Tons of horse manure dumped outside French parliament in political protest

French police and municipal workers walk near a large pile of manure in front of the National Assembly in Paris on Thursday.

A critic of French President Francois Hollande dumped tons of horse manure in front of Paris' parliament building Thursday in a pungent protest against French politics.

"Out with Hollande and the entire political class. Long live the Sixth Republic," read a message on the side of the man's articulated truck. He was arrested before he dumped the full load, Reuters reported.

Hollande is currently dogged by allegations he had an affair with a younger actress, France's sluggish economy, and the lowest popularity ratings of any leader in modern-day France.
