
It's time for the first American pope.
WRONG
WANG
Nick, I think you are right. There is no doubt in MY mind that the pews are filling up in the Cardinal's diocese in Africa faster than they can build them because the Catholic Church provides free healthcare. With patients filling the hospitals--from 80 to 300 PER DAY--there is no doubt in my mind where the money is coming from. Maybe I'm sounding like a curmudgeon, but Americans have been the most generous contributors to the Catholic Church, so now, Americans, and also Europeans, are providing "universal health care" to Africans. You can be sure that the African's contributions to the church are minimal. Also, the Phillipines are heavily Muslim. It is time for a Pope from the West, either America or Canada, who may well be more in tune with the modern world. The West has been accused by the church of being materialistic, but it does not refuse materialistic support. It is very unlikely the Pope will attempt to change church doctrine, but perhaps a Western Pope will be more likely to clean the church's house because the loudest voices regarding corruption and pedophilia came from the West.
I think that it is time for a pope that will run the church accordingly to the BIBLE and only to the BIBLE...no poliitics......no special interest or race, creed and gender. Just someone that follows the bible the way its ment to be...if that is an African Pope then so be it (as long he is a true representative of the word
Not if it is anything like Obama. The "richest church in the world" will be broke in less than 4 years and all of the priests will be on food stamps and welfare.
Yes ... Everybody. What a good move it would be!
No- not now, likely not ever. If they can't elect an American, than they can't elect an African. And, by the way, it wouldn't make any difference anyway.
You don't think it would make a difference? See Post #10 and please don't suggest that such a crowd within the American Catholic Church doesn't exist.
It ain't gonna happen. Angelo Scola is the next pope.
To John Brown:
Per Scola:
"the cardinal’s logic, in fact, seems to be that feminism is responsible for homosexuality, because the more women act like men, the more men are likely to want to have sex with other men." -Cardinal Scola
This isn't logic. It's a poor, uneducated opinion.
In response to others, likening the world's acceptance of Turkson to Obama....there is no comparison between these individuals. Turkson promotes the teachings of Christ. Obama promotes himself and his own agenda.
This article makes no comment about prophetic ques regarding having Peter as the next Pope. /shrugs
OMG OMG The End is Nigh!! The End is Nigh!!
Fin
Having an African pope would drive the wingnut faction of the American Catholic Church absolutely crazy. The good news is that it would finally bring out the hypocrisy embedded in those Catholics who claim a Biblical grounding yet silently or overtly discriminate against minorities. I hope they do elect an African pope. It would be the best thing the Vatican has done in centuries.
So true
Only fkg cowards play the race card eh wimp.
Are you one of those fkg cowards or not?
I think that it is time for a pope that will run the church accordingly to the BIBLE and only to the BIBLE...no poliitics......no special interest or race, creed and gender. Just someone that follows the bible the way its ment to be...if that is an African Pope then so be it (as long he is a true representative of the word
No way Jack, It's time for an American Pope!
There will never be a black pope
I think there should be but it's just not gonna happen. Those on my Dad's side would be furious. They are heavily Roman Catholic.
In front of you they'll smile and say "maybe" but behind closed doors? NEVER in the life times. They are racist too. Sad but very true.
Sorry Rob99 but you are, I believe, totally wrong. I am a white conservative catholic, but I would welcome a black Pope with as much joy as a white one.
Also the priest in my (95%white) parish is a black man, originally from Senegal, and he is greatly loved by his parishioners
Best regards
Rob, you are probably correct. In a world where no Christian church can command membership and attendance because it has no longer has any real secular power to do so, peoplewill "vote with their feet" as has been the case anyway with the RCC for the past few decades in Europe and North America. The ascenscion of a black cardinal to the papacy would only accelerate the process. The RCC knows this, and will act accordingly. They will elect a European or North American.
So what the article is saying is that Catholicism is primarily a third world problem now. I feel sorry for that part of the world. Mark my words, in one or two generations there will be a pedophile scandal uncovered as children grow up and tell their stories as adults.
Despicable faith!
All that hate comming from a despicable little man.
It's time, but it won't happen. The Church of England missed a chance to name a new Archbishop of Canterbury who had African roots. They're too conservative. Biblical prohibitions against homosexuality are still recognized in African churches, and they have the gall to view the Bible as the inspired word of God. The unenlightened third-worlders haven't kept up with societal changes that have compromised and gutted Biblical mandates. Since the West has all the money, poor Africa is at the mercy of the theology of the cafeteria Christians in the West, picking only what they like.
Texas, yes the prohibitions against homosexuality are recognized in African churches. But the western Catholic Church recognizes them as well. This will not likely change. My problem with appointing an African Pope is the likelihood that he will ignore local cultural practices that are forbidden or frowned upon by the Church to ensure his popularity--such as multiple marriages, perhaps underage marriages, etc. Whether his diocese and/or the surrounding area practices gender mutilation of girls and young women prescribed by tribal leaders & adult women is not known to me. But if that practice exists, then he was unable to influence outdated ritualistic tribal custom.
Oh wah wah. Tired of the hypocrites talk about homosexuality in the Bible whilst munching on a pork sandwich. Right around the corner from the "homo clause", you have the commandment to not eat pork (among other things) and it's ignored / rationalized / justified in twisted ways. "Oh, these laws don't apply after Jesus." So, Jesus died so we could eat a McRib®?!? Jesus was a jew, a jew who condemned homosexuality AND pork. WWJD? Not eat bacon.
Oz, the pig that went into that McRib I ate last night died for my sins, and I accepted him as my personal savior...from starvation. The french fries were pretty good, too. With a medium coke, it all came to about thirty quarters. You can eat me.
Perhaps, however my comments were facts.....old, provable facts.
Why not, we have one in the White House. Just be sure to check his birth certificate.
AA pope, muslim prez....wth
hell no
MSN and their dumb ass headlines. This is like the dumbass promotion they had for Obama.
Who the hell cares if the pope or president is black, white, yellow or purple? It should be based purely on their abilities. But MSN had to keep the propaganda machine going for Obama. Idiots like those at MSN are responsible for the utter failure we have for a president. OK it isn't purely MSN's fault but also weak willed, lazy, knee-jerk, short-term planning, bottom feeding idiots are largely responsible as well.
very nicely put and to the point I might add
boe, the "white" Pope is the one with the best abilities, and will follow the Bible. No need for a black Pope here.
Considering how well African countries have done under African leadership since 1960, and how well America is doing running the same experiment, repeating the experiment yet again with the Roman Catholic Church fits Einstein's very definition of insanity.
Cardinal Eagan would be a great choice. It's about time for the first american pope.
I like Sean O'Malley myself, but you're right. It's time for an American Pope.
I can see it now! A pope-mobile with big rims and curb feelers, the Swiss Guard with pants showing their skivvies, KFC and Colt .45 in lieu of bread and wine at mass, Ebonics as the official language, giving high-fives instead of kissing the ring, etc...
Spike, thanks for putting your particular brand of ignorance on display. Even dredging up an Ebonics reference... You are as current as you are funny. Curb feelers? Really? Go back to the 70's where your un-funny cliches are at least relevant.
The biggest problem we face in America is the making everything a racial issue. If we treat people as an individual regardless of race we would be so much better. We are all a part of the HUMAN RACE. This racism crap is killing America but people refuse to wake up. I agree there are changes needed in the church but selecting a pope should be on qualification. God is in charge they will select the right person. I am not catholic but I wish them all the best!
Why does the Pope's race matter? You make an issue over the pope having to be Black when in fact that in itself is racist!
La Verite, read my post at 13.1.
Is there a day that goes by that msn isn't licking the blacks ass? Serious, one day? From the site roots, to white cops shooting black thugs. One day msn? Last time I checked, there was like 20% black population. There are more mexicans here now than blacks. You wouldn't know it by this site. You'd think the blacks make up 55%.
You had an entire month to get all this "black" out of your system msn. Enough already.
you're an ignorant a$$hole that's what you are, and who gives a sh!t whether the pope is black, purple or pink?? I know I don't and oh, btw......I'M BLACK!!!!!
There goes that ignorant word flying around again. Msn has a black agenda, while race baiting at the same time. It's obvious. I don't care about what color the pope is, but msn sure does. That's my point. Go call someone on your obama phone that cares.
Sorry you shallow idiot, Verizon is my carrier-hate to dispell that stereotypical rumor of yours-do you have any original opinions or did you vote for dumb azz Bush because he was white & don't bother responding, it's my bedtime, I have a job to go to in the morning believe it or not!!!!
I can picture you shoving your face full like Ronnie Love. We all know you only got your job because of affirmative action. Your not fooling anyone. I bet there were 10 more candidates for the job that were better qualified than you, but with the front of the line AA, it doesn't matter. Did it take schooling? Ya, we know how much you paid for that as well. What's funny is you fkers complain oh so much about segregation, yet when it's gone, all you do is segregate yourselves with racist "black only" schools, FUBU, for us by us. WTF is that? Thought you wanted to mingle in society, and not be segregated.
VotedFor....but not racist? Who are you kidding. You are really an *ss!!
Perhaps you did not notice that you are on NBC news not MSN anymore.
There has already been 3, count them 3 popes who were born in africa!!! I'm so sick of this progressive bs that doesn't know history. What you want is a non white pope! Just say it racists
If this is truly an authentic body of christians, what difference does race matter?? Who wrote this sh!t??? Whomever it is is certainly not a christian or this wouldn't be a question or an issue!!!!
I told you. Msn has a race baiting policy now. Every day there's something baiting you in here, just like it did you.
So then what's your excuse for being in here??? You idiot, obviously you're on the wrong site, considering you're not black!!!! Dumb A$$ hillbillies-incest negates original thoughts!!!
Did you throw your hand up, and jive your nappy ass head around in your mind while typing your racist slander? How many little illegitimate paychecks do you have? Enough to drive an escalade yet?
Renee---I was about to defend you until I read your post. You are just as much an *ass as VotedForSkinColorButImNotRacist. You both are racists!!!
This is an A B conversation honey. C yourself out.
How about a layman? Canon Law allows for it. Choose a widower. Think outside the box.
Bill Clinton is a "lay-man". He'd make a fine pope.
